heavy curtains are pushed aside, and the bright light of the sun pours in the bedroom.
' Good morning, Dr. Wuchlock! Rise and shine! '
from the blankets, slowly and cautiously, rouses a figure: tousled salt-and-pepper hair first, a confused face with an opaque right eye second, a wrinkle in the pillow having been stamped in the skin of his cheek. nn hand clenches almost convusely at the bedsheets, the other hand confusedly going for his glasses-
the stump of his forearm clashes with the wooded nighstand, making him jolt and groan in pain.
' Steady now, ' the young nurse is at his side in a moment, gently steadying the arm away from another trouble. glasses are placed on the man's face, hair carefully brushed away from his forehead.
the man sighs. ' Thank you... Melany, ' he struggles to remember her name as if his mind was shrouded in fog. ' No matter how many years pass, sometimes I still like to pretend I have my hand... it's a bit frustrating, at times. '
' That's alright- very normal, doctor. Do you remember what this phenomenon is called? You taught me yourself! '
another minute or so of silence. while Melany busies herself with straightening the blankets, the man slowly utters ' Phantom limb Syndrome? '
' Exactly! Nothing you can do about it, now- it is a persistant condition, after all, ' she chirps, pulling the blankets back from frail legs. ' But now, out of bed. I'll make you a nice breakfast, and then we'll see about the day, hmm?
there's a somewhat sad smile on the old man's face now. ' Ah, Melany... what would I do without you? '
' Not much, doctor! ' she chides him motherly, playfully, an hand gently tapping atop of his head. ' And this is precisely why I'm here to assist you! '
Tumblr media
' Steady now, ' Melany repeats, holding the old man by his forearms as she guides him to his deambulator. after a small intake of breath, she supervises him starting to move, and claps her hands once to express how proud she is of him for this simple, small feat. ' Now, slowly- to the table. Once you're about halfway through the room, I'll go make you breakfast, and still keep an eye on you! '
' Melany, ' he reassures her, legs gaining steadiness with each step. ' That's most unnecessary- this small walk doesn't tire me... '
' Just to be on the safe side, ' she answers back, keeping a watchful eye on him. true to her promise, once the item has carried him halfway across his goal, the living room table, she vanishes into the kitchen to start the food.
as frail as he is, there's still some leftover determination in his old bones: steadily, step after step, he's almost there-
a movement in the corner of his sight catches him off guard.
there's a young man sprawled on his couch.
cobalt hair have been woven in an high, elaborated ponytail, posture relaxed: a leg is elegantly crossed under the other, the realization that he's reading a familiar book and taking his time to read through the pages making him blink in confusion-
   blink. gone.
the man is gone. the couch is unoccupied, uncreased.
Melany's name is halfway out of his lips before he stops himself.
there's part of him that grows scared of an home invasion- but interrupting Melany and worrying her is something the dying ember of his pride prevents a possible call for help. he's not yet victim of hallucinations- perhaps it's something else. perhaps he hasn't been sleeping well, and it's catching up to him. just that.
with a sigh of mild frustration, he gains the upper hand on the table, safely landing in his chair as the scent of sizzling eggs fills the air.
the vision fades into the back of his fogged mind, forgotten in favor of the promise of a good breakfast.
Tumblr media
' Are the eggs good as every morning, Dr. Wuchlock? ' Melany asks, a cheeky smile on her face telling her that the answer is going to be the same as always:
' Excellent, and perfectly well-done as every morning, ' the old man confirms to her with a tremulous smile. ' you are very gifted: not a single time you have overdone them- though, I'd still eat them if you did, dear girl. '
she laughs, cheeks coloring red with the carerfree sound. ' You're such a flatterer! Since I'm this much of a good cook, you better lick your plate clean, mister! '
and how could he not? eggs and bacon, with a precisely toasted piece of bread. it's simple and filling, and delicious to boot. the old man has no need to be told twice. the plate is sparkling clean, having used the bread to scoop up the bacon-flavored oil from it.
life can be good, sometimes. he leans back in his chair, listening to the familiar sounds of Melany humming and cleaning around the house, buzzing like a bee-
' Every time I come here to look at you, I don't know how to feel about it. '
the foreign voice makes him jump, the fork clattering on the plate hard before it disappears under the table.
the young man with cobalt hair abandons the couch, the book in his hand dangling between two slender fingers before he drops it to the ground.
an home invasion. for a moment, the old man is paralyzed to the core with fear- he isn't in his prime, and can't protect her from an ill-intentioned stranger.
the stranger moves towards his large cabinet, the one containing a myriad of colorful, differently shaped bottle of liquor. it has been a long while since his eye rested on it, and an even longer while since he sampled one- Melany strictly forbade him to drink anything other than water and some very diluted soft drinks to not aggravate his condition.
the cabinet is locked- yet, with just a pressure of his finger over the lock, the glass door creacks open. gloved hands start rifling through the various bottles, an hand under each one with an unexpected care to not drop the heavier ones.
' My dad tells me that if I keep coming here, I'll never heal. ' a pause, the sound of words making the doctor tense up, on guard. ' But maybe I don't want to heal. I don't know. I'm conflicted. '
stress turns into perplexity, an anciently buried doctor's instinct: the surviving eye scans the young man for any of the injuries that he claims he's not wanting to heal from, and finds none: no tears in the skin, no bloody gashes. no bandages. the unharmed home invader appraises a skull-shaped bottle, studded with little Swarowski diamonds, and blinks at it with what Wuchlock can only call curiosity. he has not stolen anything... yet. But it seems that the alcohol has his full attention. he could do without a few, for all those were worth-
' Perhaps... ' he starts, throat dry. a little cleaning of it helps. ' Perhaps you should listen to your father...? Surely, he's well intentioned... '
the man stops any movement, going still as stone. it's the sudden expressionless, hard stare that pins the frail man to his seat, makes his surviving hand shake.
and suddendly the fog in his mind dissipates-
Tumblr media
his forearm grows numb and burns like liquid fire all the same. a trail of thick blood left behind him- a young, blond woman ishelped out of a septic tank, wrapped up in an unfamiliar dark robe, is tackles by a small, brown-haired boy as they both cling to eachother like lifelines. bloodshot, blue eyes look at him with nothing but hatred and contempt, judge him like many before.
' I hope this hurts, ' she hisses, holding her son close.
Jakob has escaped their clutches. all hopes to the grasp they had on the blonde being to test on is now lost.
   all because of him.
the demon with mismatched, empty eyes staring at him as he bleeds out on the floor- an expressionless face, hair wild and loose around it. an hunting, bloody knife in his hand. the one that hacked away his forearm, that still has his blood on it.
' Damn you and your kind, ' the wounded man hisses, tiles cold against his cheek before he lifts his head with the last of his strength. ' You ruined EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING, do you understand?! '
it says nothing. it simply stares, unforgiving and unbothered by the explosion of anger, the other members of its group escaping behind it. and then, just as its about to turn, it utters the words-
' an average human male can die by losing from two and half to four liters of blood, ' it coldly informs him, before closing the heavy metal door of the experiment room with a calm that's deliberate.
effectively trapping him in a grave of his own making.
   a familiar face...
Tumblr media
a voice reaches past his memories. ' No good morning for me today, Doctor? '
another pang of recognition: they had this conversation before. one in front of the other, the biologist bubbling with barely contained anger and the being, indifferent and sarcastic. it feels like this stand-off happened ages ago.
the name comes to dry lips almost automatical, familiar. ' Alberich? '
Alberich stops his rifling through exotic bottles, turning to look at him. there's a faint, sourly satisfied smile on his lips that doesn't reach his eye. ' It always takes you a while to remember. But I'm patient- I have all the time in the world. '
there's a whimper coming from the man, hunching down in his chair, preparing for the worst: a lash out, another one of his limbs being removed by force- but the young man simply stares at him, long lashes blinking before he resumes rustling in his private collections.
Wuchlock doesn't know what to make of it. every muscle of his body is taut, trembling with every fever of his being. ' What do you mean- that it takes me a while to remember? '
' I come here every month, ' he explains, a shrug of bare shoulders as he perouses to his liking. ' Sometimes, you remember as soon as you see me. Sometimes, it takes you half a day- but I don't mind waiting, as I said. '
this is the end of the line, is it? there's a sense of finality that Wuchlock can perceive, that makes his bones shake until his teeth are chattering from pure fear. he used to not feel fear, before meeting the being that was Kaeya Alberich.
' Why are you here? ' he asks, pitifully trembling like a leaf. he's no match for him. he was never any match, and he should have expected it.
what he doesn't expect is for the Emanator of Enigmata to stop his actions. it turns to stare at him, seemingly lost in thoughts.
' I am familiar with the concept of revenge. ' it starts, then stops, and starts again. ' It implies that the person who has done a terrible deed gets... comeuppance. is this the word I could use? retribution. But I'm not a Galaxy Ranger, so the deeper meaning of it escapes me. Perhaps, one day, I'll ask one of them about it, and I'll have a more precise answer. '
a non-answer. Wuchlock doesn't understand if he'll be executed, or if he gets to live another day. the insecurity and fear fuel his frustration. ' Alberich! ' he barks, and frosty diamond settle back on him at the display of the familiar tone. ' Enough of these verbal enigmas of yours! Can you never give a straight answer? Would it kill you to? '
there's a long pause, eye leveling the other as Kaeya seems to have come to a decision on what to pick: a large bottle of whiskey, coloring it gold, one of the least elaborated ones.
' Schadenfreude, ' he speaks in a perfect German accent, almost as if another person was speaking. ' The emotional experience of delight at one's misfortune. '
   and then, he starts laughing.
chuckling, more like. something rumbling in his throat, dark and foreboding with a slight curl of soft lips. he shakes his head, letting cobalt bangs hang from his forehead before he speaks again. something damning:
' Hannah has no intentions on forgiving you, ' it's explained to him, the curl fading from his face. no myrth or amusement left on it- just an hard stare.
' But it doesn't matter how much I try to force you to aknowledge this; even when mutilated and lucid you're still convinced that you're the misurestood hero of the situation. ' another, dry chuckle. ' Then, this is the end that awaits such an heroic soul. '
when Wuchlock tries to respond, his throat is dry and tight with anger. he's shaking, his disabilities forgotten.
for a moment, it's back to the middle-aged biologist standing in front of a being with an hospital gown on, towering over him.
Alberich seems so pleased with himself: his posture has relaxed considerably, pale diamond full of unspoken mockery. ' Cheers to the hero of the world, Edward Wuchlock, ' he lifts the stolen bottle, lips revealing a snarl of pearly white teeth.
and then, just as he has appeared, he's gone.
he finds himself alone in the room, wobbling in place as the mental fog envelopes him once again: with numb surprise, he realizes that his hand is fisted impossibly tight and that his joints hurt, hurt even more when he slowly releases his grip on nothing and everything creaks and cracks.
' Melany? ' he calls, helpless and suddendly scared, terrified. ' Melany! Melany, please... '
Tumblr media
' Oh! ' the girl turns to stare at the living room where the desperate, frail call is coming from, fingertips pressing against her lips to stifle a grin. ' You really put the fear of God into him! Last time he was just confused by the time you were leaving. '
no answer from the cobalt-haired fellow on the open door, almost on his way: just a mischievous smile, a tilt of his head, and a better tucking of the bottle under his arm.
she eyes it curiously, an identical tilt of her head mimicking his. ' Not that it's my business, but- why do you always steal one of his bottles? '
a small chuckle does come out of him. ' It's fine to ask. Let's say that I have... a friend that really enjoys it. And it's not like the doctor will drink or miss any of this. It's less bottles for you to clean, ' he teases, the ghost of a smile on his lips.
' Oh, shush, you! ' a swat over his bare arm makes him laugh harder. ' Being his personal maid is a favor I'm doing to you- plus! I'm curious if you'll end up killing him, one day. The least you can do is damn right make things easier for me! '
' Okay, okay, ' hands are lifted in playful surrender, ' I will do just that. See you, and thank you very much for your help. '
after a scoff from Melany, the door slowly closes behind him, his shadow being thrown clear across the living room.
and, for just a moment, Kaeya Alberich towered tall as a king.

ITEM OBTAINED: The Bushmills '84: 'Even Dead Men Can Sing!' Dark Oath Single Malt Whiskey A collector's item originating from a far away planet, worth thousands of credits if left unopened. It is said that the punch it packs could reanimate a corpse and make it sing an old ballad as an ode to the taste- this is precisely what is named after. There are currently only 6 bottles scattered across the galaxy- one of which purchased by the famous doctor and biologist Edward Wuchlock, for the modest price of ████,███ credits.

Interior Design Ideas: Nantucket Shingle Style Home
If you’ve read my blog for a few years, you probably will know that I love classic homes and this Nantucket shingle home built by Orren Pickell Building Group is a home that is sure to not go out of style anytime soon.
Here, the builder share the insights of this beautifully designed home: “Honoring their East Coast roots and incorporating a cozy farmhouse feel guided the design of this gracious shingle home.
After scouring the area for land that would offer the right combination of privacy and views, the family selected this wooded, ten-acre parcel. The Pickell team positioned the home at the high point, making sure to maximize the expansive vistas on all sides.
Architectural details such as a cupola and shingled exterior provide the Nantucket aesthetic the family wanted, while the interior has the warm, lived-in feel they desired. The chicken coop, supplying fresh eggs every morning, fits right in.
Broad pine planks, rough-hewn beams in the dining room and reclaimed timbers in the family room add to the farmhouse character and complement the family’s rustic American antiques. However, custom cabinetry and an open first-floor plan make the home eminently livable today.
An eat-in kitchen, formal dining room and living room flow easily from one to another, creating an ideal space for entertaining. In addition, the first floor features an expansive master suite with indoor and outdoor showers, office space, and a large mudroom centered around a vintage workbench.
The lower level is home to an antique bar the owners found in a shop in Indiana, as well as a gym and a soccer practice area (complete with reinforced drywall to prevent damage). Three more bedrooms complete the layout upstairs.
Throughout the interior, warm colors, extensive wood, natural light and comfortable furnishings make the 5,000 home feel friendly and intimate, just as the family dreamed of.”
Pin your favorite interior design photos and have a great time, my friends!

Wanna See Some Finished Bedrooms & Bathrooms at The Duplex?
We’re working overtime (so many trips to the beach these days!) to get all of the rooms in the duplex finished and photographed so we can get our rental listing up on Airbnb for weeklong summer bookings. Don’t worry, we’ll make a big announcement when that happens – you won’t miss it! So even though we still have a bunch of rooms that aren’t quite done yet (like 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms, 2 laundry rooms, and 2 more bedrooms and bathrooms), it feels extremely momentous to be 100% finished with the four rooms in this post. *Please imagine every single celebratory emoji here*
So without further ado, I’ll show you around the two bedrooms and two bathrooms at the duplex that are done, done, done! *Imagine that gif of Shaq doing the happy shoulder dance here*
Tumblr media
bed | sconces| rug | fan | duvet | pillows | lumbar | similar side table |wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White
This is the completed master bedroom on the right side of the duplex. Each side of the house has some slightly different challenges and measurements, and this bed wall was slightly less wide than the one on the other side, which meant that hanging accordion sconces made the most of the space, and they can be flipped on or off from bed. Meticulously planning our outlets so they were placed right by each nightstand (and not behind the bed for example) means there’s a free outlet on each side for people to easily charge their phones right by the bed.
We aimed for as much function as we could, and as for the actual character of the room, we loved exposing that original brick chimney that was hiding behind the wall. And adding a window behind the bed made the room feel so much brighter and more welcoming. We had to appeal to the historic review board and get their permission to add it, so it wasn’t without effort, but it was well worth it! This is a picture we took during the framing stage of that window going in. We really have come a long way, huh?
Tumblr media
And we actually love a bed in front of a window (remember we have one in the front bedroom at the beach house!). Our tip is just to choose a bed that allows light to pass through it, like this metal one, so it feels like it layers into the room instead of sitting heavily in front of the window and blocking things off, if that makes sense.
Tumblr media
bed | sconces| similar nightstand | rug |duvet | pillows | lumbar | curtains | curtain rod | wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White
You probably also remember that we added a small addition in the form of a full bathroom off of this room to make it a true master bedroom (another thing we needed permission from the historic review board to do – more on that process here – and you can see how that addition totally changed the back view of the beach house here). We think it’s one of the best things we did to add value and function to this house!
Tumblr media
bed | sconce| rug | sound machine | vanity | faucet | pulls | tile | mirror | bath light | door: SW Oyster Bay
We’ll have to snap a few more photos when we can to capture it all (it’s a small room, so a video tour might be the best way to show you everything), but the bathroom feels airy and bright thanks to the tonal tile and the greeny-gray doors (Oyster Bay by Sherwin Williams – this entire side of the duplex has doors that color). They pair so nicely with the crisp bright walls (Spare White by Sherwin Williams, which is the wall color we used throughout the entire duplex).
Tumblr media
floor tile | wall tile | shower floor | grout: frost | door: SW Oyster Bay
Bathrooms are some of the hardest rooms for us to tackle because we tiled all the floors ourselves, which takes significantly more time/sweat than just assembling some furniture like you do in a bedroom or a living room. But let me tell you, the final accessorizing is so easy and fun. It’s like they slowly come together for months with heavy plumbing and tile stuff and then bam, finished in a day when you’re at the “decorating” stage since they’re so small. YESSSS! We’ll celebrate that little victory!
We added a mirror, a few towel hooks, a long white shower curtain, our favorite toilet paper holder that we use everywhere, some leather pulls on the vanity, and a few frames for the wall and called it good. Oh and speaking of the mirror, we knew we’d have to find a somewhat unusual solution since there’s a window right over the sink, but we love how this cool hinged chrome one looks! It’s functional, and it still lets tons of light flood in from behind it. Oh and we frosted the glass so you don’t have to worry that someone is peeking in on you or deal with some weird blind-behind-the-mirror scenario.
Tumblr media
bed | similar nighstand | sconce| rug | sound machine | vanity | faucet | pulls | tile | mirror | bath light | door: SW Oyster Bay
I guess I should have said that all the doors on this side are Oyster Bay except for these, which were quirky old original doors that we saved! Many of the other doors, trim, windows, and light fixtures in this house had been replaced over the years, so we LOVE that we could save these doors and use them to create two built-in closets that flank the large window. The original charm that they add = priceless!
Tumblr media
bed | duvet | pillows | lumbar | baskets | faux fig | bench | dresser| mirror
We added the cubbies on top to balance things out since the original doors are shorter than standard ones. And inside each closet there’s tons of nice storage space to hang clothes, put suitcases, etc – with bonus storage space up top in the cubbies. Sidenote: I love a wood hanger and a luggage rack, so we tucked them into each master closet for people to enjoy (there are more hangers in the other closet in here too).
Tumblr media
dresser| mirror | baskets | rug | luggage rack
We also added a dresser across from the bed with a nice big mirror (this one that I LOVE!) for even more space to store clothes. The rug is also really cute in here – I love the beachy feeling and the soft color. It’s interesting but not too demanding, which helps the room feel serene (and the price was right!).
When I walk into that room it just feels so surreal to see it all finished! It has been a long road, and we hardly can picture what it used to look like back when we bought it. There was painted plastic paneling to hide the mold in the walls and a drop ceiling to cover rot from a roof leak that had been an issue for years. There was also threadbare wall-to-wall carpeting and baseboard heating that didn’t work (we redid the entire house’s heating and cooling systems, along with new electrical and plumbing to get everything up to code & safe). This is a before shot of the room from one of our first walk throughs (you can see the entire before tour of this house here).
Tumblr media
The window you see above is essentially where we placed the door that leads to the new bathroom addition, and then we added a new window further over towards the chimney on that wall, which you see behind the bed below.
Tumblr media
bed | scones| rug |duvet | pillows | lumbar | curtains | curtain rod | wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White?
Since before & afters are so much fun, let’s switch gears to the front bedroom on the other side of the duplex. This is what that room looked like before. The theme of this house was definitely add-coverings-to-hide-damage-in-the-walls-and-ceilings, so once again there were drop ceilings and plastic faux-paneling on the walls. And that little front closet (with the blue door) was devoid of any natural light. We quickly discovered that they had covered a window with drywall (!!!!!) so we dug it out of the wall and exposed it again – and it was one of the ones with diamond grills!
Tumblr media
Ripping out that crazy window-blocking drywall and exposing the beautiful diamond-grilled window allows light to flood into the room from that closet as well – and lighter walls also help things feel airy and fresh. Again, this front bedroom is on the opposite side of the duplex as the master bedroom we just showed you, which is why it has pink doors like all the other doors on the left side (White Truffle by Sherwin Williams). And the old floors look so much better since refinishing them (more on that here).
Tumblr media
rug | faux fig | basket | artwork set | curtains | curtain rod | door: SW White Truffle | wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White
I always feel like before & afters skip a HUGE part if you’re doing a deep renovation because a ton happens between them. You go backwards, sometimes A LOT, before you can go forwards again. This house had so much rot that we had to strip things waaaaay back to get rid of it all and rebuild it. So just for kicks, the window you see above is almost exactly where I’m standing in this picture below. Did I mentioned we had to strip things waaaaaay back?
Tumblr media
So that might explain why we’re feeling so good to be in the home stretch! If you walk through the bedroom door and turn to your right, you see this cozy bed that we found at Ikea and two soft greeny-gray nightstands with pretty gold hardware that ties into the wall mounted accordion lights. The hilarious thing is that we only have two sets of these lights in the entire duplex (one set per side, so someone renting one unit won’t even see the other set) but the two bedrooms that happen to be done both have them in there… which is why they’re all over this post. I promise all four of the other bedrooms have different lamps! Ha!
Tumblr media
bed | duvet | pillow | nightstands | sconces | curtains | curtain rod | wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White
How cute are these nightstands though?! And the price is SO GOOD. I love that they’re super functional with three drawers each (yay storage!) and that they bring in some color. It’s actually a subtle nod to the other side of the duplex since they’re almost exactly the same color as the greeny-gray doors on the other side! #MintToBe
Tumblr media
bed | duvet | pillow | nightstand | sound machine |sconce | wall: SW Spare White | trim: SW Extra White
There’s also a nice little closet in this bedroom, complete with a dresser for folded clothing. Remember the room with the diamond-grilled window? That’s all redone and it’s such a sweet space. But we haven’t fully finished and snapped photos in there yet. Soon I hope.
Now let’s skip over to the hall bathroom on the right side of the duplex (back to the side with those greeny-gray doors). The tile in here is one of my favorites (even though it was kind of a pain to lay), and we finished the room off with some natural touches, like some leather vanity pulls and a floating wood shelf. We rounded things out with a few other classic items, like an extra long white shower curtain, a round gold mirror, a simple white vanity, and some beachy art.
Tumblr media
floor tile | wall tile | vanity | pulls | faucet | mirror | shower fixtures | curtain | rod | shelf | art | toilet
Each side of the duplex originally just had one full bathroom, but the upstairs of each side now has two full baths – along with an additional powder room downstairs, which is so nice. This before shot of the one and only bathroom on the left side is yet another demonstration of the cover-rotting-things approach (don’t try this at home, folks). See how the vinyl floor is bubbled and loose? It’s because there were all sorts of water issues going on under there and they were trying to mask them with sheet vinyl.
Tumblr media
And now for the fourth room we’re completely finished with… which is pretty dang similar to the third, ha! It’s the hall bathroom on the left side of the duplex, which has different tile floors but the same vanity and accents.
Tumblr media
floor tile | wall tile | vanity | pulls | faucet | mirror | light | curtain | rod | shelf | art
It’s kind of fun to just change one major thing and stare at both of these and try to pick a favorite. Is the bolder blue floor more your speed, or the scrolly pink & green hex? John’s favorite is the blue one and I love the pink one. Maybe when the whole duplex is done we should do a room by room duel and have you guys vote your faves in various polls (I know John’s data-lovin’ mind would enjoy all of those stats).
Tumblr media
floor tile | wall tile | vanity | pulls | faucet | mirror | shower fixtures | curtain | rod | shelf | art | toilet
Oh and while we’re on the subject of sides, so many people ask me if I have a favorite side – even close friends lean in and say “whisper it in my ear, I won’t tell anyone” – and I honestly can’t choose! There are so many elements on each side that I love, so I just ping-pong back and forth. For example, I love the kitchen with the pink tile and the blue cabinets on the left side a smidge more than the wood one with the blue backsplash if you super twist my arm (it’s very very close though, you can see them both here), but my favorite twin bedroom by a sliver is the one with the oranges, which is on the right side. DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
P.S. You can see the entire process of bringing the duplex back to life here From buying it and planning the layout to screaming into a pillow over a sad setback, it’s thorough.

Beautiful Homes of Instagram: Horse Farm
Hello, my dear friends! How are you today? I am so happy to have Beth from @mytexasfarm (please, make sure to follow her and you can shop her home here) on our weekly series “Beautiful Homes of Instagram”, and you’ll understand why when you look at her pictures. Her home makes you happy and “hugged” just by looking at it and I must  warn you… this post might make you want to leave your city life and move to a farmhouse far away from all the noise.
Here, the homeowner talks more about her “home-sweet-home”:
“Hello! I am so grateful for being featured on Home Bunch! We live in a small little farmhouse and I’m just doing my best to make it feel like home! My name is Beth and I am a wife and mom of three crazy little kids! We live on a horse farm in Texas. All of my kids ride and help take care of our place. I love to decorate and make spaces feel cozy, clean, and still keep them functional for a family with three young children. When its warm outside we all basically live outside. My kids love running around barefoot and they are always up to something. When we first bought out house it needed a lot of updating. We have lived here for 8 years and we are finally almost finished fixing it up! We love having privacy and a place to call our own. I love decorating with white and it can happen when you have young children! I want each room to feel like a home but still keep it trendy and always in style. I like to change things around a lot in my home. It saves tons of money and makes it feel like a whole new space just to move things around! It also lets me be creative and have something to do instead of chasing my kids around all day! I have enjoyed sharing our little home and horse farm with everyone! I love that people want to see what I am doing in my own home! Thank you so much for sharing Home Bunch!”
I truly hope Elizabeth’s home brings a warm feeling to your heart… just like it did to mine. Life is beautiful.

We used nail polish for these. So easy! Take a cup of room temperature water, I dumped a little of the nail polish in a swirl pattern and dip the egg. Repeat this for each egg! Some tutorials I have seen said to use a fork and stir, but the polish just sticks to the fork. The water must be room temperature too. This is so easy and requires buying nothing!
