A/N: So this is for Soph’s ( @hollandroos ) 15k writing challenge. Yes, I know that I’m very late and I still feel bad about that, but at least I got something that I’m somewhat proud of for the first writing challenge that I’ve done. Congrats again, Soph! And sorry for any errors, I tried to find all of them :)

Another late night, another bed for two only filled with one. Tom sat in his office filled with doubts that you made the mistake of marrying him. It had only been a month into your marriage and everything seemed fine, but his insecurities began to consume him so instead of facing his fears and talking it out, he avoided you like the plague. He couldn’t help but think that you deserved a better and more normal life than the dangerous one that he led.

You on the other hand, lay awake stirring in the sheets because the normally warm bed was cold and lonely. Finally giving up on finding sleep, you stood up and padded across the wooded floors to Tom’s office. After several restless nights without your husband, you decided to go to him rather than wait for him to come to you.

Approaching the grand double doors of his office you couldn’t help, but quietly watch him through the crack between the doors before making your presence known. You always enjoyed the sight of Tom’s curls free from the constraints of gel, his professional and stern character washed away, his clean cut suits transforming to an unbuttoned dress shirt and no tie or to sweatpants and a t-shirt, and you especially loved the passion and focus he held within his expression. A rare sight to behold and only a few people got to see.

After a few minutes of staring, you finally pushed the door open, it creaking as you stepped in and Tom’s head snapped up from the papers he was currently reading. “Oh, hello darling.” His shoulders relaxed after realizing it was only you, but he furrowed his eyebrows confused as to why you were still up, “I thought you were already in bed asleep?”

Walking around his desk and taking a seat on top of it you sighed, “Well, I was trying to, but it’s hard to fall asleep knowing that your husband is cooped up in a different room doing work instead of sleeping like he should be. So instead of waiting for you like usual, only to wake up to your side untouched, I decided to come to you.” A soft smile graced your lips as you stared into his eyes not missing the dark bags that had formed from his lack of sleep.

Tom’s heart warmed at the thought and he felt a pang of guilt for making you stay up, but his insecurities were eating away at him and the only way he knew how to deal with it was by pushing you away. “I’m sorry for keeping you up love, but I have so much wo-”

“Thomas, we both know that you can do this work later. You’ve done it before and Harrison has even told me that you’ve been working nonstop to the point that you fall asleep on your desk some nights, so what’s really bothering you?” You were all too familiar with the poor excuse used to avoid going to bed with

you and you were beginning to become worried as to why he was avoiding you so much.

Taking a deep breath, he realized he couldn’t lie to you and that you’d eventually confront him. You knew him so well and that’s one of the reasons he fell in love with you. You always knew when something was off and you were always the one to pull him out of his own head and get him to talk. “I just…I just can’t help but think that you made a mistake marrying me…” he tore his gaze from you and instead found interest in the hanging thread on his shirt that you wore to bed. As you opened your mouth to protest, he cut you off, “It’s just that, you could be living a normal life with a normal guy away from all of this danger. You deserve better than a notorious mobster that doesn’t even know how to talk about his feelings.” His voice began to crack and his eyes glossed over. “You’re an amazing, quirky, beautiful, and strong woman, (Y/N). I don’t deserve you or your love. I’m so hot headed and impulsive and hard to deal with, I don’t get why you chose me when you deserve so much more.”

A few tears had made its way down your face as his words had sunk in. You couldn’t believe that the love of your life thought so little of himself when he’s everything you could’ve asked for. So you wiped the few tears that had fallen down your cheeks and moved to sit on his lap to wipe away his as well. Putting a finger underneath his chin, you stared into the chocolate color that you loved and forced him to look at you as you gently spoke. “Thomas Stanley Holland, do you remember our vows? The ones we spoke at our wedding? Because it seems you might have forgotten.” You moved to cup his cheek and rest your forehead against his while maintaining eye contact. “I told you - no I promised you that I’m in this no matter what. No matter how dangerous it gets, no matter how hot headed and annoying you can get.” You both lightly chuckled at that. “I promised to never leave you till death do us part. I chose you, Tommy. I don’t want any normal guy because I. Want. You. From every chestnut curl to every freckle across your nose. From every laugh to every tear. I wouldn’t trade this crazy, dangerous, and hectic life for a boring, normal one. It might be safer, but if it’s not with you then I don’t want it. I’m happy as long as I’m with you, Tommy.”

Both of you were in tears at the end of your speech and Tom’s face split into the brightest smile. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have you in his life and in one swift motion, he closed the tiny space in between you two with a gentle, but passionate kiss. When he pulled away, you both held so much love and adoration in your eyes.

“I love you so fucking much.” He whispered against your lips. “How did I get so lucky?”

You chuckled, “I was wondering the same thing. I love you more than anything, Thomas Stanley Holland.” pecking his lips one last time before you guys went to bed to finally get some much needed rest in each others arms.

Summary: Y/N is the Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi, blessed by the God Apollo with the gift of foresight. Yet one day a hunter sets foot in her temple and she is struck by a dark vision. With the blood moon approaching fast, higher powers take the upper hand and shake up Y/N’s life and love. Is she strong enough to survive the wrath of a Goddess? Or shall she wither and die in the aftermath of a God’s sorrow?

She rushes into his embrace as soon as he enters her line of sight. The God had taken his mortal form, Steve, and now freely appears to the eyes of the non-believer. He thanks Bucky for saving his sweet Y/N. He heals his arm to emphasis his gratitude and assures him he will forever owe the hunter any favour his heart desires. But Bucky’s heart desires nothing. Nothing but Y/N.

He leaves the temple after the lovers have been reunited, retreating himself as a recluse in his house by the cliffs. No man or woman ever visits him apart from the sailor Sam who spends a few nights every month by his fire. They talk about the sea and how much Sam enjoys the freedom that it brings. They talk about Bucky’s job as a merchant, selling Sam’s fish to the people of Delphi. And they also discuss the rare moments where Bucky’s eyes follow Y/N and her new-born when they cross each other at the market.

Sam tries to talk Bucky into believing again, but he’s reluctant. Believing would mean recognising the pain he buries deep inside, the pain of knowing Y/N’s heart belongs to Apollo and not him.

“Humans are fragile, my son. You knew this day would eventually come. But you have lived a full life, you have loved her as an equal. She was your light, your muse, as was promised. And now it is time to let her go.”

“I know, father,” Apollo sighs sadly, his ethereal glow dim against the dark clouds in the sky. Her life force is slowly ebbing away from the land of the living and towards the skies of the Gods and Goddesses who await Dawn’s arrival. She’s dying, so Apollo doesn’t have much time to say goodbye.

“Your child is still your child, Apollo. Y/N will be a clean slate, but your daughter will always remember the image of her father and mother. Take comfort in knowing your daughter believes her parents died together in their sleep. That’s reincarnation, my son. As Dawn, you will still be able to visit her. But she will not remember you, for her first life she has already lived alongside you.”

“And what about him?” Apollo points towards the faint shimmering of Bucky’s ethereal form. He died not long ago, as a casualty of war, and is waiting for Y/N to follow him.

“For her next life, she will live alongside Bucky.” Zeus looks down upon his son, Apollo, and smiles warmly at his golden appearance.

When Apollo came to him, bearing the news of his twin sister’s betrayal, Zeus felt sorry for the both of you. A mortal woman condemned to death by a Goddess, jealous of the connection she shared with her brother. And a God doomed to live a life far away from his beloved and his child, because he is above all, a deity, and a deity doesn’t belong amongst humans.

So Zeus struck a deal with his son, one life in exchange for the other. This way, Apollo can live one mortal life on Earth, together with his Pythia, his sweet Y/N. He will live the life of Steve Rogers, husband of Y/N Rogers and father of Estelle Rogers. He will be a bearer of many arts, gracing the people of Greece and the rest of the world with music, dance, laughter and so much more.

But this great gift comes with a price, for Zeus’ other son his destiny remains unfulfilled as long as Y/N is stripped from his arms. And with his death imminent, a hunter called upon in dire times as another war turns men into soldiers once more, Zeus promised him the love that was taken away from him. This is Zeus’ apology, this is how the heavens were created.

Everybody has one life to live, and in Y/N’s life she chose a God to write her destiny with. But in her next life, as Dawn, she is Bucky’s at last. And as Dusk and Dawn they rule together, in perfect unison, merging into one another as they make love and create a brand new day.

400 Followers Celebration!!!

First of all, thank you all for finally getting me to 400! I can remember being stuck somewhere around 250 just this past summer and again being stuck around 350 a few months ago. It's hard to imagine there's actually 400 of you guys. Thank you all so much!

So, to celebrate, I've decided to host my very first blurb night. I've only got a few rules for it:

Spider in the Bathroom- Peter Parker Drabble

My entry to @hollandroos Drabble challenge. This may be one of a few to come, who knows yet. I used prompts 21) “Get it away from me- that’s disgusting!” and 41) “I’m not scared of spiders but there’s a spider in the bathroom and it’s taunting me.” Enjoy!

You, Ned and Peter were having another one of your regular movie nights, the 3 day weekend being perfect for it. You somehow had convinced the boys to start a Disney marathon, and even though they denied liking them, they ended up singing some of the songs even louder than you were.

Peter had disappeared a while ago, not that you or Ned noticed. He typically did that, whether to grab some food, go to the bathroom, or even try (key word try) to set up a prank or surprise, only to fail. Who knew a teen superhuman reflexes could be so clumsy?

He’d been gone at least 30 minutes when you finally noticed. And only because you had to go to the bathroom. You got up quietly, snuck around the back of the couch and headed down the hallway. Peter wasn’t in the kitchen or his room, so you had no clue where he could be. Shrugging your shoulders, you continued.

When you opened the door, you got the shock of your life. Peter, sitting on the counter, in his Spider-Man suit, mask off. Doing absolutely nothing but swinging his feet, letting out a startled scream when he saw you. “(Y/N)! Get out of here! You’re gonna ruin the surprise!” He tried to shoo you out the room.

You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Surprise? I don’t see anything in here that could be one,” you observed. “Is it behind your back?” You attempted to peek behind him, but he just grabbed you by the shoulder to stop you.

He pointed an accusing finger in your face. “You leave now or I’ll fight you.”

“Ooo, so scary,” you mocked. “Peter, I know you. You’re not going to fight me.”

He scowled. “Keep it up and I mean it. Now go.” He opened the door with one hand and pushed you out with the other, then promptly shut the door.

With your back now to the door, you couldn’t help shaking your head and laughing to yourself. What a dork. You walked back to the living room, to see Ned confused about where his friends had gone, the end credits playing in the background.  

When he saw you, he let out a sigh of relief. “There you are! I almost thought you both got kidnapped when I wasn’t looking.”

“No, Ned,” once again shaking your head at one of your friends, laughing slightly. “I was in the bathroom- don’t get me wrong, I’m not scared of spiders- but there’s a spider in the bathroom and it’s taunting me.”

Ned’s eyebrows rose. “What do you want me to do about it?”

Using the best puppy-dog eyes you could muster, you said, “Can you get it out for me? Please? You’re one of my best friends, Ned. Pretty please?”

He sighed. “I guess I can try. But only if I get to pick out the next movie.” You nodded your consent, and the two of you set off down the hallway.

He picked up a broom from the closet on the way, better safe than sorry. When he yanked the door open, Peter once again shrieked on top of his lungs, causing Ned to also scream. “Get it away from me- that’s disgusting!” he yelled, throwing the broom at his best friend. Despite his spider sense, the broom wacked Peter in the side, causing him to clutch his side and bend over.

“What on Earth, dude?!” he asked, pained. He dropped to the floor, finally giving you a clear view of the counter. On it sat a container of homemade slime, obviously in the planning stages of a prank.

“Aha!” you exclaimed. “I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! You’ll never be successful pranking me, Peter Benjamin Parker!” You did a small victory dance, causing Ned to laugh.

“Really Peter?” he asked. Peter slowly stood up again.

“I should stop trying, shouldn’t I?” You smiled at him, unable to start laughing. “I went over it with Mr.Stark, too! Like, 5 minutes ago! It’s why I’m wearing my suit. It was supposed to work this time!”

“Did you consider he set you up to fail as a prank on you?” you suggested.

Peter frowned. “Oh.”

“Don’t worry, Pete. It’s our way of showing we tolerate you,” you replied. Ned agreed.

Peter rolled his eyes. “It really just shows what a bunch of nerds we are.”

“Well then, nerd, you should go change into regular clothes,” you said, poking him slightly. When he started to protest, you simply stated, “Your words, not mine.” He gave you a playful glare and headed off to his room to do so.

Once he left, Ned lead the way back to the living room. “Alright. I pick now, right? And I know what you’re think- we’re not watching Star Wars this time.” He chuckled at your sigh of relief. As much as you like them, they wanted to watch them too often to be considered sane. “Nope. We’re going to watch Clueless this time.” Your groan at what he was hinting at just caused him to laugh louder.

A concept: you having a Star Wars marathon with Ned and Peter to bring them up to date on the movies that came out after the Snap.

Yes! At first they're like "what" and you have to explain "star wars movies came out while you were snapped" and naturally, they freak out.

Ned and Peter, ultimate Star Wars Nerds missed some movies?? It's a big deal. So you calm them down, say you've got them on DVD, and arrange for a marathon going the whole 456,123 etc etc.

There's popcorn, chips, all sorts of candy, ice cream, and soda. Peter hosts it and May smiles to herself when she finally hears bickering and laughter coming from the living room again.

That night, she finds the menu screen repeating, the three of you curled up on the sofas and arm chair and can't help but take a few pictures and place a few blankets and pillows before turning off the TV. Everything is right again.

After Peter returned from the Snap, he and avenger!reader just wanted to spend some time together after being apart. The solution? A road trip. You don't have a destination in mind, just taking each day as it comes. The two of you sing along to the radio, you stop to take pictures of the scenery, and make impromptu stops at little food places you want to try. And while having a deep conversation under the stars, you take the chance that you thought the Snap had stolen forever: to kiss Peter.

You've been everywhere and nowhere. Chicago, Philly, Milwaukee, DC, Denver, (not necessarily in that order) and you're making your way out to LA, Seattle, and Phoenix. You're on official leave from the Avengers until you get back. All you have to do is check in with Happy every few days and you're good.

Exploring new cities, visiting museums, parks, random monuments along the highway, and getting most of your meals from wherever the locals say is best. It's better than you could've ever dreamed.

Peter is right there the whole time. He laughs at how cheesy you're being, but really, he's trying to wrap his head around the fact that you mourned his death for five years. He takes it all in and is thankful he stands beside you.

You're somewhere in the Rockies, out stargazing when you start to talk about what happened a bit. The fact that half the universe was gone.

Then it becomes a bit more light hearted. You start talking about how big the universe is, what it's like actually knowing there's life on other planets, meeting the Guardians and Thor.

Then, Peter makes a comment about how your eyes sparkle with the stars. Now, he's being cheesy.

You don't care. You lean over and kiss him. It's perfect. The atmosphere, the stars, his smile, him, the moment, the kiss.

You're beyond happy Peter is back. Nothing could top this. He feels the exact same way.

AU where your pet escapes from your house. Worried sick, you scour the city but after hours must give up hope and go back home. It's then you see him staring at your house, your usually prickly pet contentedly curled up in his arms. He had seen the address on your pet's tags and brought them home. "You must really be someone," you laughed. "They never warm up to anyone that fast." You ask him to join you for lunch to thank him, and your pet was right: Peter Parker is definitely someone special.

Animals adore Peter Parker. That's part of what makes Spider-Man so well loved- he can rescue even the most stubborn of pets. They seem to flock to him in the suit and occasionally out of it.

Naturally, when yours escapes, they somehow makes their way to him. "Well, aren't you cute?" Peter says to them. "Do you belong to someone?" Sure enough, there's a collar.

Peter makes sure to take them to the address listed. Nobody answers so he decides to wait a bit. If nobody's there in 10 minutes, he'll leave a note with his number and come back later.

9 minutes later, you walk up frazzled and greet him, taking back your pet. You thank him and invite him for lunch. It's hard to say no.

Peter quickly learns you adore your pet with all your heart. And on top of that, you're one of the sweetest people he's ever met. He can't help but want to get to know you better.

"If you don't mind," he says when he's finally preparing to leave, "Could I come over sometime next week and get to know them better? Maybe we can figure out why they like me so much?"

It's obvious he's just reaching for an excuse to get to know you better. "Of course! Actually, tomorrow will work great, too!"

"Great!"

"Great!" As he turns to leave, you call after him. "Or you could come over to hang out with me. That'd be even better. See you then!"

Peter blushes as he turns the corner. He's definitely coming back tomorrow.

AU where the reader and Peter have to go undercover as boyfriend and girlfriend to a fancy party in order to get information about a supervillain Peter's been chasing. The two of you get dressed up and are both STUNNED by how good the other looks. The only problem? Neither of you actually knows how to blend into with the rich and powerful. After a very nerve-wracking evening, the two of you collapse on a bed at his house and laugh over the ridiculous mistakes you both made.

Beforehand, when you finally face each other after dressing up, you both sort of freeze and take the other in and how good they look. You're just standing there for like a good minute before you stutter out a "Wow you look great" and Peter replies with a "You too."

Afterwards, Peter's jacket and tie are elsewhere along with your shoes. You're taking off your makeup. "I can't believe your answer to 'What did you think of that new 5 star restaurant' was 'They have good cheeseburgers.'"

"Well I'm sorry, but I could really go for a cheeseburger right now. And what do 5-star restaurants even cook?"

"Not cheeseburgers, Peter!"

"At least I'm not the one who said their earrings cost $1000 when I know you got them for $10."

You smack him with the nearest pillow and keep laughing and picking on each other for the rest of the night
