hoshiumi, before jumping up to land a spike: [points at hirugami] "THIS ONE'S FOR YOU, BABE!" [misses completely and crashes into the net]

hoshiumi is super physically affectionate (a trait that i think stems from rough-housing with his siblings a lot) so he never thinks twice about grabbing hirugami's hand or leaning against him or tucking himself under hirugami's arm

hirugami absolutely cannot get used to it his mind explodes every single time

also, lots of knuckle kisses. hoshiumi really really wanted to after he caught hirugami doing what he did but they didn't get together until way later, so he makes up for lost time by pressing a kiss to hirugami's knuckles whenever they have to leave each other

speaking of which?? dude holy fuck my HEART like man i felt that in my hands that was brutal

hirugami is just constantly waxing poetic about hoshiumi in his head 24/7 but nobody would ever guess it because a) he's got a really good poker face and b) he's always doing the exact opposite and scolding hoshiumi for something or other

occasionally he'll blurt out something really smooth during a moment that makes him think "wow i'm really in love with him" and it catches hoshiumi so off guard that he just starts spluttering and short-circuits into silence for like a whole hour

hoshiumi: "sachirou is visiting his grandparents so while he's gone i'm going to cut off the sleeves on all my shirts" hakuba: "why???" hoshiumi: "he's pretty much 85% of my impulse control"

the entire team supports them but also. the entire team would really appreciate it if they weren't constantly being sappy and disgusting right in front of their faces

(liam thinks they're goals tho. he stares at them like "wow i want a relationship just like hoshiumi-senpai and hirugami-senpai" and bessho is in the background taking notes)

i think they're actually one of the most stable well-adjusted couples you'll probably get in haikyuu which is. something the second-gen captain squad is EXTREMELY incredulous about

their siblings love each other btw. obviously fukurou and shouko ADORE hoshiumi and want to play volleyball with him all the time (fukurou makes him promise to join whatever team he captains when hoshiumi goes pro LMAO) and akitomo thinks hirugami is a good influence on hoshiumi

before they started dating hoshiumi very unsubtly tried to feel hirugami out and asked him what his type was and hirugami told him "someone short with white hair" and hoshiumi went "you like the old grandpa who lives down the street from you??"

they get together after hoshiumi ended up at hirugami's with a box of kittens during a rainstorm all "I FOUND THEM ON THE STREET SACHIROU WHAT SHOULD WE DO" and hirugami looked at him, sopping wet and jacket bundled around the kitties, and went "can i kiss you right now?"

i'm telling you he's smooth without even realizing it

koutarou (hirugami's dog) really really loves hoshiumi and loves cuddling with him and when they're cuddling together hirugami is never really sure who to be more jealous of

btw hirugami knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with hoshiumi when they were talking about what kind of house they wanted to get in the future and hoshiumi was like "oh, we need lots of room for the animals you'll bring home! you gotta teach me how to take care of them, sachirou" and hirugami just went "FUCK" really loudly on the inside

Hyperspecific Headcanons with Kamomedai <3

✎genre; crack, fluff, whatever you want really

✎chef note; thanks to me making too many doodles and incorrect quotes about Bessho and Tokura, I now present you this mess, enjoy.

this is kinda funny, but their coach purposely put the water refills outside on top of a small hill under the big tree (kinda reminds me of the one in the training camp arc)

So, when they need to refill, they have to jog up the hill to get some water and they've complained about it ever since

It's not that high but with them being tired after the practice they did, it sure does felt like an eternity getting up there

Sometimes Hoshiumi and Gao races on who could get there faster while the rest are slumped while walking up

But don't worry, when they finally get there, the wind is enough to cool them back down

And now, it became their resting place after practice (no matter how many times they've complained about going up hill to even rest there)

One time they broke it

They broke the water refill, and had to fix it back up before their coach sees the mess and try to figure an excuse on why there's no water left inside and there's a crack on it

Bessho and Tokura are basically best friends but it's more one sided

Tokura lowkey highkey hates Bessho and no one knows why exactly

Maybe it's their 1st years problem or something but Tokura's just like that with Bessho and Bessho couldn't seem more concerned about the hate he's receiving

He's just fine with it wth (they're one sided frenemies in conclusion)

Kanbayashi's good at cooking and you cannot change my mind

Sometimes he makes some treats for his teammates, going to their classes during lunch hour and giving them each small boxes of the food

He cares about his teammates whether it's on or off court really

Everyone likes Suwa

Hoshiumi doesn't really look like a person who has a schedule but he actually does, but for fridays only

Why you may ask?

Because that's the day where he visits Hirugami and see his dog

Anyway, the schedule is like this;

7am-8am: wake up and do morning preps, 8.30am-3.45pm: school and volley practices

4pm-4.50pm: MEET THE DOG [in full caps and bolded] and lastly, 5pm: go back home and sleep

It's as simple as that for a simple man like him, who likes to pet Hirugami's dog

Tokura is actually smarter than anyone expected (maybe somewhere in class 5 or 6)

and him and Bessho sometimes study together even tho Bessho is kinda smart himself

It's what the team call, 'a bonding moment' between these two

Meanwhile, at the Liam's household, he's practically yelling at Bessho for wanting to eat instant ramen every second (they did eat instant ramen after that)

Suwa gets along well with Kita after their match together and both of the team has to get along with each other when their captains form a friendship

(Much to their dismay, but they'll have to be friendly anyway)

And not suprised coming from Tokura, he likes Riseki more than Bessho and ask if they could trade Riseki with Bessho

Which causes a big fight at the court (Tokura, you can't trade Bessho smh)

Nozawa may seem calm to most people at their school, but he's a bit of a hot headed person himself

Don't worry tho, cause kanbayashi's there to calm him down

If he can restrain him fast enough, because if he didn't, it's either a big ruckus inside the gym, someone ending up with a broken bone or someone straight up dead (pick your choice)

(this is canon) but Bessho and Gao are homies and it shows

Gao too sometimes annoy Tokura because it makes Bessho feel better and he might join the annoying process

(someone please save Tokura)

Speaking of Tokura (what, is Tokura my fav kamomedai character now? Maybe) other than Suwa, he have high respect for Hirugami and view him as a big brother figure

I think Tokura is an only child so that's why he looks up to Hirugami and you know what, Hirugami also see him as a little brother

It's a very comforting scene to see when they're being platonically affectionate with each other

Whether it's about talking about their practice to basic questions like "have you eaten yet?" "I hope you're doing fine" and so on

Hoshiumi, Gao and Bessho have a rock-paper-scissors thing they've been doing for weeks repetitively and it's getting everyone insane

Suwa is favorited by every old ladies on his radar (just like Kita) and he doesn't mind it at all cause he likes spending time or talking to them too

Actually, let's be honest here, Suwa's prolly the only person that's on the same level of Kita (I wanna see a competition about this)

Believe it or not, at my school at least Golf is a really big sport. 

idk man, somethin about Iizuna, Komori and Sakusa playing golf just....makes sense to me.

Stoops Issue 7 - Out Now!

Today I get to present to you, the double cover of Stoops Issue 7! I am really excited about this one. Mason Silva - Double Bar Ollie. Montebello, CA. 2020. (P) Anthony Acosta. When Acosta sent me both versions of this photo, I couldn’t tell which one I liked better. The fisheye is gnarly, but the long lens really shows scale. So I ended up using both! The long lens wraps around to the back cover, with the fisheye sitting pretty up front. We went back to our old printer and the quality is perfect.

“It’s not funny,” Kentarou says with a scowl. “It’s a goddamn nightmare.”

Yaku pauses to suck in a breath, looks at Kentarou’s glower, and collapses onto the grass in a wheezing fit all over again. 

“It’s a little bit funny,” Liam concedes. “A thorny path for you, no doubt, but still funny.”

“It’s probably karma for something,” says Kazuyoshi thoughtfully. “Like the thing with Atsumu-san.”

“I already got my karma for that,” Kentarou snaps. “I helped Kita clean ten classrooms.”

“Should have made it twenty, then,” Yaku replies. He stretches his arms over his head and lets out a gusty sigh, shoulders sagging. “Whew, I needed that. But seriously — who would’ve thought that you of all people would end up with Oikawa Tooru?”

It’s a beautifully bright Saturday on campus, sunny and cloudless. That hasn’t stopped a chilly wind from taking over, though; Liam is bundled in what Kentarou is pretty sure is Kazuyoshi’s windbreaker, scarf, and gloves, and Yaku is snuggling into an oversized hoodie he definitely stole from Kuroo. There's going to be grass all over it by the end of the day, Kentarou thinks. Not that Kuroo would care. Yaku could probably burn down his whole closet and Kuroo would still cheer him on.

Kentarou groans and flops back, throwing an arm over his eyes. “This sucks.”

“Honestly, I’d rather have Oikawa than Sakusa,” Yaku says. “What the fuck do I even get him? Lysol?”

“One of those luxury facial massage rollers,” Kazuyoshi suggests. “He always looks so stressed whenever I see him.”

fukurodani: tbh. i really really like konoha as the nonrich kid for fukurodani. like "mr. jack-of-all-trades" yeah of fucking course he seems like he can do every single little thing compared to everyone who just. HIRES people to do shit for them or buy whatever they need. konoha knows how to use duct tape in a hundred different ways while his classmates are just like. tossing easily fixable headphones and sunglasses out every time they break and buying new ones every single time. (also. yes this follows the snarky nonrich kid and weird rich kid. konoaka my beloved.)

itachiyama: look i know we only have three of them BUT. the sheer HILARITY and the HONOR of it being the CAPTAIN, iizuna tsukasa??? i think both sakusa and komori are rich and being cousins they get into the weirdest most trivial spats that iizuna has to sort out. like sakusa is yelling at komori bc "YOU SPILLED CAPRISUN ON MY BALENCIAGA" and komori is all "THEY WERE UGLY ANYWAYS JUST BUY A NEW PAIR" and iizuna is like. "wtf. guys. like honestly fuck the both of you we have PRACTICE right now come ON"

IT HAS TO BE SUNA. kid who came all the way across the prefecture to an elite school where he doesn't know anyone or anything? a school where presumably most of the rich students have known each for YEARS bc they went to the adjacent middle school together? yeah there's going to be SO much bullshit when suna gets to inarizaki and hjsgbdkhd it makes me hurt just THINKING about it. like okay yeah all of these types of schools are ruthless but suna is such an easy target because he really doesn't have anyone here y'know??
