A good idea to live by 🌻 #Repost @less_waste_willett • • • • • When I first read the term #zerowaste I thought it was an absolutely unattainable ideal. That there was no way a ‘normal’ person could possibly avoid creating waste to that extent. . I still think ‘zero’ is unattainable but I am so happy with the amount of single-use plastic that I have managed to cut from my life 🙌🏻 . These are a few of my faves: 🌟 Re-usable produce bags (game-changer!) They led me back to local grocers and farm shops and I’ve never looked back! 🌟Shower gel ➡️ soap 🧼 🌟Shampoo & conditioner to bars 🧼 🌟Taking my own Tupperware to local butchers (My meat is now packaging-free and l know it’s local) 🌟Finding local bulk-buy options for dried foods. I had no idea this even existed until I started this but turns out I have 3 in very easy reach! Get googling or talk people, you might have a little gem on your doorstep that you don’t know about 🌟 Liquid-refill shopping. Sooo satisfying being able to re-use old plastic containers and refill them! 🌟Glass bottled milk from a local milkman 🥛They’re still out there, see if you have one near you! . Creating less waste is a different journey for each of us.
