AAAA OMG CAN YOU PLEASE WRITE SOME MORE OF TOXIC LIGHT SMUT when i tell you im absolutely in love-
yes!! sorry this took forever omg
> warnings: smut, jealousy, some degreation
“I don’t know how I feel about working with a Second Kira. What if it’s a trap?”
You stand arms-crossed in Light’s bedroom, him sitting casually in his rolling chair near his desk, awaiting the arrival of the supposed Second Kira.
“I know what I’m doing. If this was a trap, how would L know about shinigami? Notebooks? Shinigami eyes? Just trust me, I’ve got this all under control.”
You did trust Light, of course. You placed your life in his hands the minute he revealed himself as Kira, and you wouldn’t change that for the world. Yet still, Light may be the brains, but it all felt too convenient. Someone, somehow suddenly has a death note, is a follower of Kira, and so eagerly wants to meet up with him? At no cost, no trick or catch? It just didn’t make sense.
“I don’t know, it feels too easy. I have a bad feeling.”
“I think,” Light stands up from his seated position, slowly walking towards you. “You’re a little jealous?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. I’m just worried.”
“Worried?” He traces the curve of your jawline with his index finger, radiating warmth from his calloused yet delicate, almost soft hands, the same ones that murdered thousands with the flick of a pen felt so graceful in the gentle way they caressed your skin, so beautiful in the way they moved methodically, like a choir director stroking music notes. “About me? Y/N, you know me. I’m not stupid enough to fall into a trap.”
“I know, I know, it’s just-”
You’re cut off with the loud ring of the doorbell, the sound pulling the attention of both you and Light as your heads turned towards the closed bedroom door. Silently, the two of you exit his bedroom, walking down the stairs and into the living room to open the front door, revealing a petite blonde girl clad in a black dress, strips of patterned lace decorating her carefully put together outfit. She was gorgeous, yes; pretty and feminine in a way that sank your heart. Was she trying to impress Kira? Or did it just come naturally to her, she was always this done up? You dug your nails into your palms.
“Good morning, my name is Misa Amane,” The girl spoke, “You left your notebook at school, so I brought it...”
Light stepped foreword, placing his hand on the small of your back to guide you outside as he shut the door behind you.
“Nice to meet you...I’m Misa Amane. I figured you’d be worried after what was on the TV, and I couldn’t wait any longer.”
You clenched your jaw a little tighter. Yes, the Kira broadcast on the TV, the one she made, the one that made Kira look stupid. Was she an idiot?
“This notebook...” She reached out her hands, offering out a small black notebook. Her death note? You glanced at Light, to which he responded with an assuring nod, before placing his two fingers on the death note. You did the same.
Your gaze rose up from the black book and back at Misa; behind the small-framed girl manifested a towering, looming figure, it’s bones a dusty white, spiking at its shoulders like spears. Her shinigami? It looked different than Ryuk.
Light rubbed the bridge of his nose before opening the front door back up, “Come on in.”
“Oh, you’re inviting me up to your room?” She stepped in, “Yay!”

“You don’t look to happy Y/N. Was it Misa?”
You roll your eyes at Light’s remark. Of course it was Misa. How could it not be Misa? Light flirted back with her, and he did it on purpose. All just to get a rise out of you- and you hate to admit it was working.
“Aw, are you a little jealous maybe? I think you’re overreacting.” He continued.
“Overreacting? She asked to be your girlfriend. She called you darling. And you were playing into it. I have a right to be upset, it’s not unjustified.”
‘I’m sorry...” Light slowly paces foreword, walking you backwards until your back hits the wall. He places his hands outstretched against the wall on either side of your head, almost trapping you, “Are you talking back to me?” He lowers his head, softy tracing your neck with the tip of his nose, excruciatingly careful not to let his lips touch your skin.
Nervously, you swallow hard, earning a smirk from the brunette. “N...No, Light. Of course not.”
“No who?” His fingers slowly graze your body, caressing your arms, your stomach, your waist; lower and lower, inching towards the place you wanted them most.
“No, Kira.”
“Good girl.” He remarks, finally dipping his fingers into your underwear. He runs his fingers along your slit teasingly. God, he was so arrogant, so pretentious, but you could never get enough.
“You’re so wet for me already? Loyal little girl.” He lifts his hand slightly so his middle finger rubs your clit in circles. You whimper in pleasure, you needed more.
“Kira, please.”
“Please what? I want you to beg for it.” He presses his finger harder against your clit, causing your knees to buckle slightly beneath you.
“Please Kira, I need you. Please, just finger me, I need something, just no more teasing.” You managed.
“Well since you asked so nicely~” Light dips two slender fingers inside you, pumping in and out, using his free thumb to circle your clit. He drank in your small moans and whines with a small smirk, picking up the rhythmic pace of his fingers each time your legs trembled, adding a third finger until you were reduced to a moaning mess. He curled his fingers inside of you, hitting your G-spot.
“Fuck, Kira.” You moaned as you road out your orgasm, your words muffled by the hand that now covered your mouth. Right, his parents were still home.
“K-Kira, please, I need more. Please, fuck me.”
“Oh?” Light pulls his hand from your panties, earning a whimper from you at the loss of heat. “You think you get to make demands like that after you misbehaved all night? After you got jealous of some girl? After you distrusted your god? Nuh-uh, on your knees, now.”
“But-” You attempted to protest before Light roughly shoved you onto the ground by your shoulders, leaving you on your knees in front of him.
“Now Y/N, show me just how much more you love me than Misa.”
------------------------
A/N: alright I wanted to put a disclaimer at the end cuz this one kinda felt... misogynistic?? LMFAO. honestly i hate the trope where there’s a girl friends with a guy and then another girl comes along and she hates her, it just gives a lot of “pick me” girl vibes. buttt i knew i wanted Y/N to be jealous in this one, and who else would she be jealous of than misa? so yeah, disclaimer over lmfao

ok ok so deathnote characters (melli near l and light) with a modern s/o but like the thing is is that they kinda fell through the sky whne l and light were at the park or something so they just look at the s/o like 👁👄👁 while the s/o comes running over explaining how much they love l ( and compleatly ignoring light)
I only did it with L and Light because I don’t seem the dynamic with all four of them working. I can see honestly everything else. Near obsessing over L’s darling or Light’s and the same for Mello and everything else. But I can’t think of this right now. I hope it’s still alright😕. I think I’ll make a separate post for Mello and Near later on.
Modern reader getting transported in Death Note
✍️Light knew already that there were more mysterious things that existed in this universe, the Shinigami following him and the note he had hidden in his room being proof enough of this. He would have lied if he had said he had never asked Ryuk if there were other things as well. But that damn Shinigami just shrugged with his shoulders. L was someone who had always relied more on logical things, but during the Kira case his view on the world changed a bit, accepting the fact that there were things beyond his knowledge.
✍️🍰But no one from the two had expected to witness what had happened on this day. They had just been sitting in the park and doing some small talk, both trying secretly to figure ways out how to win against the other. That was until they had suddenly saw something. For the shortest of seconds...the sky suddenly seemed to split in half, opening a hole before quickly going back to normal. What had that just been? Both of them just stared surprised at the sky. And then they had heard it. Screaming, at first only faint, but it had gotten louder and louder until they had seen a view that nearly caused them to drop their jaws. There you were, falling from who knows which height down. You were yelling something from not wanting to die like this, closing your eyes tightly and praying to whoever you believed in. But shortly before you could end like a pancake you suddenly slowed down, floating softly down and gently landing on the earth.
✍️🍰Both of them just stood there in shock, glancing with blinking eyes back and forth between the sky and you. There was no doubt in their minds that you had been falling through that hole from a few minutes before. But that didn’t help them what that had just been and who you were. You on the other hand had slowly opened your eyes, noticing that you weren’t dead yet and looking like a lost puppy confused around. That was until you were met with the clueless faces from L and Light, your gaze freezing on theirs.
✍️🍰For a few seconds they just looked at you and you just looked at them. That was until a sparkle started appearing and you instantly jumped to your feet and hurried to them, looking amazed at L, circling around him and observing him interested. And that’s when you asked with a hint of excitement if he was L? And that made both men tense up. From where did you know that. You took that as a yes and started instantly explaining that you were a huge fan of his, something from “him being your favorite from the Anime” and excitedly starting to ramble about how much you loved him and that he was incredibly cool. Light just stood there, feeling like he was somewhat in the wrong place. Why were you ignoring him?
✍️🍰L on the other hand was flustered, not only because you knew who he was, but also because of your enthusiasm towards him. By all means, he wasn’t used to suddenly be showered in compliments and praises like this. Not only that, but he was scared that someone would hear you because you had gotten louder and louder during your speech. So he just hushed you and asked you who you were. And you told him proudly your name. Light had gotten a bit awkward, not being okay with the fact of being ignored like this. That’s why he decided to finally step in, asking you what had just happened and why you had fallen from the sky. You turned your head in his direction, the smile you had given L slowly transforming into an frustrated and somewhat angry look, scoffing at him that he should just stay out of it.
✍️🍰L thought it would be the smartest to question you somewhere more private, bringing you into the basement where they were currently working on the Kira case. During the whole ride back there you kept talking to L, even going as far as interrupting Light whenever he tried to join. And Light slowly started to get pissed off by your disrespectful behavior. What was your problem?
✍️🍰The way you were being questioned was much more pleasant than what he had done with Misa and Light, looking more like a friendly chat under old friends. You were served some coffee and cake from Watari, L thinking that you would talk willingly. And you did indeed. By the end of your explanation you looked a bit embarrassed, L staring at you with a neutral expression on his face and Light quirking an eyebrow at you. He really wanted to think that you were nuts, but the fact that you had literally fallen from the sky kept him from labeling you as a lunatic. He did know that supernatural things existed, but this was a bit hard. You noticed that both of them were a bit unsure, offering to give them some proof before pulling your cellphone out and showing them some pictures you had saved about L. A lot of pictures. This seemed to fascinate L, taking your phone and scrolling through the pictures before asking you if you had some more proof. You did, but told him whilst glancing suspiciously at Light that you didn’t want to say this loudly. So you just whispered it in L’s ear, his eyes widening in surprise before giving you a intense look. You just laughed and told him that you wouldn’t tell anyone.
✍️🍰What did you tell him? You told him about the Wammy House and his two successors inside of there. And that managed to convince L, explaining later on that you would live somewhere near here and that this should be kept as a secret between him, Watari, you and Light. Light on the other hand still had his doubts, not fully believing yet that all of this was true. Later on in his room he talked to Ryuk, asking the Shinigami what he was thinking about this. Ryuk just laughed, looking clearly amused by something. When Light asked him annoyed what was so funny Ryuk gave him an answer that made him jump up in surprise. He hadn’t been able to see your name nor your life span above your head, emphasizing that he normally was able to see the name and life span of every human from this world.
✍️🍰That managed to convince Light because even though Ryuk was lazy, he wasn’t a liar. But that meant trouble. You had explained that in your world their world was an Anime, a show which people watched. And that meant that you knew about him. He had of course luck because you had explained that before being thrown into this world you had somewhat heard someone saying that you weren’t allowed to tell them anything too directly. But you were allowed to change the future. That meant if you would somewhat hint L that he was Kira it would be over for him. So what other choice did he have besides killing you. He only hoped that the name you had told him was the right one whilst busily writing down your name in his Death Note. But as soon as he had written it down something strange happened. Your name just disappeared. And no matter how much Light wrote it down, it kept getting erased.
✍️🍰What was that supposed to mean? Did that mean that he couldn’t kill you? Shinigami, tell him what that meant! Ryuk himself seemed surprised by this, chuckling and saying that this was so fun. But then he suggested that this Death Note, and other Death Notes as well, maybe didn’t have the power to kill someone from another universe. And that was just great for Light. The Death Note had always been his best weapon, but now it was useless. It was of course also a choice to kill you with his bare hands. But not only were you already very warily around him, he would also make himself the clear culprit since he was the only one besides Watari and L who knew about your true identity. Not to mention that you had been placed under great security system. What was he supposed to do now?!
✍️🍰You often spent time with the four who knew about your secret, talking with you about the case and L also showing a huge interest in your world and the Anime about his world. He was almost a bit disappointed when finding out that your world, minus Kira of course, was pretty much the same as his. And Light could clearly feel how you always glared silently at him, wishing that he could somehow get rid of you because due to your more hostile behavior towards him L had also started to get more suspicious. He needed to do something about you.
✍️🍰But he never got the chance too. Not because he couldn’t, there were moments where he could have easily gotten rid of you. But more because he slowly started to change his impression he had from you. At first he had thought that you were just an annoying fangirls from L, like all the others he had himself. But you weren’t. You were more than that. You were surprisingly witty and fun to be with. Not only that, but you were also hardworking and had a good heart. You were the kind of human he wanted to have in this rotten world. You were purehearted. Even to him you became a bit more friendly over time despite knowing who he was. He couldn’t help, but sometimes suddenly think that you must have been sent here for a reason. To be sent here from some force that wanted to show Light the embodiment of perfection. So he started to change his plans. Instead of killing you he decided to make you his goddess/god and not only ruling over his world, but over yours as well.
✍️🍰L had been obsessed with you the moment you had arrived here, only pouring fuel into his fire of obsession after proving to him from where you really were. He obsessed over the fact that there was so much more in this universe he didn’t know. What other secrets were out there? Due to this he probably didn’t even realize when his obsession started becoming more romantic towards you, needing a long time until he understood that he had fallen in an unhealthy love with you. And suddenly his questions started revolving only around you, wanting to know very private things about you which even caused you to become uncomfortable.
✍️🍰L had a huge advantage in here because he was your favorite from everyone in Death Note. And that was unacceptable for Light. Why would you, his future queen/king want to spend any time with him? An sugar addicted insomniac? You should realize that Light was your future king, your god, your protector, your everything. But you just ignored him, choosing always L over him. And Light just knew that that bastard enjoyed it.
✍️🍰Both of them knew of their feelings for you and none of them was ecstatic about this. But L had the better cards in this games, being able to convince you into spending the majority of your time with him. And Light couldn’t do much about it, having to bite his tongue whenever he saw the both of you together and almost storming over and rip that guy away from you when he was touching you. The Death Note was maybe his preferred way of getting rid of every obstacle in his way, but by now he was ready to jump on L and strangle him because he didn’t even know that guy’s real name.
✍️🍰Another huge obstacle for Light was Misa, who was for him by now besides L the second biggest pain in his ass. Because you had told him one time before that he should feel glad to have someone as lovely as Misa as his girlfriend, always pushing him away with the words to better spend time with his girlfriend. Misa didn’t know about you for which Light was thankful, but whenever Misa touched him he couldn’t help, but cringe at this. What he wouldn’t have given to have you instead of Misa kissing him.
✍️🍰Now to the separate endings. If Light wins he will get rid of L, which will most likely sadden you very much even though you knew that this would happen. Light would at first try to keep you a secret from Misa, but he won’t be able to hide you forever from her and it will end with Light manipulating her into keeping an eye on you when he is busy with work. Light with his god complex would want to find a way back to your world to get rid of criminals and bad people in there as well. He won’t be just god of his world, but of yours as well. If L wins then you were able to push him with your subtle gestures and words into the right direction and helping him with convicting Light and Misa. L has a undeniable fascination with your world and would use the chance to explore it if he should ever get the chance too. He might find some sweets he hasn’t in his world. But I also believe that he would prefer to stay with you in his world since he is in his world able to keep you with him protect you.

My Pirate Lord and Our Life Ch. 17
Chapter 17
I was roused from sleep by a knocking sound. "Wake up sleepy heads. I've gotta be at work in an hour and we have a lot to talk about before then."
I groaned. "Five...more minutes."
"You've got five minutes to get dressed before I come in there and drag you both out of bed."
"I'm the captain, I don't take orders." Motonari called back grumpily.
"Five hundred years ago you were yes, but you ain't shit here."
"Misa!" I found myself shouting.
"Oooh, touchy on the hubs are we?" Misa said with amusement.
Motonari was laughing and I felt his breath tickling my chest, his head still cradled in my arms. I felt his gaze at me and I opened my eyes slightly, my vision still bleary from sleep, but that didn't take away from the handsomeness of his face nor his smile. "All the women in this time period mouthy as you and yer friend?" He asked me.
I playfully swatted at him. "We just know our worth now."
Motonari smiled at me as he stretched up to place a light kiss on my lips. "I don't know about the others, but yer worth more than any gold or coin...my greatest treasure."
I smiled at him and gave him a kiss in return. "We should probably get up though...she will come in here and rip the covers off of us...and I don't want to share the sight of you naked with anyone else."
Motonari grinned at me. "You possessive of me, m'lady?"
"You got a problem with it?"
"Nah, you be as greedy and possessive of me as ya want...because I don't share you neither."
We shared a few more good morning kisses before finally untangling ourselves from each other. I helped Motonari with the packaging on the clothes Misa had picked up for him and explained them. Pretty simple really. A long sleeve white t-shirt, black sweat pants, and socks. I then went to my dresser and started pulling out my clothes.
"What in the world is that? That don't look like enough fabric to cover nothin'." Motonari observed.
I smiled. "Well, it's meant for wearing under my clothes...though you will find most modern clothes much more revealing than what we wear back home." I replied, sliding on the pink cotton panties. I was then grabbing out a pair of black leggings, a black tank top, and a light-weight over-sized blue sweater. I pulled on the leggings and then the tank top and then the sweater, which had one shoulder hanging down.
Motonari was looking me up and down in my lounge wear. His eyes drinking in my form in a gratifying way. "And you say my pants are tight." He mused with a wicked grin.
I felt my cheeks redden. "These are called leggings. They're more casual wear. Worn for working out or just lounging around the house because they're super comfy...though it is becoming more common to wear them out and about for running errands and such."
"I like 'em." He said, a hungry look in his eyes.
"Well, you can appreciate them more later. We've got probably three seconds before Misa comes busting in here." I said.
Motonari slid on his gloves and then we were heading out of the room. As soon as we exited the room, I was hit with a familiar warm aroma. "What's that smell?" Motonari asked.
I breathed in the scent, feeling slightly invigorated just by the smell. "Coffee..." I breathed half in answer half in admiration of something I hadn't realized I had missed so much.
"Bout time you guys got out here." Misa remarked. "And I made the coffee figuring you would need it. I know I did after you two kept me up all night."
I felt my cheeks turn bright red. "We were being quiet." I replied.
"Your bed wasn't." Misa replied. "Pretty sure the neighbors could hear it squeaking, too. Also, my room is right next to yours."
My face was bright red so it took away from the glare I was giving Misa. I walked past her and went to grab a cup of coffee. I poured the coffee into my mug. I held it up to my nose for a moment, savoring the aroma, then I took a drinking, downing about half the cup. Feeling a bit more invigorated by the coffee already, I looked over at Misa. "You're just jealous because you're not getting any." I retorted.
"Damn, living in the past has definitely made you even spunkier." Misa replied, smiling.
Motonari was just grinning at me. "I thought alcohol was the only thing that made you that bold." He said.
"Different kind of bold...also it's just the way Misa and I have always been."
"Yeah, I didn't let her have much choice in that." Misa agreed.
Just then Sasuke was coming out of the bathroom. "You know, I have missed indoor plumbing." He said. He then looked at the coffee pot. "Oh my god, is that coffee?"
"Yup, help yourself." Misa said to him.
"Thank you." Sasuke replied, heading over to get himself a cup.
"What is this stuff anyways?" Motonari asked.
"The nectar of the gods." I answered. "You want me to make you a cup?"
He shook his head. "Nah, I'm fine."
I nodded. It's probably because Misa did the actual brewing and he doesn't know what goes into making it. I'll have to brew another pot later after Misa leaves. I thought to myself.
"Alright, so we have to figure out a few things." Misa said. "First, Sasuke do you know about that wormhole yet?"
Sasuke shook his head. "Not yet completely." He answered. "From my calculations, the conditions should be right in about three to six weeks, but I don't have the location narrowed down just yet."
"That's not bad." I said.
"Well for the next three to six weeks, I assume you two will be staying here." Misa said looking at me and Motonari.
"As long as you don't mind." I replied.
"For one, your name is on the lease too." Misa replied. "For another, for me, you've been gone a month. I finally have you back even if it is for a short time. I wanna spend time with you and hear about your new life." She was then turning a hard gaze onto Motonari. "And YOU, I have to interrogate."
Motonari grinned. "You really think it's a good idea to interrogate a pirate?"
"Or someone whose nickname is the God of Deceit." Sasuke added.
"Hey, you married my best friend without my blessing. I have every right to subject you to all kind of tests and questioning to make sure you're good enough for her."
"Misa." I said, my tone mildly scolding.
Motonari just grinned. "It's alright flower girl."
"See he's fine with it. Besides, it's just me keeping with that promise we made all those years ago." Misa said looking at me.
My face softened as I recalled the day. "You know I can protect myself right?"
"Yeah, says the girl who threw herself in front of my fist to protect someone she didn't even know...and then kept chasing after me...even when I intentionally turned my anger on you."
"Yeah, well you were just a sad and hurting kid...all of us were there." I replied.
"Yeah, but you were the one who turned your pain into something positive."
"Misa..."
Just then Misa's cell phone rang. She picked it up and answered. She spoke briefly and then sighed. "Looks like I'm going into work early. One of my patients went into labor. We'll talk more tonight. Ava your spare keys are in the drawer over there. Your car is still in the lot as well. The police brought it back when they realized there was no evidence in it about where you went. Also, I called the girls. They'll be here tonight for dinner."
"Just having a family reunion right off the bat huh?" I teased.
"Hey, we were all worried about you. Miss Mayuko is coming too. We all love you, you know."
I smiled. Feeling a mixture of warmth and guilt all at once. "I love you guys too."
"Alright, I'm off." Misa said before heading out the door.
"That was a lively exchange." Sasuke observed.
"Definitely." Motonari agreed.
I smiled and shrugged. I was then going to the fridge and rummaging through it. "Yes, we have everything to make omurice!"
"You don't gotta make breakfast, m'lady." Motonari said.
"I already had some cereal." Sasuke replied.
"Well, did it ever occur to either of you that I might want omurice?" I replied. Then I looked at Motonari. "Or that maybe I just wanted to make it for you like I said I would."
Motonari smiled at me. "Alright."
I got to work making the Omurice and brewing a fresh pot of coffee. Motonari and Sasuke sat at the table, Motonari asking Sasuke some questions about wormholes and how certain things worked in the modern world. Sasuke was more than happy to explain.
Once I had finished breakfast, I put the omurice on a plate and then took the ketchup and made a big red heart on it before setting it in front of Motonari with a cup of coffee. Sasuke had gone into the bathroom to finish getting ready for the day, as well as make some phone calls.
"So, this red sauce...it's ketchup?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yup, a sauce made from tomatoes. I believe there's sugar and vinegar as well."
Motonari smiled as he looked at the big heart on the omurice. He then leaned over and kissed me on the cheek.
I smiled at him. "Not that I'm complaining, but what was that for?"
"Just showin' my girl a little love." He answered.
I kissed his cheek back. "You seem like you're doing better than you were last night." I observed.
"That's you." He replied.
"What do you mean?"
"Just...why you gotta make me say it?" He asked, looking delightfully bashful.
I broke into a grin. "It's okay...but you know it is just the two of us right now...and no one back home will know..."
Motonari cut me off with a kiss. He broke the kiss to rest his forehead against mine, looking me in the eyes. "You just gave me exactly what I needed last night."
I smiled and lightly kissed his lips, hoping he could feel my love for him in that kiss. "You better eat that before it gets cold...and drink that coffee."
"Yer gettin' bossy on me now that we're in yer world." He teased.
"Hey, I know what's good here." I teased.
Motonari gave me another peck on the lips before turning to his breakfast and digging in. "This is pretty good...I might prefer the chilly sauce though."
After breakfast, Sasuke came back in and we all made a plan for the day. We were only a short drive from Kyoto, so we would take Sasuke to his apartment and from there he would make arrangements to get back into the university and talk with his professor and get to work on the calculations to get us home. In the meantime Motonari and me would be spending the day in the city where we would buy him some more clothes and I would show him around modern day Japan...the world he helped save.
Motonari and I went through a new version of our morning routines before going back to my room to get changed. Motonari wasn't a fan of the sweatpants, so he put his pants back on, but kept the white t-shirt. I rummaged through my dressers and closet and grabbed out some clothes.
"More undergarments of some kind?" Motonari asked, gesturing to my bra.
"Yeah...I'm really not looking forward to wearing this one." I said with a sigh. "One thing I have not missed, but I'd feel uncomfortable in my modern clothes not wearing it."
"What is it? Some kind of...cage for your breasts?"He asked.
"Though not the actual description, not a bad one." I replied. I pulled my sweater and tank top off and put on the lacy pink bra. It honestly felt a bit tighter and more uncomfortable than I remembered. I adjusted the straps and that helped some, but not quite enough.
Motonari was looking at me. "Definitely a cage...though does make 'em look nice." He said, grinning.
I looked into his red eyes as he said that...damn he looks as thirsty as he makes me feel most of the time. I thought to myself. Dammit, now I'm getting horny. I gave my cheeks a light slap, hoping the slight shock to my system would help. Then I went about getting dressed, pulling on a skirt that came to about my mid-thigh and a casual pale yellow blouse.
"You can go out with that much of yer legs showin'?" He asked.
"Yeah, I can go out showing a whole lot more in fact." I answered.
Motonari was then sliding his arm around my waist and pulling me close. "I'm gonna have to keep you close then."
I smiled at him. "I'll never complain about that."
We shared a few kisses before exiting my room and heading out to join Sasuke. I led them to my car, locking the apartment up behind me. "What's this...car?" Motonari asked.
"It's how we get around now. Much faster than a horse." I answered. "Remember, I told you, planes, trains, and automobiles. Turns trips that can take days into hours."
"Moving boxes of steel?" Motonari asked.
I nodded. "Glad you remember."
"I ain't ever gonna forget that."
"You know, I feel like I want to ask, but at the same time I don't." Sasuke said.
"Oh, just the first time I told him about the future, I was kind of doing it to mess with him." I replied.
"And yet it was all the truth." Motonari said. "Of course, I knew you were trying to screw with me then."
"Can you blame me, though?"
"Yeah." He answered with a teasing grin.
"Oh just for that, I am going to have some fun with you on this drive." I replied, opening the driver's side door and climbing in. Sasuke opened the passenger side back door and climbed in.
Motonari took the front seat and I instructed him on how to put on his seat belt before I turned the key and then shifted the car into gear. We soon got on the highway and were heading into Kyoto. Though I drove cautiously, I couldn't help but to drive just a tiny bit faster than needed and do a few little things to try and mess with Motonari, though of course nothing seemed to phase him.
Once we were in Kyoto, Sasuke directed me to his apartment and then I dropped him off. He already had Misa's number so he could call us when necessary and keep us updated. Now Motonari and I were alone in the car as I drove us through the city, looking for the best place to park.
"Ava."
"Hm?"
"What was that...that Misa was talkin' about this morning? 'Bout how you guys met and everything?" Motonari asked.
I knew it would come up eventually, but this was the one thing I'd never really told him about. My childhood. It's not that I didn't want to share it with him. I'd made my peace with the painful parts of it long ago. It just didn't feel right to tell him about my painful childhood memories when his were so much worse. "When I was about five...both of my parents died."
See what happens next below!

BNHA x Transfer Student
How would the boys react to a new student (Latina Edition)
Bakugo:
He is not happy that a new transfers student is coming
More extras to deal with
As soon as you enter the room, all eyes are on you
I mean what skin, those round eyes with long eyelashes, your curves
You are so different from all the girls he knows
Still and extra
Until you show your fighting skills
Then he's head over heels with you
You are quite small but feisty non the less. And have no problem putting people in place.
The first time he realized he liked you was when you cooked your famous Aji de Carne (a very typical soup from Ecuador, sorry I wouldn't know how you say it in English) with extra spice.
Bakugo and you have had many spicy ramen competitions. I believe, to be exact one-hundred thirty-seven, which of course you have won 90 times :)
Did I mention you have screaming matches at 11:30 pm, every single time.
When you came along, you spiced everything up. Not Iida or Kirishima could put you two in place
One time you were studying with the Bakusquad and your mother called
As soon as you opened your mouth and started ranting in Spanish, everyone looked dazzle
What the hell were you saying???
Mamá estoy bien, si si me acorde de ir a misa. No mamá no tengo novio y no voy a darle a ninguno de mis amigos con la chancleta. No! NO me PasEs a LA Tia!!
(I'm fine, yes I did remember to go to church. No I don't have a boyfriend, and no, I'm not going to hit my male friends with a shoe. No! NO don't pass me with my aunt!!)
Get the idea?
He is studying Spanish in secrecy. Not that he would ever ask you to help
Of course being the tsundere he is, Bakugo would never say he likes you, but you have a good idea by now that he'll do anything for you, so get advantage (*^^)v
Midoriya
Oh boy, he is very excited
I mean over the moon ready to explode excited
Who are you? Why did you came so late into the school year? From what country are you from? Female? Male? How do you look? Are you strong? What kind of quirk do you have?
His head is going 100 miles per hour
As soon as you enter the room, he becomes red as a tomato
I mean LoOk aT YoU!!!
Curvy, big ass, big boobs, lovely skin color. That chocolate brown silky hair
And you look soo good with that uniform
Not that looks matter to this cinnamon roll, but boy do you have the looks
Iida is the first to stand up to shake your hand, but because you are from Colombia you don't get the memo and right there and there you kiss his cheek as a hello
Tenya just freezes while everyone else gasps
That second you realize you did invade his personal space and start shaking your head like crazy telling them it is just they way people say hi in South America
Turns out that just like Izuku, you can ramble and talk and apologize very quickly and at the same time you get lost in your own little world
After the little incident, everyone gets used to your kisses and hugs
Quite the touchy girl ♱♡‿♡♰
Izuku is very nervous around you. It's like you take away his confidence just by looking at him
Y/n is so sweet, smart, loyal, funny and so pretty and... What the hell Izuku? Compose yourself
Yeah it doesn't take a genius to figure he has feelings for you. In fact it is almost painful how awkward he is around you
Unlike Bakugo, he asks you how to learn Spanish (just another reason to be near you)
But it will be a long time before he has the courage to ask you out
Todoroki
Awkward dense boy
He doesn't know how to feel about a transfer student
Good? Bad? Upset? Exited? Neutral? Should he even care?
Hi my name is Y/n. It's so good to finally meet you. I hope we can all be friends!
At first he is quite skeptical about you. And what's with that accent?
Although he has to admit it is quite cute how you stumble and struggle with your Japanese
It takes a while for him to fully accept you, but seeing as everyone else loves you (even Bakugo) He thinks he should give you a chance
The first time you actually bonded was when you taught him how to cook. (You know, so that his sister Fuyumi wouldn't cry (。•̀ᴗ-)✧)
He loves how you are so passionate about small stuff and how your eyes light up, specially when you talk so dearly about your mother and family in general
He thinks that your devotion to family is the best quality you have
One time you were singing El chico del departamento 12 by Selena at full volume so you really didn't see or hear Shoto coming from behind and he was shocked
How you dances at the rhythm of the music. Only a Latina could have that amount of rhythm and grace while dancing with so much passion
Although he didn't understand a single word from the song, he felt his mouth spread into a beautiful smile
Why? he has no idea
Remember DenSE BOy
He doesn't understand why he feels butterflies in his stomach or why his heart pumps each time he sees you
But after a long talk with his mother, he gets it
he loves you and he wouldn't allow himself to lose you

Reunion — Parent!L/Parent!GN!Reader
We finally got some L into the mix! This is honestly less focused on you and L’s relationship and more so on the family dynamic between all the other characters and you guys, plus your daughter! Everything’s pretty chill, no mentions of the Kira case, no angst. Just...happy. (Also, just wanted to mention that there are some jabs at people who stream for a living in this but that’s just Roger being a dick your job is valid no matter what <3)
(DN) = Daughter’s Name :)
WHERE? WHERE IS MY NIECE?”
“Jesus, Misa! Be careful!”
As soon as these voices were heard, Roger was sure that all peace and quiet for the day would be cast out the window. Even so, he put on a cheerful smile and exited the kitchen to greet yours and L’s bittersweet friends who had just begun removing their shoes to place in the neat shoe rack in the foyer.
“Ah, Light Yagami and Misa Amane, glad you could make it,” Roger began.
“Yes, it’s nice to meet you. I apologize for the short notice, but L had mentioned that it was his daughter’s birthday and we just had to attend,” Light explained with a faux, closed-eyed grin as he lifted a bag decorated like a birthday present for further explanation.
Roger nodded curtly and took the present from Light, holding out a hand to direct the couple towards the kitchen where the festivities were to be held for that evening.
Misa perked up again when she laid eyes upon the infant being bounced on your knee, giggling absentmindedly.
“There she is!” The enthusiastic blond squealed, practically shoving her boyfriend of three years out of the way to kneel in front of the babbling child like she was a god.
You giggled at her antics and let her squish your baby’s cheeks between her fingers. “Hi, Misa. It’s been a while.”
“I know! It has, hasn’t it?” Misa cooed, words directed at you but using the high pitched voice one uses to speak to a child nonetheless.
Light ambled into the kitchen hesitantly, eyeing L, who was standing over you as you sat on a stool at the counter, his hand on your shoulder while the other one resided in his pocket. Light nodded politely, his features stiff and his shoulders tense as if waiting for L to provoke him at any second. L easily picked up on Light’s careful movements and squared his shoulders, correcting his posture a bit though his dull expression never changed. Luckily, the tension was snapped when the front door opened once again and two college-age kids stepped into the cool interior of the fairly large home.
L seemed to relax more now that more people he was comfortable with began filing into the space. The pair in question — a lazily dressed brunet adorned with a cigarette and orange-tinted goggles as well as a leather clad blond with scar tissue occupying the left side of his face and arm — came through the threshold and packed themselves into the already tight-fitting kitchen, bickering with each other all the while.
“Matt, just put it over there.”
“No, I wanna give it to her now!”
“Be patient, asshat!”
“Hey, no language like that in front of the baby!”
You snapped your fingers to get the boys’ attention and gestured for them to just hand you their present already. Matt happily stepped forward and handed you a crudely wrapped gift. Not to mention, they had used crumpled newspaper and a length of thread to tie the gift together. Matt shot you a sheepish smile and admitted, “We couldn’t afford wrapping paper...”
“Aw, guys, this is more than enough! Thank you.” You glanced down at your daughter and allowed her tiny yet strong fingers to curl around your own. “Can you say ‘thank you’, (DN)?”
The little girl bouncing on your knee gazed up, recited gibberish at the two boys and stuck out her slimy tongue, drool slipping from the corner of her mouth.
“You’re welcome, little one.” The brunet patted the girl’s head and (DN) grabbed at his wrist. He let her tug his hand down and stare at his fingers in awe, even if her hands were covered in baby saliva.
Mello let out a subtle chuckle and pulled out one of the stools lined up at the counter in order to sit next to you. He gestured to the elegantly wrapped present and smirked, “Matt picked it out.”
Matt was too busy to hear this admission as he was wiggling his fingers in front of (DN)’s face, causing uncontrollable giggles to burst from her toothless mouth.
You puzzled at the gift for a moment before consulting L, who merely shrugged. You figured he of all people would know what the pair was capable of considering he had lived with them for a good amount of time, but he came up empty. Before you got a chance to open the gift, however, Roger piped up with a question for Matt.
“So, Matt, how’s your job been?”
Matt paused and stared blankly at the man who used to house him, caught off guard by the question, opening and closing his mouth like a beached fish. “Uh...fine. It’s been—”
“He’s been doing great.” Mello chimed in, glaring daggers at the man.
“Oh, that’s good to hear. Tell me, what is it you do, again?” Roger continued. Mello shifted his glance to Matt, an expectant and impatient expression laced onto his narrow features as if they had rehearsed this very conversation back at their apartment and had to follow a script.
“I’m a gaming streamer.” Matt choked and Mello could barely help but throw his head into his hands. “It’s a real job.”
“Oh, I’m sure it is, son.” The older man seemed to find triumph in the outcome of this conversation and retreated to the living room before the victory was taken from him.
“Nice one, man.”
“I’m sorry, okay!?”
“Hey, Matt, there’s no shame in doing what you love.” You offered kindly.
“It would help if it payed the bills...” Mello mumbled, to which you sent a harsh kick to his shin.
The lot of you were unable to hear the door open and close thanks to Mello’s yelp of pain and Matt’s howls of laughter, and as quiet as Near was it wasn’t a surprise to have him suddenly appear out of nowhere.
“There you are, Near! How’ve you been?” You greeted cheerily, hoping to make up for the white haired boy’s lack of enthusiasm.
The pajama wearing boy merely hummed and crouched down in front of your child, being able to since Misa was long gone, huddling up next to Light and chatting animatedly with Gevanni, who had escorted Near to the party. The baby bopped Near’s fluffy head with the flat of her palm. He didn’t seem to mind, though.
As Roger carried in the cake it was difficult to refrain from laughing as L’s eyelids practically disappeared, leaving most of the whites of his eyes visible. The light from the birthday candles flickered in his irises. It appeared that he was in some sort of trance. When the cake was set down on the countertop you turned so that your daughter was facing the treat, placing a gentle yet firm hand on L’s shoulder as he twitched as if he would lunge for the cake.
“Should we start singing then-?”
“No!” Chirped your daughter as she slapped a hand down into the icing, leaving a tiny handprint that claimed her piece of the marble cake.
Laughter was heard around the room and Roger shrugged as he began cutting everyone pieces of cake.
Once everyone was finished and (DN) was sufficiently covered in crumbs and icing, you all shifted to the living room to start opening presents.
As your little girl pawed are the first gift, a collective gasp echoed through the room when the front door all but burst open. The metal knob most likely dented the wall as it slammed. Roger winced, nothing on his mind but the time he’d spend on repairs.
“I’M HERE!” Matsuda announced with a boisterous laugh, delighted to see that the party was still in full swing. However, his ear to ear grin didn’t last long as he noticed everyone’s surprised and confused faces staring back at him.
“Did you invite him?” L whispered in your direction.
“Um...no I don’t think so.” You replied, putting a smile on your face nonetheless. You stood, handing your daughter over to L as she waved the half opened gift in his face to which he smiled lightly. “Hey, Matsuda! You’re just in time for presents!” You hugged him tightly around his waist, attempting to make up for how terrible you felt for not inviting him yet also curious how he got here if neither you or L had mentioned the occasion to him.
“Oh, good! I was sure I missed everything! I felt terrible! Oh, here.” Matsuda passed you a colorful, neatly wrapped package adorned with a festive silver bow. Your stomach dropped even further with guilt as you realized how much time he put into the gift. “Light told me about (DN)’s second birthday and I couldn’t miss it!”
You couldn’t help your lips from stretching into a wide smile when you looked back up at the usually forgetful and clumsy man. “Come on, wouldn’t want you to miss out,” you said, taking him by the hand and leading him to sit with everyone else.
“Alright, now just open our present already!” Matt exclaimed, practically bouncing up and down on the couch cushion. You laughed, not remembering the last time you saw him this excited. You assisted your daughter in getting the rest of the “wrapping paper” off of the gift inside. It was a case, almost like a DVD case but smaller, and as you flipped it around you could read “Call of Duty” on the cover.
“Call of Duty!” Matt shouted, throwing his fists in the air.
“As I already told you, I did not pick that out,” Mello defended.
“But now me and (DN) can play it together! Right, (DN)?”
Your little girl clapped enthusiastically at Matt’s offer.
“Great. Thanks, Matt.” L took the game from the still cheering girl on your lap and put it to the side.
After the rest of the presents were opened and wrapping paper littered the floor, people began to say their goodbyes. All of Wammy’s boys opted to stay and help clean up, sharing a beer afterwards. Well, more like Mello and Matt shared a beer. L helped himself to the leftover cake that had been set aside to be packed up into Tupperware. Near sat on the floor next to the counter, playing with (daughters name) and unboxing all of the new toys she had received from earlier.
“Oh, shit. Matt, we should get going soon. It’s getting dark and I gotta be up by five.”
“Since when have you been so business oriented?” You questioned with a smirk, referring to Mello’s new job at the chocolate shop. It wasn’t much and he knew that, but it was pretty much the only thing he was qualified for after spending the entirety of his high school years in the mafia.
“Since I was almost fired the other day.”
At the mention of this unfortunate event, Matt had to stifle a laugh as he elaborated, “Turns out businesses don’t like it when you take most of the merchandise home with you.”
“I swear, Jeevas, get in the fucking car.”
“Language!” Matt reminded with a devilish smile.
You swore Matt could have dropped dead with the glare Mello was sending his way. The brunet relented and gave you a goodbye hug once you stood from your perch on the stool. He then bent down and swiped (DN) from the floor.
“Hey,” Near began to protest.
“Oh, shut it, you fucking sheep.”
Matt covered the little girl’s ears and looked at the blond like he should know better. Mello rolled his eyes as tiny hands batted at the feathers adorning the collar of his floor length coat. “Hello.” He said plainly.
“Aw, c’mon, Mello! Hold her!” Matt insisted, holding the child out to the reluctant blond.
“I don’t wanna get spit all over me, thanks.”
“Think fast!” Matt literally threw your child into Mello’s arms, leaving him no choice other than to catch her from mid air.
“Don’t do that!” You scolded, leaning against L (who had just arrived by your side) out of pure relief that Mello possessed decent reflexes. Crumbs fell into your hair from the corners of L’s mouth as he wiped them clean, appearing to not be phased by your child taking a little flight.
L then stepped forward when he noticed the blond struggling with how to hold the infant, thrown off by her ever-moving limbs and intense gaze. Your poor postured husband adjusted the girl in his younger counterpart’s grasp so that he balanced her on his hip, arm supporting her bottom. He looked more nervous rather than disgusted.
“There you go.” L lightly patted Mello’s back, as if silently telling him that he was doing well.
“Yeah...this is fine...”
Near stood from the floor and shifted his gaze over to you, eyes soft and pleading. “May I hold her?”
“Really? Off to steal my thunder, are you?”
“You looked uncomfortable.”
“I’m always uncomfortable. It’s part of being me!” Your baby was then shielded from Near by Mello’s protective, feathery shoulder which (DN) had begun to chew on.
“Mihael, why don’t you let Near have a turn?” The blond boy tensed at the sound of his real name but, once he seemed to remember it was only coming from you, he thrust (DN) into Near’s chest, waiting for him to wrap his arms securely around her.
Matt twirled the car keys around his index finger. “C’mon, like you said it’s getting dark.”
“Oh, yeah.” Mello gave you a quick one armed hug, doing the same for L and heading out the door without even acknowledging Roger who was clearing up the now empty cake tray. “See ya.”
Gevanni made you nearly jump out of your skin as he appeared out of thin air to consult Near, who still rocked the baby in his arms, on what time he should start up the limousine.
“Now that I think about it, we should let our friends rest. It was lovely to see you three.” The white haired boy politely parted ways with you, climbing into the limousine and waving through the tinted window. (DN) flopped her tiny hand around in an uncoordinated wave. It was barely noticeable, but Near allowed a smile to pull at the corners of his lips as Gevanni drove away and out of sight.
You sighed, curling your fingers around L’s hand. “That was fun, seeing all of them again.”
“Yes, it was. We should do that more often.”
“We should actually invite Matsuda next time instead of waiting for him to show up. I enjoy his company.”
“If you say so.”
You slapped L’s shoulder with the back of your hand.
“Meanie.”

Traitor - Light Yagami x Reader (Death Note)
Day Thirty of Fictober 2019
Prompt number: #30 “I’m with you, you know that.”
Fandom: Death Note (Light Yagami x Reader)
Word Counts: 776 words.
Summary: Light learned that you might betray him.
You observe Light’s face tensing up as he stays incredibly silent, both of you waiting for Misa to show up so that he can explain the next move of the plan. Though, the atmosphere tonight is heavier than usual, your best friend since you two were little kids having only said a mere ‘hi’ to you when you joined him on the street, and you couldn’t help but think that you might have done something wrong.
“Light...” He looks at you from the corner of his eyes, grinding his teeth as soon as he sees your confused expression. “What’s going on?”
“I learned something interesting today.” A flash of anger seems to go through his eyes, making you worry. “You had an offer from L last night, had you not?”
You stare at him blankly, not quite understanding how he learned about that so quickly. But then again, he has known about a lot of things concerning you for the past few months, things no one could have ever known aside from you, so this shouldn’t surprise you.
“Yes.” He seems taken aback by your honesty, but he shouldn’t be, you’ve always been honest with him, haven’t you? “He said he’ll make sure I stay alive if I give him proof that you’re Kira… but I didn’t accept his offer.”
“You didn’t refuse it either.” His frown seems to deepen as he moves his body towards you, the young man towering you with his height. “Do you seriously think you can betray me that easily?”
“What- the hell is your problem?” Your confused expression turns to an annoyed one, taking him by surprise for the second time. “I didn’t accept or refuse the offer because if I did, I would have had to acknowledge that I know you’re Kira, which is something that might have made your plan failed. So instead, I acted as if I didn’t know anything, as if you were innocent and that L was too obsessed for his own good. And now… now you’re accusing me of betraying you?” You shake your head in disbelief before turning away, your feet already taking you somewhere else. “Unbelievable.”
“Wait, (Y/N)-” You stop in your tracks when you feel his fingers grab your right shoulder, slowly turning back to him to see that his expression has faltered into an apologetic one. “I-I’m sorry, I went into conclusions without listening to you-”
“Damn right, you did.” You glare at him for a moment before you give out a sigh, grabbing his hand still on your shoulder and intertwining your fingers with his. “I’m with you, you know that.”
“I know, it’s just…” He closes his eyes for a second, then gives out a small smile. “I just got scared and mad that you were gonna leave me because… well, you’re my best friend. And I don’t think I’ll ever survive a world you’re not in it.”
Your smile stretches out. “Why is everything you say both sweet and terrifying at the same time?”
He gives out a laugh, his free hand approaching your face to push away a few strands of hair from your eyes. “You know, Misa won’t be here for another minute...”
“Hm...” Your smile slowly turns to a smirk. “Are you asking me to help you cheat on your girlfriend?”
“She’s not my girlfriend-” You can’t help but let out a laugh at his annoyed expression. “Stop laughing! She’s not, okay? You know I’m just using her.”
“I know, but-” You tiptoed so your lips are a few inches from his. “-if she sees us together like that-”
“I won’t let her kill you.” He puts his forehead against yours, giving you the rare sight of him being open and relax. “No one can take you away from me.”
“See? Sweet and terrifying.” His smile widens at your words, though it’s when you give his lips a quick peck that a bright light seems to pass through his eyes. “Here. That’s all you’ll get for now.”
You free your hands from his and take a step back before he can protest, though he does give you an exaggerated pout until a blond figure suddenly jumps at him.
“Light!” She giggles happily while his expression turns to a very annoyed one, a chuckle getting out of your throat upon seeing him almost choking under the star’s embrace. “I missed you so much!”
“Hello to you too, Misa.”
You’re glad he got distracted by the blond because it gave you the opportunity to send the voice memo you just recorded to a certain detective.
Because between the world and your best friend, you choose the world.

Death Note 6
*******
“I wanted to talk to you about Light.”
She sighs, but opens the door and lets me walk inside, “Of course you do. I hear he’s in love with you. Why don’t you just tell him so he can break my heart already?”
“Tell him? Tell him what?”
“Tell him that you love him too. Don’t be stupid Chinami, I see the way you two look at each other. He will never look at me that way.”
I grab Misas hands and hold them in mine, “Misa, I came here today to tell you that I’m not in love with Light.”
She gasps, “Huh? You aren’t!?”
“Not in the slightest, I actually have feelings for someone else right now.”
“Someone else? Who?”
I look away, blushing, “It’s not important. I just want you to know that I’m not after Light. I don’t want to ruin your relationship.”
She smiles, “Thank you Chi. But seriously who do you like?! Now that we aren’t fighting over Light, we can have girl talks, it could be fun.”
“You won’t tell anyone, will you?”
“No, of course not. I will keep it a secret.”
“Fine,” I look down and mumble, “Ryuzaki.”
“What was that Chi? I didn’t quite hear you.”
“I have a crush on Ryuzaki!” I exclaim, a bit loud.
She gasps, “Really!? You guys would be so cute together awwww. So you like the older guys huh?”
I shake my head and laugh, “Misa, it’s only six years.”
“But still! This is so amazing! You need to tell Ryuzaki how you feel! What if he likes you back?”
“I already told him. I was going to talk to him about it this morning when I got up but-“
“What do you mean when you got up? Did he stay over your house?” She looks at me with wide eyes.
“Um yeah. But I guess he left before I woke up.”
“Aw I’m sorry. Now we can go on double dates! Me and Light and you and L! Oh this will be so much fun!”
I regret telling her, but I need her to trust me. Lawliet said she could be the second Kira. If I can keep surveillance on her and Light, that would be amazing. Plus it would be a big help to L.
“I agree, if you don’t mind, I think I’m going to go back downstairs and meet with the task force. Is that alright?”
Misa scoffs, “They’re boring but you go ahead. Have fun, make sure you get close to Ryuzaki.”
I blush and give her a hug before walking out of the room.
“Ready to go downstairs?”
I jump back holding my chest, “Oh my god Watari! Don’t scare me like that.”
“I’m sorry,” he says, smiling.
“Did you hear all of that?”
“Only some.”
“So the part about me liking L?”
“That is some, yes.”
“Don’t say anything about it okay Watari? I already told him how I feel and he ghosted me this morning.”
“Of course.”
We walk side by side all the way to the elevator. Once we get on, I hold onto the rail on the wall tightly. Elevators are a fear of mine. Just everything about them. The cables could snap at any time and the cart could fall and- my thoughts are cut off as the doors open. Watari walks out calmly while I jump out of the cart.
“The task force is right down there.” He says, pointing to a light at the end of the hall.
“Thank you.”
I walk down the hallway and enter the room. I notice everyone looking at me.
“Um hi?”
“Chinami! You need to leave now.” Light says rushing towards me.
I back away scared, “What-“
“Light get your hands off of her.” Ryuzaki says, not looking in our direction.
“Light what happened?”
“L seems to think that you may be involved with Kira. You might be helping them.”
Tears spring to my eyes, helping Kira? Why would I do such a thing? He told me his real name because he wanted to see if he would die.
“What? Why... why would I do that? Ryuzaki, I-“
“I did not say that. Light is merely upset because of how close we are.”
I look between Light and L. I brush Lights hands off of my arms and walk over to L.
“What did you tell them?” I say, look at the team as well.
“Miss Misora you can’t get mad at Ryuzaki for telling us we-“
“Shut up Aizawa. Ryuzaki what did you tell them!?”
He looks up at me from his crouch on the chair, “I told them of the mere possibility of a romantic relationship between the two of us. Light is upset because he loves you and thinks I’m a bad guy. Chief Yagami is mad at me for making his son upset. Aizawa frankly just doesn’t care. But Matsuda seems heart broken as well.”
I look over to see Matsuda with his head in his hands, sitting by L.
“Ryuzaki, I’m only going to tell you this once. Stuff like that, is private between you and I, until we figure everything out.”
“I just thought that’s what ‘the boys’ talk to each other about. I wasn’t aware I was going to cause such commotion.”
I stand next to L and grab one of his cherry’s off the tray in front of him, “That’s how girls talk, love. Not boys.” I lean down and kiss his cheek.
“I’ll be leaving now, I’m sorry if any of you are upset but this is my life and I can make my own choices.”
I turn around and walk out of the room. Jeez Ryuzaki, you’re going to be the death of me.
“Chinami!”
I turn around to see Light running towards me. He grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. I gasp as his lips touch mine. What- he holds his hands in my hair and moves his lips against mine. He pulls away after I don’t reciprocate.
“Chinami, Ryuzaki is right. I do love you. I can’t be happy with Misa. I want you Chi. It’s Ryuzaki or me.”
I watch as he turns around and runs back into the building. What just happened? I don’t know how long I had been standing outside for before it started raining. Since I exited the back of the building, no one came out even after the task force is usually done.
“Chi, is that you?”
I turn around quickly, water flying in all directions. Watari is staring at me.
“Oh, Chi let’s get you some warm clothes.”
I nod and let Watari guide me into the building. He guides me to this room where L is sitting on a couch by a coffee table.
“Watari I-,” he gasps, “Chinami! Are you alright?” He comes over and wraps his arms around me.
“D-Don’t hug m-me. I’m w..wet.”
“Chi we thought you went home.”
“I was going to but...” did I want to tell him about Light?
“Whatever, never mind that. Let me get the bath turned on for you. Watari, can you run Chinami a warm bath?”
“Of course sir.”
“Thank you,” he says, turning back towards me, “Let’s get you some clothes.”
“Thank y-you.”
I sit down on the couch and watch as he pulls out a white shirt from his drawer. He glances back at me.
“Uh I don’t think my pants would fit you but I could-“
“No, it’s fine.”
Watari walks out of the bathroom, “The bath is ready for you, Ms Misora.”
“Thank you Watari.” I say, standing up and kissing his cheek.
I grab the shirt from L’s hand and kiss his cheek as well, “I’ll be back shortly.”
I take my time in bath as I let the warm water, warm up my cold body. When I feel ready, I hop out of the tub and dry off. I put my undergarments back on before pulling L’s shirt over my head.
“Chinami, are you alright?” I hear Ryuzaki say, lightly knocking on the door.
“Yes, I’ll be right out.” I brush through my hair with my fingers.
I open the door to see Ryuzaki standing there in awe. He looks shocked. I look down and then back up at him.
“Is... is something wrong?”
“Um no, nothing at all.” He blushes and turns away.
“Ry- Lawliet you don’t have to be shy with me. I love you, you can speak your mind.”
“Well I just, you look different is all.”
“Oh,” I respond, looking down, “a bad different?”
He looks up his eyes wide again, “Um no! Not at all, you um you look gorgeous actually.”
“Oh,” I blush and walk past him, “thank you. Um, where do you want me to sleep? I could take the couch uh...”
“No definitely not, Watari agreed to getting you situated into a room so you could have privacy and-“
“No,” I shout, interrupting him, “um I wanted to stay with you...”
“Oh,” he says, blushing, “sure. Just like-“
“Just like last night.” I say before he has the chance to finish.
He looks up at me and smiles, “Yeah, of course.”
We both lay down together, I lay my head on Ryu’s chest as he lays on his back.
“I like being like this with you Lawliet.”
I don’t hear anything from him so I look up, his eyes are filled with tears.
“Lawliet, are you okay?” I lean up on an elbow and run my fingers through his hair.
“I love you Chinami. Really, truly love you.”
I smile and lay my head back on his chest, “Yeah, I love you too Lawliet.”
*******
Sorry it took me so long to get this out 😔 I was really busy these past few days. Love y’all!

Peace is a lie - Episode one
(Peace is a lie) (Help sheet) (Episode one)
TW- violence, beheading, lightsaber battles and bad language
Catherine of Aragon moved her hand to grace the handle of the purple lightsaber resting on her belt. She glanced over at her partner, Jane Seymour who looked much calmer than she was. Jane had always been a peaceful one. Where Catherine would rather listen to the higher-ups and follow rules, Jane would follow her heart and that’s how they ended up coming back to the Jedi temple after their patrol with 2 force-sensitive children. Their names were Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard.
Katherine Howard was a shy girl with potential and when Aragon’s teaching failed to help her understand the ways of the force, Catherine of Aragon turned to Jane Seymour to help her. Jane took Katherine as her apprentice and taught her how the force controlled all things in the galaxy.
When Katherine learnt about balance and peace, her older cousin Anne would train with Catherine of Aragon and her goddaughter, Catherine Parr.
Anne Boleyn was outgoing and everything a Jedi wasn’t. Her form was careless and her attack was sloppy. She lacked discipline and self-control and her movements and actions were chaotic. Anne would always act on instinct and she almost drove her master to madness.
However, her best friend and training partner, Catherine Parr thought she was the greatest Padawan in the world.
Catherine Parr was just like her godmother, she was top of the class, always focused and her form was flawless. She was perfect.
Anne and Catherine’s first mission once they became Jedi, was to pick up a delivery of supplies on a small planet called Naboo. This is where our story begins.
Catherine Parr had just finished unloading the last of the supplies onto their ship and noticed that the loading bay unusually quiet,
“Annie?” Catherine boarded the ship only to find her best friend sleeping in the cockpit with her legs resting on the control panel. “Oh, my yoda- Annie! Aragon’s going to kill you!”
“She can’t kill me, it isn’t the Jedi way,” Anne grumbled as Catherine attempted to shove her feet back onto the floor.
“We didn’t come all this way for you to sleep, Anne.” Catherine huffed, “I need your help to me make a deal with the supplier, Jane didn’t give me enough credits.”
“And what should I do about it?” Anne grunted as she stood up to grab her lightsaber.
“Figure something out. Improvising is your area of expertise.” Catherine followed closely behind her friend.
“That’s not the only thing I’m good at.” Anne shot Cathy a knowing wink as she exited their ship, “Let’s go, BD-6.”
BD-6 was Anne’s droid. The BD unit is an exploration droid Designed to assist with exploration in remote and dangerous locations. So, it wasn’t much of a surprise that Anne found her small friend when investigating an imperial crash site with Katherine who later helped explain that BD-6 saved their lives when their ships’ hyperdrive started failing.
BD-6 jumped onto Anne’s shoulder as she headed over to the Gungan who sold them the supplies. The Gungans are tall humanoid creatures with a flexible structure and strong leg muscles which allowed them to live in the waters of Naboo. However, they would often trade supplies with the Jedi in exchange for money and their protection.
“Greetings-” Anne began,
“Misa already know you have little credits.” The Gungan answered, “Misa know you are Jedi.” Anne looked over at Cathy who just shrugged.
“So, do we have to pay?” Anne tried to bargin,
“Misa suggests you turn around.” The Guncan pointed behind them at their ship,
‘Wait, what?!” Anne Boleyn turned around just in time to see a masked figure load their final crate of supplies onto a speeder bike and drive off, “son of a-!”
Anne didn’t have time to ask questions, she didn’t even stop to hear what Cathy had to say before getting on a speeder bike of her own and chasing after the enemy.
“I’m very sorry, but I have to go,” Cathy said farewell to the Gungan and quickly boarded the remaining speeder bike and went off to find Anne.
She caught up to Annie pretty quickly and the sight she saw wasn’t what she hoped to see. Anne had acted on instinct and was now fighting the sith. There was no way Anne would survive this without help.
beeooop..?
“BD-6,” Cathy rushed over to the droid sitting on the back of Anne’s stolen speeder bike. “Send a message back to Catherine and Jane, tell them that a Sith has intercepted our mission, Annie’s fighting it and we need help!”
Anne Boleyn was way out of her depth, her green saber clashed with red and she felt weak as she was launched into the air for the second time. She could see Catherine Parr arrive in the corner of her eye and was obviously radioing something back to the Jedi council. Backup? Help? Anne would be killed if they ever found out about this. She needed to prove herself.
Anne couldn’t stand being underestimated, she wasn’t weak like Aragon said she was. She was a Jedi. Why wouldn’t anyone see that?!
The Boleyn girl decided to attack with everything she had. She started forming a plan and would try and confuse the inquisitor who went by the name of ‘Henry’.
It was all Cathy’s fault… yes, Catherine Parr was always so good at everything, that was the only thing standing in the way of her and becoming a Jedi master. Catherine couldn’t do something like this!
Wrong.
Anne was distracted and was knocked back by Henry who was about to behead her when a blue lightsaber suddenly blocked her vision, Catherine Parr had joined into the fight.
“I’ll kill you all!” Henry raged.
‘So much anger,’ Cathy force-pushed him away, she wasn’t good with one-to-one combat! “Annie?” Catherine glanced around the battle area, the only thing she saw was the inquisitor walking towards her, a sly look on his face as he spun the hilt of his lightsaber.
Henry was gaining ground as Cathy stood in a ready position. She couldn’t let herself get consumed by fear! Fear was the path to the Dark side. Henry threw his helmet off and towered over her, red light was emitting all around them. This is it.
Meanwhile, Anne watched from her deflated position on the floor. Her green lightsaber was out of reach and her best friend was about to be slaughtered by an inquisitor. Anne felt hopeless again, she was angry that they had got themselves into this situation, angry that she couldn’t do anything and feared for Cathy, she loved her! She wouldn’t let this happen.
Anne Boleyn pushed herself up off the landing pad that the two were fighting on and limped over to the fight, she used the force to grab her lightsaber on the way.
Catherine Parr was struggling to hold Henry off. She used her lightsaber to protect her from being beheaded but just wasn’t strong enough to hold it for much longer. Henry was pushing it back and Cathy started to feel like she was ready to die.
A swoop of green light illuminated the area and Anne was running towards them. Henry didn’t have time to react before Anne leapt into the air and used the blade of her saber to slice into Henry’s shoulder.
“Finally, a worthy opponent.” Henry force-pushed Catherine back into a nearby wall and readied himself to take on Boleyn.
Anne was overcome by anger, she charged towards Henry and their lightsabers clashed! Anne jumped back and spun her lightsaber back to her ready position. Henry did the same and they ran at each other one last time. Anne jumped into the air in the last second to catch henry off-guard and it worked! By the time Henry realised her plan, he was surrounded by Catherine of Aragon and Jane Seymour.
“Anne, go see to Cathy, we can take it from here.” Jane ignited her blade, ready to fight.
No….
“No!” Anne was high on adrenaline and had no intention of coming down, “This is my fight!” Anne Boleyn had changed, she wore a face of hatred and disgust, her eyes had turned a harsh yellow and she had sweat and blood seeping from her forehead.
“Anne Boleyn, that’s an order-”
“No! You never believed in me Catherine, now I’m going to prove why you should.” Anne force-pushed Aragon and Jane into the abandoned speeder bikes and directed her attention to Henry. “Let me show you how this ends.”
Henry was scared, he had never seen this happen to a Jedi before and started to back away. This wasn’t the plan! Anne thrust out her open hand in his direction and Henry stopped moving. Anne was now in control of his every move and she was ready to kill. Boleyn used her free hand to ready her lightsaber and Henry couldn’t fight the force that held him in place.
It was now Anne’s turn to do the killing, she let Henry go and he fell to the floor in a heap. Boleyn raised her lightsaber and a green light would be the last thing Henry saw before his head was removed from his shoulders.
Anna of Cleves, couldn’t help but watch with a smile. This was all going to plan.

A little sneak preview of my next fic in my Little Boy Light ‘verse that just so happens to fit into @sadieandmo’s Diapcember day 8: Comforted by caregiver!
Pairing: Light Yagami/Misa Amane & Light Yagami/Soichiro Yagami
Note: Told from Light’s little space. All misspellings are intentional.
Trigger Warning: Suicide attempt (though not directly mentioned)
Extra note: This story is a heartbreaker for me but darn it I’m trying to finish it. It’s just taking me longer than I’d like :P the OG post was too sad so this is here instead.
Note to @sadieandmo: Yes, I’m THAT anon XD I figured it was a good reason to show my face.
I’m sleeping for forever but it’s not real. I’m sleeping then not and back and forth over and over. When I finally get brave enough and open my eyes, I see Daddy’s face. He didn’t leave the whole time. That makes me feel a tiny bit happy.
I rub my eyes and do a little stretch. Bobo is still under my arm. I give him a hug. My hand goes and plays with one of the buttons on Daddy’s jacket. They’re fun to put my fingers on.
There’s heavy on my head then. Daddy’s hand, on my head. I look at him. He’s smiling but it’s sad. Is he sad about Mama too? I don’t know.
He doesn’t say about it. He asks, “Are you hungry, Light?”
I’m not, really. But I want Daddy to be not sad. I can’t have his sad and mine together. It’s too much.
“Yes, P’ease.” I say. I don’t want to take my thumb out of my mouth. I like the feel of it.
“What would you like?” He asks.
I want Milks is what I want. Mama keeps some in bottles of them in the fridgelator. But I don’t know if Daddy would give me them. I don’t know if I can ask. I want to but I don’t know.
I open my mouth, then I close it. I don’t know how to say my ask. I try and make me brave and do it, but no, my brave is all gonned. Mama took it with her. I chew my thumb.
“Light?” Daddy asks. His voice is worried.
I open my mouth but no words are coming out.
Try. I hear Mama saying in my head like when we did our escape.
I breathe in, and try saying, but it doesn’t come out loud.
Daddy puts his hand on my head. “It’s okay.” He says. What’s he saying about? I wasn’t listening. But I feel better a bit about my ask.
“I want milks.” I make me say it. “Mama keeps them in the fridgelator.”
I think Daddy is sup’ised, he goes still for a second. Then he nods. “Where?”
“On the shelf this way.” I say holding out my hand.
“Alright. Can you wait here for me to come back?” He asks.
I nod my head. I don’t want to be alone really, but I want milks enough to wait. Patience, Mama would say if she was here. It makes my heart happysad to hear her in my head. I want her to be back with me. But Daddy’s here. That’s something, even if it isn’t what I want right now. I think this is the first time I ever seen Daddy be so gentle with me. It’s nice. Usually Daddy is serious or yelly when he’s mad, but not today. I’m glad. If Daddy yelled today I think I might scream.
I get up so Daddy can and I sit back down. It’s like my sad in making it hard to get up. I give Bobo snuggles and talk to him on mute about my sad. He’s sad too. He likes how Mama snuggles with him in the night sometimes when we make him a snuggle sandwich. I tell him not to be sad, but he knows I am. It doesn’t work good. I want him to feel better but I can’t make me feel better even.
Daddy makes noise in the kitchen. I can’t make me move to watch him, but hearing is good too. It means I’m not all by myself. That’s nice. I just wish I knew if Mama was okay. Just thinking about it makes me so scared I can’t breathe. I want to not think but I used all my tired up and now I can’t not think. I want to watch cartoons but I worry they’ll make me miss Mama too much. So I sit, all knotted up in my thoughts.
Daddy comes back, after a long time when really it’s only been a little bit. Time isn’t being right today either. But there’s a bottle in his hand. I don’t like them when I can have milks instead, but it’s all I have. I’m not a small enough baby that I want a bottle, but I want the milks, and it’s all I have. I try and make my arm get it, but it’s too heavy. I have to wait until Daddy sits down. He’s worried, I feel it, but he’s still smiling for me. Even when I think he’s sad too.
I snuggle into Daddy’s side and he puts his arm around me like we done it forever, even though we never have. I make my arm finally move and I take the bottle. It goes in my mouth. The milks is warm. How did Daddy know I like them warm? I don’t know, but I have to say thank you later. It’s the most okay I been all day. I snuggle into Daddy and look up at him. He’s looking at me back, but there’s a feeling in his eyes I don’t know the word for. Before I can ask about it, he Hugs me big in a hug that smells just like him. With his smell and Mama’s milks I don’t feel so heavy anymore.
I go all floppy, like a noodle. I don’t think Daddy ever hugged me like this in my whole life. It was always quick quick, but not now. Now Daddy lets me hug him for a long time. I don’t know if I ever want to let go. I feel me getting smaller. Daddy is warm and safe. Mama’s milk makes me a little less sad. When my bottle is gone, I stay and snuggle Daddy more and my bottle falls out my hand. Daddy’s hand rubs my back, and it makes me sleepy even though my tired is gone. I have my hands all in his jacket. It’s like blankie but it smells like Daddy instead of Mama’s perfume.
“Better?” Daddy always asks in one word.
I nod. I don’t feel good but I’m not sad like I was afore.
Daddy moves a little to look at my face. “Do you need anything?” He asks, and I put my thumb in my mouth, thinking.
“Binky and B’ankie?” I ask. I don’ know if Daddy will get them.
“Can you wait here while I get them?”
My head says no and I hug tight. “Too lil’. Wan’ stay wi’ you p’ease, Daddy.”
Daddy looks sup’ised, but he smiles. I like his smiles. They’re better than chocolate.
Daddy and I get up and I hold his hand when we go to my room. It’s too scary to go ‘lone after... After... I can’t make me say it. I get Binky and Daddy gets Blankie. Binky goes In my mouth and I feel better, so much I almost don’t see it. The little black thing on the shelf. I never ‘membered it till now.
Mama always said about how her Mama and Daddy made home movies, and she wanted to make some. So she got a cambera and made some. Big me thought it was silly but it’s not now. We don’ have a video tape player thing, so Mama gotted them all on one DVD. I take it in it’s black case out from the shelf. I want to see.
Daddy gives me blankie, and we go.

bells (L lawliet x reader)
> warnings: ANGSTTT, major death note spoilers
> i know i altered the rain scene a bit and combined it with the monster speech but i thought it fit nicely okay let me live 😫
It wasn’t easy, working as part of the kira case. You knew that better than anyone. You knew that when you begged L to let you join the task force, and by the sorrowful look in his eyes in response to your request, he knew it too. What he also knew, though, was that you wouldn’t give up. No matter how many times he warned you of the dangers, “Y/N your heart could stop any minute,” “Y/N you’d have to say goodbye to your normal life,” “Y/N this puts us both in danger and i can’t lose you,” he knew all too well you would never let up. You would just persist on begging and begging, because you’re just like him. Stubborn. That’s just the thing he loved about you, but also the part of himself perhaps he hated the most. And so, he let you join the task force.
Now almost a year into the investigation, the large band of japanese police and american FBI agents dwindled down to a dedicated few, those who were willing to put their lives on the line to find kira. That few was you, L, Light Yagami, Cheif Yagami, Matsuda, Aizawa, and of course Watari. Misa tagged along too, living in the task force headquarters with everyone else though you weren’t sure exactly why. Maybe L kept her around because he couldn’t let go of the idea that she was the second kira. Stubborn. Though you didn’t agree with his theory, it wasn’t so bad having another girl around HQ.
“Hey Y/N, have you seen Ryuzaki around?” Light asked, walking into the main room placing a hand on your shoulder as you sat eyes glued to the surveillance footage you were to go over.
“Hmm, no actually. Haven’t seen him anywhere. Why, what’s up?” You turned around to face Light, the short nail of your thumb trapped between your front teeth; a habit you picked up from L.
“I don’t know it’s just... weird,” Light removes his hand to rub the back of his neck, “Usually Ryuzaki is always here going over something for the kira case, honestly it’s like the man never sleeps!” He lets out a laugh, and you smile too. It was hard to resist Light’s charm, he just had that effect on people. So charismatic, he couldn’t possibly be kira. Could he? “I guess it’s just strange not to see him anywhere.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I’ll look for him, I could use a break anyways.” You push yourself away from the desk, standing up from your chair to stretch with a groan before heading up the stairs- you had an idea of where he might be.
“Let me know when you find him, I’ve got some case stuff I want his opinion on.”
“Yes sir officer Yagami!” You did a soldier salute in his direction mockingly.
“Don’t call me that,” Light laughed with a wide smile and narrow eyes, a bright laugh that filled the echoey room. You smiled warmly. He wasn’t kira.
_____________
You push open the heavy metal door leading to the roof top of the tall building HQ was located at, your eyes meeting with a slouched figure drenched in rain water. You had a feeling he might be here.
“L!” You called, walking out into the heavy rainfall to collect him. What the hell was he doing out here? He paid no attention to your calls, only continuing to gaze outward at the buildings below.
“L! L, what are you doing out here? You’ll get sick, come on!” You approached him, tapping on his shoulder to get his attention.
“I hear the bells, Y/N,” L took in a deep breath, taking his time to inhale the scent of fresh rain water and cold crisp city air. His dark eyes were clouded with thought, though you couldn’t tell which thoughts.
“What are you talking about? C’mon, let’s get inside.”
“Y/N love, I fear we may be parting ways soon.”
“Huh?”
“I believe I may have bitten off more than I can chew, Y/N. I’ve encountered a monster. A monster who always tells lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance, you know? They’re much more cunning than other monsters. They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. I’ve encountered this monster and, well, I’m afraid I might be eaten by it. Because in truth,” He takes in another thoughtful breath, pushing his raven hair dripping with water away from his forehead, “I am that monster.”
Amongst the hard rain pattering against steel, the scattered cracks of thunder, the sound of your own heavy breaths, it all felt silent. So silent it hurt. You couldn’t breath, sure you felt yourself taking in breaths but it wasn’t enough. Your lungs felt cold and wet. It was like L stole your language capabilities, like he reduced you to a little kid who only used their vocal chords to cry. You wanted to cry. You wanted to say ‘L, what do you mean?’ but in your chest you knew what he meant. Because you heard the bells too.
“L,” You began,
“Lawliet.”
“Hm?”
“Lawliet,” He turned to face you, running his hands down your arms before taking your hands, enclosing your fingers in his, “That’s my real name. Lawliet.”
You blinked hard. Were you choking? Suffocating? “We’ll be alright,” You smiled, letting out a stiff breath, “You didn’t get the name ‘best detective in the world’ for nothing, right?”
L lightly moves a hand to the back of your head and places a soft kiss to your lips. You kiss back, tasting the remnants of buttercream and black coffee on his chapped lips. You rake his dark hair through your fingers before he pulls away all too soon.
“Mhm. Let’s go inside love, you’ll get sick.” He hummed.
_____________
Your eyes flutter open, hand instinctively floating to the space next to you expecting to find L, but all you felt was the smooth linen of hotel bed sheets fuzzy with loose balls of thread and cotton. You groan, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as you turn on your phone. Almost 9 AM? That’s late. Why wouldn’t L wake you?
You make your way down the stairs into the main HQ room, where the whole crew was gathered around a table studying the black notebook they collected from the yatsuba case. L, though, sat at his same chair, staring intensely at seemingly nothing, biting on his thumb nail.
“Ryuzaki, what’s the meaning of all this?” Matsuda asks raising his voice, “You’ve somehow gotten approval from another country to use the notebook for an execution?!”
“Watari, excellent work, thank you.” L ignores him completely. “First things first, please make arrangements to transport the notebook immediately.”
“Ryuzaki-” Light this time, “What are you trying to do?”
“I’m gonna try out the notebook for you.”
The task force all let out an audible gasp, including you.
“Ah, Y/N, you’re awake. I let you sleep in, I hope you don’t mind. You needed rest.”
“Wh- Ryuzaki, are you crazy? We know the notebook’s power is real, we’ve seen it before, how else do you think kira operates?!” You dismissed.
“And besides, who’s gonna write the name? If someone starts writing in the notebook, they’ll have to obey the 13 day rule and keep writing names forever!” Matsuda adds.
“It’s already been worked out, the person who will be writing names is a criminal scheduled to be executed in just over 13 days. If he’s still alive 13 days after writing the name, he’ll be pardoned from execution.”
You move closer to L, sitting in your usual seat next to him and take his hand, “But still...to sacrifice a life?-”
“We’re very close!” L yells, raising his fingers to rest at his temples, dropping his hand from yours. You look down at your feet. “If we work this out, the entire case will be solved.”
The flash of red from the monitors before you pulls your attention back up, the room illuminating a cherry hue like the toppings from L’s cake. An alarm begins to blare in your ear, sending your heart rate up as you jump from your chair. Matsuda holds on to your shoulder, concern painted all over his face. Jeez, he looks more scared than you. That’s Matsuda for you.
“What’s going on?! A blackout?!”
L sat calmly at his chair like nothing was wrong. You knew he wasn’t calm. He wasn’t chewing on his thumb. He was staring up at the red flashing monitor with a furrowed brow, his eyes full of deniel. Worry. L Lawliet, worrying. Who would have guessed.
The red hue of the computer screens flashed white all at once, one sentence displayed in black letters: All Data Deletion.
“Watari!” L cried. You had never seen him like this.
“Data deletion? What the hell is going on?!” Chief Yagami yelled impatiently.
“I told Watari that he should erase all information in the event that something were to happen to him.”
“If something were to happen... you don’t think?...”
“Where is the shinigami?!” L yelled.
You all frantically searched around the room, mumbles of “Where’d it go?” and “I don’t see it” filled the air. Tears brimmed your eyes as you scanned every corner of the room. This couldn’t be happening. This wasn’t happening.
“Everyone,” L called, “The shinigami-” He cut himself off, inhaling a quick sharp breath with wide eyes. He was still. No, no, no, no, no please this wasn’t happening. His metal spoon dropped to the floor with a loud clatter before he himself fell onto the cold tiling.
“Ryuzaki!” Light dove for him, cradling him in his arms as he lay silently struggling for air. You rushed over as well, sitting on the other side of him. You grasped his hand and brought it to your heart. “L, L, Lawliet, you’re fine, it’s okay stop it! This isn’t funny, STOP!” You yelled at him through voice cracks, struggling to swallow back sobs. He only stared back with wide eyes. Could he even see you? You brushed his thick ebony hair behind his ears and leaned in close. You could feel his shallow breathing on your nose. “It’s okay, it’s okay, you’re alright, right? We’re gonna be alright?” You begged of him. Did you expect him to respond?
Slowly, almost with hesitance to admit defeat, his eyes fluttered closed. No, god this wasn’t real. You were dreaming. “L! L stop it! Wake up, please just wake up. You can’t leave me here just wake up please!” You sobbed into his chest. It wasn’t moving. All the nights you fell asleep to the rhythm of his chest moving up and down with his breaths and his heartbeat following along- it was all gone. this was nothing like that. He was gone. And so you cried harder. Your throat hurt- sore from the sobbing and screaming. It was all you could do.
“Y/N...” Aizawa placed his hand on your shoulder, “Y/N, I’m sorry. it’s time to go.”
“Nuh-uh” You hummed through cries. You couldn’t bring yourself to say no. L would want it. But you weren’t letting him go. You weren’t giving up like that. Stubborn.
Aizawa crouched next to you. “I know...” He whispered. “You have to let go.”
You shook your head, you pleaded, begged for him to not take him. You needed him. But Aizawa was stronger than you. He walked around you, picking up L bridal style and taking him out of the room.
“No, no, please, Aizawa please! I need him, please,” You reached for L’s limp hand, but it only lifelessly fell from your grasp as Aizawa walked away.
You helplessly begged for L back, still crying tirelessly on the cold floor. For Aizawa to just let you hold him; keep him. Please, he’s fine, just let me have him, I’ll take care of him, please, I just need him. But nobody listened. It hurt. You almost thought you were next to have a heart attack because it hurt. And no matter how long you laid there crying, shaking, you didn’t stop. It didn’t stop hurting. Because you were stubborn. Just like him.

Who Said Death Was Easy? [Death Note] Chapter Fifty-two
Chapter Fifty-two: Deceit
L’s POV:
“I can count on you, yes?”
“First…you know how risky this plan is, right?” the voice on the other end replied. “I’m confident in my abilities, Ryuzaki-san, but this is a longshot.”
At this, L gave a slight smirk. It hadn’t been that long ago that he had spoken similar words to Keiko himself. He felt a twinge of amusement as he recalled Keiko’s response to him, “I know, I know…there’s a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t let me do this. It’s a long shot, it’s risky, and I’ve let Light manipulate me before, I’m still a rookie, I can let my emotions get to me…but please…let me do this. For you. This might be the only chance we have at saving your life.”
Truth be told, he had been hesitant to let her go through with her plan from the beginning. It had not been because of any of the reasons she had listed, but rather, it was because he cared about her. He didn’t want her to get hurt again if things went south. He didn’t want anything happening to her, especially if it was because of Light Yagami.
I was being truthful when I said I had nothing left to lose…but she…she has everything she could potentially lose. She’s already suffered a lot just being here and working on the investigation. I don’t want her to suffer anymore…but there was no way for me to refuse her…something in her eyes…that determination, that spark…and I’d be lying if I were to say that I wasn’t moved by her motivation to try and keep me alive. She quite literally gives me emotions I haven’t had for anyone else…and she’s mainly doing all of this for me…this is the only thing I can do for her, to help her with her plan. If possible, I want to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
“Ryuzaki-san?” the voice on the other side of the line repeated.
“Yes,” the detective replied. He knew what to do, and he was confident that they would help him. “I’m well aware of the possible risks. However, this whole investigation was a risk from the start. With any luck, the information you gather will help us finally put an end to it.”
“Very well,” the voice replied. “As long as you’re sure.”
I have to admit, Keiko was right, it isn’t like there are a lot of options left. Given the circumstances, this is all we can do. I know for a fact that Light’s already gotten in contact with Misa again…which means there isn’t a lot of time left. The sooner we can go through with Keiko’s plan, the better.
L opened his mouth to speak, “so, once again, I can count on you right?”
“Yes, you can count on me…” the voice confirmed, “you’re lucky that I’m damn good at my job, Ryuzaki-san.”
“Great, thank you. Watari will be in contact.”
With that, the other person hung up.
That settles that…now it’s time for my other contact…
“Well, well, well,” the voice spoke on the other line spoke once they picked up. “I was wondering when you would get a hold of me gain.”
“You’re inviting as always,” L responded, chucking a moment. “I’m calling because I will be needing your assistance once more.”
“Again? I’m intrigued, Ryuzaki-san. What’s going on now?”
“A lot,” the detective's tone was dry. He filled them in on the current ongoings of the investigation, slowly leading into Keiko’s plan. “It’s not perfect, but it’s the best plan we’ve got given the circumstances…there’s over a sixty percent chance that something will go wrong, but if we can pull it off, the case will be solved once and for all.”
“Sounds dangerous,” the voice replied. L could hear their intrigue. “You know I like dangerous…”
L chucked, as suspected, they’ll be willing to help…
“You know I’m in, Ryuzaki-san.”
/meanwhile/
Light’s POV:
“Misa-chan,” Light whispered into the phone as he stepped into the hallway. He spoke in a hushed tone. “What is it? Any updates?”
“You’ll be happy to know I managed to get in contact with Mikami,” Misa announced, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. “He said, as long as you’re truly Kira, then he’s willing to do anything you tell him.”
“Good,” Light replied. A grin spread across his face, “I’m glad to hear that. Listen, I can’t talk for long without arousing suspicion. I will get a hold of you two as soon as I can so the exchange can take place. Just be patient for now and wait for my signal.”
“Sure thing, Light-kun! Is there anything else you want me to do?”
“For the time being, no. Just take it easy, keep on killing criminals, and don’t arouse any suspicion, alright? I’ll talk to you later, Misa-chan.” Before Light could listen to Misa’s protests about ending the call too soon, he hung up.
Good good, everything’s going all according to plan…Rem’s demand put a dent in my plans, but soon it’ll be worth all this trouble. Soon I won’t have to deal with Misa at all, not after I get the new Kira situated…and once that happens, I can finally get rid of L once and for all…
/slight timeskip/
Keiko’s POV:
The first thing Keiko noticed when her boyfriend entered the room was the slight gleam in his eyes. Though his expression appeared to be normal, there was a twinge of arrogance in the way he walked over toward her. She swallowed hard, fighting to ignore the nerves growing in her stomach. It’s funny…in the past, I’d be swooning right about now. Everything I loved about him was all a lie. A lie to keep me from figuring out his true identity. A lie to keep me from discovering that he’s Kira. Everything I used to love about him somehow turned into everything I now hate about him…isn’t that ironic?
“Keiko-chan,” Light called out to her. Out of the corner of her eye, Keiko could feel L’s watchful eyes looking between her and her boyfriend.
Does he also sense something’s off about Light? Or is it just me imagining things? I’m not sure…ever since I discovered the truth I can’t bring myself to trust him again. I find myself questioning everything he does…I suppose that’s what finding out that your boyfriend is actually Kira does to you.
“You seem to be in a good mood,” Keiko remarked. Like Light, she also had to put on a show. She had to be the loving girlfriend, pretending that everything between them was okay. “What’s the occasion? Discover any new leads for the case?”
“Unfortunately no,” Light responded. He stopped short of where Keiko was sitting, a smirk appearing on his face. “But I was wanting to talk to you in private.”
You want to talk to me in private, eh? That’s certainly high on the list of things I don’t want to do…
“If that’s alright with you, of course,” he added, running a hand through his hair. Keiko figured he didn’t want to appear too eager, but she could still sense his prideful manner.
I see. Way to play it cool, Light Yagami...remind me again, what did I ever see in you?
“Sure, Light-kun,” Keiko stood up, letting her boyfriend lead her out of the room and into the hallway. With every step she took, she could feel the pit in her stomach growing larger and larger. Light stopped once the two were near the end of the hallway, which gave them just enough privacy.
But there’s one thing still bothering me. I know for a fact there’s still cameras hidden around in this hallway that L carefully monitors…Light knows that…that can only mean one thing; Light’s putting on another show!
A chill ran down Keiko’s spine as she realized.
So now he wants to play the doting boyfriend huh? I must have been right in my assumption, there’s something off about Light. Does this mean that he’s found someone to replace Misa as the second Kira? Does this mean he’s gotten in contact with them? Either way, I don’t like this…I know I have Rem on my side, therefore I shouldn’t worry too much, but…he’s far too confident right now! He must want to show L that he’s not worried about being caught or something. It’s off putting…
He took a step toward her, his close proximity was enough to make Keiko’s stomach churn.
“Keiko-chan.”
“Yes?” Keiko looked up at him. Despite her anxiety, she forced herself to smile. After all, it was imperative that she appeared normal in front of him. “What is it, Light-kun?”
“I know that you were hesitant about getting back together with me,” Light started.
Hesitant is quite an understatement. I never wanted to get back together with you. In fact, I swore I wouldn’t…but unfortunately, things have changed. I didn’t take you back because I wanted to be with you, but because it was safer for me and for L if I did. This is the only way I can keep a watchful eye on you.
“And for good reason, too,” Light added. “I know you thought that there was possibly something going on between Misa and I. And with the case…I know things didn’t look good. I just wanted to tell you that I’m happy you decided to give me another chance.”
Of course things didn’t look very good before! All the evidence pointed toward you! Things still don’t look good because I know that you’re Kira!
Keiko wanted to scream. Instead she said nothing. She could hear her heart thudding in her chest, this time out of worry and not out of love. Her romantic feelings for Light had been shattered long before Rem had officially announced his true identity. All the previous hope she had held was gone. The only emotions Light could make her feel now was fear and disgust.
“Are you alright?” Light questioned, noticing her silence. “Is something wrong? You don’t suspect that I’m seeing Misa behind your back, do you?”
Yes. In fact, I know you are…but don’t worry, I know it’s not because you want to date her…it’s only because she’s the second Kira! It’s only because you’ve deemed her useful!
“N-no,” Keiko managed to stutter out after a moment. She swallowed, attempting to put on a nice face for her boyfriend.
Think of something! Fast! You don’t want him thinking you distrust him, do you? You can’t wreck the progress you’ve made with him.
“I…” she trailed off, fishing for words. “It’s been hard lately, Light-kun. The investigation is taking a toll on me, I guess. After all, we’ve been at this for months…we thought we were so close to the end with Higuchi…and here we are, starting from the beginning again. It’s disheartening, to say the least.”
That will satisfy him, right? As long as he doesn’t think I’m mad at him or anything, I should be good…
Light reached forward, lightly grabbing Keiko’s hand. The touch was enough to make Keiko shiver, but not in a good way. Fortunately for her, it appeared that her boyfriend didn’t notice the difference.
“I know things are rough right now but I’m sure we can get through it. No, I know we will get through it,” Light told her. “We were able to track down Higuchi, and I’m sure we’ll be able to track down this new Kira.”
You mean to say that we’ll track down your next puppet…and this time, we’ll track you down as well. I will catch the two of you, together…after all, you think you’re fooling me…but I’m the one fooling you right now…it’s hard, as I’m not one for manipulation, but it’s a little easier if I just imagine myself as an actress playing a role. He’s playing a doting boyfriend, and I have to play a doting boyfriend. At least this time we’re more evenly matched…
This thought was comforting to Keiko. She could feel herself starting to relax a little. A soft chuckle escaped her lips, “you’re right as always, Light-kun. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Light responded, giving her hand a squeeze. He raised an eyebrow, a playful expression crossed his features, “would you like to know a secret?”
Keiko matched his gaze. “Hmm? What is it?”
Light leaned forward, brushing a stray strand of hair away from her face. “My secret is…this whole time, I’ve missed you, Keiko-chan.”
At this, Keiko mentally snorted, oh how cheesy. I sure bet you did…
“That’s hardly a secret,” Keiko found herself saying. She gave her boyfriend what she hoped was a flirty smile, not a grimace. “I’ve missed you too.”
I haven’t, but you don’t need to know that…
“Good,” Light remarked. “Do you want me to tell you another secret?”
Not really.
“Yes?”
Before Keiko could properly process what was going on, Light gently pushed her back up against the wall. Keiko gave a small gasp in shock, which caused him to smirk at her. He leaned forward, his face brushing her own.
“You’re cute when you’re caught off guard, you know,” he commented.
“Is that your secret?” Keiko responded. Though she somehow managed to keep her tone light, she was fuming on the inside.
What’s his motive?!
“No,” Light whispered. “But this is.”
With that, Light closed the gap between them and pressed his lips against hers. She wanted nothing more than to shove him away, but against her better judgement, she kissed back. There were warning bells ringing in her mind and she was hyper aware of the fact that she was, quite literally, kissing the enemy. Both her heart and her head was racing.
Calm down, Keiko, you have to calm down…just think, it’s normal for a boyfriend to want to kiss his girlfriend and vice versa…but…he’s not who I want to be kissing…he’s not L. Wait a moment! That’s it! L! Keiko smiled into the kiss as the perfect solution rang through her mind, just imagine that you’re kissing L! He’s the one who you want to kiss! Don’t imagine Light, but L! Come on, Keiko! You can do this...think about how you felt that night when you shared that kiss with him…
Taking Keiko’s reaction as a positive sign, Light deepened the kiss. His hands roamed her body, finding their way to her waist.
It’s not Light, Keiko reminded herself as she matched Light’s enthusiasm. She wrapped an arm around him, pulling him slightly closer, it’s L…
When Light finally pulled away, Keiko was feeling a little dizzy. “L,” she breathed out. Upon realizing what she had said, her eyes widened. She could feel the blood rushing to her face. Keiko was quick to correct herself, feigning a stutter. “L-L-Light-kun.”
I think I corrected myself in time…but that was close! At least it’s not as though Light would suspect I have feelings for L, as far as I know he thinks I only look up to him. But…still, it’s too risky to let my true emotions show like that! I can’t let a slip-up like that happen again, one too many times and he’ll start to suspect something’s up…
“T-that’s some secret,” Keiko commented. She figured she looked as nervous as she was on the inside.
Luckily for me, my nerves are probably working in my favor…
Light chuckled, “I figured you’d say that, Keiko-chan.”
It looked like Light had more to say, but their flirty conversation was cut short by a sudden cough coming from behind them. Started by the sudden noise, Keiko detached herself from her boyfriend, her gaze now fixated on the man standing before her.
It’s L! Keiko could feel her heart pounding in her chest once again, but this time not out of fear or disgust. Her thoughts raced through her mind, it’s one thing to know that he’s watching us from the cameras, but it’s another thing entirely knowing that he’s standing right there watching us! How much did he see? How much did he hear? Did…did he perhaps hear my little mishap?! This situation is already embarrassing enough, and if he heard that bit, I’m not sure I’d be able to recover…
“I’m sorry to interrupt such a tender moment,” the detective said, looking between the two of them, “but I’ve just received word from Watari-san that Kira struck again. There were more victims killed within the last few hours.”
Keiko studied Light’s reaction to this, but he kept a cool demeanor. “All within the last few hours? Hmm…yeah, we’d better look into this. With any luck, maybe we’ll find some sort of clue or patterns concerning this new Kira.”
“Exactly, Light-kun,” L replied, “we should get back to work.”
“Let’s go,” Light grabbed Keiko’s hand, starting to lead her down the hallway. The two were about to walk into the main room when she felt someone tugging on her arm.
“Kagami-san,” L started, “I’d like to have a quick word in private first.”
At this, Keiko gulped, me alone with L right now of all times? Can I really face him not knowing if he overheard me or not?
“Don’t keep her too long, Ryuzaki-san,” Light responded. He gave Keiko’s hand a quick squeeze before exiting the hallway, leaving her alone with the detective.
“Why is it you seem more scared to be alone with me, hm?” the detective questioned, leading Keiko to a private interrogation room. “Should I be worried?”
Ha, very funny. Does that mean he didn’t hear what I said? Or is he just trying to make light of the situation? On second thought, do I even want to know which one it is?
“What is it, Ryuzaki-san?” Keiko questioned, deciding it would be best to ignore his comment.
Let’s just focus on the investigation...even though that’s easier said than done.
“I wanted to give you an update.”
“Update…?” Keiko raised an eyebrow, “eh? Do you mean they agreed to help?!”
L nodded. “Yes. They both agreed…however, it still won’t be easy. We need solid evidence to convict Light Yagami. If Light or Misa notices they’re being tailed that’ll be an impossible task. But I thought about your plan…from what I figure, we should be okay as long as we get a lead about this new Kira from Misa…”
“And then the new Kira will give us the evidence we need to convict Light,” Keiko finished for him. She thought for a moment, “I doubt Light would slip up, but this new Kira…is he’s as loyal as Misa is, then all we need to do is trick him into giving us the information we need…”
“Exactly,” the detective chucked. “I came to that same conclusion.”
“So that means we wait until we get a lead?”
The detective gave a nod, “yes. I assume it’s only a matter of time.”
The two stared at each other for a moment, silence filling the room. Keiko was now blaringly aware of the situation; she was alone with the world’s greatest detective who may or may not have witnessed her making out with her boyfriend while imagining it was him.
Great. Just my luck, eh?
“I, uh,” Keiko started. She fished for the right words, “is that all?”
“I suppose it is, Kagami-san,” he replied. “Unless there’s something you’d like to tell me.”
Something I’d like to tell him? Does he mean….?! No, no, no, no…please don’t tell me he knows I was thinking about him while making out with Light! As much as I’d hypothetically love to be alone with L, I think it’s time to leave.
“Nope!” Keiko’s response was almost immediate. She flashed the detective a quick smile. “Nothing at all! I should go, Light-kun’s waiting for me!”
With that, Keiko gave a nod before exiting the room, attempting to regain her composure before she had to face Light.
L’s POV:
The detective gave a slight chuckle as he watched Keiko scramble out of the room. Her embarrassment was as clear as day, something that rather amused him. She always seemed to find some way to melt the ice in his heart.
My, my, looks like someone’s jumpy…however, this means I was right…there’s no second guessing or mistaking it, that was my name I heard her say.
He raised an eyebrow, so…she imagines me while kissing Light Yagami…? I can’t believe it. It wasn’t easy for me to admit, to realize, that I’m jealous of him for getting to kiss her. In fact, one of the reasons I interrupted them wasn’t because I had to update them on the Kira situation right away…that could have waited until after they returned to the main investigation room…and yet...I couldn’t stop myself from getting up. While he’s technically her boyfriend at the moment, I didn’t want to watch her kissing someone else.
The detective started his walk toward the main investigation room, still deep in thought. The kiss between Light and Keiko was now stuck on repeat in his mind, these feelings are new to me, but at least a part of me can remain happy because, unlike Light, I know Keiko’s true feelings…I’ve known from the start how Keiko feels about me, and it’s obvious from her plan to save me…but hearing her say that…which was quite clearly an accident, a mere slip of the tongue… shows just how deep her feelings toward me are.
Wait a moment, the detective’s eyes widened as a sudden realization dawned on him. He reached up, his finger lightly grazing his lips. He couldn’t stop his thoughts from wandering, perhaps…does that mean…Keiko would like it if I were to do what Light did to her? Would she like it if I pinned her against the wall and kissed her? Does she...does she want me to do this? Is that why it was so easy for her to imagine it? Has she imagined it before?
A shiver ran down his spine as he stepped into the main investigation room, his gaze lingering on Keiko. Her hair became slightly tousled as she shook her head, deep in a conversation with Light and his father. When she noticed his presence, she flashed a quick yet shy smile in his direction, causing L’s chest to tighten.
I have to admit, the thought of holding her close and kissing her...well, it’s almost too much to handle…
He sat down in his chair, still watching her every move, I’ve completely fallen for her…I know I realized it before but…after walking in on them, my feelings are once again confirmed; I really am in love with Keiko Kagami. Deeply in love...since I’ve already admitted it, there’s no going back now…
But, a shiver ran down his spine as the thought sunk in, based on both her words and actions, I can deduce that she’s in love with me, too.

So Close (L x Reader)
A/N: Requested by @god-like-eyebrows (and technically @lilredbird101 who asked me a while back to do more L pieces)! Hope it’s to your liking!
Lately, L’s mind had been mangled with thoughts, not just involving the Kira case...but also of you.
You sat beside him on a regular basis, helping him out with the case. You wrote down everything he said, making multiple discoveries and conclusions from his words when going through it all. He appreciated this, especially because it felt as if someone finally looked passed his peculiar quirks and habits. You even went with his idea of going with a secret identity. He didn’t find this suspicious since he had already interrogated you in the beginning to see if you were Kira, he merely saw it as you staying on the safe side and as an admiration for his way of thinking.
Despite the constant worry of either of your hearts suddenly stopping, you did your best to contribute and refused to be overlooked. Which the detective saw no point in; he never underestimated your potential. And it seemed as though the more you spent time with him, the more it felt like there was something between you two than just work. He wasn’t sure what it was exactly until he began to notice little things about you. Such as the shape of your body, how adorably your nose would scrunch up, the color of your cheeks whenever you’d get flustered.
And your eyes, god those eyes. They always seemed to have a certain sparkle to them.
“Liiiight!”
L’s thoughts were abruptly put to an end as Misa squealed for her “boyfriend’s” attention.
“What? What is it? I’m busy.” Light responded irritated, yanking back his arm from out of her grasp.
“I just wanted to know if you were busy tonight. I rented this movie I’ve been wanting to see with you. It’s a scary movie, so I’m going to need a big strong pair of arms to protect me!”
“No, Misa, I can’t. Ryuzaki and I have a lot of work we need to do for this case.”
Looking down at his hand chained up to Light’s, then sneaking a peek at you going through some papers at your desk, L came up with an idea.
“Actually Light,” he interrupted the couple’s arguing. “A movie night sounds like a good idea. But, how about we make it a double date?”
The pair looked at him, both their mouths open in bewilderment.
“Double date? Are you planning on bringing someone Ryuzaki?” Light asked.
“That’s right,” L directed his attention back at you, still focused on your own stuff. “I was hoping to have {NAME} join us as well.”
You rose your head up at the mention of your name.
“What was that?” You inquired, unaware of what was going on. “Did you need something Ryuzaki?”
“Yes, I was wondering if you’d care to join me on a double date with Light and Misa,”
“A-A date?” You stammered, cheeks reddening.
Was L asking you out?
“I’d be more than happy for your company while Light and Misa spent some time together,”
At that, Misa’s face glowed with delight.
“Oh, yes, please join us {NAME}!” She begged you. “With you there, it’ll definitely feel more like an actual date!”
You shifted your eyes to her, then to the two guys, and then to the rest of the team who were watching this enfold. You were officially on the spot. Biting your lip from nerves, you looked back at L.
“Um, okay,” you muttered. “If you don’t think I’ll be intruding.”
“Not at all,” he told you, discreetly hiding his elation.
Misa squealed once more before grabbing your hand.
“Let’s go find you something nice to wear for tonight,” she suggested.
You grunted as she dragged you up the stairs. L glanced up to watch you leave. He popped a marshmallow into his mouth and went back to work, a tiny smile crawling to his lips.
————
“You know, I always had a feeling that you had a thing for {NAME},” Light admitted to L as the two of them put all their work away and made their way upstairs to join you and Misa. “Just never thought you’d do anything about it.”
L shrugged in response.
“I saw an opportunity, and I took it. Although, I will admit, I don’t exactly have the best experience when it comes to dating like you. Is there anything I should know?”
“Just try to relax. All we’ll be doing is watching a movie in Misa’s room, so there probably won’t be much talking. And she must already like you enough to agree to this, so you don’t really have much to worry about.”
“I guess you’re right,” L agreed. “She does seem to like me, doesn’t she?”
Light hummed to second that. The two soon found themselves outside Misa’s room. After knocking, they were welcomed by the gleeful blonde who practically glomped herself onto Light. While Light attempted to detach himself, L nonchalantly walked to you on the couch. You greeted him with a timid smile.
“Hello Ryuzaki,”
“{NAME},” he said back, eyeing you in wonder.
You were wearing one of Misa’s gothic mini dresses and had your hair stylishly down. You face was painted with some makeup that included Smokey eyes and bright red lipstick. You noticed him checking you out and blushed.
“Misa did it,” you explained. “I told her it was a bit much for tonight, but she insisted.”
“It is a bit over the top for a night in,” he agreed. “But you do look nice.”
Embarrassed, you averted your eyes from him.
“I, um, brought a snack,” You brought up, picking up a medium sized tin bucket. “Since we’re planning to watch a movie, I thought it was conventional to bring popcorn. But given your love of sweets, I decided to bring caramel popcorn.”
You opened up the bucket and offered some to him. He reached out and grabbed a handful. Tasting the snack, he released a sound of approval.
“Mm, it’s quite good,” he commented. “Thank you {NAME}.”
You glanced back at him and giggled, your nervousness washing away somewhat.
“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Is there any sweet treat or fruit you don’t like?”
“I believe that’s classified information,” he stated. Though you may have detected a lightness to his tone.
Was he trying to flirt with you?
“So, shall we start the movie?” Misa jumped in.
“Oh, um, yeah, sure,” you stuttered, breaking out of the now unhinged thoughts that came to your head…
————
You and L sat yourselves on the floor as Misa and Light sat on the couch. During the climax of the film, Light had pretty much fallen asleep and lied back. Seeing this as an opportunity, Misa had lied down as well and snuggled into his chest. With the pair currently sound asleep, it was just you and L finishing up the rest of the film.
“Do you think she’s going to make it out?” You suddenly asked him, pointing to the heroine on the screen who was running from the villain.
“I’ve actually known since the beginning who’d live and who’d die,” he pointed out. “I can even say who the killer is, but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you in case you didn’t know.”
“Heh, should’ve known that you’d figure it out. You are the world’s greatest detective for a reason.”
“I suppose…” his voice trailed off, unexpectedly appearing distant.
You noticed this.
“Is something wrong?”
He looked to you. He was silent for a moment, as if finding the right words to say. Which you found strange due to him never seeming to care about how to properly get a point across.
“I still have trouble with figuring out things,” he admitted eventually. “Such as finding out who you really are {NAME}. You are the most closed off person I know besides myself, yet you are the one person, other than Kira, that I wish to know the most about.”
You stared at him in amazement, opening and closing your mouth as you tried deciding how to respond. Collecting your thoughts, you opened your mouth again to speak.
“{FULL NAME},”
“What’s that?”
“My name is {FULL NAME}. I’m originally from {BIRTHPLACE}. My mother is {MOM’s OCCUPATION}, and my father is {DAD’s OCCUPATION}. I’m a university student studying criminal justice and behavioral psychology that came to Japan to study abroad. That’s the gist of who I am. Anything else you wish to know, you can feel free to ask.”
His already big eyes stretched out slightly as he absorbed all the sudden information. You simply stared right back at him with a small smile that included an amused chuckled at his reaction.
“Why are you telling me all this?” He asked in a mumble.
He brought his folded legs even closer to his chest and kept them in place by wrapping his arms around them.
You continued to watch him, your smile now containing comforting warmth.
“Even if you won’t admit it out loud, I know this case has been getting the better of you. And since I know how big of a sore loser you are, I thought I’d let you have this one.”
He lifted his head off from his knee where he’d been resting his chin and looked at you. Your smile a teasing smirk from your last comment. Timidly, his face formed a smile of its own. He glanced at the floor and placed his thumb over his lips as he began to go into deep thought.
“Grapefruit,” he spat out a minute later.
“I’m sorry?” You asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You asked earlier if there was a sweet or a fruit I didn’t like. Grapefruit has always been too sour for my liking. And don’t get me started on dark chocolate. It’s so...blah!”
You couldn’t help but giggle at his statement and when he playfully shuddered while sticking his tongue out to illustrate his disgust. He really was too cute for his own good sometimes.
“It is pretty bitter, isn’t it?” You agreed.
Suddenly, you were interrupted by a loud scream from the long forgotten movie. This made you jump a bit from surprise, resulting in your hand grabbing ahold of his. Once you were over the initial shock, you looked over to him with a sheepish grin and slowly retrieved your hand as a blush began to form upon your cheeks.
“I, um, forgot that the movie was still on,” you shyly explained yourself, your attention given to the ground. “Sorry about that.”
With you still avoiding his reaction to the situation, you didn’t expect his hand to grab yours and have your fingers interlock. You looked back at him, your smile returning as you watched him observe your hands with a fascinated grin of his own.
“Don’t apologize,” he stated, his voice almost a whisper. His eyes returned to yours, giving your hand a squeeze. “This feels nice.”
The two of you continued to stare into each other’s eyes, slowly leaning closer with your hands still attached. Soon your lips were only inches away from connecting, eyelids beginning to shut. Both of you were on the verge of closing the small space when you were, once again, interrupted by the movie. This time, it was the sound of loud rock music that signified the start of the end credits.
“Looks like the movie’s over,” you pointed out in a hush.
Reluctantly, you broke eye contact, released your hand from his, and got up from your spot on the floor to turn off the television.
“Well, it’s getting late,” you breathed out, bashfully brushing some hair behind your ear. “I should get going.”
“Of course,” he complied, now focusing his gaze on his feet.
“Are you going to be okay? You know, considering…?”
You finished the rest of your question by pointing at Light and Misa’s sleeping figures on the couch. Light’s handcuffed hand dangling off of it.
“I’ll be fine,” he reassured you. “I can easily wake them once the situation calls for it.”
You simply nodded and began your walk to the door.
“See you tomorrow,”
You had made it to the door and had your hand on the knob when your ears picked up his soft voice.
“{NAME}?” He called out.
“Yes?” You responded nervously.
He stayed quiet for a few seconds while you patiently, yet anxiously, kept your feet planted and waited.
“Thank you for telling your name,” he finally said.
You were taken aback by this, but your smile had returned. With your heart becoming a beating nuisance, you made your way to where he was seated. His back was still to you, so he didn’t expect to have you bend down and place a kiss on his cheek. He snapped his head up and looked at your grinning form with a startled expression.
“Good night Ryuzaki,” you happily whispered before going back up and walking out.
He watched you leave and kept his eyes on the door with his hand on the pink cheek You pecked.
“I might actually be falling for you,” he softly deduced.

SAKANATACHI NO LOVE SONG - CHAPTER XXI
Summary: A Nogizaka46 fanfiction based on Sakanatachi No Love Song MV
Main Pairing: Shiraishi Mai X Nishino Nanase
[read on Wattpad || JPH!P]
Shiraishi Mai took a sip on her cup of matcha latte, looking out at the snow that starts to fall outside the warm building she’s currently seated in. She smiled a little when she realised it has been almost 10 months since the time she had woken up completely. Considering that right now she’s actually able to walk outside freely after everything she had been through sort of reassures her that the time has really come for her to pursue her happiness.
She looked at the small box in her right hand, carefully opening it to reveal a dazzling soft golden coloured circle, several diamonds form the shape of a flower on top of it.
Her father had given her the ring long ago, about a week after she told him that she feels horrible because she realised she likes girls instead of boys. Back then she was still 12 years old, so it was obviously too large for her tiny finger.
“This was your grandma’s.” She remembered his words as if it was just yesterday. “I think she would love you to have it so that someday when you find the girl that you want to spend the rest of your life with, you can give her this.”
Shiraishi took the tissue from the table to wipe the small tear from the corner of her eyes. Quickly shuts the box closed and slipped it back into her bag when her eyes spotted a familiar feature coming into the café.
The person threw her gaze around for a moment before catches Shiraishi’s raised hand. Shiraishi stood, her lips formed a hesitant friendly smile as she comes closer.
“Maiyan, it’s been a while.” Eto Misa said before engulfing her into a hug.
“It really is, how are you?” Shiraishi replied as they broke the hug and sit across of each other.
“My small business is going well, so all is good,” the girl winked as she snatched Shiraishi’s cup to sip a taste.
Shiraishi chuckled, realising that she missed having her friend around and also happy because after everything it seems like nothing is changed between them. Eto isn’t acting like Shiraishi has a grave somewhere out there and that is probably why she would say that the woman standing in front of her right now is her dearest friend.
Both of them chatted about the various light topic, ordered another cup of latte and some freshly baked muffins. A few times, Shiraishi wondered if she should ask the other woman for her opinion regarding the big question she has been considering, but then she decided against it.
She looked at the watch around her wrist and realised that the time she had allocated to spend with the old friend has come to an end. She directed the topic to one of the purposes of their current catch up.
“Anyway, have you seen Sayurin lately?”
“No, uhm, to be honest, the last time I’ve seen her was in your funeral and we weren’t even able to talk much as she was with 3 tall scary guys that pretty much creep every single guest out.” Eto reminisce. “Well rumour has it she took over her father business so that sort of explained the excessive bodyguard.”
Some part of Shiraishi had probably predicted that is going to be the answer.
“What’s with you and Ringo anyway? If I remember correctly the last time I mentioned her you said that you want nothing to do with her ever again.”
Shiraishi looked around, making sure no one is paying attention to their conversation before answering in a small voice, “I think she’s dealing drugs-”
“-well that’s obvious isn’t it, she’s leading a yakuza clan after all.” Eto cut her sentence in the middle.
“I wasn’t finished, I was trying to say that she’s probably dealing drugs from my company too.”
The two women exchange looks for a while before Eto leaned back, “and I take it you want to find her and tell her to leave your business out of it?”
“Well, Nogizaka isn’t meant to be a drug addict number one supplier. We are also in constant check of the government too. It worries me that there are a small portion of our stuff is being sold on the market for recreational purposes.”
Eto expression has changed into a serious one, “I’ve known you for years Maiyan, I know there’s another reason for you to set up a meeting for me here than just to ask that simple question. What is it?”
“I want you to help me trace the distribution of these drugs, I’ll fill you in for details on how they’re probably sending it to the customer and also what is sold. What I need is the names of the people who are involved, especially those inside my company and also help me to reach Sayurin.”
“Care to enlighten me on how you’re about to find out about these details?” Eto crossed her legs
“I already have them,” Shiraishi pulled out a flash disk from her handbag. “All I need is confirmation whether you can do it or not?”
When Eto gave her a sharp look, Shiraishi knows that she will need to tip the other girl with the truth to convince her to go.
“She was selling it to Nanase. She’s okay now but still, I don’t want that to ever happen again.”
Eto sighed, “let me be clear here, I will help you to look for whatever it is that you need, I will find out how to reach Ringo and bring her to talk to you in person but that’s it. I don’t want anything to do with her crew nor I want to be involved with your revenge agenda.”
“Fine, do as you wish.” Shiraishi slides the flash disk to Eto’s side, “The next government check is in twenty four days, I will need you to give me something by then. Is that doable for you?”
Eto nodded, “as long as the pay is decent anything is possible for me.”
“Good, just bill me whatever you want.” Shiraishi smiled a little.
“Maiyan, I’m saying this as your friend. I’ve known for years that you will always try to protect Nanase-san, but this is more than just shooting an old drunk. These guys are the real criminal. And no matter how much you hate Ringo- still she used to be her friend.”
Shiraishi took out her wallet and put several hundred of yen on the table. “That’s for me to worry about. Thanks for meeting me Misamisa, great to catch up with you.”
The other woman shook her head in disbelieves and pull Shiraishi into another hug, “I’m glad to see you well, I hope you care enough about yourself not to ruin it.”
Shiraishi says nothing and broke their hug. Giving the friend an assuring smile as if to say that she got everything to figure out and left the coffee shop.
As she sat on the comfortable seat of her car, her mind took her back to the reason she broke her friendship with Matsumura Sayuri. A reason that is not known by no one else but her, the girl, and Nishino Nanase.
It was actually about two weeks after that night where she had broken her arm from jumping out of Nishino’s house. That day, Nishino had to come back home for the regular social worker check. To tell the truth, a part of Shiraishi was starting to doubt that everything will work well according to plan. The time was spent mostly listening to the talk the uncle and niece are having with a middle-aged woman who’s been handling Nanase’s case ever since her parents passed away. That day she was as cautious as she could be, noting every single movement the man makes, she had even considered breaking the truth to the social worker. However, everything goes so well that she realised that maybe her plan was actually working.
And it was working. Even after the kind social worker had left the house, everything still peaceful. Seeing that the situation is under control, Nanase excuses herself to go upstairs to grab some of her leftover belongings to bring to the other girl’s home, while downstairs the uncle silently clean up the plates on the table and the left-over dishes.
Shiraishi somehow softens a bit and tried to help him, well as much as she could with an only left hand as her right was still on bandages and cast. That’s when she messed up, slipped and accidentally dropped the plates and glasses on her hands- making a pretty loud smashing sounds as it made contacts with the floor.
“Are you okay?” Came the worried sound from the man. She could feel a hand lay on her shoulder as he came into the view with eyes looking at her for an answer. Shiraishi tensed up suddenly remember the harm that very same hand had caused on her girlfriend.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!”
The scared scream was followed by a loud ear shattering-sound, much to the surprise of Shiraishi and the man himself. It was so loud that after it’s over, the silence that came feels daunting. It was probably three seconds after that the man let out a loud scream of pain, he turned his head to see his back where a bullet had nested its way there.
And behind the two of them, stood Nishino Nanase, her hand is shaking as it grips a silver gun tightly. Her eyes widened in horror.
“She w-was right… You would hurt Maiyan too,” the voice came out weak.
“HURT HER?” The man voice roared in anger, “you really want me to be the villain kid!? HERE I’LL BE THE VILLAIN.”
The guy grabbed the piece of plate on the floor, about to smash it onto Shiraishi but thankfully she was able to evade it in time. However, what both of them didn’t expect is three more loud bam of shooting sounds that follows after.
Shiraishi used to think that beginner luck is a total bullshit before that day where she saw a man dropped dead in front of her, a bullet went straight into his skull from the side.
Nishino Nanase was still pulling the trigger even after she had emptied all the ammunition of the firearm, her eyes watery and body trembling in fear.
That time, Shiraishi knows that they only have a couple of minutes before police came to check on them. She stood up, walk to where her girlfriend still standing stiffly, using her hand to gently pry the gun away from the girl.
“Nanase, listen to me. Soon someone will come to check on us and this is what we’re going to tell them okay.” Shiraishi gazes deep into the girl’s eyes. “He was shouting and threatening us. So I took the gun and shot him because I’m afraid he’s about to hurt you again. Do you understand me? It’s not you, it’s me. I was the one who shot him, the gun is mine.”
Nishino was looking at her like she’s lost. Her eyes are gazing into the distance, it looks like she still has a hard time to process what had happened. However, Shiraishi repeated the instruction, over and over and over again. Enough for the girl to finally able to work her brain to understand it fully.
“Nanase do you understand me?”
She finally nodded after a countless time the girl had asked her the question.
Shiraishi gave her a little smile, “good, now I need to know one thing. Who was it that gave you the gun?”
Again, her eyes catch the sight of the bloody lifeless body a few meters around them, a grim reminder of the crime that she had to commit. One that she had agreed to blame into the one she loves the most. She would have been lost in her own trail of thoughts again if not for a gentle-fingers slowly leading her gaze away.
“Nanase where did you get the gun from? Who was it?”
Shiraishi’s voice sounds so gentle, how is it that the girl isn’t running away from her? How is it that Shiraishi is asking Nishino to shift the murder onto her instead?
“Nanase please focus on me, it’s going to be okay.” She said. “Who gave you the gun?”
Somehow Nishino’s eyes started to water, she was finally able to comprehend the whole situation. The fault is all on her, Nishino was the one who had mistaken her uncle intention, she was the one who pulled the trigger without giving the guy a chance to explain himself. She was blinded by fear, one that concerns the safety of the one that she loves.
They can hear the sounds of the police car coming closer, followed by another question by Shiraishi who started to sound a bit panicked because she hasn’t given her the answer.
“Matsumura Sayuri.”
As soon as the name came out the older teenager smiled a little and give her a quick hug. Then, she walked to the front door, opening it for the police to comes inside.
To tell the truth, Shiraishi also blames herself for what happened that day. She over-reacted and it cause a man his life, while the man is far from the purest person in the world, what happened was still a murder, even worse she had tripped her own girlfriend to be the murderer. She knows that Nishino Nanase being an orphan has no chance to get out from the case without a guilty verdict. But a privileged girl from a wealthy family could with the exposure of the media and inner workings of money. Hence, she had twisted the truth, putting Nishino in a witness position as she becomes the sole suspect.
Still, a part of her seems to be looking for another person to blame, and this is where Matsumura Sayuri came. She was the one who gave Nishino the gun, convinced the girl that it’s the right thing to do. Her with the manipulative brain games that Shiraishi is always wary of. In the trial, she didn’t say anything about Matsumura, only mentioned how she got the gun from the black market of one of her acquittance. But outside, she had confronted the girl and basically say it loud and clear that she doesn’t want to see her anywhere near her or Nishino’s ever again. Her way of making sure the ever so cheerful girl to understands the extent Shiraishi loathes what she had done.
This is why Shiraishi is sure that Matsumura is the one who persuades her girlfriend into drugs. She is sure that for the second time her old friend used the Nishino’s weakness for her own gain and amusement. At times like this is where she wonders why on earth her father even let her have anything to do with the girl. Is the man actually involved in the distribution of the drugs? Is that why he treats Matsumura the same way with he treats any of Shiraishi’s friends despite knowing the truth about her family?
Shiraishi scoffed, her eyes scanning through the documents that her father was working on just before his passing. Trying to make sense of the situation in front of her.

47. Apple Pie
dslkfjads i know when we talked u said u were thinking of misa for this but what about??? sachiko???
Fingers dug into a flour bag and spread it over thecountertop until it was covered. Sachiko wiped her hands off on her skirt.White patches stuck to the pink fabric looking like snow on a flower patch. Outof a glass bowl, she pulled pie dough, put it on the white counter and pattedit. Sitting on top of a mound of flour, the dough was a curled animal waitingto be treated gently. To the side was a bowl of apples cut into eighths andcovered in cinnamon.
In the living room, Sayu brayed to her friend on her cellphone about their communications professor. Something about how he didn’t evenread their papers and graded them all on if he liked them or not. Sachikofrowned but her heart was easy. She didn’t approve of her daughter disparagingher professors but just the sound of Sayu was good. Her voice gave the house acheerful pulse that it lacked these days. Soichiro wasn’t around often. Lightdidn’t come over unless he needed to do laundry and even then, he brought Misawith him. He was supposed to join them for dinner tonight which meant she’dhave to set a place for Misa as well.
Sachiko pulled out a long wooden rolling pin and started tostretch the dough. Underneath her hands, the rolling pin pushed wave-likeagainst her palms. Each push was a mindless action, easy to do and then concentrateon other things. She opened the windows of her mind and let in some air to dustoff her thoughts.
She liked Misa just fine. There wasn’t much about her todislike beyond her continued girlishness, exaggerated by the mature figureLight struck next to her. Sachiko didn’t feel as though Misa was the bestchoice but at the very least she was a choice. For a long time, she had herdoubts Light would settle into a girl, find one that fit him, before he wasmuch older and she hadn’t expected Misa to be the one he made a home with. Shepictured a more elegant sort of woman at her son’s side, a woman who could holdher own in a conversation and challenged Light. Of course, one could nevertruly predict their child’s decisions and Light had always been such a discerningyoung man. Misa must have some quality to her that attracted him even ifSachiko didn’t see it.
Sayu snorted and Sachiko pushed her rolling pin to the veryedge of the dough. When they were children, she worried that Sayu might becovered by Light’s shadow. Once she started school, Sachiko and Soichirothought perhaps they might be lucky enough for two little geniuses. That outcomenever surfaced but Sayu didn’t seem upset to come home with poorer grades thanher brother. Rather than trail behind him, she walked beside Light with her ownaccomplishments—her social skills and a second place trophy from a youth soccerleague.
Leaning over, Sachiko closed oneeye and checked the dough’s thickness. Perfect. Slipping careful hands beneathit, she lifted the dough and carried it over to the pie tin. With a gentlegrace, she let it drape over the metal. Picking up a knife, she started to cutaway the excess dough when the house phone rang. She put the knife down, wipedher hands again and took the green plastic phone off the receiver.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Mom.” Light’s voice strainedfor politeness. “How are you?”
“Oh, I’m alright.” Sachiko triedto push down the worry welling up in her stomach. That strain only came throughwhen Light had bad news. “How funny that you called. I was just thinking ofyou.”
“Really?” Genuine surprise liftedLight’s tone and the worry faded a touch. “Why?”
“Well,” she said. “You rememberhow you used to eat all those apples when you were younger? I thought it mightbe nice to have apple pie for dessert tonight, just as something fun. What doyou think?”
“Hm? Oh. Yeah, that sounds great,Mom.” Rustling sounds in the background warned her he was at work. “It’s justthat, well, I don’t think Misa and I will be able to make it.”
Her heart sucked into itself anddropped. For a moment, Sachiko thought maybe she heard wrong. Perhaps the phonehad chopped Light’s words to make him cancel again.
“Are you sure?” The tentativepitch of her voice embarrassed her. To speak to her son in such a small way wasridiculous. “You haven’t come to dinner once this month.”
“I’ve just been,” Light paused, “busylately. You wouldn’t understand.”
“I’m your mother.” Sachiko let herwords go hard. “There’s a lot I can understand. But this is the third time you’vecanceled. I don’t want to tell you how to live your life but it tells a lotabout your character when you don’t stick to your plans.”
Light huffed but she knew he waslistening. When he got upset, that’s when she knew he absorbed what she said.It was the only time he left the door open a crack so she could come in.
“I just can’t come,” he said. “Idon’t see how that says anything about my character.”
“You shouldn’t cancel plans theday of,” she said. “It’s very rude. I didn’t raise you to be rude.”
“Mom.”
“Light.”
Something tapped and she picturedhim sitting in his little office, tapping his pencil to the desk in circles theway he used to when he did his homework. She’d seen his workplace and she knewhe didn’t like it. He hadn’t said as much but in his eyes, disappointmentsurfaced when he told her this cubicle was his. She remembered when Soichirofirst started and how his desk had been cluttered with their wedding photo, little framed pictures of Light and then Sayu. There were no pictures on Light’sdesk.
Light sighed and the tappingstopped.
“Alright,” he said. “We’ll bethere.”
“Good.” Sachiko grinned with a bitof unhappiness wedged between her teeth. “I’m very glad.”
“Of course.” A trickling laughbroke through the phone. It was so nice to hear Light laugh in his soft, sweetway. “Does that guilt trip work on Dad too?”
“Oh yes. But he usually gave memore heads up. I could prepare a better speech.”
Light let out a louder laugh thatsounded like plastic wrap ripping and discomfort spiked through Sachiko. She preferredhis other laugh.
“Okay,” Light said. “I have to gonow. But I’ll see you tonight.”
“Yes.” Sachiko twisted the phonecord around her finger. “I can’t wait to see you.”
Silence carved a canyon betweenthem before Light responded.
“Me too.” His tone was perfunctorybut beneath it was a strange solemn tone. “Good bye, Mom. I love you.”
She repeated the phrase back andthen hung up. On the counter, the pie sat with excess dough half cut andhanging on the side. Sayu cackled at something her friend said. Sachiko lookeddown at her skirt and shook her head. She’d need to change into something nicerfor dinner.

Death note
Chinami Misora’s POV
Outfit becomes important later
*******
“Cut it out Light! You’re not funny.” I say, pushing my friend away from me.
“Come on Chi, that guy was totally checking you out.”
“Shut up, I don’t care. I’m not interested. I only like intellectuals I can talk to without having to simplify things.”
Chinami Misora, seventeen. I’ve been living in Japan all my life, I can’t seem to remember what I’m forgetting all the time. I like- no scratch that. I love sweets. Anything sweet really. It’s a surprise I’m not overweight or have really bad skin. My best friend, Light Yagami, is in the same class as me. We’ve been in the same class since seventh grade when I came to this school. Now, roughly five years later, we’re closer than ever.
“Chinami, are we going to your house today?”
“No, I’d like to see your mom today.”
“You always want to see my mom.”
“Yeah. I guess I do.”
“Did you know she made brownies last night?”
I wanted to say no, but how could I lie, “I would say no, however when we met up this morning you smelled so delicious. I knew your mom made something.”
“Alright. Let’s go home.”
At the House
As Light and I walk inside, we’re stopped by Chief Yagami on his way out.
“Hey chief Yagami where you off to?”
“Hello, Chi. Just some office work to attend to.”
“Does this have to do with the Kira case? I heard he’s been picking people off for a while now. But they’re all criminals so far right?”
“I can’t really say much Ms. Misora. You’re not involved in the case.”
“I would love to be involved. Light goes with you some times! Wouldn’t I be able to tag along some time?”
Light and his father start speaking at the same time.
“No Chinami that’s stupid.”
“Chi, that’s not a smart choice.”
I sigh, “Please, even if it’s just for the day?”
Light and Chief Yagami look at each other for a few seconds. I’m not sure what they are thinking. Chief Yagami looks and me and nods his head.
“Come along now, we don’t have much time.”
We all hurry into the chief’s car as he drives to this office building.
“Sir this isn’t headquarters I-“
“I know Chinami. Once we enter I’m going to have to politely ask you to stay silent and just observe.”
I nod my head to scared to respond. What happens if I get hurt inside? I figured we would be going to headquarters to file through some papers. Light grabs my chin forcing me to look at him. He sends me a small smile before squeezing my hand. I smile back at him, still a little nervous.
“Let’s go in, shall we?” Chief Yagami says, looking back at us.
We all exit the car and walk into the building. I look around at all the empty open space. The building has no life, it’s not inviting. In fact, it’s sort of scary on the inside as well. I open my mouth to speak to Light but hear a voice before I can talk.
“Ah Light, Chief Yagami, you’re a little late, don’t you think?”
I look up to see this guy crouched in a chair, with dark raven hair. It’s very unruly, meaning it most likely hasn’t been brushed in a while. His back is turned to us so I can’t see his face.
“Yes, I’m sorry Ryuzaki. There were some complications at home.” The chief says.
“Are your wife and daughter alright? Or was it a problem with Light?”
“I don’t cause many problems, Ryuzaki.” Light replies, rolling his eyes.
“Light, I would like to speak to you about-“ he starts, turning around to look at us, “-oh uh hello.”
I send him a small wave at him with my free hand, the other one squeezing Lights hand.
“Who’s this?” The man says, glancing between Chief Yagami and Light.
His unruly hair covers his forehead, he has dark eye bags that are sort of attractive in a weird way. His eyes are dark as they glance between the two men standing next to me.
“Ryuzaki, this is my sons best friend, Chinami Misora. Chi, this is Ryuzaki, the head detective on the Kira case.”
I meet Ryuzakis eyes when I look up at him, “So you’re L?”
He breathes out a deep breath before answering, “Yes,” he looks away at Light, “Why is your best friend here?”
“She wanted to come and see everything I-“
“We cannot let just anyone inside this building. You all know that this is a secret base where we meet to talk about the Kira case.”
“I’m sorry, Ryuzaki,” I begin, “I can leave if you wish.”
He meets my eyes again as I look at him, “It would be-“
“LIGHT! Light I’ve missed you! Who is this? Is she one of your classmates? Why are you holding her hand?”
I look up to see Misa Amane, a popular face around here, running at us. I let go of Lights hand and step to the side, wrapping my arms around myself. Misa jumps on Light wrapping him in a tight hug. I can see him roll his eyes and keep his arms by his sides.
“Misa would you get off of me?” Light says, slightly pushing her off of him.
She turns towards me, “Who are you?”
“I- I’m Chinami Misora, pleased to meet you. I’m Lights best friend, I assume you’re his girlfriend.”
“Yes, I am! His only girlfriend! Nobody will ever take him away from me!”
My eyes widen as I glance at Light. He looks angered.
“Misa why don’t you and Light go on up to your room for a date?” Ryuzaki suggests.
Light sends him a harsh glare before running off with Misa. I continue to stand there, not knowing what to do.
“Chinami,” I hear my name being called so I glance over at Ryuzaki, “come here won’t you?”
I move closer to L, slowly until I’m standing right in front of him.
“Yes?”
His eyes meet mine, “Would you like a sweet?” He motions to the desk that, sure enough, has many pieces of candy and cake laid on it.
“Oh, sure.” I reach out to grab a strawberry flavored lollipop. I take off the plastic and stick the lollipop in my mouth. I fold up the plastic covering and lay it nicely back on the tray. I suck on the lollipop for a second before turning back towards Ryuzaki.
“Thank you very much.” I say, smiling.
“You’re very welcome,” he smiles back before turning to Chief Yagami, “ah, where were we?”
*******
I wrote this on the fly last night at 2 AM. I don’t know if y’all know Deathnote but Chinami Misora is my original character. I can’t wait for y’all to see how her story plays out.

I made myself cry writing this so now I gotta share.
This is “Tribute”. The wedding reception was in full swing. She and Light had had their first dance, him spinning her effortlessly on the dance floor. It was the Cinderella-at-the-ball moment she’d dreamed of her entire life. Surrounded by their friends, his family, she’d felt so very at home. Wrapped in his arms, her favorite place to be, she’d felt so in love, so safe, so cared for. When their first dance ended, she let go of him, and allowed him free from her grasp. The music changed to a slow waltz, and he took his mother’s hand for their dance together. A slow song gave Misa a chance to appreciate the beauty of the ballroom they were in now. It also gave her a moment to reflect on the magnitude of all she’d lost. She wished her parents were here to see this. Her mother and father would be so happy to see her this happy. She’d made sure to have two empty seats in the front row at the ceremony for them, so that they could symbolically be there to share in this joyous moment in her life. She’d saved two seats at the reception for them, too. So they wouldn’t miss out on the festivities. Light, mercifully, had completely understood why she wanted to do so, and supported her in that. A sliver of her consciousness, however small, wondered if it was because it was proof of what Violent crime could cause, and showed that Kira was avenging those victims, but she didn’t want to think about that. Not today. As he spun with his mother on the dance floor, Light caught a glance at his wife. She looked so overjoyed, and he was glad for that, but he also caught the longing glances she gave the two chairs they’d put by the head of the table. He could see that she was hurting for her parents. That she wished they were there. She would always hurt like that because of the man who killed them. But he was happy to honor them today. Because in a way, it honored him. Because it had been he who brought their killer to justice. He looked at his mother, who had hardly stopped crying through the whole ceremony, and looked so happy and proud of him. He couldn’t imagine being without both of his parents. He was happy that he still had his mom and Sayu, though he wished his dad were here to see this moment. Misa was probably feeling the same way about her dad. And Light was right. She missed him terribly, and that was why she had prepared a special tribute to him in lieu of a father-daughter dance. When Light and Sachiko had finished their dance, Misa got up on the stage where the DJ was set up. A microphone stand was set up, as was a projector at the back of the room. She was going to sing for him. “Thank you everyone.” She said, and a hush fell over the crowd. “Most of you that know me know that my parents were killed several years ago. I wanted to pay tribute to them today in many ways. They had seats saved at the ceremony, and here at the reception hall. And right now, I wanted to talk about my Dad.” She said, and smiled. “He was so funny and kind. He had such an incredible laugh that I couldn’t help laughing myself when he did, even if I didn’t know what was funny. He used to take me to pick flowers, and he liked putting one behind my ear. So I wanted to sing a song for him today, because if he was here right now, this would be our dance.” She waited until the projector had been cued up, before she had the music start. She used the microphone stand to anchor herself against her emotions, and began to sing. “Yes I'm gonna stay with him tonight I'll see you in the mornin' No of course, he won't drink and drive Can you say bye to mom for me? Oh you'll like him, he's really kind And he's funny like you sometimes And I found someone I really like Maybe for the first time A series of home movies began to play on the projector behind her, depicting moments with her and her father. No I don't need a jacket It's not that cold tonight And you worry, I get it But he's waiting outside Her father, smiling and bouncing her in his arms as a baby. Her father, tickling her as a toddler, and her squealing.
I swear on my heart That he's a good man I know you'll stay up late Just waiting for me You held me so tight Now someone else can But you were the first man that really loved me Her father, offering her flowers for valentines day, and dancing with a four year old version of herself on his shoes. Now you're driving to the airport Not just me you pick up anymore I've got eight days off coming up And I can only come home for four Her father, grinning at the camera, as she talked to him, and wrapped him in a hug. Yeah I just met his family They're just like you and mom He makes me really happy I think he might be the one, oh Her and her father on camera, playing cards and laughing. I swear on my heart That he's a good man I promise he loves me He'd never hurt me You held me so tight Now someone else can But you were the first man that really loved me Now you're on the driveway Faking a smile You wish you could tell him he doesn't deserve me So I had to stop the car and turn around To tell you you were the first man that really loved me The two of them, in matching mickey ears at Disneyland Tokyo the year before he passed, sharing a tight hug. And before they open up the doors I say I've never seen you cry before You say "You've never looked so beautiful You know you'll always be my little girl” A pause in the video, blank for a second, and then, as she sang the next verse, the most beautiful part of the video. You're looking at me, we’re walking down the aisle With tears in your eyes, maybe he deserves me You don't even know how much it means to me now That you were the first man that really loved me Herself at age seven, dressed in a white gown, playing wedding. Her father, holding her hand to walk her down the aisle. Oh, that really loved me, oh You really love me…” The last note hung in the air, washing over the crowd like surf. A tear went down her cheek as she finished, and as she looked out into the sea of faces, there was not one dry eye in all of them. She wiped the tear from her own eye, thankful she had worn waterproof mascara today so it didn’t run down her face. Then, the uproar of applause. She smiled, despite her tears. “Thank you.” Light offered his bride a hand, and helped her down from the stage. He wrapped his arms around her, and gave her a kiss. “I think he heard you.” Light said to her. She nodded, and glanced up at the chairs reserved for her parents, sun glowing on them. For just a second, two figures seemed to fill them, smiling. Misa grinned when she saw it. Her parents had come after all.
