“Will that be everything, sir?”
He gives a stern nod and sends you on your way. Not without noting the satisfied smile blooming on your lips as you turn away from him.
Too soft for this job, he thinks not for the first or second time. He thought so when he first met you, kept thinking it during the trial period, and it’s unlikely he’ll stop anytime soon.
Still, no matter what he thinks, your work ethics and dedication cannot be ignored. It should be admired by many of your peers, really. Whatever he thinks, you’re efficient and your reports are precise and include everything he wants them to contain.
He watched you on a couple assignments. You work well, with expertise others might take months or years to develop. You do not hesitate to subdue souls unwilling to part with the world of the living.
And yet you’re too soft. It’s too obvious in the tender look in your eyes when they meet his. In the meekness of your voice when you speak to him, in the blush on your cheeks. In the cautious way you approach him. You’re like a stray kitten deciding whether to trust him or not.
And admittedly, he was trying to make you crack for some time now.
It wasn’t often that you followed his lead, but until now, it always went well. He would never expect to find himself in a situation like this.
He had his own reasons for coming to personally take care of this mess. This has been one troublesome group of souls and he knew this case would be a highly complicated and dangerous one. Things could go south easily, which he always liked to avoid.
And to his credit, and to the credit of the team members he handpicked for this particular night, everything did go smoothly. At least until

He whips around the moment he hears a soft whimper from a voice he recognizes as yours. Everyone else seemed confused, but he knew. You only ever spoke softly around him. Always so careful and respectful it bordered on scared. He doesn’t hesitate, following with resolute steps to the source of the panicked sound.
He finds you pinned against the wall. The man holds you by your throat, whispering threats that Joonggil cannot hear. You should be able to get out of such situation. He’s seen you fight. But seeing you struggle, something prevents him from scolding you. Yet he knows if it had been anyone else, he’d yell at them to stop messing around.
Instead he storms over and punches the man without a warning. He hears your panicked squeak. From the corner of his eye he pays attention to you as you free yourself, hiding behind him. Too soft. He doesn’t say anything, not to you, but he grabs the man who suddenly seems very cooperative and scared. Apparently there’s no need to speak to him either. It’s not hard to pass him over to the other members to have him escorted. Then he turns to you.
He frowns seeing you all but cowering against the wall. He tilts his head slightly, scanning you for injuries, but there is no visible wound.
“Did he hurt you?” he asks, hiding his surprise well - he didn’t mean to sound so angry. You flinch a little and he takes half a step back, giving you space.
“No,” you answer. He hears the effort in your voice to respond to him as you usually do instead of showing your fear. For some reason it feels inappropriate to him. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t breathe and panicked. It won’t happen again.”
“It won’t,” he agrees. Because he won’t allow it, he wants to add, just to reassure you. Just to make you stop curling in on yourself. He has no means to ensure the situation doesn’t repeat itself. But as of now he was successful enough in making sure none of his subordinates got too hurt. He won’t let you ruin his achievement. He sees you swallow uneasily.
“I’m sorry I didn’t help,” you stutter a little, your cheeks visibly heating up. He can’t help but think it cute. “I just didn’t want to get in your way.”
“Seemed more like you wanted to be protected,” he hums, amusement tugging the corners of his lips upwards. He could laugh at the way you avoid his eyes with even more determination. You really are too soft. But maybe it’s not a bad thing. “It must’ve been scary.”
You snap your head to look at him so fast he worries you’ll hurt yourself. You look so surprised he almost second guesses himself - did you fear him this entire time? He allows his muscles to relax, allows the ghost of a smile to appear on his lips. “These accidents happen. Make sure you practice your defense more, you’re good enough on the offense.”
“Yes, sir,” you nod immediately. You still look a little dazed. It truly is amusing. Usually you’d consider yourself dismissed and run away, but you linger around. He wonders why, but only one reason comes to mind.
He turns around and leads the way.
“Follow me, if you still feel too scared to return alone,” he tries to hide the humor in his voice.
He should be annoyed. Yet he only feels fondness in his chest hearing your shy and quiet ‘yes, sir’ and your footsteps following closely after his.

[Interactive Stories]Painting - Part 02
Lee Soo Hyuk Story
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Part 01
Painting
(Lee Soo Hyuk Story)
Part 02
Soo Hyuk turned to the gallery owner and told her he would like to buy the painting. The sparkle in her eyes was a clear sign she was about to skyrocket the price. Hyuk didn’t care. He couldn’t bear the idea of someone hanging this very intimate painting in their living room and showing it to guests debating about the investment and how the value of the painting will only grow when the artist is dead. Amateurs and dilettantes staring at the poor woman and discussing her enormous suffering while munching on single bites and sipping champagne. Hyuk had to give that painting some decent place to stay off public eyes and in privacy and peace.
As expected, the gallery owner handed Hyuk her calling card with a sum scribbled on it and it was even more than he would ever imagine. His better judgement was telling him it’s foolish to spend such money on a painting he knows so little about. All his instincts were screaming ‘Buy it’. It wasn’t his habit to listen to instincts over cold logic but this time he nodded and asked the gallery owner to prepare papers for signing. The woman smiled gently but her eyes glistened with greed and she left to prepare everything needed in her office. Hyuk remained by the painting and looked at it once again. It was impossible and yet it seemed to him as if the woman in the painting looked slightly relieved.
“You've been staring at this painting ever since we came, my friend.”
Hyuk only nodded and didn’t even look at Hong Jong Hyun. “I just bought it.” Hyuk said bluntly.
Jong Hyun looked at the painting. “Why?” He asked. “I mean, you’re not really a fan of figurative art if I remember correctly. You only have all those modern art pieces at home where I can’t tell what it is. Here it’s pretty clear what the painting depicts. And I would guess the lady isn’t even your type.”
“You are right about everything. And yet I bought it.” Hyuk handed Jong Hyun the calling card.
Jong Hyun’s eyes popped: “How much? Are you insane?”
“It seems so.” Hyuk pressed his lips. “I can’t explain it. All I know is that I have to have this painting. I have never done anything this reckless in my life.”
Jong Hyun gave the calling card back. “I guess we all need to do something purely intuitive once in a while. So! What’s the story of this painting? It looks like it’s gotta be intense.”
“I have no idea. The author is dead, he didn’t even give the painting a name and you can notice some details are unfinished. He clearly died before completing the painting. The model is an unknown woman. Although I wish to know who she is.”
“A mysterious art piece with dark unknown history, irresistible and invading your mind. That sounds like a great movie plot. Are we going on a quest to find out who’s the woman and if she’s real, are we going to track her down and meet in person?”
Jong Hyun clearly meant it as a joke but Hyuk just realised that this is exactly what he’s called to do. It felt as if the painting was incepting those thoughts in his brain. “You don’t have to help me but I’m going to find out who the model is.”
“For real?” Jong Hyun asked, slightly surprised. “Man! That one got under your skin fast. Alright then! What kind of a friend would let you investigate a possibly cursed painting on your own? I’m in! It’s not like I had anything better to do this autumn anyway. Let’s sniff that lady out!” Jong Hyun called but he bit his lower lip. “That sounded way weirder than in my head.”
The gallery owner came to invite them to her office. The formalities were handled quickly and Hyuk was promised to receive the painting the next morning. The gallery offered him an installing service for free. For that price they could also give him a free stay in Italian Venice.
“I would like to know something about the painting and the artist, some history of the piece.” Hyuk told the gallery owner.
“I’m afraid there’s not much to be told.” She quickly typed something on a keyboard and the printer next to her desk started buzzing. I’ll give you the full description we received with the painting.” She waited for the printer to be finished, put the loose papers in an aesthetic file with a gallery logo on it and handed it to Hyuk.
His first instinct was to open it and read it here but it didn’t feel polite. He waited till it was acceptable for him to leave the gallery. Jong Hyun was the driver tonight and Hyuk’s lift back home.
“What does it say?” Jong Hyun asked as they got stuck in a traffic jam.
“Nothing much, to be frank. The artist was a Swiss man named Basil Van Paar. He used to be a war zone journalist and photographer but then he dropped that and became an artist. He painted several members of European noble families. He lived alone, no wife, no kids. He was found dead in his apartment in Geneva 6 months ago. Cause of death was a heart failure. This painting was found on the easel covered with a cloth. Clearly he was about to start working on it when his heart stopped. His sister, who lives in Vienna in Austria, found a journal where Basil noted down various information about each of his paintings and all were covered there but this one. They couldn’t find a single note or a sketch for this painting. It looked like one day he started painting without any prep. Nobody knows who the woman on the painting is or whether she’s real or just some sort of a fantastic character, a mix of several people Basil put together in his mind.”
“Oh! So the quest might actually lead nowhere if the painting depicts only a fictional character?” Jong Hyun asked.
“Exactly.” Hyuk whispered and closed the file. They finally got through the jam and Jong Hyun stepped on acceleration.
Jong Hyun licked his lips. “But you are still determined to seek her.” It wasn’t a question.
“Yes.” Hyuk agreed.
“What’s the first step?” Jong Hyun asked.

REQUEST:
Office romance w lee soohyuk BUT give them an age gap (Appropriate one but like 6-20ish year gap idk u pick) but special request to make reader 25 or 26 then just age him up a bit. Like semi new hire (and she's from a relatively rich foreign background) x soon-to-retire-CEO's child (basically a chaebol). Does it make sense???
Unlikely Heart
Tumblr media
a/n: office romance with soohyuk screams enemy to lovers for me, so that is what i went for. it’s not my best writing, but i did experiment with the tension hehe. thank you for ur request, hope you like it !
pairing: lee soohyuk x reader genre: enemies to lovers
papers were piling on his desk, waiting to be checked and approved, but that’s not what was pissing the dark-haired male off. lee soohyuk, from the lee family that owns xxx company, loudly sighed as he recalled the meeting he had with his father. he had been under microscopic supervision for the past month, as he was being prepared to take over the company with his father’s retirement. as stressful as it is, his dad told him about someone rejoining the team because she is a “valuable member” that the company can’t do without.
that person was you, only you were the complete opposite to soohyuk. in his perspective he thinks that the company can do very well without you, because you’re just an annoying distraction, and the 33 year old male does not have the energy to deal with the 26 year old (y/n) (l/n). the man in the suit groaned as he felt the headache creep up on him.
he dragged himself out of his chair as he walked out of his office and into the elevator to the reception- to greet you. basic manners, my son. she’s from a prestigious family that owns xyz company, and she’s agreed to work with us again and help set you on track. he rubbed the space between his eyebrows in preparation for what’s to come.
you walked through the revolving door with confidence. you knew that soohyuk does not think that you’re competent enough in your role, but you were determined to change his mind. you were dressed in dark blue jeans and a cream button up shirt with a blazer over your shoulder to add more formality to your presence. as you looked up, you saw him and cursed under your breath. god was he breathtaking. the way he stood, so sure of himself yet not arrogant; the way a small part of his hair fell astray onto the side of his face — you knew your mission was almost impossible. do not fall for him, again. you told yourself.
“long time no see, miss know it all” he smirked as you stood in front of him “i hope the road wasn’t too bumpy for your highness.” you really preferred him with his mouth shut. “long time no see, mr. perfect. the ride was not too bad, thank you.” you gave him a curt smile while thinking of 10 different ways to wipe his smug look off his face.
“(y/n) !” you looked towards the voice, and the ceo was beaming at you. “how are you, my dear? it’s been a while.” as much as you disliked his son, the father was a soft-hearted old man. “i’ve been doing well, and i’m excited to be back!” you smiled. “well, soohyuk over here truly needs some help adjusting to the changes, as he will be taking my place soon.” the taller man scoffed as his father gave him a stern look. “i hope that you two work well, and if you need anything, the future ceo is always available for help!” he beamed while soohyuk burned holes with his stare.
you were excited to be back in korea, doing new things and growing in your career, but you had a feeling a certain someone won’t make it so enjoyable.
.
.
an important meeting with potential investors was coming up tomorrow and soohyuk was reviewing his employees’ presentation. his finger stopped scrolling abruptly. an important calculation was missing. the one that will persuade the investors to even want to join hands with the company, winning them over. he was panicked yes, but he also had a devilish plan dancing on his mind.
“i will be needing this calculation on the presentation at 8 am sharp tomorrow.” he placed the papers in front of you nonchalantly. “but work hours are almost over and this part needs at least half a day’s worth of work?” you looked up at him, confused. “your point? you will either prove your worth for this position or, you will prove exactly my thoughts – a replaceable member.” he smirked. you stared at him in disbelief, anger slowly rising. he turned to walk away, “investors will be here by 8:30 am
oh and, you will be the one presenting.” his mocking voice was all that echoed in your head as you were determined to wipe it off his face.
8:30 am rolled around, as soohyuk was sitting at the center of the table, waiting expectantly. he expected every possible scenario, but not this. he did not expect you to stride in with such confidence, talk with elegance and precision, all the while staring directly at him. that was the first time he truly looked into your eyes, as he recognized the passion and determination. your calculation was flawless, the investors were eager to join hands, and he realized something terrible about himself.
he liked you. he was attracted to you. whatever had happened the first time you joined was him slowly falling for you. he was always impressed with your talent and passion, but hated the affection that came with it. and what a terrible thing it is, to fall for someone that can’t be his.
naturally, his response to this revelation is to avoid you at all costs. he wasn’t relentlessly criticizing your work anymore, kept brief conversations for work purposes, but not more than that. however, he wasn’t aware of the ticking bomb on the edge of exploding.
you were sitting at your desk, staring at the curtained office. what has gotten into him? you knew you got him back good for trying to downplay your skills and position, but you never imagined his reaction would be so extreme. and why was it bothering you so much? he was finally treating you less like a nuisance and more like a person, given how he was the last time you worked here — you almost went mad. you fell in love with him and he never saw you.
.
you had to do something about it.
.
you absentmindedly entered the elevator, not realizing that a tall, looming presence was standing at the end of it – busying himself with his phone. when the doors closed with just the two of you in it, you grabbed the opportunity. you pressed the emergency stop button midway and turned to the shocked man beside you. “what the hell?-“ he started “what the hell is wrong with you? you and i know that i did goddamn well in that presentation, just like you wanted. so what is this now? why are you avoiding me? pretending that i don’t exist? all i’m asking is for us to be civil-“
you couldn’t finish the sentence as you were slammed against the wall, hands cradling your face, lush lips on your own. your squeal was muffled as he gently nibbled on your lower lip, begging for a reaction. your eyes were wide, mind foggy with the way he was kissing you. he could sense your stillness –pulling back ready to apologize “i’m-i..” it was your turn to crash on him. you wrapped your arms around his neck, wanting to close any gaps between your bodies. you pulled at his jet black hair, earning a groan in return. unfortunately running out of air, you had to break the kiss and breathe.
you turned your face to the side, breathing softly, confusion settling in. “i’m sorry” your heart dropped, wanting to be anywhere but in this elevator. “i’m sorry for not realizing how in love i am with you, and how horrible i treated you in return.” you snapped your head so fast you swear you could’ve heard a crack. his eyes was already set on yours, glistening under the fluorescent light. “it all made sense to me during that presentation. you were confident, alluring, and when you set your eyes on me i
.” he dipped his head to rest it onto your shoulder. “my feelings crashed into me like a wave, unstoppable. i couldn’t bare the thought of you looking at someone else like that
and i knew i have no right whatsoever.”
he dared to continue “do you have the slightest feelings for me? do you think that you could forgive me for being a jerk and give me a second chance?” he wrapped his arms around your waist, needing all the support he can get if you were to reject him. your heart almost leapt out of your chest from the happiness you were feeling. you almost wanted to convince yourself that this was a very good dream.
“it took you long enough, you jerk.” you nudged his shoulder “i left the first time with the determination to get over you
” soohyuk felt his heart drop. he let his arms come back to his side, standing up again. you looked at his pained expression taking over. “but it went right out the window the second time i came here — the first time i saw you again.” you sighed and reached over to caress his face, feeling his soft skin under your touch. he brought your hand towards his mouth, and kissed the palm of your hand. “you have a lot of making up to do, soohyuk.” you shivered at his touch.
“i promise to make up for all the lost time, (y/n)” he smiled as he slowly came closer, “i think maintenance will come if we don’t get this elevator moving again.” you tried to reason, giggling as his hands cupped your face. “one more kiss won’t hurt..” your giggles were muffled as he kissed you again.
her lips were soft, almost silken, and pillowy against my own.  I could feel the soft tickle of her breath beneath my nose, fingers running through her soft hair as we breathed each other in. in the end, it was her my heart was searching for.
—end.

Fanfic | Into You
— Lee Soohyuk x you (FemReader)
syn: A cafe owner secretly in love with his part time staff.
(viii)
Things had been a little crazy lately.
With the new cafĂ© branch opening, Soohyuk had been busier than ever—early mornings, late nights, and way too many training sessions with fresh-faced baristas who didn’t even know how to hold a milk pitcher properly.
Still, no matter how swamped he got, he always made sure to return to the main café before closing time so he could drive you home.
. . .
Soohyuk was slouched in the manager’s chair at the new cafĂ©, poking at his half-eaten lunch while skimming account reports he was definitely not in the mood for—when his phone buzzed.
Sora.
He opened the message lazily.
[1 Image Attachment]
The second the photo loaded, his jaw tensed.
It was you. Behind the counter. Smiling. Looking cute as hell.
But then his eyes narrowed at the grinning figure in front of you. This guy again?
A customer. Leaning a little too close, smiling like he had just won the lottery.
Soohyuk’s eye twitched.
Sora had warned him about this mysterious customer—always lingering, always finding excuses to chat you up, always asking unnecessary questions just to keep you talking. And now, here he was again, leaning casually on the counter like he owned the place.
Soohyuk clicked his tongue in annoyance. He knew you were just doing your job, but still
 did you have to smile at the guy like that? He shook his head, realizing he was getting distracted. He still had new staff to train, but his mind kept wandering back to the photo, wondering if the guy was still there, still trying to charm his way into your good graces.
And now Soohyuk was annoyed. And jealous.
He tapped his fingers against the table, staring at his phone. He wanted to call you, but the moment he thought about it, he groaned and rubbed his face in frustration. Why am I even feeling like this? He had been thirty for a few years now—he should be above childish jealousy. And yet, here he was, bothered by some random customer at his own cafĂ©.
Still, he couldn’t shake off the feeling. So, he hit the call button.
You picked up after the third ring. "Hey! How’s training going?"
"It’s fine," Soohyuk muttered, clearing his throat. He needed to approach this carefully. "How’s the cafĂ©? Anything
 interesting happening?"
You hummed in thought. "Not really? Just the usual rush. Nothing crazy."
Soohyuk exhaled slowly. Just say it, he told himself. But the words felt ridiculous. Instead, he blurted out, "Good. But don’t smile so sweetly at customers."
There was a pause. "...What?"
"You heard me."
You laughed, clearly confused. "Wait. Didn’t you tell me how important it is to be friendly? You literally said my best weapon is my smile!"
Soohyuk immediately regretted this approach. He clicked his tongue in frustration. "Yeah, well
 maybe not for all customers."
Your eyes widened slightly as realization hit. Sora must have sent him a photo.
You grinned to yourself, deciding to tease him. "Ah
 I see. Does this happen to be about one specific customer?"
Soohyuk went silent.
"You’re jealous."
"I’m not—" He sighed, giving up. "Forget it."
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Soohyuk, you shouldn’t care about him."
"I don’t care about him. I care about you." He sighed again, rubbing his temple. "Just
 stop smiling too sweetly."
Your amusement softened into fondness. "You’re cute when you’re jealous, you know that?"
He groaned. "Don’t say that."
"But you are!"
"So I’m this old and still jealous like this. What am I even doing?"
"You know what? I’m actually glad you feel that way."
Soohyuk paused. "Glad?"
"Yeah," you admitted, twirling your lunch pasta with your fork. "It means you care. And honestly
 I miss you."
Soohyuk blinked, his heart doing an involuntary little flip. He had been hoping you'd say that, but actually hearing it made his stomach flutter in a way that was both satisfying and slightly ridiculous.
"I even wished you forgot a file or something," you continued playfully, "just so you'd have a reason to drop by and I could see you—even for a split second."
Soohyuk exhaled sharply, rubbing the back of his neck. "You should’ve told me earlier. I could’ve pretended to forget a file."
You giggled. "Then do it next time."
"Fine," he muttered, a small smirk forming. "But only if you really do miss me that much."
"I do."
He leaned back in his chair, smiling to himself. He could already picture your face—flushed red, as always, whenever he teased you with romantic words.
"Alright. Then I’ll be back at the cafĂ© around four."
You blinked. "That early? Aren’t you busy training new staff?"
Soohyuk replied playfully, "Because you miss me, I can’t let you miss me for too long."
You laughed, shaking your head. "You just wanted an excuse to check on me, didn’t you?"
"...Maybe," he admitted with a lazy smirk.
You grinned, warmth blooming in your chest. "Then I’ll see you at four, jealous cafĂ© owner."
Soohyuk scoffed but didn’t correct you. "See you."
And with that, he hung up, already looking forward to seeing you.

( lee soohyuk, transmasc, he/him ) — amongst the faces lining the staff portrait wall, you recognize SION LEE, the thirty-five year old professor within the school. having spent five years as a member of the verum staff, students say that they’re reminiscent of warm calloused hands stained black with gunpowder and iron / an empty grave sitting upon the top of a hill overlooking the sea, abandoned but not forgotten / fluttering pages of an opened children storybook in the wind, covered in debris and stained with blood, never completed / burning the midnight oil searching for answers within stacks of books until the pitch black sky breaks into sepia-toned dawn. their unwavering and conscientious temperament brings color to these halls, but be warned, you may also find them to be taciturn and disillusioned. regardless, hopefully they’ll remain when it’s time for verum to open its doors again.

SUMMARY.
his name is sion lee. thirty-five years of age. a professor of metallurgy at verum academy. if not caught teaching, he can usually be found in his own office buried nose-deep in a book about metallurgy or the human anatomy, or in the lab jotting down calculations upon the already full chalkboard. if you still can’t find him by the time the clock strikes 5 pm, try again tomorrow because he had already headed home to his husband and daughters. something to keep in mind, though; he doesn’t care for geniuses or prodigies—only hard work. joined verum as a part of the faculty five years ago despite having never studied there, though he claims to have been taught by a former professor as their apprentice. strangely enough he avoids anything relating to weaponry and would rather utilize his skills for communal purposes like engineering. most people only remembered him as the stranger who wandered into cynefin seven years ago, muttering gibberish about death and the sea before the local priest rescued and nursed him back to health. upon first glance might seem standoffish due to his quiet and intimidating exterior, but is actually helpful if you ask him. always looks deep in thought that one might think he is reflecting something beyond the grand scheme of things (spoiler: he’s thinking about going home already because he misses his family). can be quite blunt, but only because he thinks holding back on things will cause problems later. always jumps to the worst case scenario so he won’t ever be taken by surprise, and will not hesitate to state his less-than-hopeful view on the subject out loud even if it means lowering the morale of the group. also fiercely protective of those he considers as “his”.
BACKSTORY.
born as yohan lim in a city by the borders of clywd-isle, to a family full of scholars. father was a skilled healer, known for his community service and humanitarian acts. mother was an engineer employed by the town hall to help with local development. they both met during their education in verum. grandmother is a self-taught healer herself.
when the conflict first arrived at their hometown, it first took his parents with them, then his grandmother not long after. yohan was forced to become the sole caretaker of his then infant sister, siyeon, alongside an orphan that his grandmother took in few years prior named cyrus.
their survival mostly relied on moving from city to city, with yohan utilizing his bare minimum knowledge of transmutation to work odd jobs here and there. they lived on the streets or abandoned houses or even shelters and orphanages as they couldn’t afford rent. the only constant thing in his life was siyeon and cyrus, so yohan held onto them with everything he’s got, even if it means he had to work until the palm of his hands or the soles of his feet are bloody.
at eighteen, it was cyrus who got taken away from him, and yohan was then recruited by the military. the soldier had told him that it was an experimental program to create soldiers that can also produce weapons in the events of a war, spearheaded by a former professor hailing from verum. as they were promised food and shelter in the military, yohan agreed to join.
yohan himself became the professor’s apprentice, who claimed to have also taught his mother during her studies in verum. aside from khemia training, he was made to participate in standard military training such as survival skills and combat. his mentor deemed it necessary in order for yohan to understand how his weapons will be used in real battle situations.
ten years later he finds himself in talcelin, a prominent member of his ranks due to his skills and achievements. yet even then the sight of the battlefield still causes dread and guilt to keep him awake at night, especially knowing that his creations has caused innocent children like them to suffer. chose to turn a blind eye for his sister’s sake.
ironically enough, it was siyeon who begged him to leave the military with her after finding out the true nature of yohan’s job, which prompted his mentor to eventually assassinate her. clueless at first, yohan turned his grief into hatred for the enemy and continued his work, even participating actively as a soldier at battle. it wasn’t until his mentor got drunk and confessed to orchestrating siyeon’s death that yohan finally murdered the professor before escaping the military.
which finally brought him to cynefin after months of wandering aimlessly, looking for a sea to set siyeon’s belongings free before taking his own life, only to find a still alive cyrus instead. finding a reason to keep living once again, yohan chose to settle down with the younger man and form a family with the arrival of their twin daughters. hence the year 925 marked the death of yohan lim and the beginning of sion lee.
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
someone from his military days. maybe you were dispatched together once, or maybe you two only known each other from afar. either way sion isn’t very pleased to see a walking reminder of his old life
 but maybe that’s exactly what he needs.
neighbors in cynefin. “you scratch my back and i’ll scratch yours” type of arrangement? you ask for help with mechanical/building related stuff and in return he receives a constant supply of pastries and homecooked meals? or they simply just enjoy each other’s company? or maybe the opposite; you can’t sleep because he kept tinkering with his husband’s prosthetics at night.
fellow professors in verum. the quiet ones who doesn’t mind his company while reading. the cheerful/easygoing ones that became his closest work friend. the ones that probably thought he standoffish until they interacted.
fellow staff in verum. librarians who had to keep reminding him to return the books he borrowed to the point of going on first-name basis. infirmary staffs who had to deal with his chemical burns during experiments. security who has to deal with his failed experiments.
students. those who genuinely like him. those who just wants a good grade. those who had always been considered as the rotten eggs but he thought has potential.
and more!! these are the ones i could recall at the top of my head atm so i’m most definitely open to discuss plots, etc. actually if you ever come up with something for our muse out of the blue just throw it at me bc i will love u for it.

Okay I’ll send my request!
I have nothing in mind exactly, but a few days ago I started working out, yeah I’m going to the gym and all #letsmakewonhoproud
I use wonho as an inspiration but today lee soohyuk just made a fucking gym photos dump (and i think he looks like seonghwa - FOR ME THEY ARE TWINS OKAY)
So maybe just to keep me motivated to keep going to the gym, what about a gym scenario about
instructor!Wonho x fem!reader
Or
seonghwa x fem!reader
Hehet thats it, what do you think?
So, I was just gonna keep this in the inbox, but I decided I will just let you know, I will work on this soon, when I get more motivation to write longer stories.

Him as a Boyfriend: LEE SOOHYUK
/ Park SeoJoon // Ji ChangWook // Kang HaNeul // Lee SooHyuk // Seo KangJoon // Kim YoungKwang /
/ BLOCK B // EXO // HIGHLIGHT // SOLOISTS /
Tumblr media
First things first;
You’ll get to see him ugly;
What do I mean by that?;
All of his derp faces would be only for you;
Not intentional, of course, but they would be there;
And you’d probably totally store them for blackmail in your phone at any given opportunity;
     He’d do the same with you, though;
And then all of those stored pictures would proceed to plague the internet;
     Only sometimes though;
That would be your idea of revenge;
But again, he’d do the same with you;
     That’s only after your relationship would be revealed to the public though;
And most would genuinely love that side of the both of you;
Such wars would probably be forced to be stopped by the agency, as well;
     Because they were fun as hell and ain’t nobody gonna stop exposing each other;
All of the derps would be immediately deleted from any social media in this case;
     Yet still stored in your phones;
Obvious to point out, but in this way SooHyuk would be a childish lover;
     Which was quite a turnover from what you expected when you just started seeing him;
Because he appeared to be quite refined and with a lulling speech that left you confused half-way through;
     It was only a cover to his inner child;
Now everytime he speaks he channels his child into everything;
He pouts when you don’t give him `enough` attention;
He goes for aegyo when he needs something out of you and you’re not budging;
He covers his eyes at his own acting when something mild enough comes up;
So lovable;
Can probably cook basic stuff, as well;
     Just enough to survive, though;
So whenever you’d be sick he’d purposefully not cook t not make your cold any worse;
He’d go to his mother to ask her to cook something for you;
And she would because she loved you;
     She high-key waited for you two to get married quickly.

That anon that commented about you writing Soohyuk as a jealous bf being cute + you saying you need to write more cute stuff SO I raise you: Soohyuk bring properly jealous? By properly I mean a drabble just on this rather than it being a subplot :) But no pressure, I completely understand writers blocks and I hope you get to work through whatever it is you were aiming for from your WIP!!
...I just realized that I really haven't yet written anything about jealous Soohyuk?? Good for me to fix that finally~ Thank you for requesting this ♡
Lee Soohyuk | Jealousy fluff | 0.9k | gn!reader
Tumblr media
Going through memories of everything that’s happened during the evening, you look at him from the corner of your eye. There’s nothing that you’d say was over the line, anything that you’d consider inappropriate. You were both very well aware of each other’s boundaries, and therefore careful not to cross them. So you really have no idea why Soohyuk’s acting like he is. The way home was already awkward enough, but it’s even worse now that the silence spreads inside your home.
“Did something happen?” you speak up, trying to break the ice as Soohyuk moves around the kitchen. He turns to you for a second with a small smile. He looks tired, and you really hope that’s all there is to it.
“I don’t think so,” he sighs, but you know him well enough to note the hint of frustration in the sound. You watch him take two steaming cups and bring them to the living room and prepare the coasters so he can set the cups down. He thanks you quietly and you relax a little when he sits down next to you, close enough for your thighs to touch.
You don’t rush him, knowing that if he’s already quiet, demanding explanation would do nothing to help the situation. So you watch the steam swirl in the air, only sometimes stealing a glance in his direction. He’s still in his suit, just as you are still in the clothes you’ve picked for the event. Somehow it makes the whole thing seem even more eerie. Like something out of a movie when things are about to get real bad.
Suddenly you feel his hand tentatively placed on your leg. You turn towards him and try not to feel too anxious at the guarded look on his face. He licks his lips while avoiding your eyes, and it dawns on you that maybe he’s just as nervous as you are - which you don’t think is a good sign.
“You did nothing wrong,” is the first thing he says and his lips turn up a little. His hand squeezes your thigh. “You were just gone for too long, I guess.”
His voice gets quieter with each word until it sounds like he’s just muttering something to himself. You frown and it makes him immediately turn to you, concern written all over his face.
“What do you mean?” you ask, placing your hand over his on your leg. He sighs, but this time it sounds strained.
“I got jealous,” he says, and you’d think he cursed at you or something the way he looks at you, “I’m sorry.”
“What are you apologizing for?” you chuckle, “You scared me, couldn’t you just say so?”
“It’s embarrassing,” he whispers, a tiny pout to his lips, “I just missed you and we were hanging out with other people.”
“That’s all?” you smile at him, “I haven’t done anything to make you feel this way?”
He shakes his head, taking his hand off your leg to wrap it around your waist and pull you closer. He kisses the top of your head, inhaling deeply to reassure himself that you’re here, home, with him.
“You really could’ve just said so,” you repeat, “I wouldn’t get mad.”
“I know, but it’s childish,” the pout has returned to his voice. You shake your head, adjusting your position to throw your legs over his lap. He secures them there with his free arm immediately. “You know I don’t get like that. It’s just worse because we haven’t seen each other much lately.”
“You should’ve told me earlier,” this time it’s your turn to sigh, “I got really worried I made you upset somehow.”
“I couldn’t,” he laughs, hiding his face into your hair even though you can’t see him anyway, “I felt like I’d cause a scene or look like a clingy boyfriend. If I told you, everyone would notice we’re always together and you know how gossip is.”
“I’d love to see you make a scene,” you smirk, but make up for the teasing immediately by snuggling closer to him. He kisses the side of your head before finally looking at you again. There’s a hint of pink to his ears.
“You’d like that?” he asks. It’s cute how he tries to tease you with blush creeping up his neck.
“Maybe,” you lean your head back on his shoulder, “It’d be hot if you just came over and showed everyone I’m yours. I know we can’t do that, but it’d be nice. Better than worrying I did something wrong.”
“I didn’t mean to make you worry,” he apologizes, “I just didn’t want to admit I'm jealous either.”
You nod, pulling him closer to kiss him properly, and you feel the tension slowly melt out of his body the longer you kiss him.
“Well, it was you who took me home at the end of the night and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” you peck his lips one more time. He leans his forehead against yours, stealing another kiss himself.
“I’m glad we’re home,” he agrees. You let the time pass, perfectly content in his embrace. After all, you missed him too, and as nice as it was to see him in his suit, socializing and working at the event, it was much better to have him this close, in the privacy of your apartment. Somewhere you could pull each other in for a kiss whenever you wanted without prying eyes.

[Interactive Stories] Painting - Part 01
Lee Soo Hyuk Story

Painting
(Lee Soo Hyuk Story)
Part 01
Lee Soo Hyuk was standing in front of a painting in a gallery. Initially, this was only one of many similar events he was getting invitations to every week. He got himself smartly dressed and arrived at vernissage, struck poses for photographers and spent an hour or two looking at art pieces he would never ever put on display in his own home.
This evening was exactly the same until he spotted this one painting. It caught his attention immediately and he couldn’t look away from it. He was fully immersed in the scene it depicted, observing each tiny detail, discovering something new every minute. The painting looked nearly as realistic as a photograph, only certain aspects were clearly done by the hand of the artist. It depicted a young woman sitting on some sofa, her naked back exposed to the artist, her face turned so she was looking right at the audience. Her right arm was loosely placed on the sofa, exposing the wrist. Hyuk probably wouldn’t notice such a woman if he met her on a street but in this picture
 It was a powerful and heartstopping image.
The woman was barely more than skin and bones, her back suffered severe burns a long time ago, her wrist carried marks of razor cuts. Two fingers on her hand seemed weirdly crooked as if they were broken and the bones healed in a wrong way. There were cigarette burn marks on her arms and legs. But the most disturbing was a scar on her neck. It looked as if someone slit her throat with a knife but the wound pulled together and only left a nasty scar there instead of killing her. The woman had the face of a broken angel. Her eyes were baby blue but there was so much pain and sadness in them. Hyuk felt as if his own heart started to bleed for this poor person who clearly suffered way too much.
He closed his eyes in an attempt to detach from the image but it remained in his mind. He opened eyes again only to see the eyes of the woman on the painting. Her lips remained pressed but Hyuk could hear her call for help in his mind. He gulped with difficulties and stepped a bit closer to the painting to read the description. It said that it’s the last work of a now deceased author. He died before finishing it, the painting wasn’t even given a name. The model was an unknown woman. Hyuk felt an unexpected stab of disappointment. For some reason he wanted to know her name or at least have a clue who she might be. Is she still alive? Is she feeling better now? Does she have the kind of care she needs? Author died, the painting had no name, the woman was unknown. Hyuk had no leads to follow at the moment.
“It’s an impressive piece, isn’t it?”
Hyuk turned to the woman standing next to him. She was the owner of this gallery. She surely noticed his interest and spotted an opportunity to do some business here.
“It emits a lot of sorrow and pain.” Hyuk said and had to turn back to the painting as if the model was demanding his attention.
“She must have been beautiful before all that happened.” The gallery owner mentioned, clearly referring to all those scars.
“I think she is beautiful. She endured such torment
” Hyuk stopped and had to blink quickly. He was never an overly emotional person but this painting was just too much for his self composure.
“You’re not the only one who thinks so. I have received offers from two potential buyers already.”
Hyuk blinked slowly. She was clearly bluffing
 but what if it’s true? What if some creep buys this painting to hang it in their living room and let all their guests ogle the pain and suffering of a woman in the picture?

hello 🐰 can I maybe have 1 and 14 with lee soo hyuk? thank you â˜ș
Tumblr media
1: They get drunk & you take them back to your place
14:  “Are you mad at me?”
Soohyuk had been trouble, to say the least. Last night he had gone out with some friends of his and you could say he had a bit too much to drink. That was nearly an understatement, he should just never touch alcohol again. Ever.
Soohyuk slung his arm over your side since you had eventually ended up complying with him and allowing him to sleep in your bed. He refused to go to his own house last night saying something about not wanting to be alone, Soohyuk groaned opening his eyes, finally acknowledging your presence.
“Oh, sorry,” he said sitting up, you let out a hum nodding, “thank you for letting me stay here,” he said shyly, you shot him a glare, “are you mad at me?” He said sounding slightly nervous.
“Never drink again,” you muttered groggily sitting up, “I’ll get you some water,” you muttered pulling yourself up.

My Dancer (Lee Soohyuk Scenario)
Tumblr media
Request: This may sound rather weird but I had dreamt about this and the thought just won't let go of me. So there's this Scenario: y/n is a dancer and currently performing with another group of dancers for a royal theatre. One day the son of the family who owns said theatre visits the dance practice and instantly falls in love with y/n. But because he never felt this kind of love he's a bit rude to her you know like the quarrel of lovers is the renewal of love so but because of his behavior y/n (1) doesn't think too much of him so one day when y/n is on her way home her car breaks down in the middle of a dark forest and of course it starts so rain. So then the son shows up and takes her, soaking wet, to his home where she can shower and change her clothes. But what she didn't know: the son is already married to a girl of equal royal status. But he doesn't love her. So he has lend y/n some clothes from him and of course his wife notices that and treats y/n without any (continued) (2/2) respect at all and kicks her out when the son leaves the room for a moment. Y/n is now completely lost outside, she has no car and it didn't stop raining so she's all soaked again... The end? I leave it up to you. the son's character could be portrayed by Lee soo hyuk, gong yoo or Lee Joon gi thanks in advance and I'm sorry if this is too specific, weird or long ~ Anonymous
A/N: Hey there! I’m sorry this took a bit longer than I said it would, but the scenario, itself, ended up being longer than originally intended...I hope you like it! ~ Admin Silver
Genre: Fluff with a dash of angst
Word Count: 4,493
Summary: Love can be an unfamiliar feeling that will make you do things you never thought.
You lifted your arm over your head and leaned to the side as you focused on your breathing. The attention you were giving your stretches was torn away when you overheard a small group of dancers to your left giggling. You looked over at them as you straightened and leaned the other way. “What’s going on?” you asked curiously. One of the girls looked over at you with an excited grin. “You didn’t hear who came to watch practice today?” she asked. When you shook your head, she and the two other girls waved you over. When you stood next to them, they subtly pointed to a spot directly in the middle of the audience seating. You glanced up to see a man sitting directly in the middle. You couldn’t really make out his features due to the distance and the house lights being down, but you could see his dark hair and impeccably styled black suit. You looked back at your fellow dancers to see them stealing glances at him between giggles. “Who is he?” Another of the girls gawked at you. “You don’t recognize him? That’s Lee Soohyuk. He’s the only son of the Lee family, the one that owns half this city. He’s like...modern day royalty or something.” “You’re from out of town, aren’t you?” the first girl inquired. You nodded and she laughed. “That’s why you didn’t recognize him. Like Sunye said, he’s practically royalty. His family is one of the richest and most prominent around here, and, well, owns half the city. Including this theatre. Usually it’s his mother who comes to watch practice. I wonder why he came?” “Maybe he was bored?” You shrugged. “Or he’s filling in for her.” The third girl laughed and shook her head. “Either way, I’m glad. He’s so handsome
” “Yeah,” the other two sighed, and you couldn’t help but smile. Not a moment later, the choreographer stepped on stage and called for everyone’s attention. She explained the scenes you would be working on today and had everyone take their places. You had a supporting role in the show and were only a few feet away from center stage. You were still a rookie in the company, but even so, you were one of the best dancers this season and a supporting role was the best you could get outside of being part of an ensemble. ~~~ Soohyuk glanced at his phone for what felt like the hundredth time in the last ten minutes. His father had somehow convinced him to attend the ballet corps’ practice at their theatre that day. Something about learning every aspect of the family’s holdings, not just the business side. Soohyuk, however, would rather have been anywhere else. His attention returned to the stage when he heard the choreographer speaking loudly. His eyes scanned over the dancers and paused on one just off to the side. When his gaze landed on her, he felt his heart skip. Soohyuk rubbed at his chest as a knot formed. He wondered over the new sensations for a moment before returning his attention to the girl onstage. He found himself watching her over the next few hours, growing increasingly confused and frustrated over the odd feeling. He only got it when he looked at that particular dancer, and it annoyed him. ~~~ Practice lasted for a few hours like usual, but this time it seemed more taxing. All you wanted was to go home, take a hot shower, and climb into bed in your comfiest pajamas. Your plans, however, were about to be interrupted. “Who the hell are you?” A voice caught your attention as you made your way through the carpark, startling you out of your fantasies. You turned to find the same suited man from earlier. Now that you could actually see his features, you understood why the other girls were so giggly. He certainly was handsome, if a little rude. “Excuse me?” you asked, turning toward him. You crossed your arms, frowning as you watched Soohyuk walk closer. “What’s your name?” he asked this time, stopping just in front of you. One had was in his pocket and the other was twirling an expensive looking smartphone. You watched as he looked you up and down, almost like he was inspecting a specimen. You were growing annoyed at his attitude. You answered his question with one of your own, “Why do you want to know?” Soohyuk shook his head, “Can’t you just answer a simple question?” “___,” you finally told him. He opened his mouth, but you raised your hand to stop him. “I know who you are, Mr. Lee. Is there anything you need from me?” Soohyuk scoffed and the corners of his lips twitched. “Well, then. Nothing, I suppose. Goodbye.” You stared at Soohyuk as he turned and walked away. You watched as he got into the backseat of a nearby car with tinted windows, just leaving you there. “What a weirdo
” you mumbled to yourself as you continued searching for your own car. ~~~ Interestingly--and annoyingly--enough, that wasn’t your last interaction with the man who essentially owned your workplace. After practice every day for the following week, you would be on your way to your car when Soohyuk would stop you. Sometimes he’d catch you in the lobby and sometimes he would stop you in the carpark. Either way, it was the same type of conversation. He’d make some comment about you, your dancing, or your dance partner, and then you would reply with as much sarcasm as you could muster. Sometimes the conversations were teasing. There’d be a tilt to Soohyuk’s grin and a certain sparkle in his eyes. Other times, however, he could be downright rude. You noticed those were the days you practiced scenes with your partner, but you thought nothing of it. You figured you were just the newest toy on a rich boy’s radar. You didn’t dislike Soohyuk, but you weren’t sure how much you liked him either. You had grown so used to these daily interactions that you were shocked the one day you didn’t see him at all. Soohyuk hadn’t shown up to watch practice, in fact no one from his family did. It was the source of plenty of gossip amongst the dancers and you found yourself wondering if something had happened. You made your way through the cars, searching for your own, and realized that you were taking longer than usual. “What am I doing, looking for that weirdo?” you asked yourself quietly as you reached your own car and unlocked it. You threw your bag into the backseat before climbing in behind the wheel. “Jeeze
” You pulled out of your parking spot and quickly made your way to the highway. The news on the radio was talking about an accident halfway between the theatre and your home, so you decided to take the next exit and use a different route that you knew of. Practice ended late this evening, so by the time you reached the backroad, the sun had fallen. You drove through the tall trees trying not to think of all the horror movies you’d watched in your lifetime. “You’d think living in a city, I wouldn’t find myself in a creepy place like this
” you sighed as you turned the radio up to drown out the creepy thoughts. You were singing along to one of your favorite songs twenty minutes later when all of a sudden, your car started to sputter. You turned on your hazard lights and slowly pulled over to the side of the road. Almost as soon as you stopped, the engine cut out. The dashboard lights and radio all shut off, throwing you into darkness and silence. “Shit
” you whispered. You reached over and began digging through the glovebox in search of a small flashlight you stashed there in case of emergencies like this. Once you found it, you pulled the lever to pop the hood and got out of your car. You looked around, eyeing the woods as you made your way to the front of the car. Using your free hand, you lifted the hood and immediately began to cough when a cloud of steam hit your face. You waved the steam away and stared at the smoking engine. “Great. Could this get any worse?” you shouted. As if on cue, a loud peal of thunder answered your question. You looked up at the sky in surprise. “Oh, no. Oh, no no no!” you yelled as you tried to shut the hood quickly. By the time you managed to close it and make it back to your seat, you were all but soaked. You rested your head on the steering wheel, loudly swearing and cursing both the car and sky for a terrible night. You reached back into your practice bag and dug out your cellphone. You dialed your roommate’s cell number, groaning when it went straight to voicemail. You banged your head against the headrest before sighing, “This cannot be happening. Why is this--AAAHH!!” You screamed when a pounding knock sounded against your window. You placed your hand on your chest to try and calm your racing heart. You held your cellphone tightly and looked to the side to see who it was. “Mr. Lee?!” you squawked, quickly rolling down the window. “What are you
?” Soohyuk leaned down and narrowed his eyes at you. He had an umbrella in one hand and a cell phone in the other. “___?” he asked. “Why are you out here like this?” “My car broke down
” you answered, feeling your cheeks warm as he stared at you. “You wouldn’t happen to have the number for a tow truck would you?” Soohyuk nodded. “Yes, but it’s on a business card at home. Come on, you shouldn’t be out here alone like this, especially soaking wet.” “Oh, um...I don’t think--” you began to protest. Soohyuk opened the car door and offered you a hand. You grabbed your wallet and cellphone before letting him help you out of the car and lead you to his, which was facing in the direction you had come. “I live about five minutes from here,” Soohyuk explained as he started the car and turned on the heater. “We’ll call a tow when we get there. You can tell them where you stopped and it shouldn’t take long for them to get out here and find it.” You nodded and thanked him. The ride continued in silence, the only sounds being the rain and the hum of the car’s engine. Soohyuk reached over after a moment and pressed a button on the radio, but keeping the volume low. “The weatherman said it would continue raining the rest of night,” Soohyuk coughed out. You could tell this ride was just as awkward for him as it was for you. You gave a small hum in response, and the two of you fell silent again. It didn’t take much longer to reach Soohyuk’s home. It wasn’t a mansion, but it certainly wasn’t some cottage. The house was two stories and was surrounded by trees. A garage sat off to the side of the building, the driveway leading straight past the house to it. There was a large fountain that the pavement circled around and a set of stairs leading up to the front door. Soohyuk had parked as close to the steps as possible. “Wow,” you couldn’t help but whisper. “Yeah, it’s a little outrageous...but it’s home,” Soohyuk said. You turned to see Soohyuk leaning over the steering wheel and staring up at the house, almost mirroring you. There was a strange expression on his face that you couldn’t place, but it disappeared as soon as he noticed you looking at him. Soohyuk coughed and leaned back to take his seatbelt off and grab the umbrella. “Wait until I come around,” was all he said before getting out. Soohyuk led you through the house and into what looked like a study. The walls were lined with bookshelves and paintings. On one end of the room was a desk with a computer and several notebooks. On the other end near a fireplace was a coffee table surrounded by a sofa and two plush armchairs. “Wait here a minute,” Soohyuk said as soon as you entered the room. He left and walked down the hall, leaving you there alone. You began to browse the bookshelves, noticing that the books were split between fiction and nonfiction. About five minutes later, Soohyuk returned with a pile of clothes in his hands. “There’s a bathroom down the hall you can use. Get cleaned up and out of those soaking clothes. You can borrow some of mine. They’re old, but they’re clean and they might fit,” he said as he handed the pile to you. You looked from the clothes in your hand to Soohyuk and back. “I don’t want to impose, we can just call the tow truck and I’ll wait in the front
” Soohyuk shook his head. “You don’t want to catch a cold do you? Or get kidnapped by some psycho in the woods?” he asked, the same cheeky grin you had become accustomed to taking its usual place on his lips. You grinned back and replied, “How do I know you’re not some psycho in the woods? You have been following me this whole week.” Soohyuk threw back his head and laughed. He shook his head at you and waved toward the door. “Go change. There’s a fully stocked shower in there, too. Just leave any towels you use in the basket by the door. I’ll search for the number while you’re in there,” he said, still grinning. “Fourth door on the right.” You stepped past Soohyuk and turned down the hallway. You easily found the bathroom and locked the door behind you. You glanced in the mirror at your stringy, wet hair and found yourself glad that you never wore makeup when you had practice. Looking like a wet rat was bad enough, you didn’t want to look like a wet raccoon on top of it. Laughing to yourself, you set the clothes Soohyuk gave you on the counter, found a towel a towel, and began to undress. You stepped out of the bathroom twenty minutes later, your wet hair dampening the neck of the T-shirt Soohyuk lent you. You padded barefoot down the hall back to the study. Your shirt and shorts were in your hands, wrapped in a plastic bag you found under the sink. When you entered the study, Soohyuk was sitting in one of the chairs, a book in his lap. The sight of him like that with his guard down caused a fluttering in your stomach, one that you remembered getting every time he would smile at you during your run-ins. He looked up when he heard you come in and grinned. “See, isn’t that better?” he teased. “Yeah yeah,” you snorted. You walked over to the armchair across from him and curled up in it, setting the bag on the ground. “Did you find the number?” Soohyuk nodded and pointed to a card sitting on the coffee table. He bookmarked the book and set it on the table as well before steepling his fingers and staring at you. “What?” you asked as you shifted nervously. “Why aren’t you in the lead role?” You stared back at Soohyuk and answered, “Because I don’t have enough seniority for it. I’ve only been with this corps for about six months.” Soohyuk raised a brow, “But you’re an incredibly good dancer.” You felt your cheeks warm and shifted again. “Thanks,” you mumbled. “Mr. Lee--” “Soohyuk. Please, call me Soohyuk.” “Soohyuk,” you said softly, watching his eyes flash. “You’re usually not this nice to me
” It was Soohyuk’s turn to shift uncomfortably. “I’m, uh, sorry about that,” he started. “I just...I don’t know how to
” “How to
? Act kindly to a stranger?” you joked. Soohyuk snorted and shook his head. He opened his mouth a few times and his forehead scrunched as if he were trying to figure out how to speak. “Just say whatever it is you want to say,” you urged him. You made yourself comfortable while you waited for him to start. “I feel strange around you.” You stared at Soohyuk wide-eyed. “Well, that’s certainly not what I expected. Nor does it convince me that you’re not the psycho in the woods
” Soohyuk narrowed his eyes at you as you snickered and sighed. “What I mean is...when I’m around you, I get this funny feeling in my stomach. When I first saw you earlier this week at practice, my heart did a weird...jumpy thing
” “Jumpy thing?” you repeated with a grin. “Don’t make fun of me,” Soohyuk groaned. He rubbed his forehead in frustration. “I don’t know if I’m allergic to you, or what. Stop laughing! Anyway, being around you makes me feel like that, but it makes me feel oddly happy. I have never met anyone I’m like this around and it’s incredibly frustrating.” You tried your hardest to back bite a smile. “So that’s why you’re always so rude to me? Because I make you feel funny? What is this, a case of playground pigtail pulling?” “Pigtail...pulling?” You giggled at Soohyuk’s confused expression. “Nothing. Don’t worry about it, you weirdo.” Soohyuk looked affronted at being called weird, but just laughed it off. The two of you moved on in conversation, but your thoughts continuously returned to his confession. Did Soohyuk...have feelings for you? Over the course of the next half hour, you learned more than that about Soohyuk. Your conversation was like one long game of 20 Questions. You learned about what he liked to do besides the family business, and he learned why you loved to dance. You learned about each other's’ favorite foods, vacations, and so much more. You found yourself enjoying Soohyuk’s company, and you found that you did, in fact, like him. All of a sudden, there was a ruckus in the hallway. A woman threw open the study door and sauntered in. She was dressed in a dress suit and was towering in a pair of six-inch heels. She was in the middle of talking about some store when she caught sight of you and stopped short. “Who is she?” the woman asked pointing a finger at you. “Miyoung
” Soohyuk said, standing. “What are you...I didn’t think you’d be back until next Friday?” Miyoung looked at you again and her eyes widened a fraction. “Why is she in your clothes?!” Soohyuk raised his hands in a placating manner and stepped between the two of you. He explained that he had found you stranded in the road on the way home from a meeting. He told her that you were from the theatre and that you two had talked a few times, so he wanted to help you out. He made a point to mention that that was all that happened, and it seemed to calm Miyoung down a fraction. “That was sweet of you, darling. Would you do me a favour and take my bags up to the room? I’d hate to leave them out where anyone could trip,” Miyoung asked sweetly, batting her eyes. Soohyuk looked at you and apologized, “Sure, Miyoung. Sure. I’ll put them in the same room you stayed in before you left.” Miyoung smiled at Soohyuk and patted him on the cheek as he turned to leave. As soon as he left the room, she turned on you with a scowl. “Get out of that chair,” she ordered. You stood and stepped back, nearly tripping on your bag of wet clothes. Miyoung scoffed at you and shoved past. She leaned over the table and picked up the business card, reading each side carefully. “___, was it?” Miyoung asked, not really looking for an answer. She took a few steps in your direction and glared at you. “Do you know who I am?” “Sorry, no,” you replied. “I’m Soohyuk’s wife.” “Oh,” you replied, trying to hide your shock. “He didn’t mention having a wife.” Miyoung hummed in response, giving you a nasty smile. She nudged you out of the way, pushing you toward the middle of the room. Once you were out of the way, she leaned down and picked up your bag. She inspected the clothes before making a noise of disgust and throwing them at you. Miyoung walked over to you again and used a finger to pin the card against your shoulder. “I don’t care what you’re really here for, you little golddigger. You can sit in the rain for all I care. Get out of my house and away from my husband,” she sneered. You bit back the rising anger as you took the card from her and turned to leave. You pretended not to hear the insult she muttered and quickly left the room and made your way back to the foyer. Just as you grabbed the doorknob, you heard Soohyuk calling your name from the stairwell. You sniffled and straightened your back before turning to face him. He came down the remaining steps and rushed over to you. “Where are you going?” he asked, concern written over his face. “It’s still raining.” You shook your head. “I’ll be fine,” you said firmly. “I’ll call the tow truck on the way to my car, and wait there. I’ll try getting hold of my roommate again so that someone knows where I am. Thank you for all of your help, Mr. Lee.” Soohyuk’s brows shot up. “Mr. Lee? What happened to calling me Soohyuk? Seriously, ___, you can stay here until--” You cut him off. “No, I can’t. And you know what? You really should have mentioned that you have a wife before basically confessing that you have feelings for me.” Soohyuk’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off by a throat clearing. You both turned to see Miyoung at the hall entry with her arms crossed. She was glaring at the two of you and tapped her foot repeatedly. “Goodbye, Mr. Lee,” you said quietly before leaving the house. Once you were a few yards away, you began to cry. ~~~ A few more weeks of rehearsals passed and opening night finally arrived. You shared a dressing room with two other dancers, both supporting roles as well, but were currently alone as you were still getting ready. You hadn’t seen nor heard from Soohyuk since the night your car broke down, and you were partially glad. You weren’t sure you would be able to handle another confrontation with his wife. You stared into the mirror as you began to wonder if they’d both be in the audience during the performance. “Of course they will,” you said to yourself, “His family owns this place
” You were pulled out of your musings when a familiar knock sounded at the door. You slowly got up and made your way over to open the door, hoping that it wasn’t who you thought it was. “___...hi
” Soohyuk said. He stood on the other side of the door in a grey tailored suit with his arms behind his back. This wasn’t the haughty Soohyuk who would bother you after practice, but the real Soohyuk whom you had gotten to know in such a short time that night. “I, uh, wanted to see if I could catch you before the show to give you these. You mentioned that you liked daisies...” Soohyuk took a bouquet of beautiful multi-coloured daisies    from behind his back and held them out to you. You stared at them in shock as you took the flowers. “Mr. Lee--Soohyuk--you really shouldn’t ha--” “We’re getting divorced,” Soohyuk interrupted you. “Actually, I’m divorcing her. I’ve been trying to get her to sign the papers for almost two months now.” You gasped and grabbed Soohyuk’s arm to pull him into the dressing room. Once you closed the door and set the flowers on your vanity, you calmed your breathing and turned to face him. “You have five minutes. Explain.” “I’ve been trying to divorce Miyoung for weeks now. It’s something that’s been in motion since before I met you,” he began. “She’s been in Paris this whole time using it as an excuse to not sign the papers. It’s not even me she wants to stayed married to, it’s my family’s name and money. You met her, it can’t be that hard to realize. Anyway, I didn’t know she was coming back so early and I was planning to give her the papers and tell her to move out once she returned, so...you saw how well that plan worked out.” You nodded, but remained silent so that Soohyuk could get everything out. Soohyuk dropped into a chair with a heavy sigh and rubbed his face. “The woman’s a vampire, I’m telling you. I don’t know why I agreed to marry her in the first place. And when I heard what she did to you...I got so pissed. I kicked her out of the house.” “You what?!” you almost yelled. “Soohyuk, you kicked her out in that weather?!” Soohyuk shrugged, “Yeah, but it didn’t really stick. She didn’t leave that night, but the next afternoon instead. There was a lot of screaming and slamming doors all night long, from her I mean. But she agreed to sign the papers. We’re getting a divorce.” You nodded and leaned back against the table. “What does this have to do with me?” you asked quietly. Soohyuk leaned forward and set his elbows on his knees. He put his head in his hands and sighed again. “You were right that night,” he said as he lifted his head to look at you. “I did have feelings for you. I still do. These past few weeks have been hell not seeing you or talking to you. I don’t know if I love you, I’ve never actually been in love before...but there is something there. I want to see what it is. I want to be with you.” You nodded and moved to stand in front of Soohyuk. He sat back to give you room and stared up at you warily. “I’ll admit, I have missed talking to you and arguing with you,” you told him, crossing your arms. “But I will not date a married man. Shush. Ongoing divorce or not, until it’s finalize you are still married.” Soohyuk frowned and you could tell by the look in his eyes he was hurt. You leaned over and grabbed his hand. “But once the divorce is final...maybe...we could go out for dinner,” you said as you played with Soohyuk’s hand. You looked at him with a cheeky smile and winked. “If you don’t act too rudely, weirdo.”
