Here are the best and worst US cities to raise a family in 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The choice of where to raise a family is a big one for millions of Americans — and some cities are better picks than others. A recent study by WalletHub showed just which U.S. cities are the most family friendly in 2024. The company compared more than 180 U.S. cities, including the 150 most populated ones, to find the best cities to live in based on various criteria. SINGLE MOM TRAVELS TO 17 COUNTRIES WITH BABY DURING 3-YEAR PAID MATERNITY LEAVE The five key dimensions include family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability and socio-economics. Within each of those, other metrics evaluated included the number of playgrounds, skate parks and mini-golf locations per capita. The study also looked at ideal weather, water quality, access to pediatricians, violent crime rate, high school graduation rate, summer learning opportunities, cost of living and more. BEST CITIES TO RETIRE IN 2024In the socioeconomic category, WalletHub analyzed the separation and divorce rate in cities, the unemployment rate, the wealth gap and other metrics. Here are the top five U.S. cities to raise a family in 2024 according to this report.Counting down here …WalletHub named the city of Fremont, California, the most family-friendly city in the United States. That’s due in part to its highest median family income after adjusting for the cost of living, at close to $122,000. THIS SCENIC SOUTHERN CITY IS THE MOST POPULAR PLACE TO MOVE TO IN 2024It was also ranked high due to 50.5% of its families having children under age 18, making it one of the highest rates in the country. The city of Fremont also has a high percentage of public schools and summer camp opportunities. HERE ARE THE 10 HAPPIEST CITIES IN AMERICAWallet Hub also said of Fremont that its “residents are able to stay healthy. Only 1.4% of children lack health insurance, the second-lowest percentage in the country, and only 1.1% of the population lacks access to healthy food. The city also has the fifth-most parkland acres per capita, allowing for good outdoor exercise opportunities.”Ranking second on the list is Overland Park, Kansas, which was recognized for its low unemployment rate and high median family income. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERThe Kansas City suburb also has a low separation and divorce rate and is safe for children with a low traffic fatality rate, according to WalletHub. Irvine, California, came in third for its high-ranking schools and lowest violent crime rate per capita. Cities at the bottom of the list included Gulfport, Mississippi; Newark, New Jersey; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; and Memphis, Tennessee — which came in last place. Other notable finds in the WalletHub study: New York City was tied with Chicago and Charlotte for the greatest number of playgrounds per capita. The greatest number of attractions, in general, was a five-way tie between New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe said in a media statement, “Finding the best place to raise a family is difficult between balancing an affordable cost of living with good educational opportunities, safety and enough recreation to keep kids entertained.”For more Lifestyle articles, visit www.foxnews/lifestyleShe added, “On top of all of these factors, people also often want to raise their children close to their extended family.”She also said, “Current or prospective parents can benefit from narrowing down their choices to a few of the best cities that are within a reasonable drive of their family.”

#мояжизньмоиправила #siberianhealth #lifestylesh #история_анны (at Izhevsk, Udmurtiya)

Florida woman has traveled to 55 countries, says cruise ship vacations are the way to go
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going on a cruise for your next vacation might be the way to go, according to a passionate traveler. Leslie Diaz is a 25-year-old from Miami, Florida, who’s been going on cruise ships since she was just four years old. She told Fox News Digital that her parents immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1995 and their preferred way of travel was to go on cruise trips.MAN TRAVELS THE WORLD ON A CRUISE SHIP FOR FREE AFTER QUITTING HIS DAY JOB: ‘HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH’”They always dreamed of traveling the world when they were in Cuba, so cruising was an easy way to get to go to different places in a short amount of time,” she said. Today, Diaz’s love of cruise ships has allowed her to become a full-time food and travel content creator. “Since I started my food and travel page five years ago, it’s opened doors for me to cruise and travel even more and share with my audience my passion for cruising and why everyone should give it a shot at least once,” she added. CONSIDERING A CRUISE? HIGH SEAS MAY BE THE RIGHT OPTION FOR BOTH FAMILY AND WALLETDiaz said her favorite part of cruising is “how easy and relaxing it is,” as she lives in a popular cruise port city. She said, “Most cruises depart from Miami, so for me, it’s a quick drive to the port, a passport check-in while they take your luggage and that’s it … I’m on vacation.”The world traveler has been to 55 countries in her 25 years of life and told Fox News Digital that cruising is the easiest and most convenient way to see many places in a short amount of time. “I also love traditional travel, [but] there’s just a lot more logistics involved, and it can be a bit more stressful at times,” she said. “There are more flights, car rides, train rides, hotel check-ins, luggage, etc.”6 CRUISE SAFETY TIPS TO KEEP YOU PROTECTED AND AT EASE DURING YOUR VACATION AT SEAAlthough she loves cruise ships, she also noted that they can be a very subjective and personal choice for travelers. “Most people either love them or hate them [and] it really depends on what type of traveler you are,” she said. Diaz said she’ll often choose a cruise trip over a traditional travel trip because cruises can be “relaxing and low-key or very active and thrilling.”For more Lifestyle articles, visit www.foxnews/lifestyleShe continued, “There are cruises that are very family-friendly, like Royal Caribbean, that have amenities for all ages, while there is an adult-only cruise line called Virgin Voyages — where adults can get away from the kids for a while. It offers a completely different experience.”CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERAs for the financial difference between going on a cruise or taking part in traditional travel arrangements including lodging and other accommodations, Diaz said the price of cruising can be much more cost-effective. “The price of a cruise [depends] on many factors like the cruise line, cabin, season, itinerary, etc.,” she said.”It can be as low as $600 for a whole week or as high as $1,500.”She continued, “Therefore, I would say it’s pretty acceptable for most people if you do your research on the best cruises suitable for your budget and make your booking at least several months in advance for a better deal.”
