man i think the fact the first ever actual online community i’ve 833n in was the furry fandom very much impacted how i interact with fandoms, period
#clove rambles#i was ACTIVELY a furry from uh. very very start of 2014-early 2018#and the thing is with the furry fandom is that its kinda... Off as a FANDOM#8c theres no one source media everyone revolves around#there is the vaguest general Theme and then EVERYTHING from there is ppl just doing their own stuff#its literally just like hmmm i like anthropomorphized animals and i like this this and this im gonna Make/commision stuff of those things#and then form a friend group/general small area of ppl i interact with with the same interests#like lets say u like dragons and writing#u WILL find other furries who like dragons and writing#lets say u like drawing Every 8r33d Of Dog Ever; 8ut with kinda fun colors#u will find the dogs w fun colors artists#lets say u just! really like cats! anything and everything rel8ing to cats!#you will find ppl who just like cats a lot!!!!!!#its one very large community with LOTS and LOTS of very tiny su8-communities#8ut with like. hs. no8ody is really doing their own thing we're focusing on This One Thing#like u can KINDA find ppl who like the stuff u like (ex; friendsim fans; hs2 fans; hoemstuck Itself fans; au fans; etc)#8ut its always moreso... the opinions u have???#so like i stay far away from ppl who think gz and eridan were innocent pure uwu 8a8y 8oys and dont care a8t the girls#and end up hanging out around les8ian vrisstans with very specific sapphic rarepairs#and i ASSUME thats just how fandoms WORK#8ut sometimes im like .... why are u all caring a8t eachother so much 8efore remem8ering We Are Not The Content#The Shit We Give Out And A Specific Thing is the content#its odd.
