The Still & Strings is back with an update:
We’re open for performance and staff sign ups!
We’re looking for performers, dancers, and staff to help us bring together an opening night like nothing you’ve ever seen.
Our opening night is October 2nd, 2020, at 9PM EST, and we’re looking for at least six or more performers to kick us off! We’re looking for everything: new performers, group acts, non-musical acts, you name it. Nothing’s off the table.  Our shows are structured differently than what you may have seen, so please look under the cut for a more in-depth exposition on how we operate on show night! Please contact us here via Tumblr DM, or Cael#7961 on Discord if you have questions! You can also find more information on our Carrd site!
The Still & Strings is proud to invite performers of all genres and levels of experience to come and show us their talents on our stage. Read on for more information about how our shows run differently than what you may have participated in before, or watched before.
Each Still & Strings performance night features several performers. We aim to present our talent in what we call a “blended” performance format.
What is a blended performance format? The blended performance format is unlike most performance shows we’ve observed in the past. Instead of one performer going through their entire act, followed by the next who does the same thing, we will be stringing performances together, as if we put the playlist on “shuffle.”
For example:
Someone else’s performance show:        111 > 222 > 333 > 444 > 555 > 666
   Our blended performance format:        1 > 2 > 4 > 6 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 6 > 1 > 3 > 2
What we intend by using this format is a more streamlined show, something that flows together and lets all our performers shine equally. Instead of the first person being kind-of forgotten by the end of the show, everyone gets to come back up on stage again and wow everyone – like a pallet cleanser but for your ears! It also gives us hope that our performers get a little more time to mingle and RP between their songs if they so desire.
What was that about dancers?
On the Tickled Keys stage, our dueling pianos serve as platforms for two dancers, also referred to as dance leaders. What this role does is simple: they lead the crowd with dances, prompting the audience to follow along and keep the experience more interactive.
We ask that our Dance Leaders possess a list of the most common dances, at least the following emotes: /sdance, /bdance, /hdance, /songbird, /cheeron, /cheerjump, /cheerwave, and /flamedance.
Not having all of these doesn't mean you won't be able to be a dance leader! Contact Cael#7961 on Discord for help.
I’m more of a staff person.
We’ve got a place for you! We need bartenders, security, and organizers to help us keep the events running smoothly. Want to help? Contact Cael#7961 on Discord!
