Everything is overwhelming at the moment. He thoughts are running in a million different directions. The noise and bustle of the paddock is pulling Her every which way.

It's not a terrible scrape, not one to be worried about, but it is getting on all her clothes. He'll have to ask about the pushing later.

Oscar comes back and sighs in annoyance. "He said another thirty minutes at least of debrief. I feel bad for worrying him now."

Oscar sees where the two are crouched and throws Logan a confused look. "Is everything alright?"

"Well, I think someone needs a band-aid for her elbow and somewhere to wait for daddy." Logan tries to communicate that there is more going on here. Oscar looks between the two, and then his face lights up in some kind realization.

"Lando already left for the day, so my room should be safe. And I know he has crayon band-aids in his room."

She considers the idea. Carefully studying both of their faces for some hint of malicious intent. "Daddy said no strangers."

Logan exaggerates a pondering face. "Are me and Osc strangers? I thought we were best friends!"

She shakes her head yes and moves closer to the American. A reassurance that she does consider him a friend. "More then friend!" The Aussie ducks out to grab the band-aid from his teammates' room, and Logan is left to sit with the girl currently looking confused and intrigued. She hesitantly grabs the stuffed koala sitting on the shelf. The one Logan had gotten for him as a joke before they started dating.

Logan is still trying to comprehend what she meant earlier. Is it just her small brain misinterpreting something Liam said? Or is this an honest confession that she doesn't currently understand the implications of? He doesn't want to get his hopes up and settles on the second option for now.

Oscar sneaks back in the door and starts unwrapping the bangade. It is, in fact, shaped like a red crayon. Her eyes light up even as he washes the cut and places the band-aid on it.

"There we go, all better now." Oscar smiles at her as she hugs his koala.

"Thank you."

She's completely entranced in the stuffed toy again. Logan taps her on the nose to get her attention. "Did you want to ask Osc your question?"

Liam likes to think he's relatively quick. He runs often enough and has good stamina.

This is the fastest he's ever moved in his entire life. He grabs all their stuff with a speed that shocks both Daniel and Yuki.

He makes for the McLaren garage and is greeted by Oscar out front. It's odd, knowing that their secret is out and yet the Aussie is looking at him affectionately.

They make light conversation while they venture into the building. It feels normal still, nothing to awkward aside from the fact Liam goes on rabbit trails every ten seconds. It's the reason Oscar knows how to handle Lando and his chaotic communication tactics.

Liam mentally slaps himself. Now is not the time to be drooling over his friend's stability and emotional intelligence. He should really just confess. They'd talked about it, they both want it, but that could result in rejection.

Oscar opens the door and slips inside. Liam takes a second to observe the scene in front of him. His girl, happily laying her head in Logan's lap rambling about the koala in her hands.

"Maybe she was shoved and fell which caused the panic attack." Oscar eyes them sadly.

"Well, you two feel up to helping us get out of here?"

Oscar doesn't understand how Liam makes this look normal. HAs this been going on under their noses this whole time? If only he could go back in time, rewind a bit and do some research. He and logan could help out if they wanted.

"Told you! More than friends!"

Bruce drove over to the R.H. Kane building and got out of the Batmobile, he used his grapple gun to zip up to the top.

Once at the top, he looked around turning on the detective mode in his cowl. He saw towards the edge of the building– Batgirl's communications and the tracker that he built into her suit. Bruce eyed around the rest of the rooftop and noticed her cowl. “Her cowl is off?”

“If you want to find out what happened to Robin, meet me on top of R.H. Kane.

Wear the Batgirl uniform.” he read.

“Why would she go up here?” Bruce questioned.

“Sir, I do deeply regret I informed you of this but maybe it is about Master Jason.”

“She knows that he died, by Joker. It doesn't make sense. Why would she willingly go into a trap?” Bruce questioned

“We need to find her, I'll look through surrounding footage and see if I can get anything.” Oracle line dropped out.

“Master Bruce?” Alfred calls out from the Bat Cave. “There’s something you should see er–”

“What is it, Alfred?”

Free RPG Day: Exploring 9th Level Games Level 1 Anthology 2024

This weekend was Free RPG Day! Although a big TTRPG aficionado, my city sadly doesn't do it very due to it being an American thing primarily, but this year we did have a shop participating!

My family and I picked some stuff up and I went through all of it as of today. The new Starfinder and Pathfinder stuff is as great as always, I especially love the Squox animal companion, a perfect pal for any character interested in a Dex Animal Companion that can Disarm (using Acrobatics) and make enemies Off-Guard. While the Story Engine deck is a tried and true handy tool for any GM (and I am quite in love with my mini one).

What I'm interested in talking about is some of the TTRPGs in 9th Level's Level 1 Anthology for 2024 though. I wasn't super familiar with this company outside of Kobolds Ate My Baby (but I did buy Business Wizards from them during Free RPG Day as well to support my LGS), so I wasn't aware of this anthology. Reading through all the tech inspired games this year was a treat though. So, here's some of my faves!

• Metavault Heist (By Null Set Tabletop): a TTRPG about a group of people getting together and raiding a metavault in VR. The main gimmick being that you can make up your own set up of user permissions your character has access to that give you abilities you define.

I primarily enjoy the fun narrative elements one can use in a VR setting, but also it's super easy to start running. These combined with the aforementioned power system create a really neat little game overall!

• New God (By Carlos Hernandez): a journaling TTRPG where you play as a new deity in an age of your choice. You start out small, such as the god of fishhooks, but the goal is to expand your domains and gain influence. You do this via the monolith, a stack of 10 d6 which you can add to or take away each day to gain worshippers and add more points to domains. Knock it down and your followers falter, however, and you may even die.

I'm a sucker for any TTRPG about faith involving strange and esoteric deities and this one puts you into the role of one! The monolith mechanic is something incredibly inspired that makes me wonder what style of game I could make with a similar idea. The game also makes me want to go to the game store and buy two dozen d6 immediately.

• Your Dungeon, Room By Room (By Calvin Johns): a solo TTRPG where you take the role of a wizard building their dungeon. It's actually just a really good dungeon building tool for other games too that let's you make a dungeon with history and a random, although controlled, layout.

As mentioned above, this is primarily a dungeon building tool with TTRPG elements. If you're a GM like me, designing interesting dungeons isn't exactly easy and the random tables in the back of books aren't always satisfying. This scratches my itch for Dungeon Keeper style games on a simpler level and gives me a good excuse to open up Dungeon Draft and have a good time. All I could ask for really.

• Offline-41 (By Michael Cremisus Gibson): a strange solo TTRPG where you're the admin of a dead Discord server. It has you create a Discord server and RP its history through messages to other people (who aren't really there) and voice chatting with yourself in it. Exploring how bonds fail and the ephemeral nature of the online forum service.

I've been a Discord admin in a large server since 2019 and have been using the service for nearly a decade now. I've seen servers die in real time, and have lost contact with people on the service I used to talk with everyday simply due to life. It's sad and this game really explores well how sad it can be. I appreciate the themes and how it executes them, and I imagine it's a game that will speak to a lot of people my age because of it.

Conclusion

Overall, a great anthology with other quality experiences and TTRPGs beyond the 4/14 listed here. Kado ke-4 untuk Zoey

Alarm alamiku udah auto kebangun biasanya pas adzan subuh atau jam 5 pas. Udah gaperlu pake alarm di hp, bahkan weekend pun bangunnya jam segitu saking terbiasanya. Keingetan hari ini masuk set8 karena ada upacara bendera dulu.. Baru mau bangunin nemo, eeh wali kelasnya ngasih info kalo ngga ada upacara pagi ini. Ooh ya oke, agak nyantei yaa bisa nulis disini dulu haha. Tadi udah sedikit nguprek ke dapur rebus pasta dulu, mau bikinin pasta carbonara buat bekal nona manis.

Oiya, dari hari jumat udah dapet birthday invitation dari temen skelasnya nemo, Zoey ultah hari senin. Iya betul 3 temennya terdahulu termasuk nemo ngga ada yg pake itu dan selalu dadakan alhasil kita beli kadonya jg besokan harinya. Memang bu guru menyarankan begitu wkt awal nemo ultah, tp kami jg bingung krn memang ngga ada selebrasi dan tiup lilin jadi gaperlu announcement kupikir begitu krn cm pgn bagi2 bingkisan dan minta didoain sama temen2 skelasnya. Ternyata cara "main" nya ngga gitu kalo udah di TK haha. Kata bu guru, kalo dadakan anak2/ortunya ngga nyiapin kado jadi takutnya si anak kecewa pas ultahnya ngga dpt kado (beberapa case begini kayanya), makanya bu guru nanya mau di umumin ngga? Aku dgn keukeuhnya gausah karena ngga ada niat minta kado jg. Dan terlebih nemo belom ngerti tentang itu. Dari dulu emg udah sering dpt kado yg dibungkus dari bbrp sodara tp dia belom paham bahwa ultah itu = dapet kado. Nah pas udah ultah baru deh mindset dia berubah, orientasinya berubah.. Bahwa ultah itu ya harus dpt kado yg di bungkus gt loh. Jadi, beberapa hari lalu malah nyeletuk nanya out of nowhere. "bu nenek2ku (ibuku dan mama mertua) belom ngasih aku kado ih (haaa anaknya udah ngerti kado hiks)". Sebetulnya nenek2nya udah ngasih tp ngga dalam bentuk hadiah yg dibungkus. Yah sudahlah pemikirannya udah terkontaminasi, peer aku dah ayah @sagarmatha13 untuk meredamnya jgn terlalu kado-yg-dibungkus oriented. Akhirnya kubilang ke bu guru, untuk skrg (wkt ultah) InsyaAllah anaknya aman bu belom paham dikasih kado, gatau kalo tahun depan (wkwk dah pasrah).

Ya emg knp anak gaboleh ngarep kado saat ultahnya, gpp dong kan msh kecil? Ya itu sama aja kaya punya "mental minta" gituloh yg paling aku gasuka. Mudah2an aja cuma pas masih kecil aja ya sambil kami kasih pengertian terus.. Karena menurutku esensi dari ulang tahun itu bukan sekedar kado dan selebrasi besar2an tapi bentuk rasa syukur.

Nah bener jg sih bu guru karena udah announcement duluan, jadi bisa prepare beli kado buat Zoey. Happy nya jadi bisa Scrolling2 nyari di shopee, harga affordable tapi kualitas bagus belom lagi banyak voucher, cashback ini itu. Dan aku anti kasih mainan kalo ngado dari dulu jg. Kalopun iya mainan harus yg edukatif. Biasanya aku beliin buku, baju, boneka ngga termasuk pilihan, stationery bisa, karena udah usia sekolah. Nah utk Zoey aku putusin beli piyama tidur aja, manfaat bgt kan drpd mainan yg lama2 ntar bosen dan jd sampah (berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi). Wah kalo perbajuan di shopee mah dah kaya surga deh bnyk bgt pilihannya dan bagus2 kualitasnya. Dari velvet junior, little palmerhaus libby, cuit, ardenleon, bohopana, peachbello, nice kids, belom lg yg import (reject dikit) kaya gap kids, hnm, uniqlo.. aduh apalagi ya saking banyaknyaaa. Asli itu semua ramah dompet bgt (btw msh ada istilah "ramah dompet" di jaman serba cashless ini? Wkwk). Jadi dari dulu jarang bgt bgt ke baby shop offline di bdg, paling awal2 mau lahiran da belom usum dan marak marketplace wlpn udah ada pilihannya dikit. Baju2 nemo 90% dapet dari shopee wkwkw. Alhamdulillah paketnya minggu sore nyampe, kertas kadonya masih ada sisa yg wkt ngado ke siapa ya lupaa. Bungkus aja simple trus kasih tanda nama nemo. Ah gorpat ya lain kali nyari di shopee beli Bday card yg di tempel gt (adikku dah beli duluan murah2 dan lucuu) ofc belinya di shopee (rekomen adikku).
