just reread the full length of the soul after decades and it is completely different to what i remembered yet no less gorgeous heart-rending devastation. huge compliments to the chef. i want to ask, does damen get all his memories back eventually? i know you'll think i missed the whole point which is that the past isn’t everything, it’s about building a future, it’s irrelevant whether he gets them back or not etc. but i just must know. it cracks my soul in a million pieces that damen can’t remember falling in love with laurent the first time. please put me out of my misery.

I like to think Damen DOES get his memories back though 😭😭 In the third chapter especially, he's kind of adjacent to remembering the small details, so I hope that once he's no longer agonising over it these things will make their own way back. You're right that the story as it built kind of made itself about the future -- I tried to write a little bit of a section showing Damen getting his memories back but anything I tried just felt a bit too neat for the fic. so due to Ideas i rewrote the outline for the deimos triad prologue. yes, no longer vince and verica's prologue, and yes, we skipped calling it jay and verica's prologue. bigass overhaul. still sticking to the tone of nice and fun Until It Isn't Anymore but now that we all know they end up fine later it should be fun still, right? right?

anyway, want to get all of it written and finished and nice, and once it's done, take down the old work from AO3, and then set up the new one to release one chapter a day. i think this would be fun. i'll also actually try to stick to my 2k-per-part limit from tumblr just to make it a nicer daily format. experimence.

the outline is about 700 words right now. it's leaving out a lot of detail, because those are 18 bulletpoints. if all of those manage to be a chapter on their own without spilling themselves over multiple chapters that'll be good. but god. oh god oh fuck. lmao what am i doing to myself.

parts of it are already written or outlined in more detail in other documents. the current prologue as it is up serves as a first draft and parts of it will be reused. oh this needs so many rotations. and i'm gonna take my time now that i'm not on the high of "oh shit i can do this within 24 hours let's gO" anymore lmao

about the warhammer post with the slutty elf... marazhai is great. by which i mean he's an awful person and he will make you worse. he'll actually break up with you if you try to fix him. his faction are just space drow who engage in endless horrific torture orgies because otherwise their souls will get yoinked by their god, who is a god of pleasure, pain and hedonism. you can dom or sub for him but either way a ton of blood and gore is going to be involved.

re: "i don't go here," if you *do* end up playing RT for the slutty murder elf and want to get more into it, my advice is... engage cautiously? there are a lot of cool people (and trans people) who like WH40K but there's a big crypto-fash problem in the community. WH40K started out as a satire (the joke being that the fascist imperium of man was exactly as shitty and corrupt as every other faction despite billing themselves as "the good guys") and game workshop is similar to wizards of the coast in that they're rebranding to be more diverse, putting out statements that "the game is for everyone," etc, but the problem is still there, you know?
