Write it down.

Inspired by a recent post by @libramood If you are starting a personal study (be it spiritual or not) take notes. These are for you and no one else ever needs to see it but you if thats how you roll. Honestly, just start a journal. Start 5 journals. Write down anything and everything that you might want to remember. I write down all kinds of shit (virgo moon, gemini mars). I have notebooks on notebooks. Extra paper. Sketchbooks. Just. Start writing. And then reread it. Heres an example of some of the kind of things i write down: •excerpts from books (or if im supremely motivated i have transcribed entire books into smaller notebooks) •dreams i have had •astral experiences •quotes from tv, books, my friends, myself •stream of consciousness writing about nothing •the same word over and over •grocery lists/to do lists/all the lists •the names of references (websites, books, authors) for later (like what if youre in a bookstore and you cant afford the book you want but you dont want to forget about it?! Aah) •friends charts and comparisons of my friends charts •extended chart interpretations •charts and tables on various systems i want to study (i.e. Basic astrology traits, chakra information) •small journal entries •daily affirmations •spells •almost all of my tarot card readings ive done in the past...2 or 3 years?? •poems And most importantly: any personal insights i have into any of my areas of study that i would like to revisit later. The personal stuff is almost more important to me, because if i read something somewhere later and i can go back and reference what i wrote and have that validation of my own growth as a person/practitioner/student, im happy. And honestly, my notebooks are allll out of order. I have journals i started in 2008 or so that have stuff from a month ago in them. I skip pages. I write left, right, up, down. If it fits in the space i squeeze it in. I try to date everything but that doesn't mean that its even close to sequential. If i decide later i dont like something or i dont want it anymore, hell maybe i just wanna redo it??? I paint over it. Or put paint marker over it. Or i write something new on some scrap paper and tape it inside over old shit. I cut pages out and staple new ones in. Some of my notes are pristine and some of my notebooks are falling apart at the seams. Even just a small notepad. The notes in your phone. YOUR BLOG. Write it down. Please. For you.
