[Official] Lee Joon-gi's comeback drama "Again My Life" confirmed to premiere on April 8, following "Through the Darkness"

SBS has confirmed April 8 for the premiere date of the much-anticipated 2022 drama “Again My Life” and also released photos of the script reading, raising our expectations.

SBS’s upcoming Fri-Sat “Again My Life” will start airing following “Through the Darkness.” Based on the web novel of the same name by Lee Hae-nal, which already has a strong fan base, it is a revenge drama about a competent, hot-blooded prosecutor who gets a second chance at life to punish the evil.

Helmed by director Han Chul-soo (Graceful Family) and written by Kim Yup, the drama makes us excited to see a new prosecutor character who changes his own destiny using the second chance he’s given. Also worthy of note is that it has been adapted by director Lee Byung-hun (Extreme Job) and the cast is led by Lee Joon-gi (Kim Hee-woo) who has solid acting chops and an unparalleled presence, joined by Lee Kyung-young (Jo Tae-sup), Kim Ji-eun (Kim Hee-ah), Jung Sang-hoon (Lee Min-soo), Choi Kwang-il (Kim Seok-hoon), Cha Joo-young (Han Ji-hyun), and Kim Jae-kyung (Kim Han-mi) as well as veteran actor Lee Soon-jae (Woo Yong-soo) who makes a special appearance, heightening our expectations.

The photos of the script reading for "Again My Life" have also been released. The script reading was attended by director Han Chul-soo and main members of the cast, including Lee Joon-gi, Lee Kyung-young, Kim Ji-eun, Choi Kwang-il, Cha Joo-young, Kim Jae-kyung, Lee Soon-jae, Hong Bi-ra (Kim Gyu-ri), Park Chul-min (Hee-woo's father), Kim Hee-jung (Hee-woo's mother), and Kim Hyung-mook (Jang Il-hyun), marking their first time working together.

As the title "Again My Life" suggests, the script reading room was filled with thrill and satisfaction that comes from the perfect delivery of justice by this hot-blooded prosecutor who gets another chance at life after suffering a wrongful death. Also, during their performances, these charismatic seasoned actors, wheter they're in the main or supporting roles, created tension just by reading their lines, sending our expectations skyrocketing as "Again My Life" will turn the script into spectacular scenes.

Above all, the passionate performances by the actors who got completely immersed in their roles are making us excited for the heated battle of the characters. Lee Joon-gi, in particular, made the drama look more engrossing by utilizing his solid acting skills to perfectly read for his role Kim Hee-woo, a prosecutor who allows no compromise when it comes to law and justice, returns to his early 20s when given his second chance, and continues to grow and evolve. The script reading also made us anticipate the "master-student" chemistry between Lee Joon-gi and Lee Soon-jae, "supportive chemistry" between Lee Joon-gi and Kim Ji-eun, and the hostility between Lee Joon-gi and Lee Kyung-young, who generated a spark and spine-chilling chemistry just by looking at each other.

Following the script reading, Lee Joon-gi shared how fulfilling it was: "I was so excited about working on this entertaining drama called Again My Life that I could not sleep well the day before. It feels so great to get excited about making a great drama with such great actors." Kim Ji-eun also shared her thoughts on the successful script reading: "I am so pleased and excited to work alongside so many seonbae and hubae actors."

Những người thừa kế tài sản của Chủ tịch Samsung có thể sử dụng cổ tức và tài sản cá nhân để nộp số thuế khổng lồ trong 5 năm.

Theo Bloomberg Billionaires Index, trước khi qua đời, Chủ tịch Samsung Lee Kun-hee sở hữu khối tài sản trị giá khoảng 20,7 tỷ USD, phần lớn là cổ phần tại 4 công ty con của Samsung. Với mức thuế được áp dụng tại Hàn Quốc lên đến 60% cho cổ phần thừa kế của cổ đông lớn, 50% cho bất động sản và các tài sản khác, gia đình Lee có thể phải nộp khoảng 10 tỷ USD tiền thuế thừa kế.

CEO Chung Sun-sup của hãng nghiên cứu Chaebul cho rằng, những người thừa kế tại Samsung có thể không bán cổ phiếu để lấy tiền nộp thuế. Hôm 26/10, nhiều nguồn tin đồn đoán rằng các doanh nghiệp họ Samsung sẽ tăng cổ tức để giúp gia đình này có thêm tiền nộp thuế.

Đây cũng là cách Koo Kwang-mo, người thừa kế LG Group năm 2018 đang làm sau khi cha ông mất. Koo và các thành viên gia đình đang trả khoảng 921,5 tỷ won (817 triệu USD) tiền thuế thừa kế trong 5 năm.

Samsung từ chối bình luận về kế hoạch nộp thuế và chia tài sản của gia đình Lee. Tập đoàn này chỉ cho biết "tất cả thuế liên quan đến thừa kế sẽ được thanh toán minh bạch, đúng pháp luật".

Lee Kun-hee sở hữu 4% cổ phần tại Samsung Electronics - hãng sản xuất smartphone, TV và chip nhớ lớn nhất thế giới. Ngoài ra, ông còn nắm 21% cổ phần tại Samsung Life Insurance.

Chuyên gia phân tích Jongwoo Yoo tại Korea Investment & Securities cho rằng, nếu thừa kế toàn bộ cổ phần của cha mình tại Samsung Electronics và Samsung Life Insurance, Lee Jae-yong có thể dùng cổ tức và tiền của các thành viên trong gia đình để nộp thuế.

Lee sở hữu chưa đến 1% cổ phần Samsung Electronics, nhưng đã thông qua liên doanh để sở hữu 17% cổ phần Samsung C&T – công ty nắm trực tiếp 5% cổ phần Samsung Electronics.

Lee Jae-yong đang chờ phán quyết cuối cùng của tòa về một vụ án hối lộ khiến ông phải ngồi tù năm 2017. Đồng thời, ông cũng phải đối mặt với một phiên tòa khác liên quan đến các cáo buộc gian lận tài chính, bao gồm thao túng giá cổ phiếu để tạo điều kiện cho việc kế vị. The release of Samsung’s boss leaves South Koreans exasperated

“INNOCENT if rich, guilty if poor” is a well-known adage in South Korea. It has been trending anew on social media since February 5th, when Lee Jae-yong, the vice-chairman of Samsung Electronics, was released from prison. The 49-year-old heir to South Korea’s biggest chaebol, or family-run conglomerate, had been found guilty of bribing a former president, Park Geun-hye, and her confidante, Choi Soon-sil. But Mr Lee’s initial five-year prison sentence was cut in half and suspended by an appeals court, allowing him to walk free after 353 days in jail. Other executives were also released on suspended sentences.

The ruling largely upheld Mr Lee’s insistence that he had been coerced by Ms Park into handing over the bribe. Prosecutors had charged him with paying 43bn won ($38m), which included buying horses for Ms Choi’s daughter and various donations to her sports foundations. In the end, only use of the horses was recognised as bribery, slashing the sum to 3.6bn won. Although Mr Lee had benefited generally from giving the money, the judge said, there was insufficient evidence to prove an exchange of favours. Mr Lee’s supporters say the public should consider the lack of evidence, and note that those with means have no less right to fair treatment.

Nevertheless, Korea-watchers say the sentencing looks familiar. “It’s déjà-vu,” says Chung Sun-sup of Chaebul.com, a chaebol watchdog. Five-year prison terms that are reduced by appeal courts to a roughly three-year suspended sentence are so common in chaebol cases that they are called the “3.5 rule”. Beneficiaries have included executives from Hyundai and Korean Air, and Mr Lee’s father, Lee Kun-hee, chairman of Samsung, who was incapacitated by a heart attack in 2014. In 2009 he was pardoned while serving time for evading taxes and embezzlement. (This week South Korean police said the elder Lee would face new charges of tax evasion.)

New sentencing guidelines had helped to mitigate the courts’ seeming soft spot for the chaebol in recent years, notes Choi Han-soo of the Korea Institute of Public Finance, a government-sponsored think-tank. Like many others, he had hoped that the Samsung trial would finally end the “too big to jail” mentality. The suspended sentence surprised even some legal experts. “It’s definitely a lenient ruling,” says Kim Kwang-bum of The Ssam, a South Korean law firm. Mr Choi calculates that between 2010 and 2014, 77% of chaebol plaintiffs were released on suspended sentences at the appeals stage, compared with only 64% of ordinary corporate criminals.

In the past, kinder treatment has often been justified by pointing to the economic might of the chaebol (Samsung alone accounts for one-fifth of South Korea’s exports). That defence is wearing thin. Samsung has been thriving without Mr Lee. A global semiconductor boom led it to post record profits in 2017, and last month the company announced its first stock split.

Outside the courts, the mood is unforgiving. An online petition calling for an investigation into the bias of the judge gained 212,000 signatures in three days. That would threaten the independence of the judiciary, says Mr Choi, “but you can see why citizens are angry”. They must now trust Moon Jae-in, the left-leaning president, who has vowed to stop collusion between corporates and politicians.

A final judgment is still to be made at the Supreme Court, where Mr Lee’s fate could take yet another turn. But his release leaves many convinced that the old ways persist. In 2009 the elder Lee got his pardon to help secure South Korea’s bid for the Winter Olympics. Less than a decade later, in the very week that the Games start, his son has also walked free.

On March 9 (Wed), SBS has unveiled new stills showing the pyramid of power in the clique ("inner circle of evil") led by Jo Tae-sup (Lee Kyung-young), Kim Hee-woo's (Lee Joon-gi) nemesis and a powerful politician. On March 4, the team behind SBS's upcoming Fri-Sat drama "Again My LIfe" has unveiled a tension-filled teaser poster showing the overwhelming presence of Lee Joon-gi (Kim Hee-woo).
