Also since you like BG3 have you ever heard of Dragon age or Legacy of Kain. I think they,d be right up your street
Oh my gosh, I was obsessed with both of those back in the day!! The Soul Reaver games were incresible. I loved Raziel so darn much. His design was beautidul and the play mechanics so much fun! But...Legend of Dragoon...the impact that game had on me. It was one of the first fandoms I wrote fic for, and it introduced me to my first writers group online. I was such a Lloyd fan, and Rose too :) I even cosplayed her! I'm still friends with some of the creators I met through the LoD fandom 💜💜💜 What beautiful memories you've dredged up ✨️✨️✨️

Oh screw you Jackal! Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider costume is a million times more badass and awesome than your absolutely hideous 90s redesign! Seriously, the Jackal during The Clone Saga looks like a green version of the Joker but with troll-doll hair whilst wearing an outfit stolen from The Matrix movies (although weirdly these comics were released 4-years before the first Matrix movies debuted in cinemas… weird…)
Also, the joke’s on you Jackal! I myself own two Marvel Legends Scarlet Spider action figures (one of Ben & one of Kaine), and they both look FREAKING amazing!
The Scarlet Spider costume does too have merchandising potential! Suck it ya smug grinning green jackass!
From Spectacular Spider Spider-Man (1976) #222 by Tom DeFalco, Sal Buscema & Bill Sienkiewicz.

Lick It Good - reflected on AO3 18+ only fic! Kain (Legacy of Kain) x Ganondorf (Legend of Zelda). Green old men doing things. Trans male Ganondorf. Summary: Kain rims Ganondorf through his underwear.
Ganondorf's genitals are referred to as: Cunt, cock, t-dick. He/him pronouns for both.
Kain growled with impatience. “Will you sit still already?”
Ganondorf promptly ignored him to readjusted his pillows for the umpteenth time. Finally, he settled down in his preferred position. “There. Start.”
Kain raised an eyebrow. “Awfully demanding, are we?”
Ganondorf teasingly wiggled his hips in response. The thin, tight cotton underwear gave Kain a delicious outline of the prize he really wanted- Ganondorf’s fat cunt. He could see the cock head pulsing against the fabric. But Ganondorf wanted something else and Kain was happy to oblige.
“Just sit still.” Kain grumbled. He leaned his head forward and tentatively licked the outline of Ganondorf’s asshole.
Ganondorf chuckled. “It won’t bite.”
“But I will.” Kain said, the threat only a ruse. He properly licked the fabric this time. He pressed his tongue against the ring of muscles and rubbed the appendage back and forth. He repeated the motions for a few seconds, relishing in Ganondorf’s moan of pleasure. “You’re good at this.” Ganondorf said, his voice a happy grumble. “Keep going.”
Kain bit back the urge to snark again. He pressed more insistently, rubbing his tongue against Ganondorf’s hole through the cotton. Soon his saliva wet Ganondorf’s underwear enough for him to give a harsh suckle.
Ganondorf let out a string of swears in his native language, a beautiful sound for the vampire-emperor. He made the motion again and again before returning to his harsh licks.
“Fuck yeah!” Ganondorf groaned out. His thighs quaked with the effort to keep himself up, and his head was completely bowed into the pillows.
Kain triumphed as he saw Ganondorf’s almost submissive form. He let out a growl to match Ganondorf’s. “I want to make you cum.”
Ganondorf groaned. “Rub my dick through the underwear while you lick it.”
Kain grumbled in approval and followed the Gerudo’s instructions. He licked the soaked fabric while using the pad of his finger- careful of his claws- to rub Ganondorf’s t-dick. He delighted in Ganondorf’s moans and quivers. “Cum for me, Demon-King.”
A few muscle-tensing moments later, and Ganondorf came undone. His entire body shuddered, both holes pulsed, and he let out the most delicious keen that Kain had heard from him so far.
“Atta boy.” Kain said. He swiped a claw through the underwear to toss them aside.
Ganondorf chuffed in disapproval. “Don’t patronize me, vampire.”
“I just made you cum and you’re being rude to me. You wound me.” Kain put a hand to his chest in mock offense while the Gerudo let out a sarcastic laugh.

"The descent had destroyed me... and yet, I lived."
Normally, I wouldn't do anything to commemorate anniversaries or w/e, but this one... this one is extraordinarily special and holds a significant personal meaning.
25 years ago today, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver dropped! jfc 25 years, it's really been that long, holy shit.
Don't like saying this phrase because it's hella cringe, but this was one of the very few games that changed my life. It came during a time filled with a lot of, uh, not great things going on and while I didn't fully appreciate it then (because young 13 year old teenager with hormones), Soul Reaver and the broader thematic elements of the LoK series resonate even more as a 37 year old adult who has struggled with a great many things in the years since.
Yeah, the gameplay hasn't aged well in parts (there's a certain narm-ish charm to the asinine box puzzles EXCEPT IN THE STUPID CATHEDRAL), but Soul Reaver is the game that made me see video games could be a legitimate art form: not Final Fantasy 7, not Metal Gear Solid, not even Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Is it perfect? Nah, there's a lot that could've been done differently, but for all its flaws, it's still my #1 favorite game of all time.
Ironically, Raziel isn't my favorite character in the series -that would be Mortanius, actually, followed by Kain and then Raziel- but he has such an iconic, unique design that none have quite come close to since, and that's saying something as someone who draws a ton of Warframe material.
If you haven't played Soul Reaver or its sequels (SR2 and Defiance), highly recommended if only for the writing and the voice acting. Until the Remasters finally drop (you can try memory holing them as much as you'd like, Dark Horse, y'all let the cat out of the bag lmao), though, there's always watching longplays or cinematics on YouTube ig. *shrug*
Vae victis!

Hbomb said that Simon being an immortal dragon doesn't make much sense, even in Russian. But it may not be true.
You see, in slavic folklore there's a specific version of a dragon that is called Змей Горыныч, which roughly translates as the Mountain Snake. In Russian "Горыныч" is a cool and menacing word because of similarity between two words гора (mountain) and горе (woe, hardship). Горыныч sounds simultaneously as if this Snake is from mountains and also it will bring woe and destruction.
So, snakes are symbolically important to the Bachelor, I don't know if you noticed. Snakes symbolize immortality and also medicine in general. Kains also symbolize medicine, their last name is meant to invoke the naming of drugs like novocaine (which is written a bit differently in English but is exactly the same in Russian новокаин - Каин).
Also. Notably the Mountain Snake has three heads, who all have independent consciousnesses and different personalities. There are three Kain brothers. But also. They live in the Crucible, which has three buildings. And Crucible is a good and accurate transition of what their mansion called in Russian, they're utopians, they melt humans and forge them into superhumans, cool. But in Russian the Crucible is Горны. Do you see it? It's the same word again. It all fits together.
Admittedly, I'm not a slavic folklore scholar. I'm just a regular Russian who exists within this cultural context. So maybe if you actually familiar with all the legends and fairytales about the Mountain Snake the layers of meaning here go much deeper. Or maybe not. Or maybe it's all just a coincidence. Probably.
If the developers ever commented on this issue let me know.

And so ended my journey with this series of games. I'm officially taking a vacation with Legacy of Kain drawings. And what can I say, having walked this path with you? "The coin is still turning" , "time fade even legend"? I look at old Kain and say, put on a fucking helmet before you go on a trip. No, seriously take care, use a condom, insure your life, and so on. Don't be like Kain, don't skimp on yourself..

I think it's not a coincidence that I like FF9 almost as much as FF4. I found a page on the final fantasy wiki with all the allusions in FF9, and the nods to FF4 are many : the medieval fairytale fantasy atmosphere, the airships and their designs, Alexander's design looking like Amano's design for the giant of Babil, a lot of easter eggs (Doga's mirror with Zemus' words that the body may perish but the spirit lives on, one of the best Freyja's weapons being Kain lance -I have to make sure I can have it next time I play it, …)
Personally I can't wait to have more informations about FFIX's remake (or remaster ?) the rumors talk about and the Echo S 9 fan dub mod project by Tsunamods. There's already an amazing demo about Echo S 9 (Steiner ! Vivi !! <3 ) and watching it reminded me of the parallels between Cecil and Zidane, and the scenario in general, the very similar relationship to the enemy brother, the importance of the moon and the axis connecting the worlds (the Ifia tree and the Tower of Babil, both referring to the Yggdrasil of Nordic legends), …
But in reality, from a character point of view, Cecil and Zidane are quite opposite at the beginning. Zidane is optimistic, spontaneous, adventurous, naturally rebellious. They both arrive on an airship in the opening sequence, but in reality, Cecil is more like Garnet concerning his situation. The game begins in both cases by showing them mulling over nightmares in their rooms. They have a relationship a bit similar to their royal parent, with all the dilemmas implied. In both cases, this parent first denied their identity for the sake of protection, then became an ugly big blue greedy evil ogre to the point of using them only as a tool, and their relationship explodes in the child's face … in the form of a (or several) bombo!
In fact, the character developpement is not exactly the same, Garnet is more sensitive and hesitant, still hoping to repair his relationship with Queen Brahne, when Cecil gave up (actually the king is already dead) and is more rushing to the end of his journey. But they have similar struggles to sort out their conflicting feelings, the guilt of not living up to the great person they would like to be, that people expect them to be, and keep these thoughts to themselves, with Cecil being used to "…" and Garnet having a period of mutism herself. And both have a physical transformation visible in their images in the menu, from closed expressions to more open and bright faces once they have discovered more about themselves and integrated a new, life-saving identity that help them to move forward.
I'm happy to find all these common points, but also finding the differences since I like the two characters, and I would not be surprised to find more thinking about it and replaying the games.

Sup gamer
Saw ur bio, tell me about ur interests NOW
Oh god fuck I wasn't prepared for this
Pathologic 2 takes place in a small town on the steppe only referred to as the Town on the Gorkhon River, or simply "the town." The culture of the town is a fusion of 20th century technology and architecture with ancient steppe culture and traditions, which bring about customs that greatly affect the course of events in the town. Though the exact location and date are never mentioned, it is very heavily implied by character dialogue and environment clues that the game is set during the Russian Civil War.[6][7]
The world of Pathologic 2 leans heavily into the surreal, meta-commentary and symbolism, frequently making discerning what is fiction and what is "reality" difficult. The events in the town are framed as a play in the style of Bertolt Brecht's "epic theatre," where the player is an "actor" "playing the part" of the player character. The player's "reality" often comes into contact with this framing, with theater-like elements such as spotlights, "scene changes" between day and night and a disembodied stagehand-like voice appearing intermittently throughout the game. At certain points, such as during plays performed in the town's theater or after the player's death, the player encounters the mysterious and supernatural theater director Mark Immortell, who is often critical of the player's "acting" and frequently breaks the fourth wall, referring to the game's development, referencing the mechanics and inner workings of the game's systems and referencing events or aspects from the original Pathologic, both contextually and literally.[8]
The protagonist of the game is a surgeon named Artemy Burakh, also known as the Haruspex. The game begins at the end of a previous, seemingly failed run, on 'day 12' of the first Pathologic. The town is nearly empty, filled with bodies and the sounds of screaming. Artemy speaks to various characters and makes his way to the Cathedral, where he is able to speak to the mysterious theatre manager, Mark Immortell, and requests a 'second attempt'. This is granted, and time resets to the prologue of Artemy on a train, travelling to the Town. The player controls Artemy through a series of strange dreams and visions. Through dialogue with a character known as the 'Fellow Traveller', it is revealed that Artemy was born and raised in the town but has not been back in many years. His father, Isidor Burakh, is the local physician and a leading member of the Kin, the native inhabitants of the steppe. He sent Artemy to the capital as a teenager to gain an education in medicine, but has now requested that he return, stating that 'great difficulties' are coming.
Upon arriving in the town, Artemy is greeted by three locals who try to kill him. In a cutscene, he kills the attackers. Nearby strangers in plague doctor suits tell him that the locals suspect him of killing an important resident of the town and that the attack on him was an act of revenge. It is soon revealed that, in fact, two people have seemingly been murdered. The first is Simon Kain, a prominent leader of the town who had previously been assumed to be immortal; the second is Isidor.
Artemy is suspected of patricide and attacked by many of the townspeople, who have been driven to unusual violence. Young women are targeted in particular due to old steppe legends of a 'Shabnak-adyr', a creature with clay legs who brings death. A local gang of children known as the 'Soul-And-A-Halves' request Artemy's assistance with finding a boy who poisoned their dogs, while an old friend of his known as Bad Grief requests assistance with an injured local man. The leader of the town's economy and industry, a powerful man known as 'Fat Vlad', vouches for Artemy, and his innocence is restored.
At his father's funeral, Artemy discovers that his father died of a strange stab wound. He is urged to accept his father's legacy as a menkhu, a special caste of Kin folk with the right to cut open bodies. In doing so, he is given a list containing the names of seven local children, plus a strange steppe sigil that he is told means 'udurgh'. He learns that these are the children his father felt would be most important in 'rebuilding the town', and must be kept safe at all costs. Signs of an outbreak appear in the village, including a strange rot on the sides of buildings and a black cloud in his father's old bedroom. A plague known as 'Sand Pest' strikes the town, killing people within a day of infection and leaving the districts abandoned and rife with looters.
Artemy is required to perform daily tasks at the hospital in exchange for food and money, as food prices rise rapidly once the outbreak hits. It is revealed that the Sand Pest has hit the town once before, and Isidor managed to curb the outbreak by boarding up the infected district and leaving all those within to die. He encounters a young Herb Bride - a caste of Kin women who dance barefoot to encourage the growth of sacred herbs such as twyre - who seems to know him, and eventually tells him he is destined to kill her. Artemy is able to use his father's old equipment to create tinctures that increase immunity, and later use organs or blood to produce antibiotics and painkillers. He collects sacred blood from a crack in the ground in an ancient steppe village, and finds that this produces a panacea that cures Sand Pest; however, there is only enough blood for two doses.
An Inquisitor, Aglaya Lilich, arrives in the city. She has been sent to save the town at any cost, and Artemy is warned by others that Inquisitors are inherently manipulative and dangerous. He continues to search for larger amounts of sacred blood, eventually learning that the only way to get enough to stop the plague is to destroy a tower known as the Polyhedron. The mysterious 'udurgh' refers to the Earth itself, which is leaking out the sacred blood due to being repeatedly harmed and nearly killed by the Town's presence. Destroying the Polyhedron will produce enough of this blood to cure everyone, but kill the Earth in the process, causing many of the 'miracles' of the world - including many aspects of the Kin - to fade and die. It is up to the player which option they choose: either the tower is destroyed and the town is saved, or the tower remains in place and the Kin retake the Town.
