Now that I know a lot of "Martin being a cute doofus" came from them giving up on him being secretly an evil spy from the web it makes him even better. Because we have all the glimpses of what this could mean but he is just being honest instead.

And he still can manipulate if need be but he choose not to. He isn't as passive and he is underestimated but that isn't a thing he choose he just had to deal with it until he got feed up. He is a great manipulator but he just won't do it. He just chooses sincerity. He chooses to love Jon. He chooses to care.

The fact that he likes spiders and defends their utility isn't foreshadow anymore it's just that despite everything he saw the Web doing he still can look at the animal related to it and see goodness in it. Martin is just so sweet. And he being in the Lonely is even more heartbreaking because this is the sweet boy who makes mediocre poems in tape recorders because it sounds vintage, that just interrumpted his boss shirtless after moving to his workplace building because he had a crush on him. Martin is just a silly little guy. And it hurts how he stops because people don't treat silly little guys well, specially not akward autistic coded fat silly little guys. I can't.
