Pada masanya, suatu perpindahan atau perubahan pasti akan terjadi. terkadang manusia itu sendiri sulit merefleksikan rasa gelisah yang dialami karena pikiran dan hati memiliki jalan masing-masing. umur yang bertambah pendek tetapi harus terjadi, wajah yang semakin tua juga harus terjadi, teman-teman akrab yang lebih dahulu meninggalkan kita adalah kehendak Tuhan, orang-orang yang mencapai kesuksesan setelah mereka berupaya dalam menggapai mimpi-mimpinya adalah cerminan atau refleksi bahwa mereka pernah merasakan perubahan. setiap harinya mereka merasakan arti dari "berpindah" itu sendiri. it's tradition!

it was new year’s eve   &   albeit this year has been a whirlwind for him, courfeyrac was having a great time spending the night with his dear friends.   there was enjolras, grantaire,   &   grantaire’s new girlfriend, rapunzel.   they both looked happy together.   plus, they looked rather nice sitting next to each other.   he could definitely see the change in grantaire  :  he was happier, drinking less,   &   loving life more.

it was new year’s eve which meant that when midnight struck everyone would be giving their significant other     (  or not, it depends  )     a kiss to welcome in the new year.   he tried doing research on why people kissed, but, as per usual, he got DISTRACTED by other matters that were more important.   in fact, if he could recall correctly, it was grantaire coming to see him about enjolras.   that matter took up half of courfeyrac’s day.

it was new year’s eve   &   he found himself sitting next to enjolras on his couch with his feet propped up in enjolras’ lap.   his eyes were glued to the television as the ball in times square was dropping.   a smile grew on his lips as he chanted down the mere seconds until the new year.               ❛      five!     .  .  .     four!     .  .  .     three!     .  .  .     two!     .  .  .     one!     .  .  .     HAPPY NEW YEAR!      ❜               he yelled almost at the top of his lungs.   his gaze drifted over to grantaire   &   rapunzel who were already kissing.   that small act made his stomach churn   &   he didn’t even have anything to drink BESIDES that one glass of sparkling grape juice.   quickly, he turned his head to focus in on enjolras who also seemed to have noticed the kiss going on.

it took him a few seconds before he fully registered what his friend had said.   “it’s tradition.”   eyebrows knitted together as he finally pieced together what enjolras meant.   tradition     .  .  .          new years     .  .  .          KISS!   courfeyrac sat up quickly, brown eyes the size of saucers, staring at his best friend.   he was granted permission to kiss him!   &   most importantly, he WASN’T drunk!

wait     .  .  .          this COULDN’T be happening.   was this happening?   of course!   no.   he was dead for sure.   he caught his lower lip between his teeth, debating.   a brief moment goes by.               ❛      ah screw it, i’m not passing up this chance,      ❜                he breaths as he moves to straddle his friend’s lap.   hands quickly go to cup either side of enjolras’ face   &   he doesn’t wait to bend down to kiss him.   the kiss doesn’t last long, only a matter of seconds, but to courfeyrac it feels like a CENTURY.   he had kissed all of his friends before, this wasn’t anything new.   it was the PERSON who he was kissing who was.   enjolras was the person who didn’t like it all that much.   yes, he was rather affectionate, but only on HIS terms.   the only other time that courfeyrac had kissed enjolras was when he was really drunk   &   since then it had been his dream to kiss him again but when he was sober.   god bless 2017.

when he pulls away, a big smile appears on his lips.               ❛      thank you for a great start to the new year.   now i can rub it into R’s face that i’ve kissed you TWICE now.   this time though, it’s much more memorable.      ❜               he beams as he places a quick peck on enjolras’ forehead.
