List of all the fandoms I’m in. LETS GOOOO
also side note, these are not in order, I do not condone favoritism in anything fandom related for me.
Ruroni Kenshin (I have unlimited amounts of respect for this anime. It was my first anime, that i watched at a young age and I fell in love with it. I never finished it, but instead went back to it years later as a teenager. As you can guess, that threw me down an anime watching spiral, and I binged the whole thing. I haven’t watched the last episode, only because I don’t want it to end. But I owe a lot to it. Also before I go-KENSANO KENSANO KENSANO KENSANO KENSANO KENSANO KENSANO

Neighbours – 31/05/18 - 7854 Episode Review
All opinions and views are my own.
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS THURSDAY’S EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS AND SPECULATIONS!
Shown on Channel 5 in the UK, Eleven in Australia
Synopsis: Yashvi takes a stand against Marisa, Leo tries to get Terese on side; David has an awkward encounter with Cassius.
Today’s episode dealt with a heavy but topical issue – racism. After finally confiding in her mother about her teammate’s racial abuse, Yashvi finds the courage to stand up to Marisa. However, it takes Dipi discussing her own incidences with racism before Yashvi speaks up. Dipi says to Shane how “It’s not only an attack on Yashvi, it’s an attack on me, Kirsha, our entire family.”
She’s right as it was difficult to watch, seeing Yashvi so affected by Marisa’s behaviour. After realising that they are in this situation together, Yashvi finally informs her football team about Marisa’s racist comments towards her. They participate in mediation, where Marisa is confronted about her actions. Marisa’s mother is surprised and apologetic but she is not, continuing to deny that she had any wrongdoing. As a result, she is kicked off of the football team.
Elsewhere, Leo is still working as a cleaner at the hotel under Terese’s mentorship. He’s getting frustrated as he feels his talents are being wasted by starting from the bottom. Fortunately, Terese informs him that she believes in his abilities but he has to learn from the ground up in order for him to fully appreciate his work. Leo also reveals to Shane that he too, has experienced racism whilst he was in high school. Dipi reminds Shane that “no matter how much you love me and her it’s not the same when you haven’t been through it”.  Although he understands that he can never empathise with his wife and daughter’s experiences, he still feels powerless wanting to protect his family. This leads him to pressuring Leo into firing Marisa, who works at the hotel. Leo is left with a difficult choice as at present, he has no grounds to sack her unless she messes up at work.
Lastly, David meets Sheila’s new attractive gardener Cassius. He finds himself drawn to him and feels guilty for ogling him. He feels even more guilty when he hears that Aaron has been getting inappropriate comments about his physique, on a promotional photo for his business. He apologises to Cassius for ‘objectifying’ him but the gardener is understanding as is Aaron.
Overall, I would give this episode a rating 5/5. The best moment would be when Yashvi makes a vlog for Pipe Up about racism. The worst, when Marisa refuses to acknowledge that she is a racist. I feel like this was a fantastic episode. It was very well written and credit should be given especially to the actresses who play Dipi (Sharon Johal) and Yashvi (Olivia Junkeer) respectively. The emotional depth really hit home for me particularly as a woman of colour myself who has had her own experiences with prejudice. I think that soaps (or continuing dramas rather) are at their best when they handle societal issues. Neighbours was careful to depict the situation Yashvi was in with care. There are so many things I could go on about that the show did well with, such as Shane identifying his own privilege but still being able to support his family regardless. I loved that the situation affected the Rebecchis’ as unit since they are a mixed-race family. The little bits with David and Cassius were interesting as they pointed out the double standard when it comes to objectification. When it’s towards women, we are quick to condemn it but shouldn’t we do likewise when it’s towards men as well? It just revealed to me how there are so many things that we as a society have accepted as the norm when really, they are not right in any respect. Well done Neighbours, of all the storylines I’ve come across on the show I have to say that the racism one was the most powerful because it was so real. Media is a great tool to use to reflect the problems within the community, as a means to make people aware and compel them to bring about change.
Until next time and thanks for reading,
 Ella M.

NEIGHBOURS – 10/10/17  - Episode 7707 Review
All opinions and views are my own.
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS TUESDAY’S EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS AND SPECULATIONS!
Shown on Channel 5 in the UK, Eleven in Australia
Synopsis: The fallout of Terese and Gary’s wedding continues. Paul introduces his family to Courtney.
Terese discovers that Paul is engaged to none other than Courtney Grixti, her former employee who is suing her. Paul’s delight that Terese is visibly upset is typical. I do wonder if Terese went to see Paul to get together with him as she mentions to Piper how “I don’t even know what’s going on in my head”. This is the classic P.R. effect. When he can’t have the woman that he wants, he makes sure that he messes with Terese’s emotions enough that she can’t be with anyone else. Shame on you Paul! She later tries to speak to Gary but he’s not interested in talking and simply walks away upon seeing her.
I loved the separate discussions between Terese/Karl and Gary/Susan. Of course, they are the perfect people to give advice in this situation. Susan tells Gary that “the scars are still there but the wounds can heal”. I reckon that Gary will forgive Terese for cheating with Paul. Her actions can’t be condoned but considering all she’s been through with her cancer battle, it’s understandable. On the other hand, Gary’s family are not willing to let things go. I laughed when Sheila thought that Terese had “hopped off with her one-legged lover”. Feisty Sheila is comedy gold. It’s lovely that Piper was supportive of Terese throughout the episode. Their relationship now is so much better than it was when Piper first arrived on the show.
Meanwhile, Paul is busy introducing his new fiancee Courtney to his family. Hilarity ensues of course. Especially with her insisting that Paul’s kids shouldn’t call her “Mum”. Jimmy sees fit to call her “G-Mum” anyway and it’s unbelievably awkward.  I’m sure that there’s more to this and was right as there’s a big reveal at the end of the episode. Turns out that Paul is the hotel’s “new investor”. It’s so awful that Terese is forced to answer to Paul after everything. I really hope that she’s able to get her life back on track and find the happiness she deserves!
Some other noticeable scenes include Elly’s envy of Paige and Mark’s chemistry. I’m sorry, I can’t feel bad for her. I do feel sympathetic that her friendship had to end because of it though. At least she still has Leo. Mark and Paige have a nice moment where he FINALLY apologises for the savage way he arrested her at their wedding. The music playing in the background after and him saying that he “loved” Paige suggests that a Park reunion is imminent. Or maybe Mark will just stay single? Who knows?
Overall, this was suitable follow-up to the wedding debacle in Monday’s episode. Terese’s wedding dress and the girls’ bridesmaids’ dresses were beautiful. Shame they went to waste. Thank goodness the Cannings finally got rid of that green couch!
Thanks for reading,
Until next time,
Ella M.

Neighbours-08/08/17- Episode 7662  Review
All opinions and views are my own.
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS TUESDAY’S EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS AND SPECULATIONS!
Shown on Channel 5 in the UK, Eleven in Australia
Synopsis: Nick Petrides’ return to Ramsey Street is anything but welcome. Steph reveals her past to Jack and Elly tries to spend more time with Mark.
A fight outside Lassiters ensues in the opening moments of this episode. Paul is furious that Nick is back, convinced he’s still the “scam artist” he was before he went to prison. After collapsing, Terese is taken away to rest. Her family are hopeful that Nick has the answer to getting Terese the right treatment, but still refuse to totally trust him.
Leo realises that Paul is way too invested in Terese’s situation and he responds by disclosing his long-standing feelings for her. However, this only makes him more determined to stop Nick. Another angry confrontation occurs between Gary and Paul. Terese is quick to come to Paul’s defense, dropping a major bombshell: he was the first one she told that she had cancer.
Jack is eager to spend time with Steph but she keeps avoiding him after her incident with Gabe. Surprisingly and at Mark’s suggestion, she decides to confide in Jack about her past. He notes how “well-adjusted” she is and it’s worth considering how far Steph has come in her battle with mental health issues. Although Steph and Jack seem like they could be a nice couple, it feels ominous that her issues are resurfacing just as their relationship blossoms.
Elly wants to get closer to Mark but he doesn’t seem that enthusiastic. She tells Paige that until he makes more of an effort, she’s going to “focus purely on school”. Paige’s envy throughout their scenes together is evident. There’ll be tears later on for sure!
Overall, great episode. I’m giving this one a 10/10. I love that the show never forgets about Steph’s mental health issues and is always faithful to depicting her struggles authentically. Glad that David is going to keep an eye on the Nick-Terese situation. He very well could be out for revenge. Can Mark and Elly just not get together, please? On the other hand, it’s great that Elly’s finally setting some boundaries for herself in terms of her relationships with men. There was a lot of medical jargon used today but it helped to give a real feel to Terese’s circumstances.
Until next time, Thanks for reading
