One of our fav pastimes weeks at the beach. Daddy would always watch the grands as he loved seeing the gulf from his chair on the balcony and take early morning and late evening walks. He loved cooking up seafood in the kitchen while the kids and I watched the sunset on the gulf. Those were golden days beautiful memories that cancer took from us. our story started in 2011 when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer then two years later my sister Alma was diagnosed and then my sister Becky was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. unfortunately my sister Becky did not survive. Now Alma is fighting her third battle with stage 4 metastasized breast cancer. It has been a long and hard journey but one that we can withstand as a family. This is what Type 1 diabetes looks like…

It’s ironic, that we brought awareness to this horrible disease last week. And I now sit in ICU with my daughter who went into diabetic Ketone acidosis yesterday. We/she did nothing wrong she got a bug and threw up. And now we try to chase that magical #, flush the keytones from her body with IV’s and hope to go home sometime today.
