Lexi Branson is a 350 year old Vampire, who arrived in Mystic Hills intending on staying for a brief visit to her old friend, Stefan Salvatore. She remained in town to help with the Vampires who had gotten out of the Tomb, as well as the Kanima after. Unlike most Vampires, she holds human life in high regard, and controls her bloodlust without killing. She works to help keep the peace in Mystic Hills, and allies with the Hale pack to do so.

Why was Lexi seeing right through to the heart of her? Bonnie found the words she might have tried to say - the accurate assessment she might have tried to laughingly brush off - drying up in her throat. If the witch was honest, she could not remember the last time someone had asked her that and wanted to actually know the truth. Wanted a genuine answer and not a glib response to soothe their own guilt. Her friends - she loved them, she did - were too caught up in their own lives to remember that the only people she had was them, and most days she felt like she was barely clinging on to the surface with her fingertips. It felt like free-falling with no safety net in sight.

Bonnie blinked back sudden tears at Lexi's words, looking away before she could do something like cry. "I - I'll do my best." She knew her smile was not quite up to mark, but she could not help it. Could not keep her usual masks up around her in the face of such sincerity and concern.

"maybe so, but i have a feeling you're not being asked that question a lot." lexi observed. bonnie seemed to be the person that everyone relied on when things got complicated. the one who possessed such power and grace that people naturally turned to her for help if they saw no other way out. but since bonnie had most likely adapted to this role a long time ago, the brunette had an inkling that people took her for granted. maybe not deliberately, but she'd done magic for her friends for so long that they just assumed it would always be available. and no one really cared to ask how bonnie was doing, even though using magic was probably draining the young woman of a lot of her energy. "i just hope that while you're surviving, you don't forget to actually live. i know you're always taking care of everyone, just don't forget to take care of yourself too. you deserve that, bonnie."
