I lied. Put your clothes back on. We’re gonna talk about Solitaire by Alice Oseman and how Lucas only liked the idea of Tori and was convinced he was in love with her while Michael actually fell love with Tori because of who she really was.

Tori is diet lemonade. Lucas buys her sprite, which Tori says is not lemonade or diet. Sprite is fake lemonade. Michael buys Tori her favourite brand of diet lemonade. It’s real diet lemonade.

Lucas was in love with the memory of her, Michael is in love with her. Lucas’ sprite is fake and his version of her is fake, but Michaels diet lemonade is real just as his version of her is real.

thank you alice oseman for teaching me how to be platonically in love. i cannot express how many beautiful friendships i've ruined just because i had never realized that feelings so strong could still be platonic. i love being platonically in love. i love being able to admit that i'll never want a romantic relationship with someone while still being able to feel the absolute joy of unconditionally loving every part of a person. i love you alice oseman for showing me friendships that feel like falling in love so that i don't have to keep on pretending to feel something i don't.

i have the same relationship with cherry coke that Tori had with Diet lemonade, besides the fact that i dont constantly have it in my home because THEY DONT SELL PACKS MORE THAT 6 EVEN THROUGH THEY SELL 12 PACKS OF LITERALLY EVERY OTHER SODA ON THE PLANET
