MORE HEADCANONS because I’m a stubborn fool who refuses to fixate on more popular ships (if you saw this when I accidentally posted it instead of saving it as a draft because I keep doing this shit in the middle of the night, NO YOU DID NOT)

As always, CWs for alcohol, violence, and some mild implied sexual content (from the OP). Say it with me now, folks…IT’S HAZBIN HOTEL! THIS. SHIT. HAPPENS!

-Carmilla’s biggest insecurity is the nagging (if irrational) fear that one or both of her partners is secretly with her for some ulterior motives- she can’t possibly enough on her own, they must want something else from her or else why would they waste their time with her?

- She once confessed this to Zestial in a VERY drunken moment of weakness. Zestial (who had been carrying her to bed at the time) was so completely aghast that he nearly dropped her. He cleared both their schedules the next day and spent it doting on a very confused Carmilla in an effort to reassure her how loved she was (she had forgotten everything from the night before and had no idea what he was so concerned about).

- Rosie killed her own first husband and served his body with pasta and wine. Carmilla killed her second for her, then forged his ashes into a lovely pair of diamond earrings for Rosie to wear to his funeral. She still wears the earrings to every date night.

- The two of them have a running joke that they’ll have to flip a coin for who decides what to do with Zestial if he annoys them too much one day. (He personally votes for a set of leatherbound journals, to be filled with ominous incantations -written in blood, of course- and then tucked away to gather dust until some unsuspecting soul stumbles upon it and releases his vengeful spirit. They aren’t entirely sure if he gets the joke or not)

- Zestial (in addition to his multitude of spiders) inexplicably has an odd little black cat that likes to trip Carmilla when she gets up in the middle of the night. No one’s really sure where it came from (or exactly what it is, because it’s not entirely a cat either) but it keeps the mice away from his minions and he rewards it with a saucer of milk and a basket by his fireplace to sleep in. And hey, if sometimes its legs seem to elongate just a little when it jumps up into his armchair with him, and if maybe its form seems just the slightest bit unstable when it purrs…well, Zestial doesn’t seem to care, so that’s that.

- Carmilla is not particularly fond of this cat. The cat is no more fond of Carmilla. The cat IS very fond of Rosie, which only serves to annoy Carmilla more.

- Rosie is a VERY affectionate person and is constantly showering her loved ones with every form of it she can think of (touches, kisses, little gifts, uplifting words, etc.). Alastor once dryly remarked to Zestial that he was glad his friend had found not just a single lover, but an entire family who she could spread her attentions to so she didn’t have to smother him all the damn time. (He regretted it when Rosie promptly ignored him for the rest of the visit and spent the night annoying Carmilla her office instead).

- Because Carmilla isn’t a big cuddler- or really all that big on physical affection at all outside of the privacy of their bedroom- her initiating physical contact has become both a rare treat for her lovers and and a slight cause for concern (she has a tendency to seek out affection more often when she’s sick or in pain).

Rosie, whispering excitedly: Zestial, honey, come here!

Zestial, poking his head into the room: Is something amiss, mine dearest? I- oh.

Rosie, pointing excitedly at her lap: 😃

Carmilla, who’s dozing quietly with her head resting on Rosie’s thighs: *soft sigh*

Rosie, happily petting her hair: And she’s not even injured or anything!

- Both Carmine daughters come to Rosie for romantic advice.

- Although Rosie and Carmilla were both content to communicate via messengers and letters, Zestial eventually caved and bought a cell phone for the sole purpose of communicating with his stepdaughters.

- When Odette can’t get a project to work properly, she’ll seek out Zestial and explain each step of it in detail to him (a habit she picked up from her mother). He barely understands any of what she’s saying, but most of the time talking through it out loud helps her realize her mistake. Zestial has absolutely no idea what’s going on, but he’s perfectly content to sit there and be helpful.

- Carmilla talks in her sleep when she’s anxious (usually in Spanish). Rosie (who doesn’t speak much Spanish) simply nods along and replies nonsense until she settles back down.

- Carmilla was pleasantly surprised to find that Rosie not only has the spice tolerance for her cooking but truly enjoys it (poor Zestial does not, in fact, have the spice tolerance. He tries, bless him, but Carmilla always takes pity on him.).

Carmilla (a Latina mother): Hmm. Darling, try this for me?

Rosie (a restauranteer whose best friend was raised on Cajun cooking): Hm…it’s good, sweetie, but I think you could up the game just a little bit here.

Carmilla, reaching for another chile: That’s what I thought.

Zestial (an old Englishman who died when people still thought potatoes were poisonous): *sips tea nervously*

So I’ve seen a couple posts about the DELIGHTFUL possibility of Zestial/Carmilla/Rosie and although it’s not the most realistic ship I’ve ever seen in this show…something about it just makes my brain go

So have some headcanons!

TW: Some mild implied sexual content and mentions of alcohol. It is Hazbin Hotel 🤷‍♀️

- Zestial and Rosie are both enamored with Carmilla’s hair. Rosie is constantly trying to convince her lover to wear her hair down more often, while Carmilla insists she wears it up because Rosie CANNOT resist playing with it (and really, she can’t). Zestial, on the other hand, just likes being allowed to help her brush and style it. He claims he enjoys the intimacy of the act. Rosie argues that he just ALSO enjoys playing with Carmilla’s hair.

Zestial, gently running a brush through Carmilla’s hair: Mine dearest, what, pray tell, befell thee to put thy locks in such a state?

Carmilla, leaning back in his lap with her eyes closed: Rosie.

Zestial, subtly smacking something away with the brush: Ah.

Rosie, who had been sneakily winding a piece around her finger: >:(

- Her impressively long hair is also why Carmilla has banned showering together in her home (“If you want it so badly, you can pay the water bill.”) It already takes her the better part of an hour to wash, condition, and then restyle it without any…distractions.

- Cannibal Town is significantly further away from Zestial and Carmilla’s territories than either are from each other. Rosie keeps a little box of knickknacks stashed in her vanity (handwritten letters from Zestial, a bottle of Carmilla's perfume, and various jewelry that she's stolen from them both) for when she can't make it to see her lovers for too long.

- Carmilla sleeps in the middle when they share a bed. This isn’t necessarily out of preference (in fact, she’s really not a big cuddler and would probably sleep on her own mattress at least some of the time if given the chance) but because both her partners are INCREDIBLY cold bodied and insist on being curled around her much warmer self when they sleep.

- Carmilla is also CONSTANTLY sleep deprived. It’s mostly her own fault (she takes the phrase “working yourself to death” to a whole new level), but every once in a while she suffers from a bout of actual insomnia, which leaves her miserable to be around the next day. Zestial usually gets sent in at that point to convince her to take a break (and a nap), because she’s least likely to snap at him.

- Zestial is partially nocturnal due to his somewhat spidery traits. He still enjoys staying in the same bed as his partners, but spends at least part of the night simply just watching them sleep. Carmilla took awhile to be comfortable with it (though she warmed up to it eventually) but Rosie found it sweet.

- Rosie and Zestial often bond over classic literature, like a weird little two-demon book club. They’ve tried to include Carmilla in it in the past, but she shuts it down every time (she loves them both, she does, but what little she understands she finds either dull, depressing, or both). She will, however, drop by with a cup of tea and a kiss for each before leaving them to their own devices.

- Both Carmilla’s partners have a good relationship with her daughters. However, Zestial is more like to a second parent to them, whereas Rosie is closer to a fun aunt/godmother (which gets her in trouble sometimes)

Clara: Rosie, will you take us downtown tonight?

Rosie: Hmm. What’d your mama say?

Odette: She said no.

Rosie: Then why’re ya asking me?

Clara: Because she’s not the boss of you.

Rosie: Huh. Well-

Zestial, interjecting with a pointed look at Rosie: In fact, I do believe she is. Of us both, dear one.

Rosie: …yeah, that’s probably right.

(Side note- 90% of the time, Carmilla absolutely is the boss of them both. In more ways than one 😉)

- Zestial is the only person Carmilla will let see her cry.

- Both C and Z have some chronic pains from throughout their lives/afterlives (Carmilla gets horrible migraines, while Zestial has some old wounds in his back and shoulders that never healed properly, as well as some joint pain in his wings that flares up when he sleeps on them awkwardly). When it gets too bad, the other will usually take over their work for the day so that they can go to Rosie’s and rest.

- Rosie, for her part, enjoys fussing over her partners a little too much- while Zestial sort of enjoys the attention, it can be a bit much for Carmilla when her head’s already killing her. She can’t stay too mad though, especially when being cradled in Rosie’s arms like that is so soothing and she can tell Rosie left off her usual perfume and hairspray out of consideration to her headache.

- Rosie has a pretty high alcohol tolerance and can usually function fairly well when she’s been drinking. The only exception is when she goes out with Alastor. Carmilla hates these nights because she then has to go and haul them BOTH home.
