  he recognizes her by her hair. it was what initially caught his eye — her sleek, black hair swirling around her as she glided across the ice, alone, that dark winter night. he remembers calling out to her. mind if i join you? and everything stopped. the wind. the whispers. her hair fell gracefully over her shoulders as their eyes met.

  this time, rowon doesn’t ask. he fills the space to her immediate left, his gaze drawn towards the artwork now in front of them, flowers by santhosh. “anguish,” he says after a thoughtful pause. “that’s what i’m seeing. it’s hugging itself. we only do that when we need comfort.” he motions at the right side. “usually flowers represent beauty and youth, no? but it’s looking backwards, almost like it’s looking into the past. it’s reminiscing about losing its beauty to … presumably old age.” he’s probably wrong, but he didn’t come here to be right. in truth, he’s much more interested in heejin’s interpretation and what it says about how she thinks.

  “they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i’m inclined to disagree. some beauty is objective.” at long last, rowon turns to face her. “you look stunning.”

Chuseok at the Kang estate is always an event unto itself. While most families celebrate this holiday with warmth, intimacy, and the comfort of homemade traditional meals and sweets, Yoojoon, yet again, finds himself in the midst of a gathering that feels far more like a glitzy red carpet affair than a celebration of ancestral heritage.

The atmosphere is charged with the glittering presence of celebrities and high-profile guests, their laughter and chatter filling the air. Around him, the faces are as superficial as the polite smile he's been wearing since the evening began, a smile so practiced it feels almost carved into his features, uncertain if he'll ever be able to remove it.

But this year, he's grateful not to be completely alone among the actors and VIPs who barely capture his interest. "Are you enjoying yourself?" he asks, his voice low as he leans closer to his companion, a glass of untouched champagne resting in his hand like a mere prop.

"It must be a whole new experience to see so many famous faces up close." He turns his gaze to @lgcheejin, his smile softening into something more sincere, the mask slipping away. "Thank you for coming, by the way," he adds, "That Dior dress looks like it was made just for you."

Taeha clutches her selfie stick with pride as the trainees file out into the hall. Another day, another workshop - but these past few lessons have been more interesting than most. Becoming a vlogger had always been on her bucket list ( along with starting a travel blog focused on rare beauty finds and interviewing celebrities on a red carpet... but those would most likely have to wait until after debut ), so the idea of learning the ins and outs had her practically buzzing with excitement.

"Oh, oh, oh! Heejin!" she beams, swerving through the bustling hallway to catch up to the other with a grin. "How would you like to be my first collaboration!" She wiggles her eyebrows, lowering he stick to capture both of them on her 'self-cam.' "Where are you off to for free training? Mind if I tag along?"

class was over but sarang took some time to linger, waiting for heejin to finish up before she headed over to the girl. most of the students had left the class or already broke off into their own small groups. now she found herself paired with heejin. there was a bit of relief, they were trainee's together and while they didn't talk often, they did know of each other. that helped ease sarang's nerves.

"hey, did you have time after class today...i know we could go to the cafe on campus and figure out what scene we want to do." they had a bit of freedom in that regard, pick a scene from the movie and re-enact it. nothing special about it but that worked well for sarang, with everything going on the company.

cherry was out for a walk, enjoying the summer weather. though having finally joined the acting path, she was still far from a successful and famous actress, so she could still go out without anyone noticing her. she was looking forward to being recognized, but she also wanted to value the time where she wouldn’t get stopped every where she went, of course, she wasn’t actually sure she would ever become a successful actress. she was happy to have joined the acting path though, and hoped for a successful career in the field.

the blonde finds herself thirsty, spotting a café, she decides to use some of the money she should use on furniture on something to drink. knowing cherry, it’ll take a while for her to make her an apartment a home actually anyway. she pushes the door open, it doesn’t seem too busy, and there’s a lot of empty places to sit. she goes up and orders, turns around as she gets her drink and wonders where she should sit. she walks over to an empty table, but on her way she spots something, a familiar face. “heejin?” she asks, tilting her head a bit.

as the group's debut approached, yichen became increasingly self-conscious. working out had never been his thing, but noticing his lack of stamina compared to the other boys made it clear that something needed to change. he knew the company would expect him to keep up when dance routines become more demanding in the future. so yichen reluctantly started joining the other trainees at the gym, hoping to improve his fitness and maybe even build some muscle.

the key to bulking up was to cut carbs and load up on protein. yichen committed to a diet of chicken breasts and lettuce. for the first week, he pushed himself while keeping a fit-looking body as his goal. as the days went on, it got tougher, especially when hunger struck after eight in the evening. finally, he caved with the excuse that he had worked hard for a week and deserved a cheat day. pulling out his phone, he quickly tapped out a message. "hey heejin, i heard you're out right now. could i ask you to grab something from the convenience store?"

He isn’t surprised—he’s heard it so many times before. With how loud and playful he is, the layers beneath are often missed, brushed aside in all the laughter and teasing.

Maybe he’s built this image for those watching; introspection has never been his strong suit, even if his heart is softer than he lets on. But with Heejin, it feels different somehow, easier. So he just waves a hand, a small gesture of no worries, really, letting her know there’s no offense taken.

“I guess now you can see I’m totally the main character in a shoujo anime, huh?” he jokes, keeping the tone light—a way of saying, no need to thank me, I’m here if you need me. He stands, extending his hand to her. “Come on." A grin, playful and boyish, lights up his face. "And hey, if it’s chilly by the river, I’ll even drape my jacket over your shoulders, like the gentleman I am."

Heejin finds her perspective visibly shifting. Where once she'd perceived Minkyu as a mischievous troublemaker, ready to trigger reactions out of people by his boisterous nature, she now saw a kind young man, respectful and with great manners and a good heart. She picks a tissue with careful fingers, muttering quiet words of gratitude under her breath.

After cleaning the tears of her face and blowing her nose in an admittedly not very lady like manner, she balls the used, damp tissue up in her palm, intend on throwing it away once she had strength back in her legs to get up. She picks at one of the unused corners, knowing she should probably say something but she's still so taken aback that she doesn't trust herself to not mutter complete nonsense or reveal how impacted she was left by his gestures.

"I feel like I owe you an apology. I completely misjudged you," she begins in lieu of a reply to his original question. Her eyes look apologetic and sincere, still holding a light shine to them with the edges rimmed red. "You're a very kind guy, Minkyu. Thank you."

Heyo! As mentioned by the manager post, Batter Up ! is back for it's third and final season! This trimester Taeha isn't limited on the number of threads she can have so let's go for all four episodes! You already know the drill, she's in need of four lucky guests in total! ˗ˏˋ Synopsis:

Welcome to Taeha's disaster bakery! In this YouTube variety show, Taeha invites her guests to a friendly bake-off where the recipes are made up and the taste doesn't matter ( although it probably should - ). In each episode, Taeha and her guest will go head-to-head on a short baking challenge. Winner of the challenge will receive a gift card for free pastries at the Legacy Cafe, while the loser will get caked ( i.e., a cake smash to the face ).

*ooc note: due to my chronic slowness ( ty to everyone who's been a guest so far your patience is unmatched ;; ), i've decided to do this last season a bit differently! threads will be kept relatively short, and each thread will start at a different time during filming ( meaning one lucky guest will finally get a chance to give taeha a good ol' cake smash!

˗ˏˋ Episode 1: Spooky, Scary, Spatulas ! ( guest: @iseullgc )

With Halloween right around the corner, this episode is all about treats! They'll be creating spooky-themed cakes, that must incorporate at least 2 candy treats, like gummy worms and candy corn, while making sure they avoid a few tricks along the way! ( where you come in!: taeha and our guest have begun the challenge only to find that staff have left a few tricks for them - playful things like a ghost painted on the back of a mixing spoon, jello eyeballs in the fridge, or creepy music playing each time a certain cabinet is opened )

˗ˏˋ Episode 2: ...Honey, I shrunk the cake ! ( guest: @lgcgyuri )

In this episode, Taeha and her guest must create three-tiered miniature cakes using kid's cooking toys. The person who makes the tiniest, bite-sized cake wins! ( where you come in!: taeha and our guest are midway through the challenge when she realizes that she may have turned her mini oven up a bit too high... and forgot to remove the plastic spatula )

˗ˏˋ Episode 3: Oven's Turned Upside Down ! ( guest: @lgcryan )

In this episode Taeha and her guest must create an upside down cake, and no pineapples are required! Their cakes must have an element that looks inverted, like an upside down animal, an overturned teacup, or even a whole cake defying gravity. The person with the most unique cake, takes the win! ( where you come in!: taeha and our guest have finished their cake designs and are waiting for the staff to judge - oh, no. is your cake falling?! )

Inspired by Taeha's favorite time of the year, in this episode Taeha and her guest will be getting into the holiday spirit by decorating cakes made to look like Christmas trees! Let the most festive cake win! ( where you come in!: our guest has won with the most intricately designed cake - earning themselves a gift card and the opportunity to give taeha a nice icing beard better than Santa Claus' himself )
