I’ve started to re-read Remnant Chronicles again 😭 The thing is i was 17 when i first read the first book(now 24) and i couldn’t read the last one because the publisher in my country decided to not publish the last book 😒 So i did only read the first two books. And because of my unsufficient English before i’ve couldn’t end it in original language. But now i am ready to read again and i already re-read the Kiss of Deception. How. Much. I. Miss. My. Babies!

Lia&Rafe have a very special corner in my heart and i thought about them a lot. They always reminds me not to force people/ yourself for something, just let it go and water will find its way. I wished remnant chronicles has an active fandomship but i can handle about it i think 😕

Jeb sauntered in with his neatly pressed trousers and fine cruvas linen shirt. His mischievous eyes panned around the table. He took note of my hand held in Rafe's and smirked at him. "Am I late," he teasingly asked, surely knowing something the others weren't privy to. My cheeks burned. I could practically feel Tavish bristling where he stood behind my seat. The tactician was too astute. He's certainly unhappy that Jeb is aware of what he just can't yet put a finger on. I started to pull away, but Rafe squeezed my hand, and I glanced over to see his jaw clenched. What was he angry about now?

"You're dressed very well today," my husband commented as calm as before the storm. His blue eyes were dark, and I couldn't help thinking how handsome Rafe was even when he was furious. The officers looked to one another, shifting awkwardly. Colonel Bodeen shifted his papers, and the rustling of them was loud.

"Of course I dress well," Jeb smugly answered as he dragged the chair Captain Hague vacated to stand on the podium beside me. "I didn't spend all that time in the closet for nothing."

The officers laughed as Jeb finally plopped down, even Captain Hague, whose eyes shifted asessingly from Jeb to Rafe to me, then finally settled on Sven quizzicaly after I glared at him. Before, the Captain would have blowed up with fury at Jeb's blatant disregard and rude interruption, but the man was secretly a gossip, which I learned from his equally annoying wife, Madame Hague.

jeb: of course i dress well.

jeb: i didn't spend all that time in the closet for nothing.

A forma como a obra foi organizada me prendeu do início ao fim, pois ela não narra apenas a história da protagonista, mas também a de seus ancestrais, entre certos capítulos, há textos ancestrais que narram uma espécie de profecia sobre uma heroína que chegaria para unir os reinos e libertar o povo. Os Últimos Testemunhos de Gaudrel, Livro dos Textos Sagrados de Morrighan, Canção de Venda, cada um nos ajuda a compreender um pouco mais de como a situação dos reinos chegou a tal ponto, como o motivo para o Assassino estar atrás da princesa, além de nos dar uma prévia do futuro de Lia, nossa heroína. Além disso, acredito que Pearson construiu a obra tão bem que, admito, fui enganada por ela e errei quem era o Príncipe e quem era o Assassino. Mas enfim, The Kiss of Deception inicia magnificamente a jornada de Lia e seus amigos nas Crônicas de Amor e Ódio, nos deixando ansiosos para abrir o próximo livro e descobrir o que vem em seguida.

So, I'm currently in The Heart of Batrayal and I'm enjoying it. NOW HERE'S THE THING, I have this feeling that Lia and Rafe are gonna end up together, which yk, I could be wrong, but if I'm not that's also fine. BUT I REALLY LIKE KADEN YOU GUYS T_T up to where I am in the book, Kaden hasn't done a thing to make me dislike him, like, yes he kidnapped her, but you know CONTEXT ✨. I have a lot of sympathy towards him and he's always trying to help her even if that goes against his country and everything he vowed to protect. Also, Kaden and Lia have a really nice dynamic, at least for now lol

So, yeah, maybe they won't end up together, but I hope he gets a nice ending

SOOOOO, do condoms exist in this world?

In book 3, during sexy time, Lia just asks Rafe if he has 'something' with him because she doesn't want to end up preggers like Pauline, but it's never mentioned again at any point in the series nor is it explained further.

So, I was there reading a fantasy book in a medieval-like time and thinking wtf could they possibly have?

Part-curious, part-confused, part-vibe killed.
