grocery shopping ❀˖° olderhusband!levi x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was a warm summer day outside as you and your olderhusband!levi entered the super market.
levi loved planning, which was the main reason why you had a specific day every week when you’d go grocery shopping. it was sunday, since it felt natural to plan the next week’s meals, snacks and other stuff you needed. levi was usually the one who made the list, carefully writing every single thing down on a piece of paper. you often tried to suggest that you could just easily write them in the note app of your phone, but quite frankly, he didn’t trust mobile devices.
the piece of paper in your hand had a long list of items in it as he grabbed a cart. the air in the huge market felt cold on your bare legs, especially now since the air outside was humid.
levi was wearing a beige linen t-shirt with a pair of linen shorts while he pushed the cart around, sneaking peeks onto the list in your hands.
”okay, uh, first- onions, tomato… pomegranate? why?” you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, surprised by the unexpected fruit.
”thought i’d make pomegranate salad for lunch tomorrow. the mix of sweet pomegranate seeds and salty feta is quite delicious” he commented. you chuckled as you began to load the cart with the listed items.
”right. cutting pomegranate is messy though, isn’t it? you sure you can handle it?” you teased with a knowing smirk. levi simply huffed.
”tch. i’ll make you cut it if you keep messing with me” he warned playfully, even though you knew it was a meaningless threat. levi loved to cook, especially for you.
you strolled through the aisles, picking what ever items you needed from cleaning supplies to chicken breast. the market was pretty much filled with people, especially parents with whiny babies, everyone was probably doing their weekly grocery shopping as well. you had picked the most awful time for your visit, since it was obviously the rush hour.
you looked down at the paper again, noticing the note ’food for petra’ next on the list. to your surprise, there was a mindless doodle of a cat’s face drawn next to it, as well. your husband was just adorable.
levi looked over at the cat food aisle’s options, a thoughtful hand rubbing his shaved chin. he reached for the top shelf on his tiptoes and grabbed a can of food.
he squinted his eyes to read the text. ”extra meaty” he said. ”should we take this? she loves meat and fish”
you grabbed the can and inspected the ingredients with a careful eye, before you shook your head.
”no, it doesn’t have enough veggies in it. pick something with more fiber”
levi picked another can, which had the text ’high fiber’ on the side. it was a better option, since it had both good protein and fiber sources in it. he placed a few more cans in the cart before you moved on.
as you walked by the small beauty section of the market, you couldn’t help but glance at levi. to your surprise, he was already looking at you with a side eye, clearly knowing that you’d want to stop by to look over what ever makeup or beauty products there was.
”we can walk through it, if you want”
you snickered, amused by the fact the man could read you so easily. you also respected the fact levi had patience with you and your interests. you often liked to check the newest make up brands or clothes or even plushies if you felt like it, but didn’t necessarily mean you’d be buying anything. even if levi was a man who enjoyed a schedule, a clear and specific way to do things, he didn’t mind standing by you as you curiously tried different shades of lip liners on the back of your hand.
”hmm, i don’t know, this feels like it’ll disappear in a second” you sighed as you brushed off a certain color from your hand, noticing how easily it dusted off. levi stood next to you arms crossed, his eyes looking at your hand as well.
”well, get the more expensive one. it’s the same shade, after all” he suggested, pointing at the other line next to the faded one, where you had tried the more expensive product. you turned your head to him, a surprised look on your face.
”it’s too expensive, levi. i’m not sure if i want it that bad” you argued back, even though you internally longed for that specific shade.
”tch. i’ll buy it, doll. it would suit you” he grumbled and took a fresh package, throwing it into the cart without question.
”levi!” you gasped. ”you don’t have to”
”no, i don’t. but i want to” he said with his usual stoicism, yet there was a genuinely soft look in his eyes as he looked over your face.
you sighed in defeat but smiled, knowing he was speaking the truth. levi would never do things he genuinely didn’t want to do – even for you. that was what made your relationship so healthy. you both had boundaries and you both respected them.
”thank you, levi”
you walked through the last aisle, which mostly contained freezers. you loaded the cart with a few packages of frozen vegetables, falael and some ice cream. you also bought frozen, ready-to-grill patties, because you were planning to host another grill night next weekend. erwin and hange would be coming and they'd also meet petra for the first time, so it was an occasion you were eagerly waiting for.
at the cash, you both unloaded the cart while the cashier grumpily beeped them and began to pack your items. levi grabbed his wallet from the pocket of his shorts, and for a moment you were distracted by his unnecessarily perfect nose and side profile. his forearm flexed a little as he grabbed his credit card, the beige linen fabric neatly straightened for this shopping trip. levi looked so youthful for someone his age, even though he definitely had the wisdom and respect of an older man.
after you left the market, you had one more thing unmarked on the list – tea. you’d have to make a stop at levi’s favorite tea shop.
more olderhusband!levi here .ᐟ

Jealousy Jealousy
Levi Ackerman x Reader
Based on the song "Jealousy Jealousy" by Olivia Rodrigo.
PART 2 : Scars
PART 3 : I chose you
Warnings: insecurities, angst, sad, small fluff, reader loses her friend because of a new girl named Natasha (sorry if that's your name), unrequited love, mention of death and sacrificing yourself for Humanity's sake. Sad angsty ending but I'll do a part 2 if you want.
Reader insert, no reference to reader's body so it can be seen as female, gender neutral and male reader
"All your friends are so cool, you go out every night In your daddy's nice car, yeah, you're living the life Got a pretty face, a pretty boyfriend too I wanna be you so bad, and I don't even know you"
Tumblr media
“Y/n?”
“Earth to Y/n?”
“Y/NNNN!” Hange yelled, pulling you out of your daydream.
“Sh!t sorry. I zoned out, again.” You explained yourself, trying to look anywhere but in your friend’s eyes.
“It’s what you’ve been doing this whole week. Just ask him out already!” She whisper-yelled.
“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” You replied stubbornly.
“C’mon Y/n, you’ve liked him since you first met him! If you don’t tell him how you feel now, you may never get the chance to!” Petra added.
“Thanks a lot you guys…” You said, slumping back in your seat lazily. How were you supposed to tell him, your Captain, Humanity’s Strongest Soldier, The Levi Ackerman, you were in love with him and had been for years now. You’d probably just make it weird and ruin your friendship with him, because no way in hell did he reciprocate your feelings.
“You know what? If you’re not going to tell him, I will!” Hange said resolute and determined to end your suffering. She had been your best friend since you’d graduated from being simple Cadets and knew better than anyone how much you were actually worth though also how much you thought lowly of yourself because of your insecurities and negative thoughts.
“WHAT?! NO!” You didn’t notice you’d raised your voice until you realized everyone was staring at you.
Your face became beet red as you waved it off with a small “Don’t worry, everything’s fine. We’re all fine.” Successfully getting everyone to go back to what they were previously doing.
“I wasn’t lying before, I’ll tell him if you don’t.” She went back to whispering, drawing your attention back to the stressful topic.
“Okay, okay fine. I’ll tell him! I just, need to get us a moment together, the perfect moment. I’ll think about it tomorrow, when I go to my parents’ house.”
Your friends, including Mike, Oluo, Eld and Gunther, high-fived each other victoriously, but were quick to act nonchalant as soon as they saw their Captain approaching you.
“What’s happening? I heard some commotion coming from here just minutes ago.” He asked, eyeing you all with his usual scowl.
Suddenly, your shoes became a very interesting view as Hange quickly answered: “Don’t worry Captain. Nothing happened! Y/n here was just…telling us about a few hand-to-hand combat techniques and discussing them with the team.”
He glanced at your petrified form questioningly, but swiftly came to the decision it was not an important matter.
“Anyways, I wanted to tell you, tomorrow a new member will be joining the Levi Squad, I want you all to welcome her but most importantly make sure to get along with her.” He continued.
You and the rest of the team stared at each other with a shocked expression on your face, though Petra was the first to speak up: “You referred to the new member with a her, so I suppose she’s a girl. Who is she?”
“Yeah, and when will we meet her?” Eld chimed in.
“Her name is Natasha and you’ll all meet her tomorrow morning at training, the rest, you can ask her for yourself.” He answered before retreating back to his office to finish writing the last papers before going to bed.
“Well, that’s new…” Eld said.
“Who even is she? I mean, she must be great with her skills and everything if Levi accepted her in our team.” Oluo said.
“I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. You don’t know anything about this, do you Hange?” Gunther sighed, running a hand through his neatly combed hair.
“I’m just as surprised as you are. How about you Mike?” The scientist returned the question to the silent blonde.
“Don’t look at me! I know about this just as much as you do.” He raised his hands in the air defensively.
“So she’s suddenly joining the team, nobody knows about her and Levi promptly refuses to tell us anything. She sure was able to become the center of attention before even coming.” Erd said.
“Hey Y/n, you okay?” Hange questioned you.
You had zoned out again…This Natasha girl sounded quite mysterious, but most of all, you weren’t accustomed to Levi’s eyes subtly lighting up when he talked about someone.
“Yeah, yeah don’t worry. I’m just tired, that’s all. In fact, I think I’mma head to bed, anybody coming with?” You got up from your seat lazily.
“Nah. I still have a few hours left to enjoy in me. See you in two days, right?” Gunther replied for everyone.
“Yeah.” You walked alone to your bedroom as unanswered questions swirled through your mind, mostly regarding Natasha and Levi. You pushed them down though, because they surely weren’t gonna ruin your free day with your parents.
The next day you woke up early and headed to town, where your parents owned a bakery. Your family’s apartment was right over it and you could still recall how much you used to help your parents when they were at work, sometimes getting scolded for not wanting to go to bed. You didn’t spend as much time there now, but Levi usually left you a few free days per month to visit your parents, and you sometimes also brought the rest of your team with you to have a hearty meal by the fireplace.
As always, your parents were marveled to see you and the day flew by too quickly. In the blink o an eye, you were back at the Scout’s, going to bed earlier than usual because of the tiredness caused by all the riding.
The next day, you were woken up by a ray of sunshine seeping through your window and illuminating the room.
You saw your companion Petra soundly sleeping on the bed on the other side of the room, so you dressed yourself without making any noise and walked your way to the stables.
“Hello Grass Goblin!” You saluted your hooved friend smirking happily. Her real name was Lily, in honor of the beautiful flowers you put in her hair when you braided it, but you’d had her for so much time you had become besties to the point the nickname rolled off your tongue more naturally than her real name.
You brought your horse out for a ride, fed her and combed her hair into a beautiful braid with a few flowers tucked in between.
Before you’d realized, it wast time for you to go to training, which meant you’d finally get to meet this mysterious Natasha.
You were sure you had arrived on time, nonetheless, the moment you stepped into the training area you found your team, Levi and an unfamiliar blondie chatting loudly and carelessly, as if they had been friends since forever.
To say this whole situation weirded you out was an understatement: your teammates had taken days or even months to warm up to you, and if Levi talked to you now it was only thanks to the years of hard work and missions done for and with him. Nonetheless, they had become best friends with this new chick in what, a day and a half? From where you stood, you could also see Levi smiling. Okay, what? Like, you didn’t even think the word “smile” existed in his vocabulary and suddenly he was there, grinning ear to ear in the face of this new kid?!
You approached the laughing group in a matter of minutes with a weird: “Hey guys!”
The moment they saw you, they all shut up and stopped laughing, turning to look at their shoes or share strange looks with each other.
You shrugged it off: focusing on this situation wouldn’t bring you any good and you still had to figure out a way to talk to Levi about your feelings.
Levi spoke up: “So, for today’s training we’ll divide the team into pairs and do some exercises in the woods. Form the pairs and go grab your horses, we’ll meet there in 10. Oh, and Gunther, you’re coming with me.”
Gunther visibly slumped, shoulders dropping as he prepared himself mentally for hours of scoldings and glares from his Captain.
As soon as Levi was out of range, you hit Gunther lightly in the shoulder, telling him ironically: “C’mon man, wasn’t it your dream to work with the Levi Ackerman?”
“Yeah, until I actually started working with him! He scolds me so much I wouldn’t be surprised if he got angry with me because of my favorite color.”
“What’s your favorite color?” You asked him, heading to the stables once again.
“Blue, yours?”
“Don’t really have one. I like all bright colors equally, though it depends on the day.”
“You know what? I ain’t even gonna ask you questions. Learned my lesson over the years.” He laughed, departing to go get his horse.
Oluo and Erd had formed a pair, and you saw Petra chatting with Anastasia on the other side of the stables, so you went to ask her: “Hi Anastasia! Hi Petra! Would you like to be in pair with me for the exercises?”
“Sorry Y/n, I’m already with Anastasia and we can’t be in three…” She tried to explain herself.
“Because…?” What was up with her? Levi always let you form groups of three with another teammate whenever someone was missing.
“Because we can’t, okay? Stop asking dumb questions!” She basically hissed at you, annoyed.
Okay, what was happening? You’re away for what, a night and a couple of hours and they all hate you out of the blue? You watched as the two girls got on their horses, giggling like two teenage girls and rode off, not even bothering to wait for you.
A wave of sadness washed over you, and you could feel tears welling up in your eyes, yet you took all your strong will and pushed them back, not wanting to show the vulnerable side of you for idiotic situations like this. You had always been very emotional, and nobody before your team and Hange had ever gone out of their way to help you or talk to you. When you’d joined the Cadets you were pretty much of a loner, but Hange had managed to get you out of your shell and you’d learned how to make friends, eventually leading to you befriending the infamous ‘Levi Squad’.
However, you were probably overthinking it all, as usual. Your friends wouldn’t possibly leave you just like this, with no warning or reason whatsoever, right?
You headed to the woods’ entrance, were the rest of your team was awaiting you.
“So, are all the pairs formed?” Levi asked.
“Yeah” Everybody answered, except for you, though he didn’t notice it and went off to explain the exercises to everyone.
The training had been agonizingly long and painful and, as soon as sundown approached, you were all eager to get off your horses, eat something and skedaddle to bed as quickly as possible.
“Hey guys, how about we all have dinner together?” You suggested.
“Sorry Y/n, but me and Natasha wanted to eat together and then chat for a bit.” Petra apologized.
“No can do, me and the boys are going in town. Sorry.” Erd answered.
“Oh…Okay. That’s fine, it’s absolutely fine. I-I mean, it’s not like we don’t already see each other every day right?” You said awkwardly.
Petra offered you an apologetic smile and then went off with her new friend, the boys getting their horses to the stables.
You didn’t exactly know what you would do that night, but perhaps you could wait for Hange to finish her shift at the Lab and have dinner with her.
After hours spent wandering around the huge building, it was finally the time of the end of her shift, so you ran to her study eager to tell her about your day and hear about hers, as you did almost every night.
“Hangeeeee!!!” You exclaimed, barging into her room with a big smile plastered on your face, excitement etched all over your features.
“Hey Y/n!” She responded. There was something off about the way she was acting, and you’d noticed how she was way less happy to see you than usual, so you decided to investigate: “What’s up with you today?”
“Listen Y/n, I’m truly sorry. I know you’ve been waiting for me to finish this job for hours so we could eat together, but I already had something planned tonight and I really don’t want to miss it. You wouldn’t mind if we skipped today’s daily catch up, right?” She pleaded.
You were taken aback, what has happening? You’re absent for a day and suddenly nobody can eat or spend time with you?
“So…?” She asked again, seeing as you’d zoned out.
“Y-yeah yeah, ’s fine don’t worry.” You gave her a tight lipped smile, shutting the door behind you and going outside on a walk to clear your mind.
The next few days were spent like this, everyone seemingly avoiding your presence. Hange had started having more and more plans at dinner so you never actually got to talk, and the rest of your team were just ignoring you, making up fake excuses in order to not spend time with you. However, you’d noticed how they always regrouped with Natasha. One day, you decided you wanted to get to know this new girl, and with only good intentions in your heart, you approached her while she chatted with Petra and Hange. What you didn’t expect, however, was the side eye she gave you, chuckling under her breath and asking: “Who’re you?”
“I’m Y/n, one of your teammates.” You answered.
“Really? Didn’t think Levi would ever choose a comrade so ugly and annoying.” She continued, though facing your two ex-friends now: “C’mon girls. Have you ever seen her actually do anything? She spends all the training just drooling at our Captain.”
You looked at her in utter confusion, turning to your friends as Hange grabbed your wrist and dragged you away from the pathetic blondie.
“Who the fuck does she think she is?” You hissed.
“Hey Y/n, calm down, you’re overreacting. I swear she’s nice, you just need to get used to her.”
“So what, you’re like defending her now?” You scoffed, not wanting to believe your best friend of a lifetime was turning against you.
“Why? Can’t I? She’s my friend.” Hange replied.
“You’re my friend too!” You spat back.
She didn’t say anything, so you took that as your cue to leave.
You locked yourself in your room and didn’t get out for hours, crying and sobbing because it suddenly felt like you were unwanted and unloved, just like the first time you’d come here.
You needed some fresh air, so you decided to head out for a ride with Lily. Just as you got out of the building, you heard some loud chatter and a faint smell of marshmallows coming from the other side of the building.
You followed the noise, realizing it came from the porch were you usually ate dinner around a fire with your friends, before the whole Natasha-thing happened.
You hid behind a pillar, recognizing all your friends’ voices, trying to recompose yourself in order to go see what all this was about without letting your troubled side show.
The first thing you saw were your friends in a circle, rounded around a fire, roasting marshmallow on wooden sticks. The next thing, though, is what hurt you the most: Natasha was sitting on a boy’s lap, kissing him passionately, her marshmallow long forgotten on the ground. As they separated themselves to catch their breath, giggling like high schoolers, you recognized your Captain and love of a lifetime as the one who was kissing her. He was looking at her so affectionately, completely focused on her and with a love sick look in his eyes you’d never seen him with.
Is this what your friends had been doing every night behind your back?
Tears streaming down your face, you stomped in the area, all your friends suddenly noticing your presence as the chatter ended in a matter of seconds.
Nobody dared to look at your fiery eyes, opting to look at the ground instead.
“What is this?” You broke the silence, venom in your words.
Hange was the first one to get up, trying to get your wrist like she always did when she wanted you to calm down. “Y/n please.”
“Oh don’t you Y/n me! You hung out together, leaving me out  for all this time, not even once thinking about asking me to join, when I’ve been inviting you to eat together every single day.” You said, words latched with anger.
“We can explain, please Y/n!” She pleaded you, but you slapped her hand off of you, repelled by her.
“No, we don’t need to explain ourselves to her, do we guys?” Natasha had rose up to her feet, facing you with a smug smirk.
“She’s right Y/n. Can’t we have other friends? Or do we have to spend every second of our lives with you?” Petra argued, going to stand by her new friend.
“Spend every…What the heck you guys? I’m away for one day and you all suddenly hate me?” You were trying as hard as you could to not let your emotions get in the way, but it was noticeable how your voice had cracked mid-sentence.
“We don’t hate you Y/n. We’re just tired…” Gunther answered lazily, not tearing his gaze away from his half burnt marshmallow.
“Of what Gunther? Tired of what?”
“Of you Y/n! Don’t you understand? They’re all sick of you trying to always be the center of attention, you’re useless and you act so childishly and god, you’re so damn emotional!” Natasha said.
You simply stared at them, tears pooling in your eyes and body trembling as your mind wasn’t able to register what was happening. All your greatest fears were coming to life: your friends had turned their back on you and hated you with all their guts. They’d eventually leave you and you’d become the same lonely loser you always had been.
“We’re sorry we had to break it to you this way, but she’s right, Y/n. We’re tired of you.” Erd finally spoke up, his voice lacking the usual warmth you once found comfort in.
It felt like the air had been sucked out of the room. Your chest tightened, a suffocating weight pressing down on you. Their words rang in your ears, over and over again, slicing through you like a thousand tiny blades.
Your lips parted, but no words came out—just a sharp inhale, like a drowning person gasping for breath. Your fingers clenched into fists at your sides, trying to steady yourself, but it was pointless. The trembling wouldn’t stop.
Then, your eyes found him.
Levi stood there, arms crossed, his usual unreadable expression in place. He hadn't spoken, hadn’t even looked at you properly. But what shattered you completely was what he didn’t do—he didn’t defend you. Not once.
Because he didn’t care.
Not about you. Not like you had hoped.
Not like he did for her.
Natasha was standing close to him, too close, her hand brushing against his arm as she smirked at you, victorious. And Levi let it happen. He let her claim him, let her act like she belonged by his side.
A choked sob escaped before you could stop it. You felt the tears spill over, warm against your cheeks as your body moved on its own.
You ran.You pushed past them, ignoring Hange’s desperate call of your name, ignoring the sting of their words echoing in your mind.
Your feet carried you blindly through the hallways of the barracks, past flickering candlelight and empty corridors, until you reached the safety of your dorm.
Slamming the door shut behind you, you collapsed onto your bed, burying your face in your pillow as the sobs wracked your body.
You had never felt more alone.
You had lost them.
And worst of all… you had lost him.
The next day you woke up with a throbbing headache, eyes puffy from all the crying and snot filling your nostrils.
You sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the ground, your heart heavy and tight. You could hear their voices outside your room—Levi and Natasha laughing, talking easily. Your stomach twisted.
The sound of it was enough to send you spiraling into a pit of self-doubt.
You’d spent so much time pushing those feelings down. Trying to convince yourself you were strong, that you weren’t someone to get lost in jealousy, but now, it was impossible to ignore.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to shut out the thoughts that swirled in your mind. Natasha was everything you weren’t. Beautiful. Confident. Easy to talk to. And Levi... Levi always looked at her like she was perfect. You could see it, even when Natasha wasn’t around. It was the way he smiled when she walked into a room, the way his gaze lingered just a little too long.
He’d never look at you like that.
Your fingers ran through your hair, the weight of the realization sinking in. The truth you refused to see until now was clear. Levi would never love you the way he loved Natasha. He wouldn’t even have to think twice about it. Natasha had everything—beauty, grace, strength. All you had were scars, insecurities, and the weight of your own broken heart.
You’d never been able to see yourself the way Levi saw you, and now... now you didn’t know how to make him see you differently. You weren’t enough. You were never going to be enough.
Your breath hitched as you looked in the mirror. Your reflection was a stranger—a girl who had tried so hard to fit in, to pretend she was something she wasn’t, to make herself worthy of the things she could never have. You weren’t Natasha. You’d never be Natasha.
Your fingers brushed the scars that marked your skin—physical reminders of all the things you’d lost, all the parts of yourself you could never get back.
And then there was Levi.
You knew you could never ask him to choose you over Natasha. Natasha was everything you weren’t. She had beauty that drew people in, confidence that made everyone love her. You didn’t have that. You were just... ordinary, bruised, broken.
"He doesn’t love me," you whispered under your breath, your voice barely audible. "He loves her.”
A bitter laugh escaped your lips, and you hated yourself for feeling this way, for being so weak, for letting your insecurities get the best of you. But it was undeniable. Every time you saw the way Levi looked at Natasha, you couldn’t help but feel like you were competing with a version of yourself you could never reach.
Your heart felt like it was cracking. Maybe you’d fooled yourself into thinking he could love you.
Maybe he did, but he would always love Natasha more.
Your chest tightened, the tears starting to blur your vision. You wiped them away angrily.
No, you couldn’t be this girl. You couldn’t let jealousy take over. But the truth was clear now. Levi would never see you the way you wanted him to.
With an agonizingly slow pace, you got ready for today’s mission: you and the rest of the Levi Squad were going to head out of the Walls. You couldn’t leave now, not when the formation included you as a spotter for Titans, but perhaps you could free them of your presence after the mission.
You didn’t go to breakfast, stomach closed and eating having become only a small problem at the end of the list of the things you had to fix, or end, in this case.
With an empty look in your eyes, you headed to the stables, finding your teammates also getting ready for the mission.
They were silent, though for once, you didn’t want to break the silence. You started to realize how much it was valuable: it wasn’t something you needed to fill anymore, but something that filled you.
You sensed their apologetic looks, Natasha’s victorious smile and Levi’s usual cold yet troubled gaze, but you kept your eyes trained on the ground in front of you, or on the surrounding land once you were out of the walls.
As you were returning after a long day of scouting, a group of Titans approached you, running at an insane speed.
“They’re catching up on us!” Petra exclaimed, terror filling the senses of you all.
“What do we have to do Levi?” Natasha asked her new boyfriend.
“We have to keep riding, let’s hope we can reach the walls in time.” He replied.
“We’re never gonna make, they’re running way faster than usual!” Erd said.
“The Captain told us to keep riding, so shut up and do what you’ve been ordered to!” Gunther scolded you, putting everyone back in position.
Suddenly, the Walls came into view: you’d made it, you were going to live!
Your hope was quick to die however, as you looked back and saw the Titans at barely miles apart. They would have reached you before you could make it back.
You were all going to die! You had to do something!
You took a long breath, a peaceful smile appearing on your face.
“Why are you smiling? We’re going to die!” Petra asked you, worried.
“No you’re not. You’re not going to die today…” You’d made your decision, yet deep down, you’d always known. You loved your friends and cared about them too deeply to let them die at the hands of such monstrous creatures. Even though they had all been little sh!ts to you in the past few days, they were all the most loving and caring souls one could find inside the walls. Without looking back, they’d offered their lives, sacrificing their future for a greater good, in order to save Humanity, even though nobody was there to save them. They were skilled warriors and Humanity would already have been destroyed it it weren’t for their work. They were far more valuable than you were, and Humanity couldn’t lose them. You would rather have them and your parents alive but sad, than everybody dead because you didn’t have the courage to do what needed to be done.
“Just know that, I love you guys, and I’ll always carry you in my heart, no matter what you’ve done or said. Oh, and tell my parents I love them too, alright?” You continued your last speech, realization dawning over your friends as they looked back at you in horror.
Too late did they start yelling your name, for you’d already slowed down your horse to a walk, turning to face the group of beasts.
“Keep riding! She’s saving us! Don’t let her sacrifice be in vain.” Levi yelled, urging his horse and companions forward, closer to the walls and further from their friend.
You watched as they disappeared from your view, nothing but little black dots in a sea of green, a few tears trailing down your chin.
This was it, the end. If you’d known you would’ve died so soon, you probably would’ve hugged your parents tighter that day, but it was too late to regret your choices now. Your time had arrived, you may be forgotten, but you would have done your job to keep humanity safe for a bit longer. A determined look fell on your face, as you turned around to face the Titans. You were going to die, you were sure of it, but you sure as heck weren’t going down without a fight!

Kindergarden love
Tumblr media
Sumarry: Falling in love with a kindergarten teacher after a divorce from his wife, Levi thinks deeply about if ever he can reciprocate this feeling and is afraid you wouldn't like him just as much as he does, and yet you somehow have mixed feelings about him. After all, a divorced man shouldn't fall in love, and yet he can't help it.

"I assure you, Mr. Ackerman, your son will be safe as always under my watch. He’s a good boy and behaves well; he’s already made some lovely friends in class." You smile reassuringly at Levi as his son, Elijah, enters the bright, colorful classroom. The sight of him running toward his friends at the table brings warmth to your heart—a daily reminder of why you chose to work in kindergarten.
"I know, I know, it's just..." Levi pauses, running a hand through his hair, his face clouded with worry. He leans in slightly, lowering his voice as he quietly says your last name, almost like he’s confiding in you. "I’m worried about him. This divorce has really affected him, and I can't shake the feeling that it's my fault."
Levi sighs heavily, his eyes reflecting a mix of regret and concern. "I wish I could just take away all the stress and hurt he's been feeling." You nod, understanding the weight of his words. It’s never easy navigating such turbulent waters as a parent, especially when a child’s emotional well-being is at stake. You place a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t worry, I’m always here for you. If anything’s bothering you, please feel free to talk to me anytime.” Levi nodded slowly at your words, the tension in his shoulders easing just a touch. He stepped back, waved briefly, and then turned to enter his car, the engine rumbling to life as he drove away.
You closed the door behind you, taking a moment to breathe in the lively atmosphere of the kindergarten. The sizable room was filled with the joyful sounds of children laughing and playing with their friends. It was still early—the class wouldn’t start until 8 a.m.—so you welcomed the delightful chaos, letting them indulge in their energetic play.
“Levi always has eyes for you,” chirped Petra, her voice bright and teasing as she skipped over to you, hands clasped playfully behind her back. Her smile was infectious, and you couldn't help but grin back at her. “Ever since he started bringing his son here, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off you! I swear, even when your back is turned, he’s still watching you. He’s completely smitten!”
"Oh, come on! He’s just staring because he might have something on his mind," you said, trying to play it cool, but Petra wasn't convinced. The tension in the air made it clear that you both were undeniably smitten with each other, and she wasn’t about to let you brush it off.
"Nonsense! I’m not buying your excuses, and trust me, I know what I’m talking about!" She grabbed your shoulders and shook you lightly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “He’s in love with you! Have you ever considered that a divorced man might be falling for you, especially after enduring such a painful breakup? He’s looking for a chance to love again!”
You grimaced at the thought, your mind racing with the implications. "It just feels too soon for him to jump into another relationship. Besides, I might just be a temporary distraction to fill his void. I honestly don’t think Levi is ready to move on. He has a son to care for!”
Petra rolled her eyes and let out a playful “tut-tut” sound, shaking her head in disbelief. “You’re missing the obvious! Just look into his eyes! There’s a spark there—he’s ready to open his heart again. And what about his son? Have you seen how he looks at you? It’s as if you’re not just a teacher to him but a mother figure. He admires you more than his actual mother!”
You felt a wave of conflicting emotions wash over you as you considered Petra’s words.
"I don’t think so, Petra." You shrugged, feeling a bit uneasy about the whole situation. "His son might just be looking for a mother figure to admire. It’s not really a big deal, is it?"
Petra pouted slightly, her frustration evident as she rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated scoff. Getting more animated, she shook you again, her voice softening as she tried to offer you comfort. "Come on, don’t doubt yourself so much! What if this is your chance to finally score? You’ve never been in a relationship, right? Maybe this could be something truly special!"
She sighed and leaned in closer, her gaze steady as she said your name gently. "Look, I know Levi’s been through a rough patch, but maybe it's time to have hope again. I mean, all of us have noticed how you two share those long, fleeting glances before looking away. It’s like the universe is giving us a sign! How has our little ship not sailed yet?"
A grin crept onto your face at the thought. The idea of the entire community secretly shipping you and Levi was both amusing and surprising.
"Ship us? That’s ridiculous!" you protested, pulling away from her teasing grasp. "There’s no way! Levi would probably be uncomfortable with that idea."
"No, he wouldn’t," came Oluo's voice from across the room, cutting in as he intervened in the squabble between Eren and Jean. The two kindergartners were always up to something, causing chaos wherever they went. “Every time he hears it, he gets this troubled look on his face like he’s trying to suppress his true feelings.”
You looked up at Oluo, your heart racing a little at the implications of his words. Maybe there was more to Levi's reactions than you had initially thought.
Oh this is ridiculous!
You shake your head, trying to banish the unsettling thought that had crept into your mind. It’s almost laughable to imagine Levi being in love with you, especially after just having gone through a divorce. The weight of that reality sits heavily in your chest.
He's just using you as a temporary distraction, a way to trick himself into believing he’s moving on.
Your spiraling thoughts are abruptly interrupted by a loud, agonized scream from Oluo. You turn to see him doubled over, clutching his mouth where his tongue has been bitten off in the chaos of a fight that had erupted between Eren and Jean. Blood oozes between his fingers as he winces in pain, and the two troublemakers continue to exchange reckless punches, lost in their own world of brawling hatred.
Petra, worried and concern, rushes in to help Oluo, this is going to be a long day ahead.
——————
Levi sat in his car, fidgeting nervously in his seat as he stared at the message on his phone. The sunlight seeped through the windshield, casting a warm glow on his anxious expression. He was wrestling with the dilemma of whether or not to ask you out on a date. The idea of it filled him with both excitement and apprehension. He wanted to make it feel natural, to express his feelings without coming off as awkward.
Fortunately, the parking lot was empty, granting him a little privacy as he contemplated his next move. It was his day off, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to gather the courage to take the leap.
Ever since that day, he brought his son to your kindergarten, Levi found himself drawn to you. You had been a source of comfort and support for him, always reassuring him with your warm demeanor and encouraging words. Your exchanges—filled with playful banter and genuine concern—had become the highlight of his day, whether it was through the quick messages during nap time or the thoughtful updates you shared about his son.
When you gave him your phone number, he felt a surge of hope. It wasn't just about keeping in touch with his son; it was also an invitation to deepen the connection he felt with you. Those daily chats turned into something more meaningful than he had anticipated. As he thought about you, he realized that his feelings had grown into something resembling love. Now, he just needed to find the right moment to express it, hoping that you felt something similar too.
Ever since Levi divorced his wife, the painful memories of their tumultuous relationship linger in his mind like shadows that refuse to fade. Her betrayal, marked by infidelity and a barrage of verbal and even physical confrontations, left deep scars on his heart. The most heartbreaking aspect was witnessing his young son caught in the crossfire, helplessly observing the daily fights that erupted between his parents. Levi still remembers the painful image of his son retreating to his room, tears streaming down his innocent face, questioning why his mother and father couldn't find a way to love each other instead of hurt.
The emotional toll of the divorce weighed heavily on Levi, driving him into a spiral of despair. It hurt so much that he knew he had to seek therapy—he needed to heal, not just for himself, but for his son, who depended on him as a single father. After the divorce, his wife severed all ties, leaving him to shoulder the burdens of parenthood alone, including the financial responsibilities of child support that she neglected.
A decade of marriage had turned into a painful chapter of his life that seemed wasted, leaving him feeling lost and defeated. He fought through dark days when he felt he might give up entirely, but just when he thought he couldn’t take anymore, he met you.
You entered his life like a gentle light in the darkness. Unlike his past, your kindness and caring nature provided him solace. You understood his pain instinctively and were always there for him, even during the times he withdrew, ghosting you in moments of struggle. Yet, you continued to check on him, demonstrating patience and compassion that he never expected and deeply appreciated.
Those fleeting moments when you two locked eyes brought a warmth to his heart that he hadn’t felt in years. He found your shyness endearing, how you looked away quickly when he caught your gaze; it made him smile and feel something he thought was lost forever. Despite the weight of being a divorced man, he couldn’t help but fall for you, an unexpected yet beautiful realization in his life.
You saved him from his darkest moments, and words couldn't fully express his gratitude. The healing you brought into his life was immeasurable, and for that, he was eternally thankful.
With a heavy heart, he found himself clicking "delete" on the message he had felt so compelled to send. The words he had carefully crafted seemed to vanish in an instant, but the longing to ask you out in real life remained steadfast in his mind. Nerves fluttered in his stomach, and a wave of anxiety washed over him, but deep down, he clung to his hope like a lifeline.
————————
As the school bell rang, the classroom door swung open, and a wave of exuberant children poured out, their laughter echoing through the halls. Parents rushed in, scanning the sea of familiar faces to find their little ones, eager to embrace them after a long day. Meanwhile, you took a moment to survey the scene before turning back to the task at hand—organizing the classroom and tidying up after a fulfilling day of teaching.
With a slight sigh, you began gathering the scattered papers and art supplies, grateful for the help of Petra and Oluo, who chatted amiably as they tackled similar chores. Outside, Gunther and Eld were responsible for cleaning the playground, their playful banter mingling with the sounds of children. You smiled despite your fatigue; witnessing the joy on your students' faces made every bit of effort worthwhile. Each child seemed to find comfort and inspiration in your lessons, forging a unique bond that you cherished.
As your eyes scanned the now-empty classroom, you noticed one child still lingering by the front door, Elajah looking small and vulnerable. He often sat there, waiting patiently for his father, a habit that tugged at your heartstrings.
Setting your broom down beside Petra's, you walked over to him and knelt beside the little boy. "He'll pick you up soon," you reassured him gently.
Elajah nodded, but his expression was clouded with worry. He clutched his backpack tightly, his small fingers gripping the fabric as if it were a lifeline. With a tentative voice, he murmured, "I don’t want to see Papa sad anymore. He’s been rough, and he’s always tired. I see him not taking care of himself."
Your heart ached at his words. You pulled him into a comforting hug, feeling the weight of his fears. "It’s okay, kiddo. Your Papa is going through a tough time, but he will take care of himself someday. Sometimes, we all hit rough patches." you whispered, hoping to soothe his troubled thoughts.
He nodded, pressing his head against your chest. You could feel the warmth of tiny tears soaking through your shirt as he sniffled softly. This was a familiar scene—Elajah often let his emotions spill when he awaited his father, his young heart burdened by the echoes of his parents' fights and the harsh words that still haunted him. You wished there was more you could do to help him navigate through such a heavy load at such a tender age.
He pulled away, wiping his tears with his chubby cheeks, and nodded earnestly. His large, innocent eyes met yours, and he offered a small smile, showcasing his gapped front teeth. Elijah had inherited so many of Levi's features, and you couldn’t help but smile back at the little boy. "Thank you for always being with me. I’m sorry I cried so much, Teacher." he said, his voice quivering slightly.
You chuckled softly and shook your head, trying to reassure him. “It’s perfectly fine, Elijah. You can always express how you feel.” Just as you were comforting him, the sound of a car pulling up interrupted your moment. You glanced over to see Levi stepping out of his vehicle.
The transition was immediate; Elijah hugged you tightly for a brief moment before dashing toward his father. Levi knelt down to embrace his son, their connection palpable even from a distance. However, as he straightened up and walked towards you, your gaze sharpened on Levi's troubled expression. He was scratching his nape, his eyes cast downward in a way that signaled distress.
Your heart raced with concern. “Mr. Ackerman, are you alright?” you asked, your voice laced with worry. He shook his head slowly, keeping his gaze lowered as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
"No, there’s nothing wrong, I—" Levi hesitated, his lips pressing together as he took a long sigh. He closed his eyes for a moment, collecting his thoughts, before saying your name softly, which sent a flutter through your chest.
When he finally looked up at you, there was a vulnerability in his eyes that took you by surprise.
“Would you like to go on a date with me?” he asked, the words tumbling out, each syllable heavy with meaning.
Your heart skipped a beat, and heat rushed to your face as you momentarily lost your breath. All your worries and anxious thoughts about him crumbled away in that instant. His words weren't just casual; they were genuine and heartfelt.
Petra and the others had been right—he was indeed smitten with you, and there you were, obliviously caught in a whirlwind of emotions.
"I would love that, Mr. Ackerman," you replied softly, your voice almost a whisper. A small smile spread across Levi's face.
"Please, just Levi," he corrected, waving his hand dismissively but with a playful glint in his eyes.
Just then, Levi shifted his head to glance over your shoulder, and when you turned around, you were met with the sight of Petra, Oluo, Gunther, and Eld, clapping and cheering in unison. They had been observing your interaction from a distance, and you hadn’t even noticed!
“Wait, ho—hold on!" you stammered, still processing the surprise.
“Mr. Ackerman knew we gathered behind your back and watched you both. He didn't tell you!" Petra giggled, placing a hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter.
You shot Levi an incredulous look, but he simply let out a small chuckle, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes.
Oh, this man.

To love someone (Levi Ackerman x Reader) Modern AU
Author's note: I did it again. I wrote something no one asked me to and for a fandom most people don't even know I am a part of. So, if you want to, please enjoy this one-shot.
Summary: Petra asks you for a small favor. So now, you have to convince your husband to do something he most definitely will try to avoid. However, your interaction sparks interest in how you are not afraid to ask Levi for things that you know he doesn't like. But he loves you more, and both of you know it.
Words counting: 1942
You were grading tests when you saw Petra leaving her seat and coming towards your desk, but when you raised your head, she was going to the coffee machine. You didn’t have enough time to question her actions and went back to grading. The class was your husband’s and you knew that you had to finish it before he finished his lesson, otherwise, he would stay near you, commenting on every mistake his kids made. However, Petra had other intentions and a coffee put on your desk stopped you in the middle of Sasha’s sentence. You could have ignored your colleague if it was Mikasa’s test, or Armin’s, or Annie’s, because they were easy to understand. However, Sasha… She was a different case. It took you three tries to get what was the thought behind her writings and getting even a little bit distracted made you lose all the comprehension of what was going on. So, Petra had your entire attention now.
“I wanted to ask you for a favour,” the young woman started, while shifting from one leg to another. You tilted your head, waiting for her to continue. “I have a driving exam this Friday morning and I won’t be in time to give my lesson. So, I’m searching for a substitute teacher,” Petra explained and pushed the coffee she brought towards you.
Something was strange. You were in a good relationship with all your colleagues, and you even considered Petra as one of your friends. She also knew your timetable, well aware that you also had lessons on Friday morning. So, why was she asking you?
“But I am not free during that period,” you mumbled, trying to understand if she was okay or not. What could have been her problem? Did she overwork herself, or had a burn-out, was she too stressed regarding the driving license she tried to get for the past year, or was it something personal?
“I know. But you are the only one who can help me. Please! Can you talk with Levi and convince him to help me?”
You let out a giggle. Of course, she knew not only your timetable! She also knew your husband’s.
“Why don’t you ask him? He would definitely agree. After some incomprehensible mumble and complaints, he will!” You said and laughed.
“The last time I asked him, he made me write all the emails to the parents of his students for three months!”
You laughed even harder because it sounded like Levi more than even Levi himself. It was the thing he asked the most every time other teachers wanted something from him. There was no one in the entire school not to go through this and if your colleagues weren’t doing it, it was you. It went on for so long that most of the teachers already forgot why it started. And the reason behind all of this was that once he called out a parent so badly for not taking care of their kid that the parent threatened to sue the school for defamation and verbal threats. Only thanks to Erwin’s negotiation skills everything was managed.
You reassured Petra that you’d talk with your husband and that she probably could go with ease to her driving test. Before starting grading tests again, you smelled the coffee that your colleague gave you and put it away. Levi liked that one more than you, so you’d give it to him while telling him about Petra’s favour.
And back to Sasha’s test. It wasn’t awful, she definitely did better than in the beginning, but it was so hard to go through it and try to understand everything she meant: missed comas, sentences without a predicate, ideas that changed three times before the period, and every now and then a small stain from whatever she was eating. Sometimes, if the test was very hard, you could even see tear stains. At least this time, you spotted no tears on any paper.
“How many do you have left?” Levi said, appearing out of nowhere. You probably missed the bell. He took the chair from the desk near you – his desk – and pushed you a little to get some space near you. You rolled your eyes and let him be. “Eren is definitely better at writing numbers than letters. What the hell are these? A secret code of a double spy?”
You laughed and punched your husband in the shoulder. “Don’t be mean. It’s a teacher’s fate to know how to decode kids’ secret messages. And you know, it was a couple of school teachers who decoded Zodiac’s first letter.”
Levi stopped and looked at you. “And you know, this is definitely not where I would like to use my skills of understanding this brat’s writing.”
You shrugged and continued to read the kids’ essays. It was going way slower than before, because you took more breaks, listening to your husband’s comments. At one point, he reached out his hand to take the coffee on your desk, which made you remember Petra’s request.
“By the way, can you substitute a lesson on Friday morning?” you asked after putting away the last test. Levi raised a brow and stopped sipping on the coffee.
“Do you have some plans I am not aware of?” he asked and you shook your head.
“It’s not for me, it’s for Petra. She has a driving test,” you explained, while pointing towards your friend. This made Levi roll his eyes.
“Only if she…” Your husband started.
“No. That’s exactly why she asked me, so you don’t make her message the parents for the next few months.”
Levi rolled his eyes again and started to aggressively sip on the coffee. You knew that you won, but you also knew he would continue to try to convince you otherwise.
“I accept only if she asks me personally.”
“No. You know why she won’t. Dealing with parents is a pain for everyone, not only you.”
“She has to grow some balls.”
“She doesn’t. You can be a team-player.”
“I have had my driving license for nearly two decades.”
“Good for you.”
“No. It’s… She… I don’t wanna!”
“Levi Ackerman! You will substitute the first lesson on Friday. Period.”
“You missed a mistake in Connie’s essay,” was the last thing that Levi said before he left your desk. He threw the cup of coffee in the trash a few meters away from it. It ricocheted from the wall and went right into the garbage can. Then, he shoved his hands into his pockets and opened the door of the teachers’ lounge with his elbow. You rolled your eyes. A few seconds later, Petra came to your desk, with an apologetic look.
“It’s okay if he won’t. I don’t want you to quarrel just because of me. I can reschedule the exam.”
You tilted your head and raised an eyebrow. Quarrel? When did you quarrel? Oh… That exchange of pleasantries. Maybe it really looked like a fight from outside.
“It’s okay. I know him well enough to know it is not going to affect us in any way. You know, that’s how love works,” you said and smiled. Only after Petra looked at you in confusion, you understood that she didn’t really get what you said. “When you really love someone, you are not afraid to make mistakes, or piss them off. Of course, you try not to do it, but even if something happens and they end up angry at you, you are secure enough to know it won’t end your relationships. I’m not afraid to talk in contradiction with Levi, or cause him discomfort, even if I better avoid it. But it’s not always possible, so it’s okay. And don’t worry. We weren’t fighting just now.”
Finally, Petra could breathe easily. This whole time she was so uptight, you even forgot how relaxed Petra looked like. She hugged you, saying thanks after thanks.
“How did you come to this conclusion?” a new voice said from behind you. Damn, every time Hange was silent, you forgot about their existence. Everyone was so used with their energetic self, that if they weren’t talking, you assumed they weren’t even present. “What was the thing that made you understand that Levi will choose you over his comfort?”
Hange was looking at you behind their thick glasses, with their head supported on the hands they elbowed on their knees. Of course, Hange would ask for more details. There was no way they would find out something new about their colleagues and not poke their nose further into it. Nothing in this world was of more interest for Hange than other people, and it meant their personal matters too. But you took advantage of Levi’s absence and decided to roll down the memory lane towards one of your most precious memories from the start of your relationships.
“You all know how Levi is obsessed with cleanness,” and everyone nodded. Of course, they did. The guy had a disinfectant spray with him to kill the germs on his desk every time he was approaching it. He was going to his class five minutes before the class started not to prepare for the lesson, but to clean the surfaces he intended to touch. “One of the first times I stayed over at his place, he left before me. We were students and he had classes early in the morning that day, when I had that period free. So, I took a shower after he left and started to blow-dry my hair. I felt how the blow-dryer started to get hot and wanted to unplug it, but before I could do it, it kind of exploded in my hand and caught on fire,” Petra gasped in shock, while Hange was nodding, looking directly at you. “I put it out fast, it wasn’t big or dangerous. But enough to scare me. However, I also knew how obsessed Levi was with having everything clean and perfect in his house, and a black spot with a hole in the middle, on the bed sheet wasn’t really going well with it. So, I messaged him, asking him not to be mad and sent a photo of the sheet. And you won’t believe it, but the first thing that he asked was if I was okay! He said he didn’t care about the sheet, or the bed – and he said it in a more vulgar way, as you can imagine – what he cared about was me. That’s when I understood that I can do things that can make him mad, but he will care more about me, than about the anger that it caused. The end!”
You smiled, Petra smiled, and Hange nodded. At some point, they took out a journal and started to note down what you were talking about. Levi would be pissed if he saw it, you thought.
“What are you talking about? Isn’t this what it means to love someone?” Levi said, as he closed the door behind him. He went towards the trash and took a wet wipe from the pack he had in his hands – he probably went after it when he left the room, you thought – and started to wipe above the trash, the part which the coffee cup hit when he threw it. You looked at Petra, who raised a brow at what was happening in front of her. Now, she could see that Levi didn’t storm out of the room, he wasn’t mad at you, he didn’t act like an angry teenager. Everything was just a coincidence.
Mad or not, it really was just love.

Levi doesn't really know what has drawn him to you. Perhaps your eagerness to please or your fearful and awe driven gaze directed him. Maybe it was your cute smile or the elegant way you held yourself. It certainly wasn't the fact that you were born in the safety of Mitras and your weak excuse of combat wasn't it either. While you appear to be smart and talented with the ODM gear, you certainly wouldn't do fighting titans. It's that simple. Your purpose as a soldier would probably be death, giving your life for humanity. Levi hates that fact; he despises the idea of you dying. You were subordinated to him after you joined the Survey Corps a year ago and if it wasn't for him, you would have been eaten and ripped apart on more occasions than he would like to admit.
He expected you to be just that, a rich brat. Probably narcissistic and an egomaniac, having only your own desires in best interest. Most likely arrogant and always bragging about your accomplishments, like Oluo. To his surprise you were nothing like that. Your star struck eyes would always look up to him, a mixture of hope and awe in them. You would follow his every comment, much like Petra, but unlike her you were still in need of extra training.
The Captain always held you close. He would make you stay longer in training, so you could get better and stronger. After he would tell you to shower and meet him in his office to help him with paperwork, something that definitely wasn't in your range of duty. He abused his power over you, using your eagerness to help for his own advantage. Levi thrived, still does, in your attention and obedient behavior. He quite often thinks about you, wondering why a brat of Mitras would join the military. You had no reason to; a rich family, fulfilled life. And while he doesn't enjoy the thought of you with another man, you would have probably married someone of your class and bore him children. These thoughts made him realize that it might be the reason why you left. You did not want to be treated like a baby machine, did not want to marry a stranger twice your age. The Scouts made you free, or so you thought. Truth is you'd never be free, not as long as your Captain was around. It made him wonder what your life was like in Mitras. You were a late bloomer; joined when you turned eighteen, he knew that much. You probably waited to legally decide your fate on your own, without having to worry about your parents intervening. He remembers that day he looked over all of the reports of his new Cadets. You caught his interest.
"Fucking Mitras brat." He spat.
And then Eren came around. Levi was aware of his importance and upcoming changes that would occur with the moment he stepped foot into the Corps. Levi sat in Erwin's office drinking tea while he rolled his eyes at Hange’s rambling, their loud voice caused him a headache.
"We need you to pick a new squad, Levi. Your Cadets will be handed over to Miche, so you have time to prepare your soldiers for the special operation. " Erwin explained and gave them a meaningful glance. He felt sour at the thought, but eventually decided to dare his luck a little.
"Sure. Am I allowed to hand-pick my new squad?" The blonde, tall man rolled his eyes, giving him a cold facade.
"Yes. I trust you on your decisions. Do you have anyone specific in mind?" In his head, Levi screamed your name in desperation.
"Eld is a fine soldier. Petra Ral and Oluo Bozado would be suited too." He halted, glaring at him as he waited for Erwin to agree. He did so gladly.
"There is someone else." Levi noted and cleared his throat. The Commander gave him a sad look, feeling regret twirling in his gut.
"You want to drag her into this?" Erwin wondered, hoping to motivate his friend to change his mind.
"You said you would trust my decisions." Erwin stopped arguing and Levi knew he had Smith wrapped around his finger. He would give him almost anything if it meant that the Captain was happy. Confused Hange scratched their head. "Who are you talking about?" They asked directed at Erwin, they didn't expect an answer from Levi anyways.
"A Cadet from Levi's current squad." It didn't take more to form Hange’s lips into an 'O' shape as awkward silence hit them. Rumors had already spread in the upper ranks of the squad about Levi being madly in love with his subordinate. The Captain would never dare to call it love though. No, he just gets off on the idea of having control over the Mitras brat.
"Why did you choose me?" You asked him when the two of you cleaned the hall of your new headquarters, an abandoned castle. It's dirty and if there was something Levi hated more than stains on his clothes it certainly was an unclean environment.
"Are you questioning my decisions brat?" He felt good, turning the words in your mouth so you would feel sorry.
"I would never dare to, Captain!" You raised your voice in fear, looking at him with hurt.
"It's just-" You started shuddering at his cold stare, knowing you had to choose your next words wisely.
"There are so many others who are better than me." He nodded his head and agreed with you, your polite smile falling. He felt almost bad, but the thin line of feeling bad and boiling lust was conflicted within him.
"But I have my reasons. You have other useful qualities." He encouraged her.
"Like what?" Levi sighted and gritted his teeth, fletching them at her.
"Oi, shut up now. The floors don't clean themselves." Shrinking under him you held your breath and whispered a small 'sorry Sir' continuing your cleaning duties.
You didn't have dinner tonight, not enough time to eat. You relaxed in the showers and thought about your mistakes for too long. You shouldn't have lost your temper, shouldn't have raised your voice, after all Captain Levi is your superior, you don't know what has gotten into you. Petra tried to offer you comfort. "He's just stressed." She assured you, as she held your crying body in her arms. "I'm sure he only wants to talk things out with you! You mean a lot to him, I can tell." Her words were smoothing and the two of you made their way into the showers, relaxing under the warm stream of water.
In his mind the two of you got closer over the past three weeks you were at the castle. With every passing day he got more and more desperate, bombing you with training. Learning about the true purpose of the 57th expedition, he had to make sure that you were safe. The hard work made you feel exhausted and after you had to repeat the same exercise for what felt like the hundredth time you simply snapped.
"I can't do this anymore!" You screamed, while you lost your calm demeanor. Throwing a tantrum around Levi, criticizing him at the same time, wasn't the best idea, you'll admit. The Captain angrily shut you up and squeezed your arm under his tight grip. He felt pissed, angry way beyond your pathetic imagination.
"If you don't get better you will die. I can’t always be there to save your sorry ass Cadet." He was aggressive and shook your body.
"Then don't! I'm a soldier, it would be an honor to die for your cause." It was the first time he had violently touched you; the back of his hand smacking against your skin. His squad held their breaths in shock and didn't know how to react to his outburst. It wasn't unusual for Levi to get physical with people that misbehaved, but with you it was something else. Never did he lay his hands on you, except in training of course. You were quiet, other than the quiet whimpers that left your lips. It urged him to do worse.
"Are you dense? You stupid brat don't even know what it means to die in honor. You should have stayed in Mitras with that attitude. I'm in no need of suicidal soldiers." You started crying at this point, shaking under his hands. He felt adrenaline shot into his abdomen, a nice tingle made his member slightly twitch at the sight of you.
"Then why did you choose me?" He was close to hitting you again, his hand bawling into a fist; knuckles shining white.
"Meet me in an hour in my office. Clean yourself up, you smell." With that he let you go and walked past his squat, eyebrows furrowing as Petra ran to your side, offering comfort. You didn't deserve that; he thought and shook his head in anger. The two of you were too soft.
After that you dressed in your fresh formal-uniform and brushed your wet hair behind your ears, trying to appear as neat and dolled up as always, a habit that stuck with you ever since you were a little girl. Your parents made sure that your appearance would match your status as a wealthy Mitras girl. You hated it there, felt trapped and lonely. Some things that were taught to you stayed with you though, like taking good care of your body, always keeping your stuff clean or being polite. Of course, you learned to obey others, especially men, too. They prepared you to be a good wife. It scared you, made you feel sick; the thought of marrying a stranger gave you anxiety. It's why you decided to leave and enlisted in the Training Corps, making your parents disappointed. You felt guilty, as much as you do now. You displeased your Captain, the one you looked up to, the one that makes you eager to submit. You would do anything and perhaps, tonight you will.
Those thoughts cross your mind as you stand in front of his office and private quarters. The upper ranks really have nice privileges. Your heart pounds against your chest, as you softly knock on the wood. Footsteps emerge as you fitch with the hem of your dress shirt. The door creaks open, revealing your Captain to you. He takes a step to the side, offering you access to his office with a spread arm. You don't look at him when you enter, head hanging low, and eyes fixed on the ground. Your punishment might be a severe one, probably physical discipline. He did punish you twice, made you run around the headquarters for three hours or leave out all the meals once. But this time is going to be much worse, and you know it's the way he looks at you that makes you question his sanity. You should feel ashamed of that.
"You know Cadet, I could tell that you were on edge as of lately." He starts and takes a seat, making you stand opposite of his desk.
"And I get it, we all are." He places his slender hands on the wooden surface, the same hands that caused you pain an hour ago.
"But raising your voice against your Captain? Arguing with him, with me-“ he scoffs leaning forward.
"Now that's disrespectful on a new level. What happened? Did I finally break my favorite toy?" Levi mocks, a sinister expression on his usual stoic face. The last sentence got to you, eyes widening, a little displeased groan escapes you, eyebrows furrowing at the insult. Though, instead of sharing your discomfort with him, you simply answer: "Sorry Captain. It won't happen again." At that he rolls his eyes, shaking his head disappointed.
"That did not answer my question. Did I break you yet, Cadet?" You wonder if the thought of emotionally dragging you down would please him. It would make sense, he always did show sadistic tendencies around you, bombing you with dehumanizing duties. You agreed to do them with a smile, hoping it would please him and it did. Now you wonder if it just egged him on to be much harsher with you.
"I was close." You confess and fold your hands in your front, blankly returning his gaze.
"Good. I hope you know why I'm pushing you harder than the others." His tongue slightly brushes over his dry lips, as he locks his steel-colored eyes on your form. You take a moment to think and hesitantly speak up after a few seconds.
"I believe it's because I'm not as good as the others." A small smile spreads over his lips as he stands up again. You never saw him smile; it slightly starts to weird you out.
"Correct. You would die out there, I can't have that." Levi walks up to you in a slow pace, his relaxed state dominating the room. You swallow, taking a step back as he closes in.
"Captain? May I ask why you can't have me dying?" A sight leaves him, as he places a hard on your shoulder, stopping you from moving.
"Aren't you a nosey girl?" Your Captain states and places his other hand on your other shoulder as well. A bit of panic rises in your gut at the touch. The Captain was never one to show affection and this strange touch simply can't mean anything good.
"Why did you order me here?" The question lingers in the air like a heavy prayer, making Levi's hands grip your delicate shoulders tighter.
"Tch. Want me to show you?" He's seconds away from doing something stupid and both of you know it.
"Yes, please." You murmur and break the contact of your stare, allowing him full authority. With excitement his hands glide from your shoulders to your waist, pulling you closer. He leans to the level of your ear, warm breath and the sudden closeness making you stiffen.
"What I'm going to show you is either a reward-" you feel his hands softly roam your curves, making you start shaking at the feeling it provides you. Not sure if it is desperation or despair, you let quiet whines out, encouraging him to grip your bum.
"-or a punishment." You yelp as the same hand that caressed you moments ago gave your behind a harsh slap. Biting down onto your lip, you try to push him away from you to no use. He doesn't even buckle under your weak attempts.
"It's going to be up to you, silly Cadet." He whispers and slowly starts to move his head down your neck, placing tingling kisses at your vulnerable areas. Denying that his hands and lips feel pleasurable on your body would be a lie. It feels good, adrenaline rises in your gut as you think about how wrong this is. Superior ranks to yours shouldn't use you the way he does, after all you could report him for his inappropriate behaviors. Though it probably won't be to any good use, because Commander Erwin closed his eyes to the strange relationship of yours months ago. You know that most of the upper ranks suspect something between the two of you and yet nobody came to your help so far, because they don't want to anger Captain Levi.
At some point you are a mess; cheeks flushed, heart beating rapidly, and your flesh is painted in bite marks. His hands hold you up and keep you from falling into his erratic body.
"Captain-" you wince and grip him weakly against your heated form, allowing even more contact between the two of you.
"Hm?" He hums and lets his hand wander between your legs, making your posture stiffen.
"This is wrong Captain, please-" you finish your sentence with a moan as his fingers dance circles around your clit, a wonderful sensation erecting in your abdomen.
"Shut up, it is not." He insists and slowly takes a few steps forward, making you stumble back at the unexpected movement. The both of you crash against his table and with a swift motion it's empty, papers and pens landing on the floor. He quickly makes use of your shocked self and pushes you down onto it, hour back connecting with the hardwood. A sound of pain rings through the room and it takes you a while to register what's happening. Levi presses your body down with his, his heavy breathing catches your attention and the next thing you notice is something hard against your thigh. At first you thought it was his hip bone, but after he starts rubbing it against you realization hits you. Feeling yourself blushing furiously, heat spreads through your stomach like a wildfire. You try to push him away, brushing his hand from you, which only causes him to grind harder against you.
"No," you whine as he bites your earlobe. "Levi stop!" Your voice sounds muffled, a few tears run down your hot cheeks. He stills for a moment before resuming. Your hips arch upwards, pushing into his hardened length. He groans, mouth wide open while his eyes are squeezed shut. Moving his head from your shoulder to rest his face right below your ear, he whispers:
"You are to call me Captain, Cadet." His breath is warm against your neck, the rough sound of his deep voice sends shivers down your spine, and you let out a whimper that sounds like a plea. He smirks slightly, enclosing his hand around your throat.
"And I'm calling you mine." He decides and opens your dress shirt, exposing your bodice and skin underneath. In a matter of a minute, you wrinkle completely naked underneath him; plank panic written on your face. He on the other hand is completely dressed, only making the effort to loosen the first two buttons of his shirt. His cravat is placed in your mouth to make you shut up and he observes you with dark eyes, while he pushes his sleeves up to his elbows.
"You look so beautiful." He whispers and brushes over your cheek, wetting his thumb with your salty tears. His pupils are blown as he slowly fitches with his pants, pulling out his member to the cool air.
"Please-" you cry out, not sure if you want him to continue or to stop. He looks good that way; black hair falling into his pale face and his posture hovering over your vulnerable form.
"No, I deserve you this way." He breathes out and leans down.
"You are my subordinate, my soldier. Mine." He groans and starts to slowly rub circles between your already wet folds.
"Ever since you joined the Scouts you have been nothing but submissive-" He trails off and enters you with his finger, making you whimper.
Levi thrusts even harder and throws his head back until a deep growl rings through your ears and you feel him twitch. For a moment he thought about coming inside of you, impregnating you so you wouldn't have to attend the expeditions anymore. Eventually he decides against it, the risks of getting into serious trouble are too high. He watches as hot strings of his semen trip onto your lower bell, his face twisting in disgust. He grabs for a napkin in his pant pockets and cleans himself and your skin, making sure that not one single drop is left. He ever so slightly looks at you, trying to read your reaction. Are you scared? Pleased? He can't tell.
"But I guess people can change, hugh?" He pulls out and leads his finger to his lips, greedily tasting you. Closing your eyes in shame, you bit down on the cloth between your lips, feeling the dip of something hot press against your entrance. You can't hold back your cry when he slides it inside you, stretching you open to take all you are willing to give. His pace increases slightly after he waited for a minute so you could adjust. His hands run through your hair, tugging at any loose strands. Your heart races and your hands ball into fists as you try your best to ignore the burning pain you are in. Levi doesn't stop once. With an angry grunt he slams himself inside and you moan loudly, wrapping your legs around his waist, digging your nails into his broad shoulders. The cloth in your mouths loosens and you take the opportunity, spitting it out.
"Captain. Please-" You cry as you feel your nails digging into his flesh, breaking his pure skin easily. The harsh movements of his hips slowly start to feel enjoyable, the slapping sound of skin ringing in your ears.
"I knew I liked you better when you were quiet." He breathes as he thrusts in and out of you, faster than before. When you thought about your first time it certainly didn’t cross your mind that it would be like this; rough and full hatred. Not understanding why, you would feel pleasure with the way he treats you, you close your eyes and let the sensation wash over you. Your body shakes with each stroke of his cock and your hands start to tremble. A sudden orgasm washes over you and you scream his name, letting it flow free through your clenched teeth. He growls low in his throat when he watches how your hips jerk up towards him.
You breathe flatly, your back hurting from the hard surface underneath you. Your classy eyes watch the dancing flames of the chandelier above you with interest. You feel exhausted and lightheaded, the feeling of being empty again is weird. The sensation of your climax still lingering in your abdomen.
"Sit up Cadet." Your Captain demands and helps you into an upright position.
"Dress. Then help me with those reports." He gestures at the floor, while fixing his shirt, trying to appear not too casual.
"Yes Captain." You obey his comment, collecting your uniform and undergarments that has been spread around his table. You notice his eyes on your naked body, making you feel uncomfortable.
"Cadet." He catches your attention as your eyes meet.
"You don't tell anyone about this. And don't even get the idea of spreading your legs for anyone but me." Levi demands in a grumpy manner. You glance at him, shocked and offended. Never would you dare to do this with any other person.
"Oi! Do you understand that brat?" ‘
"Yes Captain Levi."

Hange subtly digging at Levi and his cleaning hobby in Ilse's Notebook OVA
Tumblr media
At first I thought she was talking about Levi and his squad stalking her when she returned Ilse's notebook to her parents.
Then I realised.
Because there are different subtitle translation, after checking with Google translate, I am inclined to understand her line as them having a new hobby of folllowing people (her).
And Levi and his squad were purchasing cleaning equipment when they encounter Hange. So, my Levihan lens is showing Hange roasting Levi for developing another hobby, other than cleaning, which is stalking people.
Tumblr media
And we know that Hange's mood is likely to be down because while she knows what needs to be done to continue Ilse's effort, she does not have the power or authority to do so.
Moblit isnt even with her when she visited Ilse's parents. Likely he got yelled at by her when she left 😔
Tumblr media
Now, I am guessing that after Hange submitted her official proposal to resume capturing a titan to Erwin and left to visit Ilse's parents, Levi probably met up with Erwin to support her case, or Erwin went to Levi to tell him to pass the message. In any case, Levi knew of the good news before he leave to go shopping with Petra and Oruo.
Many things could be happening, it might have been an intentional shopping trip to try to catch Hange, but I am sure that Levi will not say no to any chance to make Hange happy (even if it means supporting her unrequited love towards his rivals titans)
He is smirking to himself while Oruo and Petra got shocked by Hange's reaction. We know. 😏

Levi Ackerman x Best friend!Reader!with Toxic Parent!ModernaotAU
Warnings: toxic parent, parents divorced
Just got into an argument with my parent and I needed to vent so here you guys go 🙂‍↔️ Levi is the best best friend ever and I needed that last week.
Also very much so unedited LOL
Includes : levi, Hange, Erwin
AOT MODERN AU
Tumblr media
Your parents had divorced when you were 17. Your sister was 13. Between graduating high school and helping your sister focus on her own studies you didn’t have time to mourn the loss. The loss was of your family, your mother.

In college is where you met your best friend, Levi. Erwin and Hange soon followed after.

It was two weeks in school. You were buried in quizzes, tests, and essays.

The library was full, and you were sitting at a table with four chairs. Your textbooks had taken over the table.

A few students had walked in and out of the library and you ignored them.

Until a hand slammed on your textbook.

You didn’t look up hoping it was a mistake.

Then the fingers began drilling as if impatient. Finally, a voice interrupted your thoughts, “um excuse me?”

You looked up to come face to face with a girl who resembled that of a typical high school bully.

I thought for sure we’d left that behind, you thought to yourself.

Choosing kindness you responded, “yes?” With a smile.

She began popping her gum, blowing a bubble before she continued, “My friends and I need this table.  There’s only one of you, so get up.”

You snorted, unable to take her seriously.

Her eyes narrowed, “Did I say something funny?”

You shook your head, “No sorry I just had something in my throat. I’m sitting here because the one person tables don’t have enough room for my textbooks.” You attempted to explain despite knowing you could have just said no and ignored her.

She stood up fully now, “Well maybe if you weren’t so dumb you wouldn’t need all this space to study.” She rolled her eyes.

You weren’t much of a bully and your own insults didn’t come easy. So, all you could do was stutter, “Uh…”

A new voice joined the convo. “Maybe if you weren’t a high school bully you abominable flamingo then we can all study in peace. Because you know, it is a study hall.” He spoke from behind you.

You turned your head just as the girls gasped. There stood a guy you could recognize from your other classes.

Levi something. The girl attempted to speak but shutting her up again he spoke, “You have an entire life to be an idiot. Why not take the day off?”

This time you couldn’t help but snorting. You caught it as your hand raised as if you were coughing. The girl glared at you but did walk away.

You turned to say thanks, but he was already walking away and towards a table where a blonde guy was sitting and a brown-haired girl. She was wearing glasses and waving dramatically at you.

Hesitantly you waved back. Despite the woman grinning and waving Levi didn’t look back.

You smiled at the memory. The next day, the girl tried to stop you in the hallway. But the girl who you learned was named Hange swooped in and dragged you away ignoring them.

She explained that if you were going to be such a target of bullying it would be smart to stick to them. You were exceptionally grateful. Most of your classes were with all three of them and if not at least one of them.

You were interested in becoming a professor and you soon learned they all were too. Erwin loved history. Hange science. Hilariously enough Levi and you both were interested in Literature.

Which is how you all ended up where you were now.

You and Hange were roommates. Levi lived alone and Erwin with his wife.

Petra Erwin’s wife had been out of town on a girl’s trip. So, you and Hange decided to have them over for an easy dinner.

Easy for Hange seeing as she loved to clean. You took on the cooking role often.

You’d already planned dinner and the beef was marinated ready for you to cook. You were currently picking up your sister as your dad was called into work for a Tech Reserve.

He’d be gone for the week.

You’d been listening to Ann your sister talk about her latest situation. She’d been laid off from her job with no warnings. It was a simple cleaning job she did 3 times a week. It was easy money and someone you all knew. She’d been working there for 3 years. And now at 19 she needed to start over. With a new resume and a new job. It hadn’t been a week since the message that your dad had pushed her to call every business down the street to see if they were hiring.

She currently wanted to work at a cafe, but he said no. Most of his reason based on paranoia alone. You attempted to give suggestions as to why he should let her work where she wanted but to no avail.

As you both arrived you parked the car in your driveway, “I’m going to call him, you can go ahead into the house. Hange is here,” you unlocked the car.

She turned to you uneasily, “if I can’t convince him, I don’t know that you can. And you know how he gets, why you moved out in the first place.”

You shook your head, “it doesn’t matter, I don’t live there anymore. He can't hurt me anymore. Besides, he must see reason.”

You both knew that wasn’t the case.

He was a great dad, he provided for all your needs and in days where you were short on money. He was there. Days you needed air in your tire, needed to borrow bug spray he was there.
But after the divorce, your father began comparing you to your cheating mother.

As a teenager you were still reeling from your own mother’s betrayal not just because she cheated… but also because she abandoned you and your sister. You wished so desperately for an escape. So, the first mention of needing a roommate from Hange you began working hard. Putting your affairs in order and saving money. When you turned 21 with your first teaching position you were out.

The first few months were blissful. No more comparing. No more sly comments, no more backhanded compliments. Or ordering around. Or doing things the way only HE wanted.

Apart of you felt sorry for leaving your own sister behind, but you had the tiniest inkling she’d be fine. Considering she was the favorite child. No matter how much she or he tried to deny it. It was all in the way he listened to her, or heard her out, didn't interrupt her, and even treated her like an adult. There were no backhanded compliments or talking about her in front of others.

Ann shrugged, before taking her bag and jumping out of the car. You watched her walk up to your front door before you opened your phone.

There were a few messages from the groupchat. Erwin saying he'd arrived. Hange letting you know she'd taken the meat out of the freezer. Levi texting you and the chat he was on the way with dessert and drink.

Knowing you were attempting to distract yourself from your task you opened the phone app. You took a deep breath, sliding to the contact that read 'Dadmight' and hit dial.

As he answered, you greeted one another as usual. The formalities were out of the way. Then he asked what was up.

Shakily you spoke, “Dad, I know you’re her parent and you have a right to give her suggestions. But don’t you think Ann should work where she wants to work? I mean at the end of the day, you may help her with her resume, and teach her how to do an interview but wherever she gets accepted she’ll have to do the job on her own. You won’t be able to help her or give suggestions. So she might as well,-“ he cut you off. You instantly could tell he was upset.

“No. Hush your mouth,” he began his own spill. You zoned out barely hearing his words. But recognizing a few.

Disrespectful. On your own. Relationship. Stay out of it. So many words ran together and just like when you were younger you keep your face blank. Your body moved out autopilot as you opened the car door. The anger in his voice was always the same. However cool night breeze instantly woke you. reminding you of your intentions.

“Hello? Did you hear me? I said-“ he began again repeating everything. You listened this time. As he accused you of trying to destroy his relationship with Ann. As he said your tone was disrespectful and how just because you moved out you didn’t get to talk to him that way.

“I’m not trying to attack you,” you cut in attempting to diffuse the situation.

“Be quiet! I’m not done, don’t interrupt me when I’m talking to you,” you attempted to not zone. Because of this a lump in your throat formed. As you fought to keep from blanking out every little word felt like an arrow hitting your body.

He was silent now.

“Okay dad, I’ll talk to you later. Bye,” you hung up the phone. Before you could start sobbing.

Apart of you angry at his disrespect but also angry at yourself. You didn’t live with him anymore. He couldn’t punish you or burst in your room and demand a conversation. You were on your own. In your own space that you built with Hange.

And he still affected you.

None of these thoughts helped you. Within in seconds, you started crying. Your tears kept coming without cause. You ripped your glasses off and through blurry eyes you swiped on your phone again and pressed on a new contact.

The phone rang and rang and rang. Until finally someone picked up.

You heard a familiar but weak voice. "Hello?"

"Mom?" You asked albeit a little confused. Your voice was clear but barely.

She sniffed clearing her throat, before answering you, "Yes? What's wrong?"

You cleared your throat enough to ask, "Are you crying? What's wrong?"

She began protesting, "No no I'm okay, what's up?"

You shook your head, "No you're crying!" You lost it again the tears spilling over, "we can't both be crying," the tears fell even harder. Your head aching at the sudden onslaught of tears.

Your mom sniffled again, "I'm sorry. Me and your aunt just got into it. What's wrong with you?" You could tell she wasn't in her right mind.

Still, you answered her question as she had yours, "Dad and I just got into it. But I'll just call you later, okay? Feel better," you mumbled as she agreed and said love you.

The conversation ended and you were not feeling any better. In fact, you were feeling worse. You took your glasses to your shirt, attempting to wipe the stain of tears off, before focusing on the cold tears on your face.

You didn’t notice a car had parked on your street. Or that Levi was walking towards you.

He didn’t seem to see your face, “I got that disgusting wine you like so much,” he raised the bottle as you attempted to wipe your tears. But they kept coming.

He stopped as he finally got a look at you.

“Are you crying?” He was close now, “Who were you talking to on that phone call?”

Phone call? Christ did he hear me? Panic hit you as you started laughing uneasily, “sorry the moon is just so pretty tonight,” you pointed up only to come face to face with clouds that were covering the moon. From the looks of it, the moon had been covered for awhile.

Levi’s expression turned deadpanned. As if he were saying, really?

“Sorry,” you wiped the tears that had finally stopping coming, “dad and I just got into it. More like he laid into me,” you rolled your eyes.

You turned to your car, grabbing your own backpack from the back seat.

As you locked the door and began walking, he was in step with you. “You mean that heated voice was your dad?” His voice soured as if he couldn’t believe it.

You sighed, “Yeah. Well just now it was my mom. Before that it was my dad, I don’t think you’ve ever met him yet. He can be a bit of a jerk sometimes,” you turned to him now, “are my eyes red and can you tell I’ve been crying?” You asked hurriedly.

He paused. His eyes scanning your face. Before he could answer you assumed he was trying to find an easy way to say yes. Or a funny way knowing him.

“I knew it,” you turned your bag attempting to find a tissue, but he stopped you.

“No sorry, I was just admiring your beauty.” He spoke as if it were obvious.

You paused not expecting his direct words. Or the honesty. Before you could say anything else, he opened the door and walked in.

You could feel your cheeks warm but ignoring them you followed him shutting the door. You hung your backpack on the hooks where other purses and bags laid. You slipped your shoes off and your sweatshirt, leaving you in a pair of overalls and a frilly shirt. Sitting on the couch was your sister, Erwin and you assumed Hange was making drinks.

Your sister made a beeline for Levi pulling him an unwillingly hug. He humored her. And funny enough only her.

“Hey brat,” he pulled away from her.

You greeted Hange and Erwin and they smiled.

You grabbed the wine from his hand and headed straight for the kitchen. He followed behind you with your sister in tow.

She was sitting on the bar stools as you began washing your hands. You could tell she wanted to know how the phone call went.

Ann wouldn't be Ann if she didn't just say what was on her mind. And that she did.

"So, how'd it go?" She asked before popping a can of soda.

You'd already dried your hands and were rinsing out a glass of wine. Hange opened your 'disgusting wine' as Levi dubbed and was already pouring you a glass as you pulled out the beef you marinated just this morning.

You rolled your eyes, "How do you think it went?" You were annoyed, "then I tried to call mom and she was crying too! I told her we can't both be crying," you plugged in the rice cooker to prepare for the rice you were about to wash.

Ann snickered, "Not you both crying. What was up with her?"

You washed the rice in front of her at the sink now. "She said she got into it with her sister. I told her dad and I got into it and then I told her to get some rest. We hung up after that," you poured the rice out as your sister nodded.

Hange cut in with a glass of something, "I'm sorry did I just hear you say you got into it with your dad? I thought you left that behind," she leaned against the counter as you turned the stove on, throwing garlic with sesame oil in the pan.

You chuckled unamusedly, "Heh, yeah. See I did until he started being unreasonable towards Ann." You gestured now opening the pantry. You pulled the flour free so you could start on the Kimchi pancakes.

Erwin now joined all of you in the kitchen as Levi rolled his sleeves up preparing to clean up after you. You were too busy cooking and sipping to notice the small bit of trash you left behind. To Levi this was okay because it gave him something to do with his hands while you cooked for them.

Erwin set his beer on the bar pulling himself into the seat next to Anna, "How is he being unreasonable this time?" He asked curiously.

It had slipped your mind the last time your father truly got on your nerves you called Erwin. He brought you lunch at the day care you were interning at and listened to your agitated words. You were 19 at the time and your father had taken your car and your phone... all to make a point. You knew this to be the case because a few days later he'd given both items back. Erwin convinced you right then in there to NOT move out at 19 with only your recent check to your name. However, he offered his place as a refuge in case you ever needed it.

Thankfully, you had been able to hold out for a few more years.

Levi was surprised to hear Erwin's choice of words too. You'd chosen to keep Levi out of this part of your life, due to the fear that he and your father would become enemies. Of course, Levi never knew this.

As you remembered this, you came back from your thoughts to Ann explaining the situation. The others listened as she expressed her opinion on the situation. You poured the broccoli into a pan on the back of the stove, readying the sauce so it would steam just right.

"Do you want to tell us how the convo went?" Ann asked apart of curious but also cautious... between the two of you she was less likely to talk family business. You however had no qualms in this regard.

You mixed the Kimchi into the flour before setting the bowl in front of Ann. She pouted but got to work, as you leaned back and sipped.

"Yeah, so you know when I get excited sometimes I yell," you explained first.

Hange snickered, "Yell is an understatement. She was telling me about her latest enemies to lovers’ book in the car and I thought I lost my hearing."

You blushed deeply, your facial expression showing embarrassment, "Thank you Hange for proving the point that everyone else knows, I'm sure. Moving on," you stirred the broccoli before leaning against a counter again.

"So, I'm not sure if I was yelling or if it was my tone."

Ann cut in, "your tone can sometimes come across crazy."

You ignored her and kept talking, "I basically told him that even though he's Ann's parent he can help her or give her suggestions, but at the end of the day she's going to be the one doing the work. We all know whether you admit it or not you or a lazy person," you paused looking to Ann who was now flipping the first kimchi pancake.

"I am."

You bit a chuckle, "So I told him wouldn’t it make more sense if you let her work where she wants to work... so then she'll actually want to work and then later she can move up." You took a deep breath pausing for a moment to put the beef on the hot stove.

Hange was impatient. "So, what'd he say this time?"

You rolled your eyes, "First while I was talking, he told me to shut up and hush up and of course I laughed. Then he went into this spill about how I disrespect him and how I shouldn't talk to him in that tone. He said that just because I've moved out doesn't mean I can ruin his and Ann's relationship and that I needed to stay out of it," you were frustrated now.

The cup you were holding had been set down now and you were gripping the counter in anger, "Ugh I mean what makes him think I'm going to want to respect him if he treats me like that. I feel like every time we argue he treats me like dirt. Whether or not that's his intention that's how I feel," you turned to Hange now, "and this whole thing just made me truly realize why I dislike conversation about conflict or telling you how I feel. Any time I talked to him or try to tell him my point of view it turns into him thinking I'm attacking him or trying to take away his 'deserved' respect as a father. And then I shut down as you know Ann and so after the whole conversation and he finally went quiet I was just like, 'okay dad, I'll see you later,' and I just hung up. Then I was crying... not because of what he said or anything but because I was frustrated with myself for allowing him to still get to me." You couldn't look anyone in the eye as your felt your own frustration dissipate.

Hange was the first to speak up, "I'm sorry. I understand where you're coming from. Maybe with time he'll see our point of view. I feel like every time you mention him I want to like punch him in the face. Your dad is an interesting person, that's for sure."

You covered your mouth in shock before laughing at her statement. You then flipped the beef over in the pan as your laughed turned into a snicker.

Levi spoke up next surprising you, "What do you mean you 'shut down?'" His face didn't give away what he was thinking. Apart of you felt grateful worried he would think you were overreacting.

You were unsure if you wanted Levi to know this other side of you. The side your father only brought out. Interrupting your thought Ann however replied.

"She does this thing where her face goes blank. I feel like it's to protect herself from what he's saying. It's almost like she's disassociating, which is not good by the way. You need a therapist," your sister pointed out as she always did.

You couldn't help but snort, "So do you. But at the end of the day dad has taught me something," you leaned against the counter now allowing the chicken to cook on the stove.

"What's that?" Erwin curiously asked.

You grinned, "Not to marry anyone like him. Ann already knows if my future boyfriend acts anything like our dad, to hit me over the head."

Hange snickered, "Has she had to hit you over the head yet?"

Somehow knowing you wouldn't answer truthfully Ann chuckled, "I've hit her over the head for a few guys with red flags but none thankfully as bad as Dad."

Levi folded his arms, "Who have you dated?"

You kept silent, but Ann however did not care for your embarrassment.

She began cackling. "Oh you never told them did you?" You covered your face, "It was Chad! Remember him, right?" Ann smirked turning to the others.

Erwin began shaking his head, "I had to step in for Chad. That was truly one of your darkest moments (name). Gotta say I was a tiny bit disappointed."

You rolled your eyes, "Okay Erwin we get it. I have horrible taste in men."

Hange shook her head, "Not just horrible. Chad was like downright disgusting y/n! What did he do? Bat his eyelashes?"

You cringed. "What?? Nooo!" You didn't appear to be convincing.

Levi sighed. "Chad as in the college dropout Chad? The Chad who got kicked out of school our senior year?" Even he had the ability to look disappointed.

You turned away from everyone, "It's not my fault, I took his flirting seriously! I've never been flirt with," you gestured to yourself as if that would help your situation by any means.

Hange closed her eyes and softly shook her head. "Okay y/n you're right. We're sorry, although please tell me Chad was the only one," she turned to Ann who didn't appear to be in your favor.

Interrupting the stories that were soon to follow you spoke up, "Alright who's hungry?"

You were thankful for the short distraction. However, you were not expecting to catch the eyes of Levi. A curious look in his eyes.
Levi didn’t have parents. His mother died when he was young and he never met his father.

After that his uncle raised him until he was old enough to do something with his life. His Uncle Kenny was never much of a father.

Apart of him wondered what his life would have been like if he had his mother to raise him. Or if Kenny had stuck around to actually raise him properly.

Alas he would never know and now that he’s older he wonders if his thoughts and feelings on his parents would have changed.. if they were still alive. He was sure you still loved your parents because he knew just as well as anyone else a simple argument would never change that. However, a part of him began wondering if parent relationships were as black and white as he thought.

And how many times have you had to deal with your father in this way. How many times had he not been here to hear what was bothering you and understand what made you cry and why.

You approached Levi noticing him now deep in thought. The others had plates and were entertaining one another with a movie. You could hear the familiar Kung Fu Panda 2 intro.

"Hey, here's your plate," you whispered setting in front of him.

He looked up shock briefly taking over him, "Oh thanks."

You nodded watching him for a moment. It appeared he had something to say, so you gave him a moment. Your plate was sitting in front of you, and you took a sip of the 'disgusting' (deliciously sweet) wine.

Levi picked up his fork pausing for a second, "So how often do you and your father get in arguments?"

You stared at him attempting to gauge his thoughts. Like always he gave nothing away.

You shook your head hoping to be as convincing as you could and answered, "Not often."

He set his fork down, his eyes staring holes into your own, "Please do not lie to me."

You sighed turning away from him as your felt your throat weaken. Of course you had to be emotional.

Taking a few seconds, you turned back to him. "These days? Maybe once a month. Being out of the house has made it easier on our relationship. He still has opinions on things which is what we end up arguing over most of time," you rolled your eyes, moving the food on your plate around.

Levi nodded slowly, "How long has it been going on?"

You closed your eyes at his question... it had been nearly 4 years ago and still you remember every detail as if it was yesterday... maybe I really do need a therapist. Ann would gloat at you agreeing with her words.

You opened your eyes to see Levi looking at you with nothing but patience, so you spoke.

"Well, I was 17 and anna was 13 when mom left us. She cheated on my dad, they got a divorce and she and left anna and I for a year. She went zero contact, and we had no idea if she was dead or alive, what she was doing, and where she was. During that time, our dad was dealing with the divorce in a not so healthy way. He took it out on us, not super bad but sometimes he would compare me to mom. He said I would turn out just like her and he spent many nights talking to Ann and I about the way mom treated him and about how she had abandoned us. Ann hated mom for a long time because of this. Of course, we did our best to help him... and then he took up drinking. He was never physical, just very cruel with his words. One day... I got tired of him treating us like his therapists and from then on Ann became his favorite child."

Your story like past came to an end and you took the first bite of your meal as Levi took in your story. You could see his hands tense and his jaw locked.

He bit the inside of his cheek as he looked up now staring you in your eyes, "Y/n what was Erwin talking about? When he said he had to step in."

Your eyes flashed in embarrassment, "Oh yeah that. Dad got upset because Ann took up for me over something stupid and he laid into her. I mean he was telling her to shut up and I snapped. I told him he couldn't talk to her like that, how he had the issue with me and not to take it out on her. I was 19 and he took my car away and he shut down my phone," you chuckled at the memory, "and that punishment didn't last but 3 days because I was working full time and he didn't want to have to drive me to work every day. I remember being so pissed off because after all of that... he pouted like a child for days, ignoring me until I apologized." You shook your head, your anger surfacing for a second.

"Sometimes he makes me so angry," You whispered as if ashamed, "and there were some days where I hated him so much. I couldn't even look at him and say 'I love you' back.... because I wasn't sure if I did."

You felt a hand rest on yours, but you couldn't bear to look at him because the nights previous tears were begging to be shed.

For the first time ever, you heard Levi apologize. Not because of something he did... but instead on behalf of your father. You shook your head, "Levi please... Don't apologize for something you haven't done. I'd ask him to apologize but he's too arrogant to think he's at fault. It's just something I'll have to live with," you turned your hand, both of your palms facing one another.

He gripped your hand tight. "Well, you won't have to alone, that's for sure." He squeezed your hand in his, the pressure assuring you of his words, "And for the record, I'm more apologizing for the fact I wasn't there." He lifted your hand to his chest as if holding it there would help him more.

You rolled your eyes attempting to fight off a smile, "It's not your fault again, I purposefully kept you out of the loop, so the first time you met him would be a neutral conversation for you."

"Too late for that." His lips barely lifted into a smirk, "Let's just hope your old man respects you otherwise we'll have a problem."

You sighed, shaking your head, "Of course we will."

You stood from the bar stool, prepared to put your plate away, but as always Levi took over. Without a word his eyes telling you to stay exactly where you were.

Afterall... cleaning was his domain, and you did really like to watch him clean.

Extra;
*kung fu panda 2 playing in the background*
*Hange, Erwin, and Ann were sitting on the couch halfway paying attention to it*
Hange: Ten bucks they're dating in the morning.
Erwin: Make it 15 and it's a deal.
Ann: Make it 50 and you're both on.
**
Levi: I do really like you but also if we confirm the dating rumors your sister gets some extra cash... which works for us both...
Y/N: Sooo are you doing this for the cash? Or because you like me?
Levi: Like is actually the biggest understatement... I love you.
Y/N: shut uppp

I Remember Everything|Part 2|Levi x Evelyn AU
Tumblr media
(A/N: Part two as promised! Thank you again for the original request, hope you enjoy! I'll do a part three soon, since this one got a little long <3)
WARNINGS: cheating, second chance, violence, yandere themes/behaviours, misogyny, etc.
================================================
A gasp brought air back into Levi's lungs, jolting him awake. How long had it been since he was out? Was this the afterlife? He remembered the cold blade sticking into his flesh, the life slowly draining out of him, Petra's face, mocking him. What kind of afterlife was it to be back in his own rooms? He'd always that heaven would at least be a little more interesting, but he supposed he couldn't complain so long as he wasn't in hell like he thought.
"Your majesty, it's time to get up." The voice came from the other side of the door. Was he a king even when dead? None of this made any damn sense.
Levi swung his legs over the side of his plush bed, everything was the same, except there was no blood staining his ornate rug. He rushed to the balcony, only to not find the thousands of enemy troops waiting at his kingdom's doorstep. Had it all been a dream? Some horrible thing that his mind had come up with during his grief? Maybe Evelyn was right, he should learn to cope, or else he'd continue to have those crazy dreams.
He made a point of shaking off how real it felt.
================================================
Levi dressed quickly, hurrying down the stairs of the palace only to nearly faint at the sight of his father, alive and well. It was impossible, he'd seen his father's lifeless body with his own eyes, how could he be here?
"What the hell is going on-"
"Levi, you're awake." It sounded like him, a pretty convincing ghost, if ghosts were real.
"What are you doing here?"
"I told you I was leaving at midday, I don't know why you're so surprised."
Levi remembered vaguely acknowledging that his father had left to oversee one of his newest ventures before he took ill. But that was months ago, why was this all happening now?
His mother followed in, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek to her darling boy, the darling boy who would tear this kingdom apart with his own hands.
Levi was still reeling from all of this when motion at his side made him turn. Once dead, now alive, Evelyn stepped past him. She was just as he remembered, wearing that blue gown that drove him mad. Come to think of it, she had worn that the day his father took ill as well, she'd kissed him on the cheek too. Since everything else was following those events he waited eagerly for the show of affection. One that never came, instead of greeting him warmly and with a smile she walked right past him without a second glance.
"Evelyn." He couldn't stop himself from calling out to her.
"Yes, your majesty?" While her tone was respectful, her eyes were icy blue with a glare that even gave him shivers.
Levi shook it off. "Well?"
She gives him a look like she doesn't understand, when he knows she does. "Well, what?"
"Where's my kiss?" He hated how he sounded like a spoiled brat.
"I don't think that's appropriate your majesty, considering we aren't married yet."
Levi blinked, that had never stopped her before, heat pooling his gut as he recalled all those stolen kisses, the promise of more once they were officially wed.
"Speaking of, we should discuss when that will be." His father's voice the only thing to draw Levi's attention away from the only person not acting as she had.
"About that." Evelyn spoke up, a both sorrowful and determined expression on her face. "I know this is sudden, but I'd like to end our engagement."
Levi wasn't the only one to be stunned, but his far exceeded his parents. What could she mean? Just before Petra they had been madly in love. Her once loving, caring eyes now look at Levi with coldness and disgust. She is no longer the little girl Levi knew as a child.
"You're not serious." His mother was the first to speak. "We invite you into our home, this has been arranged since you were children-! Who's going to-"
"Enough." Levi's father silences all other discussion. "This is a terrible mistake Evelyn, you will be Queen one day, how could you throw it all away? For what? Is there someone else?"
"No one else, Levi's just not the man I thought he was. In fact, he's not much of a man at all."
Her stare, mixed with her expression sent a jolt through Levi. He remembered that same look when she'd confronted him, spitting out that she thought he wasn't a man, nor her king. Did she know? He considered himself a smart man, this whole day was a second chance for him to turn things around. It seemed that he could undo all his mistakes, and no one had a memory of what he'd done. Except Evelyn.
No that was silly, it was just a coincidence. He hadn't started his affair until after his father died, she couldn't have known. Perhaps she was just having an off day.
"You can't Evelyn, we're betrothed. The embarrassment." He offered, weakly.
"I'm sure Petra will help you recover."
"What has Petra got to do with this?" He was testing the waters now, seeing what she knew, if anything.
"Nothing your majesty, you just seem to be close with her, that's all."
It seemed Evelyn didn't know quite as much as he thought then, that was a good sign.
"Even still, I can't let you just walk out on this-" A hint of desperation came into his voice, he couldn't repeat all of his mistakes.
"If the girl doesn't want you, she doesn't Levi." His father ended Levi's protests. "I don't know what you did to make her reject you like this, but I'm sure I'll get out the full story one way or another boy." The way he said "boy" made Levi's blood boil, the old bastard had a way of demeaning him. He wouldn't be sorry when he died a second time.
"Yes, I'm sure you will." He spat out.
"I'm disappointed in you Evelyn." He continued. "But I'll honor your wishes, you're excused to pack your things."
Evelyn nods, standing to curtsy before brushing by Levi again, her chilly look causing him to shiver again.
He watched her leave, a strong sense of longing and something else deep within him. He had to put things right before she walked out on him forever.
================================================
Levi pounded on Evelyn's door, trying the handle to find it locked. "Eve, open up."
"Don't call me that."
He was stunned for a moment at her audacity, he was still heir apparent after all. "Listen sweetheart we have to talk."
"Don't call me that either."
He paused, surprised that she didn't even like his other pet names for her. "You love it when I call you those pet names."
"I used to."
Levi's suspicions flared, she had to know. "Look whatever I've done to upset you, we can talk about it, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding."
"I doubt that."
He tries the door again, irritation raging within him. "Goddamn it Evelyn just open the fucking door."
"I have nothing to say to you."
"No, no, no. You can't do this, you can't just shut me out, it's not fair. You owe me an explanation."
"For what?"
"For this! For wanting to leave me, we're going to be married, always were. Why do this now? Tell me."
"I'm not going to waste my breath on you Levi, I'm very busy packing."
He hesitated, unsure if he should reveal his cards just yet. He had to know, he could explain and they would undo all of the shit he'd gotten them into.
"Look Eve...do you..." He mentally berated himself for sounding like such a coward. "If you feel like...you know something about me. Something that would cause you to end our relationship...then you can talk to me. You know what I mean? We can talk, we've always talked." He pauses again, rubbing the back of his neck. "Whatever you think I did...whatever you might, remember of me. I didn't-" He takes a deep breath. "Just please, talk to me."
There's a long stretch of silence, Levi's heart beating wildly. He wasn't quite sure what to expect, but he figured anything would be better than the deafening silence that lay between them.
Finally the door opens, but instead of Evelyn ready to invite him in and talk things out, she brushes past him, a small bag in hand. "I'll send for the rest of my things."
He grabs her wrist. "You can't just walk out, not like this."
She twists her hand out of his grip. "Goodbye Levi."
All Levi can do is watch helplessly as she continues to walk out of his home and life. There was nothing he could do short of physically restraining her to stop it. A wave anger overcame him.
"Fine! Walk out! See if I care, there's hundreds of women who would take your place in an instant. If you're so immature that we can't even have a conversation then I don't want anything to do with you either!" He kicked the wall, his boots just barely protecting his toes from the impact. It was childish, but he didn't care, he was too upset to think like a future king. If she was going to do this to him then he would find a way to replace her and never look back.
================================================
Right on schedule all the previous events played out exactly as they should. His father falling ill, passing with the ominous words to be a man and take care of the kingdom. Once before Levi had taken those words for granted, paying the price. Now he was determined to take them seriously, so that he could undo his mistakes.
If he had thought Evelyn's constant meddling to ask about his feelings was annoying, her absence was unbearable. Even though he had vented to her out of anger, at least he had an outlet. There was nothing he could do now but wallow in his grief.
With new eyes Levi saw exactly what was happening around him, Petra's convenient approach, eyelashes batting. It disgusted him, knowing the truth, but he couldn't just accuse her without proof. He had to smart about this.
Levi was going to bring her down first.

Hello dear. I love your cute Levi's books.
pediatric doctor Levi x Eren Yeager's mom reader female
The reader is the daughter of Grisha and Dina. She is Zeke's younger sister.
She has just signed a divorce with her current ex-husband, taking custody of her son, Eren. Eren is a 5 year old boy. She moves to her parents' town after her divorce.
Zeke takes Eren to play baseball but accidentally ends up breaking his little finger. Zeke takes him to the hospital and ends up being treated by Levi. Zeke calls his sister and she arrives worried about her little boy. Eren is a mama's baby.
Detail, Levi is a single man and is not in a relationship with anyone.
Levi ends up falling in love with the protagonist, but Petra, the nurse, will try everything to stop them from being together.
I leave the plot development up to you. Thanks. ❤️
Hi, thank you for sending me a request.
Unfortunately, I don't do long fic requests only oneshot requests. I'm happy to do a scene where Levi is a doctor and meets the reader with her kid or a friend's kid and that moment where they fall for each other or it's the start of something.
I also stay away from making Petra the bad guy as well cause she was a really cool character in AOT and I don't believe she had any romantic feelings for Levi.
Anyway, let me know if you want a small snippet instead of Dr Levi falling for reader who brings in their kid or something else.
Thank you again for taking the time to read my things and send me a request.

searching for aot/attack on titan writing partners (updated NEVER EXPIRES)
Elle. 20+. GMT. discord/tumblr/docs. I'm a long-term roleplayer and I will literally send you memes and HCs and create Pinterest boards and google docs one hour after we start talking because I'm both stupid and unhinged. I joke around a lot but be critical of the media you consume or leave, also this is a no bigotry zone.
WE'LL GET ALONG IF:
You are older than 19 years old.
You’re not interested in smut-centered plots.
You’re genuinely ok with doubling up. I've been roleplaying for over a decade, trust me it's blatant when someone is forcing themselves to write a character they don't want to write.
You're okay with discussing family-centered content, even if it's not realistic / just in an AU - I love talking about families and our characters as parents, so this is a must for me.
You don’t care intensely about following what’s canon: my philosophy is to look at the world that is provided to us and turn it into our playground.
You like plots with a mixture of realism and clichés: realism is VERY important to me especially when writing ships, but i WILL conjugate that realism with more cringy elements (like love triangles, pinning, and accidental pregnancies).
You’ll match my energy. I'm going to jump right to plotting and shipping to gauge if we’ll be compatible or not because I don’t like to waste time.
You can communicate and be enthusiastic: I'm a very devoted roleplay partner. I don't expect us to talk every day and I don't expect fast replies, but if we don’t interact for 2 weeks, I'll clock out.
You'll explore mature topics with respect. I don't have trigger warnings and enjoy writing potentially triggering topics like manipulation, religious themes, and memory loss etc, but let's always be respectful.
what i'm interested in writing:
please know that ilse langnar, mike/miche zacharias, and eld gin are my main characters and i will always want to throw them at you, in a ship or in a brotp or i any other dynamic.
i only write m/f ships with new writing partners, sorry!
erwin smith x f oc
zeke yeager x f oc or pieck finger (i can write either)
porco galliard x f oc or pieck finger (i can write either)
marcel galliard x f oc
levi ackerman x f oc
and also:
reiner braun x f oc (selective with this one, need to discuss plot ideas first)
jean kirstein x f oc
jean kirstein x hitch dreyse
erwin smith x f oc
zeke yeager x f oc
mike zacharias x f oc
gunther schultz x f oc

Levi stared at you dismissively, as if he was disgusted by your presence, scoffing. With a pile of smoke, the pretty Natasha appeared with her same victorious smirk.
As she emerged from the black smoke, she began kissing almost voraciously her boyfriend. They kept kissing and spitting in each other’s mouths, touching the other wherever their hands could reach and occasionally moaning. You were trying to look away, but your neck was rigid and unmoving, eyes fixed on the scene in front of you. Before they could get to the more intimate part, another pile of smoke covered them. This time, when they emerged, the scene was different: all your friends and your parents sat elegantly on white painted and carved wooden chairs, looking intently at something in front of them. As they caught up on your presence, their heads whipped in your direction at neck-snapping speed, and you suddenly felt self-conscious, making yourself smaller by curving your spine and hugging your torso with your arms. Petra and Hange laughed at you, while your parents shook their heads in defeat, as if they were ashamed of you because they had realized they hadn’t done a good job raising you. A loud fanfare brought their attention back to what looked like a neatly carved and decorated white wooden altar, filled with so many flowers you wouldn’t be surprised if bees started joining the group. Levi stood there, wearing his best smile, along with a tailored black suit that matched perfectly his silky hair, fringe framing beautifully his features. A happy Natasha came up from behind you with Gunther leading her to the altar, she wore a puffy white gown and an embroidered veil hid partially her features.
You knew perfectly what was going on: you’d seen this thousands of times in your dreams, only it was you instead of Natasha and the guests didn’t act so rude towards you.
Since you were a child, you used to run around saying you’d get married to the perfect man, your father fuming with jealousy though unable to do anything but play along or at least try to change the argument.
Your parents had been together since they were seventeen, so they’d raised the bar pretty high: how would you ever find a man you’d want to live your life with forever? A man that was going to share your dreams, passions, nightmares and mistakes and that would help you get through them and grow stronger.
You’d always thought about this person as Levi, but he surely didn’t. He loved Natasha. You had been too late to tell him your feelings, so it was only fair he got his happy ending, and it hurt you to say you were happy to know he had found the love of his life, even though it wasn’t her.
Just as they were about to kiss, two little kids sprinted through you as if you were made of air, the scene changing again. This time you were in a small cottage, a mouth-watering smell came from the kitchen, there was a thirty year old Levi playing on the floor with a tiny baby, looking at him like he was the most precious thing in the world. Confused, you headed to where the smell came from: Natasha was cooking a hearty meal, her and Levi’s children playing tag in the living room as their exhausted yet happy looking father scolded them and tried to get them to sit down.
Something warm fell on your cheek, and you looked up confused: was it raining inside their house? However, the only thing you could see was a perfectly clean ceiling with absolutely no signs of water leakage. As more liquid fell on your cheek, you went to wipe it off with your hand.
Sniffling quietly, you turned to examine your hand: were you crying? You usually knew when you were, because it came with a sickening feeling in your stomach and your throat closing on itself.
Instead of see-through droplets of tears, your hand was covered in a gooey red liquid.
Shocked, you almost fell on your back, realizing those weren’t tears, that was…blood.
“AAAHHHHH” You yelled, getting up at light-speed, breath coming in short and heart beating faster than your horse’s hooves when she galloped.
Mind filling with questions, you realized it had all been a simple dream and, not so long after, all your memories came back in a split second.
Where was your horse? Where was Lily?
Only then, you noticed a huge creature licking your face: there she was! Your Lily!
You went to scratch the back of her head, but a sharp pain in your shoulder and forearm stopped you in your tracks.
You soon realized your whole body hurt and you couldn’t get up and as you looked around, you realized you couldn’t see from your right eye. With the little strength you had left, you went to open your eye manually, thinking that your eyelids were simply stuck, like they usually were after particularly long naps.
However, as you touched your forehead, pain filled your senses once again.
Your chest tightened, suddenly the oxygen wasn’t enough for you anymore and tears pooled your left eye, all the tell-tale signs of a panic attack. You’d been getting them ever since you’d first faced the Titans and watched in horror as many of your peers were eaten alive by ruthless and filthy beasts. You didn’t have anyone to calm you down, so you panicked furthermore, knowing you were completely alone in an unknown forest in the middle of lands were Titans lived.
How were you going to survive out here, when you couldn’t even deal with your own emotions?
Going to rest once again on your back, you slowed down your ragged breathing. You weren’t fine, not in the slightest. But, if you’d survived a pack of a dozen of Titans all alone, with the only help of your four-legged friend, you could also get through this and survive. It wasn’t about having the perfect life, saving everyone and having a happy ending anymore. Right now, you had to focus on surviving, lasting the night. That wouldn’t be so hard, right?
Ignoring the skull destroying pain, you got up and on your horse. You saw your weapons and cloak scattered across the ground, Levi surely would’ve told you to pick it up. “Never litter” He used to say.
But he wasn’t hear now, was he? No, he’d left you to die as he saved himself and rode off to his stupid happy ever after with an as much stupid Natasha. You hated him, you loathed him. Your friends had left you, accepting your sacrifice without looking back. You would’ve turned back for them, you were sure you would’ve. But no, how do they repay the years of friendship and kindness? They turn their backs on you, following some sick b!tch and leaving you to die like you were nothing but a minor inconvenience to them. But most of all, you hated yourself for sacrificing your future for them, for ever believing they could like you back and accept you as one of their own. Truth is, you were never like them. Only now, you realized that maybe, it was a good thing that you’d gone your separate ways in the end, you were as much glad as them to be apart; as your father would say: “good riddance”.
The newfound anger gave you the strength to get up on your horse, and the thought of your loving family kept you awake, watching out for any Titans or wild animals.
In the meanwhile, Lily brought you deeper in the forest. You didn’t know why she was doing it, but you trusted her. She had kept you alive after you’d killed all the Titans for god knows how long, so you couldn’t do anything but thank her and trust her again.
Relief washed over you as you saw she was leading you to a small river, clear water gurgling loudly like your baby cousin whenever food was around.
Suddenly, you realized how hungry and thirsty you were, so without wasting any time, you ate a few apples from a nearby tree, drank the river’s water and started washing your face.
Scrubbing hard to get the dried blood off, you decided it wouldn’t hurt to clean up yourself a bit. As quickly as your cut and bruised limbs could, you tore off your blood and dirt soaked clothes, opting to clean those as well, or at least, to clean the remnants of your clothes, seeing how much they were also cut and reduced to rags.
The cold current helped you clear your mind, yet all the color was drained from your face as you saw your reflection in the water.
A huge gash ran from your forehead, to your left eye and down to your upper lip.
What would Levi think…No, you didn’t care about what he thought, that dumbass prick. He didn’t deserve to be in your presence, so you wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.
As you dried off with a piece of your cloak, you put on your drenched clothes and got on Lily once more.
Right after stopping to eat something herself, she led you out of the forest, following the course of the small river through the hills and vast lands. She didn’t gallop, probably because she was also hurt and tired, but you didn’t usher her to a faster pace, enjoying the feeling of the sun drying your clothes and the soft cool wind playing with your hair. You sat in silence, obviously, you didn’t have anyone to talk to, but his time, you also had inner silence, a long lost peace that eased your senses and let a more calm and mindful version of you take over.
The ride was long, but you didn’t mind. You were happy to have a few moments to regain control over your body and think about what you were going to do next.
You knew you couldn’t go back to the Scouts. It would have been self-harm, you’d started to hate those who lived there, getting more and more repelled by them as time passed. You knew what you were going to do: you wanted peace and quiet, and there was only one place where you could feel that: your parents’ bakery. Yes, you would go back to your parents, stay to live with them and work at the shop as you did when you were younger.
The only problem now was, how would you be able to avoid the Scouts, after having been one of them most of your life? They all thought you were dead, so it wouldn’t hurt any of you if they kept thinking that, right? You could pretend to be someone else, change your life and have the happy ending you deserved. Nobody would have to know, except for your parents, of course.
You couldn’t wait to see and hug them again. You would take care of Lily all together in the back of your house, you’d take her on a ride in the early morning and in the late afternoons, feed her and then help your parents bake and sell the goods, you would be normal again.
You were so lost in your own thoughts, you almost didn’t notice the huge walls appearing in the distance: you’d made it! You had defeated a pack of Titans all by yourselves and gotten out of it alive!
Joy filled you as you kept your slow pace, not wanting to tire out Lily too much.
After what felt like hours, you had reached the small entrance that separated the inner lands from the outer ones. It was small enough so that the river could pass through and a big gate blocked the entrance from small animals.
The only problem now was getting inside the Walls. As Sundown approached, painting the sky with magnificent violet and red hues, you got an idea. The gate was strong and thick, even though it was old, so you couldn’t possibly try to break it, but it certainly didn’t go too much deep, and, being old, the river must’ve dug its bed lower, so there was a slim chance you could get in by swimming under it.
You didn’t have any other choice: even if you would’ve wanted the Scouts’ help, you should’ve followed the Walls and keep walking for hours or maybe even days, and you were nor in the right state to do it nor would you risk another encounter with the Titans.
You got off Lily and immersed yourself in the cold water. You couldn’t touch the bottom, so this could mean one out of two things: you were either going to drown, or you would have enough space to swim under the gate and get successfully inside the Walls.
It wasn’t the time to dwell, so, without wasting any time and trying not to think about the first possibility, you took a deep breath and ducked under the water surface.
Immediately, you felt a strong current pushing you in the opposing direction, but with the small strength you had left, you grabbed a rock from the river bed and used it to push yourself towards the gate.
You swiftly took note of how quickly your lungs were running out of oxygen, you had to be fast, otherwise, you would’ve drowned or had to go back to the surface.
Shaking your head as determination flowed in your veins, you kept swimming towards the bottom of the river, until you were able to get a stable grip on the sharp rocks and advance by using them as holds.
Not after long, your head hit a metallic bar. Sh!t, you thought, the gate went far deeper than you’d imagined. As the rough metal cut through your skin like a sharpened knife on butter, you broke the barrier and resurfaced on the other side of the walls.
You were finally safe! You were brought back to reality when you heard a familiar neigh: good god, how were you going to let Lily pass? You hadn’t thought about it before, but you certainly couldn’t leave her outside. Titans may not devour animals, but it would be like losing your best friend, and that had already happened in the past few days, so you couldn’t endure the pain again, this time knowing it was fully your fault.
Nobody was around, but after getting completely out of the freezing waters, you saw a small metal piece, almost like a locket, holding the gate in place from the inside.
Eureka! Ignoring the pain in your scraped back, you reached for the locket and destroyed it with a nearby piece of wood. You then proceeded to open the gate just barely enough so that Lily could pass. Thankfully, your smart and brave horse had realized your intentions and was already in the water, waiting for you to guide her inside the Walls.
After you’d successfully gotten her inside, you closed the gate with a loud clang! And managed to lock them in place with some wood and rocks in the area.
Once you were on solid ground, an almost hysterical laugh broke out, your eyes tearing up from all the pain you’d endured both physically and mentally.
You hugged Lily tightly, as if she would’ve escaped and left you otherwise. Pressing your face in her wet mane, you calmed down and relaxed, preparing yourself for another couple of hours of riding.
Just as you thought you would have to wait another couple of days before getting back to your family, a familiar voice stopped you in your tracks: “Y/n, is that you?”
Turning around, you recognized the elder woman standing just feet from you. She wore a long maroon skirt and white long-sleeved shirt, the usual rope tightened around her waist in order to keep the outfit from falling apart. She had the same old black leather boots, stained with so much dirt they almost looked brown, her grey hair was intertwined in two long braids and, atop of her crinkled forehead, rested an embroidered red headband, gift from her spouse, also dirty with flour and all the ingredients you used in a bakery.
Oh, you’d never tell it to her face but how you missed your mother! “Mom?”
“Aw sweetie!” She ran towards you, the sack of dirty clothes long forgotten on the river’s shore, hugging you so tightly you thought she was going to squeeze you to death.
“Goodness have I missed you! The Lord must’ve heard my prayers and sent you back to me! Oh I knew you weren’t dead, you wouldn’t have ever left us without saying goodbye!” She said, breathing in your wonderful smell of sewer and blood.
“Well, I don’t know how much your Lord has to do with my return, though I must say this, I’m glad to be back.” You admitted, reciprocating her hug.
You spent a few seconds in silence, until you remembered you had broken probably a couple of bones all over your torso and had a very pretty gash on your side, right where your mother was hugging you from where blood started spilling like milk from a pregnant cow’s breasts.
“Ahh fudge!” You dropped to your knees in pain, hugging your lower abdomen to try to contain the bleeding.
“Oh my Goodness Y/n! What happened?” Your mother exclaimed, kneeling beside you.
“A pack of Titans and that stupid gate happened.” You hissed, clenching your teeth.
“Wait here, I have some rags with which I can wrap your wounds.” She ran back to the bag of dirty clothes.
“It’s not like I was just about to run away…”
“Here, take this in your mouth or you’ll risk biting your tongue, I’m sorry if it stings a bit.” She  offered you an old sweater, starting to wrap a white sheet over your torso.
You wanted to yell, but with that stupid fabric only muffled strangled sounds came out.
Sting?! Seriously, what injuries was this lady used to? This didn’t sting, it felt like your skin was being ripped from your body and then sewn back together!
Right when she finished, a wave of nausea hit you and you vomited whatever you had left in your stomach into the flowing river.
You were only barely half-conscious as your mother got you back on top of Lily and brought you to your house, where you were fell asleep in a matter of seconds, scratch that, milliseconds.
You woke up to your mom cleaning your face with a wet cloth and whispering sweet nonsense to your not-anymore-sleeping figure. You didn’t get up, but you could see the sun shining through the open window.
“How long have I been out for?” You asked, voice hoarse.
“Since we last met? Half a day. In total? 5 days.” She gave you a cup of water which you took gratefully.
“What?” You spit all the water from the shock. After you’d fought the Titans, you’d been unconscious for four days? You really had to give Lily a sweet treat after all she’d done for you.
Reading your mind with her mother powers, she reassured you: “Don’t worry, Lily’s fine. Your father fed her this morning and I helped clean up her wounds.”
You smirked victoriously, falling back on the bed.
“What? Why are you smiling?” Your mother asked you, sitting beside you on the linen sheets.
“You called my horse by her given name. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard you say it.” You told her. Your mother had a…rocky relationship with pets, especially horses. She didn’t like them because they were constantly stinky and dirty and made nothing but messes wherever they went in home areas.
“I never hated pets, you know. I just…”
“Couldn’t stand them?” You offered to complete her sentence, receiving a newspaper in the head.
“Ouch, okay sorry. I’ll let you finish.” You said, caressing your head where you felt a couple of stitches that weren’t there before.
“You’re right, but she did save you after all. You might be one of the most skilled, if not the most skilled soldier in the entire country, but I realize you couldn’t have done that without a loyal friend.” She said, earning a confused look from you as you tried to look into the real meaning of what she’d said.
“So I guess you know.” She knew about to the whole Hange and Levi Squad breaking.
“We had a funeral, for you, a couple of days back. They were all invited of course, and they told me what happened.” She explained, but only then did you realize how much your ‘death’ had influenced her. Her eyes held a mix of sadness, grief and another emotion you couldn’t quite put the finger on.
Nonetheless, you hugged her, or at least nuzzled your face into her neck, still unable to properly move your limbs.
“I’m very angry with them, you know. I may not know how you’ve felt, what you still may feel, but I realize they’ve been complete assholes to you, leaving my poor baby without looking back to save themselves. Such selfish pricks! Oh, and how they went against your back! I’m sure that Natasha chick must be a part of this. You need to go tell them they’ve acted like little sh!ts to you and need to earn your forgiveness.” She said, getting angrier with every word she spat. Perhaps you did know, after all, what that other emotion was.
“Hey mom, calm down. I’m here now, so don’t you worry about the what ifs or whatever.” You reassured her, taking a big breath before adding: “Besides, I don’t think I want to go back there. Not…ever.”
You looked down at your wrapped up hands in defeat: what would she think of you? A soldier that quits her job simply because of a minor inconvenience, a small problem that occurred in delicate times?
You didn’t expect, however, the big bear hug she took you in, sniffling quietly and telling you: “You may be confused right now, but it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve heard these days, right after your laugh that yesterday led me to finding you. You’ll understand once you’re a mom too.”
You smiled, a few tears running down your scarred face: “Now slow down, who told you I’m ever going to become a mom?”
“Mother instincts.” She laughed off, getting out of your view to let your father hug you.
“Dad!”
“Y/n you’re finally awake. Blimey I’ve missed you.” He responded.
“Yeah, I know. Me too.” You said, getting out of the tight hug to rest.
“You don’t know how much surprised and happy I was when your mother came back from cleaning the clothes at the river yesterday with you on Lily! I thought I was in a dream, but once I saw you, I knew it was true. You’ve been saved by a miracle.” He said.
“And by your extraordinary skills as a warrior.” Your mother added, beaming proudly.
“Yes yes, that too, obviously!” You’d never sen your father this excited but hey, he did just get the news that his lost daughter was alive and well.
“I’m very happy to be finally here with you, mom and dad. Though I need to tell you something.” You started, getting their attention. You then explained how you wanted to stay hidden, let everyone else still think you were dead in order to start a new life. You offered to become their foster kid, an orphan they’d adopted to replace their daughter with because the loss had hit them too hard. You would’ve worn a mask for precaution, but you knew that, with your scars and perhaps a new haircut and different clothing, nobody would recognize you anyway. You would live here, in the house above the bakery and work downstairs in the food-making process, this way, you wouldn’t have to go out too much and risk being recognized by someone.
Your parents, even though reluctantly, swore to be by your side, always, even if it meant keeping you a secret and lying when other people were involved.
Then, they left you to sleep and the sounds of birds chirping and wind blowing through the treetops, while downstairs the bakery was being reopened after days of mourning break, lulled you to a deep and dreamless slumber.
TIME-SKIP
You were kneading the bread dough, putting all your strength in the folds. You didn’t have the same muscles as you did when you were in the Scouts, but you weren’t weak either. The thought reminded of all the time spent training with your old companions, and you felt nostalgic. They may have acted bad to you and you may not have been able to forgive them, but you hadn’t seen them in a year and a half, having to start over your entire life. Even if you would’ve wanted to rejoin the Scouts, due to all your scars and injuries, you couldn’t have. Your injuries were far more than you could count, from the face scar to the gashes on your back and a broken ankle, those had all healed, with the right amount of rest and medicines, but you had also suffered from a few broken ribs, which had probably came in contact and perhaps scratched your lungs, as your mother, an ex-doctor, had told you. You obviously kept your promise of taking Lily out for a ride once or twice a day, but you couldn’t go on runs anymore, and many days you felt kind of…useless. You always reminded yourself you were doing it for your benefit, but many what ifs wandered in your mind whenever you weren’t focusing on a designated task. That’s why you kept working hard everyday, both on the rehab and the new job as a baker, at which you could proudly say to have become great. Sometimes, thinking about your past life, you wondered what was up with your old friends. You’d heard Levi and Natasha had gotten in a bad fight and broken up roughly weeks after your ‘death’. Turns out, the chick only wanted to be with him for the fame and everything, so, when he questioned her about it, she got angry with him, painting herself the victim in the story because ‘her own boyfriend didn’t trust her’. You felt sorry for your old Captain, but nothing else. The love you’d harbored for years had almost vanished, leaving you to ask yourself if it had ever been real.
Almost, because, whenever he came with his Squad to eat at the bakery, you could feel your heart beat faster and your breath come in shorter than usual.
After your death, presumably as a way to cope and remember you, they’d started to go to breakfast every Sunday at your parents’ bakery, eating and chatting loudly in the room next to where you were currently working. Only a small wall wooden door separated you from your past life, yet you’d swore to yourself you’d never cross it, and nor did you intend to. A small part of you wanted to go greet them, tell them you were alive, become friends again and have your old life back. But you refrained from doing so, still hurt from your friends’ words and actions from the days before you’d left. If one person had been able to turn them all against you, it meant they weren’t real friends and, as your mom repeated you almost every night, they didn’t deserve you. You deserved someone that could treat you well, but you could only find your soulmate by going to new places; however, since you weren’t both mentally and physically ready to do so, you’d just have to wait for a bit, be patient a little longer.
You were so lost in your own Wonderland, you didn’t realize your mother was sneaking up on you, offering you a freshly baked small milk loaf. “Eat Y/n, or else you won’t have the strength to properly knead the dough.”
“Are you saying I’m not doing it right?” You asked, mocking an offended expression.
“You know that your clients have almost doubled since I took over the kitchen, right?” You said.
“Yeah, yeah, I know sweetie. You’re the best in anything you like to do.” She kissed the top of your forehead.
You opened your mouth wide, keeping your focus on your current task, your mother taking the hint and shoving the piece of sweet bread in your mouth, leaving the rest for herself.
A loud voice suddenly boomed from the other room, where the clients were dealt with by your kind yet austere mother. “Good morning Miss Y/Ln!”
You recognized it right away: it belonged to your ex-best friend, Hange Zoe. After Levi, she was the one that had taken your death the hardest, probably blaming herself for how she’d acted towards you. As your mother had told you, much like Levi, she had grieved much and mourned your death, closing in on herself from her friends and family and overworking herself. You kind of felt bad for her, but you also knew it wasn’t your fault for having been treated poorly, sacrificed your future to save others and then finally aspired to a better life.
“Hello Hange! Wait a minute my dear, I’ll be there soon!” Your mother yelled, still munching on her breakfast.
“Don’t worry Miss! Me and the guys are going to take our spot at the usual table, you can come whenever you’re ready.” Hange answered with her usual joyfulness. After months of avoiding any kind of interpersonal relationship, she’d finally opened up, starting to spend a lot of time with Levi in order to help each other heal from your passing.
Your mother sent you a sorrowful look, to which you responded with an encouraging nod. After all that time, you didn’t hate your friends anymore, but you surely didn’t want to meet them again and ruin all the progress and hard work you’d done to get used to the new life and feel better.
Without a word, she went to get the newly-arrived clients’ orders, leaving you to punch angrily your dough, a very efficient way to relieve yourself from all the stress and negative feelings.
You were putting some batches of cupcakes in the oven, when you overheard Hange say, from the other room: “Miss, we’d really like to go tell the baker in person how good the breakfast tasted.”
“Now don’t you worry Hange! I’ll tell my husband you’ve appreciated the meal, you don’t have to bother going in yourself.” Your mother tried to stop your friends from entering the room where you were currently working.
It had happened a couple of times before, and usually, Hange left at that point, acknowledging somebody had to work and couldn’t be interrupted by a bunch of clients who simply wanted to compliment him.
You didn’t think much of it, not even bothering to put on your mask for precaution.
However, that morning didn’t exactly go as usual, as Hange kept insisting: “No Miss, I have to insist. Besides, we all really want to know how her father is doing after…you know.”
Your mother chuckled, panicking internally: “Ohh, you kids are so sweet! But, you know, her father isn’t actually in there, he went in town to buy a few bags of flour and sugar. Anyways, it’s been a year and a half, so we’re all better now, thank you for your concern.”
Nonetheless, Gunther also started insisting: “Miss, what are you hiding? You never let us get into that room and, how come there’s noise coming from it if there’s nobody inside?”
Your mother was running out of ideas right now, but you didn’t realize how fragile of a situation this was, all your attention on decorating some pastries that had just finished cooking.
She tried to explain herself: “Oh Gunther, you nosy kid! What could we possibly be hiding? No, there isn’t anybody in there, the noise is coming from the…the oven! There are some cupcakes baking and a batch has already finished cooking, I can go grab some for you if you’d like.”
“Why won’t you let us get inside?” Erd and Petra spoke up.
“There’s just…there’s a lot of chaos and the whole kitchen’s a mess, I’m a bit embarrassed because I haven’t had time to clean in a while.” Your mother felt cold sweat trickling down her temples, putting herself in front of the wooden door to block the entrance.
“We can help you clean!” Oluo proposed, earning a nod of approval from Hange and small glares from the rest of the team.
“No, don’t worry. There’s no need…” Your mother was barely able to finish the sentence as an angry Levi stormed inside the kitchen, wanting to check what was up with this mysterious room.
What he didn’t expect to see, was a familiar head of h/c hair.
Confused, he stepped further in the room, finally getting your attention as you turned to look what was happening.
His silvery gray eyes bored into your soul with a mix of shock, grief, sadness and something else you couldn’t quite recognize.
He looked…different. His formerly neat and combed hair was slightly disheveled, giving him a kind of messy look which didn’t exactly look good on him. His eyes held the biggest eye-bags you’d ever seen, his once perfectly smoothed and clean clothing was a bit wrinkly and dirty and the usual disinterested elegance and perfection of his demeanor was now muffled by a new tired and grieving one. To sum up, he looked the worst you’d ever seen him in your entire life.
However, his voice was the same, that attractively serious and scolding tone you’d learned to both love and hate.
“Y/n…” He breathed, as if seeing you had taken all the air out of his lungs.
You tried to speak, you really did. But words simply wouldn’t come out of your dry throat. No sounds came out of you as you looked around the room helplessly, in search of something you didn’t even know what it was.
In a swift motion, he reached out to grab your hand, yet you visibly refrained from his touch on instinct. For what felt like hours, you simply stood there, acknowledging the other’s presence, while your friends stood wordlessly by the open door and your mom watched carefully what was happening, making hypothesis on how the scene would evolve.
For the first time ever, Levi was the first one to break the ice: “Why?” His voice was broken and hurtful, as if he’d been the one left to die by his own friends.
“I don’t have to explain myself to you, do I guys?” You said, all the suppressed anger coming out at once, as you recalled the sentence with which everything had started.
“Are you still mad at us for that? It happened like a year and a half ago!” Petra suddenly spoke up.
“You left me to die! I was alone!” You said, wishing to be out of there.
“You chose to sacrifice yourself for us! It’s not like we forced you.” Erd added.
“What was I supposed to do? Leave everybody to die! Besides, you have no right to be mad at me.” You responded. What could they hold against you? That you’d been a wonderful friend? That they’d left you and said they were tired of you yet you saved them nonetheless? That you had wanted a new life for yourself after they’d ruined your first one?
“She’s right.” Hange sighed, not tearing her gaze from you. Knowing you better than anybody else, she had sensed you were hurt and were still angry at them.
“We’ve been sh!itty friends, Y/n. We know it, and, what we’re trying to say is…we’re sorry. We truly are…” She added.
“Thank you, Hange. But don’t think this changes anything.” You spat, clenching your fists so hard blood started dripping from the sweaty palms of your hands.
She nodded, stepping out of the room. Perhaps, many would have seen it differently, but you appreciated that gesture. She was giving you time and space to recollect yourself, get back to the right state of mind with which you could make reasonable decisions, thinking about the consequences of what you spoke.
The others imitated her, and you felt your heart beat slow down, even if just of a beat.
However, there was one who seemed to have no intention of stepping away and backing down, instead keeping his ground as the brave Captain he’d always been. Nonetheless, in his eyes, stood no courageousness or mock bravery whatsoever. Those small eyes were the reflection of his soul, filled with a sense of abandonment and loneliness and hurt, but also discipline, for he knew it was only him and his actions that had brought him to this.
“You’re angry, as you should be. However, you were the one to tell me that pushing down and hiding your feelings would do nothing but make them bigger. Let it out.”
And so you did.
You yelled, and you yelled and you yelled. Screaming to the whole world how much you’d suffered and went through because of them. You screamed about how you’d come home broken and devastated, unable to even think about going back to the life you once lived. You told them how you’d hated them for their actions and would never be able to forgive them. You told them about how you had started to hate their guts, especially Natasha’s but also your’s. You told them how you’d never been able to see yourself the same, after all the scars you wore both physical and psychological. You yelled until your lungs ran out of air and your throat felt like it was on fire, yet even then you kept talking. Whispering how much you’d grown and gotten better without their help, how it had been difficult to start over but you’d done it nonetheless, for it was what was best for you and they all knew it.
You didn’t know when or how, but as tears started streaming down your face, as your knees became wobbly and unable to support your own weight, he was there. He didn’t say anything, his worried and troubled expression never once leaving his beautiful features, but he was there to wipe your tears, he was there to fall to his knees with you and then pick up up again, he was there to listen at you screaming at him how much of an assh0le he’d been. He was there for you.
Once you’d calmed down, he hugged you, tighter than you’d ever been hugged, tighter than you thought was possible. Without thinking about it twice, you encircled your arms around him, nuzzling your face in his neck and weeping in his shoulder as he did the same with you, finally breaking of his cold and emotionless walls and letting you see for yourself his vulnerable side, the one he’d kept hidden to everyone for all his life since the death of his mother, because that was how he’d learned to go through his problems: shutting up himself in his own barriers and not letting anyone near him.
After a while, you let go of him, and you saw his red and puffy eyes, his cheeks wet from all the tears.
“I’m sorry for having left you, but I don’t regret it.” You said, smoothing out your skirt as you went to get out of the bakery, wanting, no…needing a break from all of it.
“Please Y/n, wait.” You heard him say. That didn’t stop you though, as you grabbed your coat, ready to get out of here and never have to see their faces again.
“Wait Y/n!” He yelled, making you stop, your eyes trained on the ground in front of you as all your former companions and your mother had left a corridor free for you in order to let you get out undisturbed.
“Why should I?” You asked through gritted teeth.
“Because I love you!” He screamed, taking a shaky breath and running a hand through his messy hair.
In an instant, you turned around to face him and grabbed him by the collar with a menacing scowl on your face. “Then prove it! Leave your life, quit your job and come live here with me. You could finally be at peace and have the happy ending you deserve.”
He stared back at you, eyes wide with horror, observing your every movement as you let go of him and took a step back, waiting for his answer.
“You know I can’t.” He breathed, shoulders slumping with defeat.
“Then don’t expect me to wait for you.”
STOP HERE FOR BITTER-SWEET ENDING. FOR HAPPY ENDING, KEEP READING
10 years had passed. 10 years since the destroying of Wall Maria and the start of the war against the Titans and then Marley. 10 years since you’d lost your friends. 10 years since you’d risked your life for them. 10 years since you’d had to start over with your life. One year less since your friends and the love of your life had suddenly come back in your life, only to leave you again for something much bigger than any of them could control.
In all that time, you hadn’t heard from Levi. You kept telling yourself you didn’t care, but deep down, your heart always dreamt of his return, somehow knowing he was still alive and that he’d come back to you right after all this war was over with.
And so, more unconsciously than the opposite, you waited patiently for him, waiting and waiting and waiting again, sat at the armchair on your porch every evening through hot and cold, sick and healthy, busy and free, angry and happy.
It was a casual Tuesday evening, the same as many that had passed and many that were to come. As usual, you ate your dinner with your parents, finished cleaning up the bakery, made yourself a cup of tea as he used to do every night, your own way of remembering him, and sat down on your old, rusty and used armchair.
Your gaze drifted with the wind to the horizon. It was a beautiful evening with a beautiful sky, a mix of vivid colors reverberating through the atmosphere as a cool soft breeze eased your senses.
Your thoughts went back to the day you’d found him and lost him again, as they always did, like that memory held some kind of magnetic force of attraction that pulled at your mind continuously. It had been very hard to recover from that day, feeling the wounds in your heart and soul open again with lacerating pain. You knew you couldn’t have closed them or sewed them like you’d done with your physical scars, so you’d learned to live with them, keeping them as a constant reminder of what you’d been through, but also of the possibility of what could happen, the small hope he could come back and you’d finally get to spend the rest of your days with the love of your life.
“Hello.” A voice broke you out of your daydream, and suddenly, you felt at Scouts all over again, when you used to zone out thinking about a certain Levi almost every day.
Confused, you slowly turned to whom had interrupted you.
Finally, your dreams had come true, all your waiting repaid as Levi stood in front of you with the help of a pair of crutches, scarred and changed, yet always the same to you.
You sighed, a loving expression on your face as you arose from your seat.
“I have been waiting for you.”
“I know.” He simply told you, encircling your figure with a bear hug.
“I missed you old man.” You told him, pressing you ear over to his heart, glad to hear his heartbeat. Wow, he was actually there, you thought.
“I know.” He said again.
“Is that all you’ve got to say for the love of your life?” You asked him jokingly. You understood he would have needed help to recover from the war, both from the physical and psychological wounds, and you would help him heal, of course you would. However, nobody knew how much you’d missed him, how much your heart had longed for him, weeping silently when nobody was around and the only one to listen to your prayers was the moon.
“I love you.” He said, hugging you even tighter, to the point you could feel all his bones crashed against you.
“I love you too” You nuzzled further into shoulder, as you both started weeping silently, the air thick with unspoken feelings and emotions.
After a while, you finally broke the hug, saying: “Hey, now we can match!”
He raised his left eyebrow in mild confusion as he followed you to the inside of your house, waiting for you to explain yourself.
“With the scars, duh.”

For Me (Levi Ackerman x Reader)
CHAPTER ELEVEN: LUCKY
Tumblr media
warning: spicy content ahead! you've been warned
Finally, you've finished your novel. After about 3 weeks of endless writing sessions, it's complete. You email the document to your editor, feeling accomplished as you press send. You can't help but get excited thinking about your book publishing and going back on a small book tour. You text Mikasa that you finished the book and when it's done being edited, she can have the first copy.
Levi has been texting you all day, but to no avail. You're very good at ignoring. You hum to yourself as you shut your laptop and grab a few things to keep at Levi's place. You catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, noticing every detail of your body. Petra looks nothing like you. She's short like you, but she's more frail and petite. Her hips aren't full like yours, and you bet she doesn't have cellulite on her thighs. Her hair is pin straight, not like yours which is thick and wavy, sometimes hard to manage.
You glance at your phone: 5:45 PM. Levi will be calling at any moment. You pull your tote bag over your shoulder when you hear a knock at your door.
"Who is it?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Levi."
You open the door to reveal Levi standing in your doorway with about 4 dozen red roses.
"Levi, what is this?"
"Roses." Levi points out the obvious.
"Well I can see that. Why?"
"You left my office upset."
"You keep pointing out obvious things, Levi. Why did you get me flowers?"
"I'm sorry for not telling you about Petra." Levi looks down. "I really didn't think it mattered. But once you brought up you working with an ex, I understood."
You take the roses from Levi, letting the aroma fill your nostrils. "You should've kept these at your place. I'm there more."
"You're bringing them with you tonight. But I wanted to surprise you with them."
"Please start talking more, Levi." You set the flowers down on the counter. "You need to communicate things with me. If you warn me ahead of time, I won't get upset."
"I'm not good at that."
"Well no shit." You laugh, taking a deep breath. "We'll work on it."
"We'll work on it." Levi repeats, grabbing the flowers and your bag. "What did you do today?"
"I actually finished writing my novel. I sent it to my editor this morning." You smile at Levi, finally letting the anger leave your body.
"Mikasa will be-"
"I already text her." You laugh. Levi's face looks gentle now. Mikasa is a soft spot for him - his little cousin who lost both of her parents. He's always looking out for her no matter what.
Levi actually sits and chats with you for a bit before you both headed back to his place. He tells you about the latest deals that Ackerman Inc is presenting and how exhausting it is to work with Hange sometimes.
"We should go to the coffee shop this weekend." You cross your right leg over your left. "We haven't been in awhile."
"You're right, we haven't." Levi nods. "It's settled then. We'll give our favorite barista a visit."
A Month Later
"My editor finally got back to me!" You squeal as you open your email and hold your phone in front of both you and Levi. You scroll her eMail to see the words 'Congratulations! You're getting published!'
"Congratulations my love." Levi kisses your temple. You were cuddling on the bed, watching your favorite trash tv show. Your back was pressed against Levi's chest, his legs wrapped around you and his fingers skimming over your skin. "I have a feeling this one is going to be a best seller."
"This could catapult my career." You smile as you type a response to your editor. "This could mean I can afford a house."
"About that." Levi grabbed your phone and set it on the nightstand. "I have a house."
"You're right, you do. We're sitting in it."
Levi has gotten much more touchy lately. His hands are all over you - at least at home. In public, it's very rare that he will do anything more than holding your hand. He runs his fingers through your hair, twisting it around his index finger.
"I have a house with plenty of space."
"Levi you're pointing out the obvious again."
"Live with me." Levi whispers against your temple, planting kisses to your cheek. "Your lease is up soon anyways."
"I'm not sure." You turn to face Levi. "I would want to pay for some of the mortgage -"
"The house is paid off already."
"What about groceries?"
"Princess, it's yes or no."
He knows you melt when he calls you princess. In bed or outside of the bed.
"Will you meet my family first? I don't want them to think I'm moving in with a random rich man. They might think you're my sugar daddy." You giggle, rolling yourself over so that you're now straddling Levi's waist.
"If that's what it takes for you to move in with me, yes." Levi presses his lips to yours gently while he places his hands on your waist, one of his hands traveling to your ass. He squeezes gently as he kisses you, letting his tongue invade your mouth. You feel your core pulsing already, undoubtably soaked from the contact. Every time you and Levi fuck, it's like the first time again. Just as exciting.
You wrap your arms around Levi's neck, your tits almost spilling out of your tank top. Levi takes this moment to plant kisses from your lips, down your neck, to your chest. His lips attach to your right tit as he bites and sucks around your nipple, before pinching it gently between his thumb and index finger. He then takes the nipple in his mouth, sucking on the nub gently. His other hand is massaging your other breast, making sure to give them both attention. Your core is definitely soaked now and you still have all of your clothes on.
Levi brings his face to yours, his eyes half lidded. "Sit on my face."
"Excuse me?"
"Sit. On. My face." Levi emphasized each word.
"I'm not sure, I-"
"You're not sure of what?" Levi's voice is sultry, just above a whisper as he kisses your neck.
The truth is, you've never sat on someone's face before. You've always been too scared of being too much for them.
"Spit it out, brat." Levi bites the skin on your neck gently, leaving a red/purple bruise.
"What if I hurt you?"
"Tch." Levi sucks his teeth as he pushes himself downwards on the bed. You're now sitting on his chest, feeling his breaths. "Are you gonna sit there or are you gonna sit on my face and let me make that pretty pussy come?"
You slide your pants off to the side, watching Levi's facial movements. He's so focused on you it's like theres no one else in this world that exists.
You hover your pussy over Levi's mouth for a moment, watching as his hands plant on your ass to bring you down. You feel his nose first, then his tongue slips into your pussy. Levi's hands tighten around your ass as he licks every crevice, sucking gently on your clit. You begin moving your hips as he devours you, and you receive a smack on the ass.
"Mmm." Levi's words vibrate against your pussy. He does this for his enjoyment at this point. "You're such a good girl. Always so wet for me."
You throw your head back as your walls begin to pulsate around Levi's tongue. "Fuck." Your toes curl as Levi continues to suck, lick, and eat every inch of your pussy. "Levi, baby -" You moan his name, feeling him smack your ass a bit harder this time.
"Come all over my face, princess. Make me proud."
You ride out your high, Levi slowly reducing the speed of his tongue. When you slide off his face, his lips are glistening with your arousal. His lips are painted a light shade of red. He looks so kissable with his swollen lips. You whimper at the loss of contact from your pussy. "I need you inside of me."
"Please." Levi presses his lips to yours so you can taste your arousal. "Say please."
"Please, baby." You rarely call him baby outside of the bedroom, which you think he likes. Levi sits up on his knees, flipping your body around so that your back is on his chest. You hear him take off his shirt and pants, throwing them to the side.
"On your knees." Levi orders. You lean on your knees and feel him place his hands on each side of your hips, shimmying you down his cock.
Reverse cowgirl. This is new.
Levi brings his right hand to the front of your neck, pushing your jawline so you're looking at him. "Who's pussy is this?"
"Y-yours." You moan as Levi thrusts his entire length into you.
"I can't hear you."
"Yours. Levi Ackerman's." You lean your head back on his shoulder, grinding your hips. "Fuck. My pussy will always be yours."
"That's right. Good girl." Levi thrusts harder into you, squeezing your neck gently with his thumb and index finger. "You look so pretty from here."
Levi has been the only man that could make you come multiple times in one session. Your 2nd orgasm crashed into you unexpectedly, causing your legs to tremble and move frantically. "Levi, fuck." You squeeze your eyes shut as the entire world fades away. You feel Levi's cock twitch, letting you know he's close too. He doesn't ask where you want him to come anymore, he just stays insides and paints your walls.
You're both panting, not willing to move an inch. "God, you're beautiful." Levi pushes a few pieces of hair out of your face and kisses your cheek. "How did I get so lucky?"
