Alternatively, if Tumblr just disappears, it might save me from the last connections I have to social media. Cause all these places fucking suck, and it's not necessarily the sites, its the people.

Why do you love being oppressed so much? Why would you deny the obvious when its such a fucking duh-doy thing to realize the "pandemic" is the perfect culmination of the 24 hour news cycle's thirst for catastrophe, negative reaction driven social media traffic, the fascist police state, the growing social divide over "unforgivable" offenses that used to be talked out and rectified, and the eagerness to erase the past and move everything to the easy convenient and cheap online space for better targeted control by corporations to make the most profit possible? You believe all that stuff don't you? Oh but you're fucking braindeadened by being young and online. You don't remember because you were too busy needing a $100s phone to notice the dime booths disappearing and shopping at chains to see the local stores who cared about their customers get bought out. The cars getting more and more isolated in the name of safety only to have the same effects as football helmets going from leather to impact plastic. Now its "safe" to drive like a fucking maniac because oh good the airbags will protect you. The helmets didn't protect Damar Hamlin from one of those maniac tackles, like the fucking airbags won't protect pedestrians. If you can't feel the risk you can't safely operate a car. End of fucking story. But you probably have no idea why that's relevant because you just want them to go away, huh? Car dumb and useless? Football boring? Newsflash idiot, that's the shit i'm talking about in your brain. You got a little hitler telling you to ignore anything that challenges the way you're instructed to see the world. And you're instructed to see any opinion outside of the status quoe as bad. Anything you don't understand is a dogwhistle. I saw someone trying to divert attention away rigged capitalism's main examples of elon musk and jeff bezos by saying "believing in a small group of elites running the world is inherently anti-semetic" like wtf you know how money works buying power and protection and you're gonna sit there and tell me this fucking white ass bald guy with more money than god and this heir to an empire of blood emeralds are comparable to the victims of the holocaust? You are blind, completely fucking blind.
lmao i'd ask what the fuck youre even going on about but youve blocked me already. i legit cant tell what youre trying to say. your points are completely unintelligible

character development : accepting : @moonlit-myth
16. Do they dream? What are those dreams like?Dreaming is kind of necessary, so yes, he dreams. He has those strange stress dreams, a twist on the being naked in front of the whole class ones. He has nightmares. Night terrors, where he wakes up in a cold sweat, because if you donā€™t think heā€™s toting some baggage from the curse and his death, youā€™re wrong. He has plotted dreams occasionally that fade once heā€™s awake and he can never regrab all of the details. He has dreams that make no sense and are just memory dumps to be ready for the next day. Iā€™d say heā€™s a vivid dreamer, but rarely remembers them after waking.23. How do they respond to difficult social moments? What makes them consider a social situation difficult?Honestly, look at how he operates. When heā€™s in those uncomfortable situations like that he uses what he has; heā€™s good with words, heā€™s persuasive, charasmatic, and charming. Couple that with a high Intimidating Presence perk and itā€™s pretty potent for being able to talk through most things. Imagine Sao Fengā€™s bathhouse. Imagine the con he runs on Sao Feng after Will mutinies Hector and Jack. How smooth he is with that. Those are both those difficult social situations for him (mostly, because, you know thereā€™s a risk to life and limb in them) and how he works his way out of it.
24. How do they present themselves socially? What distinguishes their ā€œpersonaā€ from their ā€œtrue selfā€, and what causes that difference?Okay, now I know Iā€™ve beaten this drum a hundred times before, but Iā€™m going to keep right on with my rhythm here because itā€™s important. Itā€™s important, because you can tell a lot about how Hector feels about a person, and a situation, in how he responds. So we all know Hector seems to have two settings, and those are Careless Whisper From Another Room and Turned Up To Eleven. In reality there are multiple shades in between but those two are the ones people seem to pick up on the most. So. Guess which one Hector uses when heā€™s running a con of some sort. Thatā€™s right. Up to 11. The stone-cold bitchface with the soft voice is legit Hector Barbossa, who occasionally is more fluid with his expressions, but if theyā€™re exaggerated? And his accent is exaggerated? And he starts throwing out long, multi-syllable words with grand hand gestures? Heā€™s playing whoever itā€™s directed at as a fool. Hector, otherwise, isnā€™t big on overly obvious body language or even being very loud. So itā€™s volume, exaggeration of facial expressions, and how he uses body language that can tell you everything you need to know about how he feels on a situation or a person.25. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?Hector is so funny about other people, honestly. He charms others easily but he doesnā€™t trust a damn one, nearly. Once upon a time he had real friendships that didnā€™t mean stabbing the other person in the back for a leg up, but those days are long gone. Heā€™s mistrustful, and someone has to practically bleed for him before heā€™ll believe theyā€™re being truthful. So really what he needs and wants are people that he considers useful and trustworthy enough he doesnā€™t have to hold a gun to their head, metaphorically, to get them to do what he wants. But really, yo really. What he actually needs is relationships with people he knows he can trust, without having to wonder about it. People he knows he can count on in a pinch and that can carry him when he canā€™t carry himself. Will he get those? Probably not, his suspicion gets in the way entirely too much. The closest he has, really, to that is @changing-roads, because Elle understands how to approach someone like him, whoā€™s really rather wounded on the trust front. She put her neck in his teeth and trusted him not to rip her throat out, and he hasnā€™t. And would you look at that, heā€™s learning how to love and accept love in return, with nothing in it for either of them but a solid support to lean on. It only tookā€¦What. Five hundred years.(Seriously, though, ask me about my Hector and Elle feelings because I have so many.)26. How do they view and feel about relationships, and how might this manifest in how they handle them, if it does?Okay, Iā€™ve been general with the other one, and kind of vague, because Hector is really terrible at building healthy relationships with people, or they all started off toxically before they started toward normalizing. Here, letā€™s talk romance. /waggles eyebrowsSo, let me be upfront and clear when I say, in actuality? Hectorā€™s not looking for a relationship. Heā€™s free as a bird to do as he pleases, and itā€™s not something he really puts a whole lot of thought into. Which doesnā€™t mean heā€™s not catchable, he very much is, only that heā€™s not going out of his way to find it.Given that, hereā€™s some things that will definitely catch his eye, with some detail on it. For one, strong women. Now, when I mean strong women, I donā€™t mean the stereotype of sassy woman who doesnā€™t need anybody. Or stone cold badass who skewers men for reasons. What I mean by strong women is well-rounded women. No one too naive, heā€™s looking for a companion and a partner, not a child to raise. But someone whoā€™s still got curiosity about the world. Someone whoā€™s intelligent and with that curiosity looks to find out more. Hector is self-educated, but heā€™s well-read and knowledgeable. Heā€™s highly intelligent. Soft and pretty is fine and dandy, but if thereā€™s nothing of a spine or character to shore that up, heā€™s going to get bored very quickly. Interesting women are more than likely to catch his attention, more than just pretty ones. Like I said, pretty is well and good, but if you can catch his attention and win his mind, his heartā€™s going to trot along right behind it. Engage his personality, his wit, and his intelligence, and hold it, and heā€™s yours.Things, however, that heā€™ll get sick of, though, kind of tend to go hand in hand with a lot of the above. For one, heā€™s a grown man. Heā€™s lived fine on his own for years, and heā€™s not looking to be nagged or coddled or babied or forced. Pushing back against him now and again is good, but too much and itā€™s just not worth the effort to him. Constant fights will eventually wear on him, because thatā€™s his daily life. He doesnā€™t need that much added stress. Will he have arguments with a lady of his? Oh, you betcha. Probably spectacular fucking rows that end up legends. Because if heā€™s bored heā€™ll pick a fight because 1. itā€™s fun, and 2. the makeupā€™s the best part, isnā€™t it? But if itā€™s constant, and mean tempered, and every time he walks through the door, heā€™s going to stop walking through the door. Thereā€™s a balance to find there. If heā€™s giving his free time to you, and heā€™s coming back to you when the work is done and he can have time to breathe, heā€™s not looking for more constant stress. Let him think heā€™s won you, even if itā€™s the other way around. Let him share things in his own time, in his own way. Heā€™s mistrustful, suspicious, can be jealous and possessive, and it takes time for him to figure out what to do with all of that. He will, eventually. Patience is just key to dealing with him. And thatā€™s what heā€™s looking for. All of the above, because itā€™s going to take that to rope him in good and tight. Heā€™s a complicated man with a lot going on. Heā€™s going to want a woman that has more layers than two-ply to compliment him.And most importantly, he doesnā€™t need changing, completing, or fixing. Anyone that tries would find him gone. Heā€™s a whole person, with defined ideas and beliefs and heā€™s solid and secure in himself, and pretty set in his ways. You get him as is, or you donā€™t get him at all.29. What kind of activities, interests, and hobbies do they have? What significance and impact do these have in their lives, both positive and negative?Piracy has literally been nearly his whole life, since he was around 15 or so. Which isnā€™t to say he doesnā€™t have hobbies. He loves to read, and has read a wide variety of books on a wide variety of subjects, that range from science to fiction to history, to mythology. He has, according to some sources of dubious authenticity (/looks pointedly at Disney Shanghai) beautiful penmanship. According to the first script for CotBP heā€™s well versed in both Spanish and Aztec history. Enough that he can tell full stories mostly forgotten. (Remind me to share that bit at some point.) Heā€™s an animal lover who takes very good care of his pets and actually sees them as family, not possessions. He has several interests, really. And theyā€™re all just pieces of the puzzle that is Hector Barbossa. Heā€™s not one thing or the other, just like other people arenā€™t one thing or the other. Pets die, and he grieves them. Books get finished and he moves on to the next one.30. What is their preferred level of activity and stimulation? How do they cope if they get either too little or too much?Hector is a man that doesnā€™t handle being idle very well. Speaking from prior experience of having him in games where threre are quick spurts of intense action and then weeks of nothing day after day, he does not do well. He gets snappish, backbites, will turn on anyone that looks at him funny, and is just all around a pain in the ass to have to deal with. He needs frequent stimulation, kind of like a big dog with a lot of energy lmao. Frequent walks and all of that. But in seriousness, heā€™s used to a fairly high paced lifestyle. Sailing, not so much, really, especially in his position, thereā€™s a lot of day to day hum drum, but heā€™s able to keep fairly busy. Take that away from him and heā€™ll get restless and cranky and will start fights just to start them because heā€™s restless and cranky and needs something to do. Itā€™s not a pretty thing.31. Is there anything that counts as a ā€œdealbreakerā€ for them, positively or negatively? What makes things go smoothly, and what spoils an activity or ruins their day? Why?Really, the biggest dealbreakers he has are betrayal and lying to him. Which is so funny because he literally lies so much (through omission) that he breathes crooked. He hesitates even when he wants to tell the truth. But those two things, which are things heā€™s experienced to such disasterous results for a good chunk of his life, will absolutely be the end of any friendly feelings he might have toward a person, a thing, or an idea. Itā€™s exceptionally hypocritcal of him, but themā€™s the breaks. Heā€™s gotten fucked over too many times in too many ways to simply forgive and forget that shit with everyone. You break his trust? Heā€™s done.

my hopes and dreams are crush. ruined. i will never be whole. (lol) if the author took it down for personal reasons theres nothing to be done then, but do you think you can give a summary of the plot? the idea sounded really interesting and i really want to know how it went down.
Sure anon! Sorry about the wait for this, Iā€™ve been so busy lmao.
Iā€™m going too have to go off what I remember, I read this fic back in 2015 in about August or September, so a few of the smaller details are kinda fuzzy, but overall I remember the main plot so I can tell you that! The fic is puzzle/blind, because it has Yami/Yugi and Yugi/Atem, with Yami and Atem being two different people in this fic, but its not mobium at all, cause thereā€™s no monarch.
Going under a cut because it ends up kinda long! Hit the Keep Reading if you wanna know about the plot of Gambit!
Gambit follows the events of two warring nations, a republic I believe and an empire. Yami is the minster of defence for the empire and Yugi is one of the top soldiers there who pilots a mecha. Yugi is a little unhinged in his approach to things, and the first part of the story you see Yami and Yugi bickering a lot with Yami trying to get Yugi to go on missions for the empire. Their banter and dialogue is some of the best Iā€™ve ever read.
On the other side of the war is Atem, who is the shining star of the army, just an all round great guy. He ends up fighting Yugi in a mecha battle, and it ends in a draw with them both getting blasted and leaving no real victor. Yugi is super pissed about this, and demands to go back to fight Atem. Yami says no initially, and it ends up with this incredibly well written dirty sex scene with them doing it on Yamiā€™s desk. Fascinating stuff, and honestly it was so good ngl, one of the best ahaha.
Meanwhile the emperor, who is Gozaburo, is an asshole who rocks up to torment Yami with details about the war. He tries to get Yami to sign this form that will take him off something that means he wont have a right to the throne anymore (Yami being Gozaburoā€™s nephew I believe? Theyā€™re related somehow anyways). Yami kinda doesnt want to do this, but Gozaburo leaves him not much choice, and heā€™s just delaying it a lil. Also during this time Yami and Yugi keep going at it in this really incredible sex buddies relationship, to take out all their pent up anger in and honestly its all written SO freakin well.
Yugi also does go back to fight with Atem, but he ends up in a big rainstorm, and discovers he took shelter in a cave with Atem without realising it, although they both work out who each other is, with Yugi knowing immediately but giving a truce for the sake of shelter, and Atem realising after Yugi tells him. Atem gets a little preachy, heā€™s a sweetie, asking Yugi why heā€™s doing all this and what not, trying to get answers as he becomes curious about Yugiā€™s life.
This person called Heba shows up, looking suspiciously a lot like Yugi but not being Yugi, and Heba is kind of hard to explain, but Yami is the only one who ever sees him, or seems to know about him. Heba warns Yami about Gozaburo trying to off him. Some stuff happens, and Heba actually ends up killing Gozaburo through radiation suffocation I believe? He pretty much just offs him quickly.
Cue Yami taking over the empire and becoming emperor. Thereā€™s a temporary truce between them while the rebels hope that the new emperor will agree to a treaty/end the war etc etc. And sometime around here is when everything starts to go to SHIT. For the first time lmao.
Yugi sneaks into the base where Atem is in the rebel stronghold and gets captured. Yami mentions how the war will continue, and the rebels keep Yugi imprisoned for now. I think they planned to execute him if Iā€™m not mistaken. Except Atem gets a little too soft with him and Yugi ends up being able to escape. Poor gullible Atem I love him.
Yugi returns home, andĀ Yami and Yugi still get it on, albiet they end up being a little nicer to each other, and Yami does some stuff to tug at the heartstrings ngl. There r some real cute moments in amongst the angst and mannnnn I love these two.Ā
Yami kinda starts getting a lot more paranoid about everything, and he gets awful mood swings, sometimes Yugi getting caught in them.
Yugi sneaks into this section of the base thats normally off limits because ppl r going missing and ā€˜who the fuck is Heba and why does Yami talk about himā€™ but also Yamiā€™s terrible mood swings courtesy of Heba have Yugi worried about him.
Itā€™s kinda revealed Heba is like the conscious of this old machine thingy, for lack of better wording bear with me, and he sees humans as like insects p much. So he wants to crush them all lmao. Heā€™s been building this massive mecha to wreck everything and boy howdy does he plan to wreck everything.
Yugi confronts Heba, finds out all this shit and manages to escape, where he heads to the rebel country to Atem. He tells Atem all about this, and they get word Heba is on his way with the giant mech.
What happened back at the empire after Yugi ran away was Yami was majorly struggling with everything and he had a confrontation with Heba, who revealed to Yami all the stuff about him wanting to destroy all humans. Thereā€™s nothing Yami can do though, because Heba tells him heā€™s been slowly poisoning Yami with radiation all this time, and its the only reason Yami could see andĀ ā€˜feelā€™ Heba so much. Iā€™m pretty sure they were just a series of hallucinations. Heba effectively wipes Yamiā€™s control, and uses his lifeless body to help pilot the mecha.Ā
Atem and Yugi meanwhile have their own ancient mech I think Yugi stole it from Heba when he escaped I dont 100% remember where their mech came from BUT THEY GOT IT. ItĀ requires two ppl to operate and they use it to fight against Hebaā€™s giant mech. During the battle Yami manages to fight back with the last piece of his consciousness to get control of his body back enough to send a video transmission through, and he tells Yugi to blow the thing up, with him along with it.
AND ITā€™S JUST RLY SAD because Yugi knows he has to do it but then Yami will legit be gone for good, and Yami just smiles at him and I die fam I really do.Ā
They mouth an ā€˜I love youā€™ to each other before Yugi and Atem pull the trigger, and Hebaā€™s mech along with him and Yami are blown sky high.
And then they win, and the war is over woo and my eyes are damp from all the tears I shed. Also without having Yami still alive to preach otherwise, his name was recorded as just another tyrant emperor, and the rebels got the credit for ending the war.Ā
It gets revealed around the end that Yugi and Atem are from an ancient race that was destroyed by Heba thousands of years ago, but Atem and Yugi were send away in pods to keep them safe. Gozaburo found Yugiā€™s pod and trained Yugi up to be a weapon in the war with crazy good pilot skills, while Atem was found by some nice farmers in the country and grew up being a nice kid.Ā
The story ends with this kind of weird thing were Yugi and Atem settle down for a while and Yugi ends up having a kid, which he calls Yami (that part killed me), it ends on a really nice bittersweet tone, which is nice, and I liked the way it ended, although Iā€™m personally not a fan of mpreg, so that was kinda weird for me, but each to their own! Plus itā€™s the one minor thing in the story that I didnt agree with, and itā€™s easily shadowed over by how brilliant the entire story was to read, a real ride from start to finish, and gooooooood I just LOVE this fic sobs.
I probably missed a few things, or maybe screwed up the timeline a little, and purposely left out some smaller details if only for the fact Iā€™m so busy I dont have time to give a play-by-play of a 200K fic xD But there you have it! Hopefully this paints part of the magnificence that was the wonderful fic Gambit! My absolute favourite fanfic ever :ā€™ā€™ā€™>
