I full-heartedly believe that grub should be able to gamble without legal consequence. I think I should be able to play blackjack with grubs. I'm so bored in these caverns help

I do just want to say I hope Ippei is able to get help and rebuild his life. Obviously saying he fucked up is a huge understatement and I'm not saying Shohei has to forgive him or anything. Addiction makes people do things they normally wouldn't and the way society at large treats addicts of any kind is fucked up

i hate them i love them <3 costelloselby core <3 cruel to be kind needle drop..... u know shit's about to go down between them while everyone watches on as they come to blows Again. tears. blood. and then they're like please come here and comfort me and never ever leave me...... 🥴🥴🥴 insanely toxic self-destructive behaviour on selby's end. i don't think i've seen a relationship on tv quite like theirs. like when it's Bad it's hard to watch but you also can't look away.

i love (and by "love" i mean "am deeply annoyed by") the new trend of ads that are like "some people say we're lying, but we aren't!" like wow damn ok guess i can't argue with that.

something that i couldn't stop thinking about while watching andor was how similar it was to a lot of legends/EU themes and storytelling (specifically 90s pre-prequels novels). Say what you will about EU canon but where it shined was its ability to explore the politics and life of a galaxy in a power struggle post-rotj, and while andor obviously takes place before that, the ethical dilemmas power struggles darker side of the rebellion/burgeoning new republic, oppression and colonization (NOT necessarily done well in the EU by white male 90s scifi authors lol but still explored in a way the live action sw did not) that are the meat of a lot of EU novels are very much present in andor in a way that we haven't seen on-screen or really in disney's new canon at all. I am not generally a fan of the new canon "EU" but i am excited with how andor is making an effort to flesh it out in a way clearly inspired by legends

N.F.L.’s Rapid Embrace of Gambling Creates Mixed Signals - The New York Times
"Since the Supreme Court struck down, in 2018, a federal law that effectively banned sports betting outside Nevada — a prohibition once backed by the N.F.L.’s commissioner, Roger Goodell — the N.F.L. has embraced the gambling industry. It has forged partnerships reportedly worth nearly $1 billion over five years with sports betting companies, and permitted a sports book to operate inside one of its stadiums. Now it even has a team in Las Vegas, which the league shunned for decades because any affiliation was seen as a threat to the integrity of the game.
Yet the embedding of sports gambling so quickly into the culture of the league has resulted in jarring contradictions. The N.F.L. is pushing to popularize and benefit from sports betting while still guarding against the potential pitfalls that it long condemned. While the league donates money to promote responsible gambling, its broadcasts are peppered with advertisements for sports betting companies. The N.F.L. is part of a growing apparatus that encourages casual fans to regularly place wagers on games, while punishing league employees — most notably players — who might do the same...."

Is ciles nickname pronounced with a S sound or K sound? If it’s K, why did he choose the name that sounds identical to Kyle??????
his nickname is pronounced the same as "sill" 😭 now I can't help but imagine the trouble he went through correcting everybody's pronunciation of his name! I think he might've almost given up at one point and told them to call him "sans"

Saw a review of Six of Crows that was like "this is a fun book but the characters do not remotely think or act like teenagers." Lol. I was thinking the same thing the entire time like you expect me to believe any of these extremely competent professionals are younger than 20. I know a lot of YA books suspend disbelief in this way but Six of Crows was maybe the worst offender I've ever read where the characters are so obviously adults but the author made them seventeen-year-olds arbitrarily. End the obsession with youth lol. Kids can read YA books about competent adults acting like adults, it's good for them because then you don't think you stop being cool once you hit eighteen. If u wanna write a book about seventeen-year-olds maybe center the premise around things seventeen-year-olds might actually think/say/do, even as fantasy criminals
