book blair!!! please say more. i am soft

book!blair is the absolute love of my life !!!! i could talk about her until the end of time; while i enjoyed the cw version of gossip girl, that blair ended up deviating from who blair cornelia waldorf was so much that in my head they are just. two different entities. when i make my characters ( specifically zelda monroe, as well as ‘retired’ muses geneiveve marin and eleanor hawthorne and to a degree, aylin kaplin ) ‘blair’, i focus more on the blair from the books than i do the blair from the television show.  i know there were restrictions on what you could portray on the cw in the early 00′s, i GUESS, but she was so important to me, personally, growing up. she is responsible for my kate spade addiction, my constant attempts to be the ‘cold hearted brunette ( who’s secretly a softy )’, and really was the main reason i wanted to start going to nyc when i was younger in the first place.  she was complicated, damaged, terrible, manipulative, manipulated, scared, strong - just. everything. the closest thing i get to have her in is my what is you is me verse with @mctionsick who also listens to me liveblog the books when i am rereading them ( i paused in the middle of the...fifth one again i think ) and cries about the relationships she had with both nate AND serena ( they were all supposed to end up together !! thanks for coming to my ted talk !! )  she is my idol, my inspiration, my everything and that’s probably not Great as a full grown adult now but she has been my #1 for almost twenty years now ( rip ) and that is just never going to change. if you want to talk to me abt book!blair at ANY point you absolutely can IM me here or on my personal - @rachelblairy - because i do regularly have breakdowns about her there as well :)
