I need to know more about Shank raising Ace au actually that sounds like it has hilarious potential. Like. Does Ace travel around with them? How would Shank justify Ace being there with them to Luffy who is asking to get on the pirate ship? (Probably doesn’t have to with ‘thats my adoptive son thats different’)
Omg an ask hi!!
This is an AU we came up with together with @achairwithapandaonit, and it's important to know there are 3 parts to it (that all ends up meeting up in a fourth part).
(And you are so right this is absolutely hilarious.)
First off is Roger asking 15 year old Shanks to take care of his (future) son because surely nothing can go wrong from this decision. Shanks picks up a newborn Ace from Baterilla and raises him on his own ship since clearly both him and Buggy came out perfectly fine from being raised on Roger's ship.
Which of course leads to Buggy's break out with Shanks because he's jealous of Shanks being the obvious favourite. Years down the line, Buggy finds his own "son" to adopt! (Sabo would insist he was the one to raise himself on Buggy's ship. The truth is that they made each other worse.)
And then due to Plot Reasons(tm), Luffy leaves Dawn Island a lot earlier and ends up in Rayleigh's "care". By which I mean he got bored, somehow found his devil fruit, kidnapped Koby, and managed to cross the calm belt by boat.
It does means that Luffy doesn't meet Shanks and his crew as a kid, though, but it's fine! They still meet in Marineford, where Luffy finds his dream of becoming king of the pirates.

Surprisingly enough, not Buggy centric this time!!
AU where things are mostly the same up to a certain point - that point being the disbanding of the Roger pirates. Shanks and Buggy, as the two children on board, wind up already having an unhealthy codependency, something only exacerbated when all the adults in their lives are suddenly just.... Gone. They still fight after the execution. They still argue. They still split. But they come back together not even hours later because Buggy and Shanks and Shanks and Buggy are the only constants in an ever changing world.
They remain close and connected, hiding it from the world at large by playing to their strengths. They are effectively co captains and allies in equal measure, each having a place with the other and theirs.
So when Uta is found and taken in, Buggy is the voice of reason and the one to help Shanks with determining the safest avenues to keep her and keep her safe, the ways they should have been.
The events of Elgia go similarly to the movie, up until the moment they leave her. Shanks, emotional, uncertain, scared, calls Buggy for input.
Buggy tears him a new one for even considering that ((bonus for contextual angst if anyone is interested, lmk)).
Anyway, they decide that yes, being on the Red Force full time is dangerous, but abandoning her is out of the question. They'd need somewhere relatively safe with someone trusted within accessible distance...
Uta and Luffy are both sat down together, gentle words spoken and facts exchanged. Shanks introduces them to Buggy, and they both share the information with the kids as well as they can. Uta is upset, admittedly, but after some time to cool down, a talk with Makino, and then another talk with Buggy, she comes around to the idea. Luffy's already like her little brother anyway. Might as well just... accept it.
Makino is happy to have an extra set of hands around the bar, and Uta and Luffy are her "appretices". While Lu has a tendency to be a bit overzealous, Uta is a good calming force on him, and he's good for drawing her from her shell. They're nearly attached at the hip, and you'd be hard pressed for a long time to find them within arms reach of each other and NOT be holding hands at the very least.
Buggy and Shaks wind up coparenting the kids for a while, until Shanks is finally set to leave - for a long voyage. He passes the hat to Luffy. He makes the promise-
And is quickly cut off by am annoyed Uta because "you can't just say it like THAT, dad!! Give the hat back as a great pirate, sure, but don't make it so you can't see each other. You'll both cry."
So, promise amended to allow for visits and talks and stuff, Shanks passes on the hat, sets out, leaves his kids with their own denden, and looks forward to the future and adventure!!
Just to get a call three weeks later from a frantic Buggy that "garp took the kids up the mountain to some bandits and I'm going TO THROTTLE THE MAN-"
He's a few weeks out, and he's already on the way, just wanted to let Shanks know.
A week later, Buggy calls again, quiet and shaky.
"There's four now. And one of 'em is.... fuck, Shanks..."
"What is it, bugaboo? Is someone hurt-?"
"He asked what I'd think, 'if Gold Roger has a son'."
"...."
"....."
"........."
"His name is Ace."
"Oh by the seas..."
"Yeah. Good news - our little brother is our son's brother."
Shanks cackle, hysterical, because otherwise he might cry.
In one world, a pirate prince, a blue blood, and a revolutionary's legacy meet and swear to be together, alove in the wooded lands of their world.
In this one, they've got a cursed songstress at their hips, more than enough adults to worry over them, and a fundamental shift in the bearings of fate.

Team Dad Verse AU
OT3 Buggy/Mihawk/Shanks
A One Piece Au in which Roger & Garp raise their kids & crews together. The impact is far reaching
Part One Part Two Part Three
An Alternate One Piece History
40 ish years ago: Gol D Roger & Monkey D Garp meet to form a tentative truce for God Island incident hoping to keep more people on both sides of the marine divide alive. Through the danger and struggle they come to trust each other implicitly, a life long bond is created
In the aftermath of the incident Roger finds two mysterious toddlers both set adrift in the ocean. One is a sunny red headed, cheerful little boy with the looks of a Viking prince. The other is strange, difficult, overly busy, and perpetually unhappy. The only thing that seems to settle the odd blue haired little boy, is his red head friend.
Roger raises both both children aboard his ship as honorary Rogers Pirates. They're called Shanks & Buggy respectively. They're not his blood but they will inherit his pirate legacy. They're inseparable.
35 years ago: Garp & Roger marry in secret
30 years ago: increasing pressure from the world government causes a spiral of strain between increasing strife between Marines and pirates. Often men who'd been working working side by side in balance for years. Alliances, friendships, and romantic engagements crumble
27 years ago: Roger Pirates are disbanded. Shanks & Buggy have a falling out, each starting their own crews separately.
It's rumored they still occasionally see each other on Roger's lingering business. No one knows what that might be.
Dracule Mihawk & Red Hair Shanks teen friendship grows into a deeply knowing understanding
They trust and understand each other. A rarity among pirates.
Some say they're lovers
Some say neither man has a heart
Others say if they don't have them, it's because Buggy the Clown ate them.
None of them are concerned about the rumors
26 years ago: increasing tensions between pirates and Marines put titanic pressure on Roger & Garp. Neither of whom are willing to sacrifice their respective ways of life
25 years ago: The two men go their seperate ways permanently
Roger, who may or may not be terminally I'll, is arrested shortly after
The rumor mill can't keep up with the implications
24 Years ago: Gol d Roger is put to death, Garp mourns privately
In the months that follow, mutually distraught, Buggy & Shanks reconcile, sometimes running their crews together for periods of weeks or months at a time.
The two crews are known to be close associates of each other. It's an open secret that Red Hair Shanks & Buggy the Clown are lovers.
Mihawk is still around sometimes. No one knows what that means. No one's brave enough to ask.
23 years ago: Gol D Ace is born to Garp & Roger. A romantic story is woven to protect the child and his identity. A story about a woman who loves a man so much she held their baby inside her body until Roger had been in prison for much to long to be the baby's father. The baby is given his fictional mother's family name, Portgas.
Ace takes after Garp the most, fun loving, hearty, brave, loyal, stubborn, incredibly strong, and always absolutely starving.
If Garp seems like he has regrets no one is foolish enough to point that out to him
18 years ago: The eldest son of the GolD MonkeyD clan, a disillusioned Marine turned freedom fighter Monkey D Dragon, and a disenfranchised pirate turned mercenary spy code name Crocodile, cross paths in an unlikely turn of political events
Sparks Fly between Crocodile, & Dragon, two men with different but momentarily intersecting goals find common ground
A connection is made, a baby is conceived
17 years ago: Crocodile gives birth to a baby boy in absolute secret. The baby, an heir to unknowable power amongst both the pirates and the Marines, is in danger as long as he remains with either of his fathers.
The infant is a liability neither man is willing or able to take on, neither of his parents can reasonably or safely take care of the baby in their lines of work
The baby was given only a name, Monkey D Luffy and sent via wet nurse courier to the home base of his adopted family, Buggy & Shanks. Both men, foundlings themselves, with connections high up in both the Marines and the world's most powerful pirate crews. The baby can be safe there. And so he's raised, hidden in plain sight in Buggy and Shank's combined crew for three years.
Ace spends summers with Shanks and Buggy as well, both to reduce suspicions about his parentage and so the 2 little boys could be raised as family
14 years ago: Luffy, now much to spirited and strong to hide on any one ship, starts drawing dangerous questions from powerful people. A painful decision is made. Shanks & Buggy's crews will separate again, only working together in secret.
Shanks would take the toddler and set him up at a home base, a nowhere little backwater town called Windmill village, where he could keep an eye on the growing boy from an apparent distance.
Buggy would be out in the world spreading the wrong kind of rumors.
Ace, a bright and precocious child, spends summers bouncing between Buggy and Shanks, learning everything he can about the kind of freedom he dreams of taking for himself one day.
10 years ago: Luffy eats the gum gum fruit unintentionally causing an avalanche of cataclysmic change.
Shanks inability to produce this particular devil fruit puts him in the cross hairs of powerful government agents. Knowing the government and pirates alike would soon be making attempts on the the life of whoever ate the gum gum fruit, Shanks sends for Garp to take his grandson. He's now the only person with the power to hide Luffy from both the Marines and the secretive government officials the devil fruit was intended for.
To further protect Luffy, Shanks disappears with his crew amid rumors they started themselves that he'd double crossed his employers and eaten the devil fruit himself.
Shanks gives Luffy his hat before he goes and tells the boy to come find him when he's ready to become a great pirate in his own right
Luffy's dream is born
Garp collects Luffy, he raises and trains both Luffy and Ace as adopted brothers
Though Luffy doesn't remember being born into piracy, it's in his blood and bones, it's in his dreams
No matter what Garp does, he's unable to dissuade either his secret son or his grandson from the danger of following their family's grand pirate legacy
Rumors travel fast on the high seas, rumors get back to Buggy that Shanks has taken up with the Marine sanctioned freshly minted Warlord of the sea, the Privateer Dracule Mihawk... again.
Buggy is heartbroken and furious, he sinks deep into the weeds of retaliation and revenge, cutting off contact with the only extended family he's ever known
5 years ago: in a frustrated fury over ongoing power struggles with Garp, Ace leaves home. Whitebeard finds him, offers to make the boy his own son and legacy. Ace accepts, finally he has a family where he belongs
Hopefully

Roger Federer wins 8th Wimbledon title in 14 years
It was only 14 years ago when Roger Federer beat Mark Philippoussis for his first Wimbledon title, and on Sunday he made history winning his 8th title against Marin Cilic. After Roger Federer closed out a Wimbledon final that was more of a coronation than a contest with an ace, he sat in his changeover chair and wiped away tears. That is when it hit him: His wait for record-breaking No. 8 was over. Until then, Federer wasn't focused on the notion of winning the grass court tournament more often than any other man in the history of an event first held in 1877. All he'd been concerned with, consumed with, was being healthy enough to compete at a high level and, he hoped, to win a title, regardless of what the total count would be. Capping a marvelous fortnight in which he never dropped a set, Federer won his eighth Wimbledon trophy and 19th Grand Slam championship overall by overwhelming Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 in merely 1 hour, 41 minutes Sunday. "Wimbledon was always my favorite tournament. Will always be my favorite tournament. My heroes walked the grounds here and walked the courts here. Because of them, I think I became a better player, too," said Federer, who will turn 36 next month and is the oldest male champion at the All England Club in the Open era, which began in 1968. "To mark history here at Wimbledon really means a lot to me just because of all of that, really," he said. "It's that simple." His first major title came at Wimbledon in 2003 and was followed by others in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. He won again in 2009 and 2012. But then he lost finals in 2014 and 2015 to Novak Djokovic. He couldn't be sure another final, let alone title, was possible a year ago, when he lost in the semifinals, then took the rest of 2016 off to let his surgically repaired left knee heal. "It's been a long road," he said. Sunday's outcome was only in doubt for about 20 minutes, the amount of time it took Federer to grab his first lead. Cilic said afterward he developed a painful blister on his left foot during his semifinal Friday, and that affected his ability to move properly or summon the intimidating serves that carried him to his lone Grand Slam title at the 2014 U.S. Open, where he surprisingly beat Federer in the semifinals. This one was all Federer, who had been tied at seven championships with Pete Sampras and William Renshaw in what's still officially called Gentlemen's Singles. Sampras won all but one of his in the 1990s; Renshaw won each of his in the 1880s when the previous year's winner advanced automatically to the final. With clouds overhead and a bit of chill in the air Sunday, Federer's early play was symptomatic of jitters. For everything he's accomplished, for all of the bright lights and big settings to which he's become accustomed, the guy many have labeled the "GOAT" - Greatest of All Time - admits to feeling heavy legs and jumbled thoughts to this day. It was Federer, not Cilic, who double-faulted in his first two service games. And it was Federer, not Cilic, who faced the initial break point, in the fourth game. But Cilic netted a return, beginning a run of 17 points in a row won by Federer on his serve. He would never be confronted with another break point. "I gave it my best," Cilic said. "That's all I could do." In the next game, Federer broke to lead 3-2. He broke again to take that set when Cilic double-faulted, walked to the changeover and slammed his racket. Cilic sat and covered his head with a white towel. With Federer up 3-0 in the second set, Cilic cried while he was visited by a doctor and trainer. He said that was not so much a result of his foot's pain as the idea that he could not play well enough to present a challenge. "Very tough emotionally," said Cilic, whose foot was re-taped by a trainer after the second set. "I knew that I cannot give my best on the court." It might not have mattered. Federer was, as he'd been all tournament, flawless, the first man in 41 years to win Wimbledon without ceding a set. Against Cilic, he had 23 winners, only eight unforced errors. This caps a remarkable reboot for Federer, who departed Wimbledon a year ago with a lot of doubts: His body was letting him down for the first time in his career. He skipped the Rio Olympics, the U.S. Open and everything else in an attempt to try to get healthy. It worked. And how. Feeling refreshed and fully fit, Federer returned to the tour in January and was suddenly playing like the guy of old, rather than like an old guy. In a turn-back-the-clock moment, he faced rival Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final and, with a fifth-set comeback, won. It was Federer's 18th Grand Slam title, adding to his own record, and first in 4½ years. Those who had written Federer off needed to grab their erasers. The formula made sense, clearly, so why not try it again? Federer skipped this year's clay-court circuit to be in top shape for the grass courts he loves so dearly. Sunday's victory made Federer 31-2 in 2017, with a tour-leading five titles. "On one side, yes, it surprises me. On the other side, I know he's able to do so many things. So it's not surprising," coach Severin Luthi said. "But when it happens, it's amazing." Yes, Federer is back to being supreme in tennis, lording over the sport the way no man has. He's not, of course, the same 21-year-old kid who had a ponytail and scruff when he beat Mark Philippoussis in the 2003 Wimbledon final. Or the teen who, two years earlier, beat Sampras himself at Centre Court in the fourth round, their only tour-level meeting. Federer's hair is cropped, his face clean shaven. He's a father of four, and both sets of twins - boys, 3, in their light blue blazers; girls, 7, in their dresses - were in the guest box for Sunday's trophy ceremony. One son stuck a couple of fingers in his mouth until a sister grabbed his hand. "They have no clue what's going on. They think it's probably a nice view and a nice playground. But it's not quite like that here, so one day, hopefully, they'll understand," Federer said about his boys. As for the girls, he said: "They enjoy to watch a little bit. They come for the finals, I guess." When Dad is Roger Federer, you can wait until the last Sunday to show up. And you just might get to see him cradle that gold trophy. In pain and in tears, Marin Cilic never really had a chance. The big-serving Croat played with a blister on his left foot in Sunday's Wimbledon final against Roger Federer. Cilic looked good for a while, but the injury quickly got worse as Federer quickly got better and won 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. "It was definitely one of the unfortunate days for me," Cilic said after losing on Centre Court. "Fluid just came down under my callous in the foot. ... Every time I had to do a reaction fast - fast change of movement - I was unable to do that." Cilic said he first felt the blister during his four-set victory over Sam Querrey in the semifinals. The 2014 U.S. Open champion said it wasn't that bad on Friday, but it got more serious that night. "I felt that the foot wasn't so good. It wasn't so bad after the match," Cilic said. "We tried to take some fluid out overnight, and yesterday in the morning it was worse. The doctors and physios were trying to help as much as they could. They really did the best they could, really helped a lot." Cilic served to open the match against Federer, and both held to 2-2. Federer then broke twice to take the first set and then broke again early in the second to take a 3-0 lead. After that game, Cilic walked back to his changeover chair and broke down, tearing up as he covered his head with his white towel. "It was a mix of emotions. Obviously a little bit of a frustration that I had that, and also trying to focus on the other side," Cilic said. "It's a tough part when you're in that kind of situation. You know there is not much possibility that you're going to win. It's just actually fighting it through." After the second set, Cilic called for a trainer and had his left foot re-taped. Federer knew something was going on with Cilic, but he wasn't exactly sure what. "Because I didn't know and I couldn't tell, I just said; 'Focus on your game. Focus on your match. Keep playing,'" said Federer, who won his eighth Wimbledon title and 19th major overall. "The good thing is I was already in the lead." Cilic came into the match one victory from his second major championship. Despite a 1-6 record in their previous seven matches, Cilic beat Federer in straight sets in the U.S. Open semifinals three years ago on his way to the title. Federer followed that up by defeating Cilic last year in the Wimbledon quarterfinals, but Federer is 35 and Cilic, at 28, is one of the biggest hitters in the game. The injury, though, made Sunday's match a veritable walkover. "The first five, six games was really good tennis, exactly the way we were hoping, crowd was hoping, that it was going to be this great battle," said Jonas Bjorkman, Cilic's coach. "But unfortunately it was not meant to be. You could see he started not being able to push off as good and then he started giving us a little bit of a signal that it was not correct 100 percent again, so then obviously we knew that it was a problem." That problem never went away, but Cilic stayed in the match, trying to hold serve and struggling to even win one point when the ball was in Federer's hand. "I really wanted to give my best," Cilic said, "to try as much as I could."

Cebu Trip - The First Weekend
2-18-17
I remember waking up pretty early on this day, probably due to jetlag. After looking through snapchat and groupme of the people back home, I heard a knock on the door as my cousin Bernard greeted me and asked if I ate breakfast yet. I told him I haven’t and that I was planning of going downstairs so he accompanied me to eat breakfast in the restaurant that’s below my Lola’s house. There I ordered something I had been craving for a long ass time - longsilog. For the uninitiated, it’s filipino sausage known as longanisa with an egg and rice, though with mine I asked for fried rice... I think XD I also remember liking the Tropicana Twister which I’m pretty sure isn’t here in the state though I could be wrong. It was like the breakfast meal I always ate the last time I went to the Philippines, and it’s one I wish I could have here all the time in the states.
I chatted with Bernard about stuff in general like if I had any plans and whatnot but I told him I don’t really have anything planned. He said I should at least plan what I want to eat since I would only be there for two weeks and said I already ate one of those things, which was the lonsilog.
When we finished eating, we headed back upstairs and waited until lunch would be served. Yes, I know I woke up early, but by the time Bernard and I had eaten breakfast it was already like around 8 or 9 and my Lola usually eats lunch at 11:30. I’m pretty sure while waiting I was doing some WoW stuff, which was knew because I do remember last time not bringing my laptop nor having a connection in the house. Yay for tech upgrades :D
I’m probably going to mix up meals throughout these blogs since It’s been almost three weeks since that day but I think my Lola cooked porkchop? It’s bound to be something pig based since we eat every part of the pig in different ways, so I’m just going to say it was porkchop. They also said that Lola bought a crap ton of Royal Tru Orange because she knows how much I loved that soda. I do still love it, but considering that I was still planning of “watching” my weight I was hesitant to sip all of it. I ended up drinking at least two small bottles and maybe a third one as well = 3 = All in all, it was good and I was pretty stuffed.
After lunch, I took a long needed shower since the last time I showered was right before my plane trip. Then Patrick and I had to go to Ayala mall since we had to go get a sim card for my old Samsung galaxy s5 so that I have a phone to use in the Philippines. We waited for Carl to come by since we were going to borrow her other car, a hyundai matrix. When we got to the mall, we went to the section that had all the tech stuff and went to a stand to buy a sim card - globe to be specific. It had been a while since I used my s5 so holding it again compared to the slimmer google pixel was weird to me. But with a sim card in my phone and with text, voice, and data active, I was able to chat with people on the go again, which is always nice.
After we got the sim I remember wanting to eat french fries from a stand at the mall but wasn’t too sure what it was called. Patrick said it was potato corner and I was in disbelief because I know of a potato corner in the Garden State Mall in the states and didn’t figure it was related to the stand here. But once I saw the small stand I realized it’s the same thing - the main difference is that the one in the states did more than just fries (tots, chips, waffle fries, curly fries) but this one was bound to be just as good. Watching what I was eating, I decided to get the second smallest size, which was about the same as the small in the states, the only difference being that in the states they try and trick you by putting a tissue cone in the cup so that you end up getting less than what you thought you would (those damn capitalists!) But nevertheless, it was just as good as I remembered six or seven years ago.
After we got fries, we also went to get Zagu... or at least we were planning to. I think they moved because I don’t remember them being in an isolated spot, and when we got there we ended up getting Quickly’s instead. I was hoping to get buko pandan shake, but they didn’t have it  anymore for that day so I ended up getting Ube. It came with fruits in it that I have no idea what they were but it was a pretty good treat.
After we finished eating our snacks at a table in the food court, we were heading back to the car in the parking garage. We ended up staying outside the elevator for a few minutes because of the indecisiveness of my family in figuring out what they want to eat. Nah, just kidding. It was more a miscommunication because my Dad was saying one thing and my Mom and Carl were saying another. They finally decided to just have barbeque pork/chicken for dinner so when the plan was finalized we finally headed back to my Lola’s house.
We actually arrived at the same time as my Dad so I helped to bring his stuff back upstairs. He had gone ahead of my Mom and I to take care of some business here in the Philippines, and he had just come back from Manila. After helping him settle in, we had dinner and because I had been constantly eating, I remember being so full that I’m pretty sure with 95% confidence I passed out in my bed after eating. Which could be accurate considering I don’t really remember what else happened until the next day LOL
EDIT: So I just remembered that I did wake up again because we went to get Shakey’s pizza for midnight snack XD We got four pizzas and I told myself I’d only eat a few but I ended up eating like at least one of each pizza.
2-19-17
But what I do remember is waking up and doing wow dailies since I woke up mad early again due to passing out and just surfing through the internet. Then my Dad told me to get ready because we were going to go to church at 9 in the morning in a church that had AC. I obviously wasn’t going to argue with that because AC is love, AC is life in the Philippines LOL
So I ate breakfast downstairs with him getting topsilog this time (same thing as longsilog but instead of longanisa it was tappas, a meat) and then I showered afterwards. We decided to take an uber to the church and got there a little early. We went through the mass then took another uber to Ayala because my mom’s phone was acting up, so he wanted to go to where Patrick and I went to get my sim card to try and fix it. After it got fixed, we got Zagu since my mom wanted to also try it again and then we had to leave for a lunch with some of my relatives from my dad’s side of the family.
We took a cab to White Gold House which was a traditional chinese family style dining restaurant. And traditional in the sense that we had a room just for our family with the rotating circle in the center (the name slips my mind right now lol). It was mostly people from my Dad’s side of the family - one of my titos, a few of my cousins from my Dad’s cousins, and my Auntie Sandy and Ninong Roger as well, who were also in the Philippines (again, because they had to take care of some family business). The food was pretty good and Auntie Sandy gave the little kids there some gifts and candy, so you can imagine how hyper they were. All in good fun, of course.
After we ate lunch, we went back to Urgello (where my Lola’s house is) to pack up our stuff since we were going to go check in at a hotel for the first week. We had booked a room at Wellcome Hotel (no that’s not a typo) and it was a pretty nice room. Nice bathroom, space for me to set up my laptop and of course, AC :D Then we hung out at the hotel for a bit as we tried to figure out dinner plans. We decided to eat at a restaurant called Pino which had Filipino cuisine and it was eat all you can. Again, I was dying from being too full so I only went once for regular food. But they had Maha Blanca and puto and because I didn’t know if I’d be able to eat those again later on in the week, I pigged out on desserts. This made me overly full though so my Dad took me back to the hotel in a cab and then I passed out as he went back to the rest of my family at Pino.
Yeah, I was struggling the whole time with eating too much which causes me to get really sleepy. Expect to see that as a repeating thing throughout most of these posts for the Philippines lol
Also, credit to Patrick for reminding me what we did after we checked into Wellcome LOL I’m pretty sure he’ll be my main reference for my vacation so thanks Patrick if you’re reading this :D
