Things I love about Liam for Liam Appreciation Week: -He cares about people's intentions and the meaning behind their actions -He eventually realizes he can't decide the "right" reasons for being in Andromeda, which shows growth. It also shows he can admit when he’s wrong -After Alec dies, he stays in SAM Node with Ryder until they wake up -When Cora is sad about Alec's death, he puts his hands on her shoulders to comfort her -His excitement about vids and constant recs to Ryder are cute as hell -He tries to reassure Ryder about how they're doing as a Pathfinder every time they need the reassurance -He skips all the formalities with Jaal and it works, they get to know each other pretty well -He says "Some nights you just cry, right?" to Ryder when talking about missing his family -After assuming a lot of things about Jaal and the angara, he ends up saying to him: "But you’re right. I don’t really know what you’ve had to face. I’ve nowhere left to go, so how do I help?" Jaal replies that now he is asking the right questions -He actually tried dextro-protein food and got sick??? Liam, come on! -He called Drack a dick while bantering with him. And survived. Like tell me Drack doesn't have a soft spot for him -He may have been in a fight with Vetra at first but he ends up laughing with her, telling her stories, complimenting her on the tech she gave him and even asks her if they're good. He cares about her -He takes his job very personally -He apologizes before and after his loyalty mission -What he does in Prodromos with the soccer game, that's something HUSTL did in refugee camps that he said he didn't get before. Just means he learns from others and is willing to try new things, even if he doesn't understand them fully -Most of his banter on the Nomad or the Tempest is comedy gold. There's also that time he said to Drack "There was a day you decided, I need some bones on my shit. Who do you call?" - basically asking for all of us. Thank you, Liam! -He truly cares about helping people and giving them what they need

It’s time for Liam appreciation week!!

Hello everyone! I’ve stepped in to host Liam’s appreciation week as the original host is no longer around on tumblr. This is my first time hosting an appreciation week and I am super excited to get into it! :) 

Appreciation is the name and that is the aim! This week is dedicated to appreciating our crisis response specialist Liam who has a heart of gold

You can contributing by posting gifs, edits, graphics, art, writing, headcanons, meta, starting discussions etc, about Liam. Remember to put #liamkostaweek in the first 5 tags so they show up in the tag to be reblogged

Liam appreciation week runs from the 17th of july through to the 23rd, I’ll be checking the tag regularly in order to reblog all your posts. If your post doesn’t show up in the tag and/or I haven’t reblogged it please feel free to send me a message so I can fix that

A few rules to put in place to ensure that this week remains on point and fun:

Character bashing/hate is not okay. It’s an appreciation week for a reason

I’d like to thank @omegastation for organising the appreciation weeks in the first place, without her we might not be celebrating our appreciation for all these wonderful characters 

just a small note: if anyone wants to come up with prompt lists for artists, writers etc or just general ones for Liam appreciation week i’m 100% cool with that just let me know what you’ve come up with so I can update this post :)

The day we met - Andromeda met - we fell from the sky and bad things happened. But when we're old and people ask us how we got together, I want you to smile.

Omg. Just imagine Liam and Sara watching Star Wars together, and she brings the the re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-remastered versions and Liam is just like ‘pffft, no way.’ and pulls out the original VCR tapes that he somehow procured before he left the Milky Way and Sara just looks at him like ‘seriously?’ before they snuggle up on his ridiculous couch under a blanket that is way too big and watch ancient futuristic technology flash before their eyes (with SAM interrupting occasionally to point out that AI doesn’t work like that) and even though they’ve both seen the movies a thousand times, Liam still reacts to the Death Star exploding like it’s the first time and makes pew pew pew noises when the x-wings shoot and gives the fighting scenes his rapt attention.

And Sara just looks over at him during one of those scenes, at the unabated joy this grown man shows for laser swords and beeping droids and how little he cares who sees it, and she realizes anew just how much she loves this nerd, her nerd, when suddenly he turns to her and says ‘this is the best bit!’ and reaches for the remote to turn the sound all the way up as she smiles and lays her head against his shoulder, and they munch on popcorn and happily watch light saber duels and space battles well into the wee hours of the morning.

All In - The Dance after the Party: Gift Art

I imagine there have been plenty of social events that lead to private parties. This is another piece i did for an amazing friend who helped me through Ko-fi Coffee and quiet a few other MassEffect things. Her Carrie Ryder & Liam, she wanted a Dance Scene and Of course my brain went “let’s see how steamy can I go” Sorry @coyotecrow!! Liam’s Hot! I couldn’t not do this! FORGIVE ME! Sorry not sorry!

Thinking about Liam’s origin (making him sound like a superhero) and growing up in a hugely diverse city like London- how it mentally prepares him for joining the Initiative, how Liam would be one of the most welcoming crew members to the angara and the most open to pushing positive relations with them.

Also thinking about what part of London he could be from- I’m inclined to say he’d be either a central London to east London baby, but possibly even Camden? I love the image of wee bab Liam tearing through the markets and causing trouble, the whole city as his playground.

Liam Kosta Appreciation Week: Fanfic Prompts

The lovely @thanekrios is hosting Liam Appreciation Week.  I noticed we didn’t have any fanfic prompts so I decided to take some initiative (hah! Pun intended) and get some started. Anyone else is more than welcome to add more or anything else for our favorite crisis specialist.  Make sure to tag your posts as #liamkostaweek or #liamkostaappreciationweek! 

 Day 1: First Impressions

What was your Ryder’s first impression of Liam?  It could also be Liam’s first impression of Ryder.  

 Day 2: Movie Night

We all know Liam Kosta is a huge movie nerd.  Let’s see how you think movie night should have gone.  It could be one with the whole gang or a private movie night.  It can also be whatever movie you want it to be, whether you name the movie or just hint about it.  Scary or romantic?  Up to you.

 Day 3: Dealing with Crisis

Liam seems to have a talent for leaping before he looks.  This could be a potential situation for your Ryder and Liam to solve the crisis, deal with it, or just have a heart to heart about how Liam seems to be too impulsive at times (if that’s how you roll).  It’s completely up to you how this goes.  The reverse is true: Liam could help save Ryder from a bad situation.  Who doesn’t like the ‘saving the friend/love from a dangerous situation’ trope?

 Day 4: Sugar

We can all admit that Liam’s romance arc was lacking a bit in comparision to some of the others.  This is a chance to fix it.  How would your Ryder have gone about the romance with Liam?  Any part of the romance arc, whether it’s that first night after Voeld or the jump jet date, and even the in between moments.  This is a chance to throw some sugar and sweet and fluff into the mix, but we won’t complain if some spice gets in there too.  (It should go without saying that this is for male or female Ryders)

 Day 5: Caring

Liam has a big heart. He wants to help everyone he can and gets frustrated when he gets blocked by the higher ups, and sometimes even Ryder (if they disagreed).  This is a chance to expand that.  Maybe Liam has an idea to help the angara again, maybe he decides to help out Ryder, or any number of things you can imagine.

 Day 6: Hanging out with the Crew

Liam has solid friendships and relationships with several of the Tempest’s crew and some outside of the Tempest.  This is a great chance to explore those relationships.  

 Day 7: AU, what if

A chance to explore some ‘what if’ scenarios.  Go crazy with it.  AUs are completely awesome.
