What about Wei Qingwei? 👀
hehehHEHEHE WHO IS READY FOR SWORD PUNS-
-----
"Thrity percent."
"Ten percent."
"Twenty five percent."
"Five, and if you keep pushing, I will give you nothing at all." Shang Qinghua slammed his book closed, the threat like a sharp knife being held over Wei Qingwei's dreams of a new forge.
"The Immortal Allience Conference is coming soon, I need a new forge to make new weapons," Wei Qingwei said as if his argument couldn't be refuted. Better start sooner than later, right? Even stubborn Shang Qinghua couldn't find fault in a point like that!
"Wei-shixiong," The An Ding Peak Lord rubbed his hands all over his face, smearing ink on his cheek as he gave the biggest sigh Wei Qingwei ever seen someone give. "I understand your frustration and your anxiety to start things now, believe me, I know," Shang Qinghua gestured at his entire desk, a chaos of papers and parchments, some of them covered in numbers so tiny it hurt Wei Qingwei's eyes to look at them for too long. "But as you can see, everyone wants a head start, and as we have discussed, many times I may add, the Immortal Allience Conference budget will be given next year. And is no one's fault-" Then he paused, mumbling something suspiciously like "but your own", only to continue with a smile. "That your disciples blew up a forge. Again."
Wei Qingwei crossed his arms, tapping his fingers. It annoyed him to no end that his lie had been caught before he could use it, but something nagged on his mind that the money wasn't actually the problem here.
He had heard... Stories. You see, blacksmithing could be really boring. When you're waiting for a new ore shipment, or when one had nothing to do besides polishing metal (hehe) again and again, what one could do besides gossiping? And the last big whisper among his older disciples had been too good for him to ignore.
Long night meetings with Zhangmen-Shixiong, visits at odd hours to a certain bamboo house, doctor's appointments in the middle of the night while being perfectly healthy... One had to be stupid to not connect the dots.
The quiet as a mouse, shadow of twelve peaks, Lord Shang Qinghua fucked. And he must be pretty good at it if the types like Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu came back for more.
Another thing that wasn't hard to see was how stressed the man looked. To be honest, Wei Qingwei doesn't remember any time Shang-shidi was not stressed. Maybe it was because they met only during meetings. Or when he went to ask for money. Hm.
What Qi Qingqi said? Something something vinegar and bees and honey? Maybe he should try another strategy.
"This one would like to apologize to his Shidi for the insistence. But maybe I could bid on a final offer?" And Wei Qingwei didn't curl his finger on his hair because he wasn't that shameless, but he wasn't ashamed to pull his sleeves up to show off some muscle, leaning forward to let his outer robes slide just enough to show his clavicle.
Shang Qinghua stared.
"Very well, a final offer," he agreed and then proceeded to pretend to organize his desk, taking a glance or two at Wei Qingwei's neck.
"Shidi goes back to his first ten percent advance deal," Now Wei Qingwei knew he was laying on too thick by Shang Qinghua's snort. Still, he didn't back off, winking as he said: "and I can craft something special for you."
"Hmm..." Shang Qinghua moved more papers around, pulled his collar as he took another peek at Wei Qingwei's chest. "I do have some projects in mind that would require Wei-shixiong's expertise..." He hesitated for another moment, slowly laying back until his back hit the panel behind him, one of his hands going to his sword, playing with the tassel like a cat about to catch a mouse. "Also, it's been a while since I've polished my sword. Would Wei-shixiong consider putting that in his offer as well?"
The next day...
"I swear to Heavens, your hair is possessed by something. What did you do to make it so knotted?" Qi Qingqi was being delicate, mind you, she would never be less than gentle, but she also couldn't resist pulling the curls a little bit stronger than she would. Served Wei Qingwei right for making her spend an entire morning taking care of his curly creature.
Also, Wei Qingwei's dreamy sighs were starting to annoy her. He was acting worse than her teenage girls!
"I went to talk to Shang-shidi yesterday," he said as if he wasn't almost vibrating to share how did it go.
"And?" she rolled her eyes, pulling her comb just enough to make him hiss. "By the look on your face he agreed on giving you more money."
He started laying back on her, but before he could ruin all her hard work on the lower part of his hair, she hit him with the comb. And it was a testimony of how smug he was that his only reaction was to laugh, eyes creasing into two half moons, smiling like a sly fox.
"He gave me something alright."
She stopped mid movement blinking once then twice, mouth opening in a surprised gasp.
"You didn't."
"Oh I did."
"I can't believe you did it."
"I can't believe how huge is his-"
"Stop!" She hit him again with the comb, and then a second time. She didn't need that image in her head the next meeting, thank you very much!! "Shut up! I don't wanna hear it!"
"Ow, ow, alright I'm sorry!" He apologized but kept laughing, no, not laughing, giggling like he were about to kick his feet and start making plans for a wedding.
She loved him, but. Ew.
"How is he that good?" She wondered out loud when they finally calmed down and went back to controlling Wei Qingwei's hair. "He looks like he's about to faint half of the time, and the other half, he's crying about us being mean to him."
"I have no idea, but he's growing quite the reputation. But it does make sense after you think about it. And!" This time she couldn't hold him in place, Wei Qingwei turning around so she could see him wiggling his eyebrows. "Explains a lot why a lot of lords were blushing last meeting. You know the voice he does? The bossy one?"
She dropped everything to cover her ears, closing her eyes as well so she couldn't even read his lips. "I don't wanna hear it!!"
That send Wei Qingwei into another fit of giggles, throwing his head back while covering his face with both hands.
Qi Qingqi didn't understand, honestly she didn't want to understand. But her best friend was having fun, so if she sent a blessing on Shang Qinghua's way, that was between her and the Heavens.
------
Aaaaaand Wei Qingwei had his turn! :D I wanted to make it more naughty but I'm at work and djahskfjskdks Everyone here knows English so- LETS JUST SAY I WORKED ON MY POKERFACE TODAY
Bonus points for Qi Qingqi!! :D
There you go anon <3 I hope you enjoyed!! Also, the demon curly hair Wei Qingwei hc is from @artsarasp comic here!!!

Ngl I've been seeing a lot of things for small hipped people. And I was wondering, could you make a Gyomei x gn reader who's self conscious about having big hips? (And mayhaps have thick thighs while your at it hehe)
You don't have to write this, but I think your writing is awsome! And I really hope you have a good day/night!
I would love to write this! I have big hips too so this is right up my alley! I hope you like it!
Gyomei X chubby!reader
You and Gyomei are staying in the sword smith village. when he finds you in the hot springs the secret you’ve been trying to keep comes out.
Tumblr media
Walking into the sword smith village was hell, everyone that we pasted in the long walk into the village was staring at us or just at me. Why would they have those expressions looking at the strongest hashira? Expressions of disapproval. The man that could squash them like a bug, no they were looking at me, they always were. The only ones that accepted me are the hashira even though I’m not one and for that I’ll always be grateful.
they can see it the way my wide lower body fills out even my loose clothing. I clench my arms around Gyomeis massive one while we make our way to the village chiefs home.
“ would you like me to carry you? “ he asked
I look up at him confused before I realize I was pressing my entire body against him practically hanging onto his arm. I quickly pulled away from him, causing him to laugh “ it’s alright, come here “ he said before wrapping his arm around me and lifting me up “ Gyomei! “ I yelped clinging onto his uniform collar. The stone hashiras grip on me was tight but not enough to hurt.
Gyomei walked along the streets until we finally reached the chiefs house. He gently dropped me on the ground before leaning down to me “ I’ll take care of this we’ve had a long day, why don’t you go to the hot springs? “ gyomei said as he opened the door and was gone before o had the chance to reply.
“ miss, this way i shall escort you to the hot springs “ he guide said before hurriedly moving me to the very edge of the village. We came to a steep incline of stone steps, the smell of the hot springs were pleasant but strong enough that it could be smelled from all the way down here.
“ the hot springs are just up these stairs miss “
“ thank you “ I said with a bow before starting the slow walk up the stairs. they were so many, I’m out of breath I complain on the way up. It took some time put I finally reached the top “ beautiful “ I say out loud. The water of the hot springs were beautifully shrouded in a blanket of mist and the sun was shining through the trees making everything look golden. I looked towards the ground there was towels and bathing essentials already laid out for visitors.
Looking around to make sure no one else is around I let out a sigh as I start to undress myself down to nothing, I’m glad Gyomei stayed behind to greet the village chief. I know that Gyomei is blind but I still get embarrassed by my naked form. Obviously he knows about my hips and tights but one thing I refuse to let him know is that it has fueled my insecurities. I have always hated them but I can pretend because I don’t want to seem weak around him.
I try to push those thoughts out of my mind as I slowly sink down in the warm water, sighing when the water hits my cooler skin. I sank down into the water and put my head back on a stone “ this is nice “
Sitting in the hot springs for a while I could already feel my skin getting softer and my muscles relaxing, I almost drifted off the sleep when I heard “ I’m glad you’re liking the hot springs “ my head shot up and my hand moved to cover myself “ Gyomei? “ damnit I didn’t think he would be here so soon! “ one moment, my love “ he replied as he started removing his clothes. I quickly looked away as a blush rose on my cheeks, I slowly started to make my way to the other side of the hot springs before I was stopped.
“ where are you going? “ Gyomei asked as he was sinking into the water, damn him and his hashira senses.
“ j-just making room for you Gyomei! “ I was trying my best to act cheerful but my heart was pounding. He laughed “ it’s okay if you’re beside me, you are my partner after all “ Gyomei then held out his hand for me to take, I reluctantly gave in taking his hand and letting him guide me to sit beside him.
“ that’s better “
I was on the verge of tears being this close to him without anything to cover myself with, I started fidgeting desperately wanting to leave “ what’s wrong? “ he man asked
“ nothing “ I deflected
“ if something is nothing you please tell me “
When those words left his mouth it felt like a dam burst, I started sobbing and it left the poor stone hashira very confused. “ I’m sorry, was it something I said? “ he asked as he wrapped his muscled arms around me pulling me to him.
“ i don’t…my body… “ I tried to explain between sobs, that made the man hold me tighter, he held me to his chest and let me cry it out. Gyomei put his hand under my knees and picked me up to put me on his lap. He ran his hands through my hair to calm me down like he knows how and it worked. I slowly started to come out of it, I pushed myself back from him so I could look up at his face.
The man wore a saddened expression “ I know you’re struggling my love “ he starts while running his hand down my sides “ I know what you’re thinking but you don’t have to worry “ he says as he’s leaning forward to kiss the top of my head “ i love you “ he whispers
“ Gyomei I- “
“ hush I don’t want to hear that anymore “
He pulls me tight against him “ I know your feelings about yourself “ he sighs while hot tears travel down his face making guilt pool in my stomach “ you are the most beautiful person in the world to me and I feel blessed to have you by my side “ he expresses
“ I-I’m sorry Gyomei “
“ I’m also sorry that I didn’t make those thoughts clear enough “
I throw my arms around his neck as I pull him in for a kiss “ I love you “
He smiles into the kiss before kissing me deeply in return, our lips folded together so perfectly it’s like heaven but as soon as I was giving myself over to the feeling he pulled back “ we will work through these thoughts together “ he says
I smile and nod against him “ sorry for the trouble Gyomei “
“ you are no trouble for me, my love “

What about post-apocalypse Dokja getting jealous that reader spends a lot of time with Joonghyuk
yayaya
Jealous Kim Dokja x Reader
Lets pretend the fourth wall lets you see his face!
Your relationship between Yoo Joonghyuk was an odd one. He wasn't necessarily mean to you, but he was pretty harsh.
"Get up. Again." You lie on the ground, tired with your sword.
"No...please..." You cried out loud, he had beaten you up to a pulp as you two sparred.
"Don't you want to get stronger? So your suicidal boyfriend won't jump into any waking danger." He scoffed.
Dokja looked from afar, a twinge of jealousy on his face. She keeps sparring with him...she could spar with me too...What does he have that I don't?
He bit the inside of his cheek and scrunched his face up.
[The constellation 'Demon-Like Judge of Fire's' eye sparkles and says this is just like the romance novel she read.]
Dokja was embarrassed to say the least, he understood that you were only wanting to get stronger but why couldn't you spar with him...
Ugh! He pinched the bridge of his nose. He couldn't believe he would act so immature...but...!
You should just spar with him instead....!!
-
You wiped your sweat off your head after Joonghyuk made you eat the ground for the tenth time in a row.
"We're done for today. Get some rest." He spoke, walking away after throwing you a towel.
"Finally..." You caught the towel and walked to Dokja.
"Ah you're back." He didn't even look in your direction.
"Yeah...after a good beating." You spoke, raising an eyebrow to his unusual behavior.
"Mm." He responded.
You sighed, laughing a little before walking up behind him and hugging him.
"Are you jealous? I'm sorry I haven't been spending as much time with you...why don't we have a little make-shift date on the rooftop tonight?"
You were spot on. Damn! Dokja thought. Was he that easy to read? He turned to you and hugged you back. "Stay with me the whole day tomorrow and i'll forgive you.."
You laughed, smiling. "Hehe, okay. Whatever you want."
-
The next day, after your cute dinner together gazing at the stars and Uriel donating coins as she fangirled over your relationship, you two woke up.
"[name]," dokja spoke, "You should spar with me today instead of Joonghyuk, I get that he's handsome, but you shouldn't be fooled!" His eyes sparkled.
You laughed again, "Okay! And for the record, you're far more handsome than him"
He blushed, his jealousy long gone but hearing you complement him over that bastard felt great.

Where the reader and zoro like each other but don’t know they do. So the crew sees this wants them to get together but one day they accidentally kiss and confess without the crew knowing something like that
Thanks
Hello! Thank you so much for the request🫶
Im so sorry for how long this took, busy week + writers block hehe.
I hope i hit the nail on your request, if not, just let me know!
Zoro x fem!reader accidental kiss
❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎
They saw the glances. They saw the blushes. They saw the way you were quick to offer Zoro any use of assistance.
And they saw the way Zoro would stare at you. How he would ask you to train with him. How he always looked after you during any battle. You could handle your own of course but there was nothing wrong with someone watching your back.
The crew knew you two liked each other, but they never told you they knew. So it was no wonder why you were constantly confused when they gave each other little snickers and knowing looks to one another.
But you ignored it. And so did Zoro. But it wasn’t like you guys tried to hide it, you two were practically glued to the hip.
Work out, take naps, train, eat, work out again….work out again.. sleep so it wasnt a big surprise to anyone when the first signs became evident.
And out of everyone? It was Nami who had noticed. But Nami was not going to let this be kept to herself. As soon as she saw you blush to yourself when Zoro wiped his face with a towel after an intense…and sweaty workout, she turned to Robin who was engrossed in a book. Nami taps her and motions towards you “Look!”.
Then Robin shared to none other than Franky. Then Franky shared to Usopp, Then Ussop shared to an excited Chopper… and to the one they tried avoiding.. Luffy and we all know how Luffy is with a secret. In a blink of an eye, Sanji is already marching in anger from the kitchen.
“THAT MOSSHEAD?” He yells as Nami holds him back and scolds him within volume range so that you and Zoro wouldn’t hear.
Now after many weeks, the crew recently was recovering from a recent battle that took place on an island. Everyone took a good amount of hits but nothing too severe. You and Zoro had withstood a hefty amount of scratches that needed stitches and some rest. But as everyone knows Zoro, there is no such thing as rest.
The crew all watched from the kitchen window to you two outside. But they realized something. You guys weren’t just talking…. Your face was beet red and his eyebrows were arched and the palms of his hand was turning white on the handle of his sword.
“Surely they’re just blushing?” Usopp chimed in with shaky breath.
“OH MY GOD SHES COMING!” Chopper yells and the crew disperses as you barge in the kitchen. Everyone pretends to be doing their own thing. Usopp hiding behind the counter and Chopper hiding behind Robin who was sipping some tea. Sanji mindlessly pouring Nami a drink. Franky pretending that theres something wrong with the floorboards. Brooke fiddling with his violin. And to everyone’s luck, Luffy was asleep in the quarters recovering so they knew they could steer clear from any sudden remarks.
You walk straight to the pantry all while talking shit. “That dumbass! He’s such an asshole!”
Sanji looks at you and smirks a bit due to the fact that you were insulting Zoro.
“Oh? Did that stupid mosshead do something to yo-“
“BE QUIET!” You snap back and slam the pantry causing Sanji to flinch.
“That asshole has the audacity to tell me that he doesn’t need to rest! Doesn’t he understand that we care about him?”
“More like you care about him” Nami chips in with a smug smile in which you scowl.
“Well seems like you dont have to deal with him much longer, he’s walking off the ship” Franky states as he looks outside the window.
You turn immediately towards his direction as if it were your first sense.
“What?”
Franky nods and points. “Seems like he needs to cool his head”
You walk over and look as he walks pretty far in the village. A groan escapes your lips and you rub your temples.
“Damnit! Last time he did this, he got lost for two days! I have to go follow him. That idiot!” You announce as you leave the kitchen, leaving the rest of the crew to glance at each other.
Meanwhile, you dash off the Thousand Sunny and into the village. Through the crowd of people you can faintly see little bits of green hair. You push through the townsfolk and follow after him but the little bits vanish the moment you blink. Your vision scans the area and catch him in the corner of your eye make a left turn. You look towards the direction he headed and see a forest of tall green trees, the size of a giant.
“Where is he going?” You mutter under your breath as you turn the same left corner.
The view was much more clearer now as the merchant stands and houses disappeared and you’re met with the beauty of the tall trees and the brown leaves that made a satisfying crunch noise.
Your speed elevated as you realized you were gaining distance between yourself and Zoro.
“Zoro! Wait up!”
But it fell on deaf ears as he continued walking and took a swig from the bottle of booze in his hand.
“Zoro! I know you can hear me!”
You start jogging towards him, and as you get closer and closer, his body tenses.
“Dont ignore me!”
His face twists in annoyance.
“Zoro! Turn around! You know you were the asshole!” You yell as you get eerily close to him. He knew you were close. He didn’t need to use his haki to know that, or more like have the feeling of it. After minutes of “nagging”, yelling, and reprimanding him, he cant take it anymore. His mind could not physically handle all those words spewing like rapid-fire for another minute.
“Woman, what the hell do you-“ he turns around abruptly, completely forgetting the close proximity you two were in. You took this chance to get closer to his face, to get your point across but what you two were not expecting was the softness of each other’s lips intertwining with one another. Lips meeting in a tender and lingering kiss, one that was hesitant but exploratory. It was an intertwining of warmth and longing, filled with hidden passion that had been held back all this time. His calloused and used hands that protectively held a sword and a bottle was now fulfilling its purpose by cupping your face, pulling you deeper and deeper.
A shiver runs down your spine as you two finally pull away in pants. His eyes meet yours and he looks a bit shocked.
“I-i didn’t mean to…”
“Me neither.” You stutter back but then scoff. “You cant be that stupid as to not know I’ve felt this way for a while”
“You’re no better.” Zoro says softly, hinting that the feelings were mutual. “Don’t know how much ive kept in.”
You smile at that and say what you two were thinking, “So…that makes us…?”
“We’ll get to that later.” He responds bluntly with a small smirk playing on his lips.
You nod and you two stand there awkwardly, staring at each other eyes, cheeks flushed and hearts beating at a rapid pace. Zoro leans in closer.
“But i was serious. You really need to rest Zoro… you just got out of a fight….”
“Shut up!” He exclaims as he takes your face again and his lips meet yours once more, shutting you up. He kisses you as if he was trying to remember your lips, the taste, the feeling… everything.
The setting was not helping either as the sun was dipping in the horizon, the golden hue shining through the large trees and onto the calming faces that was of you and Zoro.
Suddenly, there was a rustling of leaves and you two instinctively pull away.
“Dammit.” You huff.
“Argue”
“What?”
“Argue with me” Zoro repeats.
You nod, seemingly understanding what he was referring to without further words needed. A deep breath is taken and the words come launching out again.
“Seriously! Is it that hard to just sit down and not train as much!” You yell as Robin and Franky come to view.
Franky facepalms as he realizes you are still “arguing” with him even after all this time. But when your gaze shifts to Robin, thats another story.
Robin has a knowing smile, that lovely lady somehow knows things even when you don’t want to. Franky walks over, a bit curious as to why you and Zoro had such deep blushes on your faces. But right now was not the time.
“Hey, Had to come find you guys. Marine boat spotted. We have to get going.”
You and Zoro nod and follow behind Robin and Franky out the small little forest you were in. There was a distance between you and the other two and you didn’t mind one bit as you walked alongside Zoro, fingertips brushing with one another’s.
It was a silent way back to the ship, only noises being the tapping of shoes on the ground and onto the deck. But when Zoro and Franky walk away, Zoro’s hand brushes by your fingertips one last time and you suddenly get a thought.
“Wait…how did you know where to find us?” You ask with wide eyes as you turn to face Robin. If they found them that easily… does that mean her and Franky saw what happened?
Robin chuckles and gives a teasing smile.
“We wont tell.”
She winks at you… and all you can do is groan and strut away with embarrassment. But even so, your stomach flutters with butterflies for what’s to come.

"I'm glad we could come to an agreement, Headmaster," Siren gives Crowley a closed-eyed smile, folding her well-manicured hands in her lap. He sweats nervously, wiping away small beads of sweat that formed.
"Yes, yes," He sweatdropped. "Indeed, the negotiations are finally over! Am I not gracious for agreeing to your...demands."
Siren nodded, a pleasant smile plastered to her face. "Of course. Now, the down payment, as promised? 500 thousand madols, if you would."
The headmaster fake sobbed as he took out his black credit card and with shaking hands, passed it to a passive-looking Siren who took it from his grasp.
"Oh, woe is me!" He cried out. "Alas, as a kind and generous headmaster, I must honor my word!"
She nodded, standing up and patting her legs to rid of the dust.
"Don't worry, headmaster," Her sapphire eyes gleamed and for a few seconds, Crowley felt the same shiver go down his spine when he spoke to young Azul Ashengrotto but a year ago. "My cafe will be an astonishing success!"
The golden-masked headmaster nodded feverishly. "A-Ah and the 20% of the profit will be mine yes?"
Tapping the rolled-up contract in her hand, Siren gave him a frosty glare. Did he really think she would fall for it? "15%, Headmaster. Please do keep up."
He slouched and nodded, pretending as if he never spoke. "But of course! Apologies, my dear, it seems that my memory has become weaker and weaker!"
"Until next time, goodnight Headmaster," Siren gave him a quick bow before retreating. The moment the doors slammed closed behind her, Headmaster Crowley let out a giant sigh and leaned back in his chair. His sharp, golden talons tapped against the other copy of the agreement, and he hummed.
"Cafe Amor...I wonder what will happen?"
On the other side, Siren quickly made her way back to Ramshackle. Even the dark, dusty, grimy condition of the building couldn't sour her mood. She let a smirk crawl up her face.
"Cafe Amor, you will be my greatest success!"

*magically appears from the void*
Okay! Hi, hope your having a good day, all of that jazz. Maybe someone has asked you this before, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on a fyosiglai circus au? Hehe sorry ive been starting to create one and since you like fyosiglai wanted to hear your thoughts!
got on my computer to answer this one because this is GENIUS
i don't really think of circus aus much and i haven't really thought much about like, what? goes on? in a circus? cause i don't know? but this is absolute genius (i'm actually looking shit up as i write this so aHSGJKHASDFJKG) (also this got long so under a cut)
okay. first initial thoughts; decay of angels are the main circus members. fukuchi is the ringmaster + surprise he's also the lion tamer (i could imagine him like, surprising the audience because nikolai "accidentally" lets out a lion or something and fukuchi "tames it" in front of the audience so they get Big Jumpscare cause oh no that wasn't supposed to happen !!! yes it was lmao)
also as a little side note i like to think bram does the sword swallowing and knife throwing (sigma's the target) and he's literally perfect at the knife throwing and no one knows how he's that amazing
sigma i imagine is the most flexible of the remaining three so i can see him doing like, the acrobatics in the air and contortion and stuff (and i like to imagine it flusters the FUCK out of nikolai and fyodor because holy shit? how? he's so pretty. what the fuck?).
you expected this i bet but nikolai is the clown !! obviously. he probably does a lot of the juggling stuff, maybe some "magic", and he really likes the dangerous things so he ends up being the one on the tightrope walk and he pretends to fall and doesn't (i imagine this circus is really bent on "how can we jumpscare the audience"). he has so much fun messing with the audience and most of his acts end up including at least one (1) audience member. maybe he does some fire performances too (he definitely does) (i bet the first time sigma saw nikolai do fire tricks he was terrified and fyodor reassured him it was fine because "he's been doing this since we were children. do not worry")
fyodor i'm really not sure what he might do. trying to think what he might do is kinda stumping me rn, i can't imagine he likes doing stuff in front of other people but i can imagine he might be really good at the object manipulation stuff, i think he'd have a lot more he does behind the scenes though. so like, lighting and special effects and stuff. i don't think he'd like doing any actual acts but he can do some of them and he's good at them, like maybe equilibristics a little bit? i'm really not sure for him, but whatever he does nikolai is super excited about it and sigma thinks he's absolutely amazing at it
i imagine sigma is the newest member of the circus too. fukuchi and bram founded it, and fyodor and nikolai knew each other from childhood so sigma feels really out of place with them at first, but fyodor and nikolai take a liking to him and i imagine they help him in determining his acts and what he might do for the audience and it turns out he's a natural! and honestly it only makes fyodor and nikolai more interested and eventually fall for him whether they want to or not
i also imagine fukuchi is absolutely awful and teases either nikolai or fyodor (fyodor would be funnier) about "ah, those two?" and whoever he's teasing (fyodor is still funnier) is like "shut UP." (he never shuts up)
maybe there's some rival circus or something (immediate thought was either the ADA or the hunting dogs) and they have to get their shit TOGETHER and figure out How Can We Be Better Than These Guys and fyosiglai work together training and practicing and stuff and Shit! Goes! Down! you can decide what that might be idk what happens in circus aus

PEG!!! I am having many Triforce Heroes thoughts right now. 🤣
Like, does Legend get the doppel dolls after he helps Hytopia? Would he have taken the fourth doppel?
Does Legend think HE’S the hero in the castle of the four sword?
Is Legend younger/smaller when he uses the doppels?
I saw the post for that weird dungeon in OoT/MM with the mask similar to the doppel’s hanging in it- There’s a theory Sky turns into fierce deity (thus the mask), could something similar have happened to Four?
Could there a symbolic reason in who Legend is for why the fourth doppel doesn’t work?
What if a part of him stayed behind in Koholint? Would that give him closure or just make it harder?
What if he “healed, fixed” the fourth doppel and it came to life- or merged with the other doppels! Or all the doppels came to life! Would it or they look like him or someone else?
It would be so cute if Legend raised a bunch of doppel children.
Oh I have SO many Tri force heroes thoughts all the time, especially about the doppels hehe
Let me clear something up though, there are actually only three doppels: the two in the castle, and the third broken one out by the moat. Link uses the two doppels in the castle so that there are three “heroes” if you don’t do multiplayer, and the third doesn’t do anything. (Though if you interact with it repeatedly throughout the game, it stops saying it’s a dirty broken doll, rather that it’s been cleaned up and fixed. I like to think that Link cleaned it up as time went by :).
Also Jojo (sadly) said that tfh actually isn’t one of Legend’s adventures, but it’s one of those things we all like to pretend is canon anyways XD
Chronologically speaking, tfh comes after a link between worlds, so it would be the last of all of Legend’s adventures; so he probably already did the palace of the four sword and all that. It’s an interesting idea that Four could have somehow become the doppels, though there’s only three of them so that would raise some questions about where a possible fourth one was. (Lost? Destroyed? Captured?)
Though in-game, the doppels are (supposedly) empty vessels that allow a hero to vacate his body and enter theirs in order to control them. I’ve actually got a whole theory that they weren’t always empty vessels, but I already made a long post about that, which I could @ you in if you really want to read it XD (got a wip about the idea too actually, I should probably just post what I’ve got lol)
But I would guess that if the doppels were healed/cured/whatever, that they would look similarly to Link/Legend, since even before you use the doppels they bear a great similarity to Link. (though that may just be because of the legend of the Tri force heroes that’s a big thing in Hytopia)
And you’re right that it would be absolutely adorable if Legend raised a bunch of doppels kiddos! I can imagine them trailing along behind him, that’d be so cute <3

excited for this fic :) ch3 done, gotta do ch2 hehe
Hope you enjoy UwU
  Every day, he had the same boring routine. Get up alongside Tenten, and immediately go to the kitchen to work on the dishes for the king and his three heirs, barely managing to eat something from stealing food when Choza wasn't looking.
   (Or, better said, when he pretended to be distracted with something else.)
  Lee did enjoy cooking, don't misunderstand it. But he would rather be holding swords instead of knives, protecting himself with a shield and feeling the wind playing with his hair while riding a strong and beautiful horse, just like his dad used to do in the past. He had been one of the best knights of the Hyuga Kingdom, fighting tooth and nail against enemies and monsters and even dragons!
  If those were real, of course. Gai tended to exaggerate many things in his tales, to make them entertaining for his young kids while still maintaining fractions of the truth– Lee still hadn't figured out how youthful he was with Tenten and him after spending entire days away from home, gaining injury after injury, bruise after bruise.
  One day, his seemingly endless energy acted against the knight himself. He had been on a mission so important that no details had been revealed, battling who-knows-what in who-knows-where alongside the only other man who could ever compare with him in strength – his own friend, Kakashi…
  Only for neither of them to ever be seen again, leaving blood and weapons behind. Gai's body was the only one that was found, and his children cried for days, weeks, and even months; they had gotten a loving father after being on their own for years and now, they were going to be on their own once again.
  At least King Hizashi was kind enough to guarantee them a bed in his castle, giving them an honest job and a place to be safe in, somewhere to return to during the night and have no fear about getting mugged or something. Perhaps they needed to share the mattress and the room itself was also home to another person, but it was much better than being on their own.
  And now, eight years after he had taken a new life with his sister, Lee could do nothing but imagine better times, what-ifs about how everything would have turned differently with other fates and destinies while he stirred up a delicious soup that Choza had taught him how to do. A repetitive routine that allowed him and his sister to hang on, looking forward to better things to come no matter if they had to spend their days hidden in the kitchens, cooking for nobility who barely knew about their existence.
  Lee wanted to be just like his dad, so he tended to train himself to exhaustion in the ways of a knight– always on his own, using wooden spoons as swords and nothing but imagination to battle against the air. Usually when it was time to go home for the night, as nobody else tended to be around the kitchen long after dinner had been served to the royal family.
  Seeing that was the case, Lee had begun yet another round of daily training with the air, avoiding pots and pans as much as he could as he slowly went towards the halls– he liked dodging everything there as a way of challenging himself, and it had slowly worked towards his reflexes. Plus, it was a nice change of pace.
  He had gotten so immersed into attacking invisible enemies with his wooden spoon that he hadn't even realized that someone was standing next to him, observing his every move with his piercing lavender eyes and no words coming from his mouth.
  "What are you doing with that?"
  Lee yelped in surprise, letting go of his fake weapon that soon slipped away from his hands and fell to the ground. That voice was engraved to his mind, with fear invading his heart and deciding to stay.
  The cook turned around as slowly as his body allowed him to, gulping before looking at the ground, the presence of someone to obey being enough for him to shy away.
  Lord Neji, the eldest heir of the king, was standing right in front of him. He knew he existed now, and his intense stare was fixed on him, patiently waiting for an answer of sorts. Lee felt like his throat had been invaded by stones and no words could get out of his mouth, feeling sweat falling from his hands as seconds passed.
  "I… Lord Neji, I am just–" the cook mumbled, not willing to look the prince in the eyes. "I am sorry, it is a silly thing. I like acting as if these spoons are my swords, sometimes. It will not happen again."
  Silence. He could feel the prince approaching him, and Lee already expected to receive some sort of punishment – god, he was playing in the middle of the castle, and Lord Neji had seen him! Well, he had never spoken to him or even got close to the other boy outside of giving him food… but still! Anything could happen, and the cook didn't want to look.
  Instead of a punch to the gut, Lee felt his wooden spoon being placed on his hand once again, hearing a soft chuckle coming from his lord– and his own fingers guiding Lee, forcing his hand to hold his tool in a specific way.
  "You need to have stronger wrists," Lord Neji commented, his voice gentler than it had sounded before. The cook finally looked at him, and saw no traces of anger in his face, which probably surprised him more than anything. "Why are you doing this? You're a cook, right?"
  "Yes, my Lord," Lee replied, inhaling deeply to calm his heart. "You see, I have always wanted to be a powerful knight, just like my dad... he was called Gai, did you get to know him?"
  Acknowledgement flooded that pair of lavender eyes, and it took the prince a couple of seconds before replying to his companion with a soft smile on his face.
  "Yes, I did. Gai was one of my personal guards when he didn't need to be outside of the kingdom, always keeping me company… he told me a lot about you and your sister. You're… Lee, right?"
  An excited nod, and Lee couldn't help it but grin at his Lord. He knew Gai, Tenten and him actually existed! Perhaps his dad didn't exaggerate too much in his adventurous tales, after all, otherwise his name might not have been well known.
  Neji chuckled at his reaction once again, accommodating a wild strand of hair behind his ear. He was so calm and nice, and the cook couldn't understand why he had been so afraid of talking with him before.
  "If you want to be a knight, I could… arrange something with my father. But you'll need some actual training– I saw your posture, and it's not quite right," the prince exclaimed, his voice never losing a certain softness that Lee liked. "The knights probably won't like to train you– but I can. I'll be your mentor, how does that sound?"
  It all seemed like an odd dream, that Lee would wake up at any moment and he would feel extremely disappointed that the offer had never occurred… but nothing happened for the moments he remained in silence, thinking about everything that had happened in the span of about fifteen minutes. Lord Neji was patient, and didn't rush him at all.
  "But why, my Lord? Why do you want to help me achieve my dream? A prince must have more important things to do than–" the cook started to say, unable to finish his sentence as the prince interrupted him.
  "Your dad saved my life, and it's only fair I help his son follow his heart if I can. I'm sure you can become a wonderful knight just like he used to be, Lee… you have the same spirit he had."
  If anybody else had been in front of him, Lee would probably have started crying on the spot, emotion taking over him for a second. But one did not cry in front of the nobility, and so he suppressed his tears, letting out a grin instead.
  "I am so happy you think that, my Lord! Thank you so much! You do not know how much this means to me," the black haired boy said, and his companion seemed content with that.
  "I'll be free tomorrow in the afternoon. Meet me in my private gardens, and be prepared."
  And as silently as he had appeared, Lord Neji left, walking through the labyrinth of halls without leaving a trace. For a moment, Lee thought he might have imagined the whole thing, almost too good to be true– still, with hope ingrained deep in his heart, he stepped into the gardens forbidden for everyone and waited, using the little free time he had that day to believe the prince and see what could happen.
  It took him some minutes to arrive, but he had a wooden sword in his hands and an excitement overflowing through his eyes. He left the weapon on the ground and soon began showing the other boy how to stretch before actually beginning their training.
  “You need to be strong. Otherwise, you won’t be able to fight against anything,” the brunet exclaimed as he saw Lee’s exhausted face as they ran some laps around the garden together.
  Alright, that wasn’t how he expected to spend his afternoon, but it was all going to be worth it in the end! Even if his legs and arms started to ache, any and all air escaped from his lungs, he wouldn’t give up– his dad wouldn’t have done such a thing! Gai would have told him to be youthful and go on, no matter how tired he got!
  Lord Neji even seemed satisfied with his determination, going as far as dedicating him a soft smile– although, he wasn’t a merciful teacher, giving him exercises that were perhaps too hard for him after training on his own for most of his life. Lee didn’t want to reject any challenge though, but his head was starting to hurt.
  “Enough warming up. Let’s do something else,” the brunet ordered, and Lee almost groaned. That was a warm up? Lord Neji hadn’t even dropped an ounce of sweat yet!
  But he had grabbed the wooden sword, so the cook didn’t complain at all– he just obeyed the instructions that the older boy said, trying to find balance with his posture while still holding the weapon in his hands, moving it to the sides to check its weight.
  Then, Lord Neji thought it was enough experimenting and–
  God, he had gotten so close to the cook, using his hands to accommodate Lee's posture and arms without even realizing that he was pressing himself against the younger boy's lower back. Lee felt himself getting agitated, although there was no reason to feel anxious about him– but he still did, his cheeks warming up out of a sudden as the brunet shifted his body to help him get a firmer hold on the weapon.
  "You weren't firm, anyone can make you fall that way," Lord Neji explained calmly, making his companion hold the wooden sword over his head. "This way, you can parry attacks going down. Try doing a diagonal slash– once you start getting the hang of this, I’ll start sparring with you. How does that sound?”
  “I would love to do that! So… is it like this?”
  His companion let go of him, crossing his arms over his chest to observe how Lee attacked the air– he gave him some suggestions and feedback, helping him slowly gather more and more strength in his hits— although his hands were already all scratched and bloody from the warming up they had done before, Lee continued, determined to get better.
  …The sun was starting to run away from the sky, slowly turning it orange and red. Lee was having so much fun that he almost didn’t realize what time it might be, and it seemed that the same could be said about Lord Neji– he was giggling, and it was so different from what the cook was used to seeing… If he had been a woman, Lee would almost say that his companion looked beautiful. His chest felt funny, but he remained in silence, suddenly remembering he wasn’t even supposed to be there.
  "Oh, it is getting so late! I am sorry, my Lord, but I must go to the kitchens once again," he exclaimed, scratching the back of his neck. “Thank you for helping me today, I really appreciate it!”
  Lord Neji squinted his eyes, his smile disappearing from his face. Oh no– was he mad at him now?
  “ Why do you have to go? I gave you my permission to spend the afternoon training with me– and I will let you keep coming here when I can find time in my schedule. Didn’t you want to be a knight?”
  The cook didn’t know how to respond, afraid that the prince would do something to him due to his disappointment– he even flinched when Lord Neji got closer, his heart beating so quickly that he felt like it would explode. He tried to speak anyway.
  “Well– uh, you see, I was supposed to return to work some hours ago. My Lord, I want to be a knight, but I am just a cook,” Lee explained, becoming painfully aware of how sweaty his palms became. “I can not afford to skip more days. Please understand, my Lord– I will be back here tomorrow, but I do not have much time to spare.”
  That didn’t seem to fully convince the prince, but he let him go away without saying anything else.
  And somehow, Choza didn’t even complain at his lateness, which he would have done before. Lee could’ve sworn he saw the other boy leaving the room before he even arrived, yet Tenten didn’t believe his words when he told her all about his crazy afternoon with the Lord, she just complained that he had given her more work just by being absent for a long time in the kitchen.

Kaeya, Hu-tao, Raiden Shogun and Lisa having their thirst awakened by the sight of their lover well exercised shoulders and back as they Train (Kaeya), do woodwork (Hu-tao), translate text and write scrolls (R.Shogun) or simply do some heavy lifting (Lisa)
Put a shirt on that beast? What? And lose the chance to admire that piece of fine art! Let them be horny.
Them Being Aroused by Your Back Muscles
Characters: Kaeya, Hu Tao, Raiden Shogun, Lisa x gn!reader
Warnings: Slight nsfw
A/n: I feel bad for posting a thirst headcanon after not posting for a while but I gotta do what I gotta do 😎
Tumblr media
• Kaeya is always such a naughty man with a big personality. His humor consisted of teasing you, rarely did he ever actually get flustered by meaningless flirting. Yet something about your physic drove him crazy.
• Although Kaeya is known for being quite a mischievous young man, he knows when his schemes are appropriate and when they’re out of pocket. So when out of the blue your shoulder muscles pultruded he couldn’t simply keep his composure as always.
One swoosh, your sword cuts the grass so slightly. Another swoosh, your sword mimics over and over as sweat sweeps down your forehead. Your vision grew blurry as you descended into an autopilot state as you trained just outside of the borders on Mondstadt. You didn’t even recognize the heavy footsteps of the man sneaking up behind you.
A hand slithering atop of your shoulder as he stops the swinging of your sword with a swift but firm catch of your opposite arm when it raised once more. “Interesting- you’ve been training quite fervently haven’t you?” He teases you, you knew his cruel personality was disguised by his lazy laid-back attitude.
“You know I came to visit you exclusively, and you’ve greeted me with certainly a delightful view.” Despite the breeze of Mondstadt winds cooling the beating of the afternoon sun, you felt your face flush and an impending heat stroke just through your embarrassment.
A man such as himself had no shame in holding his inner desires anymore when it came to you. With a sharp kick to his right shin, he released you from his grip, freeing yourself as you dust yourself off from his germs. “Jeez, so feisty,” He hissed, “Not even a hi or hello to your captain? You never were an easy one were you?”
Tumblr media
• Hu Tao usually isn’t such an observant person to your sexual appeal. She was with you in the first place because of your tolerant personality, not paying much attention to your physical appearance.
• Hu Tao was caught very off guard when it first hit her. The butterflies in her stomach as her flower-shaped pupils dilated to the maximum. She hadn’t the slightest clue what her innocent heart was feeling for you, trying to play everything cool.
You wiped the sweat from your forehead as you took a deep breath, your hand resting on the handle of the axe as its head rested on the forest floor. Winded as you had just split two logs of wood in a single moment. As you positioned another log to cut, you heard twinkle toes scuffling through the fallen leaves and twigs.
Looking behind you was your girlfriend Hu Tao. “Aw man~ was I too loud? You should’ve just pretended you didn’t notice me hehe,” She joked around with you. As much as she was pretending, she really wanted you to stay turned from her. The reasoning behind her slow steps was that she wanted to admire your figure longer without being a total stalker.
“Turn around and work again hmm? Don’t let lil’ol me bother a hunk such as yourself,” your face in pure confusion. Your physical state was so worn that you didn’t realize how odd Hu Tao was acting. Her arms reaching to give you a massage as she smoothed out the valleys of your back muscles. “Hmm, when did you become so toned?”
Her body coming closer as her head enclosed in the nook of your neck. A small giggle vibrated your neck as she planted a kiss before immediately fleeing the scene to go do whatever she had to complete in this neck of the woods. Giving you a quick salute as her eyes felt dizzy, “See ya! I gotta do some uh- prepping for burials.... hmm, yeah.”
Tumblr media
• Ei also isn’t observant, not because she’s dense, but because she just doesn’t care for outward appearance. All that mattered to her in the past was power, if you didn’t have any you didn’t matter to her.
• When Ei saw you she thought her eyes were deceiving her. Your defined muscles portraying those drawings in books made for ancient models with the perfect body. When she felt your shoulders it ignited her inner craving for you.
Ei felt a little hazy, bursting the doors open to your bedroom to ask if you’d have the pleasure to join her for some tea. As she made her way to your desk the first thing she saw was your naturally toned muscles, glistening as you wrote paragraphs of words on a single scroll. Was it even possible for a mortal to achieve such physic?
She silently approached you, too captivated to mention her presence. The cold touch of her palms dragging down from your neck to your shoulders as she leaned in to kiss your cheek briefly. Her oddly affectionate state catching you off guard. You even felt her long and thick strands of hair draping around you. Looking up at her with curious eyes.
Her hands made wave motions as they dipped into the crevasses and reappeared on your body. “Have you been working out recently my love?” She whispered in your ear, her eyes closed in a poised manner. “Remember not to stress yourself- I can tell you’ve been working hard, I don’t remember you looking this pleasing to the eyes.”
You hummed in her hold, listening to her steady breath become steamy as she continued to subtly feel your muscles. She knew you knew what she was feeling, her eyes just a sliver open as she whispered in your ear, “You dare seduce the Shogun?”
Tumblr media
• Lisa is naturally in touch with her sexuality. A stunning, young, and intelligent woman such as herself knows her self worth entirely. She’s careful choosing you as her lover, making sure each and every “asset” of you is to her complete liking.
• Lisa was the most boisterous about her lust for you. The moment she saw your shoulder muscles flex while lifting that heavy box she began howling in excitement. She just had to get a feel, maybe a lick, or a kiss despite your pleads.
You knelt down close to the ground, your posture adjusted so you wouldn’t pull a muscle as you grunted to lift a heavy box full of books. Lisa was redoing the library layout and needed help lifting all the books in the boxes. Not only were you available to help her, but you were free labor for her. Your back tensing against the weight of the hardcover books.
You thought you could hear someone cry in pain, but it was just Lisa shouting “awooga!” as she cat-called you. The sound of heels clacking against the wooden boards, you could hear her approaching you ever so slightly. One foot in front of the other until she finally reached you. Bringing you in closer as you felt the curvature of her body run down your spine. The feeling of acrylic nails dragging against each shoulder blade, feeling each valley and hill of your back.
The warmth of her hot breath as you heard a loud smooch, feeling Lisa’a open mouth against you. Even some vague wet marks, you couldn’t feel it all that well, but you could definitely tell how graphic she was acting towards you right now. “Miss Lisa, please… I might drop your precious merchandise,” you panted with a large blush.
“Forget about all that darling,” she whispered against your back. “I cannot simply stop here when you’ve got me drooling for you already. Such a tease you’ve been recently with me,” you felt her pout on your back as your grip loosened on the box.

Demons is what killed much of his family’s and what made him be a slayer and lash out on all demons, even at his younger brother, closing him off despite his constant persistence
You were the only thing at this point keeping him sane, you were his safe space. Everyday he would look up to coming home to you despite his bloodstained hands and clothes, and yet you were never bothered by it and still gave him that warm smile and embrace he loves so much
You made him feel safe, made him feel that he wasn’t a bad person despite the things he did. He thought you looked perfect to him, you always had this calm nature around which made fall in love with you even more
But now, it feels anything but calm, he can’t help but shake at the scene in front of him. He only left to get flowers for you as a thank you for being with him, but now he drops the flowers and looks at the horrifying scene in front of him.
You’re on the floor shaking and trembling, sobbing and screaming at the pain from you body changing. Sanemi knew what was happening and he was horrified, you were turning into a demon and he couldn’t do anything about it.
“Please Sanemi! Do it please!” You yelled repeatedly at him and looked at him. He knew what you meant and got his sword ready with a blank face. Crouching in front of him you muttered something to him, “I love you, Sanemi..”
There was a moment of silence before he answered “I love you too… I’m sorry.” And then he quickly slashed your neck, staring at your now called head. He picked up the fallen flowers form the floor and placed it beside you
Another person close to him he couldn’t protect, and now the tears fall.

Demons is what broke his family and the relationship between his alive older brother who pretended that he didn’t exist and completely closed him off his life
You were his hope in this lonely dark lonely world of his, he hoped that he’ll be able to fix his relationship with his older brother and introduce you to him, and then you can all be happy family
It was a rare moment currently, Sanemi had finally agreed to come and meet his s/o, Genya was running back with a bag of food in hand, he assumed that Sanemi was already there where you were, he left you alone since he said he’ll be back soon and was just going to get food
Sliding the door happily and letting the sun shine through in the dark place, he heard shifting and saw Sanemi holding you down on the floor, confused on the situation he got closer and noticed how you were moving around in Sanemi’s hold who seemed angry and a hint of sadness
Sanemi looked up to see Genyas panicked face and spoke up, “She turned into of them monsters!” He told him, Genya in response trembled and fell to his knees, crouching in front of you.
You looked up at him and slowly calmed down, “I’m sorry Genya… he came here—I’m sorry! Please let me die… I don’t wanna’ hurt you…”
“B-But i cant!” Genya exclaimed panicked at what you said and Sanemi scoffed at him.
“They’re a demon! Do t you get it? Look I’m sorry—but we have to do this-“
“But I can’t! She’s my s/o!”
“And I’m your brother so listen to me!”
Silence followed and you were able to wiggle out Sanemis hold once it weakened for a second, you shakily walked over to the door and once Genya turned around and noticed what you were doing he started trembling and sobbing loudly, as he was about to get up to grab you, Sanemi grabbed him from behind and held him back as Genya thrashed around in his hold
Screaming at you, you only looked back for a moment and said “I’m sorry Genya… I love you, stay strong for me.” And with that, you walked out to the sun where you burned
“No, no, no, no!” Genya screamed and got out of Sanemis grasp once he let go of him and ran outside, but you were already gone and once the realization hit, he shakily dropped to his knees and sobbed loudly
There goes another person I lost, he thought and more tears fell.

Hanzo Hisashi X Innocent! Reader
Thank you EzraPFoxglove01for requesting this adorable thing! I sorta changed a lot you asked for by making it go into depth, and it ended up being the longest story I've ever written lol. So I'm definitely gonna add a shorter, more cutesy version of this story soon.
Change her outfit all you wish; it doesn't have a big part in the story at all. Though due to where she lives, it sorta makes sense for traditional Japanese wear to be her attire. And this is the kimono I have in mind, but change whatever :D To be honest, it makes sense to change the look to be more suitable for fighting while still maintaining an innocent, feminine character.
Tumblr media
Word Count: 6733
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hay....ya!" A feminine voice yelled out as she kicked a large hole into a tree. She didn't really have an specific training area so she often kicked and punched holes into tough looking trees, which proven to be as affective as training dummies and whatnot. She pulled away from the tree with a large smile on her innocent features.
She held her arms up to her chest with clinched fists. "Alright! Just 113 more to go," she reminded herself as she prepared for another kick. Yet just before she kicked the tree, she heard rustling in the bushes surrounding her.
She paused and looked around her everywhere. The wind began to blow which made it hard to hear whoever or whatever move again as the wind blew the all the bushes. She made a pouty face and walked over to where she heard the noise the first time. She had a bag that wrapped around her colorful kimono that contained kunai knives, and she pulled one out just in case. To be honest, with her small, airhead, and pouty form, she was the least intimidating person most people could ever see. And her small, F/C kimono with cherry trees on it added onto it.
The wind slowed down for a second and in that time, rustling in the bushes was heard again, where it did last time. "Huh?" She hummed as she slowly and cautiously opened up the bushes. "W-Who's there!" She yelled nervously as she parted the bushes completely. "Ahhh!" She screamed as she stepped back, tripping on whatever she stepped on. A baby bunny jumped on top of her from the bushes, it's guinea pig looking face staring boldly at her. Fuck it was frightening for a bunny to withhold so much toughness and boldness.
She whined as she pulled the bunny of her, causing it to run away quickly. She stumbled to her feet, barely managing to maintain her own balance for a moment. She watched the bunny hop away into the forest as she calmed her nerves. Once it disappeared, she sighed and opened her bag to put away her knife. Yet the sound of a voice behind her caused her to throw it towards the voice with perfect aim and fast speed. Yet as she turned around, she saw her kunai knife had been frozen but it wasn't frozen quick enough to prevent the one and only Kuai Liang from behind cut a little.
"Good aim," the Sub Zero complimented in his deep and husky voice, a smirk on his face. He pulled the kunai from the ice prison it was it and tossed it towards Y/N. Y/N's innocent E/C eyes widened as she gasped.
"Liang!" She ran towards him to hug him– but no, we can't have that without her tripping halfway. "Oof!" She hit the ground hard and whined as she slowly stood back up. She had cut her face on a rock but that wasn't good enough for her to not want to hug him just as hard. So once she stood up, she lunged at him and hugged him so incredibly hard. "I missed you! How are you!"
Kuai chuckled as he softly wrapped his arms around her. "I see you haven't changed one bit, dear friend." It's true that the two of them are close friends; although they don't have any fundamental qualities in common, they managed to meet one day and their opposite personalities captured each other's interest. And so here they are, together after departed months back. Right after Sub Zero and others were free from Quan Chi, the two got close again and only had a couple weeks to get close again before Kuai had to leave. Finally, months later, they're together again!
"I've been just fine, L/N. How about yourself?" He asked as he pulled his arms down. As expected, Y/N didn't let go and continued to sway back and forth.
"Oh, I've been good! Sorta lonely, yeah but I met this one guy! He leads an entire clan that let me in!" Y/N sweet voice called out in reply, her eyes twinkling. "I don't see him often but we've been talking a lot more recently. He's really nice...like a big, strong, teddy bear, hehe," she giggled as her legs went limp. Kuai chuckled at her dramatic description and pat her head; pushing the person she's talking about to the back of his mind. She got back on her feet again and pulled away from him. "Sooooo...do you have any combat stories to share? An adventure?"
Kuai shook his head. "Unfortunately nothing to tell now, but soon," he spoke as he looked up at the bright blue sky. It was maybe 8 in the morning  at the time. Y/N held her arms in front of her as she swayed back and forth as her head tilted in confusion.
"Okay...Oh! There's flowers growing around here and I want you to see it. They're so pretty- and pink," She emphasized as she took Kuai's hand and pulled him to a nearby pond. The trees surrounding the pond were waves with red and pink flowers ground from them. It's hard to tell, but in the distant was a village. And jn that village was, drum roll please, Hanzo Hizashi himself. As the two friends spoke about the scenery, Hanzo had just gotten ready for a day of training.
As he stepped outside, he took a deep breath and examined the place surrounding him. The birds were singing, the soft winds brushing past the trees and plants, the warm sun and clear skies. The sound of children playing can be heard from the background. It was pure bliss really. Yet even so, he had an uneasy feeling wash over him. The feeling that there could possibly be an unwanted visitor.
Hanzo walked closed the door behind him and walked out. He took his time going from his home to a place a little outside of the village; a more personalized dojo. It contained dummies and targets designed for his spear and fire. The little dojo was little ways across a pond near the village so that's where he was headed.
"And that's why that's my favorite color," Y/N said as she finished her story. Kuai Liang, to be honest, wasn't paying attention to her at all and simply nodded. She smiled at his politeness to at least pretend to acknowledge what she's saying; Y/N knows she can get really immature sometimes and right now really isn't her best moment. "Eheh, so what do you want to do?"
Kuai looked over at her with a soft smile on his features. He really was such a peaceful man at heart. "I believe I saw a few rare ducks fly into the pond. Would you like to go see them?"
"You're not going anywhere."
Y/N sharply turned her head towards the pissed looking man walking towards the duo and gasped. She stood up, saying, "Kuai, this is the man that let me into his village! Hey Hanzo, this is Kuai‐"
"He already knows who I am," Kuai cut her off coldly and stood up. "Hanzo, I mean you no harm; had I known this was your territory, I would not have come." Hanzo pulled a sword from his back and held it up in a firey fists once he got close to them. Y/N stared idlely at them with growing anxiety. The two picked up on that quickly, making Kuai speak up again before Hanzo could. "The girl does not know of our rivalry. Don't punish her for my mistake, Hanzo‐"
"Do no speak to me like that. Leave at once!" Hanzo may be alive, but that doesn't mean he can't revert his voice back to his hellish Scorpion one. Kuai took a few steps back before turning around and disappearing. Hanzo and Y/N watched the whole way through in complete silence. Once Kuai was gone, they silence broke.
"I–"
"And you," Hanzo walked up to her and grabbed her by the collar of her shirt. "Exactly what made you think bringing a guest without permission was anywhere near exceptable? You endanger every one of us at this village that way." Y/N could feel his fire-hot breath against her as he spoke. A shiver fell down her spine as looked him right in the eye. She didn't respond, but rather bow her head. Hanzo scoffed, flames igniting from his fist that began to burn her clothes, making her whimper beneath him. She felt the flames heating up her neck, which made her whimper more as the pain wasn't something she was exposed to often. "Part of me wants to kill you right now. You are very lucky to have caught me in a better light."
Hanzo let go of her, stepping away. Y/N bowed her full body lowly, hands to her knees. "I'm deeply sorry sir, I really am. I promise I will never bring another guest again. I knew not of Kuai and your's relationship and if I had known when I met him in the woods a little bit ago, I would have got him to leave. It was foolish of me to have not stayed in the village and possibly risks a bloody situation. For that, I am sorry." As Y/N finished, she heard nothing but the sound of a sword being put away.
"As long as this never happens again, L/N," he spoke coldly. "I forgive you. You may continue what you were doing before he arrived here."
"Thank you so much, sir!" Y/N called out happily as she stood up straight with a smile on her face. "I promise you won't regret it!" Hanzo remained quiet and simply glanced down instead. A more calm and positive feeling took over his previous anger quickly, leaving behind a little bit of confusion. Y/N took a few steps back over to where that tree she was kicking earlier was before Hanzo spoke up again.
"I apologize for being so harsh, as well. You said you met you here; was this planned?" He asked her as he his fists were undone. Y/N shook her head when she turned back towards him. Hanzo examined her face for a moment before sighing, then a smile grew on his face. "Very well. I appreciate your honesty. Actually, would you care to join me for tea later? As leader of this clan, it feels right for me to know all my people, whether they are a weary traveler or blood."
"Of course I would," she said softly. "What time?"
"Tomorrow at dawn."
"So be it." And with that, Hanzo began to walk towards his dojo and Y/N walked towards her special tree. The two of them had that tea on their minds as they practiced whatever it is they were practicing. How would it turn out? Would Y/N innocent immaturity get her in trouble? Would Hanzo appear too serious? Will they make up and gain trust? Maybe something else? We'll see in the next paragraph.
Time flies by quickly when you're having a good time, and for Hanzo, he was quite happy about the thought of getting to know Y/N more. And also to learn more of her relations with Kuai. As for Y/N, she was nervous as all hell since she knows she can be a handful sometimes. To be honest, a simple deep breath was able to calm her down and bring the adult side out of her. So here she was now, looking at herself in the mirror of her guest cabin and taking deep breaths to calm her nerves.
"You got this Y/N," she told herself as she took her final deep breath. The kimono she was wearing was different as it was longer and above the wrists, meaning she was unmarried. It still had a pretty design on it, with the colors overall being F/C, pink, yellow, and blue. The had her H/C hair up in a bun with two strands falling over her shoulders. She had a pin that kept her hair up with a beautiful flower attached to it. To contribute to her Japanese asthetic, she had a folded fan that was black with red cherry trees designs in it in her hand.
She smiled at herself in the mirror one more time before she turned to face the door. She slid open the door to the guest home and put on her shoes before walking outside. She closed the door and prepared to head off the selected location. On the other hand, Hanzo was sure to be formal as well.
He wore a montsuki, which is a formal black kimono worn over a white under-kimono and hakama, which are traditional Japanese trousers. It was common for samurais to wear this underneath their armor, so it suited him well. After all, he was both ninja and samurai; he kept his hair in a man manbun as well. He was very good at maintaining a formal way of speaking and acting, yet he knew Y/N isn't all that. Someone as free spirited and naive really isn't all that capable of it, in his mind.
He was sitting down in a chabudai; one of those short legged tables that have cushions to sit on your knees on rather than to sit on chairs. At the moment, in another room of his lonely home, was a kettle that was boiling water. Authoress is not a Japanese fanatic who knows Japanese and is basing these designs of real Samurai and Wife dolls by their bed, I swear. It was perhaps halfway done by the time he heard a voice call from the outside of the front door; "Hello, it's Y/N. May I come in?"
Hanzo smiled softly to himself as he stood up and walked over to the door, sliding it open. To say he was shocked to see the free spirited girl in such a good-mannered attire was an understatement. "You look lovely tonight," he stated as he looked Y/N head to toe. On Y/N's side, she noticeably blushed and gave him a sweet look.
"You look lovely as well, truly."
Hanzo raised a brow and stepped aside for Y/N to step inside. And rather than her normal fast walk with swaying arms side to side, she slowly walked in with her hands held together in front of her. "I haven't yet seen this side of you, Miss L/N. I am a proper kind of person so don't think I won't hold it against you if you act unmannerly," he teased as Y/N giggled to herself and took her shoes off at the front door.
"I thought that maybe I should act a bit more, I guess, fancy in order to match you. As long as you don't believe in the whole women are beneath us bigger men and shouldn't talk unless spoken to thing, then this shouldn't be too hard, hehehe," Y/N said as she was lead to the chabudai by Hanzo. She sat down on her knees on side and he on the other.
"Of course I would not act on such a thing. We are all human with equal rights," Hanzo replied as he sat his hands in his lap. His looked down at Y/N'a hands, which were on the table, before shooting her a look that told her that she was doing something wrong. Y/N hummed in confusion before gasping lightly. She put her hands in her lap and smiled innocently, creating a chuckle from Hanzo.
Come to think of it, the hone hasn't yet been described. It's easy to imagine the paper and wood that made up the walls and doors, and the warm light that shun over the two people. The carvings on the wood above them and around them, the large pot with a bonsai in it in the corner of the room. The little wooden seats with drawers distilled in them built into the walls of the home. The wooden tables with traditional statues and little plants in pots across the home. The sword holder near the front door, the mats across the floor to give the unique taste. In the kitchen had built in furnaces where people would burn a fire in the wholes on the bottom and put cooking appliances and kyūsus on top of it. If you don't want to imagine that, here's something help.
"Have you ever studied Japanese arts? Surely you must have had some experience in a place like this, or perhaps a friend to lecture you on what to do," Hanzo explained his thought process as he looked interestingly at the smaller girl.
"Actually, I had Kuai teach me a lot about Chinese culture. But when I met a swordsman named Kenshi, I learned more of Japanese tradition. I may not be the best, but I tried to use my knowledge of both cultures to act as good as possible! Um, I mean," she paused as her face lit up red. "To act as good as possible." She but the inside of her lip nervously as she grew more and more embarrassed of her voice level as she spoke. Hanzo chuckled.
"I'm glad I invited you here. You are very knowledgeable it seems. Plus quite entertaining," he complimented. The kyūsu began to steam loudly, meaning it was finished. Hanzo glanced over to the kitchen.
"Heh, I wouldn't say knowledgeable," Y/N replied, "but thank you." Hanzo stood up, nodding his head towards her as he walked put of the room.
"I apologize but the tea must be attended to. I will be back in a few moments," Hanzo explained before he disappeared behind a wall. Y/N nodded in understandment and began to fight with her hair, kimono ends, fingers, and whatever else she could once he walked out. When Hanzo walked into the kitchen, he felt heat rise to his face. He leaned onto a little table with his hand on it to keep his steady and his other hand over his chest. Oh kami, he thought, she gets cuter each time I see her. Whether she's trying to be like me but failing miserably or being her bubbly self does not matter; she is perfect.
He did his best to calm his nerves before grabbing the kettle from the furnace and grabbing a kyūsu, an appliance for making tea, and slowly pouring hot water into it. He made a kind of sweet green tea, one that many foreigners don't know about, called Sencha. It has to be made with the coolest kind of hot water, basically, otherwise it will turn bitter. He made sure the watch it carefully for about half a minute before grabbing two cups and pouring the tea. He then picked up the two cups and headed back to the chabudai. Yet before he got to the room, he paused.
A feminine voice sung a soft song as she waited for Hanzo to return. Hanzo felt his cheeks heat up again and his chest felt warm. He could recall this feeling but from where he first felt it is unknown to him. The ready may be able to assume that he was thinking of his first love, his wife, and how he felt when he fell in love with her. But that idea hadn't even crossed his mind as he felt there was no way he could ever feel such an extreme emotion towards anyone else. And marriage isn't even a question since she isn't from the clan. He took a deep breath before walking back into the room.
Y/N stopped singing and she smiled widely as she saw him. "Hey Hanzo! Or, um, sorry, haha. The tea smells very nice," she complimented as she gripped the sides of the cup with her little fingers. Yeah, there was definitely a way he could feel such an extreme emotions towards anyone else. Hanzo sat down on his knees on the other side of her, mumbling a quick thank you to Y/N and a thank you to the Gods' gift of tonight. And in his mind, a thank you for what to him felt like a gift from the Gods' to end his grief from his early wife.
"Mm! This is really good!" Y/N gasped after tasting it. "This is the best tea I've ever had!" Her eyes were wide in awe and her expression showing her impressment. Hanzo chuckled at her adorable reaction as he took a sip of his wom drink. It's been maybe 8 minutes since Y/N got there and she already forgot to remain all traditional and civil. It was adorable to him; she was so precious really.
And throughout the night, the two of them talked and laughed and jokes and got close. They remained at the chabudai most of the night, aside from when Y/N asked for a tour. She adored the bonsais, scenery that can be seen from outside the window, paintings around the home, and everything. She was so naive but to Hanzo, that wasn't particularly a bad thing. It made her all the more fun to be around. And because of how great of a night they were having, they even agreed to meet up the next day.
"Excuse me, Miss Y/N," Hanzo said as he stood up from the chabudai. "I will be back in one moment. Please help yourself to more tea if you'd like."
"I will," Y/N responded sweetly. Oh, on a side note, Y/N completely forgot about the traditional thing completely so don't expect her to stay put in the few minutes Hanzo was gone. Actually, by the time Hanzo came back, Y/N had her head in her arms on the table her body slowly rising and falling with the rhythm of her breaths. Hanzo couldn't help but find himself smiling down at her. He got that warm feeling in his chest again though it was different this time. It wasn't as unfamiliar as before. He knew what it was; it was love slowly blossoming.
He sighed softly before picking up the sleeping girl's tired form and carrying her against his chest. She shifted a little bit in his grasp and ended up being hudled against him more, making that warn feeling in Hanzo's chest grow more. Such a sweet, innocent creature. He slid open his door and brought her back to her guest home, where he laid her in bed and brought her hair down from its updo in order for it to not be as bad of a mess tomorrow. He kissed her forehead and then left to sleep in his own bed until the next morning.
The next day was the same as the previous. And then the day after that, and the day after that day, and so forth. But one day was a particularly cold day and a cold blanket of snow began to cover the land. Y/N was at Hanzo's place, watching the snow fall through an open window with her E/C eyes wide in amazement at the beauty. Hanzo was standing behind her with two cups of tea in his hand.
"Would you care for a drink?" He asked, making Y/N turn around.
"Thank you, Hanzo!" She said as she took the drink from him and took a big sip. It tasted sweet, as it was the tea she had when she came over for the first time. "Say, I sorta wish we could have gone outside today. I noticed that you like to fight in that place by the pond a lot; which is really great to watch! You're so strong, hehe. But you've never actually seen me fight before," she explained right before she took a sip of tea. "Y'know, I'm painfully aware that people view me as an immature, innocent, naive girl who isn't the most aware of her surroundings. But I think you'll be impressed to see what I can do," she said confidently as she hummed.
Hanzo took a sip from his tea and nodded. "Perhaps. When it gets warmer out, I'd love to watch what you can do," he replied with an extra caring tone with his voice. He caught onto his tone quickly and blushed a little bit. "But there is something we can do outside," he started.
"What is it?" Y/N asked, standing up.
"Well, there's a hotspring nearby. We can swim in there if you'd like. However be sure to dress in something not too revealing if you would like to."
"There is? I'd love to!" She exclaimed as she bounced up and down. "I'll dmgi get dressed now," she eagered on as she put her shoes back on before leaving. Hanzo grabbed her up of tea and brought it to the kitchen. It's a shape it would go to waste, but he can always make more. He returned to his bedroom to grab something to put on while swimming but please, just imagine what he'd wear to swim. Traditional swimwear is too nasty to be used in this book, but swimming trunks are too modern. As for Y/N, considering she never had a particular home or culture, it made sense for her to just wear a full body suit she could have gotten from anywhere in Earthrealm.
Of course, the both of them were sure to bathe before hopping into the hot spring. Well, Hanzo slowly got in whereas Y/N jumped in without any care. It was warm, shocker there.
"Ahh...Thank the Elder Gods for getting me here before I froze to death," Y/N shuddered as chills ran up her spine. Though those chills were disappearing as the warmth of the hot spring washer over her soon enough. Hanzo rested his body against the large rocks around the hot spring and found a seat-like area. Y/N swam around happily and sung to herself.
Oh, one thing worth mentioning for the sake of the next paragraph is that Y/N had a necklace around her neck. Hanzo had never noticed it before as it was always under her kimono or shirt. However that necklace had a great significance go it; she was told that with that necklace, she would be able to find her parents who seemed to have lost her at birth. That necklace was the only thing that remained of them and hopefully destiny was kind enough to help her find her parents.
"Kyaa–" shrieked as a splashing sound was heard. Hanzo stopped daydreaming and looked over at Y/N, who's hair covered he face and arm frantically tried to keep her body floating. She quickly pushed her hair out of her face and whined over and over again worried. Hanzo instinctively swam over there as fast as possible, grabbing ahold of her gently yet sturdy. "Where is it!" She cried out, feeling her body and looking around the waters.
"Where is what?" Hanzo asked in his husky voice that was now in a confused tone.
"My necklace! I can't find my necklace!" She replied worriedly, tears swelling in her eyes. Hanzo looked at the tears forming and felt his whole body shiver woman's his heart drop. "I can't see it anywhere!" Hanzo began to swim towards the rock formation he was against earlier, making Y/N cry out, "wait!"
"Y/N," Hanzo sternly spoke. "I will find your necklace and return it. Worry not, please, dear friend," he reassured, taking her hand in his. She shook nervously and wiped her tears. Slowly, she nodded which told Hanzo he could swim away now. And so he did; he headed towards the stop where she cried out and with one deep breath, he went underwater. He had to hold his nose for warm waters were very dangerous to go under as dangerous fungi grow in hot waters. Yet even so, he swam to the bottom of the hot spring using one hand to stir around to look for the necklace.
Y/N waited on the rocks, sniffing and whimpering. She hasn't told Hanzo the origin of the necklace, but he could tell it was important to her. When she was little, she was handed the necklace and was told it would help her find her missing mother as long as she stayed pure. What that means is that Y/N had to remain free from murder, theft, and other ways of sin. Not only that, but she could not ever preform certain adult actions as then she would never find her parents (I say that because Y/N never had a parent figure to teach her what nono stuff is), which is her number one goal in life. She grew up going from city to city, state to state, country to country, and even had been in Outworld before. She grew up with so many cultures and had never found someone that was like her in any way. It felt like she didn't have an identity as she had nothing to trace her orgins to.
Splash! Hanzo took a deep breath of air as he finally reached the surface again, with a silver necklace with a S/F/C gem inside it that's carved to show an unknown design. "Is this your necklace?" He asked as he held it up. Y/N gasped, lunging back into the water and swimming towards Hanzo. Once she got up to him, she wrapped her arms around his muscular figure and cried.
"You found it! Thank you so much!" She cried out happily, pressing her body against him. Hanzo blushed at the sudden affection and slipped the necklace back onto her. He adjusted the back of of it so it wouldn't fall off her so easily again. "I love Hanzo... You're the best friend I've ever had... I really mean it," she whimpered out. Hanzo began to swim towards the rock formation again and once he did, Y/N let go of him.
"I appreciate it, Y/N. I love you as well, you're the closest friend I've ever had," he said back to her with a warm smile on his features. Y/N smiled back at him before examining her unharmed necklace.
"Hmm... Ever since I could remember, I would move from every country in the world to another. I've been to Paris, Beijing, New York, London, Los Angeles, a few different places in Mexico and Colombia, Holland, Tokyo, Osaka, and many more. I was carried from place to place by various of adoptive mothers, and each of them left a bit of their culture and identity with me by the time I left.
"But I had one that was a fortune teller and psychic. She was incapable kf having kids and didn't want to go through the trouble of raising one, so she took me, an 11 year old girl. She gasped when she saw me and took me in immediately. Before I left her, she gave me this necklace. "Y/N," she said, "you have the potential to see your real parents again. Train, grow stronger, read, grow smarter, listen, grow wiser. Stray away from the evil in the world and remain pure from your soul to your body. This is how you'll find your mother.""
Y/N paused and looked up at the larger male. He seemed intrigued with her story and made sure to listen carefully to her every word. So she continued, "as I grew older and began to travel on my own, I thought of her words every single hour of every day. I had no reason to live as I ever did was travel and meet new people, only to leave and never see them again. Just knowing who I really was became my only reason for existing. To this day, I bet the relief of meeting my real mom will feel like being deaf and hearing music, or being blind and seeing color, or being able to walk again after being paralyzed. But now," she paused.
Y/N smiled and looked up at Hanzo. "It's strange to feel so in place, so correct. I-I know I never felt this way about any place before! But I really think that as long as you're around, my chances of meeting my mom are good! Just being with you gives me hope for the next day, truly. It's like being with you is my reason to exist."
Hanzo closed his eyes and smiled back at her. He wrapped his arms around and embraced her warmly, his head being filled with nothing but pure bliss. Y/N hugged back tightly, feeling just as happy as he is right now.
And just as soon as it came, the day was over and the two had to return home and sleep. But this particular night, their dreams were better than usual. And two days later, the snow had cleared up and the ground was dry! That meant Y/N could go train today! Unfortunately, with her absent-mindedness, she forgot she wanted Hanzo to watch her so she remained in private as she kicked thicc ass trees down in two strong kicks and crushed stones into bits by simply punching it once.
"Hai...ya!" She called out as she forcefully brought her first to a stone celler that was abandoned randomly in the woods. But hey, no one was using it, so who's gonna cry about it being broken? The impact of her punch brought a giant circular impact onto the wall, and bits and pieces of it fell down. "Hehehe! 22 more to go!" She thought out loud as she pulled her fist back again. She wasn't alone in these woods, no, as there was a particular ninja/samurai person thing, idk, watching from the nearby bush. Not to be creepy of course! He was on his way to his dojo but heard noises, and discovered it was her after checking it out.
And d a m n. If Y/N saw his shocked face the first time he saw her punch the wall with that much force and endurance, she would laugh and tease him about it for a long time. He didn't expect her to be so quick in her movements and to cause such force. Like, a short little bebe in a pink, cutesy kimono with cherry blossoms being able to cause a fucking massacre to the wall? How could you blame him?
"Hmm... that reminds me!" Y/N exclaimed as she spun around to look at Hanzo. "I told you that you should watch me train! Is that what you were doing?"
Hanzo blushed heavily and was unfortunately incapable of hiding it in the direct daylight. "Indeed, Y/N. This is truly a wonderful sight to see," he replied as he looked away for a moment. Y/N gasped and ran towards him. He took a few steps back when he noticed how close she gotten, which caused him to get a little bit more flustered.
"You're sick? You're face is all red, Y/N whined as she pulled Hanzo closer. "You should be inside, mister, getting better! Not out here watching me fight when it's colder out here! Let's go bring you inside," he said as she grabbed his muscular arm and held it close. She turned towards the village of the Shirai Ryu and began walking towards it, pulling Hanzo along. How bold.
Hanzo but his bottom lightly and remained as flustered as before. "There really is no need, Y/N," he replied back.
"You're being quite irresponsible for a ninja, y'know," Y/N replied as she continued to walk him home. Hanzo sighed and just let her pull him along. He knew she would question him if he told her he wasn't sick so he choose into except it.
"Thank you for your concern," he replied lowly. Y/N giggled proudly and nodded.
"The best for you!" They arrived to the pathways of the village and began their walk. There was a few pedestrians walking by, including a dad and daughter and a separate woman. "I'll make you some tea and you can go to bed, okay?" Hanzo nodded, smirking to himself about how funny the situation really is.
"How caring," Hanzo spoke as they arrived at his home. The got inside and took their shoes off at the front door.
"Of course," she replied before heading towards the kitchen to make tea. Hanzo wasn't sick but he's been tired lately and what's wrong with sleeping in for one day? When he got the tea, it no doubt tasted way too bitter as Y/N doesn't really know what she's doing to be honest. But hey, it's the thought that counts.
Hanzo lied in bed, with an empty cup by his side and an small girl on the other. She sat on the bed, talking to him quietly about a bunch of random things until she said something strange. "To be honest, I know this is weird, but it almost feels like we're married sometimes. I mean, we're together all the time and have a very close friendship. You let me drag you in here and give you bitter tea even though you didn't want to. That's really nice, hehe," she giggled as she looked over at Hanzo. Her eyes shun something different from simply joy this time. Instead, it showed rather care. And potentially something more.
Hanzo felt a shiver go down his spine as he looked deep into Y/N's eyes. Emhe had to examine them to ensure that he wasn't just crazy or actually sick, but no, it looked like she really did care about him more than a friend. After all these months, it was officially, wasn't it? It was mutual. Hanzo smiled as he sat up on the bed. Y/N's cheeks lit up a little bit as he stared down at her with that look.
"Sometimes it really does feel like that, does it not? I can see as a good pair to be truthful. What about you?" Hanzo asked softly. Y/N cheeks flushed pink and her expression softened.
"I agree, definitely. I mean, how can I not, heh heh. You've been there from the very beginning and I've always seen you as this big, strong teddy bear of sorta. So sweet, so nice, so caring," she replied. Hanzo leaned in, making Y/N want to lean in too. And slowly, the pair came together and finally...they kissed. It was soft, tender, and it felt like it was meant to happen. Y/N's face turned red and Hanzo's tense emotions he felt disappeared immediately.
Heh, you know what? To be honest, they lady next door was known to be crazy about losing her baby girl a very long time ago. They had matching necklaces that were bought from a village far away from their's years ago when the Shirai Ryu was attacked by Quan Chi's forces. She escaped and went into hiding, and then found a man to marry to. Her child was named Y/N L/N, and whether she's not fully Japanese or fully related into the Japanese clan, she is blood and therefore she is capable of being the love of Hanzo Hisashi. Maybe the two of them will meet some day, huh?
Y/N couldn’t help but wonder if Draco deliberately waited until the last minute to tell her family that he was leaving so he could evade her questioning. She tried to talk to him later that evening by knocking on his door, but she was met with complete silence.
Draco was ignoring her, and she didn’t get why. She’d promised to not tell anyone--even begged for him to trust her and essentially swore on her life--but he still wasn’t acting normal. Perhaps he didn’t want her to badger him with questions about the magical world.
Or maybe this was an excuse to get away from her.
Y/N swallowed the second possibility and locked it away somewhere out of sight. He’d left without a single word more to her (not even a congratulations for getting into a top 20 school, that loser) and never even bothered telling her when he’d return. And maybe that was the nicest part of it--she could pretend like he was never coming back.
As attractive as that option was, she had to admit that there was a Draco-shaped hole in her passenger car seat every time she drove to school. And in the kitchen when she was studying. And everywhere else he’d once touched.
“Why do you think he went back?”
Y/N took a break from reviewing her Art History final exam notes to look up at Lizzy. “Maybe something happened with his dad or he wanted to spend his holidays with his family? It’s probably not that serious.”
“Speaking of his dad, I tried to look up his name and see if anything came up,” Lizzy began. Y/N felt her heart jump into her throat. “Don’t you think it’s kinda sus? I haven’t found anything for him. It’s like he’s been completely wiped off the face of the earth. Do you know anything about it?”
“Honestly, I don’t think it’s any of my business.” Draco’s franticness when she found out lingered in the back of her mind as she chose her words carefully. “I’m sure if he’s a genuine political target, they’ve just scrubbed the web clean of him, being a minor and all.”
“But don’t you think it’s funny that he’s apparently so important but there’s no evidence of him or his father ever existing?”
“Lizzy.” Her voice was firm. “It’s entirely possible that his real name is different. And either way, it’s not our story to uncover. He’s entitled to his own privacy, and if he doesn’t reveal his true identity then we need to respect that.”
“Oooookaaayyyyy, Mother,” said Lizzy. “You’re so fun. You know that, right?”
“It’s my job.”
After the close brush with Lizzy, Y/N avoided the topic of Draco with her friends like wildfire. At the back of her mind, she registered that that was probably more suspicious, but when Sylvia asked her about him during lunch, she finally spun up a story.
“I told him I liked him,” she told everyone, the words stinging her throat. “He doesn’t feel the same way. I just would feel better if we dropped it.”
Her friends reacted immediately with sympathy, telling her that it wasn’t her fault that he couldn’t see her for what she was worth. Somehow, this made her feel worse. She didn’t even need to tell him her feelings to know his thoughts--he didn’t see her as anything but a “muggle”, or whatever he called them. She never stood a chance.
Y/N spent an embarrassing amount of time wondering how things would’ve been different if she was a witch. She didn’t know anything about his world (apart from the fact that they really had a stick up their asses about people knowing of them) but she somehow craved a place in it. Would Draco feel differently towards her if she was magic?
It was probably better if she didn’t pay too much mind to it, but she couldn’t let the thought go. Every time she shut her eyes at night, the memory of waking up next to Draco replayed in her head, over and over. She would’ve sold her soul to have gone back to that. Would things have been different if she had just...not found the letters? She was driving herself crazy digging through all her interactions with him. There’s no way she was imagining things, and judging by the surprised reactions of her friends when she told them he didn’t reciprocate feelings, she wasn’t the only one who thought something was there. If he was really so disgusted by her and her people, he wouldn’t have let her sleep in his room, in his bed no less.
As December wore on, her mind began to be occupied by another feverish stream of thoughts. If she didn’t already feel like she was going crazy over the Draco problem, she was going completely insane over the fact that she was misplacing things like crazy and forgetting the most basic of things. It seemed like it was almost every day that she was forgetting where she put her keys (even though she could’ve sworn she’d hung them up by the door) or getting home to find the door already unlocked even though she was sure that she’d locked it behind her. It would’ve creeped her out, but she was really off kilter. It just wasn’t right having Draco away, and the sense of dread she got every time she went by her room just threw her off balance. What if she still had lingering sickness from whatever magical infliction she suffered?
He really should’ve stuck around to watch after me. Just in case.
Another thing was bothering her--a name she saw pop up in the pouch from when she went through his letters. It was a small portion of his collection, and she didn’t even think to examine it until after he took them back from her, but she noticed that the name “Pansy Parkinson” came up more than once as a return address.
Her mind immediately jumped to the worst--Draco was madly in love with another girl, a magical girl, and traveled back home with the express purpose of declaring his neverending devotion for her and complaining about that rat Ohioan muggle that he had to spend his days with.
Y/N knew it wasn’t healthy, but no matter what she did, she couldn’t quite shake it. The fact that he’d no doubt grown up around girls that would be suitable for him to date was making her physically ill with jealousy, which was probably the most embarrassing part of her feelings for him. Nevermind how much time she spent fantasizing about how soft his hair felt or how his stupidly pretty fingers would feel grazing her skin--she couldn’t even cope with the idea of him existing with other women that were honestly a better choice to him.
That Christmas was surprisingly bleak. Being an only child always made for a quiet house during the holidays, but the expectation she held of having Draco there set her up for disappointment. Her house felt empty.
“Do you think he’s coming back?” Y/N asked her mother as they did the morning dishes together.
“Well, I assume so. Why wouldn’t he? He was scheduled to spend the entire year with us. I think that if he’s changed his mind we would at least know by now.”
“What if he’s still deciding?”
“Why, miss him already?” Mrs. Y/L/N’s tone was teasing, but she felt her cheeks grow hot.
“Quite the contrary. I’m just wondering if I’m about to become the pampered only child again or if I’m going to need to go back into the unglamorous life of sharing the spotlight.”
“Y/N,” her mother tutted. She’d stopped doing the dishes.
Y/N made a point to evade her knowing look. “Mom.”
Her mother took a breath before answering. “Nothing. As a matter of fact, I did get a letter from him a few days ago. He’s scheduled to return the second week of January, right before school goes back.”
“Oh,” said Y/N. No matter how hard she tried, there’s no way her relief wasn’t visible.
“How’s that for your Christmas gift, hm?”
“Mom!”
“Hey! Hey, it was a joke,” Mrs. Y/L/N said, throwing her hands up in a “no can do” sort of gesture. “I know that you’re good friends with him is all. Unless…”
“Mom!” Her cheeks were all shades of red.
“All I’m saying is that he seems to enjoy your company.”
“Stockholm syndrome, I’m telling you.” Her explanation of what that meant was on the tip of her tongue before she stopped herself. There was no reason to--the only person who would need that explained to them was no longer on the same continent as her.
“Whatever you’d like to think.”
The snowstorm hit them without warning, two days after Christmas. Her parents had left for the night to attend a charity auction, but unfortunately for Y/N, by the time that they realized that their daughter would be snowed in, the roads were too dangerous to drive on. Y/N begrudgingly agreed to do all of the things they told her to--get the generator ready, make sure the fireplace was prepared, and locate all the candles in the house.
On any normal day, she wouldn’t have been concerned in the slightest, but she’d felt uneasy in her house ever since the night of the break-in, and now that this was the first night she’d have to spend alone, her heart was pounding at the thought of having to sleep in an empty house. Especially if the power was out. Especially when whoever broke in was still on the loose.
She locked up at dusk, making sure that every entry to her home was completely sealed shut. The generator was in the basement, all set up in the case that the lights went out. She’d located all the bottled water in her house in case the pipes froze, and she finally retired to her room to relax.
The sense of dread that hovered around Draco’s room was gone, thankfully. The overall feeling of creepiness was just beginning to lose its jarring sting, but she’d never quite been able to shake how many things she misplaced in the beginning of the month.
She busied herself with mundane activities--she cleaned out her closet, organized her drawers, read, changed her sheets, and finished the last of her homework--but nothing could distract her from the gnawing inside of her. The hairs on the back of her neck constantly stood up, even when she was tucked away in the corner of her room, nestled into her blankets. The tingling was akin to what she felt when she walked into that antique shop on homecoming night--the same night when Draco helped her off her feet and narrowly kept her from throwing up all over Heather.
Looking back on it, she realized that when he grabbed her wrist, he must’ve done something to quell her nausea, something magical. There was no way her carsickness could’ve been able to disappear so quickly.
Her soliloquy was interrupted by what sounded like footsteps outside. Before she could assess the situation and decide what she was going to do, a boom sounded off in the distance and she was all of a sudden bathed in darkness.
Y/N froze.
Someone was most definitely outside her house, but thankfully she’d locked all the doors. And, thankfully, the boom told her that her fuse box hadn’t been messed with. A tree had probably just fallen on a transformer.
But those small comforts still didn’t change the fact that she was no longer alone--and not only that, but no longer alone without power.
Her thoughts were interrupted once again by banging on her front door. Y/N jumped, just barely managing to clap her hand over her mouth to muffle her shriek. She’d seen enough horror movies to know that alerting someone that you were home wasn’t the smartest move. She’d have to be strategic.
Heart pounding out of her chest, she crept out of her room and down the stairs. The power outage was quite lucky, she realized, as whoever was outside couldn’t see in. The moon only cast a slight light as it reflected off of the snow, so she was going to be able to see the person outside before they would see her.
She squinted from her perch by the base of the staircase. She could make out a silhouette, a tall and lanky one. The weak moonlight reflected off a very light head of hair, and Y/N was struck with a feeling of familiarity.
No way...
Y/N stood frozen for a few seconds as she heard the person knock on the door again. A muffled version of a familiar British voice said, “Is anyone there?”
Throwing all caution to the wind and praying to any higher power that was listening to her that her suspicion was correct, she pushed down on the doorknob and swung it open.
Her heart stopped.
“Draco? What are you--”
Before she could get another word out of her mouth, she was pulled into the tightest (and snowiest) hug of her life. One of his arms wrapped solidly around her waist, the other reaching further up to her shoulders to hold her closer. He was tall enough in comparison that he could rest his chin on the top of her head while she cautiously clasped her hands around him, breathing in the same soft pine scent that she knew so well.
When he finally let go of her, she noticed that his face was decidedly less pale than what it had been when she first opened the door. At a loss for words, Y/N just made her way behind him and shut the door to keep the storm from blowing any more snowflakes in. She noted that Draco was shaking.
“You’re okay,” he said, his voice low and quiet.
She grinned. “Yeah. Believe it or not, I’m not that scared of the dark.”
He didn’t look nearly as amused, wringing his hands out in front of him instead of meeting her eyes.
“You’re going to freeze to death if you’re gonna just stand there in soaking clothes,” she chided. “And what are you doing back half a month early? I know you must’ve missed me, but I didn’t expect you to miss me THAT much.”
He rolled his eyes, bringing Y/N the comfort that the sarcastic asshole was still in there. “We need to talk.”
“No, what you need to do is get changed into dry clothes,” she said. “Not sure if you’ve noticed, but until we get our generator working, there’s no heat...and I’m not sure if the Ministry is going to like it if I let you die on my watch.”
Even though he didn’t normally laugh at her jokes, he seemed especially solemn when she said this. It became very clear to her then that he regretted his brief display of affection.
“What are you doing, just standing here? Shoo! I don’t want to see you dripping snow all over the rug.” She waved him off until he made his way up the stairs, still eerily silent.
Once she was sure he was actually getting dressed, she made her way to the kitchen where she started heating up the water. She’d never been more thankful for the fact that they had a gas stove instead of an electric one.
The tea was almost finished brewing by the time that Draco was back downstairs, perched awkwardly on the couch. She’d never seen his sweater before--it was in a rich forest green with a silver crest of a snake.
“Are you going to tell me whatever is going on? I’ve never seen you like this before,” asked Y/N as she handed him the mug that she knew to be his favorite.
He took a sip and waited a bit before responding. “I found out some things while I was away.”
“Is that it? Must’ve been something pretty interesting for you to come in here and act like I’m your long lost love or whatever.” She took careful note of how his cheeks were especially pink, but it must’ve been because of the cold.
“I shouldn’t tell you everything, but I think you should probably know the gist of things,” he began. “First of all, I figured out why I couldn’t use the Obliviation cube on you. Also, you have to consent to an Unbreakable Vow.”
“A...what? Care to elaborate? Like, at least a little? Why didn’t it work on me?”
He sighed, a sharp breath of air that left his lungs in a huff. “Because you stumbled upon a very important box that can bestow the gift of magic onto anyone. And since you did something in your dream to try and open it, it permanently took root in you. I tried to reverse it, but there’s always going to be an imprint of magic on you.”
“Sick. So I’m a witch now? Like you?”
“No.” His tone was sour. “No, you’re not. For that to work, there needs to be a ritual actually completed by someone magical. That’s why you got so sick--because you would’ve needed me to help you through your dream sequence and open up the box. So, now that you’ve essentially pushed yourself into the magical world uninvited, I can’t use anything on you that’s catered towards Muggles.”
“Rats,” said Y/N. “That’s no fun. What about the whole part about my safety? And what’s that vow thing?”
“Apparently someone really, really wants that box,” Draco told her. “It doesn’t just give muggles the gift of magic--it can also give current wizards powers that are otherwise completely unavailable to the rest of the population. In the wrong hands, they could wreak havoc on the world. And I’m almost positive they think you have it.”
“Oh…” Everything started falling into place. “So, the break in? That probably was them right? And, uh, let’s say if you feel like maybe someone has been in your house while you’ve been gone? Like, that’s something I should be worried about, right?”
“Is that happening to you?” His face looked significantly more pale.
Y/N was tempted to tell him no--just to ease his nerves--but something in his look told her that she needed to be truthful. “Um, kind of. You know how I can be forgetful, though. It’s just little things, like sometimes I come home to find that the front door is unlocked when I’m sure I locked it, or I can’t find little things like my car keys and my phone, but it’s all easily explained.”
“I never should’ve left,” he said, tucked his knees up to his chest. “I should’ve known that that was Merlin’s Box.” He swallowed, meeting her eyes with a gaze that looked so forlorn that her heart ached. “I’m so sorry.”
“Hey, hey, all we have to do is tell them I don’t have the box, right? And then they’ll leave me alone.”
“I don’t know,” he admitted. “I assume so, but if they didn’t find the box when they originally ransacked your room and they’re still hanging around, I don’t know what to do. That’s why I can’t obliviate you, the proper way that we use on wizards, because I can’t always be there to save you. Once I’m gone, you’re going to have to manage on your own.”
“Please, Draco,” said Y/N. “People will always talk a big game, but once I pull out my pepper spray it’s over. I can take care of myself! I didn’t need protection while you’re away.”
He smiled then, a small one that seemed more sad than anything. “You sound like me. When I was younger.”
“You probably don’t even know what pepper spray is. What’s that vow thing?”
“You have to promise that you won’t say anything that would reveal what you know about me and my world,” said Draco. “I need to find a wizard to say the incantations, but it shouldn’t be too hard. I ended up telling the Ministry what happened--I’m not going to get sent away as they have a clear record of me at least attempting to wipe your memory and they agree that you need to be able to protect yourself. Unbreakable Vows are just really intense promises. If you break it, you die.”
“Is that your way of saying you don’t really trust my word?”
He rolled his eyes. “It’s required by the Ministry. If you don’t comply, then you’re going to be completely obliviated and then you can have as much fun as you’d like trying to run from whoever that criminal is without even knowing why they’re after you. Oh, and without me.”
“Then why are you even offering the vow? Don’t you want to go home?”
Draco took a long drink from his mug. “I still have a sentence to carry out. If I go back home, I’ll get sent to the same prison that my father is being held at right now.”
“A...sentence?” Y/N stared at him. “I know you mentioned a punishment, but a sentence?”
He remained silent and refused to meet her eyes.
“Draco, what exactly did you have to do?”
“It’s none of your business,” he snapped. The sudden switch of tone made Y/N start, but he was unwavering in his scowl. “I’d prefer to not think about it.”
“But...Draco…” Y/N cast her gaze to the ground so she didn’t have to see the no doubt furious look in his eyes when she continued to push. “How bad? Do you think that maybe whoever is after me might know that I don’t have the box anymore? And that they might be trying to seek revenge against you for whatever it was that you did instead?”
He didn’t respond.
“Think about it. That would explain why I was untouched this whole time that you were away when they were still keeping tabs on me.”
With a pronounced bonk, he set his mug down on the coffee table. “I’m going to bed.”
She managed to get one more look at his face before he spun around to head up the stairs and was shocked to see what was etched into his face--anger, yes, frustration...and also shame. Unmistakable shame.
final a/n: weeoooooooo i’m like 3 minutes early...this is a monumental moment for my blog. let me know what you guys think (if there’s still people sticking with this series fjkds;al). i am going to go back into my hole and work on some math hw (wonders of ohio y/n vibes...i have low key become her trying to roleplay as a stem girl). the plot is going to thicken and hopefully there will be more fluff soon. i honestly didn’t want to add the hug bc i do want this to be slow burn but it has come to my attention that this is now about 30k words long and i haven’t given y’all so much as an inkling that draco has feelings/anything will happen between them so i gotta give you something to hold you over fjdska;
𑁍༄☀︎︎:... 🦋 ...:☀︎︎༄𑁍
Today was quite a beautiful day.
The sun shone down upon Shinobu, almost as if it was Rengoku or you smiling at her. It warmed up her face but not to the point where it was sweltering.
She's hasn't done much today, mostly just messing with a couple of medicines and then taking strolls around the butterfly estate. Nothing productive or interesting has happened.
The only thing that was slightly interesting that happened today was whenever Shinobu sent a letter to Tomioka telling him how lonely he was.
Other than that, today was relatively plain.
Twirling the promise ring on her finger with disinterest, Shinobu shut the book she was reading with a slight sigh.
She wouldn't admit it to your face, but she missed you.
You always managed to make her days so much brighter. But you were on an important mission, one that you've been on for a couple of days now. She's been sending you letters frequently, always getting a cheesy love letter back in return.
They never failed to make the raven-haired woman smile like an idiot.
'I wonder when [Y/n]'s coming back...' She ran a hand through her hair with a slight huff,' They've probably managed to hurt themselves or something like an idiot... Maybe I should send them a letter asking if they're okay.'
Her violet eyes closed for a moment, she enjoyed the silence as she imagined scenarios of what could've happened to you.
Soon, her thoughts drifted into when she would see you again. They gave rise to a soft smile on her lips.
She knew if she kept thinking about you, she'd end up falling asleep at her work desk. Be she couldn't care less at the moment, too mesmerized by the thought of you.
She missed how you would tease her for her height, albeit she does pretend to get annoyed when you would do so.
She missed your voice the most.
She'd always read the letters you sent in her head, imagining your voice. But her imagination never did your voice justice.
'I suppose I'll just have to wait to hear their voice again...' She thought as she was just about to drift off.
But something had interrupted her.
"AHHHHH!! WHAT IN THE SWEET AMATERASU IS THAT?!?" The familiar voice's screech of terror echoed down the halls.
'What the hell.' Shinobu stood from her desk instantly, rubbing her sleepy eyes before making her way towards the voice.
"GODDAMMIT, STAY BACK DEMON!!!"
She froze.
That was your voice.
And there was a demon in the estate?? How???
You were in trouble.
She grabbed her sword and ran towards where you were screaming for help. Her blood felt cold, her eyes wide with concern.
Kicking the door open aggressively, she held her sword outwards with a terrifying look on her face." [Y/N]!! Where is it?? The demon???" She questioned frantically.
You were standing on a chair, your form shivering. A shaky arm pointed at the corner of the room, making Shinobu raise an eyebrow.
She gradually made her way over to the corner and felt her heart drop.
It was just a fucking spider.
She gazed at you with a deadpan expression," You're kidding, right? You better be. Don't tell me your afraid of this spider..." she begged almost.
You gave her a genuinely offended look, refusing to get off of the chair until she had killed it," A spider??? That thing is a fucking monster!! Look at the little shit-" you pointed at it for emphasis.
When Shinobu looked at it again, she almost felt bad for it. It looked like it was trying its best to escape from your terrified screams and judging gazes.
She rubbed her temples, feeling a headache beginning to creep to her.
"Be careful, my love. You're small so it could eat you with ease!" You blurted.
Shinobu's eyebrow twitched, annoyance rolling off of her in waves. She sent her beloved an irritated smile," I may be small but I am mighty. Let that be a warning to you, honey." She threatened.
You shivered at the expression on her face, almost more frightened of her than the spider.
The woman sheathed her sword and crouched down to the spider, holding her soft-looking hand towards it and letting it climb onto her. She walked over to the nearby window and placed the spider on the ledge, finally closing the window.
You let out a dramatic sob of joy," that was so badass!" You wailed," why is my wife so much more badass than me??"
She looked at you and rolled her eyes," it was only a spider, for starters..." She began," And secondly, we're not married." You gasped at this," Finally, you have an IQ of two, so I don't blame you for being less better than me."
"My IQ is actually slightly below average-!"
She walked over to you, suddenly throwing her arms around your shoulders, pulling you close to her. Her face hid snugly into the crook of your neck as she inhaled the scent of cherries on you.
You were slightly surprised at her sudden action before relaxing into her arms, grinning brightly and wrapping your arms around her waist to spin her around, letting out giggles of joy.
She felt her heart melt at the sound.
"Christ... I missed you." She murmured.
"I missed you too, Shinobu. Promise the next time I come back from a mission, I'll make our reunion a lot more romantic." You joked, but there was a hint of truth behind your words as well.
She pulled away from your neck and stood on the tops of her toes, kissing the tip of your nose," I'll hold you to that."
You always knew what you were getting into when you married a superhero. You knew there’d be a lot of late nights, a lot of wounds, a lot of time away. When you had your daughter, you knew balancing a family with fighting criminals would take its toll. You knew it wouldn’t be easy, but you’ve always tried to get through it together.
Lately though, it’s been harder than usual. Bruce has become consumed with Lex Luthor’s threat, constantly coming and going without warning in search of heroes to help in a fight you’re not even sure is actually coming. Both you and Alfred have tried telling him there’s been no signs of other-worldly catastrophes, to no avail. You know he’s doing it to keep you and the world safe, yet it doesn’t always feel that way.
“Bruce,” you grab his hand, hoping to stop him from leaving again. “When are you going to take a break?”
“I can’t, you know that,” he responds firmly. “The world won’t be safe until we have a solid defense. I may be able to protect one city, but I need more help to protect everyone else,”
“Protect everyone from what?” you sigh. “Luthor is locked up, everyone else you’ve taken down is locked up. What are you so afraid of?”
“It’s the fact that I don’t know that I’m afraid of,” he puts his hands on your shoulders. “Please, honey, just trust me,”
“We miss you at home. Your own daughter rarely sees you anymore,”
“I’ll spend time with her soon, I promise,” he kisses your forehead and heads out the door. “I love you,”
 -
 You desperately wish that was the end of it, and life would return to normal as soon as possible.
But that was far from the case.
Bruce was right about one thing: a threat was coming. A big one.
A giant alien called Steppenwolf has set foot on Earth, searching for three objects called “motherboxes” and planning to use them against humanity somehow. Bruce won’t tell you exactly what will happen if he gets all of them, but you’ve gotten Diana to tell you he is most likely working for an even worse enemy named Darkseid, who wants to control the entirety of the universe.
It’s terrifying to say the least, and part of you is relieved that Bruce saw this coming and is actively preparing against it. But even so, he’s still been struggling to keep his promises to his own family in the midst of it all. You’ve been trying your hardest to be understanding, to keep coming up with excuses to your daughter about why her dad isn’t around and manage on your own, but you’re starting to wonder if it’s worth it anymore.
What is this will be your reality for the rest of your lives? Who’s to say there won’t be more threats like this all the time, never catching a break and never getting back the man you love?
 -
 The stakes keep getting higher and higher, everything moving too fast for you to keep up. Bruce is running directly into danger left and right, trying things that could get him killed. His team has supposedly brought back Superman from the dead, and Steppenwolf has now found the last of the motherboxes. They’ve fought him head to head once, and they’re planning on doing it again to destroy him and the boxes.
“Please don’t go,” you beg him. Most of the team has already gone outside towards the ship, and if you hadn’t called him he probably would’ve left without a word.
He huffs, “For once can you just let me do what I have to do?”
“I have been,” your voice raises. “But can’t you see how reckless you’re being? And you refuse to even talk to me about it? You could at least pretend that you care,”
“Don’t you dare tell me that I don’t care,” he points a finger at you. “Everything I’m doing is for our family,”
“Well maybe you shouldn’t have a family left to come back to!”
His face falls, and you instantly regret what you said, but it’s too late. He leaves, and you slump into the nearest chair, tears held back only by the anger you had been holding onto until this moment.
“Hey,” Diana comes up to you as she heads for the door herself. “I didn’t mean to listen in, but I think there’s something you should know,”
“What?” you groan.
“He hasn’t told you what will actually happen if the motherboxes unite so he doesn’t worry you, but they’re not just weapons. They’ll turn this planet into a mirror of Darkseid’s and kill most of humanity, and if Darkseid also finds the Anti-Life equation he’ll control what’s left of us. Bruce has also been having vivid dreams of a future where Darkseid wins, me and Arthur are dead, and…” she exhales. “You and your daughter are dead too,”
“I…” you can’t find any words to reply.
“We could all die out there today, whether we win or lose,” she shakes her head. “But I know he loves you, and if we make it out alive he’ll make sure you know,”
She puts her sword and shield on her back, and races out the door.
 -
 You don’t sleep at all that night, waiting several hours before you hear anything.
What if he’s dead and that’s the last thing you ever said to him?
What if you have to explain to your daughter the next morning that she’ll never see her father again?
The tears finally come, streaming down your cheeks like a waterfall. It can’t end like this, can it?
Your daughter hears you, coming into the room and sitting next to you.
“Did you and daddy have another fight?” she asks.
You nod. You want to tell her it’s more than that, but you’re not sure how much her poor little heart can handle.
“You should stop doing that,” she says matter-of-factly. “You’re both so sad all the time now. People who love each other shouldn’t make each other sad,”
“You’re right, honey,” you sigh, pulling her close to you. “You’re right,”
 -
 You must’ve fallen asleep on the couch, because when you open your eyes it’s almost dark again.
“Hey,” you hear your husband’s voice behind you. “I didn’t want to wake you, but-“
You jump off the couch and run to him, falling into his arms and burying your face in his chest. The tears start falling again, and he holds you in silence until you get over the initial shock and relief.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers. “I should’ve told you what was really going on. I never meant to keep secrets from you and neglect our family,”
You nod, allowing him to wipe the tears away with his thumbs and guide your gaze up to his.
“I’m just happy you’re alive,” you smile.
“Everyone’s okay,” he says. “We destroyed the boxes and killed Steppenwolf. We might not be safe forever, but we’re safe now,”
“Safe enough for you to come back to us?”
“Yes,” he holds you closer. “And I’ll never leave again,”
“Yay! You’re happy now!”
You turn your heads toward your daughter walking around the corner and up to you.
“I knew you would!” she giggles, hugging both of you. “No more fighting, okay? You should love each other instead,”
“Love each other, huh?” Bruce smirks, leaning in to kiss you.
“Ewww not like that!” she covers her eyes, getting a laugh out of both of you.
“Later then,” he says to you, and you nudge him playfully.
You follow her back to her room to tuck her into bed, something you always did together before all the chaos, something that brings back a sense of normal. She tries to get you let her stay up more, get you to tell her stories or answer her random questions, but eventually she falls asleep.
“I love you,” he kisses you once you’re alone again.
You wrap your arms around him, never wanting to let him go, “I love you too,”
Clear Waters (Fili x Fem!Reader)
Warnings: none
Word Count: 2069
A/N ok so I do not like this one as much and also it is veryyy long for me so that's also why. For this one, it is kind of open-ended and I still have not decided who it's for lol, It could be Thorin, Fili, Kili, or Bilbo. Who knows, even Dwalin or bombur. I lovvve being indecisive. so have a surprise and let me know if you have any requests. Enjoy xx
The water swept over me, my muscles taut with strain, but I felt freer than ever. The water was icy, but it soothed me. Muscle memory taught me to savor the moment from when I jumped in the water to when I clambered back on the boat. A few stray waves hit me, rolling me over a bit. I let them roll me, facing upwards towards the sky. I sighed. Bard would be back soon, and he would want me to help him with whatever he had today. Of course, I was more than willing to help. After all, he is the one that brings me out in these waters and lets me have time to myself. I began to swim to our meeting place, one that we both had memorized. I let my body relax, the tendrils of kelp trying to keep me from going back. I willed myself forward, but to what? More scoffing at my ideas, more remarking on how I am not married yet. But I had to.
The waves began to swell, and I smiled. Bard was here to pick me up. Of course, he did the old trick of pretending to almost run me over. I laughed at his antics, he rarely was ever humorous anymore. I hoisted myself up the side of the boat, sopping wet when I realized that he had company. I looked at Bard, who shrugged.
"Lass, you could have drowned! What are ye doing?" A crowd of what looked like 14 dwarves stood before me. They were all staring incredulously, obviously, they did not expect someone to be swimming in these waters.
"I'm just going for my daily swim of course. Did you actually think Bard was going to hit me? You have so little faith in your ferry it seems." I  wrung out my hair over the side of the boat. My explanation did not seem to suit them, but they dropped the subject fairly quickly.
"Now might I ask, who are you?" a voice said quietly. I looked up and faced a dwarf, no, a hobbit who looked very out of place.
"I am y/n, from Laketown. And who are you? It looks like you are a halfling unless my eyes deceive me," I responded.
He fidgeted a bit. He was obviously very uncomfortable. "Yes yes, that's me. Bilbo Baggins." He scooted back to the other side of the boat. An odd character he seems, out of place. Why was he here? I turned back around, tired from all the swimming. I met the eyes of some of the other dwarves. Two of them had a very mischievous look in them. Some were more somber. But one of them caught my eyes. He looked like he was the leader of all of them, even if he did not say anything. He had that air of authority to his figure. I caught his eye, trying to figure out what these dwarves were doing here, but his face did not give anything I way. I leaned my head back against the boat. Breath in, breath out. Slowly my eyes closed, letting slumber take over my willing body.
--------time change hehe--------
Bard shook me awake, motioning to the barrels that were now filled with fish. How long was I asleep for? I shook the last tendrils of sleep off me, and clumsily grabbed one of the barrels. I poured it onto the deck where Bard was pouring one, and a redheaded dwarf rolled out unceremoniously. I gave Bard a questioning look, but he motioned to stay quiet. Well, a time for everything I suppose.
Once we had poured out all the fish, dwarves included, I was free to go. But, after all, I am a nosy person, so I decided to go with Bard. For some reason we had to sneak the dwarves into his house, were they fugitives of some sort? Well, no matter who they were, they were picky, with everything. The weapons Bard offered were "not good enough". Everything seemed to pass by in a blurry haze. Clearly, I needed more sleep. I noticed one of the dwarves seemed to be in pain, clearly trying to hide it. I ventured a bit closer, but Bard called for me to help him with something.
The night approached quickly, and these dwarves were very somber. I walked up to one of them, the oldest one. "Might I ask what is going on here? Everything that I have ever heard about dwarves is that they are jovial, and I have rarely ever seen anyone this quiet," I spoke quietly, not wanting to draw attention to my confusion.
"Well lass, we are not here to stay, and we are a bit behind schedule. Everyone is just a bit tense, as this is very important for everyone," the dwarf said vaguely. "You're y/n aren't ye."
"Yes, that's me. And who are you?"
"Balin son of Fundin. It is a pleasure to meet you. Now I see you are a bit fiercer than the rest and I would like to know if there is an armory here where we can get weapons from. If you do not wish to help, that is fine. However, I can tell you want adventure. Make up your mind soon." He walked away to get some food, leaving me with my mouth wide open. How could he know? How does he know that I hate this place, that I want to leave on journeys? I would drill him about that later, but for now, I must help them.
I murmured some of the plans to Bilbo, who told Balin. Everyone else came to know, and the minute Bard would leave we would be off. Bard would not be happy with me, but I don't care. It's about high time I had something to do other than sitting around or swimming. I needed an escape. As we were all eating, talking amongst ourselves, I noticed Bard hurriedly whisper something to his son and slip out the door, unnoticed by everyone.
I yawned, "Well I think I will be heading off to bed. It was lovely meeting you all." I met all of their eyes, lingering on some for longer. I still noticed the younger dwarf hiding his pain, but I could do nothing at the moment. I left the house and down the stairs, waiting. After about five minutes I heard grumbling from the rest of the dwarves. I motioned for them to stay quiet and quickly led the way. I showed them the window that they could enter once we reached the armory.
"This is the only way in without alerting guards. Be quiet. If anyone of you makes a noise, it is over. I will leave once you get in unless there is anything else I can help you with," I said hopefully. I still wished to leave this dreadful town.
Thorin, the dwarf in charge, muttered some orders to the rest of them and then turned wearily back to me. "We are in your debt. Thank you for helping us," he said grudgingly, in a deep gravelly voice.
I nodded my head and left them, turning around a corner. I stopped though, for I heard them saying something.
"She would have been of use to us. Clearly, she knows a way out of here and we don't." I heard one of the dwarves arguing. I could not tell which one.
"No, she would only hinder us. She is soft, she has never left this village, she would only be a burden." I heard Thorin say gruffly. He wasn't necessarily wrong, but they underestimated me. I could handle a sword, and I would not hesitate in killing orcs. But if I showed myself, they would all not trust me. So I stayed hidden.
"Uncle you don't know that. Besides, think of what use a human might be. They perceive things in different ways sometimes. There's something about her. She would help us, I know she would." The other dwarf spoke.
Hmmm, which ones were his nephews. I thought the injured one was his only relative, but clearly, I was wrong. The injured one's voice was not as resonant as the one that was speaking. I accidentally shuffled a bit, and their voices grew quieter. I could no longer hear them, but it was nice to know that someone wanted me there. All of a sudden there was a huge crashing of metal and a couple of thumps. I fled the scene, knowing that I could not get caught with them. Everyone already was wary of me, I would hate to make things worse for myself.
I heard the shouting of guards as I ran, far enough away that I knew I wouldn't be caught. The town center, that was where they would be brought. I took some shortcuts, so hopefully, I could see them alright. Everything passed by in my anxiety-induced haze. If they mentioned me at all, I was well, screwed. I vaguely heard Thorin shout something, and everyone cheering, but I was mostly looking at the dwarves' faces and made sure they were alright.
Balin looked a bit concerned, and the youngest one was still trying to hide his pain, but everyone else looked joyous. I smiled looking at them. It was the first time I had seen them in a good mood. One of them looked right at me, he was blonde, and he looked younger. I think he might have been the one talking about me. I waved and he dipped his head in acknowledgment.
Everyone was busy celebrating that they were going to the lonely mountain, but I mostly wanted to check on the hurt dwarf. Kili I think his name is. But before I could reach them, the crowd pressed in. Drinks were brought out and I could barely move without bumping into someone. It got harder to breathe. I began taking quicker breathes, trying to push my way out of the pandemonium. My ears were ringing because it was so loud. Finally, I managed to get out, and I sat against one of the stalls, leaning my head back against it. Footsteps approached me, slowly, and I turned my head.
"They are going to bring doom to us all," Bard said hoarsely. "But all anyone wants is gold. Greedy things we are. It makes me almost sick to watch this. Do you want me to walk you back to your house or are you fine on your own?"
"I think I'll be alright for tonight Bard, thank you though. Goodnight." I replied back.
I closed my eyes for a second, listening to the laughter, beer slopping down the sides of mugs, something I have not heard in a long time. It is odd to miss things like this, especially when you don't realize you miss them. Some more footsteps approached me, but quicker, with a skip to them.
"My Lady," the dwarf said, bowing his head.
I smiled in return. "I am certainly no lady. And remind me, which one are you?"
"Ah, but you look like a lady to me. I am Fili, nephew of Thorin. Why are you sitting down when there are festivities to be had?"
"A gentleman does not ask a lady such questions." I retorted.
He gave a sly chuckle, "I thought you aren't a lady."
I laughed, not expecting this from him. But it was funny nonetheless. "Well, you have me there. Now tell me everything about this quest. I am keen to be on one myself and I would love to hear it all."
So Fili told me everything. Where he was born, why he wanted to go, everything. Obviously, some of the ale he drank was at work, seeming to make him more flamboyant than he usually might be. But it was amusing and laughter ensued.
When the music died down and people began to head home, Fili wrapped up his exaggerated tale.
"It was lovely to meet you Fili. I wish you the best of luck on your quest." I said softly. "Please try not to wake the dragon."
He chucked. "It was lovely to meet you as well y/n."
I waved him farewell and walked back to my house. It was always good to meet new people, especially these dwarves. They seemed like they could be so happy if they tried. Well, it is time to settle in for the night.
