I’m always up for talking about my characters because they’re the best (don’t let me fool you, they’re The Literal Worst, but they’re my garbage babies). I’ve been living with this particular character in my head for so long that sometimes it feels like I can actually converse with him. Sometimes i talk about him like he’s real...sorry not sorry.

Jet (middle name redacted) Parker is from my Sing This Love WIP. His middle name is part of the plot, so I can’t reveal that yet and his last name might be changing in my rewrite of the book. ANYWAY, he’s the love interest of my narrator. He’s the lead singer of a rock band that my narrator is following on tour.

1. create awesome music with his friends and tour the world. 2. the acceptance of his parents. (although he’d never admit this one)

what actor would could you envision playing your character in a movie? 

Jet is based off of several real rock stars: Remington Leith, Andy Biersack, Harry Styles, and Brendon Urie. I have no idea what actor would play him. I think Robert Sheehan would play him well, though.

What is their theme song?

um, not really. He works out on occasion but his physique is mostly achieved through genetics. In my head, Jet asks: Is karaoke a sport?

What is their spirit animal?

He keeps screaming about otters right now and how cute they are holding hands. I think he’s drunk and needs to go home.

How about their Hogwarts house?

Slytherin to his core in the most Fanon Draco way possible. 

What is their greatest character flaw? How does it affect their journey?

Jet’s TERRIBLE at confrontation and dealing with interpersonal conflict. His immediate reaction to arguing is to run away. This for sure affects his journey to finding love and through the course of the book he’ll have to learn how to communicate better and accept the love he deserves. 

What scene with them are you looking forward to writing the most?

Jet wants to talk about concert scenes (but like, bro, there’s already four detailed ones, calm down). 

Have they undergone any emotional trauma? How does it affect them/their choices?

Jet has attention seeking habits that stem from being ignored as a child. His relationship with his parents is not unlike Lorelai Gilmore’s with her parents. 

he also has some unresolved issues from being bullied in high school since he was openly Pansexual. 

Do they use magic? What type is it and why is this the magic you chose for them?

No, but he sure wishes. (although if you asked my narrator, she’d say that his hands were magic)
