Cuz im bored and theres nothing to do today....
I wanted to try and ‘fix‘ Pokemon SwSh in a similar way I did with BvS and AoU.
To start this... Im ignoring the DLC and also deleting certain unnecessary characters... Sordward+Shielbert(cuz theyre garbage), and Bede(Marnies taking his place) R.I.P. You wont be missed.
The begining of the game... things kinda go as it did.
Except Sonia doing her investigation on the past of the legendaries also involves her learning some shit about whats actually happening in the present. BUT W/e we’ll get to it...
I think the first big change should be to Rose and Oleana. At first when I was thinking of keeping Rose an optimistic, well intentioned idiot... with Oleana as the shady one but it makes more sense that Oleana is the more well intentioned one. Cuz honestly I hate when media portrays scientific endeavors as bad and fighting is good actually... BUT W/E
Rose funds Oleanas research, he does genuinely want to fund her passion but the deal between them is to harness the power she found to have these ‘epic‘ Pokemon battles. Rose is in it for the money and glory and he doesnt really care where the power comes from or any repercussions might come from the usage... Oleana is more cautious.Maybe before they started this Galar was more just farm land and old, run-down cities like Spikemuth but with the use of this -Maxing gimmick the economy boomed and now theres tourism and such that allow the cities to become as well off as they are... Piers doesnt use the gimmick so his city is still stugglebus city and no one wants to go there.
Anyways!!! Rose is doing this and his brother*... Piers is actually the real issue, he doesnt use the gimmick because he doesnt like it... he just thinks its a waste of that energy. Money and fame like Rose has isnt bad (Piers is a fading star as a musician) but real POWER is what he wants. Piers is the one after Eternatus as hinted by their similar design elements... Piers hair is two colored and long with spikes... Eternatus weird hand form is similar (tho its a blue with the red)...
(*I honestly dont understand why Rose and Piers arent connected in someway considering Rose being his name, Piers having a thorny look, and Marnies name being Mary in Japanese (Rosemary), them all having black and grey(or white) hair with a fringe on right, and even light colored down turned eyes... Their colors are white/silver/grey/black and a shade of red... W/e... IM JUST SAYING.) Also Marnie and Rose have theyre left ear pierced...
*aggressive tapping*GAMEFREAK EXPLAIN!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEYRE NOT RELATED?!
*The reason I booted Bede is to put Marnie under Roses wing and give that plot line some relevance to everything else thats happening and to give Rose a reason to give a shit about your rival. Marnie starts off as cold and cocky and torments Hop but eventually starts to see the player as a friend like she does normally.
*Rose sponsors her because shes his niece or w/e (Marnie is Piers daughter I guess in this... Piers looks like an older man)
What Piers’ ultimate goal is exactly... I havent decided...
MAYBE Oleana is trying to get Rose to care about some troubling readings but hes like dont worry about it its fine... so Oleana goes to Piers, cuz maybe he’ll listen to his brother but Piers is like... ‘Oh I see...‘ but instead of helping her he uses her and goes after the power source (Eternatus), he doesnt actually involve Rose because Rose is safe with his games with Marnie.
Once she realizes this she actually teams up with another scientist Sonia whos starting to piece together some ancient doomsday warning as shes uncovering the past... she tries to talk to Rose but hes somewhere who cares but Oleana is ‘OH SHIT MY RESEARCH!!‘ and Sonias research of the past and Oleanas research to better the future come together!
And the player(with Hop and Marnie) is along for the ride trying to help Sonia and Oleana get to Rose and Rose is finally ‘oh shit im one of the idiots living on this planet... also I do love my brother, niece, and Oleana‘ and they together have to deal with Piers whos about to be hoisted by his own petard!
Something something Eternatus... Shield/Sword dog.... Save the rockstar save the world or something. Maybe Rose dies (or seems like he dies? Doesnt matter. ...I love you Rose, im sorry.) to save Marnie and that really is a turning point for Piers... cuz theyre brothers and Piers isnt just a shallow villain who doesnt care about anything. He loves his daughter and his brother.
Whether this turning point is.. ‘Oh god what have I done‘ or total meltdown- destroy the world because my beloved brother just fuckin died... depends on Piers actual goal
Just by the way... Hop and Leon* are basically doing the same. Only Hop gets spanked by Marnie instead and also while working closely with Sonia and Oleana to save the world is inspired to lean more to a researcher field instead of copying his brother and living in his shadow.
*Leon doesnt try to catch Eternatus with a Pokeball or w/e cuz thats stupid but hes there to help his brother and Sonia.
Which Leon would get a scene and be like... ‘Do you wanna really be a master trainer... because you seem like you enjoy this science shit more‘ and Hop would be like ‘I wanna be like you...‘ and Leons all ‘Then follow your passion and dreams!‘ and Hop is SHOOK.
Just to put that out there. There would also be a hug in my version.
The only thing is IDK actually know Piers’ final goal... but I think hed be a cool villains.... not that it really matters this is basically like fanfic... IM JUST SAYING.
