When You’re Sick (AOT Men x Reader)
A/N: Drabble/ head canons of how some of men from Attack on Titan would take care of reader when they are sick. Did this for JJK, stay tuned for the Demon Slayer one. No warnings, mostly just fluff Enjoy!
Characters: Erwin, Levi, Jean, Eren, Armin
Erwin Smith: *I just finished season 3 and I'm so gutted, I won't give spoilers away but I legit cried.
This blond haired blue eyed king is the commander for the Scouts so he is busy with a capital B. However if you were sick he would make the effort to take what little breaks he has throughout the day to stop by and check on you
I could see him bringing you hot tea or water when he stops by, placing it on your night stand as he leans down to give you a light kiss on the forehead
As the commander he doesn't want to get sick so he'll keep his distance if your super sick, but he would still come by to check on you and making sure your getting the best medical care
Once your on the mend I could see him making more of an effort to end his day earlier than normal so he can come cuddle you in order to make up for his slight distance whilst you were sick
You hear the bedroom door creak open as the last rays of the sun dip down below the wall. You sit up slightly in bed as your partner comes into view. "Hey darling, how do you feel?", Erwin asks as he comes a bit closer to your bed, placing down the tea he'd brought with him. "Better, still a headache, but no longer coughing, so I think I'll be good to back to work tomorrow", you tell him with a light smile. "I'm glad to hear that", he says coming to sit on the edge of you bed. Erwin reaches out to softly touch your forehead, noting the lack of fever before he leans to give your forehead a light peck. "Will you stay?", you ask him with pleading eyes. "You don't have a fever anymore, so I think I can if that's what you want", he replies. "Then please stay", you tell him. "Ok", Erwin responds before standing up to remove his his jacket and gear before climbing into bed to join you. "Thank you", you whisper as he pulls you to his chest. He hums in response, content with stroking your hair softly as the two of you enjoy a quiet night together.
Levi Ackerman:
Similar to Erwin, he is a busy guy, but that doesn't mean he won't take the time to take care of you. Before he starts his day he is making sure your taking meds, drinking plenty of water, and eating a little bit of food before he feels comfortable with leaving you
100% stopping by during meals to check on you and if you were really sick I could see him taking you to a doctor or getting you the help you need
We all know our short king is a bit of a clean freak so I could see him going out of his way to make sure your room stays fresh and clean, even though your sick, he'll mask and glove up to clean up your dirty tissues and such
If your super sick he'll keep his distance because he needs to stay healthy, but would want updates and such as your recovering. If you aren't to sick I could see him making an effort to just spend a little bit extra of time with you. Levi is a very caring person, so he would make sure you felt cared for during your illness.
"Goddam you look like shit", Hange says as you walk into the kitchen. Levi looks at you with a concerned expression as you hobble in the room. "Feel like it too", you mutter as you move to make some tea. "Maybe you should go lie down, I'll bring you some tea", Hange says with a bit of concern in their face. Before you have chance to respond, Levi cuts in. "Go back to bed, I'll bring you some food and water", he stays in an authoritative tone. You don't even argue, you just nod your head as you turn to head back towards your room. It's not long before Levi enters, gently placing a try of what looks like soup and tea on your night stand. "Eat", he says as he comes to sit on the edge of your bed. "M'not hungry", you say looking at him tiredly. Levi's eyes soften. "Eat a few bites, for me", he says softly, a tone reserved just for you. You take a few bites before you shake your head, signaling you've had enough Levi sighs, but doesn't push you further. "Sleep, if you don't feel better by dinner I'll take you to the doctor", Levi says pulling the blankets up to your chest. You nod your head slightly, "Thanks", you whisper. "Anything for you", he replies as he heads for the door.
Jean Kirstein:
He would do anything and everything for you when your sick. I feel like his partner would be his number one priority, so you'll be taken care of by him
I could see him taking you to the doctor right away, he doesn't want you to get any sicker. If your not sick enough to be resting, Jean would definitely take on some of your work to help lighten your load
He's making sure your eating, getting the necessary fluids down, and making sure you get rest if you need it. Even though your sick that doesn't bother him, he'll cuddle you and what not in order to make you feel better
If he can't be around you when your sick, you best believe that any chance he gets, he's stopping by to check in on you.
"Here", Jean says as he hands you a cup of hot tea. "Thanks love", you whisper, throat too sore to talk at a normal volume. "Of course, I do wish you'd rest though", he replies, a worrying look in his eyes. "It's just a cold, it'll pass after a few days", you tell him before sipping the warm drink. "Ok, but after dinner no staying up late, straight to bed", Jean tells you, giving you a serious look. "Fine", you mutter, though deep down you were happy to follow his command. Jean smiles lightly before kissing your cheek. The two of you spend the rest of your lunch break in comfortable silence.
Eren Jeager:
Eren might not seem very worried on the outside, but on the inside he's a bit anxious when your sick. Does not want you to do any sort of work, even if all you have a simple cold. Could see the two of you having a little argument over you working
Get's what you need without you even needing to ask. Want some tea, already in your hand, head sore from a headache, he's massaging it for you before you go to bed
No shame in sticking close to you if you sick, he's holding your hand/ cuddling you even if it puts him at risk. He wants to make sure that you are cared for in anyway shape or form
If he's unable to be around when your ill, Eren is totally asking Mikasa or Armin to keep an extra eye on you and to update him if anything changes
"You need to stay in bed, you have a fever", Eren huffs as you make your third attempt to crawl out of bed. "I don't care, we have work to do", you tell him angrily. "Hey, even the captain said to take a day of rest, so stop arguing with me" Eren replies with equal anger in his tone. You stop fighting at his words, "Really?", you question. "Really, a sick solider is more of a burden than an un-sick one, so please lay back down" Eren tells you. You sigh, but listen to him. "Fine, but only because the captain said too", you mutter as Eren softly drapes a blanket over you. "Do you need anything?", he questions softly as he gently rubs your cheek with his thumb. You shake your head no, before turning your head to kiss his palm. "Then I'll see you at lunch, please just rest", Eren says before standing up to put on his jacket. "Thank you", you tell him and you mean it. "Of course, sleep", are his last words before he slips out the door, leaving you to get some much needed rest.
Armin Arlet:
One of the sweetest boys out of the whole group. If your sick, he's there for you, even it means putting himself at risk. I could see him going personally out of his way to make you tea or even make you food himself if he has the time
Even if your not sick sick, Armin is already getting you permission to take a sick day, he's not letting his partner get more sick. If your really sick, Armin is taking you to the doctor
Tries to be with you as much as possible, but similar to Eren if he can't be with you he would ask one of his friends to keep an eye on you.
I could see him reading a book you or talking to you in his free time if you felt bored. He's going to do everything in his power to make you feel better
A light touch to your forehead is what wakes you up. "Armin?", you mutter, sleep still heavy in your voice. "Shhh, go back to sleep, I was just checking on you", he responds quietly. "What time is it?", you ask, rubbing sleep from your eyes. "After dinner, you slept most of the day", Armin replies a bit sheepishly. "Damn", you say, moving to sit up. "Don't worry, I brought some food if you feel up for it, but if you want to sleep, I save it", he tells you with a small smile. "I'll eat now, thank you", you tell him you heart swelling at his thoughtfulness. Armin sits on your bed, conversing with you while you eat and once the food is gone and your ready for more sleep, he gives you light peck on the forehead with the promise he'll be back soon to cuddle with you.

some stuff about canon levi confessing? I picture he wouldn’t confess in words or something like that, but i’d really like to hear what you think. loved the pda story about him btw. thank u so much
Canon Levi is seen as cold, quiet, stoic, but very observant and caring toward others when you least expected it.
Nobody could tell that the infamously strict Captain Levi was in love. I mean, who had the guts to stare at his face as his eyes lingered on you slightly longer as you marched past him, or questioned that the Captain insisted you to make tea for the entire team and gave minimal comments on how you could improve your tea brewing skills. Not a single living soul saw Captain Levi in his office rehearsing the conversation he wanted to have with you before he sent Eren to get you. But in the end, he only asked you to carry the reports to Commander Erwin's office because he stuttered.
Levi didn't care about what he was wearing. He had his uniform jacket on most of the time anyway. But it caught his eyes whenever you wore a new shirt or a pair of new pants. His brows frowned when other guy cadets complimented your new clothes, but he couldn't bring himself to tell you you looked better in the old light blue shirt you got months ago.
So he did what he did best. He trained you hard. Only when you were dangling on the maneuver gear with your legs lifted from the ground, Levi could bark orders to you freely.
Go faster! Please survive.
Take sharp turns, pull back your strings and push yourself with the gas pressure! Come back with me.
Make sure you check your gas level before you get on your horse. Come back to me. Please.
Levi studied your postures, your fighting habits, and your careless mistakes. His tongue spitted the most venomous words, but his eyes pouring the deepest worries and concerns he had for you.
No, Levi couldn't say those words to you. He couldn't tell you how much he wanted to touch your skin, or hold your hands, or pull you into his arms. But when the nights got extra difficult to go through alone, Levi sat with you in silence. The fire crackling softly. Your mind somewhere else in the skies. Your body felt too heavy to move. Levi sat there, quietly replacing cold tea with warm ones, waiting patiently for you to drink it. And when you did, the warm tea flowed through your chest, and you exhaled deeply. Your shoulders finally dropped and you were ready to take on another day. Levi's heart eased too. How could you realise that he too held a breath for so long and let it go the moment you let yours go too? You wouldn't see how his brows softened when you told him you felt better and his tea soothed your soul. He said "clean up the table before breakfast, brat" but he meant "don't go where i can't follow".
It wasn't until Eren came back and awakened all the titans in the wall, Paradise Island went into a chaotic state. The Yeagerists took over the military HQ and declared that Hange and Levi had died. Heartbroken and shocked from the news, you hid away as they celebrated the beginning of a new era. You wandered into Levi's office, quietly going through his things before those untamed young cadets destroy it for no reason.
Beneath a stack of death certificates of the cadets who used to be in the same tea with Levi, you found a photograph you took in Marley. It was a group photo that Hange insisted on getting. But you noticed that there was a heart shaped hole on where your face was supposed to be. And then it hit you. Levi kept you in a locket and brought it with him to war.
Tears streamed down your face. Your heart ached and you struggled to breath. Grabbing on the edges of the photograph, you blinked the tears away, trying your best to look at Levi in the photograph. His brows were not frown, he seemed relaxed, like he had planned to keep you in the locket all this while. As if he was saying, "you found my secret, brat."
.
When it was all over, and the night sky was bright with stars, you sat next to Levi with his tea brewing by the side. Levi pulled the locket from his breast pocket and gently dropped it in your palm. You knew what was inside, but you were still surprised to see your face untouched even touch the locket was dented. Stuttering, Levi asked "may I..?" He needed to ask. He was a gentleman. "Yes," you needed to tell him because he deserved a clear confirmation. He rested his rough palm on yours. You leaned against his shoulder, and you both exhaled in relief.
The stars had finally aligned.

Can you do the aot men reactions to a cadet who had an extreme glow up?
✩ aot men & their reaction to your glowup ✩
✩ canonverse ✩
eren jaeger truthfully had never noticed you before your glow up. he only had eyes for mikasa. he didn’t have time to think about girls. but you had changed and he took notice much to mikasa’s dismay. he started to talk to you more.
armin arlert didn’t even notice that you had a ‘glow up.’ all of his friends pointed out at how much you had changed but he didn’t think you looked too much different. you had always been very pretty to him. but since everybody else is noticing, he decides he should make a move.
jean kirstein had started being nicer to you, you noticed. after months of bickering, jean found himself wanting to be closer to you. he wouldn’t admit that you had gotten more attractive, but that wouldn’t stop him from thinking about you.
connie springer had always teased you, all in good fun. when he saw how beautiful you’d gotten, he began to feel bad about it. he’s the first one to tell you how pretty you are and that he never seriously meant any of those jokes.
reiner braun found himself speechless the day you caught his eye. he couldn’t believe that you had looked like that. he began following you around and talking to you until he eventually mustered up the guts to ask you out. it came out as more of a shout than a question.
bertholdt hoover noticed how pretty you had gotten immediately. however, he was too shy to try to talk to you so he’d just talk to reiner and annie about you. annie eventually bribed him into talking to you, getting tired of hearing him run his mouth about you.
levi ackerman doesn’t think about your glow up in great detail. it’s a subtle ‘hmm…’ as he looks into your eyes that you know he’s noticed you. he doesn’t mention anything about it but you swear you catch him looking at you from time to time.
erwin smith found himself wanting to be around you more despite being the commander. he’d make any excuse to talk to you in his office. he once told you how nice you had looked. he never said anything after that, afraid of crossing boundaries.
hey check my jean fic out right here xoxo

Levi Ackerman x reader
Angst, sfw, slight spoilers for season 4
Tumblr media
Something was on your mind. Levi could tell,, but he couldn't exactly put his finger on it. You were losing weight and those eyebags under your eyes weren't unnoticed by him.
It pissed him off. He wasn't pissed just because of your change of habits, but also, the fact that you haven't opened up to him. Why wouldn't you tell him what's bothering you? Wasn't he safe enough for you? Did you not trust him? Perhaps you thought you would bug him.
He had enough of waiting and giving you time. He was going to ask you himself. He found you in the common kitchen one night, you were drinking tea and staring out the window, at the view of the training field. 'Now or never' he thought to himself.
"Hey, brat. Why are you still awake?"
You turned to the voice, the short figure of his standing in the dark, in the middle of the kitchen.
"Hello captain. I could ask you the same."
He raised an eyebrow. "You know I don't need much sleep. What's bothering you? You look like you have a stick up in your ass lately."
You chuckled. His mannerisms when he spoke never failed to make you laugh.
"It's fine. Just...overworking. That's all."
That was a lie. The real reason you've been stressed out was because you finally realized how much you loved Levi and that scared the shit out of you considering how fragile and unstable the situation of Paradis was. Sure, the fact that Eren was gone all by himself in the land of the enemy, the hatred your island was receiving from the whole world and the unavoidable war played their parts. Perhaps if it was 2 years ago when things were much less complicated, you wouldn't be this messed up. But right now you already had so much on your plate and Levi was a new topping on that. You found yourself constantly worried about him, it was ridiculous. You, worrying about the strongest man in the world.
Your sadistic brain kept you up all night thinking about going to Marley, only to lose Levi to their government. Oh if only they knew the power he possessed and the whole "Ackerman clan" history, they would capture him, drug him, put him in a cage and make him mate with random women like an animal just to give them more kids like him and once they are done, they'll leave him with another tragic story. Same thing...no...worse implied to Mikasa. You were so worried about them yet, it was only rational to put those two in the front line because they were the strongest ones.
"You're a talented liar, you know? Except that I can easily tell when you're lying."
"I'm not. Why would I?"
He was annoyed, frowned and clicked his tongue. "Stress is nothing new to you, yet I've never seen you like this. No matter what, you've always been so..."
"Levi, it's fine." He stopped as you interrupted him and let out a breathy sight. "That tea is clearly too cold."
You raised an eyebrow, he could see the amusement in your tired eyes.
He didn't have to know. That's what he realized and why he changed the topic. He needed to stop and calm down. You'd tell him if you wanted to. He had to respect that like he always did. He noticed the sadness and stress in almost everyone and let them be unless they reached out to him for help, but why couldn't he do the same about you? Why did he have to know what was wrong with you? Why was he worried sick in his stomach?
"Let me make you another one, will you?"
"Hmm...I wouldn't mind. Thank you."
Fine, don't tell me.
The next few days were hell for him, at this point he was the one with a stick in the ass. Grumpier than usual, scarier than ever. Even Hange barely could find the guts to talk to him. They would ask you to deliver their messages unless it was something that needed to be discussed face to face, even in that case they asked you to be there during the meeting.
One day, he came to your office with a cupcake in his hand. He remembers the first time he ate one. That was when you offered him one and told him how much you loved cupcakes. He absolutely hated it. Too sweet for his liking that he could throw it up. He left the cupcake on your desk.
"You eating this crap is better than you not eating at all, I guess."
You smiled as you saw the cupcake and took a bite. The flavour brought back your memories of the good old days. Man, you'd never thought you'd be calling those days 'the good old days'. Nanaba, Erwin and Mike. Levi's old squad, your old squad... all gone and the remaining cadets seemed so different now. The rush of memories brought tears to your eyes as your mouth was still full. Your shaking lips and teary eyes didn't go unnoticed by Levi.
"What the hell are you crying about?" His tune sounded a little harsh but mostly concerned. You couldn't tell him, he didn't need a reminder of the ones who got away. Swallowed the cake as tears fell your eyes and smiled. "Thank you, Levi..."
It was as if that was all he needed to hear to figure out everything. He patted your head with sad eyes. "Eat that all, please."

what they don't know
description: you've been hooking up with the Attack on Titan men without telling anyone. a dirty secret well kept.
fem!reader x Erwin; Eren; Levi; Connie (aot/snk)
disclaimers/warnings: NSFW/MDNI; aot universe; groping/fondling; grinding; oral (fem receiving); penetration; riding; blow job
Erwin
One walk-in on the scene and the whole escapade would be over and exposed. The evidence was undeniable: jackets and boots scattered and tossed; suspenders and straps recklessly abandoned; cream pants haphazardly discarded. A clear trail through the litter, right to the scandal unfolding.
The office chair squeaked to its limits at the force of your thighs heavily colliding with Erwin's. With the tightest hold near your hips, he lifted and dropped you onto his long cock at the pace he pleased; your breasts bouncing to his building feverish delight. The blond man couldn't resist pushing his nose into your chest, directly against your sternum, wanted to feel them against his face, under his chin.
You held the medallion around his neck and pulled him closer, listened and gleamed at his responsive groan, meshed your lips and tongue against his to prevent the scream boiling inside.
Eren
It started with a simple question, asked by an anything but simple man. A shaky exhale followed by a firm change in tone, a change in his demeanor that accentuated his height, highlighted the broadness of his already bare shoulders, sweating from sweeping. "Should we go in the sauna?"
Now it was an absolute, joining Eren in the sauna when he was alone, when there was nobody within sight. You'd swivel your hips and drop the towel, helplessly observe as the growing bulge practically removed the loosely hung towel, thank the heavens the steam covered for the sweat and redness from his undivided attention.
The steam made it so much easier to slide onto his cock, grind down onto him, pin him between you and the bench with your strong thighs. Eren had to bite into your shoulder to keep quiet, to let the muffled noises dissipate into the thick sauna fog.
Levi
Levi was always hasty, like he needed to touch and feel every part of you until it was rubbed to oversensitivity, like he needed to do it as soon as possible. He was realistic and calculated, always acutely aware of an unwelcome, nearby presence.
His strong walls cracked every time you dropped to your knees, shields defaulted into wooden planks, vulnerability on total display. You brought him out of his element when you took the thick extremity into your palm, turned him into a needy, nervous, dirty mess as you sucked his cock.
He went stiff as he picked up on activity elsewhere, tried to tug you off by your hair but you were frustratingly insistent on your knees, his tip near your lip. The pit of anxiety swelled into his gut, morphed with immense desire and pleasure into an indiscernible mixture, released into your throat as you sucked softly and he bit the back of his hand.
Connie
You knew from the start Connie's mouth would be dangerous. A big mouth without a filter or a director, acting on a whim and emotion, speaking between thoughts and popping out jokes. It was no surprise when his tongue was poking between your lips, peaking into your mouth and lingering.
And he ran his mouth all the way to your crotch, settled neatly between your thighs, slurping and sucking on the sensitive skin as you spread your legs, rested them above his crafted shoulders.
Connie slowed down but never stopped when someone walked by the room, the footsteps or voices carrying through the walls. Though the voices were so clearly prevalent, you could barely hear it over your soaring heart beat, over the static burning in your brain, as Connie licked and licked and licked.

airplane seats
eren jeager x gn!reader
in which, you begrudgingly accept help from eren, a bottle of pills, and a gay couple sitting next to you with your flying anxiety.
content: flying anxiety, pills, erwin + levi being nosy asf, a very concerned eren :D
The seven of you stand huddled at the airport gate, your tickets shooting out of the machine. As you grab the papers, still warm from exiting the printer, you groan at the seat numbers. Everyone managed to snag seats together except for you.
The seven of you move towards the gate, Connie reassuring you that at least you ended up with an aisle seat, meaning you’re free to escape and jump off the plane when you get too nervous. You prod your fingers into his forehead, rolling your eyes at his words.
Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem. You’re no stranger to being surrounded by the uncomfortable and at times, you even welcome it. However, your deathly fear of airplanes was never something you were never going to embrace. To make matters worse, being separated from your friends and seated with absolute strangers did nothing to make the situation better.
Sasha buys you condolence snacks, telling you that maybe they’ll be really nice and you’ll sleep through the entire flight. You watch her pickpocket the snacks she gave you while you talk to Mikasa and choose to ignore it. It’s the thought that counts. Mikasa offers to switch seats with you, which you decline, since you know she isn’t a big fan of planes either. Jean tells you that your fear is irrational and that you should just ignore it, which garners him a punch in the gut from both you and Mikasa.
As you turn to the gate, you stare down at your ticket, watching Mikasa, Jean, Sasha, Connie, and Armin get onto the plane. You look over to your right and find Eren still standing next to you.
“I have something to help with your problem.” he says, his hands fidgeting behind his back.
You turn to him, a questioning look on your face. He pulls out a white bag, an orange pill bottle secured inside. Your eyes widen, looking up at him.
“I promise they’re safe. They’ll just put you to sleep for takeoff, which I know you said is the worst part. Maybe if you’re not awake for it, it won’t be as bad.” he explains, pulling out a water bottle for you as well.
“Okay, I’ll try it. Can’t promise it’ll work.” you say, shooting him a grateful smile. As the two of you head towards the gate, Eren rolling both of your bags, you feel yourself turn positively green.
You turn the corner, reaching the walkway onto the plane. You can see Sasha and Mikasa at the end, scanning their tickets and stepping onto the plane. You feel your chest tighten, the breakfast you had earlier coming up. The smell of the airplane reaches your nose, the fear creeping into your chest. You stop at the start of the bridge, your feet glued to the ground.
Sensing your absence, Eren turns around, looking over at you. He hurries over, his hands resting on your shoulders. He squeezes twice, instructing you to take two deep breaths with him.
“You’re fine. The pills are completely safe. I would never give you anything that would hurt you.” he says, his hands dropping from your shoulders to grab the ends of your wrists.
You meekly nod, still feeling positively green.
“Turbulence is normal. The plane is built to handle it. If it’s too much, we can switch seats so you’re with Armin and Mikasa. Come get me if you need me. Keep me updated on how you feel.” he says, his eyes searching yours for admittance.
You nod at him and brace yourself for the nineteen hour flight ahead of you. The two of you head down the walkway, scanning your tickets and stepping onto the plane. You leave Eren at the start of the plane, him settling into the seats he had next to Armin and Mikasa. Their row was directly behind Connie, Sasha, and Jean, who were already rationing (arguing over) the snacks they had bought hours before.
They all shoot you a thumbs up, as you trudge down towards the end of the plane to find your seat. As you reach the row, you find yourself seated next to two men who make eye contact with you as you sit down. The man seated in the window was reading a book, The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies. The other man, seated next to you, was cruising through the entertainment guide, browsing the National Geographic section.
You couldn’t help but admire how attractive they both were as you sat down. The man in the window was small, his jet black hair and gray eyes striking you. The man in the middle, directly next to you, had the definition of perfect blonde hair, his blue eyes glimmering in the fluorescent plane light. You think he could be a model if he tried. They were both wearing button up shirts, their slacks perfectly pressed. You suddenly feel awkward in your sweatpants and hoodie, but banish the thought all together.
You yank out the bottle Eren gave you from your pocket. You feel your hands shaking, reading over the recommended dose. One pill, with water.
“Get nervous on planes?” said the man next to you, shooting you a polite smile.
“That obvious?” you say, laughing awkwardly.
“I’m Erwin. Erwin Smith. My partner, Levi, has taken those before.” he explains, gesturing to the man in the window.
“I’m Y/N. Did they work?”
He looks up from his book, glaring at the two of you. You shoot him a weak smile, suddenly feeling guilty for interrupting him from the book he was reading.
“No.” he deadpans, returning back to his book.
Your heart drops. The smallest sense of confidence you had was shattered with his words. Or word. What are you supposed to do now?
“Excuse him. Do you have any companions on the plane? Levi has mentioned that a familiar presence makes the flight easier at times.” he asks.
“Yeah, my friends are all sitting up there together. I was supposed to be sitting there too, but my friend Jean messed up my ticket.” you respond.
“You can always turn to them for help, if needed. And granted, the pills did knock Levi out for an hour at a time, so it wouldn’t hurt to try them.” he says, smiling to himself. He returns to browsing the entertainment guide and you stare down at the bottle. You don’t miss the look Levi gives Erwin, the two of them communicating something that was lost to you entirely.
You tighten your seatbelt one last time and swallow the pills Eren gave you. You decide five is a good amount, enough to knock you for the first five hours of the flight, if Levi and Erwin’s words were correct. As the safety feature starts and the plane starts moving on the runway, you feel yourself getting a little drowsy, your eyes fluttering closed.
 -
Your eyes shoot open, your ears popping from the altitude. You feel yourself nestled in someone’s arms, the embrace tight.
You feel your blood turn cold. Did you fall asleep on Erwin after taking the pills? This has to be a new low.
You release yourself from the embrace, your cheeks turning red at the embarrassing thought. You feel him move behind you, his hand reaching for your shoulder.
“Y/N, you okay?”
You look back over, realizing you were lying in Eren’s arms. Eren. But wait, what happened to Erwin? You look past him, seeing Levi still sitting in his seat, leaning against the window fast asleep. So you didn’t imagine the men you were sitting next to.
“What happened to Erwin?” you whisper, rubbing your eyes to clear your sight.
“Who?” he whispers in response.
“The guy who was sitting here.”
“Oh, Eyebrows. Well, I came to check on you after we took off, but you were fast asleep. I came back after an hour and you were knocked out. I kept coming back, worried that you were allergic to the pills or that they were too strong or something. I think he felt bad I kept coming back, that he offered to switch so I could keep an eye on you. He’s sitting with Mikasa now.” he explains.
“That’s my fault. I took five of them instead of one. The guy in the window, Levi, mentioned that they don’t really work so I figured if I took more maybe they would.”
Eren narrows his eyes at you, looking into yours. In hindsight, you realize taking that many was a little bit too far. He reaches for your wrist, his fingers intertwining with yours.
“Don’t do that again.” he whispers, his voice slightly angry.
You feel the guilt sit in your throat. You knew Eren had a tendency to think in the worst case scenario, something you related to all too well. You place a hand on his shoulder, looking into his green eyes.
“Sorry, ‘Ren. I was just scared.” you whisper.
You see him soften under your touch, shaking his head at your words.
“I know. Close your eyes and rest now, don’t think too much about the plane.” he says, opening his arm for you to rest on his shoulder.
You nod, leaning into his shoulder, enveloped by the smell of his laundry detergent and honey dew cologne.
 -
After what feels like hours, you give up on trying to rest like Eren asked you to. He’s currently resting his head against your shoulder, fast asleep on your arm.
You look over to find Levi, awake and reading his book once again. You see that he’s nervously twitching his leg, looking unsettled. You feel guilty for letting Erwin move for you, especially when he mentioned Levi gets uncomfortable.
“I’m sorry Erwin switched. I wouldn’t have let him if I was awake.” you whisper, catching Levi’s attention.
Levi looks up from his book, his gray eyes glaring into yours. You curse yourself for speaking, having interrupted his reading for a second time now. You shoot a small smile at him, feeling your palms get sweaty as you feel Levi cursing you down to your soul.
“He kept coming back, pressing his fingers to your neck to make sure your pulse was still there. Six times in twenty minutes.” he says, after an unbearably long silence.
The guilt settling in your chest feels even worse, looking down at Eren who was still sleeping against your shoulder. You place a hand in his hair, untangling the knots forming at the back of his head. You feel your heart tighten in your chest, feeling horrible for worrying him, when all he did was make sure you were okay.
Some more time passes, Levi’s words still ringing in your heads. You’re dreaming up all the ways you can make it up to Eren, maybe convincing the rest of them to let him see the beaches in Amalfi, which were currently not on your travel docket. Or buying him a really expensive watch he had been eyeing. It was out of your price budget, but you could make it work.
Levi breaks the silence again, shutting his book.
“Let him help you. You’re not doing loverboy the service you think you are when you deny him.”
“Loverboy?”
He narrows his eyes down, signaling at Eren. You look over at him, confused at his words. Loverboy? He narrows his eyes down to Eren and then back to you. He turns back over to his left, leaning his forehead against the wall to sleep again. You look back down at Eren, left to ponder Levi’s words.
 -
At some point, you dozed off, your head leaning against Eren’s. However, the service announcement over the speaker announced that you would be landing in five minutes, strartles you awake. As you lift your head from Eren’s shoulder, you look over to see him with his glasses on, reading a book. The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies.
He closes the book as you sit up, his fingers brushing through the tangles in your hair. He smiles over at you, wordlessly placing a granola bar and a water bottle on the tray in front of you. You open your mouth to protest, but spot the back of Levi’s jet black hair, as he looks out the window.
His words from the night before ring in your head, the protest dying on your tongue. You take the granola bar, ripping into it. You look over at Levi and you swear the tiniest makings of a smile are spreading across his face. He turns to you, glaring at the sight of you looking at him. You smile in return, silently thanking him anyways.
As the plane hits the ground, you feel your heart ease, the cursed plane ride finally being over. Eren looks over at you, smiling at you as well, your hands still locked together.
As people start leaving their seats, you and Eren stand in the aisle, reaching for your luggage. You look over to see Erwin joining Levi, removing their bags from the compartment next to yours. You figure he couldn’t reach without Erwin anyways.  Levi turns over to the two of you, leaning close to Eren’s face.
“Tell her what you told us or I’ll find you on the coast and wring out your neck myself.” he says, pointing his finger at Eren and stalking away to exit the plane.
You shoot him a confused look, shocked by the threat Levi had just made. Erwin turns to the two of you, placing a hand on your shoulders.
“The two of you look great together. Best of luck, Eren!” he says, striding off to join Levi, the two of them joining hands and passing you one last glance as they exit off the plane.
You and Eren quietly exit off the plane, with the five of them already at the gate, tracking down the hotel reservations.
“What were they talking about?” you ask Eren, pushing your bags down the bridge.
“When I asked to switch places with Erwin, Levi asked for one good reason as to why he should do that. So, I gave them a reason.” he says, pulling the hood of his jacket off the top of his head.
“Which was?” you ask, your voice trailing in the air.
He pauses, exiting off the bridge and turning to you.
“That you won’t accept my help. Or Connie, or Jean’s, or Mikasa’s. That you’ll suffer in silence, freaking out on planes, stressing during parties, crying on your birthdays. If I make one plane easier for you, maybe you’ll be receptive to the rest too.” he says, not missing the tone of anger in his voice.
You stare at him, stunned by his words.
“That and the fact that you took five pills instead of one nearly made my head explode.” he says.
“You needed luck to tell me that?”
You see the frustration in the lines of his forehead, the reason for his anger lost to you completely.
“I needed luck to tell you that I like you.” he says, practically seething.
Levi’s words from the plane ring back to you. You’re not doing loverboy the service you think you are when you deny him.
You swallow the lump in your throat. Eren likes you. Eren likes you. The thought of confessing makes you nervous, the thoughts of him running in the other direction passing through your mind.
You’re not doing loverboy the service you think you are when you deny him.
Levi’s words weigh heavy on your conscience, with Eren still waiting for a response. You leap.
“The thought of you makes me nervous. Every time you look at me, my heart starts racing, pounding in my chest. Every time you touch me, my skin burns at the touch, tingling for minutes after. Every time you speak to me, you make my heart glow.”
You look up at him, not missing the shock plastered on his face.
“Make it easier for me to look at you. I need your help because I don’t know how to do this with you.” you say, the words trembling out of your lips.
He looks at you, his eyes softening at the sight of you. His hands rise to cradle the sides of your cheeks. You squint at the contact, feeling the nervousness rise in your chest again. His lips rest against the top of your forehead, pressing a soft, gentle kiss to your skin.
“We’ll go slow. Until it’s easy to look at me. Then to touch me. And then to talk to me.” he says, whispering against your hair.
You smile up at him, the nervousness in your chest settling down. You nod, returning the smile he’s giving you. The two of you link arms, passing Levi and Erwin in the store nearby, joining the group at the end of the gate.
You don’t miss Erwin and Levi’s stares, silently wondering if they stood around to watch you and Eren exit the plane. You wave at them as you pass, smiling brightly at the two of them. They quickly turn heads, pretending not to see you all together.
-
“Told you they’d get together. She’s definitely less stubborn than you were. ”
“Shut up, Erwin.”

Attack on Prime New Age Anthology: Return to that Sick Mind II
Main Story
Icebreakers
Strange Technology
Return to that Sick Mind I
"I told you the Autobots are still on Cybertron," Megatron stated as Optimus continued pace in the forest, his battle mask equipped. Meanwhile, the former warlord was leaning against a tree watching the Prime pace, "I don't know if anyone attacked."
"Yet you do not have evidence to prove you claim," Optimus retorted.
"I left the planet after you became one with Primus. How many time do I have to explain that to you?" Megatron demanded.
"They are my comrades, and what makes you so sure that I can believe what you're telling me?" Optimus demanded.
"It's not like either of us can return to Cybertron," Megatron said, "This planet could be billions of light years away and this world has less technology than Earth. It hasn't even invented electricity yet. Besides, I killed the one threat to Cybertron before I left. Airachnid was stranded on Luna-1. She would've planned an attack, knowing her, so I had to intervene before it was too late."
"So you did kill Airachnid," Bumblebee spoke, directing the current Megatron from the memory.
"Airachnid was the only threat that I had a confirmed location on," the current Megatron explained, "If she decided to attack Cybertron with her horde of Insections, you wouldn't have stood a chance, considering your numbers."
"...thanks for that, I suppose," Bumblebee said.
"Don't thank him!" Ratchet shouted through the comm. link.
"Bumblebee, you need to ask about these claims," Ultra Magnus reminded.
"Look, I know that you have a history with Optimus, and Optimus would probably advocate for you," Bumblebee began, "But these other humans...did..." Bumblebee was afraid to ask, but... "Did one of them blackmail you?"
Bumblebee froze in place when he saw Megatron's optic twitch in response before he let out a groan of frustration.
"The mad scientist told you!" Megatron pointed at Bumblebee, "I knew they would say something like that because they know they can get away with it! I bet they had a smug grin on their face when telling that fragging story!"
"What the frag?" Bulkhead questioned in confusion.
"That's exactly what Jack said in the text," Smokescreen added.
"So!...that happened?!" Bumblebee demanded.
Megatron rolled his optics as the memories shifted once more to that of a small room. Bumblebee saw the human in question, sitting at the other end of a table while Megatron was in his human form, standing up.
“Your threats, your murderous tendencies, nearly shooting Levi in the gut, threatening to destroy humanity unless Erwin resigned, almost killing Historia. Believe me, that list goes on for a while!” Hanji stood up and glared at him. “It becomes my business when my comrades get threatened. Your help isn’t worth it if my subordinates don’t feel safe.”
Megatron smiled wickedly. “Is that supposed to be threatening? How pathetic must you be?”
Hanji clicked their tongue in response. “If anything, you’re the pathetic one. How low do you have to go in order to make Optimus happy? Especially since he hasn’t forgiven you for all the shit you pulled during the war.”
Bumblebee saw the shift in Megatron’s eyes before it turned into anger, but the human continued. “You haven’t been one to deny it. I mean, you have no issue murdering anyone or anything that gets into the way of what you want, something you know Optimus doesn’t approve of.”
“I don’t care about what Optimus thinks of me,” Megatron proclaimed.
Hanji tilted their head in response, and Bumblebee saw their calculated expression turn into one of apathy as they shrugged.
“Fine,” Hanji walked past Megatron and to the door, “If you don’t care, as you like to put it, I’ll just go talk to Optimus right now. I’m sure Optimus would be happy to know that you blackmailed humanity’s strongest and the 13th Commander of the Survey Corps. Even better, Optimus would love to hear those words you said to Eren back in the coup, which started the domino effect of him wanting to put a bullet in skull.”
Bumblebee could see genuine panic in Megatron's eyes as Hanji reached for the door. He saw it crack open and he did see someone else on the other side of the door before Megatron rushed over and slammed it shut. Bumblebee couldn't help but fear for Hanji's life as they looked up at Megatron's murderous expression. But they didn't cower in fear.
They smirked in response to his action. “Did I touch a nerve?”
“Give me one good reason why I should not kill you where you stand,” Megatron ordered ominously.
Hanji sucked in a breath and thought it over. “That’s the thing: you can’t kill me.”
Bumblebee flinched in fear as Megatron wrapped his hand around Hanji's neck and slammed them into the door. Bumblebee also noticed the current Megatron actually flinching at the memory too.
“I’ve told you before that I could snap your neck before another word comes out of your mouth,” Megatron reminded them, “Do you really want your last words to be a bluff?”
Hanji chuckled before speaking in a strained voice. “You’ve always made these types of threats. Honestly, it’s kind of boring and redundant.”
Hanji winced as Megatron’s grip became tighter, but they still smiled wickedly in response. “So go on. Kill me so I don’t have to hear your horse shit.”
Megatron still had that murderous look in his eyes, but he made no move to end their life.
“Aw, what’s the matter?” Hanji goaded, “Killing a human suddenly too hard for you, or is the tactic too easy to be traced back to you?”
“You should be terrified,” Megatron told them.
“Believe me, I am,” Hanji admitted to the titan, “But I thought it over. You haven’t killed me because I’m an ally to Optimus Prime. You care for Optimus; you can’t deny that now. You care about him, and his interests. So…if a person is a sure threat to Optimus, you can make a move to eliminate them. But…if the person is an ally: You. Can’t. Touch. Them. Which is why you didn’t kill Levi when you had the chance, why you were hesitant to kill Historia, and why you won’t kill me right now. So unless you want Optimus to go batshit crazy on you, you might want to put me down.”
Bumblebee couldn't help but wait in anticipation. He waited for the other shoe to drop and for Megatron to kill them, but Megatron dropped them. Hanji gasped as they collapsed onto the ground, coughing while rubbing their neck from the pain.
“Looks like I was right,” Hanji spoke.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself,” Megatron warned.
“Those threats are empty now,” Hanji retorted.
“Then let me make a real one,” Megatron began as he grabbed Hanji’s face, “The same one I gave to your predecessor: go against Optimus’ wishes, and I’ll destroy the island.”
“Hurt any of my subordinates and I’ll make sure Optimus never forgives you,” Hanji threatened.
“…It seems we are at an impasse,” Megatron commented as he let them go, “What I don’t understand is why bother to go through the effort?”
“You are a powerful titan from among the stars,” Hanji reminded, “I’d do anything to know what’s inside that head of yours.”
"All of that just to get a reaction?!" Bumblebee exclaimed.
"Looking back, I'm certain something else trigger Hanji's little hypothesis," Megatron explained, "Still, our relationship is...strange and chaotic. Part of the time, they asked for my assistance. Other times, they asked about my mission. And multiple times they have tested my patience as an experiment."
"...They threw a whiskey bottle at you!" Bumblebee exclaimed.
"That!...actually wasn't related to their demeanor," Megatron confessed.
"I'm confused, because it sounds like you're not blaming them for throwing a whiskey bottle at you," Bumblebee accused.
"...When I was infiltrating Marley, I had aligned myself with someone who proclaimed to want to help the island. However, we had learned that this ally was responsible for the death of their comrade that was marked off as missing in action. I got him to make a confession and it caused them to spiral. They demanded that I kill him out of revenge and spite, but the vitality of the mission was more important in that moment."
Bumblebee watched the scene shift into that of an office. The same person that displayed confidence moments before was now lying on the couch, drunk and tired, while Megatron's holoform was standing on the other side of the room, with a young teen right behind him.
"I told them no," Megatron declared.
As if Hanji heard the current Megatron's response, they shot up from the couch and lifted their head, and Bumblebee saw their gritted teeth and angry eyes, their cheeks dried from tears spent earlier. Hanji grunted as they threw the whiskey in their hand at the two. Megatron quickly got in front of the teen behind him and the bottle hit Megatron directly on the side of his head. The action stunned Bumblebee. Megatron protected a human with no incentive again.
“Are you,” Hanji grabbed the other empty whiskey bottle, “FUCKING SERIOUS?!”
Hanji chucked the bottle with better accuracy, but Megatron was able to catch the bottle in time before throwing it aside.
“I’m telling you to KILL ZEKE!” Hanji shouted as they stumbled towards him, “You hate Marley! You hate humanity! I’m telling you to go insane! Do what you’ve been doing for the past four million fucking years! AND YOU WON’T EVEN TAKE THAT CHANCE?!”
Hanji tried to throw a punch at Megatron, but the titan caught their wrist with ease. Hanji then shoved their other hand onto Megatron’s face, wanting to yank on something. Maybe his hair. “I BET YOU’D DO IT IN A HEARTBEAT IF IT WAS OPTIMUS ASKING YOU!”
Bumblebee watched Hanji continue to struggle and do damage to Megatron, but nothing seemed to be working. Bumblebee glanced over at the current Megatron and saw...pity in Megatron's optics.
“WHAT DID WE EVER DO TO YOU?!” Hanji screamed, earning Bumblebee's attention, “Humans didn’t hurt you, or torture you, or do god knows what! What did humanity ever do to make you hate us so much?! Do you just hate us because you can?! Are you just that spiteful?!”
Hanji grabbed the coat of the holoform as tears fell down their cheeks. “We didn’t do anything wrong! We didn’t hurt you! We didn’t hurt anyone out there! We just wanted humanity to be free! Maybe I tortured and killed people! So did Levi! But Mike didn’t! Mobilit didn’t! Petra, Oluo, Eld, Gunther, none of them did! They were good people! They died for a noble dream!”
Hanji hung their head as their tears hit the floor. “They died for a dream that never existed. For a lie. It was all a lie. God…god…I’m so tired…I just…want to die.”
Nothing was heard in the room besides Hanji's tears. Bumblebee grew fearful as Megatron moved his hand towards Hanji. He grabbed their chin and forced the Commander to look up at him with their teary and heartbroken face.
“Hanji, you know just as well as I do why the Beast Titan is still alive,” Megatron said to them, “He still has a use for the island. A resource like him cannot be so easily wasted. He also holds the power of the nine titans, and is of royal blood. I’m certain you don’t want to put the Queen in danger so soon. When the Beast Titan’s usefulness runs its course, which it will eventually, I will grant you your wish. I will make sure that human goes through unbearable and unspeakable torment to the point where he will be begging for death. Then I will force him to undergo something far worse than death itself. Until that day, you must wait and be patient. But I assure you that day will come sooner than later.”
Bumblebee could tell Hanji wasn't satisfied with Megatron’s response. They forced themselves out of Megatron’s hold before stumbling over to the table. They hunched over it before holding the mechanism that was there in their arms with the utmost care.
“Get the fuck out of my office,” Hanji ordered in a defeated voice.
"Pretty violent reassurance," Bumblebee remarked, trying to ease the tension.
"I'm not good at providing reassurance," Megatron reminded.
"I'm just surprised you'd provide it at all," Bumblebee confessed, "It's unlike you."
"Bumblebee, don't be deceived. This is Megatron we're talking about!" Ratchet warned.
"Wait, Knockout, did you get snacks?!" Smokescreen yelled.
"I've done many things that aren't like me ever since I've arrived on this planet," Megatron declared, "I've been working with humans, pretending to be a human, and-!"
"Created a cure for an energon virus for a human," Bumblebee interjected, causing Megatron to look at him in surprise. Bumblebee expected Megatron to lash out in anger. Deny the action and demand who would tell him such a ridiculous claim, but instead, Megatron opened his mouth and said-!
"Colt's alive?" Bumblebee looked flabbergasted at the concern and relief on Megatron's face. Bumblebee saw the memories change and he found himself in an infirmary. Megatron's holoform was holding a notebook while seated, talking with a rather sickly teen lying in bed, forcing himself to sit up.
“Did…did you find a cure for me?”
“I wouldn’t call it a cure,” Megatron admitted, this time in a different accent, “We still haven’t seen long term effects of the substance I’ve made. I have been working non-stop to come up with something however.”
Colt shook his head in disbelief. “I…I don’t understand.”
“Understand what?” Megatron began as he reopened his notebook.
“Why would you go through that much effort to find a cure for me?” Colt asked him, “Why are you going through that much effort to save my life? I’m an Eldian: a devil. I shouldn’t be worth your time. A-and it’s not even now. The first day we met, the treats, the acts of kindness. I don’t understand why you’re doing all of this.”
“Do I really need a reason?” Megatron asked him as he read his notes, “I’ve lived in an environment where Eldia and Marley don’t matter. While everyone around you see you as a devil, I just see a little kid. When you realize that Eldian and Marley don’t matter, the world is your oyster.”
Megatron looked up at Colt, and the ex-con could see the somewhat sad and tired expression on his face. Megatron shut the notebook and leaned forward.
“I…I also think that you’re a good kid,” Megatron confessed, “You don’t buy into the Marley propaganda, and you just want to keep your family and brother safe. It’d be disappointing to see someone like you die so early.”
"I know I crafted a persona that didn't care for Marley's glory or the Eldians," the current Megatron began, "But I did mean those words."
"...you grew attached to the enemy?" Bumblebee asked in surprise.
"More pity than attachment," Megatron clarified, but even Bumblebee could tell that was a weak lie, "Eldians were forced into internment zone because they had the ability to transform into cannibalistic titans. If the pure titan isn't able to find a titan shift, one who can freely transform from human to titan at will, they would be stuck like that for all eternity. No humanity, no intelligence, just the innate desire to consume humans in order to regain their humanity by the slimmest of chances. Because of this, Eldians like him have been treated as second class citizens. Less rights, less food, discrimination, these humans aren't even allowed burial rights. Their bodies are devoured by pure titans or carted off for experimentation."
Bumblebee saw a memory of Megatron's holoform reading a book while four children and that same teen were running laps. "They were brainwashed into believing their devils, and the only way to prove that they were 'good Eldians' were to become weapons of the state. A false glory that shortened their life by thirteen years if they were lucky."
Bumblebee looked towards the faces of those kids, running out of breath as they ran with large backpacks on them.
"You probably could have done more to help them," Bumblebee retorted.
"It wasn't that simple," Megatron declared, "Not when the entire world hates Eldians and wanted them dead. My moves had to be calculated or Paradis would have fallen."
Bumblebee watched as there was chaos and fire at the military base. The woman, Pieck, had transformed into a titan to attack her enemy, while Megatron's holoform was on foot, running towards those four children. Bumblebee saw one with glasses sitting up and exposing himself.
“Keep your head down!” Megatron shouted at them, but it was too late. The sniper fired, the bullet flew past Pieck’s rampaging titan form, and ran through Udo’s head. Gabi watched in horror as Udo’s glasses flew off and his lifeless body hit the ground.
“UDO!” Gabi screamed as Megatron reached the dune and grabbed her before forcing her head down. Megatron finally managed to get a good look at the scene before him. Zofia had some shrapnel from the explosion that flew and hit her in the leg, and Falco was initially trying desperately to remove it and patch it up with what little he had. But both were distracted, staring in disbelief as blood pulled from Udo’s head.
“Udo?” Zofia could only breathe.
“No! No!” Falco yelled.
“UDO! GET UP!” Gabi screamed from her pinned position as she tried to reach for her dead friend.
"...I suppose I could have done more." Bumblebee looked up at Megatron, but the ex-con was looking away from the memory and him.
"...Are the others alive?" Megatron asked.
"What?" Bumblebee was confused at the question.
"Optimus, the Survey Corps, even the Marleyans, are they still alive?" Megatron demanded, facing Bumblebee, "Because I know that Lara is dead. What about the others?"
Before Bumblebee could respond, the memories changed into that of his own just moments before, with Ultra Magnus going over the names and faces that Jack had given him.
"Scrap, Bumblebee!" Ratchet yelled at him.
"It wasn't me!" Bumblebee hissed in the comm. link as Megatron approached the screen. He scanned the names of all the people in Jack's text and sighed in defeat.
"So Connie is dead, and Levi and Jean are in surgery," Megatron read the list before turning to Bumblebee, "Do you have a status on the ones in surgery?"
"Recovering, from what I've heard," Bumblebee replied.
Megatron didn't seem satisfied with the answer, but let it go for right now.
"...who's Lara?" Bumblebee asked, "Ratchet and Knockout said she wanted to talk to you in her last moments."
Megatron sighed in response as the memories changed. Bumblebee saw Megatron's holoform fighting with another woman. The ex-con was attacking the woman with a sword, while the woman was swinging a rather large hammer.
"Lara Tybur was apart of the Tybur Family. Holder of the War Hammer Titan, and sister to the head of the family: Willy Tybur," Megatron explained, "I had come into contact with the family by sheer accident, saving one of the children from a hostage situation on a train. Willy wanted to express gratitude by offering me a favor. I was going to that favor to escape from Marley in the event my identity had been compromised. But since I had the connection to the only Eldians that the world ever respected, I figured I could learn some useful information from them."
Bumblebee saw a memory of Willy talking and laughing with Megatron, although Megatron didn't seem too amused. "He asked me to train Lara. I learned as much as I could. He considered me a friend because I didn't laud him like the others, but I was still using him for my own gain. And Lara...developed feelings for my human persona."
"What?" Bumblebee's mouth dropped.
"NO WAY!" Smokescreen yelled.
"Oh my Primus, this is the best day of my life!" Knockout cackled.
"I need some of those rust sticks!" Bulkhead demanded.
"Please don't tell me you-!"
"By the Allspark, no!" Megatron yelled as the memory changed, before pointing at it.
“Ignore her, and ignore what I said that week,” Lara insisted.
“I think it needs to be addressed because it sounded like a confession,” Megatron declared.
“…it was stupid,” Lara admitted, “Just a silly crush, especially for someone like me with a shortened lifespan.”
“…Lara, I have no idea what you could possibly see in me,” Megatron told her bluntly, “But even if the shortened lifespan and my unwillingness to actually be in a committed relationship didn’t matter, you’re not my type.”
Lara seemed a little hurt by the proclamation. “I never had a chance to begin with.”
“You’re nice, but you’re…obedient and reserved,” Megatron told her, “I’d like someone who would challenge me.”
Lara huffed at that. “So much for hoping.”
Bumblebee could hear Knockout dying of laughter while he could hear someone gagging in the background. Meanwhile, the Warrior felt his face heat up in embarrassment. "This feels weird to watch."
"Regardless." Megatron regained his composure, "...I ended up saving the Tybur's life one more time. Maybe because I...felt something for them. I don't know."
Bumblebee watched Megatron's human form shove Willy off the stage before he was crushed by a giant hand. "I guess it helped that you didn't actually die."
"...I'm sure it devastated him when he learned the truth," Megatron proclaimed, "And Lara as well. But...in her final moments she seemed content, and died a warrior's death, earning the honor that her family had lied about for years."
"...So you have respect for Lara, but do you consider Willy a friend?" Bumblebee asked.
"...no," Megatron decided.
"You hesitated there," Bumblebee commented.
"I don't want to talk about it," Megatron declared.
"Wait, did he do something to make you upset?" Bumblebee asked.
"I don't want to talk about it," Megatron repeated, but the memory was already changing...to that of a human party...and Megatron in a suit...dancing with a middle aged woman.
"WHAT IS THAT?!" Bumblebee and all the other Autobots screamed.
"No." Megatron ducked his helm in embarrassment.
"Why are you dancing?!" Bumblebee demanded, and he could've sworn he heard someone collapse on the other end of the call.
"It was for the mission!" Megatron declared.
"You're wooing a crowd!" Bumblebee gestured to another memory.
"Shut up!" Megatron yelled at him.
Meanwhile, outside of the Patch, Knockout was dying of laughter on the floor while Ratchet had passed out altogether. Smokescreen and Bulkhead were trying to wake him up, while Ultra Magnus looked like his processors had short circuited.
(So this might actually be multiple parts. There are quite a few memories to sort through anyway. So maybe there will be 2 more parts to this section of the New Age Anthology. We'll see.)

The Devil's Bride
Aurora Jaeger, Eren's long-lost childhood friend, was taken from him when they were children. After years of suffering under Marleyan control, Aurora is reunited with Eren while he’s undercover in Marley, igniting a bond neither of them expected. Despite her gentle nature, Aurora breaks her vow of pacifism to save Eren’s life, solidifying their deep connection. Secretly married before the Raid on Liberio, Aurora is swept into Eren's world of chaos and destruction. As the Scouts learn of her existence, tensions rise on the airship home. Mikasa’s heart shatters, and Levi demands answers. And Eren will stop at nothing to protect the only light left in his dark world—his bride, Aurora.
In this journey of love, loyalty, and war, Aurora must reconcile her innocent heart with the brutal reality of the man she loves, while Eren faces the truth of what he’s become. (Eren x OC)
Tumblr media
Chapter One
The airship trembled as it flew over the remnants of Liberio, the chaos and destruction Eren had unleashed still visible below. Inside the dimly lit cabin, the scouts were silent, their expressions taut with disbelief and horror. Blood, dirt, and the smell of gunpowder clung to their uniforms as they processed the events of the raid.
Mikasa, standing at the far end, couldn’t stop staring at Eren, who sat quietly near the back of the ship, his head lowered, his long brown hair falling in front of his face. His hands, still bruised and bloodied from his transformation, rested protectively around a petite woman who leaned into him, trembling slightly.
Aurora Jaeger, her platinum-blonde hair cascading in soft waves down her back, looked terrified, her delicate hands clutching Eren's shirt as if it were her only lifeline. She had been silent since he had carried her into the airship, her wide, ice-blue eyes darting nervously around the cabin at the faces of the scouts who stared back at her with confusion and suspicion.
Levi’s sharp gaze narrowed on Eren from across the room, his voice cutting through the thick tension. "Who is she?" His tone was low, demanding. His eyes didn’t leave Eren for a second.
Eren didn’t answer immediately. His hold on Aurora tightened ever so slightly, his jaw clenched, as if bracing himself for the inevitable confrontation. Aurora’s grip on his shirt tightened in response, and she buried her face into his shoulder, seeking comfort in his presence.
Mikasa’s heart twisted painfully at the sight, the familiar pang of jealousy and heartbreak swelling in her chest. The way Aurora clung to Eren, the way he held her—so gently, so protectively—it was a side of him Mikasa had never seen before. Her fists clenched by her sides, but she remained silent, her eyes burning with unspoken questions.
Levi took a step forward, his impatience growing. "Eren," he barked, "I asked you a question. Who is she, and why the hell did you bring a civilian on board?"
Finally, Eren lifted his head, his green eyes dark and unreadable, yet simmering with an intensity that made everyone freeze. His voice, when he spoke, was steady, emotionless. "She’s my wife."
The cabin fell into stunned silence. The word seemed to hang in the air like a bombshell, and every pair of eyes shot toward Aurora, whose face was now hidden against Eren’s chest. Mikasa’s breath caught in her throat, her body going rigid as the realization hit her like a punch to the gut.
"Wife?" Jean was the first to break the silence, his voice filled with disbelief. "You’re telling me you got married while we were out there risking our lives?!"
Eren didn’t flinch. His gaze remained fixed on Levi, as if daring anyone to question him further. "Yes. Aurora is my wife. And no one is going to touch her."
Levi’s eyes darkened, but his voice remained calm, cold. "You expect us to believe that you married some Marleyan in the middle of a mission?"
Aurora flinched at the sharpness in Levi’s voice. Eren’s hand shifted to her back, rubbing soothing circles against her trembling form, his expression softening only for her. "She’s not a threat," Eren said quietly, his voice firm but laced with an edge of protectiveness. "She’s with me. That’s all you need to know."
"Not a threat?" Levi’s voice rose slightly, his frustration clear. "Eren, we just went through hell in Liberio, and now you’re telling me you brought a Marleyan civilian—a woman—on board, claiming she’s your wife, and we’re supposed to just accept that without an explanation?"
Aurora’s heart raced as she felt the hostility in the room rising. She pressed herself closer to Eren, her hands trembling as she gripped his shirt tighter. She had never seen Eren's friends before—these were the people who had fought alongside him, who knew the part of Eren she had only begun to understand. She had always known Eren as the man who loved her, who held her close and spoke softly to her. But here, surrounded by these hardened soldiers, she saw the part of Eren that terrified her—the ruthless warrior, the devil of Paradis.
Mikasa’s voice finally broke through, soft but filled with pain. "Why didn’t you tell us, Eren?" Her words were fragile, like shattered glass. "Why did you hide this from us?"
Eren didn’t look at her. He kept his gaze on Levi, his voice unyielding. "Because it wasn’t your business. I don’t owe any of you an explanation."
Aurora could feel the tension rolling off Eren in waves, and her heart ached for him. She knew how much he had been through, how much he had suffered. And now, seeing him face off against the people who had stood by his side for so long, she felt a deep sadness settle in her chest. She wanted to say something, to defend him, but the words wouldn’t come. Her throat felt tight, her mind a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty.
Levi stepped closer, his eyes narrowing, his posture radiating authority. "You forced our hand, Eren. We followed you into Marley because we didn’t have a choice. You put all of us at risk. And now you’re bringing a civilian into this mess? You better have a damn good reason."
Eren’s gaze was like steel, unwavering. "I brought her because she’s mine," he said, his voice low, almost possessive. "And I’m not leaving her behind."
Aurora’s cheeks flushed at his words, a mixture of fear and affection swelling inside her. She leaned into him more, her heart pounding. She didn’t understand everything that was happening, but one thing was clear—Eren was her anchor in this storm, and she would follow him no matter where it led.
Levi’s jaw clenched, but before he could respond, Mikasa’s soft voice cut through the tension once more. "Eren…" Her eyes were filled with a desperate need for answers, for understanding. "How long has this been going on? How long have you kept this from us?"
For the first time, Eren’s expression faltered, a flicker of something passing through his eyes. His voice, however, remained steady. "Since before the raid," he admitted quietly. "I met Aurora while I was undercover. We…" His gaze softened as he glanced down at Aurora, her eyes meeting his briefly before she shyly averted them. "We got married before the attack."
The shock in the room was palpable. Jean cursed under his breath, and Connie’s eyes were wide with disbelief. Sasha, who had been silent this whole time, looked between Eren and Aurora with a mixture of confusion and concern.
Mikasa’s face went pale. Her hands trembled at her sides, and she swallowed hard, the pain in her chest almost unbearable. She had always been at Eren’s side. Always. And now, here was this woman—this stranger—who had somehow taken that place without her even knowing. The realization was like a knife twisting in her heart.
Levi’s eyes flicked to Aurora, who was still curled up in Eren’s arms, her small frame barely visible against his larger form. "And you trust her?" he asked, his voice cold. "You trust her enough to risk everything?"
"I trust her with my life," Eren replied without hesitation. "And that’s all that matters."
The cabin fell into an uneasy silence, the weight of Eren’s words hanging over them like a storm cloud. Aurora, feeling the weight of so many eyes on her, squeezed her eyes shut and pressed her face further into Eren’s chest. She had never wanted to be part of this world of violence and war, but now, she was bound to it—bound to Eren, the man she had chosen above all else.
In the quiet, Levi’s gaze lingered on Eren for a long moment before he finally spoke again, his voice low and resigned. "We’ll deal with this when we get back to Paradis."
Aurora felt Eren’s hand tighten protectively around her as he gave a curt nod. The war wasn’t over yet, but she knew, as long as Eren was by her side, she would face whatever came next—no matter the cost.
But not everyone was satisfied with Eren’s reply.
Jean stood up abruptly, his fists clenched as his eyes burned with frustration. His voice cut through the air like a blade.
“What the hell is this supposed to be?” Jean’s glare was fixed on Eren, his words dripping with disbelief and anger. “We nearly died back there, all because of your insane plan to get the War Hammer Titan's power—and now you show up with her? Claiming she’s your wife?!”
Eren remained silent, his expression as unreadable as ever, but the air around him seemed to shift, a palpable tension growing in the space between them. Aurora flinched at the harshness of Jean’s voice, her hands instinctively tightening around Eren’s shirt as she tried to make herself smaller.
Jean wasn’t finished. He took a step closer, his rage boiling over. “While we were out there risking our lives—worried sick about where you’d been—you were off playing house with her?” He gestured sharply toward Aurora, his words laced with bitterness. “We haven’t heard a damn thing from you since you ran off from that forum held by the Subjects of Ymir Protection Group. And then you make yourself a hostage in Liberio, force the scouts to come after you—because without you, there’s no future for Paradis. You forced our hand!”
Aurora felt her heart pounding in her chest, the hostility in the air almost suffocating. Jean’s piercing gaze turned toward her, and for the first time, she felt the full weight of the scouts' anger, their confusion and disbelief. Jean’s eyes bore into her, and she took an involuntary step back, her grip on Eren tightening.
Jean’s voice lowered, dangerously close. “Who even are you? What gives you the right to—”
Before Jean could finish, Eren moved. In an instant, he stood up, the sharp sound of his boots hitting the metal floor cutting through the tension. His hand shot out, pushing Aurora protectively behind him, his body shielding her from Jean’s advancing form. The movement was quick, precise, and filled with an intensity that made everyone in the airship freeze.
Eren's green eyes, usually cold and distant, were now burning with a fierce, unrelenting fire. He stared Jean down, his expression dark, his jaw tight. The air seemed to hum with danger as he spoke, his voice low and filled with barely contained anger.
“If you want to be mad at me, Jean—fine. But don’t think for a second I’ll let you or anyone try to intimidate my wife.”
Jean’s eyes widened slightly, taken aback by the sheer force of Eren’s words, but his anger didn’t waver. He stepped forward again, refusing to back down, his hands trembling with rage. “Your wife? Eren, we nearly died out there because of you! We lost comrades, people we cared about, and you’re telling me that while we were out there fighting, you were getting married?!”
Eren’s body tensed, his hands flexing at his sides as if ready for a fight. “I did what had to be done,” he said through gritted teeth. “And I’ll keep doing it. I don’t owe you an explanation.”
Jean’s frustration erupted, his voice growing louder. “That’s bullshit, Eren! We followed you—because we believed in you! We thought you had a plan, that we were doing this for the future of all of us. But now it feels like this is just for you! For whatever the hell you think is right!” He gestured sharply toward Aurora again, his voice filled with disbelief. “And now you bring her into this mess? What’s next, Eren? Huh? You think we’re just going to follow you blindly while you drag us into whatever twisted game you’re playing?”
Aurora’s breath hitched as Jean’s harsh words cut through the air. She could feel the tension rising, the raw emotion in the room building like a storm about to break. Her eyes flicked to Eren, who stood rigid in front of her, his broad back shielding her from Jean’s gaze. She could feel the heat radiating off him, the barely controlled fury simmering beneath the surface.
Eren took a step forward, his eyes locked on Jean. His voice, when he spoke again, was dangerously calm. “I didn’t drag you into anything, Jean. You made your choice to follow me. If you have a problem with that, take it up with me. But leave her out of it.”
Jean’s lips curled into a snarl, his fists trembling at his sides. “You think we’re just going to stand here and accept this? After everything we’ve been through? After everything you’ve done?”
Eren’s gaze darkened, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “You don’t have to accept it. But you’re not going to touch her.”
The air in the cabin was suffocating, the tension thick and oppressive. Mikasa, who had been standing silently in the background, finally stepped forward, her expression a mix of hurt and confusion. “Eren… we deserve answers. You owe us that much.”
Eren’s eyes flicked to Mikasa for the briefest moment, but the hardened expression on his face didn’t soften. His attention returned to Jean, his stance unyielding. “You’ll get your answers when the time comes,” he said coldly. “But right now, we’re going back to Paradis. That’s all that matters.”
Jean looked like he wanted to say more, his anger still burning brightly, but Connie stepped forward and placed a hand on Jean’s shoulder, a silent plea for him to back down. Jean hesitated, his eyes flicking between Eren and Aurora, before he finally let out a frustrated growl and turned away, storming to the other side of the cabin.
The tension in the room remained, thick and heavy, but no one dared speak again. Eren stood protectively in front of Aurora, his body still tense, his gaze never leaving Jean’s retreating form.
Aurora, who had been silent the entire time, finally looked up at Eren, her heart still racing from the confrontation. She reached out, her hand trembling slightly, and placed it gently on his arm. “Eren…” she whispered softly, her voice filled with concern.
Eren’s posture softened ever so slightly at her touch. He turned to her, his expression still hard, but his eyes softened when they met hers. Without a word, he took her hand in his, holding it tightly as if grounding himself in her presence.
The airship continued its journey back to Paradis, the weight of the unspoken words and unresolved tensions hanging heavy in the air. But in that moment, Aurora knew one thing for certain—no matter what came next, Eren would protect her, even if it meant standing against the people he had once called his friends.
Levi’s sharp eyes didn’t miss a single detail of what had just happened. From the moment Jean stepped too close to Aurora, to the instant Eren’s entire demeanor shifted—protective, fierce, almost primal. It wasn’t something Levi had seen in Eren before, at least not like this. He’d seen Eren angry, desperate, and vengeful, but this was different. This wasn’t about Eren’s usual righteous fury or his deep-seated thirst for freedom.
No, this was something else entirely.
Eren's intense reaction toward Jean told Levi more than words ever could. This woman—Aurora—wasn’t just another chess piece on Eren's board. Eren had a habit of manipulating people, using them to further his own goals. But the way Eren shielded Aurora, the possessiveness in his stance, the way he pushed her behind him with such certainty, it was clear that she wasn’t just some pawn.
Levi’s eyes narrowed, his mind working quickly through the implications. Eren genuinely cared about her. He could tell by the tension in Eren’s shoulders, the way his body seemed to coil protectively around Aurora like a steel trap ready to snap shut at any moment. It wasn’t just protection. Eren was acting as if the world might collapse around them, and he would still be there to defend her. That kind of reaction only came from something deeper.
Love.
Levi’s lips thinned slightly. In love? Since when? Eren had left them all behind seven months ago, disappearing from the summit of the Subjects of Ymir Protection Group without a word. Since then, he’d been in Marley, undercover and unreachable. No one knew where Eren had gone or what he had been doing during those months. But now, seeing this strange, innocent-looking girl clinging to him as if he were her lifeline…Levi couldn’t help but wonder.
How the hell did they fall in love? It was almost impossible to comprehend. Eren had always been focused—obsessed, really—with the future of Paradis, with freeing their people. Love had never factored into the equation before. He wasn’t the kind of person to be distracted by such things. Yet here he was, practically snarling at Jean for even daring to get too close to her.
Levi’s eyes flicked to Aurora. She looked fragile, almost too soft for someone who had just witnessed the absolute carnage in Liberio. Her delicate hands clutched Eren’s shirt, her body trembling slightly from the confrontation, and yet she stayed with him. She had seen Eren at his worst—unleashing pure, merciless brutality on the people of Marley, transforming into the Attack Titan and slaughtering everyone in his path. And yet, she stood here, still holding onto him.
Levi couldn’t help but wonder… What kind of woman is she?
It was one thing to stand by a soldier. It was another to stand by a man who had just transformed into a literal monster, tearing down buildings and crushing his enemies without a second thought. Eren had used the Jaw Titan like a tool, cracking open the War Hammer Titan’s crystal in the most savage way possible, all to gain its power. It was horrifying, the level of violence, the coldness in Eren’s eyes as he carried out his plan. And Aurora had watched it all.
How much did she really know about Eren? Did she understand that Eren was a man consumed by a greater purpose, willing to destroy anything in his path?
Levi’s eyes never left Eren. He needed to know. He needed to understand what was really going on here.
Levi finally broke the silence, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. “Eren.”
Eren glanced at him, his expression still hard, but Levi didn’t miss the way his hand stayed wrapped protectively around Aurora’s. “What is this?” Levi’s voice was calm, but there was an edge to it. “You went off the grid for months, forced us into this mission, and now you show up with… her?”
Eren didn’t answer immediately, his jaw tightening as he seemed to weigh his words. “She’s my wife, Levi. I told you that.”
Levi’s eyes narrowed. “Yeah, you mentioned that. What I want to know is why. Why now? How did this happen? You’ve been gone for seven months. We didn’t hear a word from you, and now suddenly, you’ve got a wife?” His gaze shifted briefly to Aurora, then back to Eren. “What kind of woman marries someone like you after what you just did in Liberio?”
Aurora flinched at the harshness in Levi’s voice, but Eren remained calm, his voice low and steady. “She knows who I am. She knows everything.”
Levi’s brow furrowed slightly. “Does she? Does she really know the full extent of what you’ve become, Eren? The lengths you’ll go to?”
Eren’s gaze was unwavering, his tone firm. “She does.”
Aurora’s voice, soft and hesitant, broke through the conversation for the first time. “I know… I know who Eren is,” she said quietly, her eyes flicking nervously between Levi and Eren. “I know what he’s done… but I also know why he’s doing it.”
Levi’s eyes shifted to Aurora, his sharp gaze assessing her. There was something about the way she spoke, the tremble in her voice that indicated fear, but not fear of Eren. It was fear of the situation, fear of the unknown. Yet, despite that, she was still standing by his side.
“How much do you really know?” Levi pressed, his voice cold and calculating.
Aurora swallowed, glancing up at Eren for reassurance before answering. “I know he’s fighting for Paradis. I know he’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect his people… to protect me.”
Levi’s jaw clenched slightly at her words. Protect her? That wasn’t the Eren he knew. Eren had always been focused on the bigger picture, on freeing their people from the shackles of oppression. But this… this was different. This was personal.
Eren’s voice, quiet but filled with conviction, broke through Levi’s thoughts. “She’s with me, Captain. That’s all you need to understand. I’ll protect her, no matter what.”
Levi studied Eren’s face for a long moment, searching for any cracks in his resolve. But there were none. Eren was deadly serious, and that was what unsettled Levi the most. This wasn’t a boy anymore. This was a man who had seen the world for what it truly was—ugly, brutal, and unforgiving. And yet, in the midst of all that darkness, he had found something worth protecting.
Levi’s eyes flicked back to Aurora. He still didn’t trust her, not fully. But if Eren was willing to go this far for her, there had to be more to the story than they were seeing.
“I hope you know what you’re doing, Eren,” Levi said quietly, his voice laced with a hint of warning. “Because if she’s with you, then she’s in this for the long haul. And there’s no turning back now.”
Eren’s gaze was steady, his grip on Aurora never loosening. “I know.”
Levi gave a small nod, his expression unreadable, before turning his attention back to the rest of the room. The tension still hung thick in the air, but for now, it seemed, the matter was settled.
Aurora pressed closer to Eren, feeling the weight of everything that had just happened. She knew the road ahead would be difficult—filled with danger, uncertainty, and pain. But as long as she was with Eren, she would face whatever came next.
And Eren, with his fierce determination and unwavering resolve, would do the same.
But in the corner of the airship…something else was unraveling.
Mikasa stood in the corner of the airship, her entire body trembling as the weight of everything crashed down on her like an avalanche. Her heart felt like it had been ripped out of her chest, shredded by the scene unfolding before her. The woman—Aurora—was nestled against Eren, her hands clinging to him as if he were her entire world. Eren sat there, calm, protective, and completely unfazed by the chaos surrounding him.
Wife.
That single word echoed in Mikasa’s mind, over and over, like a hammer pounding against her skull. It didn’t make sense. None of it made sense.
Months. Months. Eren had disappeared without a trace. No word, no clue as to whether he was alive or dead. Every day, every night, Mikasa had been consumed by the gnawing worry that something terrible had happened to him. She had barely slept, barely eaten, her mind constantly replaying worst-case scenarios. Was he hurt? Was he captured? Was he... gone?
And then, out of nowhere, they received his letters. Eren’s cold, calculated plan to raid Liberio, dragging them all into a nightmare. She had followed him, like she always did, because what else could she do? Eren was everything to her. Everything. He was the reason she fought, the reason she survived. Even when he pushed her away, even when he said those horrible things to her—things that had shattered her soul—she couldn’t stop caring about him.
But now?
Now Eren was sitting there, with this woman beside him. This stranger. His wife.
Mikasa felt like she was going to throw up. Her stomach churned violently, and her hands clenched so tightly into fists that her knuckles turned white. She felt like the ground beneath her was crumbling, like her entire world had just collapsed in on itself.
How? How had this happened? When had this happened? They had been worried sick about Eren, risking everything to save him, and he had been—what? Falling in love? Getting married?
Her chest tightened, the air around her suddenly feeling suffocating. She tried to breathe, but it felt like all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from Eren and Aurora, the sight of them together making her vision blur with unshed tears.
“Mikasa…” Armin’s soft voice broke through her spiraling thoughts, and she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Breathe. Just… breathe.”
Mikasa blinked, her wide, hollow eyes turning to Armin, who was looking at her with a mixture of concern and disbelief. He was doing his best to console her, but even he couldn’t hide his shock at the situation. His face was pale, his lips pressed into a thin line as he tried to process everything that had just happened.
Armin's gaze flickered toward Eren and Aurora, his brow furrowed in confusion. “I… I don’t understand it either,” he admitted, his voice shaky. “I don’t know what Eren was thinking. But we’ll get answers. We’ll figure it out. Just—try to stay calm.”
But Mikasa couldn’t calm down. How could she? Eren—the boy she had loved her entire life, the boy who had been her reason for fighting, her reason for living—had just declared that he was married. To someone else.
Her breath hitched, and she turned away, unable to look at them anymore. Her vision swam, and her heart pounded so loudly in her ears that it drowned out everything else.
How long had Eren been with this woman? How long had he known her? They hadn’t heard from him in months, and in that time, he had somehow fallen in love, gotten married, and kept it all a secret.
Why hadn’t he told them?
The thought stabbed at her like a knife. Why hadn’t he told her? Mikasa had always been by Eren’s side, no matter what. She had protected him, fought for him, even when he didn’t ask for it. She had always been there. And yet… Eren had never looked at her the way he was looking at Aurora now.
Mikasa felt her heart break all over again.
Armin’s voice was soft, but it carried a weight of understanding. “Mikasa… I know this is hard, but we need to stay focused. We don’t know what’s going on with Eren right now. But we’ll find out. We’ll talk to him.”
Mikasa nodded numbly, but she couldn’t shake the feeling of betrayal, the overwhelming sense of loss that was consuming her. Eren had always been distant, but this… this was something else. He had built a wall between them, and now, standing on the other side of that wall was Aurora.
Armin gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, his own expression still clouded with confusion. “He’s still our friend, Mikasa. We’ll figure this out. Don’t lose hope.”
But the truth was, Mikasa had lost hope. Because no matter how much she tried to deny it, the sight of Eren sitting there with Aurora, holding her close, protecting her with such intensity… It was clear.
Eren had already moved on.
And Mikasa didn’t know if she could ever recover from that.
Aurora’s heart ached as her ice-blue eyes drifted toward the corner of the airship, where Mikasa stood, pale and trembling, her face etched with a mixture of devastation and disbelief. The emotions were raw, painfully clear, and Aurora could see the subtle tremor in Mikasa’s hands as she tried to hold herself together. Armin stood next to her, speaking softly, though his expression mirrored the confusion and shock that had gripped the entire airship.
Aurora’s fingers unconsciously tightened around Eren’s arm, but her thoughts wandered to the stories he had told her about Mikasa and Armin—the two people who had been by his side for most of his life. He had spoken of them with a strange fondness, though his tone had grown colder over time. He had told her how, after she disappeared all those years ago, he hadn’t had any friends. She had been his first companion, his first confidant.
But then came Armin, the soft-spoken boy who shared Eren’s dreams of the world beyond the walls. And then, not long after that, there was Mikasa, the girl Eren had saved from a horrific fate.
Aurora remembered the way Eren’s voice had darkened when he spoke of that day, of the rage he felt when he discovered that Mikasa had been kidnapped by human traffickers. He had been just a boy, barely nine years old, and yet he had killed two men with his own hands to protect her. Eren had described how Mikasa had been frozen in fear, unable to defend herself, until he told her to fight. His words had given her the strength to kill the third man and save herself. It was a memory that had clearly stayed with Eren, and it had defined his relationship with Mikasa ever since.
But as Aurora looked at Mikasa now, the pain radiating from her in waves, Aurora couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. Was this woman in love with Eren? From what Aurora could see, Mikasa’s feelings went far beyond friendship. Her reaction wasn’t that of someone seeing a friend in a new relationship—it was far more personal, more intimate.
Mikasa’s eyes weren’t just filled with confusion and shock. They were filled with betrayal.
Aurora’s chest tightened as she realized what she was seeing. Mikasa wasn’t acting like someone who saw Eren as a brother or a childhood friend. She was acting like she had lost something, something precious and irreplaceable. Like she had lost Eren himself.
Aurora swallowed hard, her eyes flicking between Mikasa and Eren. She had known, deep down, that the bond between Eren and his friends ran deep. But she hadn’t expected this. She hadn’t expected Mikasa to look at Eren as if she were about to break into pieces right in front of them.
“Eren…” Aurora’s voice was soft, hesitant. She wasn’t sure if she should even bring it up, but the weight of Mikasa’s reaction gnawed at her. She leaned in closer to him, her voice low enough so only he could hear. “Is that… Mikasa?”
Eren’s eyes flickered to the corner of the airship, landing on Mikasa for a brief second before turning away. His expression remained as cold and distant as ever, but Aurora could see a flicker of something—regret, perhaps—cross his face. “Yeah. That’s her.”
Aurora hesitated, her mind racing. “She looks… devastated,” she murmured, feeling an uneasy knot twist in her stomach. “Does she… care about you more than just as a friend?”
Eren didn’t answer right away. He sighed quietly, his gaze fixed on the floor. “She’s always cared about me,” he said, his voice low, almost tired. “But it’s not like that. Not for me.”
Aurora’s heart sank as she listened to his words. It wasn’t a full answer, and she wasn’t sure if Eren even understood the depth of Mikasa’s feelings. But Aurora could see it clearly now—Mikasa loved Eren. Not just as a childhood friend or a protector, but as something much more. It was in the way Mikasa was staring at him, her wide, hollow eyes filled with unspoken pain.
And here Aurora was, Eren’s wife, sitting next to him as he held her protectively in front of the people who had followed him into hell and back. Mikasa’s devastation made sense now, and it filled Aurora with a strange guilt she hadn’t anticipated. Mikasa must have thought she would always be at Eren’s side, protecting him, fighting for him. And now, she had to witness someone else—the woman Eren had chosen to marry—take that place.
Aurora’s hand gently rested on Eren’s arm, her voice even quieter now, almost a whisper. “Eren… does she know about us? About me?”
Eren’s jaw tightened again, his green eyes hardening once more. “She does now.”
The coldness in his tone made Aurora flinch slightly, but she didn’t press further. She knew Eren well enough to understand that when he spoke like this, when he shut himself off emotionally, there was no getting through to him. But the reality of the situation weighed heavily on her. Mikasa’s feelings for Eren were painfully obvious now, and Aurora didn’t know what that would mean for the future—for them.
She didn’t want to be the source of anyone’s heartbreak, least of all Mikasa’s. But what could she do? She loved Eren. She had chosen him, despite everything, and he had chosen her. They were bound together now, by vows spoken beneath the stars and promises made in the darkest of times.
But in doing so, Aurora realized, they had left others behind. And the fallout was only just beginning.
Aurora’s eyes lingered on Mikasa for a moment longer before she looked away, leaning into Eren’s side, seeking comfort in his presence. She had made her choice, and no matter what, she would stand by him. But as the tension in the airship thickened, and the pain in Mikasa’s eyes grew more evident, Aurora couldn’t help but wonder if their love had come at too high a cost.
Because it was clear to her now—Mikasa didn’t just see Eren as a friend. She had been acting like she had lost her lover.
Eren sat still, his body tense as the airship hummed with the strained silence that had settled over everyone. His eyes shifted toward Mikasa in the corner, her face pale and her expression shattered. The sight tugged at something deep inside him, something that had once been a constant between them. He could see how distraught she was, her shoulders trembling with the weight of her emotions, and it wasn’t hard to understand why.
But Eren had made his choice.
And his choice was Aurora.
He felt her presence beside him, her small hand still clinging to his jacket as if he were her anchor. He gently squeezed her hand, reassuring her without words. It wasn’t that he didn’t care about Mikasa—how could he not, after everything they had been through? But things had changed. He had changed. And Aurora was the one thing in this cruel world that had reawakened a part of him he thought had been buried long ago.
Eren’s thoughts drifted back to the day he thought he’d lost her forever. He was only a child back then, but the impact of Aurora’s disappearance had been profound. One day, she was there in Shiganshina—his first friend, his first crush—and then suddenly, she was gone. No explanations. No goodbyes. Just gone.
His parents didn’t know what had happened. The neighbors had no answers. It was as if Aurora and her family had vanished into thin air, leaving behind nothing but a hollow ache in Eren’s chest. He had searched for her, in the way a child would, hoping he would run into her on the streets of Shiganshina or catch a glimpse of her familiar figure at the market. But days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. And eventually, even his hope began to fade.
But he never forgot her.
Aurora had been his only friend back then. He had no one else, and her sudden disappearance had left a void in his life. He never told Armin or Mikasa about her. Not because he didn’t trust them, but because Aurora’s memory felt too personal, too sacred. He held onto it tightly, as if speaking her name aloud would somehow make the memory slip away.
Throughout the years, he thought about her often, wondering where she had gone. What had happened to her?  Was she safe? Was she happy? Was she even alive? He imagined what she would look like now. Would they still be friends? Or… something more?
It was a thought that had haunted him, especially on the lonelier nights, when the weight of his burdens pressed down on him. Aurora had been the first light in his life, the first person who had made him feel seen. And then she was gone.
And then, as if fate had a cruel sense of humor, he saw her again. In Marley of all places.
Eren had been deep undercover, the rage and determination fueling him as he prepared for the attack on Liberio. His mind had been focused on the mission, on the destruction he was about to unleash, when he heard the faint sound of someone singing. A voice that, though older, still carried the same softness he remembered. It had stopped him in his tracks.
He thought he was hallucinating at first, that the exhaustion and stress of his mission had finally gotten to him. But when he followed the sound, he saw her. Sitting beneath a tree, her platinum-blonde hair glowing in the fading light, her voice carrying softly through the air.
He had thought he was seeing a ghost.
His heart had nearly stopped in his chest, his body frozen as he stared at her. But he recognized her immediately. He’d know those eyes anywhere. The same icy-blue eyes that had once looked at him with such warmth, such kindness.
Aurora.
She hadn’t changed, not really. She was older, yes, her features more refined, more delicate. But she was still her. And in that moment, the years fell away, and Eren was once again that little boy, desperate to reach out to her, to make sure she was real.
It took everything in him not to break down right then and there. He had spent so many years thinking she was gone—dead, even. The fact that she was alive, right in front of him, nearly brought him to tears.
Aurora had been afraid at first, not recognizing him immediately. But when their eyes met, and she saw the boy she had once known in the man standing before her, something shifted. It was like the world had stopped turning for a brief moment, and they were just two people, reconnecting after years of separation.
It had all come flooding back then—the memories, the feelings he had buried, the quiet hope that had stayed with him through all the pain. Eren had thought he’d lost her forever. But now she was here, with him, and he wasn’t going to let her go.
He glanced down at Aurora, who still leaned against him, her soft presence grounding him in a way nothing else could. He had chosen her. He had chosen to protect her, to keep her by his side, no matter what came next.
Eren’s gaze shifted back to Mikasa, who was still staring at him with those broken eyes, and he felt a pang of guilt twist in his chest. He knew what she was feeling—he could see it written all over her face. But he couldn’t undo what had already been done.
He had made his choice.
Aurora was his, and no one—not even Mikasa—could change that.
His voice, low and steady, cut through the tension in the airship. “Mikasa.”
Mikasa blinked, as if pulled from a trance. Her wide eyes met his, and for a moment, she looked like she was about to say something—anything. But the words never came.
Eren’s expression remained calm, though there was a faint sadness behind his eyes. “I’m sorry,” he said quietly, though he wasn’t sure if he was apologizing for what had happened, or for something much deeper. Something he couldn’t give her.
Mikasa’s lips trembled, and Armin’s hand on her shoulder tightened, as if trying to steady her. But Eren could see the devastation in her eyes, the realization that no matter what she had hoped for, no matter what she had believed… he had chosen someone else.
Eren didn’t look away. He couldn’t. Because in that moment, he had to make sure she understood.
“I made my choice,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “And it’s Aurora.”
The silence that followed was deafening, and Eren could feel the weight of it pressing down on all of them. But he didn’t regret his decision.
He never would.

For some reason I keep imagining Eren having bad gas but only Mikasa noticing him acting weirdly suspicious, nervous and quiet, and for some reason the two have to be hidden in an enclosed space together quietly, when she realizes why he's so embarrassed and nervous. He struggling to hold it in, as his rectum groans with the sheer pressure of all that gas. Mikasa can hear him grunt, whimper, and swear under his breath, as quietly as he can, all the while odd, guttural gurgles appear to be coming from his lower stomach. Maybe eventually he loses control, and to keep their hiding place hidden, Mikasa has to place her hands on Eren's rear to muffle the sounds, feeling that hot air blow against her palms, dirtying his pants and the air with the stench, as his face is bright red, long dark hair covering part of it.
I’m sorry this is so fucking hot im losing my mind.
Eren had changed. His emotions and thoughts, once so accessible to her, remain locked up now, and the gap only grows as Eren gets older, his face maturing, his hair growing longer, to his jaw. But, despite this, Mikasa can still tell he’s acting weird today. It all started with that seafood dish that Niccolo prepared for them. Sasha had, of course, gorged herself. Eren had eaten a bit slower, but he still had two plates of buttered lobster, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. After he finished the meal, Mikasa saw him grimace, patting his stomach and stifling a burp.
After, they had an important military meeting to attend, so the Survey Corp made themselves presentable in their green uniforms and endured the tedium of old men arguing over politics. Mikasa sat straight-backed. Eren slouches. Suddenly, a low watery gurgle like a clogged pipe sounds from Eren’s stomach. Mikasa looks over. He’s staring straight ahead, but there’s a worried little pout creasing his face, his ears are red, and a hand is on his belly. Mikasa blinked. Was he still hungry? Then, Eren catches her eye and looks away, his cheeks reddening. It didn’t sound like a hunger pang; it sounded like the noise Mikasa’s bowels make right before she...
Oh. He needs to…
Trying not to be too conspicuous, she glances at Eren again. He’s tapping his foot. Sweat beads at his forehead. Low rumbles like distant thunder coming from his tortured gas-filled bowels. A cute blush stains his face. She tries to give him privacy by paying attention to the military meeting. Something other than Eren’s plight catches her attention; one of the higher ups is mentioning a report on all the soldiers in the Survey Corp. This report would determine the Survey Corps future budget.
An hour later and Mikasa’s quietly testing the door knob to the higher up’s office.
“What are you doing?” Eren asks in a hushhed voice behind her.
“I’m reading the report,” Mikasa says, swinging the door open. She enters the sparsely decorated office. Eren follows her, a bit stiffly, more of a waddle than a walk.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Eren says.
“We need to know what we need to improve on,” Mikasa says.
Eren suddenly winces, his stomach moaning, chock full of pent-up farts, struck with a terrible case of the bubble guts.
Mikasa’s attentive ears catch a noise; steps outside the door. Quickly, she moves, grabbing Eren by the shirt and shoving him into the closet. She shuts the door behind them, locking them in darkness. Through the crack in the closet door, she watches Levi enter. His senses are just as sharp as hers and he looks around suspiciously. She’s flush with Eren, her chest pressed to his, his leg between her thighs, their arms not knowing where to go or what to do. Eren is not doing so well. One hand is doing furious circles on his churning lower stomach, gas moving from his intestines and inflating his rectum, only stoppered by his taut little hole.
Fuck, Eren says almost silently, fuck, fuck, fuck. His face is bright red with embarrassment and frustration at the prospect of holding it in another second, containing his gas for just a little bit more. He whimpers, squirming, his poor stomach groaning, so insanely upset from that seafood. Mikasa suspects that he had never had been this gassy in his entire life.
“Hold it in, Eren,” she whispers. She puts a hand on his bloated belly, feeling the gas swirl inside, the boy holding off on ripping ass only with pure willpower (and seriously clenched buttcheeks, quivering with strain). Eren does something surprising. He grunts, a small “eh” that makes him sound like a wounded animal. He’s shaking now, full-bodied, as he begins to lose control. Urgent hot farts are building at his exit, and Mikasa knows he doesn’t have much longer till he blows.
She peers through the crack. Levi is heading out, casting one last look behind him before he left. She hears his footsteps in the hallway. Eren groans, sounding close to tears. It’s strange to see him this way. This… vulnerability had been hidden from her for so long. It makes her love him even more. And right now he’s suffering, gas cramps killing him, stomach bloating, farts trapped indefinitely. She would have to release him from his punishment.
“He’s gone,” Mikasa says and with those two words, Eren explodes.
BRRRPLPRRRPPLLLRRPPTTT!
Eren’s ass sings, a huge rumbling fart that quakes the wall of the closet, Eren going nearly crossed eyed with relief, his mouth hanging open, a brilliant blush splashed across his face, finally ripping major ass after holding it in all day. The smell is oppressive and putrid, festering in his gut since lunch. Mikasa puts her hand over her nose and Eren squeezes his eyes shut as if he can’t take the embarrassment, whimpering as another gas bubble makes its way to his exit, a guttural gurgle coming from his bowels.
PLLLRRRRPPPPPP! PRRT! BRLPPP! BRP!
“Ohhhh,” Eren sighs as beefy machine gun fire farts blast out of him, snapping flatly against the wooden. Mikasa can’t believe his perky ass is making these rude noises. Eren grunts again and farts for the third time.
PSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH…
A quiet but deadly eases out past his asscheeks, warming his white trousers and immediately choking Mikasa with its rotten stench. She coughs and Eren mumbles an apology. She opens the closet door, stumbling out.
PRRT-PLRMP-BRAP-POOOT
Farts pop out of Eren with every step. He keeps saying how sorry he is, and Mikasa stops him with a hug.
BLRP!
Forcing another gassy expulsion out by pressing on his belly, but Eren hugs her back.
“Don’t be sorry. It’s natural,” Mikasa says.
“It’s still embarrassing,” Eren says, still tomato red.
“At least Jean wasn’t here,” Mikasa says. “You would never live it down.”
Eren smiles weakly. They leave the room, Eren finally relieved of lunch’s revenge.

A Death Too Soon pt.2
pt.1 levi ackerman x gn!reader, they/them pronouns, a lil comfort to fix that hurt from pt.1 it only took me 3 months to make a pt.2
Tumblr media
It had taken all of Levi’s energy to take down the Beast Titan and yet he couldn’t finish him off. He was whisked away by some Titan on all fours. He was tempted to go after it, but when he scanned the many bodies that littered the ground, he couldn’t seem to find yours. He took that as a sign that maybe, by some miracle, you were alive. He was torn between fulfilling his promise and saving the person he treasured most. But it was Erwin’s fault you were out there, it was his force that dragged you into that death march. Loyalties be damned, he rushed onto the field. It was a sorry sight; the mangled bodies of the young cadets weren’t the most pleasant sight, not by a long shot, but he was preserved. He stepped over corpses, limbs, and whatever was left of the Scouts he once knew. Not a single sign of you. The stench of death filled the air, sending chills down his spine. He wondered what became of the Beast Titan and it’s assistant once they escaped over the wall. He wondered if they were taken down by another Scout, or better yet Eren. As Levi was about to give up hope, he noticed a body far in the corner. It was all too familiar. The same hair, the same frame. It was you. He rushed over, his legs burning as he ran. He collapsed at your side and immediately went for a pulse. He pressed his fingers against the cold skin on your neck and there it was, his sign of life. He let out a deep sigh of relief, pressing his head against your back. Clearly, you weren’t in the worse shape. He lifted your body up and wrapped your arms around him. Despite his exhaustion and throbbing muscles, he managed to carry you towards the wall. He examined your wounds as he went, trying to get a feel for how bad they were. Blood stained all down your white shirt, but most of the rest of your body seemed to be intact. Levi was determined to make sure you survived. It was a struggle, but he made it over the wall with your body. He clung onto you as he landed on top of it. He stared out at the city that had been completely decimated. On a roof below them was a sobbing Eren who was bent over an unrecognizable corpse. Levi approached the boy, still holding you tightly in his arms, “Eren, what’s going on?” He asked. “I-It’s Armin!” How Eren could tell was beyond him. The body was completely charred and not a single feature remained. “Levi, you have to use the serum on him to bring him back! He can eat Bertholdt!” He pointed to the limbless body next to them where an unconscious Bertholdt sat. Levi sighed. He didn’t have time for this, he needed to make sure you were okay, “Fine. Take them to the top of the wall for medical treatment. I’ll take care of Armin.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What should have taken him a minute at most turned into a loud and heated argument over whether or not he chose Erwin or Armin. His gut told him Erwin, but the Commander had other plans, giving up his life subconsciously to allow Armin to live. So Levi now sat atop the wall next to your unconscious body while he waited for you to wake up. His hand rested on yours, his thumb tracing shapes into your palm. Mostly everyone was keeping to themselves, tending to their wounds, and mourning the heavy losses they had suffered. The outskirts of Shiganshina was now nothing more than a graveyard for the fallen. First, your mind awoke. You were thinking, thinking how badly you wanted to live, how badly you wanted to see Levi one last time. Then your body moved. It was the slightest movement, but it was enough to trigger the same response everywhere. Your fingers wiggled, your eyes fluttered open. You hissed when the light entered your view. It was so damn bright. Levi took notice of the noise, bending his neck to stare at you, “You’re alive?” His eyes were wide with shock. It took you a moment to clear your head, to fully be able to process what was happened. You shrugged, as you were entirely unsure what was happening. There was the faintest smile on Levi’s lips, “I’m glad you’re okay.” You couldn’t seem to speak, but you noticed his hand on yours, so you gave him a gentle squeeze in response. Levi’s face flushed pink and he instinctively turned away. You smiled slightly, staring at the sky above you. It was so beautiful and clear. You let out a deep breath, just holding onto Levi’s hand. Levi also seemed content with his hand in yours. The skin to skin contact gave him comfort, confirmation you were okay and you were here. With him.
Until The End (Levi x Reader)- Chapter 16
[Rescue Mission]
Tumblr media
_____ A/N: Posted on Wattpad (@CLARE_875) but also decided to post here :)
Summary:
"You can push me away, but I will still fight by you, and I will still follow you… until the end."
The ever-so-stoic Levi Ackerman has only ever known the terrors that living in a cruel world could bring. This all changed one fateful day when he encountered [y/n]; a girl renowned for her looks and abnormal speed. As they escape the confines of the Underground together, they soon discover that freedom doesn't come easy in a world full of Titans. As they rise through the ranks, [y/n] becomes known as "Humanity's Angel", a beacon of hope to humanity as she melts the walls Levi had built around his heart. However, she has her secrets too, and a dark past that might just threaten to pull them apart.
The storyline and characters of Attack on Titan do NOT belong to me, but all to Hajime Isayama; however, I do own this story, and all that occurs disparate to that storyline.
Warnings: Death, Descriptions of injury and blood, Canonical Violence
The moon's light hung high in the sky as you and Levi sat on the carriage next to each other. Hange had left with Mikasa, Eren and Armin, along with a group of Scouts for Wall Rose to carry out their mission, but we were headed to Trost. You look up to see Pastor Nick opposite of us. He had nodded off to sleep in an upright position, Levi staring at him with a bored glance. You take the chance to look down at your covered arms, and you flex the wrist that had been bruised by the man in the military police. It had already felt so much better. Levi takes notice of your actions as his sharp eyes follow yours before gently taking your right wrist in his hand. He slowly shuffled your jacket and long-sleeved shirt up along your arm to display a now-fading red mark of a handprint left behind. You see him tense as he lightly holds your hand, seeing a flash of anger radiate through his eyes. Seeing this, you turn your hand over in his light grasp, squeezing his hand in comfort. "It doesn't even hurt anymore, Levi," you mutter, "I probably won't even see it in the morning." He sighs heavily, relenting at your words.
You then see his sharp eyes look up to you from your hand. "What were you going to tell me before we left Stohess?" He asked, and you remember back to your interaction. You had hesitated to ask him of Kenny the Ripper despite his sudden appearance in your dreams; in the flickers, you thought now to be your past. You find yourself hesitating again as you stare into his grey eyes. Was it really fair to bring this up to him now? You had kept the continuation of your dream a secret from him for a few days, knowing if you told him snippets, you would eventually tell him everything. You shake your head, as your eyes shine in conflict, "I won't burden you with my thoughts, Levi." You mutter but sigh inwardly as his face instantly goes dark. "You're no damn burden, don't be stupid." He replies, eyes brimming with curiosity and betrayal at what you kept from him. We usually had no secrets from each other, and you felt a sinking feeling of guilt in your gut.
"Tell me," he says, now with a softer look in his eyes. You sigh deeply, eyes looking down at your hands. "I had another dream," you mutter. You hear a brief silence, "Like the ones you usually do?" Levi asks, knowing as you had told him before, ever since you met, how you had dreamt of the ocean. "No," you shake your head, "no, it was a continuation of that," you tell him how in the dream you had docked with the strange woman, how we had trotted through the expanse of terrain you knew to be the one you saw outside Wall Maria, how we had encountered a Titan. You tell him how the woman had moved quickly, how she had saved you, but died when we had reached Wall Maria. Died, but not after telling you that she was your mother, that you were connected to the [l/n] clan, that the reason we escaped was related to your family name, that you had power he already knew of, and that you had come from a home outside the walls. "But, just before she died, I saw a man Levi." His eyes turned to you before they widened at your words, "It was Kenny, Kenny the Ripper."
You look at him as you see his face contort to one of darkness at the words. "Levi, what could this all mean? Do you think I came from outside the walls? I have strange powers to heal and run faster than I should. What if- what if I come from the same place as the enemy, what-" Levi cuts you off, seeing the frantic and hushed words that fall out of your mouth. "Oi, [y/n] calm down," he mutters, his face still dark even in the light of the moon. Silence envelops us as the mood quickly goes tense along with the haunted look in Levi's eyes. You start to wonder if it was such a good idea having told him at all. "Hey Levi, I'm sorry-", but he cuts you off again, surprising you with his words. "I already told you everything about the piece of shit that raised me," he mutters lowly, "so I don't know why he was there with you." His sharp eyes meet mine, "but I have heard of the [l/n] clan. Cause I overheard his muttering once."
You look up, eyes wide, remembering back to your dream, how Kenny had taken a particular interest in the clan when he overheard the conversation between you and your mother. "He said something about how the Ackermans and the [l/n] clan were once close to the crown before they were persecuted out of fear..." You look at him, willing him to continue, "Why," you ask, "why fear?" Levi looks at you, a dark look in his eyes. "I don't know. He caught me listening in." You sigh as he grits his teeth, looking down. Then, you remembered something you had not told Levi: how Titan blood mingled with the composition of your blood. Could it be that's why we were feared, you wondered, before shaking your head. You look at Levi and smile softly, brushing away the hair that fell on his face as he looks murderously to the ground. "Hey," you say as he stares back at you, "thank you for telling me." His eyes calm before he sighs, muttering something under his breath as comfortable silence washes over us again. You find yourself drifting off as moments pass us by, leaning on Levi's shoulder, who stiffens before you feel him relax and pull you closer to his side.
.....
Morning shone through the skies of Trost as you found yourself next to Levi again, Nick in front of us, on the same carriage you were on last night. But now, instead of the casual clothes you had worn, you sat with your Scout uniform on. After examining your side and feeling good as ever, you had sought out Erwin to be let back in on the action, to which he had agreed swiftly; glad to have one of his best soldiers back on the front lines. Levi hadn't taken it that well, leading to a scowling contest between him and the Commander, but he eventually relented at Erwin's sharp words. He knew you were an asset they shouldn't let pass by in a critical situation like the one we were in.
"Can you believe it? I thought this was an emergency." You hear the voices of the Military Police behind you, who mutter in their ignorance. "Yeah, and everyone's just sitting around here." You keep your eyes forward in distaste; as they joked about the Titans your comrades and friends could be dying. "Hey, Levi. Where are you hiding the Titans at?" You subtly glance to see Levi turn to the men behind us. "Oh? You all seem so disappointed." Levi says, clear sarcasm in his tone as the men swiftly stop in their idiotic taunts at his words. "Sorry... It's a shame you couldn't fight the Titans today. If you're looking for another chance, there's plenty of expeditions outside the walls." Levi's face darkens as his stormy eyes go sharp. "How about we join forces and face some Titans together?"
The Military Police look to each other, now tense at his request. "Uh, well, you know... We're busy with work on the interior..." Before they can continue to make additional excuses, you hear the voice of a soldier shout out, "The advance squad returned! Inform Commander Pixis!"
.....
"I see, so there was nothing wrong with the wall?" Pixis asks as you ignore the sinking feeling in your chest at his words. "Yes, sir!" the garrison soldier looked up at his feet in reply; he seemed exhausted, as he took a large gulp of water from a bottle provided to him. "H-however, there's a bit of a situation! We were heading back to Trost to give our report when we ran into the Scout unit led by Section Commander Hange. Along with them, there were recruits from the 104th without their equipment. And it turns out, three of them... were Titans!" Jean looks at the soldier by his feet, "What are you talking about?" he says, eyes wide and grim, "Are you saying there were more?! Three more of them?!" You frown, knowing of Betholdt and Reiner but not of a third. "Who were they!" Jean shouted out to the soldier who looked uncertainly at the boy in front of her.
"Jean, relax," Erwin speaks up from next to the boy as he puts a hand on his shoulder, briefly calming his frantic look. "What happened when their forms were revealed?" Erwin asks as he looks at the Garrison soldier. "The Scouts engaged the Colossal and Armoured Titan in battle. But by the time we joined up with them to fight... it was over." Your eyes go sharp, your heart thrumming against your chest at his words.
.....
You ride with Erwin as we approach the Forest of the Giant Trees. We had just met with Hange moments ago; they were burnt and weak from battling the Titans, the Colossal Titan having scorched many Scouts with the steam it had let off. They had informed us of the situation. The situation that Reiner and Bertholdt had kidnapped Eren and Ymir. Hange had predicted, however, that wherever they were headed was beyond the walls, and being in Titan-infested lands would probably cause them to seek refuge somewhere until night fell when Titans would no longer roam the lands. We had concluded that the Giant trees, which hindered the Titan's abilities to reach them, would be the best place to hide out until then.
As we approached the Forest, you suddenly saw a bright light amongst the treeline; a Titan had transformed. You turn to Erwin swiftly, "Straight ahead in the forest! A light, a light of a Titan's transformation." Erwin nods, eyes firm and grim. "We made it in time. Soldiers, disperse! We believe the enemy has already transformed! Locate Eren and recover him!" Just as we reach the treeline, however, Titans approach us, too many to count, as you watch many Military Police who were among us get caught in its grasp. "Battle is not our objective!" Erwin's voice stops you from lending help, "Prioritize recovery and retreat!" You sprint into the trees, teeth gritted as you move with [h/n], dodging Titans swiftly whilst looking into the branches, hoping to catch a glance of Eren or the Titans.
Moments pass without seeing anything before you hear the call of the Commander again, which causes you to rush to his side. "All squads! Let the Titans chase after you! Follow my lead!" You see Erwin's wide blue eyes a short distance away before you look ahead, seeing the Armoured Titan and a smaller Titan clinging to its back. You also saw a small group of Scouts a short distance away from the Titan, many of whom were part of the 104th Training Corps. "Erwin, you demon! Are you trying to use us as bait again?!" You hear the shout of a Military Police as you rush towards the group with Erwin. "That's not your intention! The Military Police have fought well! Now serve your duty as soldiers!" Erwin yells back to the soldier before looking ahead of us. "The Armoured Titan plans to escape with Eren! We have to stop him no matter what!"
Titans swarm us as they approach from behind whilst we go ahead. Erwin then looks to you quickly, "[y/n], you need you to take care of the Titans if any get in the way. Your speed is essential in preventing them from disturbing Mikasa and the other members of the 104th training corps from retrieving Eren." You look at him, eyes widening in surprise, before nodding, "Roger, Erwin." You look up to see that, indeed, Mikasa and some members of the 104th Training Corps had already been able to engage due to their proximity. However, you also see how they land on the Armoured Titan, unable to do anything as the Titan seems to have Bertholdt and Eren in its strong grasp. That's when you look to the distance and see a massive hoard of Titans rushing our way, dozens and dozens running toward us. You then realised that Erwin intended: to have us bring the Titans behind us whilst clashing with the ones in front; we would become entrapped, but the Armoured Titan may use the bait and let go of Eren to get rid of the Titans.
You grit your teeth, forcing us forward despite our situation. You see Hannes, the garrison soldier, call out to the cadets to jump off the Armoured Titan as we are about to make an impact. "All soldiers, disperse! Get far away from the Titans!" Just as the Titans approach and are about to make contact, you make a sharp left, avoiding their grasp, causing the Armoured Titan to become encased in Titans. The Titan yells out as you see Titans on Titans, trying to tear it apart. "Is this hell?" You hear Jean ask from a short distance away, but your heart lurches when you see Erwin rush forward towards the Titans again. "No... but it will be!" You yell out as you follow him on [h/n].
"All soldiers, charge!" Erwin yells from in front, raising a sword to his right. "The fate of humanity will be determined in this very moment! There is no future where humanity can inhabit these lands without Eren! We retrieve Eren and immediately retreat!" He takes a breath before forcing forward further to the Titans, "Give your hearts!" The breeze is harsh against your face as you ride, Mikasa and the others joining in as we shout. You look up to see that the Armoured Titan seems to give in, letting Eren and Bertholdt out of his grasp to shove the Titans around him to the side instead. "It worked," Jean yells out to your side. "Now's our chance," Mikasa adds. But Jean looks at her in disbelief, "Hey, Mikasa?! Can't you see all those Titans?! How do you plan on getting through that mess? You'd have to slip through a horde of 'em"
"Advance!" Erwin still yells out to your left, but as you see his right arm rise again, you catch a glimmer of wide eyes; Titan's eyes. "Erwin!" You yell out, but it's too late. A large Titan holds Erwin by his right arm in its jaws, blood spurting from the skies. Scouts scream to the Commander, horror present on their faces, but Erwin still yells to us, "Advance! Eren is just ahead! Advance!" You turn back around, gritting your teeth, knowing he's right before you turn to the members of the 104th training corps. "Oi, listen up," you yell out, catching their attention, "we move forward, all of you, focus on retrieving Eren at all costs!" The Scouts look up to me, eyes wide. "B-but the Titans!" You hear Jean yell out. You look up. Indeed, about 30 Titans are standing right in front of us, Scouts around us dying already.
You stand atop [h/n], looking sharply at the squad. You grin grimly despite the mounds of death that surround us, causing the Scouts to pause as they look at you. "I'll handle them. You focus on the mission!" The squad answers quickly, "Yes, Captain." With that, we continued our charge forward, but you jumped off of [h/n], using your speed to cut through five Titans that reached out to us; they fell in seconds, allowing the Scouts to fall through. The Scouts looked at you, awestruck at how swiftly the Titans that were in their way fell to the side, leaving a clear path ahead to the Armoured Titan that was still encased in Titans. You continue along, cutting through Titans that hindered the path of the Scouts before you see Mikasa finally able to approach the Armoured Titan with the rest of the small squad that followed. You look behind her to see many Scouts dying as they are eaten, but you push away the feeling of guilt in your gut, knowing it was essential to get these Scouts to the Armoured Titan, remembering Erwin's words.
Mikasa sets off her horse on the ODM gear and attaches to the Armoured Titan as she forces her blades towards Bertholdt, who has Eren in his grasp but she misses. This causes Mikasa to fly through the air before you notice a Titan that is behind her. Eren lets out a muffled scream as Mikasa yells out now in the Titan's hold, but you react, speeding across the air and killing it in seconds. "Bertholdt!" You see Armin and the other members of the 104th Training Corps land on the Armoured Titan, now free of Titans besides those you decide to leave clawing at the Armoured Titan. Knowing they're now safe, you nod to Jean, who looks to you in thanks before you take off and kill a Titan about to kill a Scout a few meters away. Moments pass as you cut through Titans, again and again and again, saving Scouts. However, you can only do so much as one soldier against many needing help. We need to leave now.
You hear Erwin's shout as you turn, shocked to see that he is still with us, and your eyes go to Mikasa, who has Eren in her hold; we had done it. "All soldiers, retreat!" You quickly call [h/n] with a whistle as you grab onto their reins, flinging yourself on her back as you race towards Erwin, quickly escaping the Armoured Titan, who is still enveloped by Titans. We continued sprinting forward for a few seconds before we saw a shadow that towered over us. Reiner, the Armoured Titan, was now flinging Titans our way. The ones that had enveloped its body were now crashing beyond us, causing the ground to shatter under its weight and burst as clouds of dust rose, impairing your vision. Shit.
You turn in time to see Erwin fall to the floor, clutching his now non-existent right arm as Ymir's Titan fights off another Titan and the Scout who approaches him is devoured by a Titan. You force [h/n] forward before slicing through the Titan in front of Erwin, killing it, though you know the Scout in its mouth had already died. "Erwin!" You yell out as you dismount and rush to his side, but his eyes are elsewhere, looking behind you. His eyes, usually so full of determination, dwindle as you follow his line of sight. Despite having already killed so many Titans, Reiner's assault and more than 20 Titans now in the area had left your efforts in vain. Scouts were being killed around you or screaming in fear as they were about to be. You grit your teeth, pushing off the ground and going to another Titan, slicing through its neck.
You feel the power that lies in your speed spark as you rush across the terrain, killing and killing and killing. Your head is a blur as you surge through the air, your mind buzzing under the weight of the breeze. You save dozens of Scouts, who look up, still in shock and unmoving at their encounter with death. You also save Scouts too late, who fall to the floor, blood seeping from their bodies, limbs scattered. You push and push through the air, using your speed and skills to kill. To kill and kill and kill. You don't know how much time passes, you don't know who's dead or alive, you just keep moving. Despite the lack of obstacles that allow the use of ODM gear freely, despite the fact that your side starts to prick against the scar under the strain of your movements, despite the fact that you feel yourself become lighter from the lack of gas still in your gear, despite the fear that threatens to make itself known; the fear you won't be able to return to him this time.
As you go to kill another Titan, with a Scout dying in its grasp, your mind goes to the man you left behind. Levi. He had been so adamant you stayed behind, to stay with him and not go out to the danger beyond the walls without him. It was true; you can't remember being away from the man for so long. You don't remember completing one mission without him by your side. He had grabbed you firmly, trying to force you not to go, but Erwin had spoken on your behalf. You could see in his eyes that he knew you had to go too. You couldn't stay when your side had practically healed, and the existence of humanity was under the very threat of extinction. He had cursed at his injury before he had looked into your eyes, worry brimming past his sharp stare. "Come back to me," he had muttered. It had made your chest buzz with surprise at his show of concern. You replied instantly, looking at his determined stare with your own. "Always, Levi. I will always come back to you; you know your promise." You had glanced up at him as his eyes had flickered with conflict. "Until the end."
I cannot die here.
You look up in time to see Eren and Mikasa, who are only a short distance away. They seem to be sharing a moment with themselves, faces shrouded with defeat but your focus is on the Titan that stood only a small distance away from them, covered in blood. It had a wide, unsettling smile, showing its gums and teeth and blond hair that nearly reached its shoulders. Your gear shakes from overuse. You don't think you’ve ever killed so many Titans at once. But despite the dwindling stability of your movements, you sprinted over to where the two still sat, looking at each other. You see the Titan now make a grab at Eren, who still looked to Mikasa, too slow to notice, but you were faster. You push with the last of your ODM gear and push Eren out of its reach, away from the Titan that approached him. Mikasa looked at us in the shock of Eren almost being killed as we rolled away before coming to a halt. You found yourself on top of the emerald-eyed boy, and you clutched at the slight jolt of pain on your side with your right hand before looking up.
"Mikasa!" you yell as you see the blond-haired Titan approaching her. Eren screams from underneath you as your eyes widen. You realise that from where your left hand had grasped his wrist in the impact, sparks had started to form.
You quickly let go and got off him to the side, but Eren continued to yell out loudly from where we sat as you saw the sparks on his wrists turn to a glow that emitted from his body. You turned in time to see that the blond-haired Titan took a step back just before it touched Mikasa. You froze in astonishment, never seeing a Titan heed to a human's shouts as it had just done. Eren takes the chance to then rushes forward, swinging his hands around in the air in an attempt to reach and protect Mikasa. Your shock doubles as you see a Titan lunge at the Blond-haired Titan, mimicking Eren's wild swings. As Eren looks up in surprise at what is happening in front of him, more and more Titans rush to the scene. Those that had been fighting amongst the Scouts, amid their killing spree, had turned away from their prey and instead lunged at the blond Titan that had almost killed Mikasa. Dozens of Titans now tear away at it, eating and killing it.
What's happening... What were those sparks that emitted through your touch along Eren's wrists... you had seen his eyes at the brief contact. They were wide and almost haunted. You quickly shake your head. Now's not the time to be having these thoughts. No, now was our chance.
You turn to Eren, who now has Mikasa on his back. You follow his line of sight and see the Armoured Titan with Bertholdt on its shoulder approaching us, but Eren yells out before they can. "Get away from me! You bastards! I'll kill you all!" Your surprise doubled as you saw the Titans that had been tearing at the now-dead blond-haired Titan in front of us look up, eyes glowing. Then, they got up before turning and pursuing Reiner and Bertholdt, following the orders of Eren's shouts once again. You quickly sheathed your remaining blades as you let out a long whistle, knowing you could no longer stay in disbelief. We had to leave now. [h/n] approaches immediately, as you pat her head in greeting before mounting. You see Armin approach with Jean unconscious behind him, before providing Eren and Mikasa with a horse. Knowing they're now safe, you rush forward in the direction of Erwin's voice. "Don't let this chance escape! Full retreat!" All the Scouts rush off into the distance, away from the Titans that now ravaged the Armoured Titan.
"Ymir!" You turned to see a girl, but as you took a closer look, you realised it was the girl described as Krista. She looks to Ymir's smaller Titan, who stops in their tracks. "Hey, ugly! What are you doing?! We're heading back!" You turn to see a boy with a buzz cut yell out. But, to your surprise, the Titan then reaches out gently, wrapping a hand around Krista and patting her head with its pointer finger. "I'm... sorry..." You watch the scene in front of you with wide eyes before the Titan then runs off, ignoring Krista's screams as they bound away in the direction of the Armoured Titan, who is still struggling in their fight against the Titans.
You hold Krista back from running off, "Stop," you yell, to which she turns to you, wide blue eyes swimming with worry and tears. "But Captain, Ymir is..." you look past her to the sight of Ymir's Titan helping Reiner and Betholdt fight back against those who threatened to eat them. You shake your head at her desperate form. "She made her choice, we need to leave." You held onto her reins, pulling Krista away with the other Scouts and the boy, who looked at us with wide eyes, ignoring her shouts as we continued on. Moments pass, and the sun starts to hide beneath the horizon, letting darkness pull onto the sky. You go to Erwin's side as you leave Krista with the boy you learned to be called Connie. You look at the Commander and the way he clutched his arm whilst firm eyes continued to face onwards.
"You did well [y/n]," you look up to see Erwin's eyes straight ahead. "I am grateful you were here today. You prevented more than half our casualties, not to mention you saved Eren's life." Your eyes widen, surprised at his rare provision of praise. "Well, you know, Erwin, how much we hate pointless death," You say, staring grimly at the man next to me. Erwin's eyes glance at you, his blue eyes shining under the light of the moon. He knew you spoke of Levi. "When we get back, get your side checked out again," he says before facing forward again. You looked down to see a bit of blood had tainted your white shirt, likely from your fall when you had saved Eren. You nod in reply, swallowing back the onslaught of questions that reach your mind: How were we able to escape? How was Eren able to control the Titans? Why did Eren have that brief haunted look in his eyes when you grasped onto his wrist? No; you push those thoughts to the back of your head, instead letting silence linger in the air before it consumes the rest of your way back to Trost.
....
When you dismounted [h/n] having finally returned, Levi had rushed to you instantly, eyes sharpening at your slightly bloodied side, at your lack of blades and your empty gas tanks. We had been fortunate not to have encountered any more Titans on our way back, as they all seemed to rush towards the Armoured Titan. You had looked up to meet Levi's eyes, laced with concern. You felt your body finally able to relax at the sight of him as you grabbed onto him swiftly, pulling him in for a hug in the darkness of the night. You were glad to be back by his side, and so was he. His eyes had softened briefly as he let relief envelop him before he took you to Nurse Frida for a check-up. She had looked to your side but realised the brief blood that had seeped through was already closed up, as your side had healed into a thin red scar. In two days, it would be completely gone, she had said, much to Levi's relief, though he tried not to show it.
Now, you sat next to Levi and opposite Commander Pixis as we looked at Erwin, who was still recovering in bed. Authorities had recently declared Wall Rose as secured, allowing citizens to return. They were glad to as they had been forced into The Underground within Wall Sina when the breach was announced. However, with more than half the population surviving off food stockpiled for emergencies, rations could only last, at most, a week. Any longer would've risked civil war. Moments of silence passed before a knock was heard on the door. Levi turned, knowing it was Hange, "Come in."
"Pardon the intrusion, Erwin," Hange said, saluting the Commander as he looked up from his bed. "I'm glad we came while you were here, Commander Pixis. Good timing, this is..." Hange turned to a boy you instantly recognised as he spoke up. "A Scout from the 104th, Conny Springer." Hange turned from the boy back to Erwin, continuing, "Conny comes from Ragako Village." Pixis looked at him in surprise, "The village the recent Titan invasion originated from?" Hange looked at him and nodded, "Yes. Actually, I confirmed the findings of our investigation on the village with him. This only brings further credibility to the hypothesis. He's come to report."
Silence descends the room as Connie steps forward, a portrait of what turned out to be his parents in his grasp as he gives us his report. Your eyes widen at his words, "In other words, the true identity of Titans... is humans?" You ask from where you sit, feeling Levi tense beside you, but you are still too up in your own head to give him any comfort. "We don't... have proof yet," Hange says to us, but it does nothing to ease the tension. "So... you're telling me... I've spent all this time and energy running around killing people?" Levi asks, his eyes darkening and sharp under the light of the windows behind him. "Is that right?" Hange looks on to him, gaze unfaltering. "I said we don't have proof yet." At those words, Erwin dismisses Hange and Connie, who give us a salute before leaving, and Pixis decides to do the same.
Levi stands, now looking out the windows while you still look to the floor, contemplating their words. "Erwin." You hear Levi's voice from behind you before he pauses. You looked up to see what had made him stop, and your eyes followed him to the Commander in front of you. He was looking forward, blue eyes glinting under the light of the sun. His lips turned into a smile, almost relieved. "Hey. Tell me." Levi utters, his voice dark and his eyes brimming with shock. "The hell you smiling for?" Erwin looks up to us before his eyes fall to his bed. "It's nothing... It's just... with this, we've taken one more step towards the truth." The silence in the room is tense as Levi replies. "Just one step, huh? We'll run out of people before we learn the truth. It's not worth the cost." Erwin's eyes stay firm on his bed, "But it is a step towards the truth." His eyes then face forward, determination growing from where he sat. "One day, we'll break it down. This wall hiding the truth... will fall."
Misbehaving
Oneshot | MDNI | Eren
Aboard the zeppelin home to Paradis, you and Eren get a bit heated.
⚠️Cws; spicy SMUT 🌶️, enemies-to-lovers trope, lowkey angst
Notes; fem!reader, reader is implied to be pretty short, canon au
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚠️Smut cws; slight dubcon, slight roughplay, creampie, unprotected sex, throatholding/choking, 'i'm a big girl, i can take it' type thing, hate-fucking, mean dirty talk, half-clothed sex
"God damn you." You said to Eren.
He was sat in the secluded compartment of the zeppelin, his gaze plastered on the floor, head tilted forward letting loose strands of hair fall over his face.
You hated his indifference and silence. He was so far removed from the Eren you used to know; a loud-mouthed, enthusiastic comrade. Even though you never really got along with that Eren in the past, the way he was now got on your nerves even more.
"What are you all worked up about?"
You looked at him, appalled. Surely he's joking, right? No, he can't be, even the old Eren wasn't the type to joke around.
"Are you serious? Do you have any idea what you did tonight?" You raged quietly.
He looked at you. "You're not in a position to judge me, so don't even start."
You felt something light up inside you. It took all your strength to refrain from taking after Levi and kicking the boy in front of you.
"You've always had unresolved issues." You sighed, "Who the hell thought any plan would work with you? God damn brat." You spat.
Eren's eyes narrowed, "Since when do you speak like Levi?"
"He is Captain Levi!" You furrow your brows at him, "Don't you address him with that kind of disrespect."
Meanness glinted in his green eyes.
"Sorry, Y/n." He said, missing your title to purposefully disrespect you.
You swallow sharply. You can feel your rage building up in your throat.
"You call me that again and I'll tell the Captain." You said.
Eren suppressed a scoff, "You'll tell the Captain? You sound like a scared little cadet, not an officer." he insulted.
You tried to seem menacing, and stood with your chin held high, close to where he sat. But he was more menacing than you could ever be, even with his legs spread out nonchalantly and his hair sloppily spilling over his face.
"I bet," He piped up, "That underneath this big girl façade, you're scared shitless of me, just like everyone else."
"No way I am!" Your voice cracked, both due to anger and scaredness.
Eren saw your composure was beginning to slip, and rose from his seat to his full height. He looked colossal to you.
"Oh yeah? Are you gonna keep lying to yourself, thinking you're a big girl?" He asked heavily. Traces of sensuality lingered in his tone.
"Yeah..." You tried to retort, but your voice became small.
Eren drew closer to you, his whole aura intimidating you, keeping your eyes wide as if on alert for danger.
"What do you think you're doing? You can't stand up to your superior like this – " You choked up.
"Oh, sorry," Eren's eyes bored into yours, "Am I disrespecting you?" he asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, you damn bastard. You're misbehaving." You strain to speak. He's overpowering you, closing in the distance.
"That's awful." He said, harshly grabbing for your arms and spinning you around.
You let out a gasp and felt your chest collide with the cold walls of the zeppelin.
"Eren!" You scolded, "Let go, I'll be fucking condemned by Levi if I get caught doing this with you here!" You whined.
"That's Captain Levi to you." Eren turned your words on you, "I'll be telling him about how badly you're misbehaving. Really, how can you be this disrespectful to your superiors?"
You felt him pressing close to your body, his hard on pressing into your ass. You just about melted feeling his warmth, you ached to be this close to him, you had to admit, as much as you hated his guts there was something magnetic about him.
"Eren, you dick!" You complained against the wall, feeling your hot breath fan your own face.
He looked down at your little body, pressing tighter against it, "What are you complaining about? You're rubbing against me like you want me."
You couldn't even respond. He was completely right. You were backing up into him, grinding needily against his bulge. Even the slight friction of your tight uniform had you getting hot, and Eren knew it.
"You're getting a bit worked up, huh?" He smirked to himself, "Do you want me?"
"Don't be ridiculous..." You mumble, craning your neck to look up at him from behind.
Just that sight had him throbbing. You could feel his outline pressing into your ass while he stared down at you lustfully.
For a second you decided to put your pride and professionalism aside, and indulged in a dirty, hot kiss with him. His taste was entrancing, it was impossible to stop once you started.
Eren brought two big hands to your body; one held your throat and kept you in this pretty position, and the other played with your thighs. He loved seeing your back arch like that for him, even if he didn't say it.
As soon as his mouth pulled off of yours, he started running it again, "Hey, what was that you were telling me about misbehaving?"
You sighed erotically against him, your body succumbing to the pleasant touch of his fingertips against your clit. He pressed and rubbed in languid circles.
"Don't get quiet on me now, you were so verbal earlier. You surely can't be this weak that a little bit of touching shuts you up?" He spoke venomously in your ear.
"God damn you..." You muttered. He tightened his grasp on your throat, pulling you closer to his firm chest.
"Wanna say that louder?"
You didn't respond, and just looked up into his eyes.
He smirked, and asked you something that he knew would scramble your brain, "Wanna feel it inside?"
Your eyes widened excitedly. He heard your breath get caught in your throat, oh that's cute, he thought, but to you he just looked condescending.
"Is that a yes or no?" He asked flatly.
"Y-yes." You answered in a small voice.
"Mhm, thought so." He chuckled.
His hands impatiently peeled yours and his pants off. You let out a gasp feeling his length rest bare against your ass.
"God damn," Eren commented, feeling how messy and wet you were, "Are you okay?" He asked sarcastically.
"Don't tease, I hate it!" You whined, squirming when his fingers went to play on your clit.
"You mean you love it? You're shaking. Oh, or are you still scared of me? Is that why you're shaking?" He joked.
"Asshole! I'm not scared of you." You responded annoyedly.
"Liar."
He kept playing until suddenly he pressed his hot tip into you. You reactively squirmed to feel more, so he placed his hand back around your throat to keep you in position.
"Eren!" You gasped when he pressed deeper inside.
God damn, you cursed inside your head. Why was it that the one person you hated most was able to stretch you out so deliciously?
"Shit, you're big." You muttered against his lips. That made his ego swell.
"Yeah? Am I?" He asked, pushing deeper inside.
"Fuck!" You cried out, "I can't take all of it!" You said, knowing full well that you loved it and that you only wanted to fuel his ego more.
"I thought you were a big girl? What happened?" Eren spoke into your ear.
You tried to respond, but got caught up in the feeling of him moving in and out of you.
Before you could formulate a retort, Eren was banging you hard against the wall, pressing a dirty kiss to your lips.
He definitely knew what he was doing, holding you tight like a lover and taking deep strokes. He was completely destroying you and you loved it every bit of it.
"Eren..." You mewled.
He got your head spinning with pleasure, everything was getting hot. All you could smell in the air was sex and his scent.
"Yeah? What?" He responded bitterly.
"Fuck – ah – that's so good, l-love it." You whined, drawing out the last word while he fucked into you deliciously.
"Yeah?" He breathed heavily. You thought your words would feed his inflated ego, but something changed in his tone.
Maybe he was just high on the feeling of you squeezing him so tight, but he seemed to be looking at you tenderly.
Your uniform felt so tight, you were sweating so much with him it was almost uncomfortable. His hand kept a tight hold on your throat, and you kept your body in an erotic arch for him.
"Eren, I'm gonna cum." You cried shamelessly.
"Of course you are. You can't handle much, can you?"
"No." You admitted in a long moan.
Eren almost admitted that he wanted to see you finish for him, but instead he suppressed a moan and kept thrusting in and out with deep, hard strokes.
You panted his name, feeling your relief wash over you like a harsh tidal wave. Eren kept your body safe against his own while you shook from pleasure.
Feeling you climax around him pulled out a deep moan from him, and he couldn't help but spill everything he's got inside you.
"Mmm, Eren, I love you." You admitted, drunk on the feeling of your high and the sensation of being filled up by him.
He stuttered, unsure about what he just heard. Maybe he was imagining it. In fact, he convinced himself that you didn't say that.
The two of you panted, your bodies close together while you absorbed the afterglow of your orgasms.
It felt like he was holding you like a lover.
After a long, motionless silence, the two of you quietly dressed and composed yourself.
"Eren?" You called out his name unsurely.
"Yeah?" He responded wearily.
You weren't sure what words would get through a stubborn boy like him, so you walked over and laid a kiss on him.
He looked up at you like a lost puppy. He almost seemed to be on the verge of tears. All he wanted to really say to you, he figured out, was that he missed you desperately during his time in Marley.
my mind’s at erase
and my thoughts are done
i’ve been meaning to tell you this
since my lies begun
Things were taking a turn for the worse in your life these days. You’d just gotten out of a relationship with your long-term boyfriend, Eren. He hadn’t always been this way. Things started getting bad after you found out from your best friend, Hanji, that he was cheating on you.
You had been together since high-school, everyone knew you two because you were always attached at the hip. You were voted most likely to get married in superlatives, and you were at every football game he had. 6 years isn’t something you can just throw away the way he did.
He used to be sweet. He would invite your friends out with you guys on occasion, and he’d dote on you at all times. You remember first words to him after Hanji told you were, “How could you Eren? After all this time?” You remember the sharp piercing feeling in your chest, tears running down your cheeks, and he had the nerve to start an argument with you. Gaslight, tell you Hanji’s lying, tell you it’s your fault, how you weren’t satisfying him enough. But when you’d tried to leave, he’d tried to forbid it. “You can’t leave, (Y/n), please, I won’t let you, I won’t do it again.”
Even past dating, you’ve known Eren since middle school. But he needed to go, and you were not even ready to think about forgiveness. You didn’t think if you’d ever forgive him.
Hanji on the other hand, Hanji kept telling you you cannot forgive him. You have no reason to forgive him. But you just couldn’t help yourself for wanting to.
the way i feel inside
reflects of the souls in your eyes
i’ve been meaning to tell you this
all my life
You’d taken some time off work, told your boss you had a family emergency. Hanji, being the angel that she is, came to comfort you. You were not ready to go into work yet, you didn’t know how to handle yourself right now.
She mentioned introducing you to a coworker of hers who’d been going through a similar experience. She said talking to him might help you find closure within yourself. She set up an afternoon for both of you to meet up with him this weekend at a coffee shop you used to love.
That was the problem. You lost yourself in Eren. The hardest part about coping is that everything you like reminds you of him, and you can’t remember what you liked before him. Sometimes you remember, times like this. You associate that coffee shop with good friends and good memories. He never liked this coffee shop, he said their coffee tasted like tap water and mud. Ever since you’d moved out with him, you had stopped going.
Maybe meeting with this ‘Levi’ would be a good thing for you.
But you still had other short comings to manage, like the fact that you couldn’t refuse Eren when he asked you to let him get his stuff the Friday after. Your gut knew he’d try to convince you to take him back. But you needed answers before you could even consider it an option.
Friday morning comes, and you ask Hanji to hold off coming over for a few hours. You wanted to let Eren share his thoughts, but you didn’t want to say a word to him. So the moment he arrived, everything was awkward and silent and dreadful. You sat in the kitchen after letting him in, just letting him collect his things in peace.
But you knew it in the back of your mind, the thought ‘he’s going to try to convince you to let him back in’ screaming in the back of your mind. And you still gave him the benefit of the doubt, with hope in your heart, that he wouldn’t try to lie or manipulate his way out of it this time.
But boy was your mind right, and that fact did not aid your heart as it shattered once more. “I promise, Mikasa didn’t mean anything to me Y/n. Just listen.” he cried when you were telling him to leave after he’d packed everything.
“No. I won’t listen. How long have you been seeing Mikasa, Eren?” Your response is cold, dripping venom. You were doing everything to keep your guard up.
“I can’t tell you.” He began to cry again, not knowing how to win you back. It killed him, and it hurt you to see him crying at your feet like this.
“Yes, you can. How long have you been seeing Mikasa?” You ask again, and he grips his hair and looks at the floor, not being able to meet your gaze when he whispers out, “3 years.”
“THREE YEARS?” You’re yelling. You never yell, but why are you yelling? Why are you letting him see how hard this hurts you?
“(Y/n), I—“ He’s sobbing, but just as he’s about to try and spew out more ridiculous shit, Hanji’s car pulls up to your apartment. You can see the hurt and emotions you’re displaying reflecting off of his beautiful green eyes, and it makes it so much harder for you to send him away.
“I’ve heard enough, you need to leave. Hanji’s about to come inside and she’s going to murder you if you’re here.” You don’t even look at him, giving him the warning that you would let Hanji beat him up.
Eren grabs the rest of his bags and walks out as Hanji’s getting out of her car. The death glare you watch her give him is insane. It was 2:01, and to be fair, you told Hanji it should only take him an hour and a half. For everything that Hanji is and everything that she lacks, at least she’s here when you need her to be here.
You’re sobbing when she finally walks in, the composure you held breaking as he left. You couldn’t fight it anymore, and Hanji ran over to you instantly to let you know how much she loves you and how proud of you she is. The way that you carried yourself and held your self respect showed strength.
to think of who i am
shows much of what you were too
slowly i realize
i’ll be fine without you
Hanji took you out the day after for that for coffee with her coworker. She was good friends with this person, but she didn’t tell you much about them. She did however tell you to ‘not dress homeless’ and to dress ‘how you would on a good day.’ If that was meant to be a compliment, it feels more like a ridiculous insult to your already sensitive heart.
She was very excited, for reasons unbeknownst to you. She was doing a poor job at hiding her giddiness as well, twitching and smiling to herself. Looking back on it now you can understand why, but back then it seemed like she was just being her normal, weird-self.
When you walk in, there’s a nice jazzy coffeehouse vibe. The smell of grinding arabica coffee beans and dripping espresso slaps you in the face, but Hanji’s instantly darting over to her friend. A man, Hanji failed to mention, but he was pretty. It was a thought you had to shove out of your mind.
He had long, soft black hair with an undercut below. His jaw was well cut, and his face seemed almost fixed into a frown. He had a nice earring in one ear, and some tattoos here and there. He was dressed nicely in some casual jeans and a t-shirt. “This is Levi,” She introduces. You glance at Hanji after trying to not make it obvious you were inspecting him, but she had her arm locked over his shoulders. Hanji was pretty tall, but you were always on the short side, but Levi was short too.
You wanted to trust Hanji’s intuition though, and just sat across from him. Hanji finished bothering the unnamed man, and sat beside you. After ordering some drinksb to the table, you couldn’t help but feel awkward as Levi and Hanji began to talk about work related stuff.
You wanted to trust Hanji, you really did, but you couldn’t understand what she wanted out of this. You instead opt to wait for your coffee quietly. Unfortunately the plan isn’t ever gonna go the way you want it if Hanji is around.
And she started to tell Levi about your job, which Levi seemed really interested in and asked you all kinds of questions. He was fascinated about some things, and genuinely seemed like he wanted to hear more from you. You quickly bonded over similar interests like tea and fine art, but you’ve learned that he just appreciates art rather than enjoys making it himself.
After you three finished your drinks, you talked for another three hours before you all left. Hanji put you and Levi into a group chat before he left, making him aware she was going to be pestering the both of you often. Levi and Hanji started working together around the same time, also around the same time you started college and met Hanji.
Hanji was a teacher’s assistant and a junior in your chemistry class freshman year, and she helped you a lot with coming out of your shell after entering college.
But when you’re remembering that, you can’t help yourself but remember that Eren and you had just started living in an apartment together as well. And now its been 4 years since then, and you still can’t find closure or comfort in your thoughts. Where did everything go wrong for the two of you? It will take so much time to heal, but you know that you’ll get there on your own eventually.
i gave you your chances
and just put them aside
to find out too late
of who i am inside
Regretful isn’t a good word to describe how you’re feeling. You loved Eren so much, but when you realize how much time and effort you put into your relationship with him just to be cheated on for half of it makes you feel so disconnected with yourself. You’re remorseful, and you feel like you’ve betrayed yourself at the end of the day.
You’ll never forget the night last year that he didn’t show up for a date he had planned for you after class. He said it’d be a surprise, and he told you to wait outside of your campus. He was going to come pick you up. But 5 minutes of waiting had eventually turned into an hour and five minutes of waiting, and you eventually went home. Eren wasn’t even at the apartment.
His excuse was that he got held up at school because he had been assigned some group project and his partners made him stay to help start it. Of course you believed him. However, when memories like this come to mind, all you can think about now was, ‘Was he seeing Mikasa?’
Not trying to let thoughts like this bring your progress to a halt, you ask Hanji to arrange another hangout with Levi. He was really nice, and you appreciated his company the first time around. Of course she over-excitedly screamed out an, “OF COURSE I CAN MAKE PLANS FOR US AGAIN!” Before immediately grabbing her phone and texting him.
You really were so thankful to have someone like Hanji here beside you to help you through this, but sometimes you felt like you were losing yourself. You couldn’t remember what you enjoyed before Eren, so how were you going to find yourself again?
And when she asked if there was anything you wanted to do before she just picked something, you felt so ashamed of yourself for not knowing what to say. What did you enjoy doing? It felt like every answer to that question had always been associated with Eren. “Fuck you, Eren.” You mumbled to yourself.
“Where did that come from?” Hanji laughs. “Not that I disagree, but we can’t exactly pick that for a hangout activity.” She giggles, You give her a raised brow, but you smile at her idiocy none the less. Eventually, given that it’s apple picking season, she suggests the three of you go apple picking. You have no objections, and you tell her to not force Levi into it if he’s not up for the idea. Of course though, in true Hanji fashion, her response is, “Levi never has choices when it comes to me.” with her classic devilish grin.
show me yourself, come show me who you are
these are the times we wish it never went this far
hidden by your words, oh god please let me see
how someone plays with feelings oh so carelessly
You’ve only been apple picking once and it was with Eren. The saddest after thought, it was 4 years ago. In your head, that meant he’d given up after he started seeing Mikasa in secret.
But you can’t think about that. You asked Hanji for this, you wanted to have a good day. But your intrusive thoughts weren’t being nice today in particular, and you knew at some point you were probably going to spiral out.
Once you arrived at the orchard, your stomach felt uneasy. You didn’t know what was making you feel this way. Hanji had sensed that you were off, so she kept trying to redirect your mind without asking you if you were ‘okay.’ She knew what the answer to that would be.
As you’re walking up to meet Levi with Hanji, you feel like things might just be okay. You continue on with your day, the three of you walked around and you got to know Levi a bit better. He was really nice to you, even though he spoke so harshly to Hanji. It made you laugh when he’d immediately change his tone after speaking with you.
But all good things always seem to have to come to an end for you. After picking the apples, Hanji really wanted an apple cider donut. She dragged you and Levi into the small shop the orchard had on the property, trailing behind the two. But the minute you stepped inside, you saw him. Eren, standing in line at the counter with Mikasa. He had his arm around her waist while she ordered what she wanted.
The sight had your stomach dropping entirely. You finally understood where all the anxiety was coming from. Your gut knew he was here. You looked at Hanji immediately, who hadn’t noticed the pair, and slightly motioned your head in Eren’s direction. Right after, you look over at Eren once more, but this time your eyes lock with his. You turn around and run out, not having any strength left to put up with him.
You stand outside, and from the other side of the door you can hear the voices of Levi and Hanji arguing with Eren.
You eventually just walk away. You walk back towards the apple trees, wanting some peace of mind. Only two minutes later, you could hear someone running up behind you, and you turned to see Levi. He had ran outside to look for you.
“Hey.” He said casually when he stood beside you. “Hanji’s still arguing with him, she can go at it all day.” He informs you, to which you smile a bit. Hanji was a great friend, and you knew she’d drag Eren to Hell with her if she had the opportunity to.
“Why’d you come out here?” You ask curiously, not looking at him after you said it. You didn’t want him to think you he wasn’t wanted there, but you also were still unsure of his reasons.
“To check on my friend.” He glances at you out of the side of his eye while the two of you walk through the orchard together. “I want you to know (Y/n), you aren’t alone in this. For starters, your weird friend is inside ready to square up with your shithead ex-boyfriend.” You laugh loudly at his statement, and you catch him smiling a little at you through your peripheral vision. “There’s also me, who wants to in any way I can. I was in your position a few weeks ago.”
You and Levi hadn’t had the chance to talk one on one yet, but the conversation lasted for so long you had almost forgotten about Hanji. But to little surprise, as you two had turned to walk back to the shop, there she was trying to stealthily hide behind an apple tree.
“Hey four eyes, I wouldn’t exactly call that a hiding spot.” Levi calls.
“No one said I was trying to hide Levi.” She lightly punches his arm, and you smile.
Although you had a minor (alright, personally huge) bump in the road, these two really came through for you today.
give me your heart to come and be in one
vulnerable i was, please come and steal and run
just as we laughed, kissed,i looked deep in your eyes
to tell you how i felt, came one without reply
A few months later, you and Levi had started dating. The trauma and trust issues you have now make things really hard for you sometimes, but Levi is always ever so patient with you.
When he said I love you for the first time almost a year in, you almost had a panic attack. When you told Eren you loved him, he didn’t answer you right away. He told you he couldn’t say it back yet. The saddest part was you can’t remember if there was a time he ever said it back.
You didn’t understand the feeling of someone loving you. Eren neglected you so horribly in your relationship, and Levi tries to give you all of the attention you need to make up for it. All of the kisses that you’d missed, all the snuggles that had you shaking from being touch starved, all of the dates you’d never been on until Levi.
Levi makes everything better. He made you feel so secure and so safe, like you were the most precious person on the Earth. He needed to show you how worthy you were, because he knew exactly how unworthy you felt. He told you that helping you helps him find his worth, relieves him of his traumas from Petra.
He shared with you one day that as a result of Petra’s cheating, he felt like he wasn’t keeping her safe enough, wasn’t making her feel loved enough. Even if it wasn’t the case, he needs you to feel loved enough, especially knowing you were lacking so much of it for almost 6 years.
But after some more months of working together, you’ve grown to see 18 months as a couple. When you hit milestones like this, you always love to take time for you and Levi to self reflect. If Hanji hadn’t introduced you to Levi when she did, you’d have no idea where you’d be in this moment.
Just because you hadn’t met him wouldn’t have changed the fact Eren still cheated on you. You don’t think you’ll ever be able to change the dull ache you feel when you think of your childhood with him, but there’s no grief left for the love you had. But years of birthday’s, christmas’, thanksgiving’s and even valentine’s day memories can’t just be erased so quickly.
But time works in funny ways.
And after 4 years, Levi decided you had to be his forever. He wanted you to know how much you meant to him, and he knew you felt the same as he did.
You still thought of Eren at times, but there were still no regrets. Even years after, you wish him the best. But you can’t imagine marrying anyone other than Levi. Levi’s been the main source of your happiness.
He drags you out one night to a small lake in a park. The lake was kind of hidden, trees surrounding it and only one open crawl space. There were fireflies illuminating over the pond, and you could hear the chorus of cicadas echoing through the warm, humid air around you.
He’s helped you through most of it. The nights he held you because you couldn’t stop your intrusive thoughts, when you’d cry to yourself sometimes after saying a certain word or phrase, how you couldn’t bring yourself to watch your favorite television shows anymore. “Were they ever my favorites, or were they Eren’s favorites?” You’d ask yourself, questioning everything and bringing yourself to the point of an existential crisis. But Levi would always find a way to ground you.
Even on the other end, there would be times Levi would seem withdrawn and distant from his own intrusive thoughts. You knew he didn’t want any bullshit comforting words, so your go to form of care was to make him his favorite tea. When you first slept over his apartment after a few months into dating him, he’d tried to hide his silent cries from you. You turned over and held him though, and you’d promised yourself right then and there that you would always be there to hold him.
echoes is all i hear
i’m running, i’m running, i’m running
let go is all i fear
i’m running, i’m running, i’m running
After almost three solid years of dating Levi, it had almost felt like a whisper in the back if your mind. But you would never forget, and unfortunately Levi had the same trauma. But he took extra good care of you on your three year anniversary together.
In fact, Hanji had dragged you to the park that afternoon. “What’s wrong with taking a walk with your best friend?” She argued with you, and you couldn’t help rolling your eyes at her.
“Hanji, how many years have we been friends and when have you ever dragged me to the park for a WALK?” Your eyebrow is raised and the tone you use sounds almost motherly. “Are you a dog?” You add some banter, and the side eye you received had you cackling.
“No, you idiot, I’m not a dog. I needed some fresh air is all.” She’s looking around almost suspiciously as she says this though, and you just know something’s up. “Hey, there’s this new art display at the pier over here, we should pop by and see it.” She suggests, and you nod slowly. What is she up to?
“Yeaaaaahhhh, sure.” You’re reluctant, but follow anyway. You honestly had no idea what Hanji was doing right now, she’s not the type to go for random walks.
But as you walk closer to the pier, you could see lights in the distance. Not flashy ones, but it seemed pretty bright over there. You grew excited to see whatever silly art display she was talking about, but you weren’t going to tell her that.
“We’re almost there, you have to close your eyes!” She yells, and you release a groan.
“Hanji, how am I going to walk? Why am I closing my eyes for an art display?” You do so nonetheless, and she grabs your shoulders.
“I got’chya. Come on!” She’s guiding you the rest of the way while you cover your eyes. After walking a few more feet, she gives you the cue to open. But what you saw nearly brought you to tears.
This wasn’t just an art display. There was an arch, fairy lights glowing different shades of white, while they had wisteria to accentuate them. Beautiful white orchids and daisies to accent long strands of ivy. Near the center of the arch was Levi waiting, looking out at the ocean. He was as handsome as he always was, but he dressed himself in a nice white button down with some black jeans tonight. The sight of all of it made your eyes swell up.
And that was how he proposed. Hanji hid your friend Sasha in the bushes, wanting her to get amazing photos of it all. And when you look back at them now with him years later, you can’t help but almost feel like you’ve fallen in love all over again. Not like you could ever grow tired of him of course.
He took extra care to make sure that you understood how loved and important he was to you. After 3 years of being married, he had told you that he’d chosen to propose after your three year anniversary so you would never have a doubt about his faith or loyalty to you. He loved you so much, he knew you were going to be the one he needed for the rest of his life. He’d remind himself of that every time you came through for him.
The thought that Levi had put into your relationship with him was so meaningful to you. Sometimes you’d laugh over the way he’s speak to you and the way he’d speak to anyone else. You feel like Hanji gets the worst of it, but you know she can be much at times.
You were so thankful for the both of them. Hanji was already your maid of honor before you’d even decided anything else. She wasn’t just the reason you and Levi met, but she was also the bestest friend you’d truly ever had.
let go, i can’t let go
Sometimes, Eren creeps back into your mind. After so many years, sometimes it feel like you still have a hole in your heart. The childhood you’d spent with him, all the way up to school where you’d been in the same class every year. Prom, two graduations, moving out, college, all of it.
But then you’d remember how full your heart was when you’d found out you were pregnant. Pregnant with Levi’s baby.
You loved Levi so much. He made you feel safe, loved and protected. You may never fully heal from Eren, it feels like your childhood blanket was ripped out of your hands. But even so, the love you receive from your husband fills that grief up and scares away your demons. And in the end, it’s always going to be Levi.
Levi saved you when he’d met you, and he saves you every time you find yourself spiraling out about something that reminded you of Eren. But you always remember that Levi is good, it’s almost like he purposely tries to prove himself to you every day. Hanji says you deserve it after forgetting what real love felt like.
He never missed a beat when it came to holidays, birthdays, or special occasions. He loved to dress up with you, even if he’d complain about it the entire day. you knew he loved to match outfits with you because you eventually started to get his input on them as well. At weddings, he’d love to just hold you on the dance floor. He always shows up, even after you’d started your own family with him. He’s promised himself that he would always show up for your kids. Your oldest, your son Emile, was very much like you. Kind-hearted with tons of energy. He loved to play sports, especially soccer. Your daughter, Vydia, loved to figure skate. Levi showed up to every soccer match and every skate competition, he would always make time for his kids.
You’ll never be able to let go of Eren entirely, he’ll always take the title of first love. He took almost every first he could, and he holds a portion of your heart and remains in your memories. But Levi was the first person to pull you out. He helped make everything better, and then you fell in love with him. He was your first (and last!) fiancé and husband, which he took so much pride in. He was the first person to promise you forever, and a forever he gave.
Because the love you have for Levi, the way you feel, is much more important and serious than the childish fantasy Eren gave you. You’ve always verbally and physically told him how grateful you were, but you never felt like it was enough. And at the end of the day, every single night since you got married, you always just had to settle for;
“Thank you, Levi. I love you so much.”
so fall away is what i’ll do
it’s what i’ll do
it’s what i’ll do
it’s what i’ll do
it’s what i’ll do
it’s what i’ll do
I've been cleaning out my Google Drive lately (monumental task) and came across the beginnings of an old Attack on Titan fic I never finished — and never will. So I thought I'd post it as a oneshot 👍
This was him then. The titan child.
Monster. Threat to humanity. Deceiver. Shape-shifter. Fiend. Corporal Levi had heard a hundred names for this creature before they’d even reached the dungeon’s outer walls. It was only when they were doors away that he finally got a name.
“He’s Eren Yeager,” Erwin said. He flipped continuously through a folder so stacked the binding was beginning to creak. “Belongs to the 104th training squad. Graduated fifth in his class with no particular skills listed, though there is a note that he is, and I quote, ‘strong headed as a bull with his balls on the line.’ Nice.”
Levi snorted.
“Hmm,” Erwin continued flipping. “Hails from Shiganshina. His Mother died right after the wall was breached. An eyewitness report from a Garrison soldier says that her legs were crushed when her house collapsed, then she was eaten.” He shook his head. “Eren saw everything while they were making their escape.”
“Incompetent,” Levi muttered.
“We lost sight of him for a while, until he entered the training corps. Four years later he’s defending Trost and, hours after that, emerging from the neck of a seventeen-meter titan.” Erwin shut the folder with a snap. His face was grim in the hall’s torchlight. “Thoughts?”
“You’re the strategist. I’m just here to gut the fucker if he turns.”
“Humor me.”
Levi shrugged. “Only two options, really. Either he’s a meek little boy, hollow from his mommy’s death and still shitting himself after his first battle…”
“Or?”
The two men turned the corner, reaching the final set of stairs. Below there was a creature shackled and locked in a cage. Two MPs stood guard. One of them, a pudgy girl with a permanent sneer to her lips kept sneaking fearful glances behind her.
“Or he’s the most terrifying, manipulative thing humanity has ever seen.”
Levi made sure his voice rose all the way back to that MP. As the two men descended into the darkness he reveled in her nervous looks, the sweat beading along her brow. Let the pigs squeal. Levi knew what to expect. He had nothing to fear.
What else could this world possibly throw at him?
Nothing new Levi decided, not two minutes later as he leaned against the wall. This titan child was exactly that—a child—huddled beneath his blanket like he thought it could keep him safe from the world. Levi saw the way he kept his knees bent, just a pride’s breadth away from pulling them up against his chest and hiding there. This monster continually strained against the chains shackled to his arms (stupid then too) and his eyes flit every which way, unwilling or unable to meet their gaze. Levi would bet new gear that it was the latter.
“Tell me, Eren... what do you want?”
To get free. Maybe. Levi watched the kid’s head bow low, weighted under who knew what kind of crap. What did a half human-half monster desire anyway? Better question: would Erwin even consider giving it to him if he knew? No. Levi turned his attention to the other monster in the room, the one who could lie with a smile  and didn’t seem to have any tells. Levi admired the sharp edge of Erwin’s comfort and missed when Eren’s head shot back up.
“I want to join the recon corps,” he said. “And kill as many titans as I can.”
… From meek to bloodthirsty in the span of a breath. Interesting.
Levi took new stock of the situation and nearly cursed himself out loud, because those details suddenly didn’t seem so childish or stupid anymore. This thing was restless beneath its sheets. Not hiding, just biding its time. The strain in the muscles of its arms wasn’t foolish exertion but rather the need to keep moving, stay sharp, do something, even when stuck in captivity. It’s eyes flit to specific spots—exit, MPs, the knife in Erwin’s boot—and Levi felt an unwelcome kinship rising up in the center of his chest. He’d looked like this before, in the bowels of the underground. He could look like this again if need be.
There was similarity between them. Levi could use that.
He heard his own voice as if from far away, announcing that he’d take responsibility for this beast, he’d accept its application and, if need be, put it down like the monster it was. Yet when Levi spoke something astounding happened: the monster went back to being a boy. He saw relief and then fear flood back into those eyes and Levi had to grip the bars with all his might. It looked like intimidation, but it felt like dread.
What was this boy?
When they were done Levi and Erwin passed back through the MPs, the woman with sweat on her brow keeping secrets bobbing in her throat. They wouldn’t stay there long. By sundown she’ll have told every false friend and inept colleague about the monster who claimed to want to kill his own kind… and how Humanity’s Strongest believed him. Levi had a sudden, awful urge to slit her throat before those secrets could escape.
But that was just impractical. Messy too.
“What are you thinking?” Erwin asked him quietly.  Of course. Of course he wouldn’t be swayed just by what he’d said to the kid.
Kid?
Levi chose not to answer. Not in any way Erwin would understand anyway. “Anything else in his file?”
There was. Erwin flipped to the very back where amidst bullshit psychological evaluations there was one note scrawled in a familiar hand. Keith’s chicken scratch was an insult to sight, but at least he had something interesting to say:
Don’t underestimate this one. Bound to be fatal.
“Huh,” Levi said and shoved the folder back at Erwin.
As they left the dungeons Levi put the titan-child out of his mind… or at least he attempted to. It was still there, shifting between each thought, taunting him with possibilities he hadn’t seen since the man beside him beat his ass and then offered him a job.
This one wasn’t simple either.
Good. Humanity couldn’t survive on simple.
