A Robot in the Orange Orchard. 7. Remake
Story: 7
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 9
Comparable to: I’m not a Robot (kdrama); Are You Human Too (kdrama) ; My Holo Love (kdrama); My Robot Boyfriend (cdrama)
This is a remake to the original kdrama I’m Not a Robot. The storylines are pretty much identical although there’s a few differences here and there. The oranges as a key subject is one. Unfortunately I do like the Korean version a tad bit more. The characters were more emotionally complex and had depth to them. The Chinese version in my opinion seemed cliche and very straightforward. That’s not to say I didn’t like it either. I liked both, just the Korean slightly better.

Yu Sheng (鱼生) or Yusang in Cantonese, meaning “raw fish” in Chinese, is a salad dish comprising thinly slicesd raw fish and various seasonings that are mixed together as diners toss the ingredients. It is a dish usually eaten during Chinese New Year. Traditionally a simple dish with few ingredients, the yusheng recipe has evolved over the decades and now comprises a wide variety of ingredients. Our second yusheng for this Lunar New Year is a small serving of Grand Fortune Abalone Yusheng (S$49.90++) from White Restaurant. In line with the coming Year of The Rabbit, this yusheng comes with an auspicious rabbit ornament.
Today, the common form of yusheng is the 七彩鱼生 (Seven-coloured Raw Fish salad) served in local restaurants during the Chinese New Year period. Also referred to as 发财鱼生 (Prosperity Raw Fish Salad) or 新年鱼生 (Chinese New Year Raw Fish Salad), this colourful take on yusheng was said to be created in the 1960s by chefs Lau Yoke Pui, Tham Yui Kai, Sin Leong and Hooi Kok Wai, together known as the “Four Heavenly Kings” in the Singapore restaurant scene.
The ritual of eating yusheng during Chinese New Year involves all the people at the table tossing the salad and uttering auspicious phrases. The dish is deemed auspicious because of the homonymic meanings behind its ingredients, which suggest blessings and good fortune for the new year: 鱼(Yu) is a homonym for “fish” and “abundance”, while 生 (Sheng) means both “raw” and “life”. Together, yusheng implies “abundance of wealth and long life”. In the Cantonese dialect, the dish is known as 捞起 (Lo Hei), where “lo” implies “tossing up good fortune” and 起 (Hei) means “to rise”, again a reference to a prosperous business and thus its popularity with businessmen during the new year celebrations. The ingredients of yusheng vary among restaurants, and one such recipe is presented below along with examples of auspicious phrases that may be uttered as each ingredient is added.
Step 1: All at the table offer auspicious greetings.
(Gong Xi Fa Cai - Wishing you wealth and good fortune) or 万事如意 (Wan Shi Ru Yi - May all your wishes be fulfilled).
Step 2: Add fish, which symbolises abundance or excess through the year.
(Nian Nian You Yu)
Step 3: Add pomelo over the fish for luck and auspicious value.
Words: 大吉大利 (Da Ji Da Li)
Then dash pepper over the ingredients for greater prosperity and fortune.
(Zhao Cai Jin Bao)
Pour oil, circling the ingredients to symbolise the multi-fold increase of profits and to encourage money to flow in from all directions.
Words: 一本万利 (Yi Ben Wan Li) and 财源广进 (Cai Yuan Guang Jin)
Step 4: Add carrots to the fish, indicating blessings of good luck.
(Hong Yun Dang Tou)
Then place shredded green radish on the fish, symbolising eternal youth.
(Qing Chun Chang Zhu)
Next, add shredded white radish for prosperity in business and promotion at work.
Words: 风生水起 (Feng Sheng Shui Qi) and 步步高升 (Bu Bu Gao Sheng)
Step 5: Add condiments. First, sprinkle peanut crumbs on the dish, symbolising a household filled with gold and silver. As an icon of longevity, peanuts also symbolise eternal youth.
(Jin Yin Man Wu)
Sesame seeds follow, symbolising growth in business.
(Sheng Yi Xing Long)
Add deep-fried flour crisps in the shape of golden pillows, with wishes that literally translate to mean that the whole floor would be filled with gold.
(Bian Di Huang Jin)
Step 6: All at the table stand up and toss the salad an auspicious seven times with loud shouts of Lo Hei (捞起) and other new year wishes.
Action: Mix ingredients by pushing them towards the centre, which is an encouragement to push on the good luck to all at the table. Some may lift clumps of the salad as high as possible to symbolise the increase in good fortune.
This Yu Sheng (鱼生) only came with five small pieces of abalones so we enhanced it with an additional can of baby abalones. When we are ready to toss, we found out that the restaurant had mistakenly given us two containers of oil instead of one oil and one yuzu sauce. Without the sauce, there is no sweetness, so sis quickly juiced a couple of Mandarin oranges to replace the forgotten sweet sauce. Overall, not a satisfying eat due to the lack of a crucial condiment.
Yu Sheng info from here.

Pemegang Saham Jetson Berhad perlu singkir Peguam ‘Scammer’ Kington manipulasi saham bersama Mafia Korporat
telah mendedahkan sebelum ini mengenai Ketua Mafia Datuk Victor Chin Boon Long (Mo Gui) bersama orang-orang kanannya seperti Chong Loong Men, Leong Seng Wui, Ng Keok Chai, Teoh Hai Hin dan Lim Kok Han merampas syarikat senarai awam di negara ini.
Green Packet, Classita dan Revenue Group kini dalam poket mereka, GIIB Holdings melalui Lim Kok Han dan Chong Loong Men sedang diusaha dirampas kini Kumpulan Jetson Berhad pula dalam sasaran.
Di GIIB Holdings geng Mafia Korporat menggunakan SPRM untuk memberi tekanan kepada Tai Boon Wee dan Lembaga pengarahnya agar melantik Lim Kok Han sebagai Pengarah Bukan Eksekutif baharu di GIIB. Namun Dato’ Sri Lim Kok Han tersilap menggunakan kekerasan mengugut Tai Booi Wee menggunakan pistol menyebabkan polis bertindak menahannya.
PEGUAM ‘SCAMMER’ KINGTON TONG KUM LOONG & CHONG LOONG MEN
Seperti dalam GIIB Holdings Berhad Peguam Mafia Korporat Chong Loong Men memainkan peranan penting menguasai syarikat itu. Siapa tidak kenal Chong Loong Men orang kanan kepercayaan Datuk Victor Chin Boon Long. Selain Victor Chin beliau terlibat dengan Mafia korporat dalam skandal Penny Stock seperti Datuk Eddie Cha Woon Chet, Datuk Jacky Phang Chow Huat dan Kenneth Vun@ Vun Yun Lun.
Dalam Kumpulan Jetson Berhad, Peguam ‘Scammer’ Kington Tong Kum Loong dari pejabat guaman Tetuan Messrs Kington Tan Dzul yang dibawa masuk oleh Dato’ Foong Chee Meng cuba menipu Datuk Teh Kian An pengasas Kumpulan Jetson dalam urus niaga jual beli saham. Harapkan pagar, pagar makan padi.
MANIPULASI SAHAM KUMPULAN JETSON
Sejak Mei sehingga 13 Jun lalu Kington Tong Kum Long dilihat banyak membeli saham Kumpulan Jetson Berhad.

They form a trio, but the day they are to leave Hong Kong, the invasion stops them. HELLO, HELLO (1997)
Faye Wong gets connected to handphone advertising
Jacky Cheung's done it. Chow Yun Fat's done it. Leon Lai, Aaron Kwok, and anybody who is anybody in the Hong Kong entertainment scene must do it.
Now, Faye Wong - who has always tried to go against anything commercial or mainstream - has jumped onto the speedboat that is taking Hong Kong celebrities to the fast-growing island of handphone-advertising.
The other reason why Faye is such a surprise is perhaps that, well, with how she has been communicating to her fans and the media, she is the last person you expect to be touting telecommunication equipment.
But the China-born singer, who became a mother less than a year ago, seems to know what she is doing.
She knows she is in trusty hands.
The man who is making the ad is - renowned alternative Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai, who directed Faye's one and only movie, Chungking Express (1995)
It is also the director's first TV commercial.
Wong is not worried that doing something with mass appeal will clash with his reputation.
"I think as long as the end product looks good, it's okay," he told Hong Kong magazine City Entertainment.
Indeed, the 30-second ad is not unlike his movies.
It will probably be the darkest and most surreal phone ad the Hong Kong TV audience has ever seen - with Faye running around in snow, playing video arcade games, etc.
On working with the star again, Wong said, "There is no big difference. (She is) still as quirky. No different from the past. The main thing is she used to be quieter. Now, she is more talkative."
Pin it down to motherhood or age, but Faye Wong, who came into showbiz with the name Shirley Wang Jing Wen, is now confident and content enough to call herself just Faye.
Even her album producer and mentor, Alvin Leong, who has known her for eight years, agreed.
"When we first met, she was 19 and didn't know many people in Hong Kong. When it came to work, it was just me and her.
"Then, she was very serious and anxious about her work. Now, it is different. As long as it's done at a comfortable pace, it's fine," Alvin told Disc Jockey Magazine.

SIDE EVENT 006.
a reminder on side-events; they are non-mandatory occasional events that your muse can choose to participate in or not.
while missing an event might mean missing out on points, be aware that choosing to take part in it could have positive or negative consequences for your muse. there is also no telling which part of the event will have consequences either since they will be tailored to make it difficult to guess what could impact your muse. while the final consequences are decided at the same time as the event is created, we will only reveal them the sunday after the deadline. so choose wisely: are you willing to make a gamble with your muse?
** the admin team would like to add a special thank you to @lgcjude / @lgcjina / @lgcwon for the event idea **

hey, all! i saw quite a few people liked my last “every trainee at legacy’s age in order of date” post, so, this time, i am making an “every trainee at legacy’s signed date” (as of april 8th)! this will be very different in the sense that, obviously, i can not order by date, so instead i have listed everyone in every ‘bunch’ by alphabetical order, starting with their last name (please note that this list does not include the npc trainees). this resource is not particularly useful in terms of making anything, but, it does give people a good idea of where your character stands in terms of experience and seniority! along with that, if you guys see anything strange or wrong please feel free to message me and let me know so i can get it changed pronto!

Entry 6
I had a meeting with Ella from the Holmesglen Skills and Jobs Centre and she was very happy with my example cover letter, resume and my selection criteria answers. I sent her my successful application for my internship with Basketball Victoria. She provided me with two suggested improvements to my cover letter and resume.
The first was to include where I found the position I’m applying for in the first paragraph of my cover letter.
The second was to be more specific in my career objectives on my resume about the role I want to be working in. This is valuable advice which I’ll take on board for future applications. Resumes are one of the most important documents to write as they can secure job opportunities, therefore I need to make sure mine is as good as possible (Ng et al., 2013). I also asked for advice on interview skills because I will likely have many interviews in the future and it’s something I’m not great at. Ella was kind enough to offer to help me with practice interviews once I get some interviews lined up which is an offer I will definitely take up.
My general career aspiration is to work in the sports media industry as a member of a media team at a sporting organisation. Ideally, I’d like this to be in my favourite sports such as AFL footy, basketball or Formula 1. I don’t want to be pigeonholed into doing one type of content creation such as only writing articles. I want to be able to write articles as well as create videos, graphics and other variations of content. It would be amazing to have a role like this as it would allow me to love my job which is my main goal.
My aim for my first year after my studies is to just gain more experience in the sports media industry. I am not in the position to be extremely picky with opportunities. If I have the chance to apply for a role -whatever it may be- that will provide me with more experience in the industry then I should go for it. As long as its sport focused and will provide me with the opportunity to develop my skills and create forms of content then I’ll be happy. Rome wasn’t built in a day and I know that my first year after studies will be a stepping stone for my years to come.
In five years I would like to be working in a state sporting organisations or for a sporting club that plays on a national level. Maybe this is a goal that I should have more towards 10 years but I think I can achieve it in five years time. I want to be in a role that I really enjoy and that I want to stay in for a while. I hope by this time I’m in a role at a high level of sport.
In 10 years time I hope I’m settled in a job that I love in a high level of professional sport.
