Slightly tentative info for now since I still need to revisit the old games for more accurate details but here’re what I’ve managed to come up with so far--

Iris Amicitia | age: 22 birthplace: Fortuna | current residence: N/A, just visiting Red Grave occupation: demon-hunter-in-training. sort of. mostly a bodyguard of sorts | affiliation: Order of the Sword (formerly), freelance | species: human

-Iris was born and raised in Fortuna and, like the entire line of Amicitias before her, was meant to be trained as a Holy Knight. Her parents, Dea and Clarus, worked with the weapons-research division, while her elder brother Gladiolus was already a Knight-in-training (during the timeline of DMC4).

-Iris and her family were present during the sermon wherein Vicar Sanctus was ambushed and killed, but because her parents anticipated the situation to worsen drastically they had Gladio flee with her to the outskirts of the city in order to avoid all the commotion.

-As Fortuna went through literal hell the siblings were thankfully among the crowds of residents being evacuated, although both Iris and Gladio sustained injuries-- Gladio received his several large scars while fighting off lesser demons, and Iris had been trapped by debris, crushing her right leg when buildings collapsed all around them. 

The two spent a good few months recovering at a family-friend’s place, waiting desperately for their parents’ arrival. It’s another year before they were finally ready to admit that Clarus and Dea just never made it out.

-Gladio applied his Holy Knight training to demon-killing, eventually training his sister as well so that she would be able to keep herself-- and others-- safe. He then went on to become a freelance demon hunter, putting his skills to use to make a living and provide for himself and his sibling. Iris thought that one day she’d follow in his footsteps, too-- but first she needs a better leg prosthesis than what she currently has, in order to kick ass a little better out there in the battlefield.

-Somehow Iris caught wind of a weaponsmith stationed in Red Grave City whose specialties include creating weaponized cybernetic prosthesis. That person was the main reason for Iris’ arrival in Red Grave, although witnessing the destruction caused by the Qliphoth and the sudden invasion of demons sure gave the demon-hunter-wannabe a chance to test her skills.

While Red Grave she freelances as a sort of bodyguard to those who are in need of protection and escort while traveling in and out of the city. Although she has use of a motorbike for fast travel, she is mostly on foot.

Fighting Style: 

Mainly fights akin to a Monk-class style. Uses MMA and Muay Thai-based moves in close combat; specialized fighting gloves which amplify physical damage dealt against enemies are her main weapons.

Able to pick up items or broken-off parts of enemies to use as make-shift weapons-- items can be used like a blade or for bludgeoning, like a shield for protection, or as projectiles to be yeeted chucked at faraway enemies. 

Each item has limited use and, once broken, cannot be used again.

Can Elemental grenades be a thing in the DMC universe or does that count as magic and/or would mean it has ties to demon powers? /thinking emoji. 

Iris here, like in FFXV canon, also has a moogle toy in which she deploys into battle not only to distract enemies before she is overwhelmed by their number, but it is also used as a weapon. More info later bc I still need to refine the details-- but think, as @leorugiet said, hackysack. 

The toy, after being thrown at an enemy instead of the ground, will bounce up in the air after dealing light damage, and Iris has the option to keep juggling the toy in the air/keep hitting enemies with it as it bounces back to her. Timed right, it would act as decent combos along with her actual fighting style (and the longer she’s at it, the higher the style rank would be. >:3c).

Style rank depletes straight to the lowest level if the toy hits the ground because of missed timing or is destroyed/captured by the enemy.

Misc Info:

-After having lived in the mainland for years, Iris got herself a cheap but decent motorbike from a local garage to get around with after befriending the mechanics there (and also offering her service as a bodyguard/escort whenever they need it). -The Amicitias’ family-friends are, just as in canon, the Hesters, consisting of Jared and Talcott. Maybe Monica Elshett and Dustin Ackerman are also present, just bc I like the idea of the two being demon hunters as well. -More TBA
