I thought about Dean working a case on his own. Sam’s at college. It’s been nine months since they’ve talked. Dean works faster now, misses things sometimes, blows through monsters like tissue paper. This time he’s at a high school, not too old yet to pose as a transfer student. Someone was gutted like a fish in the library and libraries always just do it for him. He can’t not think about Sam, various Sam’s in various libraries all over the country. Little baby Sam fat cheeked smiling grabbing colourful kids books off low shelves, begging Dean to read them to him and even though Dean’s supposed to be helping research, he takes a few minutes to do it anyway. Then there’s shy adolescent Sam poking around the backs of shelves, breaking the case open with some dusty tome or other. It changes more than a little once Sam’s older, teenage brooding but not too much to look at Dean /that/ way, doe eyes and fluttery lashes and the first time Dean blows him is under a desk in a library. He can’t remember which one, which city, can’t remember anything but the dusty smell of books and the deathgrip on his hair and how every time after that, libraries hit him like pavlov’s dog, even when there’s a blood and brains splattered on the books. 

After the case (it’s a ghost, it’s an old librarian buried under the floorboards), Dean calls Sam and they talk themselves hoarse.

I just learned to change my taillight.  I still live at home,  but I'm almost halfway through my program at school so I should be living on my own this time next year.   I haven't gotten to write much though,  so my anxious days are more frequent.  But,  eh,  life happens.   We got a new Christmas tree this year and I'm hoping to put it up this week. It's good to hear that you've found a flat though!  I'm so excited for you.

Ohh that’s exciting! Living on your own is great, believe me. So much freedom. I hope you find a nice place. 

I know what you mean, I miss writing too. But I either don’t have the time or don’t feel like it. But I think that’s also because I don’t have a desk right now and no real space. Which sucks. But I’m sure you’ll get back to it soon. Even life won’t stop you if you want to write ;)

That’s nice, I don’t have a tree but I’m spending Christmas at home and am really looking forward to the tree and decoration and of course my parents.

Am I irritating/annoying you yet? 🤔 Anyway. I think Dean is the one to religiously remember anniversaries. He's the one to bring home chicken and remind Sam of the first time he knew he couldn't spend his life with someone else. Bring home Sam's favorite alcohol in anniversary of the first time Sam got really drunk. Bring home some of Sam's favorite snacks just to remind him that he notices the small things. I think Dean remembers everything and surprises Sam every time. Cause he'd forgot

Lol why would any of this irritate/annoy me? XDPersonally I think Sam would remember a lot, too, and do lots of things for Dean, too. He’s kind of (to Jess at least) the dream boyfriend in that respect so he probably would be in a lot of ways for Dean, too. But anyway, in YOUR scenario, I feel like Dean probably does those things in part because he feels unworthy on some level of his brother and doesn’t want to give Sam any reason to stray or something, because hey look Sammy I’m giving this my all, I’m really serious about this with you, please know that. Etc. You know, since Dean’s never really been the relationship guy before in his life and he wants to prove he’s capable.But in that same vein, I feel like Sam would one day turn around, cup Dean’s face, kiss him soft and meaningful. One of those breathless-inducing, slow, spine tingling kisses. And whisper that Dean doesn’t have to do all this extra. That Sam knows he’s in it forever, that he doesn’t doubt Dean’s feelings one bit. That just having Dean is enough, because it’s all Sam’s ever wanted. And then cue some weak-knee’d-but-trying-not-to-show-it Dean, and ultimately some slow, sensual love-making sex in the backseat of the Impala cementing what they both already know to be true about what they feel for each other.

I just get really sad that they kinda glossed over the fact Sam got tortured. Like, where's Dean asking if he's okay. Where's him acting like Dean does. (Dont shoot me) he's distracted by cas for some reason

I mean, Dean kinda commited suicide that one time and that got glossed over as well. This is supernatural, unfortunately the writer’s just don’t care. Although so far this season has shown an improvement in talking about stuff so maybe next episode?
