Ok, ok. Hear me out. Can you imagine? Getting fucked slowly by Lee Abbott. Your back to his hairy chest. One of his hands squeezing your mouth shut, the other gripping your hip tight so he's able to move you back while he thrust forward, deep and strong. His veiny dick wet and slippery with your juices that just wouldn't stop dripping all around his lenght to his balls, and he can't for god's sake groan or grunt because if so, he'll condemn your fates to the death angels. It's a fucking torture, it's dangerous, but it feels so good. He can't help himself. Neither can you.
And god, can we talk about how big and broad he is? How strong? My size kink is off the charts right now, I'm so fucked.

Pairings- Black!OC x Abbott Elementary Cast, later Black!OC x Manny (Can be read as x Reader though!)
Summary- Pilot Episode Experience with Naoya Lovel
Warnings- Swearing, kids, mixed race reader( those arenât warnings really, just what to expect)
JazzieâsNotes!- let me know what you guys think!! Iâve been really obsessed with Abbott Elementary recently and Iâm contemplating if I want to write S1&S2 just to get to the Manny season. I want to get there fast but I know what wonât be possible with two seasons worth of writing. Let me know what you guys think I should do.
Word Count- 6,358
âOkay, so you wouldn't put the number on the bottom because that's what?â The older woman asked, drawing out her words as she stood in front of her fourth-grade class, pointing at the whiteboard behind her with her yardstick.
âThe denominator.â The class answered.
âCorrect, and what do we call the one on top?â
âThe numerator.â
âYes! You guys are killing this lesson.â She smiled as she placed her hands on her hips. She caught the camera crew in the corner of her eyes and then turned to them. âOr should I say Iâm killing this lesson?â She smirked, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she posed. It was silent for a moment as they all watched her just smile.
âWouldnât you agree?â Sheâs asked, looking at one of the guys behind the camera. He nodded, moving the camera along with him, causing her to smile and adjust her glasses. âWhy, thank you.â
âHello! My name is Naoya Lovel. Pronounced Now-Ya, itâs Japanese because Iâm half Japanese. Donât ask why Iâm half Japanese in Philly, itâs a long story.â She sighed as she shook her head.
âWell, actually, let me tell you the story because itâs actually kind of crazy.â She chuckled, starting to explain, but it then cut to another clip of her in the class.
âMs.Lovel, we ran out of paper towels.â A student said, standing in front of her desk with paint on the palms of his hands. Noaya looked up, at him, a slight frown on her face. âOhh, okay, well I have some in my desk.â She started, pulling open her desk drawer. The camera angled down to catch the empty towel box staring back at her. She smirked up at them awkwardly and shrugged her shoulders. âWhat, I have a constant runny nose.â
âAs a teacher, you teach kids how to solve problems while solving your own. In your personal life and at school. And in this school, there are a lot.â
âMs.Lovel, I need paper towels too.â Another student said, showing her blue and pink palms to her teacher. Noaya then stood from her seat, looking around her room. âOkay, okay class. Give me one sec.â She said, nervously looking around her room to solve her paper towel problem. She the. Saw a stray beach towel near the window on her small bookshelf. âOh! Here we are, guys.â She said, rushing over to the towel and snatching it up.
âThis could be a lesson too.â She smiled excitedly and grabbed a pair of large scissors from her desk. âI probably shouldnât have these just sitting out.â She mumbled to herself, giving the camera a sideways glance. âSo class, this is going to be a hands-on moment. If there are almost thirty of you, how many pieces would I need to cut this into for you guys to share?â She asked, looking at all of them. There was a moment before anyone said anything, the kids thinking over their answer. Then, some of their hands shot up. Naoya flashed the cameras behind her a quick smile before turning back to the kids.
âNoaya, Jacob, and I came in last year with 20 other teachers. Weâre three of the four left soâŚtrauma bonding, I guess?â Janine said, in regards to the other girl.
âYeah, I taught for two years before I got here, I transferred from Addington to here because those people are a bunch of stuck-up freaks who are just in it for a little extra on their check.â She said with a smirk. âAnd thatâs not what Iâm here for, Iâm here to change lives.â She boated, folding her arms.
ďżź
âHey, Melissa, can you please tell âTa-Nehisi Quotesâ here that âwhite boyâ is a term of endearment from the corner store people?â Janie said as she walked into the break room on the second floor.
âOoh, cheese steaks?â Naoya questioned as she looked up from her papers, knowing the full situation after only hearing the words âwhite boyâ and âcorner storeâ.â
âFor Zach Ertz, yeah.â Melissa started, turning around with a fresh cup of coffee in her hands. âFor him. Itâs an insult.â She smirked, then paused at the sight of the cameras in her face.
âWell, you guys, I need a new rug. Mine is officially done.â Janie said.â Coming take a seat right next to the working woman.
âMhmm! Me too.â Jacob started, taking a seat on the other side of her. âI shook mine out and all the asthma kids had to go to the nurse's office.â This conversation caused her to raise her head, placing her work aside and adjusting her glasses as she listened.
âYeah, mineâs busted.â Melissa started. âAnd you canât class up a rug like you can a couch with a nice coat of plastic.â
âYou guys have rugs? All we have is a little mat.â Naoya started, looking between all of them. They all cringed at her words, but couldnât say more before someoneâs loud voice cut through the air.
âHey-yo! What it does, baby-boo?â Ava yelled as she walked into the break room and over to where they were sitting. âWhat yall think about this little film crew I bought in here.â
âDistracting makes our jobs harder,â Melissa said disinterestedly, shooting the crew a glare.
âI wish I would have known this was going to be a video thing, I would have made myself look better,â Naoya mumbled, causing the camera to turn her way. She smiled, making her face appear happier than usual.
âBut exciting. We about to be on TV.â Ava said, looking between them all.
âBecause they are covering underfunded, loosely managed, public schools in America.â Barbra interrupted in a matter-of-fact tone.
âNo press is bad press, Barb.â Ava practically disregarded the womanâs claim, continuing to smile at the camera. âLook at Mel Gibson. Still thriving.â She laughed. â âDaddyâs Home 2â? Hilarious!â She looked around the room, either expecting people to laugh with or or just so confined in her large ego that she didnât care if they laughed or not.
âAvaâs the worst person I know,â Noaya stated. âIâve never seen her show an ounce of care about anything other than money. Which is a terrible mindset to have as a principal because youâre literally in the brokeest position of power.â
âThere you are.â Ms.Schwartz sighed as she rushed into the room, spotting Ava. âAva, can I talk to you?â The woman was out of breath as she stood before the principal, and her attire was disheveled. âI-I need an aid. Iâm outnumbered there. The kids are crazy.â She ranted this wild look in her eyes. âOne of the kids told me to âmind my sixâ this morning, I donât know what that means! I need help!â She ranted. Ava placed and hand on her shoulder.
âCalm down.â The darker woman said, cutting Ms. Schwartz off. âTheyâre just kids. And, besides, aids cost money, and we donât have that.â She said before flashing a quick smile at the cameras. âRight, but I justââ Ms. Schwartz started again.
âDo you want to split your salary with somebody else?â Ava asked, leaning closer and angling both of them away from the cameras.
âNo.â The other woman said dejected.
âNo!â Ava cut her off before she could continue to rant. âNo, I didnât think so.â
âWell, if we canât get aides, maybe we can get new rugs?â Janine chimed up, standing from her seat.
âAll Iâm hearing is ânew, new, new, need, need, need,â Ava answered. âAnd yet, Barb, one of our best and most senior teachers here.â She continued, walking over to the older woman who sat at the table with Melissa and drank her coffee. âShe never complains. What is your secret, Barb?â
âKnowing thereâs not much you can do, Ava.â The woman said with a sarcastic smile. But Ava didnât care to hear her condescending tone.
âSo understanding.â The principal smiled, looking around the room. âBe like Ms.Howard, people.â That was all she said before she left the room.
Noaya shook her head as she started to collect her things, knowing the bell would be ringing anytime soon.
âBut, Iâm not Ms.Howard.â Ms.Schwartz cried from where she stood.
âOhh, Tina, look.â Janine started, walking over to the stressed woman. âTry some counting exercises, between one and forty the kids start to quiet down.â The other woman gave a slight nod before she exited the room, still in obvious distress. âYou, know, a little support might help make things happen, ladies,â Janie said, turning around to face the older two women in the room.
âMy support was gonna do about as much as that five-year-old bra youâve got on right there,â Barbra said as she pushed in her chair. The camera then cuts to Naoya staring at the camera, her jaw clenched. Janine looked down at her chest for a slip second, before covering it up with her sweater and deciding to ignore the womanâs bra statement. âHey, itâs not impossible to get things. Melissa asked for those new toy cash registers for her classroom and got them.â
âYeah, those arenât toys.â The Italian woman stared as she put on her coat. âI know a guy who wired a Walmart demolition. I got a guy for everything. I know a guy right now working on the stadium build. Need rebar?â She asked, looking around the room.
Noya just shook her head.
âNo,â Janine answered.
âMelissa is resourceful, capable.â Ms. Howard started, looking between all the younger teachers. Naoyaâshead jerked back at what she was insinuating but before she could say anything, Janine placed a hand on her shoulder and started talking.
âWell, I think the younger teachers are capable.â
âReally? Then why is it that Ms.Schwartzâs hair is falling out? Why does Jacob here need a smoking break every five minutes?â The woman sassed, gesturing over to the male beside her.
âI switched to an herbal vape.â He tried to defend himself.
âAnd why canât any of you stick it out longer than two years? More turnovers than a bakery.â She hissed before her and Melissa walked out of the door. Once it shut behind them, Naoya turned to her friends beside her.
âI almost lose my job every day dealing with the people here.â She shook her head, resting her butt on the table behind her, the other two following suit.
âYou know what? Hell, I think we should still try for rugs.â Jacobâs said.
âYeah.â Janine agreed.
âYou know, before I taught here, I was in Zimbabwe.â Jacob started, causing Noaya to stand up completely and begin to walk to the door. âI was going Teachers Without Boarders, and what I learnedâ.â
âJacob.â Noaya cut in, turning to face the two of them. âWhat did we say you about, like, not talking about your time in Africa?â She said, gesturing between her and Janine. The boy stuttered, trying to come up with an appropriate answer.
âWe told you to stop. Yeah, itâs weird.â Janine finished, looking over at the male.
âI have an immense amount of respect for my elders, including the ones I work with.â Naoya smiled at the cameras. âBut Mrs.Howard has a smart mouth on her. A mouth that has never been directed at me.â She continued to smile, although strained, and raised her hands in mock defense. âBut the day it is the day I got to prison.â And although she was finished, she was cut off by the sound of quick hurried footsteps making their way around the corner. She turned around just in time to catch Janine with a student.
âNoaya, come quick, thereâs a fight.â The older woman got out as best as she could, although out of breath. Naoya ran around the corner, practically leaving the child and shirt woman in the dust.
âDamn, sheâs fast,â Janine said, briefing glancing at the kids next to her before rushing to follow the running woman.
âWhat the hell is going on here?â Naoya yelled as she entered the hectic scene with a bat in her hands. She saw the crazed look the teachers were giving her and she shrugged. âI heard there was a fight, I brought it just in case.â
âWhere did you get that? I was right behind you.â Janie asked, out of breath with her hands on her knees.
âI didnât know she had it in her like that.â Melissa nodded a proud smirk on her lips. âI like her.â
âThatâs beside the point, what happened?â Naoya asked, looking at the older white woman standing in front of a child. âHe hit me first!â Ms.Schwartz said, pointing at the boy across from her.
âLiar!â The boy yelled back at her, being held back by Ms.Howard.
âIâm a liar? I'M A LIAR?â Ms.Schwartz asked a crazed look in her eyes, her gaze solely trained on the little boy.
âI canât believe she hit a kid,â Noaya said, shock written all over her face as she folded her arms. âI mean, I threaten that I will but I never actually do it.â She shrugged.
âOkay!â Ava yelled, interrupting the conversation between the small group of teachers. âSo, not good. Ms.Schwartz was out of line and clearly didnât know how to handle her class.â The woman sighed.
âYou hired her.â Melissa spat back.
âAnd fired her,â Ava responded. âThey give me a lot of power around here. Itâs crazy.â The woman smirked.
Melissa and Noaya both gave the camera a look of disbelief.
âIn the meantime, Mr.Johnson will be watching her class.â Ava finished.
âMr.Johnson the janitor?â Naoya spoke up. âOur conspiracy theorist janitor? Teaching social studies? Do we not see the problem with this?â She asked, looking around at the group.
âI think maybe we should alert the school district to this,â Jacob spoke up, getting spins of approval from the rest. âI mean, a child was harmed.â He tried to finish before Ava cut in.
âHey! Harmed?â She questioned. âI handled this. No need to let them know that a child was harmed on my waââ She stopped, remembering that she was being recorded, and looked towards the camera. âOn the school's watch, to be clear.â She clarified.
âAva, this is not handled,â Janine spoke up. âThere is a 70-year-old custodian who voted for Kanye teaching social studies right now.â The woman stressed, pointing down the hall. âWe need help. Look, I know we donât have any moneyââ
âOkay!â Ava cut her off. âAlright. Iâll make a small emergency budget request to the district, and then you guys can get pencils and hire aides or whatever else you need.â
âSo, even rugs?â Janine asked her entire demeanor from earlier changing at the womanâs words.
âSure! Just email a request.â Ava replied.
âOkay! I can- I can write an email.â Janine smiled excitedly.â
âAnother day in principal life.â Ava smiled at the cameras before walking away, horribly singing some old song. âI believe the children are our future.â
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âUmâŚHello?â An unfamiliar voice called out as she came into the school building, making their way to stand in front of the desk. âIâm looking for Ms.Coleman.â The man said. Melissa looked up at him. âOh, yeah sheâsââ She was cut off by Ava rushing up next to her.
âHello.â Again said flirtatiously, looking the man up and down.
âHi, Iâm Gregory Eddie. Iâm the sun for the teacher who, uhâŚâ He trailed off, looking down at the papers he pulled from his briefcase. âPinter a student.â The man said worriedly, looking back up at her.
âOh! Youâre the sub.â Ava said. âForgive me, I thought one of my colleagues here hired a stripper for me.â Ava laughed off, dismissing the looks Melissa and Barbra gave her. âOkay.â That was all Gregory could say to that, giving the woman obvious judgmental looks.
âNice to meet you, young man.â Barbra offered him a kind smile.
âYeah, nice to meet you, Ryan,â Melissa said, staring at the together papers.
âItâs Gregory.â
âEh, letâs see how long youâll be here.â She said, only flexing up after she was done stapling. âThen Iâll remember your name. Okay, Tim?â
Gregory didnât even have time to fully digest the interactions he just had with the women before him before Jacob came around the corner. âYes!â He smiled, stalking up to the man. âMy dude.â He said, arms open for some sort of hug but was cut short by Gregory putting his hand out. âOh, yeah,â Jacob said, placing his hand on the one offered out to him. âKeeping it profesh. I like that.â He smiled, leaning against the counter. âIâm Jacob. Itâs nice to see another male teacher in here. Itâs not a lot of us. Hey, now I got somebody to talk sports with. You like womenâs tennis?â The paler man asked, before shooting the camera a sideways glance. âOr, as I call it, you know, regular tennis.â
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
Naoya was walking the halls, whistling a tune with her bad over her shoulders when she came across a tall, good-looking man in a gray sweater. Hearing her, the man turned around to see a tall, light-skinned woman with a large, light brown puff ponytail at the back of her head. She had on specs that covered most of her face, enlarging her eyes. She was dressed in a slightly baggy pair of dark wash denim jeans with brown shoes that matched the brown in her green sweater, paired with a white shirt underneath. Seeing the mysterious man, she furrowed her brows at him from down the hall.
âUh, hello.â The man waved awkwardly from down the hall.
Naoya waved back as she made her way closer to the man. âUh, hi. Are you lost?â She asked, slowing down when she got in front of him. âIn a school building?âŚAnd smelling like pee and/or vomit. Iâm calling security.â She started to back up and pull out her phone, or even yell before she stopped and frowned. âOh wait, I am security.â She said, moving her bat to her good hand getting ready to swing.
âWait!â The man yelled, sticking out his hands in defense. âIâm a sub! Iâm here to fill in for the woman who kicked the kid.â He defended.
Naoya visibly relaxed as she looked the man up and down, taking in his formal attire. âOkay.â She said, dropping her defensive pose. âThat still doesnât explain the smell.â She said, giving the man a disgusted once over. Gregory stuttered to get an answer, embarrassed by the cameras and such an awkward situation in front of another beautiful woman.
âItâs a long story. A broken toilet, a student wet his pants, another one threw up.â The man shrugged, a look of disgust crossing his face as he thought it all over. At his words, Noaya nodded with a look of understanding.
âNo, yeah. I get it. Well, um, congratulations on being here consideringâŚâ She trailed off, gesturing around the school and then to him. âIf you need anything at all, Iâm at the very end of the hall. I'm Naoya Lovel, and I teach fourth grade. Iâll be here to help any way I can, I am known for having everything anyone might ever need, so.â She shrugged and began walking away, pat him, and to her class. The man nodded, a sliver of a smile on his face as his eyes stayed trained on the spot she just left. Catching the camera out of the corner of his eye, she quickly straightened up and then turned the opposite way to face her. âMay I ask why youâre carrying a bat?â He asked.
Naoya stopped walking, the bad still in her hand as she angled her body slightly to look back at him. âNo, you may not.â She said with a smile before continuing to walk away and into her classroom. Gregory just nodded and walked into his room as well.
âToday was utterly disgusting, but she and Janine seem nice.â He smiled slightly.
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âI got a good feeling about this,â Jacob smirked at Naoya and Janine as they and the rest of the teachers gathered outside at the entrance of the school. It had something to do with Ava needing them to see the improvements she made to the school. âRight? Me too!â Janine said excitedly. Naoya rolled her eyes, stuffing her hands in her pockets due to the cold weather.
âI wish I could live in the blissful ignorance you guys call optimism.â She said, looking between her two friends. They only rolled their eyes at the girl, who was usually a pessimistic person, so they didnât take her words too seriously.
âGood morning!â Ava said to all the teachers before her, who were obviously in no good mood. âGood Morning!â Janine was the only one to respond.
âGregory.â Ava finished, giving the man a look. Noaya furrowed her brows slightly, throwing the man a sideways glance.
âThe district was so moved by my plea that they approved the emergency budget and sent us the money right away,â Ava said to the group. The crowd started clapping, Jacob and Janine were genuinely happy while most were in shock that the district pulled through.
âOkay, we could have hired aides, we could have got rugs.â Ava continued as the clapping died down. âBut then I thought, âNo. We need something more immediate.â She said, her words causing Naoya to nod her head as she began slowly making her way away from the group. She knew this wasnât going to end well, and this was her stopping herself from throwing her loafers at Avaâs head.
âOh, no, no. The rugs are immediate.â Janie spoke up. âTheyâre like instant Xanax for kids. I explained it all in my email.â She told the group as she made her way to extract her phone from her purse.
âGirl, who told you to send an email?â Ava asked, looking down the steps at the shorter woman. Jannie stopped what she was doing and glared at Ava. âYou did.â She hissed, looking at her confused.
âAnyways, I always feel better when I get my hair done.â Ava continued, not caring for what Janine had to say, as she showed off her new blonde number. âThus, I do better work, like Iâm doing now.â She smiled at them. âYou know, fix the outside, the inside takes care of itself.â She then gestured up to the giant tarp over the building, the man pulling it down to show a sign.
It was a giant Willard R. Abbott Elementary sign with Ava on it, leaning onto the letters. The teachers just stood there and looked up at the sign, no words were said between any of them. But they all had the same thought.
What the fuck?
âYall seeing this?â Ava asked, copying her pose that was on the sign.
âA plastic sign?â Janine asked, looking between the woman and the sign.
âThank God for the school district, because they gave us $3,000 and I had to spend all of it.â Ava said as if she didnât care about the severity of the words she just said.
âYou spent all of the money on this?!â Janie asked in disbelief.
âRush job, can you believe this quality?â The terrible principal continued.
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âThis is fucking ridiculous, she has gone too far,â Naoya said as she, Jacob, Janine, and Gregory rushed back into the school.
âSomebody needs to do something before I get my bat back out. Actually, Forget the bat, Iâm gonna go get a guâ.â
âOkay! Yes.â Jacob cut her off, trying to ignore the scared look Noaya received from Janine and Gregory, while she just continued to sit in her anger, not even seeing them. âSomebody, anybody but you, should do something.â The man said to the angry woman.
âYou know what. Iâm gonna do something.â Janine said, as stored up and Naoya. Well, maybe not as much but still fired up.
âOkay, alright. Whatever you do, I will co-sign it.â Jacob encouraged. âYes!â Janine said. âThat is how change works. Someone does something and somebody co-signs it.â He finished.
âI want Jannie to succeed in what her plan is because Ava needs to be out in her place, âprofessionallyâ, or whatever Jacob said,â Naoya stated, rolling her eyes. âBut I also want her to prove something to Barb. For her sake. Because Janine really needs a mother figure in her life and the constant groveling for Barbâs praise is starting to make me want to choke.â She finished with a shrug. âThatâs my girl though, I love her.â
âHey, you two, wait up! Iâm going out to lunch too.â Janie called out to Melissa and Bard as they walked down the hall. The camera caught Naoya, who rolled her eyes at the situation she was just talking about making an appearance as she walked after Janine.
âOh yeah, where are you going for lunch pip-squeak? Bird feeder?â Melissa joked, putting her purse over her shoulder.
âThought youâd be working on your next miracle from Saint Ava.â Barbra pushed.
âHa ha, No.â The shorter woman defended herself. âI donât think Iâll need anything from Ava ever again.â Janine smiled, her words causing the other three women to look confused.
âWhat does that mean?â Naoya chimed in from behind them, ready to go out for lunch as well.
âWell, I emailed the superintendent and told him everything Ava has done today. No way she doesnât get fired.â Janie bragged.
âOh, for the lives of God.â Melissa groaned.
âJanine,â Noaya said in disappointment. âThis is why I told you to tell me.â
âWhat?â She asked, looking between the three women.
âThe superintendent never sees our emails,â Barbra told her. âHe has them bounced back to the person in charge of where they came from.â
âWait, Iâm sorry.â Janie stared. âPerson in charge? That means the emails go back toâŚâ She trailed off, the dots connecting. Just in time for said person to come in the intercom with an announcement.
âTeachers, itâs come to my attention that some of youâone of youâ.â Ava clarified, looking through the glass of her office at the group of women standing at the door, her eyes trained on one in particular. âThink itâs okay to go over my head. So, during lunch breakâthis lunch breakâweâll be having a trait workshop so that we can learn how to become a woke family.â The woman was clearly pissed off, glaring at Janine from where she sat. âItâs gonna be fun!â
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âWe are at a crossroads, this is a crisis,â Ava stressed as she stood before the hired group of teachers.
âNo, a crisis is eating the cafeteria pizza for lunch.â Naoya chimed in from where she sat in the back.
âUh, why are we here, exactly?â Gregory asked his seat right in front of hers.
âWell, chocolate drop.â Ava started, causing Naoya to snicker at the name. âI learned that someone here doesnât respect me. But itâs not about me. Because if you donât respect me, how can you respect this school?â She continued, causing them all to look at her confused as such a stupid correlation. But, it looks like Ava took that as a look of confusion due to her question.
âYou canât. Itâs mathematically impossible.â She finished.
âW-Whoa. Who doesnât respect you, AvaâI mean, the school?â Jacob asked.
âMe,â Naoya said but seemed to be completely ignored.
âItâs not important. Weâre gonna make this a group matter so as too not to single any one person out.â The woman answered him. âLetâs try an excuse where we say whatever we want out loud to each other, no matter how critical. Itâll be fun, letâs start with Janine.â She said, looking over at the short woman who was practically shrinking in on herself.
âJanine?â She asked, smirking evilly.
âYes?â Janine asked dejectedly, knowing that this whole situation was her fault and knowing that Ava did the exact thing she said she didnât want to. Single her out.
âYouâre pushy, squeaky and annoying,â Ava stated.
Collective disagreement was heated around the room.
âExcuse me?â Melissa piped up.
âThaya justâŚâ Gregory said.
âWhen is it my turn?â Naoya asked, starting to take her earring out of her ear.
âNo, itâs not bad. No.â Ava defended. âWeâre shaking to make us all better. Constructive. Hershey kiss, why donât you try, start with Janine.â She pushed.
âI donât want to.â The man sighed.
âYouâre right, it should be someone who knows her better. Noaya, Jacob, Barbra?â She asked, looking between the two.
âWhen is it your turn? I wanna go when itâs your turn.â Naoya stated, folding her arms to keep herself at bay. Gregory glanced back, seeing the look of pure hatred on her face.
âWell, her hair isââ Jacob started before getting cut off.
âNot!â Noaya and Barba said at the same time, the younger more so talking to her friend next to Janine, who gave the man next to her a look of disbelief.
âAva, no oneâs doing this to anyone.â Melissa started, looking at the woman before her.
âHold on, I came prepared for this. Sheena, come on in.â Ava said, looking behind her to a student who was sitting behind the library desk.
âAva, that is my student, she should be at lunch right now,â Janine complained, as everyone in the room looked at the little girl, trying to see what Ava's plan was.
âI am kinda hungry.â The little girl sighed, begrudgingly walking closer to the woman.
âSheena, remember what we talked about? What was the thing that you wished was different about Ms.Teagues?â Ava asked the little girl. She just stood there, not knowing what to say as the whole room waited on her.
âShe got some big feet.â Mr.Johnson chimed in from the very back of the childrenâs library where he was sweeping.
âOkay.â Janine sighed before standing from her seat. âEveryone, thatâs enough. I am the person who disrespected Ava. I emailed the superintendent to tell him that she spent the school's money on a sign.â
âAnd got her hair done,â Naoya said, Janine, gesturing over to her in agreement.
âIâm sorry, Ava.â She continued. âAnd Iâm sorry everyone missed lunch, especially you, Sheena. But I didnât it because I care about the kids in this school, and that shouldnât be a bad thing.â She ranted. âIâOkay. You know what.â She sighed, done talking. She felt as if no one was listening anyway and just wanted to leave. She was on her way out before turning back around. âSheena, you should have this. Iâm sorry.â She said, handing the school pizza over to the girl.
âUh, no thank you.â The girl said, shaking her head. Janine just sighed again and turned to leave.
Ava chuckled as she watched the girl walk off, shaking her head. âNot a compelling speaker.â She smirked as she shook her head. âCharisma vacuum, am I right?â
Noaya cracked her neck as she stood up. The teachers in front of her filmed a little at the sound and her sudden movements. But she ignored that. âYou know what, Ava? I was going to whoop your ass in the parking lot, and as much satisfaction as that would bring me, I donât want to lose my job. Because I care about these kids. Just like Janine. And she may be a lot of things, like naive, a bit clingy and too cheerfulâ.â
âOoh, this is good stuff, let me call her back in here,â Ava smirked as if she didnât hear the first part of the girlsâ speech.
âBut she is also right.â Barba cut in, standing up with Naoya. âYou know, actually wanting to help the children at this school shouldnât be a bag thing.â The older woman finished for her. Afterwards, both her and Naoya walked out, letting Ava sit with their words.
They walked out to find the girl in front of her classroom, looking through the window. âJanine, ignore Ava. Big feet are a sign of fertility.â Barbra stated.
âIâm telling you to just give me the signal, I can have her framed for murâsomething.â The light skinned girl said, catching herself in front of the cameras.
âEvery lunch period, guys.â Was all Janine said before stepping out of their way to show the inside of her class. They both looked in seeing a little boy napping on his jacket, as the library door sounded again. âEvery single one, Amir comes and naps in the rug.â She said, informing the whole group as Melissa, Jacob and Gregory joined.
âMm-hmm. He was in my class.â Barbra said with a fond smile on her face. Momâs got a lot of kids. Dadâs not around and when she is, the parents fight.â
âRight, so he doesnât get much sleep. I told him to sleep at his desk, but she says that rug is softerâ.â The shirt woman paused, trying to get emotional over the whole situation. âSofter than his bed at home.â There was a moment of silence as all the adults sat with her words. Itâs hard hearing about the life of the kids you see everyday, knowing they live lives no one should. And knowing itâs on you to create a better life for them at school.
âYou know what? I donât care I you think Iâm good at this or not anymore. I care about whether or not I can make a change.â Janine told Barbra as sternly as she could, which wasnât a lot.
âJanine.â The woman started. âTeachers at a school like Abbottâ we have to be able to do it all. We are admin, we are social workers, we are therapists, we are second parents. Hell, sometimes weâre even first.â
âMm-hmm.â Melissa agreed.
âWhy?â Barbra continued. âIt sure ainât the money.â
âYup. I can make more working the street, easy.â Melissa chimed in. Causing Jacob and Naoya to look at each other in concern.
âProstitution?â She mouthed over to the man, who shrugged.
âLook, we do this âcause weâre supposed to.â Melissa said to Janine. âItâs a calling. You answered.â
They all looked at eachother fondly, before Jacob started.
âI believe it was Brother Cornel Westââ
âNo.â
âDonât.â
âNot right now, white boy.â
They all told him, causing the man to retreat back to his corner.
âYou want to know my secret?â Barbra asked, ringing the subject back to where it was. âDo everything you can for your kids.â She smiled. âWeâll help. Hey, I suggest we put our money together and buy Janine the rug.â The older woman encouraged. âWhat yall think?â
âAbsolutely.â Melissa said, pulling out her wallet.
âGuys, you canât.â Janine started, looking between them. âYou donât have it. I know because I have the same salary as you and I overdrafted on a doughnut hole this morning.â
âDonât tell me how much money I have.â Noaya stated, holding her hand out as a halt to the girl's words. âI do not claim that broke energy.â
âWell, why are you gonna do?â Barbra asked. âSteal a rug?â
âNot me, but I know a guy who knows a guy?â Janie trailed off, looking between Noaya and Melissa. The light skinned girl raised her hands. âI donât know a cute guy that can steal that many carpets that fast.â She shrugged, a hopeless look on her face as she glanced at Melissa.
âWay ahead of you.â The woman said as she started typing into her phone. âIâm gonna have to bake a ziti.â She said, holding the phone up to her ear. âHey, Tony, ya big strung, listen, you still working that stabiuk build?â She said into the device as she walked away from the group.
Sometime later, a guys pulled up in a truck around back with a bunch of rugs for them. They all celebrated, going one by one to grab a rug. âYay! I finally have one! My room was so depressing.â Naoya said as she waked down the hall with her rug.
âYouâre on a mission.â Gregory stated, looking at the shorter girl in between him and Noaya. âItâs cool to see.â
âThank you. Just a day in the life of being a teacher here. You get used to it.â Janine smiled.
âAnd that smell in the walls?â He asked, pointing.
âOh no, youâre never gonna get used to that. Sometimes I wish I had a bad nose like Naoya.â She joked, elbowing the girl next to her. The taller woman lightly groaned. âJanine, you know thatâs a big insecurity of mine. I have a fear of smelling bad.â The half Japanese girl tried to clarify to the male. âYouâre subbing to go full time right?â She asked, wanting to change the subject.
âUm, weâll see.â He said as they all briefly stopped in the hallway. âThis job definitely surprises me.â
âWell, I hope you stay.â Janine said. âFor the kids.â She clarified. Naoya shot a quick glacĂŠ to the camera, a small smirk on her face. She then decided to walk away. The camera caught Gregoryâs eyes jumping from both women walking away, a small smile on his face. He then looked in the camera and dropped his expression.
âIâll stick around for a while.â He said. âYou know, for the kids.â
âLook guys!â Naoya said as she rolled out her shakes rug for her students. They all celebrated, clapping excitedly at the fact that they had a rug now.
âMs.Lovel, I hate the egales.â One student said, standing next to the woman.
âYeah, me too, kid. But donât tell anyone I said that.â She said, patting the top of their head as Ava walked past her door. She paused at the sight of the rugs. Naoya placed her hands on her hips and cocked her neck, making Ava glare at the woman for a quick second before walking away.
âAnd that kids, is how you get rid of the enemy without fighting.â She said, pointing around the room to make sure they were watching. âNow that we have a rug, letâs watch that nature documentary!â She said excitedly, causing all the students to yell with excitement well.

#59. âYou⌠find this attractive?â

Melissa walked out of her bedroom and down the stairs, waiting by the door.
âAre you ready, âhun?â The redhead called out to you in the kitchen.
âYea coming!!â You called back.
You popped out of the kitchen, finishing putting on your shoes with a smile. Your jaw nearly dropped at the sight of Melissa. She and you were going to a PA education gala. And Melissa was wearing a long, fitting, dark green dress. You gulped and blushed slightly at the sight of the woman, coming up to her ready to go.
âYou look⌠really goodâŚâ you breathed out the compliment.
Melissa looked away and blushed lightly.
She never could take a compliment.
âOh hush now, weâre going to be lateâŚ!â The older woman exclaimed, dramatically dragging you out of the house.
The gala itself was a little boring. The only thing redeeming was the free alcohol and getting to see Melissa all dressed up and sexy. The redhead could feel your gaze on you all night.
Later on, as Melissa and you, arms linked were making your rounds to her colleagues. You eventually reached Barbara, one of Melissaâs closest teacher friends.
âY/N, it is lovely to finally meet you, my dear!â Barbara exclaimed, taking you into a quick embrace, then pulling an older man into the conversation, âMelissa, Y/N, this is my husband.â
You all exchanged pleasantries, before Barbara began asking about you and Melissa.
âYes, I am so lucky to be able to call this attractive woman my girlfriendâŚ!â You exclaimed, squeezing Melissaâs arm in emphasis.
Melissas entire face practically went red at your comment, and she was quick to grab another drink to hide her reddened face. She cheekily nipped your side in retaliation, making you squeak.
After you and her had made all the rounds, the two of you sat at your table and shared a moment.
âHey âHunâŚ?â Melissa spoke.
âYea?â You chirped, looking at your redhead girlfriend.
âYou⌠find this attractive?â She asked, your comment obviously still sticking out in her mind.
You gasped lightly at Melissaâs sudden vulnerable and insecure tone. It sounded like she was about to cry. You immediately took her hand in yours and squeezed it reassuringly.
âOf course I find you attractive, Baby⌠You are beautiful.â You comfort the woman.
Melissa then looked over to you with slightly watery eyes.
âYou really mean thatâŚ?â She said in a cracked, wobbly tone.
Your heart nearly broke at the sight. You knew that Melissa hadnât ever been loved and cared for properly, but it never ceased to make you distraught at how she wasnât used to love and care and concern.
You took a deep breath and then got up. Melissa looked at you in question and confusion.
âCome on, Letâs go, MelâŚâ you hum under your breath.
âI⌠I donât understandâŚâ Melissa stammered, as you lead her by the hand out of the gala.
âBaby, we said our rounds to everybody, no one will think twice if we leave. And⌠thereâs something I need to do.â You explain, hooking your arm around Melissaâs and leading her out into the cold night.
The drive home was fairly silent, you kept your right hand reassuringly wrapped around Melissaâs hands while you drove. You got home, and you had Melissa come sit with you on the living room couch. You placed a hand on your back and comforted the woman.
âWhat⌠what do you need to doâŚ?â Melissa asked, recalling your comment as you had insisted on leaving the gala.
You turned to Melissa with a smile, then getting up and kneeling in front of the womanâs closed legs. Melissa breath caught in her throat, and she looked at you in question.
âI⌠w-whatâŚ?â She stammered, as you took her hands in her lap and comforted her.
You looked up at the woman with love and care in your gaze.
âIt has come to my attention that you need to be reminded why you are so beautiful and attractive⌠and why you deserve to be showered with love.â You hum, bringing her hands to your lips and beginning to kiss each knuckle, one at a time.
Melissa blushed and turned her head to look away. You immediately stopped all your administrations.
âNuh uh⌠look at me, amoreâŚâ you purr in insistence.
Melissaâs gaze bashfully turned back to you, her face reddened once more.
âGood girl, thank you, babyâŚâ you hummed in praise, kissing her knuckles one by one once more.
Melissa watched your every move with growing and darkening pupils.
âGod your hands are perfectâŚâ you purred, as you began to kiss parts of her palms, âNot only do you use them everyday to help and educate your kids at school, but theyâre so sexyâŚâ you husked.
Melissa gulped and her mouth partially opened to speak (most likely to refute your compliments), but a firm cock of an eyebrow from you made Melissa sit in her flustered state and accept the praise.
Your kisses migrated to the redheads wrists and lower arms. You took even more time with each affectionate kiss, suck, and bite, leaving a few marks along the way.
âYour arms⌠are so strong and gorgeousâŚâ you cooed lovingly, slowly moving from her left arm to her right, âYou always hold up the weight of the world on them⌠But sometimes, itâs better to let people help you carry the weight, amoreâŚâ
Your kisses moved to her upper arms, and Melissa in response, instinctually opened her legs wide for you. You smirked and slotted yourself still on your knees, in between her legs, so that you were right up against the couch with your chest. Melissaâs heart and cunt flutter in tandem at your closeness.
Once you were satisfied with the arm kisses, you stood up and gave the woman your hand. She took it in curiosity and stood up.
âYour dress⌠The way it clings to your curves⌠the way the green accentuates your hair and eyesâŚâ you hum, running your hands up and down the garment and her figure, âYou look stunning, babyâŚâ
Shivers run up and down Melissaâs spine. You then gently helped her out for the dress, letting it pool on the ground, before guiding Melissa to sit back on the couch.
You knelt back in between her legs, then proceeding to take her heels off. You kissed her feet, toe by toe, making sure to make eye contact with Melissa after each little suck, nibble, and kiss.
âYour feet⌠theyâve taken you so far in life⌠youâve accomplished so muchâŚâ you purr, âAnd maybe one day, youâll step on me with themâŚâ
You said that last bit with a wink before moving on to kiss and suck along her legs and up to her knees, one leg at a time. Melissa nearly choked on her own breath from your words and wink. She hated to admit it, but all your praise was melting her heart. And making her wetâŚ
You kissed and marked her legs up to her thighs, now on your standing knees looking up at Melissa.
âYour legs are precious⌠Also so strong, like the rest of you⌠They always look so pretty crushing my headâŚâ you cooe cheekily, smirking at the end.
You spread her legs even further, before leaning down and starting to caress and love on her thighs. Melissas eyes fluttered and her mouth went silently open, as your hot mouthed kisses went towards her inner thighs, closer and closer to her core.
âYour thighs⌠theyâre so thick and marvelous⌠love how they bounce when you walk⌠love how they suffocate meâŚâ you husk.
Melissa had gotten the message. Her face was burning red and she was riled up enough. One of her hands snaked into your hair and tried to silently guide you or her core, implying how badly she needed you.
But you waved her off with ease, not done making your point. While one hand held her thighs open, your other snaked around the back of her neck. You looked up to the red head, guiding her to lean down toward you with your hand on her neck. You stared at the woman with unadulterated lust in your eyes and parted lips. Her gaze was now unabashedly meeting yours, filled with lust and joy.
You leaned forward and connected your lips to hers. Your lips intermingled with hers in a light, loving, yet passion filled kiss. But you pulled away much too soon to Melissaâs dismay, leaving her whimpering at the loss of contact.
âYour lips are better than perfection⌠theyâre soft and plump⌠and so deliciousâŚâ you cooed lustfully into the redheads ear, âAnd your voice⌠God, I think I could cum from it aloneâŚâ you groaned out.
âEnough Cucciolina.â Melissa breathed out, her tone low, sultry, and filled with lust.
Your breath hitched at the pet name, and you bit your lip, awaiting the womanâs next words eagerly. Melissa then guided your head back down to her cunt. She gazed down upon you on your knees, her eyes dark and dominating, now believing in her power thanks to your praise and showing her.
âI keep hearing all this talk about how attractive you find meâŚâ she purred, âThatâs all talk⌠Why donât yaâ show me, CucciolaâŚ?â
Your eyes widened and you blushed slightly. Her hand then urged you face first into her clothed clit and you happily teased the woman through the thin material. You groaned, quickly taking your hand from her neck and scrambling to remove her panties. Melissa shifted her hips upward, and you quickly removed the lousy excuse for underwear, throwing it aside.
âYouâre so beautifulâŚâ you groaned, as you caught sight of the womanâs gleaming, slick pussy, before diving into her cunt and making Melissaâs head loll back with a moan.

Petition to start paying my fellow writers to put out fan fictions. Writing is some peopleâs life and they rely on it to make a living. We all go through it mentally and need breaks, people who demand any type of fic just give me the ick. Yâall boycotted Netflix and any network that pushed your fave shows months ago, whereâs that energy for the other writers like here on Tumblr, Archive of Our Own, Wattpad and any other site people use to put their work out there????
I donât care if this comes off as cruel but you are not entitled to fanfiction. You are not entitled to podfics. You are not entitled to translated works.
Creators are not paid to make fanworks. People spend years of their lives writing fic and getting nothing in return except positive interactions. You can ask to make a translation. You can ask to make a pod fic. But you cannot demand it.
And because the only thing fanfic writers get in return for their work is positive feedback, taking away an authors ability to receive that is disgusting. Authors deserve to have full control and ownership of their works.
Fanfic isnât a product to consume and then demand more of. Authors and creators deserve better.

A/N: Here's the Lee part to this anon's other request! I took a while going back and forth with this because I wanted to focuse on how Lee's personality affects everybody, and readers relationship/how you fit into that and in turn have effected him. There's a few Gamby sister requests similar to this going around, so I wanted to do something different but still follow the request. I hope you enjoy! Iâd love to know what you all think to this, and feel free to send me more requests đ
The lunchroom was alive with a vibrant cacophony of voices and the rhythmic clatter of trays, the air thick and rich with the mingled aromas of cafeteria offeringsâovercooked vegetables, processed meats, and the ever-present scent of reheated pizza. Fluorescent lights flickered slightly overhead, casting a harsh glow over the busy scene. Teachers gathered in their usual enclaves, finding solace and camaraderie amidst the relentless pace of school life. At the corner table, under a particularly noisy air vent, a spirited discussion took place, the latest school gossip providing a welcome escape from the relentless mountains of essays to grade and detailed lesson plans to refine.
Ms. Abbott, always the central figure in these lunchtime exchanges, leaned forward with a knowing smile, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Don't look now, but here comes Tweedle-Dee," she whispered, her voice a blend of amusement and mock secrecy. Her comment ignited a ripple of subdued laughter that spread through the group. Eager heads turned discreetly, their curiosity piqued, all wanting a glimpse of the person who had become the unwitting protagonist of Ms. Abbottâs playful narrative.
Approaching with a brisk, almost frantic stride was Lee Russell. His attire, a meticulously tailored suit paired with gleaming shoes, barely concealed the unmistakable tension he carried. Since his promotion to principal, Russell had swiftly gained the unfortunate distinction of being the least favoured among the faculty. His unpredictable and often heavy-handed leadership style had alienated many.Â
"He must be lost without Tweedle-Dum," Ms. Abbott remarked, her voice laced with a sharp edge of sarcasm.
Seychelle, always ready to add drama to any conversation, pounced on the opportunity. "He and Gamby were so far up each other's asses they could tickle each other's tonsils," he declared, his smirk broadening as he theatrically adjusted his silk scarf, draping it back over his shoulder. The group burst into laughter, a sound filled with both genuine amusement and a cathartic release from their collective disdain. "I heard he's returning soon, so maybe it will put his boyfriend in a better mood," Seychelle added, his tone dripping with irony.
As the laughter reverberated around the table, a sudden hush descended when you cleared your throatâa soft yet unmistakable signal of a presence they had momentarily forgotten. Seychelle, caught mid-chuckle, turned as the directed gazes of his colleagues guided him to meet your eyes. Seated right beside him, you were struggling to suppress your own mirth.
"Oh, sorry, Miss Gamby," Seychelle stuttered, his usual confidence slipping as he managed an apologetic smile.
You nodded, acknowledging his apology while your mind briefly wandered to your brother, Neal, and his infamous collaboration with Lee Russell. Together, they had orchestrated a reign filled with both mischief and mismanagement, becoming the stuff of legend at North Jackson High School. Now, with Neal's absence, Russell appeared more adrift than everâan observation that had not escaped the keen, sometimes merciless eyes of the faculty.
"It's fine," you said reassuringly, prodding the homemade leftovers in your container with a fork. "My brother's an asshole, but Lee Russell is the fucking devil."
The group chuckled, the tension melting away as they eased back into their conversations. You let out a sigh, then heard the distinct click of Prada shoes on the linoleum and the wafting, fruity scent of cologneâsignals of the principalâs approach. Setting down your fork, you looked up just in time to see Lee Russell stop beside your table. "Speak of the devil, and he shall appear," you quipped with a tight smile.
Lee ignored the light-hearted jab, his eyes narrowing as he scrutinized your lunch. "What the fuck is that?" he demanded, pointing at your container. "Is this what poor people eat?" His words cut through the resumed chatter, casting a silence over the table.
You rolled your eyes, your gaze taking in his perfectly tailored suit and meticulously styled hairâthe stark contrast between his polished appearance and his coarse behaviour never failed to amaze you. "I don't know, Lee," you retorted, your voice mocking. "You pay my wages, so you tell me."
Russell's eyes flashed with irritation as a sneer formed on his lips. "Maybe if you spent less time eating garbage like a fuckin' pig and more time doing your job, we wouldn't have so many problems," he snapped.
Taking a moment, you looked around the cafeteria, observing the other teachers quietly watching the exchange, the rambunctious students that ignored it, then turned your weary gaze back to him. "It's lunchtime, Lee. Even school staff need to eat," you stated flatly, emphasizing the obvious.
Ms. Abbott's snigger echoed across the table, momentarily lightening the atmosphere until Lee's sharp glare silenced her amusement. Ignoring her, he leaned forward, pressing his knuckles against the table and fixing his gaze on you with an intensity that felt almost tangible. "Since when did you become so goddamn fuckin' familiar? It's Principal Russell to you," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "And it's lunchtime when I say it's lunchtime. You get your ass in my office and finish writing that grant proposal that was due this morning, or you'll be so fuckin' fired that dogshit will seem like a Michelin star recipe to you. Understood?"
You met his stare unflinchingly, the tension at the table palpable. You knew the importance of picking your battles, especially under the watchful eyes of your colleagues. "Understood, Principal Russell," you responded, your voice calm and measured.
Lee's smug expression deepened as he surveyed the now quiet group. "Good," he spat out, his tone dripping with contempt, pleased with his perceived control over the situation.
Mrs. Deets, unable to contain her dismay, addressed him directly, her voice filled with concern and a hint of defiance. "Don't you think you're being unfair, Russell?" she asked, her eyes flicking briefly to you in sympathy. "You've been loading Miss Gamby with extra work for weeks, and now you're disrupting her lunch break," she continued, her expression frustrated.
Her intervention brought a momentary pause, the air thick as everyone awaited Russell's response, wondering whether it would temper his approach or incite further harshness.
Lee's eyes hardened, turning towards Mrs. Deets with a menacing glint. "And what are you going to do? Report me to HR?" he taunted, his voice thick with arrogance. "I'd like to see you try. They're all in my pocket, just like you should be." His eyes narrowed as he scanned the table, issuing a silent challenge to anyone daring to contest his authority. The table fell silent under his gaze.
With a final sneer, he turned on his heel and strode away, the authoritative click of his polished shoes echoing ominously through the lunchroom. The oppressive atmosphere lingered for a moment before gradually dissipating, leaving displeasure behind but also a sense of unity among the faculty. They exchanged looks that communicated a shared resolve; something would need to change, but carefully and strategically, to avoid the fallout of a direct confrontation with a man who held too much power and too little regard for others.
Gathering your things, you stood and glanced around at the sympathetic faces of your fellow teachers. "Just another day at North Jackson," you remarked, trying to lighten the mood. You gave Mrs. Deets a grateful nod for her support. "Thanks for trying, Val," you added sincerely. Then, with a resigned breath, you turned and headed towards Lee's office, your mind already strategizing for the confrontation ahead and the careful navigation it would require.
Rounding the reception desk, you greeted Miss Swift with a nod, your eyes briefly scanning toward the office behind her. The blinds were tightly drawn, and the muffled sound of Russell's frustrated rant seeped through the closed door. Miss Swift met your gaze with a look of caution. "He's just got back," she whispered, her tone hushed. "He's been in a real bad mood all day. Made me cancel all his appointments and said he was going to tell Superintendent Haas toâwell, it wasn't very nice."
You offered her a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry, Janice. You know he's always got a stick up his butt about something," you reassured her, your casual words drawing a reluctant smile from her. "You go have some lunch. I've got this." With a confident nod, you prepared yourself and approached the door to Russell's office, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
Lee Russell's voice was sharp as he commanded you to close the door, his tone betraying the strain of the day. As you shut the door behind you, the office felt suffocatingly small, filled with the tension that seemed to emanate from the man hunched over his desk.
Standing a respectable distance away, you maintained a neutral tone, despite the stress in the air. "You wanted to see me, Principal Russell?" you asked, watching as he slowly lifted his face from his hands, revealing a weary expression that briefly flickered to surprise, perhaps not expecting your calm demeanour. You waited, poised for his response, ready to discuss the grant proposal or whatever else he deemed urgent enough to interrupt your lunch. Deep down, you understood the true reason for this meeting, yet you couldn't deny the thrill it added to the encounter when you pretended otherwise.
"I don't have time for your smart-ass remarks today," he grumbled, slumping back into his chair with his legs spread wide. He shot you a pitiful glance, his face etched with frustration. "Everything's falling apart, and you're too busy cozying up to my damn enemies to be of any help." His voice was a blend of desperation and resentment, the anger he had shown earlier in the cafeteria now reduced to a needy whine.
You shook your head, unable to suppress a smile at his dramatics as you circled his desk, perching on its edge right in front of him. "They're my colleagues, Leeâyour staffâand we need to keep things normal without you losing it and threatening me in front of everyone in the cafeteria," you said calmly, fully aware that it would take more to alleviate his irritation as he rolled his eyes.
"Losing it?" He scoffed, fixing you with a pointed look. "You've seen nothing yet. I'd line them all up and send them packing one by one, like a damn firing squad execution. The faculty are a massive pain in my ass; they're all fucking replaceable." His words were sharp and icy, each one a dagger designed to intimidate and belittleâsomething he excelled at.
The harshness of his tone left no doubt about his contempt for his colleagues, his disregard for their contributions painfully clear. This wasn't the first time you had heard such sentiments from himâit was merely the latest in a series of similar tirades. Lee had fought his way to the position of principal with a tenacity and fierceness that appeared limitless. His impulsive nature and propensity to act without thinking through the consequences often left you as the one trying to reel him back from the brink, attempting to mitigate the fallout of his decisions before they escalated into full-blown crises.
Lee's relentless ambition had fostered a toxic atmosphere, one rife with fear and uncertainty. Each time he went into a downward spiral, the responsibility fell on you to curb his impulsive decisions and soften the impact. The stress and exhaustion were evident on your colleagues' faces, their morale dwindling under Lee's oppressive leadership. You had cautioned him that maintaining friendships would be challenging once he held power over others, but he had dismissed your concerns, preoccupied instead with choosing the ideal carpet colour for his opulent new office. His priorities, it seemed, were focused more on appearances than on the well-being of his staff.
"Oh, really? And what will you do with nine hundred students and no one to teach them?" you questioned, going along with his rant. A bemused smile played at the corners of your lips, reflecting both amusement and scepticism at his drastic solutions.
"I'd hire new ones, ones who actually listen and respect me. Start fresh, a clean slate without those fuckin' assholes," he replied, his determination evident in the firm set of his jaw. When you laughed, he nudged your leg gently with his knee, showing a rare moment of playfulness amidst his tirade. "Might keep you, though," he mumbled, his tone softening slightly.
"Really? I thought I was the first on your list to go," you teased, your eyes twinkling with mischief. "Wasn't there something about firing me? Something about dogshit tasting good?"
He rolled his eyes again, his frustration melting into a reluctant smile. He scooted his chair closer to you and leaned forward, his fingers absentmindedly playing with the hem of your skirt. "I didn't mean it," he murmured, his voice low and tinged with regret. It seemed as if the gravity of his own words had caught him off guard.
Apologies from him were rare, like the fleeting glimpses of vulnerability he feared showing, lest they be exploited. His public outbursts had intensified since your brother's absence, leaving you to bear the brunt of his sharp tongue. The weight of his words felt heavier, cutting deeper as if to compensate for the missing target. Meanwhile, the staff's insubordination had increased, emboldened by the shifting dynamics.
Despite your frequent reminders that the tough façade wasn't as necessary without Neal around, Lee remained resolute in his approach. His determination to show the faculty that you were just another annoyance, merely another Gamby sibling he had to tolerate, was unwavering. He carried himself with an air of cold authority, a mask firmly in place to shield any sign of weakness, even if it meant pushing you further away.
Yet, you found yourself falling for him during every stolen moment in his office. Each encounter, hidden from the prying eyes of the world, unveiled the layers beneath his hardened exterior. The soft whispers, the fleeting touches, and the rare, unguarded smiles slowly revealed a side of him that was vulnerable and aching. Over time, you convinced yourself that Lee Russell was a deeply flawed man whom you could fix.
You watched his hand as it slipped beneath the hem of your skirt, tracing a gentle path along your thigh. You halted his advance by placing your hand over his, confronting his surprised look with a firm gaze of your own. "That's not how this works," you asserted clearly.
He let out a dramatic sigh and reclined in his chair, eyes shifting upwards to the stained ceiling tiles. "Do we have to go through this every time?" he asked, his voice laced with an unmistakable air of arrogance as he nudged his chair to swivel slightly with his feet.
"If you want to fuck me, then yes, we absolutely do," you responded, your tone flat and matter-of-fact. Your hands clutched the edges of the desk tightly, ready for whatever might follow. Observing him closely, you noted the visible struggle on his face as he prepared to speak, a battle of emotions that ended with him throwing his hands up in evident annoyance.
"Fine, fuck," he sighed, "I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry that you made me shout at you," he mumbled, leaning forward in his chair and placing his hands on your knees. "There, are you happy now, you fucking cretin?" His gaze bore into yours with an intense mixture of annoyance and something deeper, something almost vulnerable. His eyes searched yours, seeking a reaction, a connection, while his rough words contrasted sharply with the tenderness of his touch.
You smiled down at him, a hint of satisfaction playing on your lips as your resolve waned. Casually, you draped both legs over the sides of his chair, your feet resting on either side of his legs. The room seemed to close in around you, the tension thick in the air as you held his gaze, challenging him silently while his hands remained on your knees..
Lee smirked, his eyes darkening with desire as he pushed your skirt higher up your thighs until it bunched at your waist, exposing more of your skin to the cool air. He hummed in appreciation at the sight of your panties, the fabric already darkening with the wetness that the tease of his fingers drew from you. The air between you seemed to crackle with electricity, the raw hunger evident in his eyes making your heart race and your breath hitch. His hands, resting back on your knees, gripped a little tighter, the possessiveness in his touch sending shivers down your spine.
Your skin prickled under his touch as he trailed soft kisses along your legs, from the inside of your knee to your thigh, until the curve of his nose pressed deliciously against your heat. You gasped, your hips involuntarily seeking more pressure from him, but he pulled back slightly, his eyes locking onto yours with a predatory gleam.
He sat back, his gaze intense as his hand slid up your inner thigh. Two fingers hooked behind the fabric of your underwear, swiping through your slick folds, sending a jolt of pleasure through you. You moaned as both fingers pressed against your entrance, the sensation electrifying. Lee's other hand pushed at your knee, spreading your legs wider, ensuring you were perfectly displayed for him.
His eyes roamed over you hungrily, the anticipation building as you felt the heat of his desire in his touch. Every sensation amplified, your body responding eagerly to his every move, you gasped into the silence of the room when his fingers finally filled you, buried to the knuckle, as he began to pump them in and out at an agonizingly slow pace. You leaned back against the desk on your elbows, head thrown back in pleasure, rutting your hips against him to encourage a faster speed.Â
Suddenly, you felt a sharp thwack against the fat of your thigh, his hand coming down hard and grabbing at the tender flesh. "Stay still. Don't be so fuckin' impatient, damn," he scolded, his voice a low growl, the command making your throat burn. The sting of his slap mingled with the pleasure from his fingers, heightening your arousal as you lifted your head to look at him. His eyes bore into yours, a dominance there that made your pulse race even faster. The room seemed to spin as you struggled to obey, your body craving more even as you tried to remain still under his intense scrutiny.
"Maybe I should fire you. Can't take a simple instruction, can you? What use are you to me?" he taunted, his words cutting through you in a deliciously cruel way. The sting of his tone only deepened your need, a twisted thrill running through you at his harsh command. His fingers continued their slow, torturous rhythm, and you fought to keep still, every fibre of your being wanting to both submit to and defy him.
You bit your tongue, staring up at the office ceiling. There was so much you wanted to say, but you knew it would only lead to arguments and, ultimately, not getting what you craved. So, you stayed silent. Instead, you adjusted yourself, laying your back flat against the desk and wriggling slightly when a stapler dug into your hip.
Once you settled, you slid one hand down your body until you reached the bunched-up skirt. Hooking two fingers around your panties, you pulled them aside to give him better access. The rush of cool, air-conditioned air hitting your hot pussy sent a shiver up your spine as you bared yourself completely to him. You watched his reaction, noting the way his eyes clouded, his breath catching slightly at the sight of you exposed and vulnerable before him.
The desk felt cold and hard beneath you, a stark contrast to the heat building between your legs. Every nerve in your body tingled with anticipation, the raw need to be touched and filled consuming your thoughts. The only sounds the hum of the air conditioner and the ragged breathing shared between you. You could feel his gaze like a physical touch, every second of his hesitation adding to the delicious torment.
As you lay there, fully exposed and waiting for his next move, your heart pounded in your chest. The thrill with Lee was always in the battle of wills, the way you both enjoyed the shifting power dynamic. Each moment was a tantalizing dance of dominance and submission, need and restraint.
You knew the hold you had over him, a card you kept close to your chest and only played when necessary. Yet, you loved watching him fall apart for you. His tough exterior and harsh words melted away in these intimate moments, revealing a vulnerability that was yours to command.
You could see the internal struggle on his face, the conflict between his need to dominate and the pleasure he derived from you taking what you wanted. It was a delicate balance, one you both played to perfection. As he finally leaned in, his fingers resuming their slow, torturous rhythm, you couldn't help but smile, knowing that in this intricate dance, you held the upper hand.
His nose to your pussy, he breathed you in deeply, his fingers moving with deliberate slowness. You arched your back slightly, simultaneously grinding down onto his fingers and pressing into the bridge of his nose, your own breath coming in shallow gasps. The world outside ceased to exist, the only reality the intense connection between you two.
His hand tightened on your thigh, a silent command for you to stay still, but the gleam in his eyes as he looked up at you told you he relished your defiance. The raw desire in his gaze, the possessiveness of his touch, everything about this moment was intoxicating. As his fingers continued their relentless teasing, you felt the tension building, the delicious anticipation of what was to come.
Lee groaned at the sight of you, soaking wet and dripping just for him. Ever since his first taste, he couldn't get enough. He had lost his mind when you came on his tongue for the first time, practically riding his face to get the pressure exactly where you needed it. Lee loved that you used him for your own pleasure and revelled in using you for his, only to go about his day as if he hadnât just had you bent over his desk and buried himself deep inside you.
His fingers quickened their pace, sliding in and out of you with practiced ease, each movement eliciting a soft moan from your lips. He watched you intently, his eyes dark with lust as you ran one hand over the swell of your breasts, pinching your nipple through the thin fabric of your blouse just hard enough to send a jolt down to your core. The scent of your arousal filled the air, mingling with the faint smell of your perfume and the cigarette that he had moments before approaching you in the cafeteria, creating an intoxicating blend that drove him wild.
"You like this, don't you?" he muttered, his voice low and rough. "Being spread out on my desk, ready for me to take you whenever I want."
You responded with a gasp, your hips lifting to meet his hand, craving more of the exquisite friction he provided. His other hand gripped your thigh tightly, his thumb brushing against your sensitive skin, adding to the whirlwind of sensations overwhelming you.
It excited him, made him hard when he thought about how no one knew what you let him do to you, and how they couldnât do anything about it even if they did find out. The secrecy added a tantalizing edge to every encounter, an illicit thrill that made his pulse quicken.
The added twist of your brother, although messier, made it even more exhilarating. The rivalry with Neal meant that fucking you felt like a personal victory over the Vice Principal. Each time he had you, it was as if he was asserting his dominance, winning a private battle that only he understood.
Lee loved to win, and every stolen moment with you was a triumph. The thrill of conquest and the raw, unrestrained passion between you made his blood sing, fuelling his desire and solidifying his need to claim you again and again.
Sometimes, after coming down from your post-coital rendezvous in his office or under the bleachers, Lee would think that perhaps he didn't only love to win, but maybe loved you too. In those quiet moments, when the heat of passion had cooled and reality seeped back in, he felt a flicker of something deeper. Then, he'd light a cigarette, the sharp scent of tobacco filling the air, and shake his head, reminding himself that there were only three things he truly cared for in lifeâpower, secrecy, and reputation.
You played a significant role in all of these. Your illicit encounters fuelled his sense of control, the thrill of secrecy added spice to his otherwise calculated life, and maintaining his pristine reputation meant everything to him, which he couldn't do without your cooperation. But no matter how good your pussy felt, he couldn't let you overshadow his priorities. He repeated this in his mind like a mantra as he leant forward, and licked a hot stripe up the expanse of you with the flat of his tongue.
"Lee," you mewled, the hand not on your breast moving to tangle in his frosted tips as he hooked your legs over his shoulder. His mouth was hot on you again, his tongue flicking back and forth as it lapped up the juices weeping from where his fingers were fucking into you. The sensation was electric, sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body.
His fingers moved in a steady rhythm, matching the pace of his tongue, driving you closer to the edge with every stroke as you muffled his moans. Your hips bucked involuntarily, seeking more of his touch, and he responded by pressing deeper, his growl vibrating against your sensitive skin.
Every nerve in your body was alight, the pleasure building to an almost unbearable peak. His grip on your thigh tightened, holding you in place as he continued his relentless assault on your senses. The combination of his fingers and tongue was driving you wild, your moans growing louder as you teetered on the brink of ecstasy.
When his nose nudged your sensitive nub, you cried out into the room. "Shut the fuck up," he hissed, his mouth leaving you but his fingers continuing their relentless assault. Whispered apologies fell from your lips as you writhed against the desk. He dipped his head again, wrapping his lips around your clit and sucking hard.
You felt him smirk against you, fully aware that what he was doing made it nearly impossible for you to stay quiet. The pressure of his mouth and the skilful movement of his fingers pushed you to the edge, each sensation amplified by the need to stifle your sounds.
Your whispered apologies turned to desperate pleas as he curled his fingers inside you, stroking with precision. You keened at the pleasure, rolling your hips to seek it again and again, your body completely at his mercy.
"That's it, baby," he murmured, his voice a mix of command and encouragement. He alternated between sucking and licking your clit, his tongue moving in perfect rhythm with his fingers as they worked you open. The sensations were overwhelming, each stroke and flick sending you spiralling closer to your climax.
Your body responded eagerly, muscles tensing and releasing as waves of pleasure threatened to course through you. "Ride my face," he murmured against you, the vibrations of his voice adding to the intensity as his nails dug into your thigh, not holding you still this time but instead encouraging you to grind against him. "Go on, you know I want it. Don't hold back." His words were both a challenge and an invitation, urging you to take what you needed without hesitation.
With a few final, desperate rolls of your hips, you surrendered to the building pleasure, letting it crash over you in powerful bursts. Your climax tore through you, leaving you breathless and trembling, the room echoing with the sounds of your release. Your body convulsed, your swollen cunt clenching around his fingers and soaking them with a gush of juices that seeped down to the desk below.
Lee worked quickly, lapping up every bit of your release from you as the last of the shockwaves wracked your limp body. He kissed and nipped lightly at your thighs before drawing back to take your hands in his, pulling you up like a rag doll to sit before him. You slumped forward, resting your hands on his shoulders as he captured your lips in a heated kiss.
You sighed at the taste of yourself on his warm lips, his hands slinking around your waist to pull you into his lap. Straddling him, you felt the hardness of his arousal pressing against you through his clothes. His kiss was intense, filled with raw hunger as he moaned against your lips, and you responded eagerly, your fingers threading through his hair.
His hands roamed your back, sliding under your shirt to feel the warmth of your skin. The connection between you was electric, every touch and kiss reigniting the fire between you. You could feel his need, his desire to take you, and it matched your own as you rocked against him, swallowing his gasp with your kiss.
Your mind was still reeling from the high, your attention fixated on pulling Lee closer, savouring the taste of yourself on his lips. The office door opening went unnoticed, and your brother's booming voice didn't register until Lee abruptly pushed you off his lap, sending you sprawling onto the carpeted floor.
Disoriented, you clung to the edge of the mahogany desk, its polished surface slick under your fingers. You pulled yourself up and peeked over the wood, willing yourself to focus. There stood your brother, his face a mask of fury, his eyes blazing with anger. He slammed the door shut behind him, the sound reverberating through the room. "What the hell is this?" he demanded, his voice like thunder, one hand clenched at his side and the other gripping his ornate cane tightly.Â
"Gamby, I wasn't expecting you," Lee greeted with a forced smile, his fingers smoothing down the creases in his tie as he rose from his seat. His posture was stiff, tension evident in every movement. "Swift must have a damn death wish," he muttered under his breath, his voice low and edged with frustration. You winced at his words, feeling the sting of his disapproval.
"I sent Miss Swift on lunch," you whispered, your voice barely audible as you tried to explain. You glanced up at Lee, his expression steely as he looked down upon you, a harsh glare that made you feel even smaller. You mouthed your apology, hoping to diffuse the tension, but the atmosphere in the room was thick with unease. The weight of your brother's stare was almost unbearable, and you could feel the rage radiating off him in waves.
"Oh, I'm sorry, am I interrupting?" Neal said, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he drew both your attentions back to him. "Should I step outside so you can continue fucking my sister?" His voice was raised, face flushed, and you could see the prominent vein on his neck pulsing, a clear sign of his fury whenever he got worked up.
"What?" Lee asked, his voice taking on a jovial tone, though his smile faltered briefly. "Don't be an idiot, Gamby, I'm not fucking your sister," he reasoned, raising his hands in a placating gesture while nodding for you to get up from the floor.
Quickly, you adjusted your skirt, feeling the heat of embarrassment creeping up your neck. You grabbed a manila folder that had fallen during the chaotic moment, clutching it tightly as if it could provide some semblance of reason. Rising to your feet, you held the folder up to Neal, trying to steady your shaking hands. "She was just helping with filing," Lee added, his voice smooth and reassuring but Neal's furious eyes remained fixed on him, scepticism etched across his face.
"Cut the bullshit, Russell! You've still got my sister's lady essence all over your goddamn mouth," Neal shouted in disgust, motioning to his own mouth with his hand. The air of pretence dropped from Lee's face as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, glaring at your brother with disdain.
You placed a hand on Lee's arm, your cheeks burning with embarrassment as you looked between the two men. "Can we behave like adults about this, please?" you implored, hoping to bring some sense of calm to the escalating situation.Â
Neal shrugged, eyebrows raised as he looked at you with disappointment written all over his face. "I just can't believe you're gonna break Mama's heart like this."
"Excuse me? What's Mama got to do with this?" you snapped, feeling a surge of frustration.
"Well, doesn't she have a right to know her only daughter has been defiled by a fuckin' leprechaun?" Neal shot back, his voice dripping with contempt.
"We're the same height, motherfucker," Lee interjected, his irritation clear as he stepped out from behind the desk, trying to defend himself.
"Russell, I swear to God if you do not point that thing somewhere else," Neal threatened, grabbing a cushion from the sofa beside him. He chucked it at Lee, who quickly caught it and held it over the bulging tent in his pants, his jaw tight.
He fixed Neal with a threatening glare. "Gamby, you need to understand that your sister is a grown woman with her own sexual desires, and I happen to be the one fulfilling those desiresâreally fulfilling them," he stressed, his smirk widening into a taunting grin. The words hung in the air, dripping with provocative intent. Neal's face contorted with disgust, his fist clenching at his sides. The tension between the two men was palpable, a volatile mix of anger and defiance that seemed ready to explode at any moment as they stared at each other from across the room.
"Lee, stop it," you said, tugging at the sleeve of his jacket but his eyes didn't move from Neals. You looked at your brother who pointed his cane to Lee, challenging him, and you sighed. "Neal, if you breathe a word of this to Mama, I'll tell her about Ms. Abbot giving you a sloppy in the supply closet," you threatened, your voice steady despite the turmoil inside.
Neal's eyes snapped to you, then back to Lee, who held his hands up, his last ditch attempt at a gesture of innocence. Neal's face turned a shade redder, his fury momentarily replaced by shock and embarrassment as he dropped his cane back to his side. The balance of power shifted slightly, giving you a sliver of hope that the situation might be salvaged.
"You told her that? That's private, confidential information, Russell," Neal spat, his voice dripping with betrayal as he glared at Lee. "Just a couple of snakes in the grass, the pair of you."
You sighed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on you. "You know what? I've got a class to teach," you said, dropping the folder onto the desk with a thud. You moved towards the door, your steps purposeful. As you passed Neal, you paused, meeting his furious gaze with a calm steadiness. "I'll see you later at Janelle's race," you told him, hoping that by then he'd have somewhat gotten over this, although you knew it was going to take more than an afternoon for your stubborn brother to accept it.
He looked down at you, his demeanour wavering as you placed a hand on his arm. "I hope you wash the scent of shame from your body before you arrive," he said, his dramatic tone making you laugh despite the tension.
"Good to see you up and around, butthead," you said softly, giving his arm a light pat before reaching for the door. You turned back and glanced toward Lee, who was now slumped back in his chair with a pout on his face, still holding the cushion over his lap. You gave him a small wave. He rolled his eyes and shooed you away with a brush of his hand, his expression a mix of frustration and resignation.Â
As you stepped out of the office, you drew a deep breath, relieved to be out of the suffocating room. You knew that the repercussions of this encounter were far from over, but for now, you had other responsibilities to attend to, and the chaos of the moment would have to wait.
As you left, the muffled sounds of Lee and Neal arguing drifted through the door. You walked past Miss Swift, who had now returned to the reception area, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"I'd give them a moment," you told her, offering a small, knowing smile. Miss Swift nodded, her curiosity momentarily subdued, and you continued on your way, grateful to put some distance between yourself and the tumultuous scene you had left behind.
Hours later, as you sat at your desk watching your students during the afternoon pop quiz, you felt your phone buzz in the pocket of your skirt. The room was quiet except for the scratching of pencils on paper and the occasional rustle of paper. Glancing around to ensure no one was watching, you discreetly pulled out your phone. The soft glow of the screen lit up your face as you saw the notification. You couldn't help but smile to yourself at the message, the tension from earlier in the day easing slightly.
Lee:Â Your brother's a little bitch. My least favourite Gamby.
You stifled a chuckle, biting your lip as you imagined the irritated look on Lee's face while typing the message. Moments later, another message arrived.
Lee: â¤ď¸
The unexpected emoji made your heart skip a beat. You glanced up to ensure your students were still focused on their quiz, then allowed yourself a brief moment to savour the warm feeling spreading through your chest. You tucked your phone away, the smile lingering on your lips as you tried to refocus on your students, your mind still replaying the texts long past the bell.

Chapter 5: Time in a bottle
Itâs late when you pull into the parking lot. Dusk cloaks the motel in its fuzzy veil, the surroundings fading in diffuse shadows. The single-story building stands out in the twilight, akin to an old ship. Wooden poles for masts, hanging lamps swaying gently in the briny breeze, their lights blurry in the muggy air. Tacky and warm, it wafts in through your carâs open windows, dampening the exposed skin of your forearms and the back of your neck.Â
On the passenger seat, your iPhoneâs screen glows in the semi-darkness with an incoming call.Â
Adrian. Â
âWhat now?â you sigh, through clenched teeth.Â
Your eyes dart up to Frankieâs truck parked in front of you. The word FORD stretched in chrome letters on the tailgate, shining bright in your headlights.Â
The familiar pull awakens between your constricted lungs. A pounding, greedy little tug compelling you to get out of your car and cover the distance to the room as quickly as your step will carry you. But you want to calm your nerves first. Slow down your heart rate, deepen your breathing.Â
That discussion you had with your father, earlier this afternoon, still clings to your frame. The humiliation conveyed by his carefully chosen words like tar, black and viscous. You can almost smell its foul stench. And you donât want to bring any of it inside.Â
Itâs only the third time Frankie gets here before you, if you count that very first Friday back in September. And the second, since you came back from Colorado earlier this month. The pressure in your rib cage eases at the memory of that sweet evening.Â
All day long, you had rushed through your counting routine. Through the long, icy corridors of your glass prison. Rushed on the 589 northbound. Rushed to strangle the uncertainty of his presence there.Â
It was a few minutes past 7pm when you parked next to his truck, his early presence cranking up your anxiousness. You got out of your car with an anguished scowl, and you all but ran toward the porch, toward the brass number 2, shoes scuffing the gravel.Â
The door swung open the very second you stepped under the overhang. A flash of dimple, and his arms wrapped around your waist. He scooped you up from the floor, swift and easy, carrying you inside. Hungry kisses, teeth scraping at your jaw, down the line of your neck. A throaty husk of Happy New Year, Lee Abbott, as he tugged your clothes off your body that thrummed with his scent and his voice and his arms and his taste.Â
With the density of him.Â
He lifted you again, your short, giggly yelp bouncing across the room as he hauled you over his shoulder with an easy force. His steps long and balanced, as if your weight was inconsequential to his strength.Â
In the dim bathroom, he put you down directly into the tub. There, he unbuckled his belt and slid down his jeans, looking at you with a mischievous grin youâd never seen before and that fitted his gorgeous face a little too well.Â
âTold you Iâd fuck you in this shower.âÂ
Thirty seconds later, you were standing together under an aggressive stream of scalding water, his broad back shielding you from the high pressure, steam blurring the tiles and the mirror. You pressed your face into his neck, hands splayed over his chest, feeling it heave with his low, rumbling chuckle.Â
â Thatâs the best I could do. This place is trash,â he scoffed, lips grazing your ear.Â
â Itâs perfect,â you laughed.Â
Another notification lights up your screen, yanking you back into the stifling cab of the sedan, to the nagging cramp poking your rib cage, to your hindered breathing.Â
It glowers at you, bold black letters over a steel gray rectangle.Â
MESSAGESÂ
Adrian
Your eyes flicker back to the red truck, your face crunching into a grimace.Â
âShit,â you grit, grabbing the phone and quickly pressing the home button before you can change your mind. Â
The lock screen fades as the message app pops open. You squint against the brightness of the glowing white screen.Â
I made it, babe. I fucking made it. Youâre talking to the new senior partner of Balmer & Steigt. Fuck yeah. I finally get what I fucking deserve. Â
The gray ellipses start blinking underneath the bubble. You frown, bracing yourself.Â
I couldnât have made it without you. This is your victory as much as mine.
You scoff, but the dread-inducing ellipses keep bouncing happily. Fantastic. Thereâs more coming.
I got you something. Something fancy for my fancy girl.
âOh, hell no.â Â
Leaning down, you pick up the roomy I ⤠NY tote bag Ava got you as a Christmas present and dump your phone into it, before stuffing the bag under your seat.Â
If only you could take a full breath. If only your chest would expend. Itâs not that bad, really. A few months back, you would have been physically unable to keep going with your day after that conversation with your father. Let alone drive. Youâd have suffocated, chocked up on your panic, until youâd been left with no choice other than to gulp down a pill, or two, or three, topped off with a swig of gin. The bitter taste of surrendering.Â
Is that what it means, to give oneself some grace? Youâre doing good, youâre doing better, youâre doing your best.
Closing your eyes, you exhale through pursed lips and ease down your shoulders.Â
He had you called into his office by his secretary, as you were about to leave, bag in hand, counting steps.Â
But you were expecting it. In all honesty, youâre surprised itâs taken him this long. Four weeks since you came back from Beaver Creek. Four weeks of defying his strict, outdated, misogynistic dress-code.Â
The very first morning, you stepped out of the mirror-lined elevator on the 15th floor wearing high-waisted, wide-legged slacks and a loose button-up, the sleeves folded high on your forearms. And flat derbies. Â
Nervousness, sitting heavy and queasy in the pit of your stomach, beating loud against your eardrums. Prickling under your armpits, raising the hair on your nape.Â
Kayteeâs eyes widened as she caught sight of you walking by her office, before she remembered to police her expression. The shock on her face turned into something else, something worse. Lurking in the lift-up corner of her lips, in the smugness coloring her cheeks. Something sardonic. Condescension.Â
â You canât spend your life trying to be someone else. â Avaâs words through the receiver the previous night were a dizzying swirl inside your head, as you walked down the glass corridors, coworkers and subordinates watching you with a similar shocked expression, that blurred their features into one subdued, frightened face.Â
But who the fuck am I, Ava? you wanted to ask, the only sound on the line that of your short breathing. How did you know who you were? Always. From the very beginning of your life. How did you know how to be so unapologetic about it?Â
Had it been your gift to her? Does self-confidence require love? Or guidance? Is it innate?Â
All you know, at this point in your life, is that wearing clothes that you chose for yourself seems like a sound first measure. One that you can actually undertake.Â
And with that in mind, you stepped into your fatherâs office, your heart pulsating in your throat, to take a seat across from him, his clear desk standing like a wide canyon between you.
Now, your steps are nearly silent on the shifting gravel, as you walk across the parking lot, fingers brushing along the cool metal of the truck as you pass it by. That pull toward Frankie propelling you forward, inescapable, irresistible despite the nasty sensation oozing down along your legs like thick-flowing tar, weighing your gait.Â
On the porch, you pause. On Friday evenings, this is when you shed your old skin. Healing wounds, scar tissues. When you set your eyes on the canopy as it swallows the sun, pink-orange dusk fading to dark. Grainy photographs, forgotten vacations. This is when your spine straightens, when you take in the horizon and let it deepen your breathing. When you ready yourself for the life youâve chosen, between the brown carpet and the yellow curtains and his arms.Â
But itâs already night. The darkness has erased the horizon and your old skin wonât shed.Â
The door opens, a draft ruffling your hair. Â
The first thing you see is the crease between his brow. The tick of his whiskered jaw, and then, his dark brown eyes, appraising the tension that winds up your body, appraising your silence. His grunt, like an echo, distant.Â
âYou sat in that car forever. I was about to come out and get you.â
The concern in his voice rattles something deep inside your belly. Youâre not bringing any of it inside that room of yours, you think, as he pushes away from the door to let you in, as you cross the threshold, but itâs stuck to you. Your fatherâs voice. The tremendous power it still holds over you. His disappointment. Your failures, plural. All the wrong choices.Â
His hat is set on the desk. His suede jacket is draped over the back of the angular wooden chair. Your gaze lingers on it, you can almost feel the comforting softness of the fabric under the pads of your fingers.
He stands a few feet away from you, giving you space. Dark mahogany searching your features, your posture. His hands propped on his hips, like that other night in the parking lot, after heâd seen the fresh scar in your hairline.Â
You face away from him. The smell of the room is familiar, in a comforting way. Musty. Dust and the faintest perfume of industrial laundry detergent coming from the starched sheets. Heâs pulled the bedspread off the bed. Itâs folded neatly on the floor underneath the window. It rises tears along your throat, the idea of him prepping himself, prepping the place, alone in this room where youâve waited for him countless times and hours. Guilt scrambles your brain, over what, youâre not entirely certain. Keeping him waiting? You failures, plural. All the wrong choices.Â
âLee.â
His voice seeps in through the blackness coating your skin, like warm and persistent little droplets of sweet amber.
You turn to face him, at last. An awkward upper-body twist, feet rooted to the brown carpet, teeth clenched around the lump in your throat. Heâs wearing that gray threadbare t-shirt you love, the one with a v-neck, and your eyes find the dip at the base of his throat, the fireworks of freckles between his collarbone. Tears well up, too strong to hold back, and you shut your eyes to the muffled sound of his booted steps on the matted carpet. Â
Youâre drifting, enveloped in his warmth, his scent, leather and musk. The contact of his skin as he curls a large hand around your nape, tucking your face into the curve of his strong neck.Â
His arm wraps around your waist, drawing you closer, flush to his chest, and he presses his chin to your temple. You let go, surrender, honey dripping thick and golden along your loosening limbs.Â
His pulse beats solid and steady against your cheek. You breathe him in, a hindered inhale at first, and when your shoulders begin to drop, a deeper one. A single tear escapes. It rolls down the round of your cheek into his skin. Your palms skim up to the plane of his back, soaking in his heat, and he presses you in harder, his forearm aligning with your spine, fingers spreading at the base of your skull.Â
Time stretches. He holds you. You lean in.Â
Later, after heâs helped you climb into the cab of his truck, you keep your eyes on him as he rounds the red hood.
Sitting behind the wheel, he puts the key in the ignition and, looking at you, tilts his head to the left.Â
âCâmere,â he says, and you scoot next to him, biting down a relieved sigh as you slide over the seat bench.Â
He leans over your lap, grabbing the middle seat belt, and buckles you in, then himself. You settle in, with your head against his shoulder, and your hand on his thigh, soft cotton, worn denim. Under your touch, his firm muscles ripple as he drives you into the night, into oblivion. The steady motion lulling you to sleep.
Alongside the deserted road, trees and bushes roll out in the headlights as the truck swallows miles and miles of asphalt.Â
âIâm sorry,â you mumble after a while, fighting drowsiness.
âDonât be. You wanna talk about it?â he adds after a pause.
âNo.âÂ
You shake your head, your voice so low youâre not certain heâs heard your answer.
âDoesnât have to be now,â he says. âWhenever youâre ready.â
Your head bobs with his bunching muscles as he releases the wheel to bend his arm at the elbow, fingers threading through your hair. Without lifting his eyes off the road, he leans in, and pecks a pointed kiss on the crown of your head.Â
Your eyes close. The image of the bedspread neatly folded underneath the window flashes through your mind. You canât seem to get used to his tender gestures, to his attentions. You hope they will never stop. You hope you will never get used to them.Â
The emotion washes over you, a soft wave, and you float with it. In the cab of his truck, in his scent and his hold, you feel free of all doubts. Fear and pain cannot find you here. Itâs unlike anything youâve ever experienced so far, a strange feeling, potent and all encompassing, albeit one that doesnât need to be dulled or tamed.Â
The words come out of your mouth as a surprise.Â
âI think I don't want it to define me anymore. My family, I mean. Where I come from.â Â
This is a new state of mind. Or perhaps itâs been there for a while, a mere shadow on the wall, something you couldnât clearly discern. Suddenly simple to comprehend and articulate.
âYea. I get it,â he says.
And you know he does.Â
You open your eyes, and take in a deep breath, fill your lungs with that distinct old leather scent that clings about him, and the smell of vintage Bakelite from the dashboard, so specific to his truck. Â
âMusic?â you ask.
âSure, good idea. You like Jefferson Airplane?â
You nod, brushing your cheek against the cottony fabric of his t-shirt, leaving a little bit of you there, for him to find later.
âYes. I like them.â
âJefferson Airplane it is, then,â he answers.Â
Gently, he bends forward, mindful not to nudge you too much, and turns on the stereo. His thick fingers push the tape thatâs already there into the slot, and your lips curl with an explicit thought, unlike any you used to have before meeting him. Crude, but welcome pictures that now constantly crowd your brain.Â
He keeps the volume low, and with the round rumbling of his quiet humming, your mind slowly drifts off again.Â
Youâre about to fall asleep when a thought surfaces, skirting the edges of your consciousness.Â
âFrankie?â you quietly call.Â
âMmh?â
âAre you⌠Were you in the military?â
The humming stops, his silence abrupt, and his shoulder tenses under your cheek. Pushing away from it, you risk a sleepy glance at his face, plunged in the semi-darkness. Itâs not dark enough that you donât recognize the cocking of his jaw.Â
âFrankie?â you ask again. âIâm sorry, I didnât meanââ
âIâm a pilot,â he cuts in, pausing to inhale deeply. âI was in the Army for nearly twenty years. I got a discharge a couple years back.âÂ
You remain silent. His eyes flicker quickly between you and the road, and you give his thigh a strong squeeze with your left hand, before resting your cheek against his shoulder, eluding his searching gaze.
Volunteers is crackling through the speakers, but you donât hear the music. Fully awake now, your mind is reeling with those scattered, minute parts of him you picked up Friday after Friday to stash them away in your subconscious. His puzzle of shadows. All the things that now make perfect sense, and the ones youâre dying to unravel.Â
His quiet assertiveness. His hands, quick and sure. His silences. His commanding tone. That long, sideways scar etched on his left flank.Â
His early rage, and his anger too. The flight forward, dimming his eyes, where deep rich mahogany now glimmers.Â
The zip ties. Your eyes grow wide, a gasping sound catching in your throat. Youâre not ready to address how much you appreciate this particular skill of his, considering where he picked it up. Â
Your imagination produces a clear vision of him in a US Air Force uniform, the fabric stretched over his broad shoulders, and you bite your lip, your entire body covering in chills.Â
Frankie has yet to say another word. Something raises your consciousness, something in the scowl sharpening his features as he scanned your face for a reaction.Â
Images flash through your head. The 8 Ă 10 picture displayed in your fatherâs office in its platinum frame, for every visitor to admire. Smooth faced and confident, his sleeves rolled up high on his lean forearms, your fatherâs shaking hands with Reagan in front of a colorful assemblage of containers, in the industrial quarter of the Tampa Bay Harbor, during the 1984 campaign. His coldly handsome face split by a smile, larger and more genuine than any of those he ever addressed you, let alone Ava.Â
Recollections of those dragging hours you spent in church as a child, beads of sweat dripping along your spine as you sat in the sweltering heat on a hard wooden bench, rigid and still like a marble statue for fear of being reprimanded.Â
The hateful, vehement speeches your father would burst into at random, your mother pinching your arm for you to listen, this is important. The uneasy feeling sitting in the pit of your stomach, like bile, like nausea. Wrong. This is wrong. A feeling, not an idea yet. It grew with you, expending, to become impossible to see past by the time you started high.
The list of names in your fatherâs neat handwriting, scrawled on a crisp piece of paper, that he handed you before driving the entire family to the polls for your very first election. The sheer terror, primitive in its hold over you, prickling on your nape as you systematically disregarded his instructions, choosing the names followed by the three letters DEM.Â
The rare political meetings you secretly attended in college, the pamphlets in loud colors and bold letters, that you read hidden from your roommateâs prying eyes, as if they were satanic verses. Reproductive rights! Demilitarization Now! No to privatized prisons! End gun violence!Â
Petitions you signed with a shaking hand, because what if your parents found out? What if they heard of it? A dread so profoundly anchored at the very core of your psyche that you have never told Ava any of it, even when she would chastise your lack of interest in politics, your lack of involvement, lest sheâd reveal your treason to them in the heat of an argument.
Could this be when you started finding yourself? In your diverging convictions? Could it be enough? Could it count?Â
âDo you want to talk about it?â you ask tentatively.
He huffs a short, bitter laugh, shaking his head.Â
âYouâre a hell of a fast learner, arenât you?â
âI have a very good teacher,â you shrug, trying to ignore the sharpness in his tone.Â
Curiosity overthrowing your ingrained fear to displease, you ask, âWhat kind of aircraft do you fly? Planes? Helicopters?â
He simply nods, and your cheeks heat again at the notion, your heart racing.Â
âIâm very impressed,â you whisper. âI can barely parallel park.â
âIâm sure you got plenty of other skills,â he answers, softer.Â
âNo. I really donât.â
â
Frankie walks briskly across the parking lot, carrying a take-away bag and a six-pack of beer. His head hung low to shield his face from the thin, mid-February drizzle. His denim shirt sticks to his back with humidity, and sweat from the drive. Itâs pulled uncomfortably taut across his shoulders.Â
He steps onto the porch, hands too full to open the door or even knock on it, so he gives it three light kicks. A tiny screw pops out from the curved top of the brass number two. The whole thing swivels upside down, swinging like a pendulum.
âJesus christ, this fucking place,â he scoffs.
The door flies open, and youâre here, with that bright, earnest smile and your wide, luminous eyes. Youâve tied your hair up in a casual do, but youâre still fully dressed. He likes those slacks on you, snug on your curves, wide on your legs. It fits you so much better than the tight pencil skirts you used to wear when he first met you. Those made you look like an 80s porn producer fever dream. But these trousers transform your gait, your entire demeanor, into something more relaxed. More confident. He could watch you strut around the room for hours. If only there was more time. Â
He catches a glimpse of the mesh fabric of your bra, peeking out from the cleavage of your open shirt, and he mentally curses the corporate fucks who get to work all week around you.
âHey, Frankie.â
The sharp, familiar pang rips through his chest at the sound of your voice, light and cheery. That ache he waits for seven excruciatingly long days to experience again.
âHey, baby.â
As you let him in, he feels the tip of your fingers brushing his thigh, as if you need to make sure heâs here in the flesh. The miracle of you wanting him, still.Â
âWhatâs in the bag?â you ask, dragging the chipped chair away from the desk, so he can set down his bounty.Â
His eyes fall on your graceful nape as you crane your neck to see whatâs inside the bag, too well-behaved to touch it without having been invited to do so.Â
âDidnât have time to eat. I took something for you too, I hope you donât mind. Did you eat? Are you hungry?â
âI donât usually eat before I come here,â you admit. âI drive in straight from work,â you add, heat visibly creeping up your neck and ears.
He takes off his hat, ruffling a hand through his hair to conceal a smug smile.Â
âAnd youâre not starving, by the time Iâm finished with you?â
âQuite the contrary, actually. I feel pretty full when you leave.â
Your lips stretch into a wide grin youâre ineffectively trying to hold back.Â
âThat so?â he chuckles, propping his hands on his hips. For countenance.Â
Pride glimmers in your eyes, as it does every time you make him laugh. He knows itâs mirrored in his eyes. Your levity is his reward.Â
Everything about you is unbearably endearing. Heâs not sure if heâs hungry for food anymore, or if heâs not going to go straight down on you. Youâve already prepared the bed, that ugly bedspread neatly folded under the window. He could lay you prone on your stomach, lower your trousers to your knees, perk up your pretty ass and eat your sweet cunt from behind.
His hunger for you sizzles along his spine, sparkling in his loins, imperious and distracting. The sensation is delicious, and for once, he takes the time to revel in it. Heâs so used to barging in here and just taking. He doesnât savor, not really, not until after heâs had you at least once.Â
Heâs not proud of his unbridled hunger, the consequence of seven daysâ worth of pent-up frustration, chasing your perfume on his clothes and the ghost feeling of your cool, smooth skin under his palms. That ever-growing obsession for your scent, for your eyes, and that crippling craving for the sounds you produce when he moves inside you. That high he gets when he makes you feel good. Every time he gives you what you want.Â
And thereâs the absolute black-out on all communications between you throughout the week that drives him out of his mind. He knows thatâs the tacit deal the two of you struck at the very beginning. No phone number, no address, no marks. Hell, he didnât even know your name until you gave it to him at Christmas. Only, heâs left in the dark for seven consecutive fucking days, with no means to check up on you, and no way to make sure youâre safe.Â
He understands the necessity for secrecy. But the more time passes, the less it makes sense.Â
So come Friday night, he needs to crush you under his weight. Needs to feel your flesh gushing through his splayed fingers and hear you mewl his name, eyes rolling to the back of your head, your body tensing up in his hold before it shatters around his cock.Â
He needs to fuck you deep and full, find you in that place within yourself and wreck you there. He needs to make sure youâre alright. Make sure youâre real. Make sure youâre his.Â
And his control might be tenuous, but he sure loves the way you lean into it.Â
Youâre still smiling when he takes a step closer behind you. Lowering his face into the curve of your neck, he inhales you there, that spot behind your ear, where your subtle scent becomes heady. He feels your chest rising with your own deep breathing, and he pictures your eyes fluttering shut. His hand skims the curve of your hip, sliding up to the swell of your breast over the smooth fabric of your shirt, gripping you roughly as he takes your earlobe between his lips and sucks on it. His hips move against your ass of their own volition, his cock half-hard, fucking twitching.
âFrankie,â you whine.
âYea?â
He licks a broad stride up your neck, collecting the tangy taste of your skin, mixed with the chemical one of your perfume.Â
âWhatâs in the bag?â
âWhat bag, baby? Oh, right.â
Itâs a beat before he can detach himself from you. His cock is beating hard and angry against the confining fabric of his jeans. With a light brush of his knuckles along your side, he reminds himself thereâs also pleasure in the anticipation. The word sits in the back of his throat, like a knife ready to bleed him dry. Concupiscence.Â
Ripping the paper bag open in the middle, he smooths both sides neatly over the desk, and points at the three rolls wrapped in tin foil.
âTook three burritos, and some fried beans. Thereâs one beef, one pork, and one vegetarian, in case you don't eat meat.â
You look at him with a twinkle in your eyes, your grin getting wider than heâs ever seen it. He braces a hand flat on the desk.Â
âOh, I eat meat, I thought youâd know that.â
The words have barely left your mouth that you burst into a fit of giggles, covering your face with both hands.
âChrist, woman!â he laughs. âAlright, sit down. Letâs get proper food into that mouth of yours, for once.â
Together, you unfold the bedspread and arrange it over the foot of the bed. The thing is already stained, and you mutually agree thereâs no need to make a mess of the white sheet just yet.Â
Letting you pick between the two richer ones, he takes the vegetarian burrito, and you start eating together, two open cans of beer at your feet.Â
His bites are ravenous, while you nibble gingerly at your food, holding the burrito with two hands, the foil crackling between your fingers. After a few bites, however, you start eating in bigger chunks.Â
âThis is delicious,â you moan with your mouth full.Â
Is he getting jealous of a fucking burrito now? Is that where heâs at?
âWhat, you never had a burrito in your life?â
You wince, and he immediately regrets the teasing skepticism of his tone.Â
Setting the food down, you dab a paper towel to the corner of your mouth, catching a fleck of sauce. Thereâs grace in all your movements, even the tiniest ones. Â
âMy mother monitored everything I ate. God forbid I put on any weight,â you explain, a hint of bitterness in your voice.Â
He lowers his hands, eyes trained on your averted gaze.Â
âI know what youâre thinking,â you tell him, looking up at him.
Thereâs that quiet resignation painted all over your face.Â
âTry me.â
âYouâre thinking Iâm a grown woman, old enough to make her own decisions.â
He shakes his head. âWas actually thinking your mother sounds like the exact opposite of mine.â
Your mouth curves into a sad attempt at a smile.
âI don't judge you, Lee. We all do what we can with what we got dealt with.â
A slight frown knits your brow, as you seem to consider his words.Â
He has spent a lot of time, lately, reflecting over his own choices, and the many places where theyâve led him, for better or for worse.Â
Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria. Libya and the most dangerous places in sub-Saharan Africa. Nearly everywhere in South America. Twice over.
Over the fucking Andes, and to Tomâs funeral.Â
Choices that also made him Luaâs father.Â
Crossroads that have taken him all the way to that shithole bar, last year at the end of August. Conscious decisions that brought him here, into this room. Into your arms. Into your life.
A chain reaction he wouldnât alter, he knows it now, even if he was given the chance for a do-over.Â
He used to consider things as definite. Choices as absolute and irrevocable. It took him becoming a father, and meeting you, to understand his motherâs words. Paso a paso, sheâd say, watching him with a tender, knowing smile as he rushed toward his life. Paso a Paso, Francisco.Â
You eat in silence for a while, and he keeps watching you. That sharp pain solidly entrenched inside his chest, blooming through his heart, he has to make a conscious effort to breathe around it.Â
He bought you the food youâre eating right now. Drove to his favorite place, stood in line and placed his order with you in mind. And youâre enjoying it. In fact, youâre demonstrating an impressive appetite, hungrier, messier with every bite. Sauce dripping down your chin. Pink flashes of tongue licking it from between your fingers.Â
He could get used to that. Providing for you. Taking care of you. In more than just one way. Sharing the mundane routine of a daily life together.Â
But this is not real. Whatever is happening between the four walls of this shitty motel is not ground for life-altering choices.Â
âDo you want to share the pork one?â you ask, crinkling the tinfoil wrapper into a compact ball.Â
âIâm good, baby,â he answers with a soft smile. âYou can have it. Just make sure youâre still hungry for more meat when youâre done.â
â
Adrian has gifted you a new purse from another French luxury brand. Itâs a square-shaped thing cut from some grayish reptile skin, with a matching tag and a decorative lock hanging from its handle. It looks insanely expensive and ridiculously vulgar, its tackiness almost cruelly ironic. Like a rich peopleâs inside joke. Â
Somehow, youâre vaguely aware this model is exclusive and canât be bought online or even in stores, however high-end. It has to be ordered, and thereâs a waiting list. Useless knowledge you probably gathered from one of your motherâs magazines. A family of four could most likely live comfortably for a whole year for the price of this thing.Â
Incidentally, thereâs a new perfume clinging to Adrianâs clothes when he comes home late at night. The first time you caught a whiff of the heady fragrance, intense vanilla and white musk, it reminded you of the stunning blonde with feline hazel eyes.Â
The gift immediately felt less like an expression of gratitude for your support than like a reward for your silent compliance. But itâs of little to no importance. The bag sits idly at the bottom of your walk-in dressing. Unused, containing whatâs left of the love and respect you once harbored for the man.Â
Every so often, you think about it, as you cruise along the 589. It makes you smile. A wide, Cheshire cat grin, one that bares your front teeth, and you wonder if itâs cruel of you to smile about the end of something that used to mean so much. Something that meant nearly everything. You wonder if youâve ever been cruel before. Intentionally, that is.Â
Then, you conclude you donât care. This particular kind of cruelty feels far too good. Too righteous. You could get used to it.Â
And you keep cruising along the 589 northbound.Â
â
âMark Twain or Lewis Carroll?â
âOh god, Frankie, I donât knowâŚâ you moan, too distracted to think straight.Â
Teeth ghosting a bite over your neck, he wraps a kiss around your skin, sucking on it. Not sharply enough to bruise, but enough for you to clench hard around him.
In the past few weeks, heâs become playful. Itâs new to you. Was it always a part of him, constituent but buried underneath the scars and the years, or was it born from your touch?Â
Heâs become talkative, too. Talkative, and curious. But then again, perhaps he always was. Only, not with you.Â
Thus, there are new rituals between you. Secrets exchanged behind the shielding partition of the yellow curtains. Murmurs shared underneath the droning of the ceiling fan, in the golden lighting from the quaint bedside lamps.
Some of his questions can pose a challenge. Youâre not always certain about the proper answer. The right one. You were raised to say what was expected of you. Taught to speak to please, not to speak your mind. To wait for your cue, and hold your thoughts in between.
Frequently, you hesitate, afraid to trip on your words.Â
But he doesnât easily relent. Heâs playful and curious. But above all, heâs patient and persistent.
âI donât know,â you repeat.
âYou know. Come on.â
âOkay, um⌠Lewis Carroll. I loveâ I love Alice.â
âOh yea? You do? You like following big white rabbits to strange places, huh?â
His chest shakes with his raspy chuckle, and you laugh, until he pulls you in closer, sheathing himself deeper inside you, and your laughter plummets into a throaty groan.
Seamlessly, these new ceremonials have replaced the old ones, the ones that were carried out under wary gazes, in appraising silence. Â
Now, you donât always count your steps on Fridays, but you leave work earlier, and when you arrive at the motel, you try to engage Raul in conversation. His discomfort is obvious, bordering on annoyance, as you disrupt his concentration while heâs busy drawing charcoal landscapes of jagged mountains. But these past two weeks, he seems to have loosened up a bit. Either youâre wearing him off, or heâs trying to get rid of you faster.Â
On the porch, in front of room number 2, you watch the sun slowly sink into the canopy of trees in an explosion of tangerine pink. Every week, the sunset creates a different palette of orange, but your emotion continues to be whole and unaltered.Â
Before stepping in, you flick the upside-down brass number. It smiles in greeting, swinging on its one remaining screw.
You wish the place carried Frankieâs scent. It never does, of course. As you fold the comforter and prop it under the windowsill, the only smells wafting around are that of laundry detergent, dust, and the faintest hint of mold.Â
Thereâs nothing tangible for you to hold on to in his absence, and this is by far the most difficult. It creates a vacuum, a fertile soil for foul, festering thoughts. Doubt, dread, agitation. During those seven days apart, there is no text or voicemail on your phone you can turn to for reassurance. No photo booth pictures stashed inside your wallet. No clothes of his to drape over your body and keep you warm and safe. Keep you sane.Â
Every so often, when you cannot find sleep, you convoke the memory of his gray t-shirt, the one with the v-neck and the pilled fabric. The sensation of the slightly rugged cotton under the pads of your fingers. The immediate comfort gently lulls you to sleep.Â
There is one thing, one thing only: the receipt from the burrito place, that you retrieved from the wastebasket after heâd left, that one time he brought you food. Itâs tucked between two pages of your Moleskine planner. Youâre not sure whether itâs cute or downright pathetic. Â
You had thought the want, the yearning, would ease with time. It only kept spreading to every corner of your existence, every aspect of your life. Instead of only missing his touch, you now miss his voice, too. His choice of words, the cadence of his speech, the pace of his gait. His crinkled-eyes, dimpled smile. The way he rolls up his sleeves, leaves the top buttons of his shirt open, and the way he undresses. His three-finger hold on his glass. His long reflecting pauses before he speaks. The freedom and safety you experience with him.
You just became better at handling the longing. Recently, you have become very good at handling numerous things. Quietly but steadfastly defying your fatherâs injunctions to comply with his dress code. Adrianâs glaring eyes of blue, their silent judgement. Ava living a life of her own, far away from you.Â
Reading helps. You hadnât read in years, and you hadnât realized how much youâd missed it. Now, you carry a book with you everywhere in your I ⤠NY tote. In these last moments before he walks into the room, you lie on your side across the motel bed, your head propped on your hand, and you read.
And when Frankie arrives, everything makes sense again, everything is justified.Â
The wooden door creaks open, the brass number swiveling frantically, and his relief upon seeing you lights up the dim room. Hushed greetings, his large hands curling at your waist, pulling you into him, a husk of Hey, baby, his lips barely leaving yours while he tugs at your clothes, undressing you already.Â
Thereâs rarely any other form of preamble beyond an occasional variation of Fuck, I really missed you, Lee , his teeth trailing down the line of your throat, sinking in just shy of a bite. Out of breath, out of time.Â
The wait is over.Â
Does he still come here to escape? Does he come here for you? His urgency hasnât abated. But his intent feels different.
Stop me, skin on skin, chest to chest, the weight of his body covering yours, calloused hands hooked on your shoulders for purchase, pounding into you loud and ruthless.Â
Stop me, crouched over you like a devouring beast, his face buried into the crook of your neck, shallow breaths and gripping hands, grinding deep inside your heat.Â
Stop me, and what you hear is, I trust you.Â
Deep grunts thrumming out of his throat, tumbling from his plush lips into your skin, a searing branding, an invisible mark.Â
His plea. Lee.
He comes right after you do, pulling out just in time to spurt hot and thick over your arching body, or inside your wanting mouth.Â
Later, when his spend has dried on your skin, when heâs kissed the soreness better, when your breathing has slowed, he brings you a glass of water, and waits until youâve drank it all to bury his face between your legs, or fuck your throat if you begged him to.Â
And on some Fridays, he goes by the desk to sit on the rectangular chair. He positions it sideways from the framed mirror. Says the reflection distracts you. Itâs true.Â
You could spend hours watching him. Watching him move, watching him sleep. Watch the care he puts in the way he handles his clothes and his truck and your pliant body. Watch him button up his jeans or tie his belt around your wrists. Watch his curls catch the light as he combs his fingers through them, the working of his throat, the pulsating throb of his heartbeat in his strong neck. The dip in his collarbone. The darker scar on his side. The muscles of his shoulders and his back, rippling under his freckled skin. Watch, and map those freckles with your lips.Â
You could spend the rest of your life with him.
âCâmere,â he beckons, with a little tilt of his head, and a light pat on his thigh.
You get up from wherever he left you lying, the bed, the rough carpeting, the bathroom tiles, and walk over to him on wobbly legs. There, he draws you into his lap in a face-away straddle, his hands on your waist guiding you, firm and gentle, as he makes room for himself inside of you. The tip of your toes barely reach the carpet once youâre seated, and you have to rely entirely on him for balance. You like that.Â
He braces his strong arms around you, and you keep your fingers curled around them, reclining against him, against his warmth. You like the sticky sensation of your combined sweats gluing your loose bodies. Your back molds to his chest like it was shaped for this very purpose.Â
Your head tips back onto his firm shoulder, and he props his chin in the curve of your neck. The slight swaying of your hips is languid and slow, barely perceivable, in the same way the earthâs revolution around the sun is imperceptible to its inhabitants.Â
Time lingers, in long lazy stretches, infinite moments in the amber lighting of the room, in the friendly shadows. In the heart of the night, and the folds of your existence. The low husk of his voice like honey in your ears, his words vibrating from his chest to your back, to your core.Â
You can hear the smile in his tone. If you close your eyes, you can see it.
He asks about your taste in books, music or movies, food and entertainment, and tells you about his. Silly games of Would you rather? and Never have I ever.Â
Scrunching up your nose under your pinched brow, brain cells scrambling back together inside your hazy brain, you try to produce coherent answers as his lush lips trace intricate patterns along your skin, your throat, your shoulders, nimble fingertips rolling your nipples into hardened peaks. A scrape of his teeth, followed by the wet glide of his tongue, soothing over your flushed skin.
Sometimes, you feel so full itâs overwhelming. The sensation, the emotion strangles the air out of you. Your cunt flutters around the thick, stiff girth of him, and he lets out a gravelly groan, cock throbbing inside your snug walls. Your slick pools down onto the coarse curls at his base. Itâs like a virtuous circle. Everything feels right with him.Â
After a while, when youâve melted inside, when amber twirls in your bloodstream and your thoughts have turned to swirling molasses, his hand slides down along your stomach. His calloused fingers parting your folds, he starts rubbing at your clit, telling you that itâs time to come for me, baby.Â
And when you do, he comes with you, shoving you down and deep onto his pulsating length, fingers digging into the soft flesh of your hips. His mouth pressed to that sensitive spot over your pulse point, his feverish grunts sizzling against your damp skin.Â
When he comes inside you, when you come together, you are made brand-new. Anythingâs possible. Thereâs nothing you canât do.Â
The elating sensation is your favorite daydream, sitting at your desk, over dinner, stuck in traffic, or in the blue hours before dawn. It sustains you throughout the week. The promise of it tingles in tense anticipation, from the crown of your head to the tip of your toes, when you watch him walk over to the desk and fold his tall, massive figure into the ugly chair.Â
Week after week, question after question, you come into focus between his arms. Itâs terrifying, and exhilarating. You keep getting better at it.
Itâs a bittersweet ache, tender and addictive, to learn about his existence outside this room of yours. The borderless confines of his life. Of him. The details he chooses to confide in you, about his childhood, his past, and his present, in the dead of the night, his body wrapped around yours, chasing the contact of your skin. Chasing your touch, your softness, your understanding, when he used to grunt away from it. Like a threat, with bared teeth, and a shake of his head. A forbidding. A not yet.Â
It makes sense to you now. Thereâs an absolute about him. An all or nothing. Youâre not sure when it happened. The tipping point. Perhaps in the bathroom, on that sunny morning after Christmas, when he crowded you against the sink with a wolfish look turning his gorgeous face dark and threatening. You think it was meant to scare you. One last attempt. Your last chance to recoil and escape.Â
You didnât. You kept blooming, unfurling into your own limbs under the dark depth of his gaze, reflected in the black-edged mirror. You pressed back into him, the solid, steadying bulk of his body, of his broad chest. You pushed back and sunk deeper into his world.Â
Today, he had to scoop you up from the floor where you were lying, boneless, in the wet mess he drew out of you.Â
When he stormed into the room, you could still hear the engine of the truck revving. A scowl shadowed his face. Fidgety, tightly wound up, he began undressing you without a word. Unceremonious in his need, an echo of those early days, when he was imprisoned in his past, when his strength was unrestrained, when violence was his sole language.Â
Fingers digging into the tense muscles of his shoulders, carding through his hair, you sought eye contact, softly cooing, Iâm here, Frankie, Iâm here, until your voice got through him. Until he heard you, slowing down, drawing you close. His forehead smearing sweat over your temple, his ragged breathing fanning the shell of your ear. His fist clutching the fabric of your shirt in a ball, with a push-pull motion, torn and primal, I need it, Lee. Please, I need you.
You relented, gave into it, lose and pliant as he bent you over the desk with a press of his palm, flat between your shoulder blades, as he pulled your panties to the side and lined himself up, as he thrust into you in one ruthless shove, down to his base. The clasp of his watch biting into your flesh. He was still fully clothed.Â
Pulling on your wrists with an iron grip, he drilled into you at a brutal pace, skin catching at your entrance along his length, and you bit your lips through it, nearly drawing blood, until, at the very center of you, the pain turned into something blindingly pleasurable, bright and searing. A shockwave, erupting from your core, fast spreading along your limbs, lighting up every nerve-ending.Â
Tensing under his constraining hold, bucking against his grip, you cried out his name, your back achingly stiff. Slick gushing out of you fast and hot, as your legs trembled uncontrollably, and through the din of it all, his rumbling growl, a guttural string of Fuck, before you slumped onto the desk and he fucked his own release into you.Â
When he let go of you, he had to lay you on the carpet, where he collapsed next to you, chest heaving with exertion. Time blurred, you might have spent the whole night lying there, staring blankly at the popcorn ceiling, but he got up to undress.
Heâs cradling you on his lap now, gently rocking into you. The slow and steady rhythm of his heartbeat aligned with yours, youâre bathed in his warmth, enveloped by his musky scent. You play along, searching your brain for answers. To his questions, and yours. Â
Thereâs no evidence of his earlier outburst, saved for his thumbs drawing circles on your wrists where his fingers left a bruising indent. And of course, the wet spot on the carpet.Â
Nuzzling your jawline, he trails a path of messy, lazy kisses down the column of your neck, capturing the tender skin between his plush lips, his tongue peeking through them.
âI should read it again. Alice. Read it so long ago. When I was a kid.â
Humming distractedly in agreement, your head lolls back on his shoulder.Â
âDid I hurt you, earlier?â
Your eyelids fly open. His voice is barely a murmur, no more than warm breath grazing your ear, and you feel him throb inside you.Â
âI donât want to hurt you. I never want to hurt you.â
The vulnerability in his words shoots through your heart like a bullet. You free your arms to twine your fingers with his.Â
âWhat happened today, Frankie?âÂ
His chest stiffens underneath you.Â
âNothing. Nothing happened. Itâs more⌠Itâs the date.â
The overhead fan hums over the room, louder than your breathing, louder than his.Â
âA year ago, I agreed to a mission. With my former teammates. It was⌠It was bullshit. From the start. Nothing went as planned.â
He pauses and you wait, still and silent.Â
âOne of us got killed.â
âIâm sorry,â you whisper, squeezing his hands with all of your strength.
A chilling, bone-deep dread settles over your body in the sweltering heat, so cold he can probably feel it. You donât want him to.Â
âYou said you resigned a couple of years ago?âÂ
âI did. I worked for the private sector, on occasions. Itâs over now.â
âDo you miss it?â
âFuck no,â he snarls. âBut some of my friends did. Iâ I had to go.â He clears his throat. âI chose to go.â
âDo you miss him?â
He doesnât answer for a while. Lifting his hand in yours, you give his knuckles a long, open-mouthed kiss. His forehead rests heavy against the back of your head, his eyelashes a fluttering caress on your nape.Â
âFor a long time, I felt responsible for his death.â
His words are dense with defeat. With sadness, and fatality. They sink heavily into you, into your bloodstream. You donât need a mirror to know what his face looks like at this very moment. Your body will remember it, even if you live long enough to forget your own name. The pitch-blackness of his beautiful eyes, the stern crease splitting his brow, imploring for your touch. The tightness in his jaw. The downward curve of his plush lips.
That first night at the motel comes back rushing like a flood, like a wildfire. His roughness, the urgency saturating his actions, the anger in his grief. His bleeding wounds, invisible, evident, glaring. He reached for you through his despair, clutching your body, clinging to the idea of you.Â
Are you real? Â
I donât know.Â
A dry sob wells up in your throat, but you swallow it down.Â
âWhat do you think now?â
âI think it doesnât matter whoâs responsible for his death. His girls are still orphaned.â
Between your lungs, the wild creature curls up into a ball. Its tears fill up your heart. There isnât any pill or alcohol strong enough to numb this pain of yours. But it doesnât matter. You want to feel what he feels.
You turn around. You kiss him.
â
âWhat about this one?â
He should be leaving soon. But your bodyâs soft and relaxed, curled into his side on the rumpled bed. Pleasantly cool in the muggy atmosphere of the motel room, in the dawnâs indigo hues. Your thin fingers hover gracefully over his skin, tracing the outlines of his scars, and itâs like youâre reshaping his entire body, all of his wounds, and his whole life, with the gentle touch of your fingertips.
âFrankie, whatâs this one?â
He should be leaving soon. The sunâs about to come up.Â
âDid you save it for last because itâs the largest?â he deflects with a smirk.
Folding an arm over his chest, you prop your chin over it, frowning exaggeratedly with your jaw shifting to the side. He laughs so hard that your head bobbles with his shaking belly.
âThat supposed to be an impression of me?â
âYou recognized yourself,â you smile, sitting up next to him.
He should be leaving soon. And you know it. Youâre giving him the space he needs to get up and get out. He fucking hates it.
âStay here,â he says, curling his fingers around your arm as youâre about to get down from the bed.
The look you give him awakens the pain in his chest. You peer through the curtains, into the blue morning sky, and your gaze returns to him with a silent question.Â
âCome on. Please. Just a little longer.â
Itâs not lost on him that he should be the one getting up. Not pleading.
The mattress creaks in protest as you move over it on your knees, sitting in a straddle across his hips.Â
âYea, thatâs better,â he smiles, smoothing his palms over your thighs. His left hand slides up to palm your breast, and he notices he hasnât taken off his watch, tonight. Itâs the second time this month.
âWhatâs this one?â you ask again, entirely undistracted, measuring up your hand to the length of the darker patch of skin.Â
âOkay,â he sighs, âI crashed a chopper nearâ wait, I canât actually tell you that.â
âJesus, Frankie,â you gasp, spreading both hands over the old wound, as if to stop a ghost bleeding. Your eyes have grown so wide, they eat up half your face.
âItâs okay, baby, itâs old. Wasnât a big deal.â
It had been a big deal, at the time. There had been talks of awarding him a Silver Star for that mission.
âDid it hurt?â
âMostly my pride. It wasnât that bad, donât worry. Nothing compared to what my sister threatened to do to me if I didn't leave the Army.âÂ
âI canât say I blame her. I would have probably done the same.â
âOk, my turn. Whatâs this one?â
His left thumb skims along the thin line on your inner thigh, and he feels you tensing under his touch. Â
âItâs nothing,â you snap, taking your hands off his skin as if you just got burnt.Â
He presses his thumb into your soft flesh. The pain in his chest accentuates, radiating down to his stomach.Â
âYouâre cheating,â he says, as softly as he can.Â
You face away from him, gaze flickering up to the window again, and you start moving away, but he holds you firmly in place with both hands on your waist.Â
âLee. Tell me what it is.â
Seconds turn into minutes, the only sound in the room that of the ceiling fanâs motor, and the pain grows stronger, pulsating from his neck to his gut. Your eyes remain trained on the window, lost somewhere beyond the curtains.Â
âI had several more like this,â you start. Your tone is detached, your voice distant. âSmaller ones. On the back of my arms. When I was 17, my mother took me to a dermatologist. He removed them with laser treatment.âÂ
You pause, and look down at him.Â
âShe got me fixed, so I could find a good husband.â
His fingers dig into your flesh. Itâs a full minute before he remembers to breathe, through his nose, because he canât unclench his jaw. The chest pain turns into blinding, white-hot rage. His truck is parked outside and in his mind, the sequence of actions is crystal clear. Get you dressed. Get you in the cab. Drive away with you as far as the road goes, and never come back here.Â
âIt burnt like helââ
âYouâre perfect, you know that?â he cuts in.Â
âIâm really not, Frankie,â you calmly answer. âWhat I am is a coward.â
He sits up with a cinch, cupping your face so you canât recoil from him. Somehow, this would be easier if you looked upset. If you were crying. Showing any kind of emotion, really. But youâre far beyond that.Â
âI canât let you say that. Not when you risk everything to come here every week.â
âAlright, so Iâm a selfish coward,â you say with a joyless little smile.Â
âNo. Youâre perfect. Youâre my perfect girl. Say it.â
Itâs there. Your unbending will, your steel-hard determination. In your defiant gaze and your pinched lips. In the distance you're trying to put between your body and his.Â
âOkay, fine. Donât say it. Iâll keep repeating it until you believe me. I can be fucking persistent, you know?â he adds, falling back onto the pillows.
âI know you can,â you say, lifting a leg off the bed.
âYouâre not going anywhere,â he nearly growls, a bruising grip on your thigh, âIâm not done with you.â
His clipped tone appears to be more effective on you. You sit back down, let your shoulders relax, and the palm of your hands find his skin again. Distant gaze, cold touch.
âWhatâs this one?â he asks, the blunt fingernail of his thumb grazing the grid-shaped scar on your left knee, his tone barely a question, and to his surprise, you come alive with a spark in your eyes.Â
âOh! This oneâs a good scar. I like it.â
You adjust your position over him, slotting your folds over his resting cock, and a coiling heat stirs in his loin.
âI had a bicycle when I was a kid. The most beautiful bicycle in the entire world. Red, the exact same shade as your truck. With a round cushion protection on the frame, I donât know how you call that, and the letters MBK painted in white over it, you know the kind?â
He nods, and you continue talking.Â
âI would spend hours riding it. I would disappear for entire afternoons. It was heaven. And maybe youâre not going to believe me, but I was pretty reckless on that thing.â
âOh, I believe you.â
Youâre smiling again.Â
âWell, one day, I was too reckless. I hit the brakes too abruptly and I skidded over gravel. I flew ten feet away from the bike and I tore my knee open. I got home covered in blood, my parents were furious.â
A vengeful smile curves your lips, one heâs never seen on your face.
âThey confiscated the bike. My mother said it wasnât ladylike, and my father saidâ I canât remember his exact words, probably 'you canât damage my property,â or something along those lines. They never let me on a bike again after that.â
âHowâs that a happy story?â he frowns.
âI didnât say it was a happy story. I said itâs a good scar. I got to keep this one. It reminds me of what Iâm capable of. Even when I want to forget.âÂ
The sun is rising. A new day colors the sky in vivid bronze. The light filters into the room through the yellow curtains, dust particles suspended in the air, suspended like Frankieâs life when he canât be with you.Â
He should leave, but instead, heâs going to fuck you one more time. Pump you full of his come. Brand you with his essence, mark you as his in the only way he can before he has to let you go back to face those people who put murder on his mind.
His hands skim along your thighs to the swell of your ass, roughly kneading the round of your cheeks. His grip settles on your hips, and he bucks up into you, ever so lightly, his length hardening between your lips. He sees it on your face, on your profile bathed in the first ray of sunlight. The moment when you register his intention. The shift in your body, the echo to his desire. So powerful, so immediate, itâs almost like black magic. Your mouth parts open, your back arches. You press down on him.Â
âThat serves him well, your father,â he says, sliding you slowly over his cock.
âHowâs that?â you ask, voice laced with lust.Â
âLook what youâre riding now.â
â
The pillow is damp underneath your back, sweat exuding from your every pore. The last days of March have been unforgiving. You find yourself longing for a room with a proper air conditioning system, instead of the motelâs weak, outdated fan that only swishes hot air.Â
Frankieâs searing touch doesnât help. Stroking the back of your arm in a repetitive up-and-down motion, heâs laying across the bed, his head resting heavy on your lap, his long hair curling in every direction in this sweltering atmosphere.Â
Instead of shying away from the discomfort, you embrace it. With your fingers twined in his locks, you lean into his touch, focusing on his high forehead, and the crease in his brow. On his long eyelashes, the curve of his lips as he speaks, the working of his throat.Â
Ignoring the dark blue rectangle of night sky, gradually lightening up behind the musty curtains.
Dawn used to be a deliverance. From your thoughts that the night painted black. From the wait, when Adrian wouldnât come back. From a forced rest that never really came, another disappointment, another let down, another part of your life requiring the artificial help of chemicals.Â
Now, you resent it. Dawn is when Frankie leaves you behind to go back to his family. Dawn is when heâs the happiest, with his child, without you, in a realm over which you have no grasp.Â
A rational part of you acknowledges that itâs easier if he leaves before the sun rises. It prevents you from yearning for things youâre afraid to want. Things you cannot have. A life with him in broad daylight. A life without shame.Â
Recently, heâs become increasingly reluctant to let go of you. Dawn finds him wrapped around your body. Last week, he stayed past daybreak, and fucked you in the sunlight.Â
The brighter tone of his skin, the lighter shade of his curls, the depth of his mahogany irises hit by a sunbeam, everything was like a knife through your chest.
âLee?â
The caressing timber of his husky voice brings you back to the soft amber light from the dusty lampshades, to the humming fan, and the blue rectangle.Â
âIâm sorry. What were you saying?â
âI asked if you like it. Your job.âÂ
âGod no, I hate it! Sales productivity statistics and accounting manager, can you picture me?â
He huffs his breathless chuckle, the one that sends tremors rippling through your chest.Â
âNot really, no.â
âIâm terrible at it, and itâs a problem, but no one says anything because daddy runs the company. I donât understand why he insists on maintaining me in this position. Itâs like a power play. He needs me to be miserable.â
Frankieâs hand pauses, fingers digging into your flesh, and he cranes his neck to peer at your face. You give him a reassuring smile. A genuine one.Â
âIs that what you studied at university? Accounting and statistics?â
You wipe your sweaty brow with the back of your hand, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
âYes. But university was a golden parenthesis. I minored in Russian literature. Not a skill that easily translates to the employment market, but Richard was thoroughly pissed,â you say, wiggling your eyebrows.Â
âMy little punk.â
His smile is brighter than the midday sun. Your index finger darts to the dimple in his right cheek.Â
âI really like this,â you whisper, your voice dropping, thick with heat and arousal. With affection. âAnd these,â you add, scraping your fingernail over the bare patches on each side of his jaw.Â
âMmh. Iâve noticed,â he says with a smug expression.Â
âOh, you have?â You try to laugh off your embarrassment, but what comes out is a quivering sound, betraying the want that hinders your throat.Â
He grabs your hand and brings it to his mouth, closing his plush lips around your index finger, wrapping his tongue around it. Your belly quakes. You clench around nothing.Â
He releases your hand, and you hope heâll get up and move over you, but instead, he reaches for your arm again, resuming his rhythmic strokes.Â
âSo what would you do, if you didnât do this?â he asks.Â
You sigh, glancing up, and you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror above the desk.Â
âIâve no idea, really. I never allowed myself to consider the possibility.â And before he can prod any further, you add, âWhat about you? What would you have liked to do, if you hadnât become a pilot?â
The diversion doesnât fool him, you know it. Youâre acutely aware of his gaze, scrutinizing your face. You picture the familiar, pensive frown. His hand leaves your arm as he suddenly gets up, air hitting your damp skin where his head was lying.Â
A few strides, and he steps into the bathroom, disappearing behind the partition wall. The tap runs for a moment, and thereâs the distinct sound of wrung out fabric before he comes out, holding the hand towel.Â
You watch him walk back toward you, his naked body glistening with sweat, highlighted in shadows in the warm lighting. You think about how beautiful it is, about your extensive, intimate knowledge of it. How it feels under your touch, every single part of him. How this knowledge is now constituent of the woman you have become.Â
You know the callousness of his palms that catches at your clothes. You know the silkiness of his curls around your fingers, the smoothness of his chest against your breasts, the taste of his mouth and the bobbing of his pebbled throat between your lips. The thicker skin of his shoulders, tanned and freckled. The coarseness of the darker hairs under his navel, and how they feel rubbing at your clit. You know the weight of his cock in your hand, on your tongue, inside your walls.Â
And if you know all this, then, isnât he yours?Â
He circles the bed over to your side, by the window, and sits next to you.Â
Delicately, his fingers circle your wrist. He lifts your arm, and brings your hand to his lips, nuzzling the relaxed curl of your fingers open, to press a kiss inside your palm. His eyes briefly flicker shut as he inhales the transparent skin of your inner wrist.Â
Lowering your arm, he starts running the towel along it and you jolt at the contact of the cold, wet fabric, letting out a short whimpering sound.
The sensation is sudden, seizing like an electrical shock, but the relief is immediate. The coolness radiates on the surface of your feverish skin, soothing your thoughts. Eyes fluttering shut, you relax into it.Â
âMaybe an architect,â he starts, the towel gliding up to your shoulder, âor a carpenter. Build stuff, for a change. Instead of destroying them.â
Goosebumps break out along your arms, on your nape, as he skims the towel over the plane of your chest in slow, meticulous movements. As he rounds your breasts with reverent care, one, then the other, your nipples tightening in peaked buds, the low rumble of his voice filling your mind, his words boring into your heart.
The towel brushes up, tracing your collarbone, left, then right. Higher along the column of your throat, curling to the side of your neck. A droplet of water rolls down between your breasts, running along your stomach to end its course into your navel. You sigh.
âI could⌠run a small business, building houses or crafting furniture. In a small town, somewhere up north. Somewhere with seasons,â he says.Â
The towel wipes over your trembling belly, over your mound, down your inner thigh. Heâs slow, precise, thorough. Careful and gentle with your limp limbs. Youâre sinking into the mattress, and floating over it all at once.Â
You lift a heavy eyelid, your dazed gaze landing on his gorgeous face. Heâs solemn, focused on his task.Â
He readjusts his position on the mattress, so lightly the bed barely moves, and twists his torso to reach down your leg.Â
âYou could be my accountant.â
Your eyes shoot open. Heâs facing away from you, wiping the towel under the arch of your foot.
âThe last thing you want is to have me as your bookkeeper,â you whisper, your heart beating in your throat.Â
He turns around, looking straight at you. Soft sad eyes, cold hard stare.Â
âThatâs all I want for the rest of my life, Lee. Be with you night and day.â
â
Everything seems to hinge on you now.Â
His balance, his happiness, his redemption.
You filled a void, a hollowness inside his chest, he carries you with him wherever he goes. A pale shade of yellow and celadon green.Â
He tries to convince himself itâs harmless. That heâs not doing anything wrong. That itâs easier this way. Easier than the drugs, easier than placing that burden on his daughterâs shoulders. He tells himself the peace you bring him makes him a better man, and a better father. Makes him worthy again. There might even be some truth to it.Â
Heâs not so sure if he deserves the second chance. If he deserves the parts of you that you confide in him. Your past, your regrets, your secret victories. Your hindered aspirations and the shores of your inner island, within his reach. The touch of your cool skin. The strength of your embrace. The veneration in your eyes. Your trust, your faith. Your time.Â
But he wants to believe it. Itâs more of a fundamental need, really.Â
And as long as heâs with you, the illusion holds. When youâre sitting next to him in the truck, singing along to the tunes playing on the old crackling stereo as he drives to nowhere, when his bodyâs wrapped around yours in the dark, when he murmurs against your temple everything and anything that runs through his mind, when youâre coming undone between his hold, with his name on your lips. He believes he can be as good for you as you are for him.Â
But itâs a thin fabric. One that tears the very minute he steps outside the room, leaving your sleepy form tucked under the starchy sheet.Â
Day after day, until the next week, heâs left on his own to fence off the thoughts that plague him.Â
The voice inside him, relentless, somber, asking how much longer this can last. How long before the consequences on your life are irreversible? How long until that man whoâs not your husband finds out, and takes action? What repercussions would you face, then?Â
He knows what heâd be capable of if he ever met him. He doesnât like to think about it.Â
You wonât open up about your life with him, no matter how much he prods and pry. He knows your strength. And he chose to trust it.
Seven months, and one week. He sat down with the cardboard calendar hanging above Lupeâs desk at work, and counted. His mind crowded, overflowing with what ifs.Â
What if he took you out of this shitty motel, for once? Not just to drive into the night, but on a proper date. Dinner. A movie. Fucking lunch. A weekend somewhere. An entire vacation.Â
What if he took you out of your life?Â
Lupe started dating this Marcus guy back in December. Now sheâs staying at his place every other night. The man is decent, one of the best paramedics heâs worked with, honest, reliable and steadfast. The kind of man Lupe deserves, and that he doesnât mind around Lua.Â
He should move out of the house. Lupe hasnât said anything yet, but itâs just one more grace she gives him that he hasnât earned. Every time they see each other, Will hints at it, the allusions becoming increasingly less subtle.Â
The truth is, he sees no point in moving forward with his life if itâs not with you. If itâs not to take care of you, and provide for you. Watch you thrive, keep you safe. Â
A couple of weeks back, when heâd first thought about it, heâd deemed the idea crazy, painfully aware of all the frustrations a coupleâs daily life entails.Â
Now, itâs the only choice that makes any sense to him.Â
â
The airport terminal is bustling with flocks of tourists. Noisy families with children too young to travel, transient businessmen and women, groups of youths of dubious soberness flying out after spring break.Â
Ava stands out in the crowd, her tall frame topped with a short bob of bright purple hair, and you spot her immediately. Standing on your tiptoes, you wave at her until she sees you and starts running in your direction.
She all but leaps into your open arms, and you both grab at each other, leaning into the embrace, laughing. You inhale her scent, searching for that baby smell in the crook of her neck.
âOh my god, pup, your hair!â you exclaim. âYou look terrific!â
âYeah? You like it?â she asks with a broad smile, running her fingers through her locks.Â
âI love it! Itâs perfect for you!â
In turn, she takes you in, looking you up and down, and lets out a low whistling sound.
âYou look good, too. You look better than good. You look gorgeous!â
âOh shush,â you gesture bashfully, but you canât hold back your own smile.
The two of you walk to the parking lot to retrieve your car, immersed in bubbly conversation, oblivious to the moving crowds around you.
Driving out of the airport, you glance at the sign indicating the 589 northbound and smile at your precious secret, before making a left turn south.
âWhere are you taking me?â she asks, âIâm hungry! Feed me! Feedmefeedmefeedme!â she chants, before breaking into a high-pitched giggle.
âAlright, alright! Hold tight, Iâm taking you somewhere special. Do you like burritos?â
âWho doesnât like burritos? Wait, what? Burritos? Do you even eat burritos? Who are you and what have you done with my sister?â
You had to type the address from the crumpled receipt into your GPS. Until today, youâve never allowed yourself to go there. Not on your own.
Itâs a small cantina with tiled walls and concrete floors, colorful trinkets arranged in pyramidal displays behind the counter, chalkboard menus and an endless list of drinks. Star-shaped lanterns are hanging from the ceiling, and the staff is busy but jovial.
Lunchtime on a Saturday, the place is packed with couples and kids, and your pulse accelerates. You hadnât considered the possibility of running into Frankie and his family.Â
You place your orders, and after a short wait, you secure a spot in the back of the restaurant. Sitting on high metal stools behind a round table, you catch up on the past three months as if you hadnât texted every other day, speaking with your mouths full, sauce dripping down your fingers.
The life sheâs built for herself in New York treats Ava better than anything you could have hoped for, anything you could have helped her achieve, had she stayed here. A job in a cutting-edge art gallery, where her vibrant personality and her flair for networking are not only recognized but valued, a bustling social life, more thrilling projects than you can keep track of, all of it balanced by Pollyâs grounding presence by her side.Â
Your choices and sacrifices, justified.
Ava puts down the crumbling remnants of her vegetarian burrito to wipe her mouth, and takes a sip of her margarita.
âYou sure you donât want to drink anything?â
âIâm drinking something,â you answer, pointing at your iced tea.
âWhatever you say, girl,â she shrugs.
âItâs too bad youâre not staying with me. Itâs idiotic, youâre only here for a couple of days and you have to sleep over at Julesâ.â
âListen, even if your douchebag of a fiancĂŠ had agreed to have me, which I know he didnât, I donât want to see his ass face.â
âAlright,â you concede, âvalid.â
She nearly chokes on her margarita. Setting her glass down, she gives you a pointed stare, emphatically scrutinizing your face.
âOkay, seriously, whatâs going on with you? How are you? I mean, thatâs obviously the wrong question, youâre fucking thriving. What happened? Whatâs happening? New medication? Are you finally leaving him?â
âIâm not taking any medication,â you answer with unexpected satisfaction. âBut no, Iâm not leaving him.â
You catch yourself before you can add another word.Â
âAre you still seeing that other guy?â
You nod, dipping your head, heat creeping up your neck. Why are you like this?
âI take it he likes burritos, am I right?
âYou are correct in your assumption, detective,â you quip with a grin.
Thereâs a pause as Ava seems to consider her next question. Itâs always so easy for you to forget that sheâs a grownup now. That she knows you at least as well as you know her. That she has the capacity to outsmart you. The notion flares pride in your chest.
âIs he married? Is that why you havenât run off together in the sunset yet?â
âIâm not sure if heâs married or not.â
âWhat does he do in life?â
âI donât know.â
Ava throws up her hands.Â
âGirl! What do you know?â she exclaims with only half-feigned exasperation.
I know whatâs important. Heâs a father. Heâs a friend and a brother. A pilot and a veteran. He's thoughtful and observant. Heâs organized and practical. And a reluctant sentimental. He learned to swim in the Pacific Ocean. Heâs capable of cold-blooded violence, but it will break him. Heâs capable of infinite tenderness. And it will save him.Â
You pull a face, communicating how little you care about what you donât know. Your sister shifts on the hard stool. She frowns, and when she speaks next, her voice is low, her tone conspiratorial. Â
âAdrian doesnât suspect anything?â
âOf course, he does. Or he did. His attention is elsewhere, for now. Seems serious.â
âAgain?â
âAgain,â you nod.Â
Ava squirms on her stool again, probably trying to restrain her temper.Â
Your mind wanders, jumping back through time at light-speed, to when you first met Adrian. To the way he used to hold your hand when you started dating, squeezing your fingers with his. Letting you choose the wine, opening doors for you. To the affection in his smile, and how fast he started calling you babe . The glimmer warming his cold blue eyes when he introduced you to his family. The way he leaves the bathroom mirror splattered in toothpaste every time he brushes his teeth. The way he lets his alarm ring off forever after heâs gotten up even if youâre still in bed, even on weekends.Â
The ease with which he admitted to all his flings, whenever you confronted him, but never confessed to the one with his coworker, the ambitious young lawyer.Â
Would you admit to having an affair? Would you use that ugly word that make you crawl out of your skin? Would you deny it? Could you answer No, Iâm not seeing anyone? Could you bear the betrayal of denying Frankieâs existence? The truth of what you share, but canât define?
âYour fiancĂŠ is a bag of dicks,â Ava finally says, shaking her head.Â
âHis obliviousness suits me for now,â you remind her. Â
âI donât understand why you donât leave him,â she snaps back, forsaking her reserve. âHe got his big promotion, he got what he wanted! And Richard loves him, itâs not like heâs going to fire him just because you two broke up, right? You donât really love him anymore, do you?â she adds on second thoughts. Â
The words spill out of you unchecked, once more. Just like in the truck with Frankie, back in January. Months, years for the idea to mature below the surface of your conscious thoughts, the reflective process unbeknown to you.Â
âIâm scared, Ava. Iâm scared shitless. I want to leave. Iâve been wanting to leave for so long. Adrian, the company, that fucking ugly apartment.âÂ
âWell then fucking do it, Lee!â
âIf I leave, I have nothing. No job, nowhere to go.âÂ
And if you could give up a relatively comfortable life, would you be able to renounce the refuge of your sadness? Of your life between the folds?Â
âYou have money,â Ava counters. âYou have shares. Sell them. Richard canât stop you. Get a lawyer, if you have to. One thatâs not on Adrianâs payroll. And then you can fuck your man Friday every day of the week, howâs that?â
You think about the folded bedspread under the windowsill. About the wet hand towel brushing up your skin. The trucker hat on the desk, and his fingers splayed on the steering wheel. The pleading arch of his brow.Â
You think about that space between Frankieâs chin and collarbone, that contains your safety, your desires, and all of your hopes.
âI donât⌠I donât know if I should leave a man for another one,â you whisper.Â
Avaâs eyes widen. She sits up straight, a smirk tugging the corner of her lips.Â
âI donât know either, but it looks like this one fucked some sense into you. The irony.âÂ
Sheâs withholding something, you realize. Itâs in her uncharacteristic pauses, her sideways glances. Surprisingly, human interactions were simpler when pills kept you numbed and oblivious. Being attuned to everyoneâs minute expressions is a daily trial.Â
âWhy donât you move to New York with us?â she eventually asks. âWe can take you in until you find a job there, for as long as you need.â
Thereâs that we again. People talking about you in your absence, judging your choices, plotting your future.Â
âI donât know how to do anything, Ava. I have zero skills.âÂ
âFirst off, thatâs not true,â she retorts, relentless with her well-rehearsed arguments. âAnd then, Polly can help you find something. Lee, if you can leave this company, thereâs literally nothing you canât do.â
Suddenly, you feel exhausted. Weary and old. A bone-deep lassitude. And at the heart of it, the realization that this is a liminal sequence in your life.Â
âIs that why you flew here for the weekend? To ask me to come away with you?â
âAre you mad?â she asks with a face. A little girlâs expression, afraid of being scolded. Your little girl.Â
âNo, Iâm not mad, pup. I canât be mad. You came back for me.â
âOf course, I came back for you. I was never going to leave you behind, silly.â

FANFICTION Melissa Schemmenti x Reader
Melissa Schemmenti never imagined that a simple vacation away from Abbott Elementary would take her to one of the most vibrant and enchanting places in the world: Rio de Janeiro. She needed a break, and a distant friend had mentioned that Brazil was perfect for relaxing. Between the sunny days and the sound of the ocean, she had something different in mind than what â or who â she ended up finding.
It was on a warm, sultry night, after a long day at the beach, that Melissa wandered into a bar in Lapa, drawn by the sound of a local band playing soft, captivating music, something she couldnât quite identify yet. The language was different, but the melody and rhythm were universal. She sat at the bar, her eyes fixed on the band.
âFirst time hearing MPB?â a soft voice asked beside her. She turned, her eyes meeting yours.
You were a Carioca, with an easy smile and a contagious energy. Your hair was loose, catching the breeze, and your relaxed posture showed someone who felt at home in the moment.
âMPB?â Melissa asked, her brow furrowing as she tried to get used to the musical cadence of the Portuguese language.
âBrazilian Popular Music,â you explained, your smile widening. âThese songs are part of the soul here.â
Melissa smiled, intrigued. âThereâs something about this sound⌠It reminds me of the old songs I grew up listening to, but with a different twist.â
You nodded, leaning in a little closer. âThatâs the magic of Brazil. Every beat tells a story. Want me to introduce you to some of the best?â
Melissa was never one to shy away from new experiences â it was the Schemmenti spirit. âWhy not? Go ahead.â
You ordered another round of drinks, and within minutes, the band started playing a song you knew was a classic. âThatâs Rita Lee,â you said reverently. âSheâs one of Brazilâs greatest voices. A rebel, passionate, a true force of nature.â
Melissa let the sound wash over her, the beats and lyrics blending into the warm night air. She watched you, the way you spoke about each song, each singer as if they were old friends. There was something about how you connected with the music that stirred something deep inside her.
âYou really love this, donât you?â Melissa commented, smiling softly at the scene.
âAbsolutely,â you admitted. âMusic here is like oxygen. We grow up with it, itâs part of who we are. Itâs hard not to fall in love with it⌠and with this place.â
Melissa smiled back, but she knew it wasnât just the music or the place that was grabbing her attention. It was you â your passion, your enthusiasm, your authenticity.
The days that followed were a blur of beaches, laughter, and nights full of music. Each day, you introduced Melissa to something new â Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil â and each song seemed to dig deeper into her soul. But between the waves of sound, she felt something growing. A connection, something she hadnât expected to find here, thousands of miles away from home.
On one of the last nights of her trip, you found yourselves on Ipanema beach, the soft sound of the waves mixing with the distant strumming of a street musician playing âOvelha Negra.â
âIâm going to miss this,â Melissa said, her voice soft, almost lost in the wind. âAll of it.â
You smiled, but there was a touch of melancholy. âYou can always come back. Rio will be here, and so will the music.â
She looked at you, and in that moment, everything became clear. âItâs not just Rio Iâll missâŚâ
Your eyebrows raised, your heart racing as you absorbed the meaning of her words. Melissa, always direct, had let her guard down completely. And without hesitation, you leaned in, your lips meeting hers in a kiss that was soft and full of promise.
The music in the background continued, the slow, steady rhythm like the beat of two hearts that, for a brief moment, had found each other under the Rio de Janeiro sky.

Pairing:
Emmett x Abbott!Reader
Summary:
When the world ended, she couldnât stop thinking about the man who she would always talk to at the baseball games, wondering if she would ever see him again.

Warning(s): SMUT. Age gap (Emmett is in his late 30s and Reader is in her early 20s). Both POVs. Minor angst (barely). Slight degradation. Thigh grinding. Praise kink. Breeding kink. Flashbacks in italics. Minors, dni! Note: Emmett is single and does not have children. I also tweaked some of the events from the movie in this as well as giving the Colony leader a name because I donât recall if they ever did.
Word Count: 5.7k

Y/N Abbott was walking through the bustling crowd as she could smell the hot charcoal heating up hot dogs and hamburgers to the point it smelled charred.
It was the summer when she came back from her junior year at a university in Chicago.
She heard her name being called; she turned her head to see her mom walking towards her with a small smile. âHey Y/N, your dad wants you over there with Regan and Beau.âÂ
Y/N turned her head to see Regan waving at her along with her dad at the stands; Beau was idling by them, playing with a toy he had in his hand. She chuckled, shaking her head fondly. âAlright,â she murmured softly, turning her head at her mom in acknowledgment before striding over to where they were.
She walked up the stands, maneuvering between spots she could fit through so she could sit by her family. She ruffled Beauâs hair as she passed him, Regan reached out and tugged her hand firmly to sit next to her.
Y/N grinned, âyou got something you want to say?â She signed to her sister as she eased herself down onto the cool metal bench.Â
Regan shook her head, ringlets bounced along with the movement. âI canât tell you right now, but I will later.â She signed back to her quickly.
Y/N tilted her head slightly, âoh. You got me curious now. Is it about a guy?â She signed discreetly, asking her the typical question that every teenager experienced at least once in their lifetime.
Her sister nodded her head in a quick affirmative action.Â
Y/N smirked before dragging her attention from her sister to her brother, Marcus who was waiting in the line for his turn to bat.
âOi! Lee, whoâs this?â A curious but loud voice could be heard from behind her.
She turned her head to see there was a man sitting at the top row of the metal tiered bleacher with some sort of shortwave radio placed next to him.
Her dad chuckled beside them, âyou havenât seen her until now because she didnât want to be around us anymore, but this is the oldest Abbott.â He grinned with mirth in his eyes as he explained in a form of a joke causing Y/N to roll her eyes.
âDadâŚâ she muttered, feeling a secondhand embarrassment from the introductory speech before she focused on the man before her.
He was wearing the dark colored cap with a denim blue form fitting dress shirt; a tattoo could be seen peeking out on his upper bicep underneath his shirt. However, what drew her attention was how intense of the color of his eyes.
Icy blue.Â
She could feel her cheeks staining in slight pink when she noticed that he was raking his eyes over her, a small but genuine smile as he raised his hand to her in a form of a handshake.
She reached out, clasping it with hers. His skin was calloused in some areas which told her that he had done some extensive labor for a living.Â
âIâm Y/N,â she said quietly.
His eyes were piercing as he spoke to her with a low voice, ânice to meet you, Iâm Emmett.â
She nodded in acknowledgment before releasing his hand, turning her face to the baseball field in front of her.
Y/N didnât think someone like him would pique her interest since he resembled to one of those mechanic guys at the only mechanic shop in Millbrook town. However, her eyes kept straying from the baseball field to him every now and then as she kept telling herself he did not fit in her type.
On day four hundred and seventy-four, Y/N found herself nearly yelping when she felt a hand wrapped around her mouth, her eyes widened in sheer terror in response when she saw a man in a filthy but familiar cap and rugged bandana covering half of his face.
He whispered inaudibly into her ear, shushing her very gently. âI got you.âÂ
She immediately recognized his voice, being able to place the owner as Emmett. The man who never left her mind.
She swallowed and nodded, somehow looking at him gave her a sense of relief, then he took her where he sent her mom and her siblings down in the underground of the foundry as they hid from one of the Death Angels as what her dad and the media called them such as.
She could tell what happened to him for four hundred and seventy-four days had left him with a severe cynical outlook on life, so jaded that he would say that people werenât the same anymore ever since what happened on day one.
It was all in his eyes. The sense of tiredness, caution, and coldness in his depths.
Not without a slight regret when his gaze were on her as he told her mom that they could not stay here.
And not without a sense of disappointment she felt when she realized she may never see him again when they leave after the dawn began to break.
Only the rest of the day and night then they would need to disappear in the morning.
It wasnât until late at night when her sister woke her up with a brief touch on her shoulder.
Y/N was once a heavy sleeper until the death angels invaded the Earth and now, she woke up to random little noises wondering if it was her last moment.Â
Her eyes blinked blearily to see Regan beckoning her towards the vault. She looked around the dark dinky space after she propped herself up from her spot, observing her mom as she slept next to the makeshift crib and Marcus was sleeping on the floor by it as well.
She then walked across the space quietly before climbing in the vault, closing the heavy circular door, only leaving a few inches before turning to face her sister.
Regan was sitting at the end of the vault with the dimmed lantern, a map of New York  in front of her and the radio next to her. âI have an idea.â She signed to her, eyes peering at her expectantly.Â
Y/N gave her the green light to express her idea as she sat there. Regan began to animatedly sign with eyes lightening up, pointing at a nearby island miles off the mainland of New York, referring to the potential connection of the song Beyond the Sea to the radio tower where the survivors were able to reside at. Theorizing that if she could travel across the water and use her cochlear implant to help to emit the high frequency signals to weaponize against the creatures roaming on Earth.
Y/N was already shaking her head, immediately rejecting the idea. âYou canât go,â she signed firmly.Â
A pause as Regan stared at her, then displeasure rang in her eyes.Â
Before she could respond, Y/N signed emphatically, âmom would worry about you whether if youâre in one piece or not. She has a baby to consider now, and she canât take care of him if she worries about you.â
âThen you do it.â Reganâs hands were expressing her defiance sharply.
Her instinctive response was to say no because she did not want to leave her family behind. What if something were to happen to them while she was gone? What if something happened to her if she ventured out on her own.
She was going to tell her no until her dadâs scream echoed in her head. She paused; her dad wouldâve wanted her to do it. To give the humanity a better chance of living after everything had been said and done.
After packing a few things that was required for survival. She placed the backpack on her back as she looked at her sister by the opening space of the foundry facing the direction they wouldâve gone to if it had not been for the surprise bear trap and Emmett.
The moonlight was casting shadows on them, illuminating the darkness that the light hadnât reached.
âYou swear to not say anything and pretend not to know where Iâm going?â She asked, eyebrows raising.
Regan nodded firmly; her pinky finger held out in front of her. Y/N sighed with a small smile before raising her pinky finger to return the gesture, clasping around hers loosely then she was gone, returning to the underground.
She inhaled softly, looking at the other direction where she knew Emmett was residing above the abandoned factory as he watched over the overgrown grass covering railroads before returning her gaze back to the other side.Â
When the dawn broke the horizons, symbolizing four hundred and seventy-five days since the day one, Emmett ventured down the tower before returning to the underground. He heard the rushed footsteps below him as he climbed down the steel ladder.
âY/N is gone,â Evelyn whispered frantically, eyes glimmering with slight panic. His jaw clenched down in fear, if he had more strength added to his jaw, he wouldâve had an astounding dental bill.Â
Stoically, he stared at the blonde-haired woman while he was dealing with the simmering fear that was causing an inner turmoil in his mind.
She continued, âShe mustâve left in the middle of the night when we were sleeping. I donât know where she went.âÂ
His eyes strayed from her as she continued to talk, landing on the children who were watching him with skepticism and caution. The young boy was hovering the baby as he checked on him. However, the teenaged girl was gnawing her bottom lip as her eyes barely twitched which was a dead giveaway as if she was unfazed by the news. His gut instinct had rattled at the sight of her.
A simple of the fact Regan was hiding something which meant she knew where Y/N was going.
Paper rustling slightly as Y/N aimed a flashlight at the map to see how far she ended up going from the Foundry to the abandoned building on the side of the railroad. Squinting her eyes at the words as it was eerily dark and the bright light from the metal object was not helping a bit.
Her head snapped to the right when she heard a slightest noise from somewhere. It wasnât loud enough for a creature to come, but she knew it had meant something was lurking in the darkness.
She slowly pushed herself up from the wooden floor, standing as she aimed the flashlight in specific corners of the building.
She swallowed as the noise edged closer to where she was at.
All of sudden, a large hand clasped over her mouth and the other hand wrapped around her waist as their arm pushed them into a broad chest. Lips pressing against her ear, whispering into it before she could struggle. âHey, hey, itâs me.â The hushed sound of his voice made her relax in his hold as she sighed inaudibly into his palm. His skin felt warm against her lips as he hadnât released her from his chest.
Then he whispered gruffly, his fingers dug into her skin lightly as to emphasize his emotional turmoil. âWhy the fuck would you leave?âÂ
She told him the idea her sister had with her cochlear implant. Explaining everything that occurred earlier in the morning before she left. She pointed at the map, trailing her finger from the location of where they were at to the island where Reganâs theory had a chance to be proven.
The sun rays were shining through the dirty windows the next day as she was shaken on the shoulder by a heavy movement, she opened her eyes confused until she saw him above, kneeling next to her. He mouthed that he found the Marina where the boats would reside at.
The sun was setting below the horizon by the time they arrived at the bridge before he helped her to prop herself up on the steel beam of the bridge so she could see what Emmett had found.
There were ships and boats docked at the harbor in the distance, resembling hope that they were closer to finding a solution to the end of Death Angels.
Before the world fell apart that day, she was on the edge of her seat watching the baseball game.Â
âHey, Y/N. I have a question for you.â A voice spoke up from behind her, and her lips curled before settling in a blank expression when she turned her head to see Emmett looking at her with a grin on his face.
âWhat is it?âÂ
âHow do you sign the word dive?â Emmett asked, blue eyes shining with mischief and curiosity.Â
She pursed her lips as she raised one of her eyebrows, âIâm going to need more context than that. Are you referring to swimming or a situation related?â
âWhatever you want to show me, sweetheart.â He said it casually, shrugging.Â
Her breathing hitched slightly; red stained her skin in response. He only said the word âsweetheartâ whenever her family were not around them.Â
She cleared her throat, chuckling slightly. âSituation wise, I would just spell the word or explain it differently in sign language. You, however, are not ready for the spelling part.â He let out a low rumbling of laughter at her teasing. She ignored how her heart went pitter patter as she continued, âswimming wise, you just do this.â She demonstrated the sign for the word he requested.
He mimicked the sign in the exact form, and she nodded, a little pleased. Realizing she was a little too pleased that she had to look away due to the indescribable expression on his face with unknown emotions in his orbs as he stared at her.
He could tell she was angry at him for how he was barely reacting, stoically looking at her. Oh, but his eyes were glimmering in pure feral rage at the treatment as one of the rugged filthy bandits dragged her down the wooden dock, away from him.
No one touched her and got away with it, not on his watch.Â
He internally beckoned for her to look back at him, and somehowâŚsomehow his prayer was answered when she turned her head to look at him once again, and he immediately clasped his palms together in a form of prayer, but he pushed his hands upwards, tilting forward before aiming down in a curve to resemble a diving position. The one thing he had always remembered before death came calling for thousands. Her eyes once twinkled in amusement as she taught him how to sign the word dive.
Who knew he wouldâve been signing the same word over almost two years later, and he was filled with a sense of relief when she realized what his game plan was in terms of getting them out of the danger.
She struggled with the man who was holding her in a death grip until they edged closer to the edge of the dock before she pushed against him and threw herself into the water.
Emmett charged at him, wrapping the fishnet around his neck before maneuvering him to the metal pole, tying it to the point it had the man choking on the material around his neck.
He knew he had to get rid of the others. He couldâve left them alone he supposed but after what happened with Y/N, he wasnât going to let them live, and there was only one way to do it.
He pulled out the weapon out of his pocket, and immediately felt a twisted sense of satisfaction of stabbing the hunting knife into the manâs thigh before twisting it in his flesh, relishing in his screams.
Once he spotted a Death Angel charging towards them while destroying the others, he released his hand off the handle of the weapon, moving away from the wounded man, and lunged himself off the dock, into the cold water below.
The chopped wood were crackling and burning in the fire pit as Y/N used the spoon to scoop the hot liquid with chopped vegetables before bringing it to her mouth. She hadnât had a true decent soup that didnât come straight out of the metal can in a long while.Â
There were sounds of laughter and animated words shifting the surrounding which she was not used to. She was used to the quiet and few moments of screams during their final moments, and now she was sitting in front of the bonfire as people were being lively as if Death Angels had not arrived to destroy those moments.
She felt a sensation of someoneâs eyes boring into the side of her head, and she dragged her gaze from the bowl to see Emmett sitting across from her, observing her with a small quirk of his lips graced on his face. When they arrived the Island, they were able to take a shower and clean up themselves, and with the option being available to him, he was able to trim his beard which made it more tame rather than unruly.Â
She looked away shyly, focusing on her soup once more. Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed Emmett standing up from his spot from her peripheral vision before he walked over to where she was sitting at.
She cleared her throat when he sat down next to her, placing the wool blanket on her that was originally wrapped around him. âThank you.â She mumbled before putting down the ceramic bowl onto the bench next to her. It had felt weird speaking without mouthing the words or whispering.
He was shaking his head, âno need to thank me.â He mumbled, staring into the firepit before looking at her. âRegan was right, and-â
âWe were wrong?â She asked lightly, looking at him. âDonât be too hard on yourself, I almost thought of her to be wrong too.â She smiled wryly, âyou couldnât anything but not believe after everything that had happened.â
The next day the Colony leader, Darius took them to the radio station building to test her sisterâs theory by placing the cochlear implant next to the broadcaster signal after wiring it to the microphone.
Darius informed her gently that if they were to stay on the island permanently, there were several options for living.
A few cabins in the woods up north of the island and a beach house on the east shore.
âI would like to go for the beach house,â she blurted out, blushing when she realized that she sounded a bit too thrilled at the prospect of living in a beach house especially when she had a family back in the Foundry.
Darius gave her a slight smile, âIt has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and itâll need some fixing but-â
She shook her head and said, âI donât care.â
Y/N had always loved staying at the beach houses whenever the Abbott family took vacations to beaches, she would sit at the deck facing the ocean whenever they were at and listen to the waves as it met the shore.
She turned her head at Emmett, âI meanâŚif thatâs okay with you. If you donât like the idea of a cabin then-â she was rambling that he had to raise his finger to press against her lips to make her stop.
âIâll stay with you and help you get the place get all fixed then Iâll go for the cabin.â He murmured with a small smile with amusement in his eyes as he gazed into her eyes. âWe can go back for your family after that, yeah?âÂ
She stared at him before her lips curled in return while nodding. âYeah.â She said quietly.
For approximately two weeks since life had become different, there was nothing to do  that they were able to get the house fixed up.
Despite the beach house was restored, Y/N never ended up telling Emmett to go to the cabin that couldâve been his, and he seemed like he didnât want to leave either.
They had made plans to return to the Foundry the next day and bring her family to where she and Emmett had been living.
Y/N was wearing sleepy shorts and a large t-shirt she had found in the laundry hamper. She had been standoffish towards Emmett all day since she woke up from her lustrous-filled dream of him holding her down and fucking her into the mattress. Poor Emmett was confused because he did not know what he did wrong, and she could not tell him why she had been acting off with him.
However, she was able to make him feel better when she offered a movie and snacks kind of night.
They settled down on the sectional couch as they watched a movie that they hadnât watched before on a television box.
She had been lucky to find the sectional couch under the tarp when she had arrived at the beach house. It was huge; she would sit in the middle of the couch, almost closer to Emmett, and he tended to gravitate towards the chaise part of the furniture. Her heart did a little trill at the idea of him having a favorite spot on her furniture. It was almost domesticated-like in a way, making himself at home.
The noises emitted from the television speakers as the film rolled on.Â
She started shifting in her spot as hot and heavy scenes began to play. That was not what she wanted to see today of all of the days.
She was horny and maddeningly frustrated which Emmett picked up on.
âAre you alright?â He asked, concern in his voice as he turned his head towards her.
âYes,â she said sharply, refusing to look at him while feeling a slight sense of regret since she hadnât meant it in that tone.
Eventually her eyes strayed from the fuzzy television screen to the slight tan but hairy skin of his thigh that wasnât covered by his basketball shorts.
A small whine accidentally escaped her throat while the feeling of arousal began to build making her shift in her spot some more at the sight of his lower thighs.
Before she could calm herself down, she was stunned as she felt hands wrapping around her waist and lifted her up from her spot, dragged onto the top of his thighs where she was sitting partially on his leg while her back was propped against the couch.
Feeling surprised that she momentarily forgot why she was whining and shifting in the first place as she looked at him with wide eyes.
Emmett narrowed his eyes at her, blue eyes flashed with unknown emotion, âbehave.â He warned her with a stern tone as he laid his right arm on the back of the couch and his left rested on top of his other leg.
The feeling of shock faded as lust came back with vengeance, she swallowed before turning her head away to face the screen.
Then one character said something so out of left field when it comes to the woman. Said something about wanting to make her his in vivid details. The horniness increased a bit.
Emmett chuckled slightly, âhearing it on tv just makes it sound terrible.â He muttered with slight disgust in his voice.
Then she quietly asked, almost timidly. âWhat if you say it to someone?â
He blinked at the screen before turning his head to look at her. His eyes raked over her expression before a smirk slowly appeared on his face. âThen it would not be terrible because it means itâs true. Those actors donât mean a damn thing what they say on tv. Feelings on tv is all artificial unlike people with real feelings.â
They stayed in the position for a little while longer while her arousal began to worsen over time due to proximity, watching the movie until Emmett shifted his leg which shifted the sleepy shorts under the curve of her ass.
She bit down her bottom lip in response, ensuring that he did not mean to do that. So, she maneuvered herself until she could sit further away from his thighs and closer to his knees which was a mistake because he had moved his leg again, nudging his knee which shifted her shorts again and she knew her wetness had seeped through. After all the sleepy shorts and underwear, she was wearing were flimsily thin.
His eyes widened in shock as he looked down to see a slightly glistening spot on his lower thigh. Then his light blue eyes darkened into a storm. âSo, what youâre telling me is that youâve been mad all day because youâre horny?â He asked, slightly in disbelief as he stared at her.
She blushed, refusing to answer him.
However, he did not need an answer from her. It was as obvious as the blue sky. He lightly dragged his tongue across his bottom lip, inhaling slowly. âShow me.â His words rumbled.
She stared at him in surprise as her breathing got caught in her lungs before she let out a low whimper.
He reached over while spreading her thighs, grabbing her towards him before his index and middle fingers curled into the shorts to pull aside the fabric to see her panty-cladded cunt. Unfortunately, the fabric was a light color so he could see how sopping wet she was.
He rumbled lightly at the sight of it, intensely transfixed on the fabric. âYour pussyâs soaking wet. How long have you been like this?â He murmured, inquiring with a question in his gaze.
She hesitated, her eyes trained on him as his ring and pinky fingers lightly grazed against the underwear which she had felt it through the fabric, and she shuddered in response as the sensation.
âTell me, sweetheart.â He commanded while the motion of stroking her cunt became more firm through the fabric.
She closed her eyes at the pet name, âIâve been feeling like this all dayâŚâ she mumbled, exhaling slowly as she opened her eyes.
He hummed before he finally pushed the thin damped fabric with his index and middle finger along with the shorts before using his other hand to push a finger into her.
Her hips buckled in response, gasping as she said, âIâm sorry.â
He chuckled nearly breathlessly at how tight she was, âdonât be sorry.â He murmured softly, âyouâre just needy, craving for someone to touch youâŚâ he trailed off, licking his lips as he leveled his gaze with hers hungrily. âOnly my touch, right?âÂ
She nodded frantically, âonly yours.â
He gave her a self-satisfied smirk before pushing another finger into her cunt, âyouâre tight.â He rumbled. âHave you been touched?â
âOnly with my fingers and toys beforeâŚeverything happened,â she mumbled shyly. Realizing it made her sound inexperienced when she told him.
He inhaled sharply, âfuck.â He groaned. It sounded guttural as if it rumbled in his chest making his voice sound hoarse.
She frowned. âIs that a bad thing?â
He chuckled, shaking his head, âno sweetheart. I wasnât expecting that, butâŚâ he trailed off before continuing. âIt actually makes sense,â before curling his fingers upwardly to brush against the spot inside her making her whine in response. âYouâre such a needy little slut.â
Her lips parted before she bit down her bottom lip as the degrading comment sent shivers of lust down in her veins.
He withdrew his fingers before maneuvering her into his lap as he sat up on the couch. He then removed her shorts and underwear down her legs before throwing them off to the side, and gruffly told her to start riding his thigh.
She stared at him with wide eyes, ây-your thigh?âÂ
He nodded expectantly, looking at her with darkened gaze. âI want to feel your pretty little pussy rubbing on me.â He purred softly with a hungry grin. His fingers flexed on the curve of her ass.
She closed her eyes before she started to grind her hips onto his hairy thigh slowly to get used to the sensation.
âKeep your eyes open and look at me,â he growled, digging the pads of his fingers into the smooth skin of her flesh.
âI canât.â
He began to urge her hips, moving her back  and forth. âYes, you can. I want you to see whose thighs getting you off, sweetheart.â He cooed softly.
She could only stutter as she opened her eyes reluctantly, and he chuckled at her response. âSuch a needy slut,â he said teasingly as she kept rolling her hips onto his thigh desperately. His eyes then darkened once again before releasing one of his hands from her back to reach her jaw. He gripped it gently, but possessively. âMy needy slut, arenâtcha?â
She nodded frantically, and he groaned heavily before smashing his lips onto hers with a force that knocked the air out of her lungs as he kissed her. Shoving his tongue into her willing mouth, edging them into a kiss that borderline filthy before easing them into soft and pliant kisses. âYou didnât think I know?â He breathed against her lips, âthat pretty little thing like you wanted me as much as I wanted you for so long?â
He then dragged her off his thigh as he resumed to kissing her, igniting a sense of disappointment within her before he rolled her over under him on the cushion. He then reached down to the edge of the shirt, pushing the fabric up until her breasts were bare for his hands to touch and squeeze.Â
She jerked her head away from his greedy mouth, needing air to breathe which didnât deter him because he continued with his lips trailing down her jaw, leaving wet streaks behind before dragging his lips to her neck. Pulling back before observing the shirt that bunched up above her breasts, âthe shirtâs too big on you.â He pointed out with a frown painted on his lips.
âI stole it from your laundry,â she whispered shyly as if she committed a crime which she did not other than theft.
He groaned, âyouâre mine.â He said gruffly before easing the shirt off of her body before taking his shirt off as well.
She felt her lips trembling slightly at the sight of his bare chest, âIâm-Iâm yours.â
Emmett then removed his basketball shorts along with his underwear before placing himself on top of her between her thighs.
She felt his cock lying on top of her pelvis, it was very warm, and she could feel the ridges on underside, making her realize that it was big and heavy. She whimpered at the thought of being split apart on his girth.Â
He dragged his cock back and forth on her skin before he gripped it to rub the thick tip against her cunt, collecting the wetness along with it. He then pushed it downward until it caught in her hole. His breathing hitched at the feeling, and he was not even inside her yet.
He pushed his hips; the thick tip parted the opening until it latched onto it fully making him growl softly at the feeling. Her walls were forced to part to accommodate his size when he was finally flushed against her.
Y/N whined at the feeling of being full. âEmmett,â she breathed, her fingers itched to hold onto something, to curl her fingers into it.
He leaned down, pressing his lips to her ear. âYouâre such a good girl, taking my cock so well.â He murmured, praising her before he started thrusting, dragging his cock back and forth in her cunt.
The couch shifted slightly along with the force of the thrusts Emmett was using. His cock rubbed against the walls of her cunt, eventually rubbing against the spongey spot in her before he used one hand to slither down between their sweaty bodies, touching her cunt.
He was able to wring an orgasm from her with a playful but slightly harsh rubbing on her clit which sent her over the edge with a loud whine.
âYou have to pull out,â she mumbled urgently after realizing he did not know she was not on any source of protection. How could she? After the world ended, no one really had the time to be safe especially with sex.
He chuckled hoarsely, âyou donât want my babies?â He asked, a teasing tone in his voice as he said it in her ear. âDonât want me to fill that pretty pussy of yours with my cum?âÂ
She whimpered as her walls clenched down on his cock as a response to the idea of him filling her up to the brim with his cum. âWe just started this fifteen minutes ago.â She pointed out softly, referring to the moment they crossed the line together.
He pulled his head back to look down at her with stormy eyes, âI know, sweetheart.â He breathed before continuing, âbut look where the world is at now, no one is going to say a word when they have more things to worry about. BesidesâŚbeing pregnant with my babiesâŚwell, sweetheart you would look very pretty, not that you werenât to begin with.â
âWhat if we donât work out?â Y/N asked, voicing her fear.
He raked his eyes across her facial expression before peering into her eyes. âAll we have to do is try because I meant what I said. Youâre mine and Iâm not letting you go. Okay?â
She then nodded.
He looked at her to see if there were still any more doubts she had, preparing himself to convince her, but he did see none which made him sigh in relief. âGood because I canât hold back anymore,â he rumbled before he proceeded to fuck her thoroughly, slamming his cock into her with assertive strength to remind her that she was his.
His balls slapped against her cunt as he thrusted into her forcefully, wanting her to feel everything as he grunted, âmy pretty girl.â Followed by, âall mine now.â He groaned into her ear when he felt her walls squeezing around his girth. âSo good for me, sweetheart.â His hips began to stutter in an irregular manner indicating his impending orgasm, âIâll take such good care of you.â He slammed into her as far as he could before spilling into her with a guttural groan.

hello :] i had an idea / req for you!
melissa/reader where r is new around (new teachers aide, teacher, anything rly), theyâre just new so melissa isnât exactly head over heels yet. but then maybe smth happens to r where theyâre in trouble or hurt and melissa ends up being to one to find and take care of them, and melissa realizes how quickly sheâs growing attached OMFG THIS IS SO LONG AND SUCH A RAMBLE SORRY! run with it however youâd like xoxo -đ§đťââď¸
blush to ruby
pairing: melissa schemmenti x gn!reader
summary: request above! think i stuck pretty true to it, i went with r getting hurt rather than an altercation just bc my last fic was more that route
warnings: hurt/comfort (but literal hurt. like pain hurt), mentions of blood and a non-serious injury, r shouldâve had a thatâs so raven moment tbf, kinda short oops
note: title is light to darker shade of red to show deepening feelings, in case u were curious. i wanted to call this âunfortunate foreshadowingâ but itâs a little on the nose

melissa hates lunch duty. everyone does really, she wasnât alone. but what no one ever really talks about, recess duty. the worst part was the screaming, the occasional crying, and the constant whining when it was time to go back inside. somehow after running around at top speeds for twenty minutes straight, the children the even more hyperactive.
maybe it wasnât so bad. ever since you started at abbott last semester, melissa found herself enjoying the extra time with you. she liked the little one-on-one conversations with you that this time allowed her. melissa thought it was rather sweet how you interacted with the little eagles. sheâd watch as you ran down the line of swings, pushing each student as they giggled and yelled higher, higher! but this week was a blessing to the children, mr. johnson finally inflated the sad looking dodgeballs in the recess bins. four-square is a very, very serious matter.
âalright little eagles, huddle up,â melissa shouts with her hands cupped around her mouth.
âtime for the rules,â you say, getting a collective groan in return, âdonât give me the uuugh stuff, half of you break them before the game even starts.â you hear melissa chuckle beside you, making you visibly struggle to hide a smile.
âno hitting the ball when itâs not youâre turn. only hit the ball with your hands, not your face. iâm looking at you, tyler,â you give him a playful glare, he sticks his tongue out in response. âhit the ball out of the bounds, youâre out. if it bounces more than once in your square, youâre out. catch the ball, youâre out.â
the kids create their teams and start playing, you and melissa are really only there to stop them from literally butting heads, and to grab the ball if it rolls out. four rounds in and everyone was laughing and having fun. melissa particularly enjoyed being gifted a dandelion flower crown that you helped one of her students make, gently laying it on top of her hair.
âlast round, then weâre heading back in!â you call to them. when they change players, itâs all fourth graders, only one of which was from your class. melissa could recall that when yasir had been in her second grade class, he mentioned his sister played volleyball at the high school, and she taught him all about it. melissa turns to give you the heads up right as the game starts. the ball bounces into yasirâs square, to which he smacks with all his might. the sheer speed of the ball gave you no time to duck, smacking you straight in the face.
your hands fly over your nose, eyes already watering from pain. melissa can hear the muffled string of swears under your hands and immediately jumps into action, although shaking a bit with need to help you. she ushers the kids back inside the lunchroom to get them to their teachers. she runs to janine and asks her to watch her kids, and teacher lee to watch yours, while she takes you to the nurse.
ânurse alayna isnât here today, but her office has the same key as the conference rooms. just leave her a note if you take anything other than tissues,â lee says as they wave your students over to their group.
melissa settles on guiding to the office with a hand on your lower back, quietly telling you sheâll help you and that youâre okay. she sees more tears form in your eyes when your pull your hands back, blood covering your palms. her hold on your waist tightens with reassurance, your tears making her protectiveness over you grow. when you get into the office, she holds tissues to your nose as you wash your shaking hands.
you cringe when you sit on the paper covering the bench, the sound of it making the pain in your head worse somehow. melissa noticed and watched as you stood up to rip away the paper violently, muttering asshole under your breath. even when you were in pain and crying, you were still you.
she replaced your hold on the tissues as she carefully wiped away rogue tears and blood with a tissue, apologizing when you winced. âokay hon, iâm gonna have to look at it for real now,â she speaks softly, as if youâre a scared animal.
you shake your head and ramble, âno, no, i can do it. you donât have to look at it, itâs probably disgusting.â
she drops the tissue to hold your hand, âiâve seen worse, i was married to a man,â this makes you chuckle, then wince from the laugh. âi want to help. iâll be careful, i promise,â she holds her pinky out to you. she feels your smile under her hand more than she can really see it, but her heart rate quickens when your pinky wraps around hers as tight as possible.
âwhatâs the damage, dr. schemmenti?â
pulling back the tissues, melissa can see that your nose and the area around it was swelling a little. she used a featherlight touch to graze her finger up the bridge of your nose, checking to see if it had been broken. a hiss of pain from you has her hand retracting, apology hot on her tongue.
âsorry, sorry. iâm a wuss with pain and blood and all that,â your hands have a vice grip on your knees as you rush your words.
melissaâs thumb caresses your wrist, âdonât apologize, it hurts like a bitch. i just need to lightly pinch the bridge to feel if itâs broken, okay?â you grimace at the question but nod. âjust squeeze my hand if it hurts, donât worry about hurting me,â she reassured you, holding your hand, interlocking your fingers.
only about three second later, with an almost broken hand, melissa concludes your nose is not broken. she gently cleans off the blood from your skin, so gentle you can barely feel the touch except for the fabric of the towel. your hand stays in melissaâs, the looser grip allows her to feel the anxious vibrations still running through you.
she decides she has to make you feel better, âonce we get you all patched up, how about we raid the lollipops? i know sheâs got some around here, she saves me the bubble gum ones.â
you laugh a bit, careful not to disrupt the last of her work, âbubble gum? whatâs wrong with you?â
âtheyâre horrible and i love them, okay? what do you even like? strawberry or something else boring?â
âroot beer. obviously.â
âyou donât even like root beer, youâre a diet coke purist. you told me root beer tasted like minty iced coffee,â melissa says as she throws out the tissues and disposable towel, making a note of them and the future candies.
your free hand rises, âlisten the lolly version is better than the soda. and thereâs no diet coke lollipop, now is there?â
melissa relishes in your laugh for a moment, âyou got me there.â
youâre able to run out to your car to grab a sweatshirt to replace your stained shirt, melissa standing guard as you changed in the backseat. she held back a cackle at seeing a delicately embroidered cursive, reading bon fromage, with a small stitched image of a wheel of cheese on a boat beneath it. you try to hold back your own laugh as you say, âdonât even start, itâs all i had in the car.â
âno, itâs cute. itâs ridiculous, but very cute,â she responds with a stifled laugh.
âif youâre done laughing, iâll take that lollipop now,â your say, holding your hand out.
melissa drops your root beer lollipop in your palm, but you quickly switch them. her eyes never leave you as you unwrap the candy and place it in your mouth. her heart rate picks up and her skin warms, she blinks rapidly to erase the totally platonic thoughts she was having.
intent eyes watch as your tongue moves the candy to the side of your mouth to speak, âokay, maybe itâs not so bad. but root beer is still better.â
âi told ya,â she mumbles as she unwraps her own lollipop and tries it, âdammit. you were right.â you laugh and give yourself a little round of applause at her response.
you clear your throat, suddenly nervous, âthank you. you didnât have to, even if you say itâs fine. just, thank you anyways. i really do appreciate it, melissa.â
she wraps an arm around your shoulders, leading you back into the building as she thinks about how to respond, âand iâd do it again in a heartbeat if i had to.â
the rest of the day has melissa has this nagging need to check on you, even with only two and a half hours left in the day. she had to wrangle with herself to not rush to ask how are you or peek through the window and see for herself. the deep-seated feeling to protect you only quadrupled in size after seeing you in pain, feeling you grip her hand for support. taking care of you had felt second nature to the redhead.
when the kids cleared out, she quickly grabbed her things and walked to your classroom. she lingered in the doorway as she watched you pack away your planner and a couple folders for grading away into your bag. she knocked lightly on the doorframe to announce herself before she was caught staring, only to be met with soft eyes and a smile, a hand motioning her closer. as if sheâd ever stray far from you again.
on the nose. get it :D iâm sorry.
feedback appreciated, love yâall big time

thoughts on hufflepuff! tzu.... too many to address because I ADORE the series but I'm sure you know that by now.
First off, I love how real and raw mgr is. It stays authentically true to the experience of growing up and trying to find your place in the world while trying to handle so many responsibilities. Add on pressure from teachers, friends, family, teachers, and mentors, and you have a recipe for... well, mishaps.
There are so many relatable quotes from the series that reflect experiences that I had growing up, whether it was because of my family situation or how Yeri reminds me of my beloved best friend or just something silly that could've happened in my school days. the goofballs our reader surrounds themselves with reminds me of all of the friends I had in high school, all of which I miss dearly â¤ď¸
the slowburn is definitely slowburn-ing, and I'm kind of DYING for something to happen đ but I'm too emotionally invested in the happiness and wellbeing of tzuyu and reader that I want them to go at their own pace and be happy together when it naturally happens đĽš
also I totally see the reader as a bit of an oc because I was such a goody-two-shoes growing up, and some of their behavior is SO unlike me đ but I love them all the same!!
hufflepuff! tzu feels like a love letter to youthfulness, different kinds of love, and trying to grow up and experience different things, and that's why I'll always adore this series. you truly have created something uniquely you, mala, and it will (probably) always be my favorite series from you. thank you for blessing us with this. <33 can't wait to see what comes next for our dearest reader and the lovely tzuyu!!
on a less serious note, when is the Katie x reader's friend group fic coming out?? reader can keep tzu, let me at their Slytherin friends PLEASE- (especially San and Yeri, but also all of them??? idk I just would like to smooch them all plz and ty đ) đ¤ /j
can you tell how much I love this series, I can't even write this much for my own fics at the moments ALSNDAJHFSNA
CRYING im going to print and frame this fr
i'm so glad it feels so real. you know when you're writing and things sometimes just pour onto the page (that is if you're lucky enough to have a stroke of creation, something we're all struggling with it seems ;-;), that's literally how i feel about a big chunk of hufflepuff!tzu. almost everytime i start a chapter i'm like 'focus on reader and tzu!' but they sort of don't work in isolation, at least in my head. like their friends, teachers, mentors, even the bullies sort of push them together, idk if that makes sense.
experiences wise i have never punched a bully, though wish i did, would have been satisfying. i also don't play quidditch or sleep in classes hdjkfhdsf. though anything to do academically, anything with lee is almost verbatim from things i have heard. a good teacher really does change everything. students need to know that someone cares about them and is fighting for them (thank you abbott elementary and quinta brunson for inventing teachers)
bro reading slow burn is so great. but writing it is actual hell, like damn just go out already HFJSDH but no despite me struggling to actualise how i want the slow burn written, i am very happy about the progression. trust it will pick up soon (by my standards, you might think it is still slow HFKJSDH)
no, yeah, reader definitely leans more oc (sorry guys ;-;) even i don't relate to them, except maybe pining over tzuyu. ngl if i had to tag myself... i'd be eunbi... yeah, gonna leave that there.
seriously, thank you so much for your lovely words ;-; i struggle a lot with this series but it does make me proud. especially the friendships, they are are so so important to me. which speaking of i might have some ideas for fics for yeri and san hehehe
anyway love you katieeeee <3

Warning: smut (p in v) cussing mentions of alcohol/violence oral fingering cum dirty talk
Summary:rhett has feelings for you but you know that he has been messing around with maria so when he confesses to you you donât believe him
Rhett abbott x reader/use of y/n
ďżź

You were driving home when you looked at youâre phone and saw a text from (rhettâ¤ď¸) you smiled when you saw the text you have had feeling for him since you meet him but you know he didnât feel the same because heâs been messing around with Maria.
(Rhettâ¤ď¸) hey y/n Iâm going to the bar later I was wondering if you wanted to go text me back when you get the chance đ
(Y/nâ¤ď¸đđ)ofc let me get home and take a shower and get dressed and Iâll meet you there
(Rhettâs pov)Rhett smile at the text back from y/n god he wondered how her body would feel against his rough hands. Sooner then later there he was at the bar waiting for y/n.As soon as she walked into the bar his eyes went straight to her tits he couldnât help him self the shirt she was wearing just fir her just right
As soon as you walked in to the bar youâre eyes went straight to finding rhett if he was already at the bar with his beer in hand but you released he wasnât looking at your eyes not but your tits you wear this shirt for a reason. As you walked up to him he smiled god did his smile just make your knees almost buckle as you flashed a smile back to him he was already handing you a cold beer as you took a sip he was already asking you
How was youâre day at work. As you looked up at him with a smile you said not bad not the best you say but could have been worse and his smile faded at youâre response he asked what happened you just said that some guys cussed you out and called you a bitch and hoe and a slut all because you where out of coffee
You know youâre non of that right youâre the most perfect beautiful girl (ofc he thought that if he could he would have bend you over the bar and would have showed you how much he didnât think you where that) and you looked up at him with the most biggest smile and said thanks you where soon Lee interrupted with you having to go to the bathroom as you walked to the bathroom you could feel eyes on you but not Rhettâs no but ones you didnât know. With that you immediately made eye contact with Rhett he could tell you where uncomfortable as he got off the stool he walked up to you and the guy and put his arm around your waist and said was the problem here man. The guy was quick to answer with I just offered her a shot then you butted in with adding the part where he said that one shot wonât hurt but my dick will. The minute Rhett heard that he was pissed he looked at the guy and said well fucking apologize or Iâll kick your ass and you know that he would

As you came down from youâre high as asked if you where ok and you shook your head yes but then he said remember princess words and you said yes he asked if he could be in side of you and you replied with yes as he teased your clit with the top of his cock you whimpered aww poor y/n are you sensitive and he said that he began to ouch him self through your folds
Fuck Rhett youâre so big mm fill me up so good you blurred out making youâre self surprised that you could even make that a full sentence Rhett replied with
Fuck y/n youâre so tight squeezing me just right his thrust started off slow but you begged for him to go faster and as you wished he did
That feel good princess do I make you feel good
Yess da-dad-daddy you make me feel amazing he hadnât heard you call him daddy but when he heard you call him daddy he started thrusting in to you faster you didnât know he could go any faster
Mmmmmm right there keep going Iâm going to cum soon he add his thumb to youâre clit and started to play with your clit and that set you over the edge you where screaming his name over and over again and you keep clenching around him which made him cum to
After he rode out yâallâs orgasms, he flopped down on the bed next to you and put your head on his chest while he played with youâre hair
Rhett?â Yeah honey y/nâ that was amazing thank you. As he got up and went to the bathroom and came back to the room with a damp wet towel you asked what he was doing and he said you really think Iâm going to fuck your brains out and not clean you up after
After he cleaned yall up you guys cuddle under the covers and just felt each otherâs body heat then you broke the silence Rhett I love youâ I love you to y/n ďżź

Pairings- Black!OC x Abbott Elementary Cast, later Black!OC x Manny (Can be read as x Reader though!)
Summary- S1E1-Light Bulb with Naoya Lovel
Warnings- Swearing, kids, mixed race reader( those aren't warnings really, just what to expect)
Jazzie'sNotes!- let me know what you guys think!! I've been really obsessed with Abbott Elementary recently and I'm contemplating if I want to write S1&S2 just to get to the Manny season. I want to get there fast but I know what won't be possible with two seasons worth of writing. Let me know what you guys think I should do.

âTen seconds!â Jacob yelled over his shoulder at the people in the room. Melissa and Barbra rushed over to the sitting area in front of the television that played the action news. Naoya sitting the opposite of them on the small couch.
âOh, we love Action News! Get in early just to watch it.â Melissa said to the cameras. âIt just really calms you down after wanting to take a wrench to someone's side mirror in traffic.â She beamed as if what she said was totally normal.
âBut the Philadelphia region continues to suffer, temperature in the mid-90s with a heat index approaching 100âŚâ The television said as they all sat and watched.
âNow Iâm a proud married Christian woman and I love my husband. But thereâs something about that Jim Gardner.â Barba gushed to the cameras. âThat non-regional diction.â The woman was practically blushing just at the thought of the man.
âIt is so important to support and acknowledge local journalism, okay?â Jacob started. âThereâs no agenda here. This isâThis is one going, in the streets, powerful stuff.â He explained seriously.
âI get in early just to see my aunt Magnolia on the screen. Sheâs a news anchor and I like telling her what I like and dislike about her outfits every morning.â Naoya nodded nonchalantly.
âWouldnât want to see that dog in traffic.â Jim Fardner said as they all laughed while watching a little Pomeranian dog drive a toy car.
âYes, Jim.â Barbra agreed, not seeing the confused look Noaya gave her from the side.
âI like the news because thatâs when I can say whatever I want and nobody asks any questions.â Mr.Johnson told the cameras with a smirk.
âIâm taking a personal day.â The old man said as he entered the room, looking at the backs of everyoneâs heads as they continued to watch the morning news. âGoing fishing with my friends. Anyways, toilet papers in the closet.â He said before walking out.
âI hear him.â Naoya nodded, giving the people behind the camera a small smile. âI hear everything. Plus he is a hilarious old man and I wanna know all his secrets. I am this close to cracking him.â She said with an evil smirk making its way into her face as she lined her fingers together to indicate a small amount.
âI saw Jim Gardner once. At the Chipotle.â Barbra smiled bashfully, not taking her eyes away from the television. âOoh, he orders a bowl so handsomely.â She gushed. Naoya gave the older woman another look, this time more concern than confusion.
It was only a moment later that Jacob was going through the break room fridge, poking around for something. âWhoâs branzino is this?â He asked, holding the fish dish in his hands. âThis is a very powerfully smelling fish to put in a shared fridge.â The boy complained as politely as he could, closing the ice box with a disgusted look on his face.
âDonât touch it,â Melissa said looking up from her phone. âIâm making it right at my cousin Annetteâs.â She made her way over to have a seat in her usual spot next to Barb. âShe thinks sheâs the best cook in the family. Iâm gonna show her in a non-threatening way. Imma look cuter than her too.â She smirked.
âI have a distant cousin named Annette,â Naoya said, finishing up the delicious breakfast sandwich that she had every morning. âShe was psychotic though, used to put poison in the condiments at restaurants.â The younger woman stated, looking off in thought as the rest stared at her in disbelief. âI havenât seen her in ages. Donât want to either, she was butt ugly.â She then took a sip of her orange juice.
Just as she finished, Janine walked into the room, putting her bag down on the table in front of Melissa and Barbra. âGuys, the lights in the back hallways have been out for weeks.â
âThank you for the update,â Melissa said as she applied more makeup.
âWhat are you wearing?â Barbra asked, looking her up and down.
âAnd we need to do something about it. Okay?â The short woman tried to sound demanding but it didnât come off that way. âUh, Melina, from your class.â She started, pointing at Melissa. âYeah, she was afraid to come to school this morning. Said it looked like âThe Shining.â And I donât even get how she knows that reference.â
âShe loves âThe Shining,â Melissa stated.
âItâs a classic movie.â Jacob chimed in.
The camera panes Naoyaâs way, who looks at them at their movements. âNever seen it.â She mouthed with a shrug of her shoulders.
âThis isnât okay, alright?â Janine stressed. âAnd I already talked to Mr.Johnson and he said that there isnât anything he can do.
âWhat do you want us to do about it?â Barbra asked the girl tiredly.
âI mean, it canât be hard. Itâs just screwing in a few new bulbs.â The small woman stated.
âJanine, just worry about what can be controlled.â Barbra cut her off.
âExactly.â Melissa agreed. âAll we can do on a hot day like this is our own jobs, anyway.â
âI know whatâs right,â Ava said as she barged into the room and made her way over to the coffee machine. âWhy is it February and hotter than the devilâs booty hole outside?â She asked.
âClimate Change.â Jacob and Naoya said at the same time, causing them to point at one another in recognition while Ava shot both of them a tired look. âWe are living in the middle of its disastrous effects. The permafrost in Russiaââ He was about to rant before Ava cut him off.
âNerd.â The woman said between coughs, which sounded more like a laugh. Naoya rolled her eyes while Jacob just turned back to what he was doing.
âAva.â Janine started, walking up to the woman who was still laughing from her childish joke. âCan someone from the city come and check on the back hallway lights?â
âGirl, no.â The woman answered, her usual judgmental look on her face. âDo I look like the Kool-Aid man?â She asked, halving around the room. Her eyes stopped on Naoya, who raised her eyebrows in question. âDonât answer that.â She pointed at the woman, who just shrugged it off. âI donât have enough juice to manipulate the inner workings of city hall.â The principal continued, looking back at Janine and scoffing before making her way out. âTheyâll probably come in the summer.â She said as the bell rang.
âIâm the summer?â Janine asked after doing a double take at her words. But the woman was long gone and the others were making their way out of the room to their classes.
âTough break. Want some egg white bites?â Jacob asked, easing closer to Janine and holding out a plate. The solemn woman looked up at him with a new determination. âNo. I donât have time to eat.â She said before walking out. Jacob was mid-bite when he turned and faced Naoya, who was putting her bag over her shoulder. And before the man could even speak, the woman stopped him. âNo, I donât want your peasant food, Jacob. Itâs insulting that you would ask someone as cultured as myself such a question.â She started before strutting out of the break room. Jacob stood there in disbelief.
âItâs just egg white bites, you put them in the microwave.â
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âJanine, what on earth are you doing on that thing?â Naoya asked as she rushed down the hall to the smaller woman who stood on a ladder. She had just come from using the restroom and leaving a class of a bunch of nine to ten-year-olds unattended for even a few seconds could lead to chaos. She didnât know that chaos would be the grown woman who was the height of a nine to ten-year-old.
âIâm going to fix this broken light.â The woman said determinedly, only a step above the floor in the heightening tool. Naoya made it next to her, seeing the woman wasnât doing much movement. She placed her hands on her hips, a smug look on her face. âJanine, you are not meant to go to those heights. God gave you your stature for a reason. Plus youâre terrified.â
âI am not terrified.â The woman said, shooting a glance at her. At that, Naoya gave her a knowing look before ushering the woman to go ahead. Janine nodded and looked back at the matter, fear gripping her. She gulped looking back at Naoya. âOkay, I am terrified but Iâm gonna do it because Iâm on a mission.â She said before carefully making her way up the ladder.
âIf this backfires, you buy my dinner,â Naoya asked, after checking in on her classroom through the glass door, seeing them still doing their reading time. At that, Janine gave a confused look to the air, since she was too scared to look down. âUh, no. This bet is not in my face, at all.â
âWell, at least have some faith in yourself, goodness gracious.â
At that, Janine continued, taking the cover off the lights and continuing to tweak at the wires. âSee, look at this. It was just a loose wire.â The woman said, briefly glancing down at the people below her. She then connected the wire with another one, watching as the light stopped flickering. But it didnât stop for long, the bulbs brightening before bursting in her face.
âOh!â The woman screamed as she ducked:
âJanine!â Naoya yelled from below her, hosing her arms out in case the woman fell. Instantly, all the rooms were filled with the sounds of confusion and discomfort. The doors opened as the teachers exited.
âOh, God! Can someone please help me down?â Janine asked, her voice shaking from the fear of the height she was at and the bulb exploding before her.
âAnd why would we do that since you caused this situation?â Melissa asked as she propped her door open.
âOkay, I didnât know doing this would cause all the power to go out.â Janie tried to justify, still clutching onto the ladder.
âWell, the power is not all out,â Barbra stated. âItâs on in some places and off in others.â
âItâs off in my room,â Gregory said.
âOn in the gym.â The coach said tiredly, slugging up to the group.
âYeah, itâs off in my room,â Melissa spoke back up. âThank God we got the A/C or weâd all be meltinâ already.â
âOkay, well before anyone freaks out, the best thing to do in these situations is just stay calm andââ Naoya started as she looked around the group but was silenced by the frantic voice of their terrible and terrified principal.
âOkay! This is it, y'all! The End Times!â The woman said as she rounded the corner in a hurry, a light strapped to her head. âItâs three months early, but itâs happening!â She said, as she closed in on them, giving the closest thing to her a tousle, which happened to be the very thing that was holding Janine up.
âAah, donât shake the ladder.â The smaller woman yelled from up top.
âGregory is the only person that can stay in my bunker, so stop asking.â The crazed principal continued. Naoyaâs head jerked back at her words, shocked at the womanâs blatant advancements that were harassment at this point.
âAva,â Barbra started, holding her arms out in a non-offensive manner to calm the woman. âIt is just a partial power outage. Alright, listen up everyoneâ.â
âListen to Barbra, y'all!â The doomsday woman yelled, still latched into the latter out of fear.
âAre you kidding me?â Janie asked, clasping at the top of the ladder for support as it shook again.
âThis is what weâre gonna do.â Barbra started again. âEverybody without power, please, head to the gym.â
âHead!â Ava chimed in again.
âWe will conduct classes there until this is all fixed. It is not idealâ.â She stressed, looking up at the culprit on the ladder. âBut it will work.â
âYou hear her. Letâs go!â Ava demanded with a nod.
âGuys!â Janie called from the top of the ladder, causing them all to look up at her. âI-I just wanna I-Iâm sorry, everybody.â The woman said nervously. âI just thought if I could get up here and get this done then we wouldnât have to wait and..â
âAnd look where it landed us, baby girl.â Barbra cut in. âEverybody please head to the gym. Weâve got bigger fish to fry now.â
âOh, Jesus! My branzino! Everybody out of the way. Out of the way!â Melissa yelled as she sprinted down the hall filled with children.
âWell, if someone can please help me! I feel like Iâm one wobble away from death!â Janie begged from where she fluted the top of the ladder. At that, Naoya walked closer, raising her hand to help guide the woman down but was intercepted by Gregory's large arms. The two people glanced at each other, unexpected by the other one's move. Naoya waved her hand, signaling him to help instead. âThank you,â Jannie said, too spooked to even pay attention to the odd interaction before her. âOkay, give me your hand. Take your time.â Gregory soothed, his large hand latched onto Janineâs. When he was turned away from her, she gave the camera an odd look, scratching the back of her ear. âWhenever you're ready.â
âOkay.â Janine sighed. There was a moment of silence between them all as they waited. âAm I doing it?â Janie asked, just standing there.
âNo, honey,â Naoya spoke up, raising an eyebrow at such an odd question.
âOkay, letâs do a count of three.â Janine reiterated, adjusting herself to prepare.
âOkay,â Gregory started. âOne, twoâŚthree.â He finished and the woman still wasnât moving. âOne more time.â He said.
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âThis is all my fault,â Janie said as she looked around the gymnasium at all the students. The shock clock then went off, the constant noise startling Gregory, who paused his class to speak to the woman. âYeah, you probably shouldnât have tried to do the job of a newly graduated DeVry student, but this is okay.â The man sassed, with an awkward smile as she gestured around the room. Melissa was teaching her kids the best she should with something in flashcards, while Barbra was teaching her students to tell time.
Naoya was on the other side of the room, all her students sitting in rows with their eyes closed and taking deep breaths, with her in the front as a group meditation process. She chose this alternative instead of their gym scheduled gym activities, so the kids werenât accidentally hitting four-year-olds in the head with basketballs.
Janine sighed, going to pick up her phone that pinged. She read the messages she got from Tariq, and that pissed her off even more. Well, it wasnât helping her attitude for today.
âI made this mess, and I need to fix this.â She said again, looking around at the distressed room of teachers.
âOkay, but fix this how? Gregory asked her. âIt seems very outside of your skill set. You should probably just wait for somebody to get to itâ.â He tried to reiterate what Barbra had been saying all along and Janine was not having it.
âI donât want to wait for someone to get to it!â Janine hissed. âYou know, our children have needs that deserve to be met. And Iâm going to fix this. Nothing is going to get in my way.â She said determined.
âWhat if you have to climb another ladder?â Gregory finally asked. âThose seem very tricky for you.â
âNo.â That was all Janie gave him. âNot today.
Sometime later, the bell rang, signaling to everyone that it was much time.
âArenât you going to lunch, Janine?â Melissa asked as she, Barbra, Gregory, and Naoya made their way to the gymnasium doors.
âUh, no, Iâm actually gonna stay and help the lunch ladies with lunch.â The shorter woman tried to find a reasonable excuse.
âThe lunch ladies donât like you, Janine. They never say hello back.â Naoya said, crossing her arms as she looked at the woman across from her. âSo, is that what youâre really doing?â
âYes!â She answered. âAnd maybe trying to get the lights back on.â She rushed out at the end, hoping no one heard. At that, the two older women groaned.
âWould you give that a rest?â Melissa started. What do you want? To make the whole school blow up?â
âNo!â The woman said as she folded her arms. âPlus, I canât. Luckily the school was built as a bomb shelter in WWII, soâŚâ
âLet it go.â Barbra practically begged the girl before her before she and the rest of the teachers started walking away.
âOkay, I will.â The woman told them, watching them exit. She and Gregory held long eye contact, both knowing the truth deep down. After they were gone, Janine looked back down at her phone, not paying attention to her friends next to her.
âYouâre not gonna let it go, are you?â Jacob spoke up.
âNo, Iâm not gonna let it go, Jacob, okay?â She said, giving the two of them a look. âI need to right my wrongs.â
âOkay, weâll count me out.â He said, waving her off.
âI never counted you in,â Janine said to him, confused about where he got that from.
âWell, then count me in.â He restated. âBecause I donât have any lunch plans.â
âOkay.â She sighed. She then looked at the woman next to him, her purse on her shoulder. âWerenât you going to lunch?â She asked.
âYou owe me lunch, remember? Your plan backfired.â She reminded the woman from earlier with a shrug. Janine sighed, turning away from them and walking, knowing they would follow. âThatâs not how bets work, Naoya. Both people have to agree.â
âThatâs how my bets work and you owe me food, woman!â
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
âThis is just like the one in my apartment, this is going to be easy,â Janine stated as the three of them made their way to the breaker box that was in the custodian closet. âMe and Tariq have to go in that thing like three times a month.â She said them behind her, Jacob holding the flashlight above her head.
âMaybe you should move.â The man suggested.
âYeah. Tariq says he is âpracticingâ his credit score.â Janine struggled out and she pushed to get the metal box open. âApparently 380 isnât a goodâ.â She continued to struggle, her words getting lost in her. âLet me try,â Naoya said as she softly nudged the smaller woman out of the way. She gave the box a pull and the thing popped open. She turned and smiled at the two. âI loosened it,â Jannie said, trying to save face.
âSure, Jan,â Naoya said, going back to looking in the box. âOh..â she said, looking at the jumbled mess of wires and switches.
âOh, no,â Janie said, looking at the same thing. âDonât touch. Not even a little bit.â She read out loud, giving the camera a certain look. âUh, okay. Whatâs that say?â
âEnd of the Road? Itâs so hard to say goodbye?â Naoya read out loud, looking at the labels next to some of the switches. âWhat? MotownphilâThese are Boyz II Men songs.â She deadpanned, turning to the rest of them.
âWhy?â Jannie asked, moving to stand in front of the box herself.
Jacob chuckled. âItâs ironic âcause Iâm on Bended Knee.â He joked, giving the camera a brief look. Naoya genuinely snickered while Janie just laughed awkwardly. âHeh. Okay.â She said before going back to the wires. âOh God, why is that one hot?â Offering them a glance of concern. âLet me try this one.â She said and just a flip of a switch caused a giant spark to erupt, the trio screamed and jumped back to dodge the sparks as best as they could.
âWhat in the world.â
âWhat going on?â
Melissa and Barba exclaimed as she entered the hot and dark school building with children running around. âItâs so hot Iâm gonna frizz.â Just then, Janie and Jacob came out of the appliance closet, their hair a mess from the static they endured. The three teachers who left for lunch automatically knew who the culprit for everything was.
âJanine! What did you do?!â Barbra asked, quite fed up with the younger woman. âLooking like âwho shot John.ââ
âBarbra, look, I know you told me to let it go, but I couldnât. Jacob and Naoyaâ.â At that, she looked back to see where the woman was but she was nowhere to be found. âJacob helped me open the breaker.â She was quick to accuse.
âI ran away as soon as the sparks started flying. I was looking out for myself.â The woman shrugged as she leaned against the wall next to her. âPlus, I wasnât about to get yelled at by Barb for this whole mess.â
âIt was a chance to support a strong Black woman.â The man next to her breathed out, in a state of shock, quite literally.
âThe breaker?!â Melissa asked. âJanine! You canât do this stuff! What had you come to work today and lose your mind?â
âLook, Iâ.â She tried to find something to say. âI just haveâshe gulpedâI feel lightheaded.â She said as she swayed.
âOhh, okay,â Barbra said worriedly as they all closed in on the smaller girl.
âDid you eat today, because I know you didnât have lunch,â Melissa asked the girl worriedly.
âAnd you didnât have any breakfast,â Jacob stated, his tone showing his concern for the womanâs wellbeing. Janine couldnât even say anything, her balance was off and her mind was delirious.
âOkay, weâre losing her,â Melissa yelled, easing up on the girl. âDo I have your consent to slap you?â At that, Janine fell backward into Gregoryâs arms just as Ava and Naoya rounded the corner. âThere she goes,â Melissa said over the shocked screams of her colleagues. âSheâs out.â
âYall feel this heat?â Ava asked, just now seeing the sight of the woman on the floor before her. âOh my God! Sheâs pale like a zombie! You know, they eat the hottest people first, let me back my tasty ass up.â Ava said, going back to where she came from down the hall. At her stupid words, Naoya was tempted to follow her but snapped out of it when she saw Janine on the floor.
âUh, okay! Iâm gonna go see if I can get some water out of the fridge. Hopefully, itâs still cold.â Naoya said before running off.
âOh my God, my branzino!â Melissa yelled, moving to push Barb back.â âExcuse me, Barb. Sheâll be okay!â She yelled as she pushed the older woman out of her way and jumped over the unconscious woman.
âŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁâŁ
Once Janine woke up from her little coma, the coach told her that all the kids and teachers were outside. She walked out to see all of them playing in the water that was sprouting from the fire hydrants while the teachers lunged in chairs. âOh, look whoâs back in the land of the living,â Melissa said once she saw the small woman exit the school.
âWho opens the fire hydrant?â Janine asked
âWell, as Melissa would say, snitches get stitches,â Barbra said.
âIt was Naoya,â Jacob whispered to his shorter friend, pointing over at said woman who was playing in the water with the children. She had her bat at her side, leaning her weight on it as she splashed the kids who came near her to throw water her way.
âThat is correct.â Melissa started again. âBut I am not talking to you on account of you killing my branzino.â She said, before leaning back in her seat. Barbra gave her a look and cleared her throat. Melissa looked at the woman from under her shades and sighed a little before sitting back up. Barbra then got up from her seat, allowing Janine to take it.
âSo thatâs it, huh?â Janine asked, looking around at the kids. âI , uh, gave it my all, passed out, and ruined the school day?â
âOh, you tanked,â Melissa told her. âYou tanked Janine. You took the whole school down with you. It was impressive.â She pressed, knowing she was pushing the womanâs buttons.
âLook, I know. I shouldâve stopped. Iâm sorry.â Janine sighed. âI just felt so bad when I saw that look on Melinaâs face this morning.â
âYou donât think it kills us to see those faces in the morning?â Melissa asked her. âWhat, are we made of stone? Youâre not the first person to feel things, kid. We care.â
It was silent for a moment as Janine thought over the womanâs words. âHow do you and Barbra stop yourselves from caring too much if thatâs a thing.â
âBecause itâs the opposite.â Melissa smiled at the girl as she took off her shades. âWe care so much we refuse to burn out. If we burn out, whoâs here for these kids? Thatâs who you gotta take care of yourself.â
âYeah, whatâs with you today Nini?â Both women jumped at the sound of Naoyaâs voice, while the woman just stood behind them with her bat. âYouâre normally bananas, butâŚâ She trailed off, waving at the girl's aura.
âUh, I donât know. Just some stuff at home, I think.â Janine shrugged with an answer.
âOh, okay,â Melissa said with a nod. âSee, thatâs the other thing me and Barbra learned. All that at-home stuffâyou gotta leave it at the door. Otherwise, you open up a whole nother Paneraâs box of problems.â
âI think you mean Pandoraâs box,â Naoya told the woman sitting in front of her.
âNah, Iâm pretty sure itâs Paneraâs box.â She nodded, while Janine and Naoya both gave the camera a look.
Later on that day, Naoya was in her room in the process of changing the clothes she had on into some that she kept in her closet. She enjoyed playing in the water with the kids but she was not going to go home wet. As she was in the process of changing, she got a phone call. Looking down at her phone, she saw the contact and quickly answered the phone.
âHello, Adona.â The girl sighed into the phone as she pulled a new shirt over her head.
âOh, well donât sound so pleased.â The feminine voice over the phone said to her. Naoya rolled her eyes, as she opened the drawer of her desk and pulled out a plastic store bag. She offered the camera a glance, knowing they were probably thinking as to why she kept so many plastic bags in her drawer. But all she could offer them now was a shrug as the voice over the phone continued.
âAnyways, how are you?â
âWhat do you want, Adona?â Naoya spat, stuffing her semi-wet clothes into the plastic bag.
âWhat? I canât see how my own sister is doing?â The woman said over the phone, the hurt in their voice obviously sarcastic.
âNo, but I know you. And I know that you only call when you need money. Money for something other than your child.â The younger girl snapped over the phone. All she got in response was a sigh and some shuffling from the other end.
âYou know, you don't have to rub it in.â Adona started, and Naoya rolled her eyes at the womanâs words, knowing this conversation was about to go to the argument they always had. âThis all would have been so much easier if the rest of us werenât left out of her will.â
âThatâs not my fucking fault, Adona. I tell you that every time you call. Do you think I want the burden of you and the others calling me every month for some fucking bill for me to pay? Not to ask how Iâm doing?â Naoya spat at her sister over the phone. She could feel her eyes start to sting, she was never the best at arguing when it came to her family. Sheâd been called sensitive all her life and it rang true every time she talked to her siblings.
â âThe othersâ? Thatâs what you call us? Youâre family?â That was all Adona could say back. Naoya rolled her eyes and let out a scoff, pulling the phone away from her face as she sniffed and held her head back, trying to stop her tear flow. After only a few quick seconds, she brought the phone back to her face. âUh, I can already see where this is going, so Iâm gonna end it here. Just send the amount and Iâll talk to you some other time. Take care.â She said before pressing the red button on her screen to end the call.
She placed her phone in her back pocket and moved around her room to gather her things, trying her best to occupy her mind from what just ensued. She was so in her head that she forgot the cameras were there. And she didnât hear the voice of Gregory at her door.
âNaoya?â He called out to her.
She looked up at the sound of his voice as she placed her things into her bag. âOh, Hello Gregory.â She smiled, her face showing none of the emotions she was feeling.
âYouâve eaten?â He asked, just standing in the doorway of her classroom.
âUh, no, actually. Janine was supposed to buy me lunch because I bet that her plan would backfire.â The woman said as she placed her things in her arms. At that, Gregory gave her a questioning look. Naoya raised her hands in surrender. âI know, I sound like a terrible friend. But itâs not that I donât believe in Janine, I just know how to black a bet. Get it from my father.â The girl shrugged. She and Gregory both laughed lightly. And when it died down, they just started at one another, the air between them oddly peaceful.
âBut, uh, are you offering?â She asked, looking at the man before her.
âUh, yeah. I was going to ask Janine too.â He said, pointing his thumb in the direction of the said womanâs room.
âCool! Letâs go.â She said with a genuine smile, causing the man to smile at her as well. They walked out and over to Janineâs room, where it looked like the woman was doing something on her phone. Gregory knocked on her door to get her attention. âHey.â He said.
âHey,â Jaimie said, looking at the two.
âHave you eaten?â He asked.
âOh. No. The um, lunch lady gave me that can of peaches but no can opener, so, no.â She chuckled, pointing at the can on her desk.
âWhat? No fair! Youâre so lucky. Well, besides the whole can opener situation. â Naoya said jokingly.
âAlright, weâll, you wanna go get something to eat? With me?â Gregory said before Naoya lightly cleared her throat. âWith us?â Gregory was quick to reiterate. Naoya nodded, offering the slightly flustered older man a brief look.
âOh,â Janine said, looking between the two. âI was gonna wait for my boyfriend to finish his show to eatâŚâ She said. Naoya nodded at her words, understanding where she was coming from. Well, understanding as best as she could because sheâd never wait to eat for a man. But maybe that was love. She caught the way Gregoryâs posture changed at Janinâs words out of the corner of her eye. She didnât say anything but she did give me a crazy side-eye, hoping he noticed.
âButâŚno.â The shorter woman started back up with a laugh. âIâm hungry now, so I should eat now, right?â
âThatâs typically how hunger works, yeah.â Gregory played along.
âRight! Normal people eat at normal times, likeâŚ4:00.â She said, pointing over at the clock on her wall.
âYeah. All true.â Gregory said with a nod before smiling. âSo, letâs go eat.â
âLetâs. Okay.â Janine said with an equally large smile before moving to grab her things. At that, Naoya turned around to head out the door, not wanting to be in the middle of an obvious love fest. She gave the cameras outside a knowing look, a large smirk on her face.
Seconds later, the two of them walked out of the room, Naoya joining them to go down the hall. On their way, they ended up meeting Jacob.
âOh, hey guys, what up?â The man said.
âWeâre just headed to get something to eat,â Gregory answered.
âOh, great, Iâll join.â The man just inserted himself, not catching the looks thrown his way by the three. âAfter school crew.â He continued.
âOoh, âAfter School Crew.â I like that.â Janine smiled. They all ended up stopping at the lights coming on within the school. They looked over to see Mr.Johnson in the supply closet, standing next to the breaker machine in his fishing gear.
âYou touch the lights, didnât you, Janine?â He asked, shooting an accusatory look the womanâs way.
âYes,â Janine answered with a defeated look.
âGood thing I got me a system.â The man told her, flicking the breaker box closed. âIâll make love to you. Like you want me to.â He continued to sing. This caused them to all sigh and continue walking. Naoya stayed behind, a fond smile on her lips as she watched the old man. When he caught the sight of the woman still there, he paused and looked at her.
âYou have a good fishing trip?â She asked the man, crossing her arms over another. The man looked at the girl kind of shocked that she asked and that she knew.
âYeah. Yeah, I actually did.â He said, offering her a smile of his own. Naoya nodded at his words before walking away, following the crew that left her. Mr.Johnson looked at the spot she left, a fond smile on his face as she continued to sing the song.

Both you and Barbara made work your lives. You were both passionate about what you did, just as passionate as you were about each other. But work took a toll. Especially on the amount of time the two of you could spend together.
Tonight was the first night that youâd had a date night planned in months, one that was looking like it would not fall through as all the past dinners had. It was late, pitch black outside, but you and Barbara couldnât care less.
Your arm was linked in Barbaraâs, as you two walked from your parked car to the classy restaurant. You had managed to make reservations at the Italian restaurant in town that you and Barbara had gone to for your first date together. Barbara had been buzzing all day, excited to finally have time with her wife.
You got seated by your waiter once in the restaurant, starting to look at the menus.
âThey seem to have changed the menu since we were last hereâŚâ Barbara observed with a hum past her menu and over to you.
You agreed with a hum and you two began talking. But it seemed that no matter what you two discussed, the conversations always went back to work for both of you.
You eventually ordered your meals and some wine. You both had been working so hard, and the last thing either one wanted to discuss was work. Your food came and you began eating.
You sighed, putting your fork down.
âBarb⌠Iâm going to be honest. As much as Iâve been pushing for a date night, we canât seem to talk about anything that isnât our work⌠so letâs skip the talk. Im not hungry for any real food anyhow, Iâm aching to taste youâŚâ you said the last bit under your breath and in a low and sultry tone.
Barbara nearly choked on her pasta. But she quickly washed it down with the rest of her wine, putting her napkin and fork away with a quick nod.
âAlrightâŚâ She breathed out, her cheeks slightly flushed from your admission.
Barbara was trying to act composed, as she always did. Her tone was normal. But it was the little things that gave her away⌠the way she fidgeted as the waiter left to go get you some to-go boxes⌠the way her gaze fluttered from your lips to your tits to your gaze over and over again⌠the way she scurried to pack up all the food in the to-go boxes⌠and the way she practically dragged you out of the restaurantâŚ
You made it all the way to the park car, before Barbaraâs hands tugged you by your coat collar, smashing her lips into yours. Normally, her kisses were slow and chaste, sometimes longer if no one was looking. But tonight , her lips were aggressively passionate, nipping at your bottom lip before sliding her tongue into your mouth.
You both pulled away after a couple minutes, completely breathless and flushed.
âDamn Barbara! What has gotten into you?â You chuckled, leaning over slightly and trying to still catch your breath.
âYou started itâŚâ Barbara mumbled, before quickly unlocking the car and shuffling you into the passenger seat.
You usually drove her, but tonight Barbara insisted. She was probably speeding most of the way home, but you didnât care. All you could imagine was your wife. Fully exposed, back arched, mouth open in a silent scream, hand in your hair, as your mouth took her to heavenâŚ
The second she parked the car, you both scrambled to the front door. Within a split second of the door being closed, Barbara crashed back into you, her lips on your once more. Your hands pulled her impossibly close around her shoulders and neck. You guided the woman to your shared bedroom. The door to your bedroom shut behind you, and your bodyâs entangled into one.
âHavenât touched you in so long⌠havenât been touchedâŚâ Barbara murmured into your lips.
Her fingers ran along your coat, then going to remove it. You happily complied, and within minutes, the two of you were completely stripped of all your clothing.
âI know, I know, youâve been so stressedâŚâ you hum, âWhy donât you lay back on the bed and let me taste you, hmmm my loveâŚ?â
Barbara bit her lip and her eyes widened, as she nodded eagerly. The woman fell onto the bed and leaned against the head board, spreading your legs for you. You crawled onto the bed, slotting yourself in between her legs. The poor womanâs pussy was dripping and aching for some lovinâ, and who were you to deny your loveâŚ?
You used your fingers to spread her pretty pussy lips, then using your tongue to lick a long stripe from her entrance to her clit. Barbara shivered beneath you, immediately tangling one hand into your hair and using it to push you further into her cunt. You took her silent pleading, diving straight into the womanâs glistening pussy. Your tongue lapped away at her folds, before dipping in and out of her core.
Barbara let out a string of breathy expletives, the kind of words which you only ever heard when the two of you were intimate. Her other hand was buried in the pillows on the bed to her left, clutching onto the bed spread tight. The womanâs head lolled back and her eyes were screwed shut tight. She was so wound up that it only took your tongue for her to cum for the first time that night.
Barbara came with shaking legs and a back arching, blissful disposition. She dropped back onto the bed after her relief, leaving the woman panting and writhing underneath you. You finally pulled away after sucking her pussy clean of any juices, making your way up to Barbara and giving her another deep kiss.
Your and her hands flew to one anotherâs faces, caressing each other and groaning in delight. After what seemed to be not long enough, you both pulled away in breathless gasps.
âDear Lord how I needed thatâŚâ Barbara breathed out with a chuckle.
You chuckled lightly, as one of your hands wandered down the womanâs frame. Your digits found purchase in between Barbâs legs, where her pussy was freshly aroused, wet and aching once more. Barbaraâs breath hitched as your fingers trailed through her folds, spreading her arousal up and around her clit.
âIt seems as if we havenât worked all of your stress out quite yetâŚâ you hum lustfully, eyeing the woman suggestively.
Barbaraâs hands grip your shoulder and sides, and her eyes widen as you sink two fingers into her fluttering core. Her mouth goes open in a silent scream as her eyes flutter closed once more.
âDear Gâ OhHHhhh Y/N⌠D-donât ssstopââ Barbara moaned, her hips jolting up to grind against your hand.
You chuckled, giving the woman a kiss of her forehead, not stopping your administrations.
âOh I wonât, baby⌠Not until every ounce of stress is gone from this pretty face⌠and that precious pussyâŚâ you lustfully cooed, crooking your fingers inside her to punctuate your words.

Just One Dance
Lee Abbott x Reader
Words: 1113
Summary: Once your world is forced into silence, survival is all that matters. There are few moments when sound is anything but a danger. In one of those beautiful moments, you and your husband are able to forget the life of terror you live in and just listen to the music.Â
Notes: I know that Lee and Evelyn are absolutely adorable (I love John and Emily), but I really really wanted to write this, so please donât be too mad. Also, since this is an AU, Evelyn and the kids obviously wonât be in it, but this is heavily inspired by the dance scene from the film. (Also, in this case, the dialog in italics is in sign language, taking more inspiration from the film) @bensolocanbesaved

Sitting at the table, your glass shook in your hand. Youâd found a body today. Most of the time, there were only fragments left. This time, she was just lying there⌠her blood freshly seeping into the grass. It was a woman of your age, possibly younger. Most of her torso had been ripped apart, but you could still see her face. Her eyes were blank, but the look of fear still in them struck you. It was like everything else inside her had been hollowed out and all that was left was the terror of knowing she was going to die.Â
You had wanted to bury her, but Lee pulled you away. He said it would make to much noise. He was right, of course, but you couldnât stop thinking about her body lying alone in the dark, waiting to be fed upon. You stared at your mat for most of the meal and your trembling had not gone unnoticed.Â
âYouâre thinking about her, arenât you?â Lee asked, the expression on his face soft and concerned. You didnât respond and began to clear your place. You stood and started to walk away, but Lee was quick to stop you, grabbing your hand and pulling you towards him. He touched his lips to your palm and you sank to your knees beside his chair, laying your head in his lap while you cried without making a sound.Â
Youâd been surviving together for nearly a year. Communicating wasnât a problem since you took sign language in school and taught it to Lee while you when you got married. But it wasnât just about surviving anymore. You were going to have to figure out how to live.Â
As the night fully set in, you curled up on your mattress and tried to distract yourself by listening to music- one of the few sounds you werenât forced to fear. Lee was off somewhere trying to figure out the creatureâs habits and weaknesses, though you didnât see much hope. Unfortunately, out of the two of you, you had become the pessimist. There was only one way all of this would end, and it wouldnât leave you as the victors. It was only a matter of when.Â
You fell asleep before Lee joined you and when you woke up, he had already left to find food. You rubbed the tiredness from your eyes and made your way to the kitchen to make yourself breakfast. While many foods were deemed to dangerous to eat or prepare, you had found a few that you were still able to enjoy. Most of the time, you just had fruit from your garden for breakfast, but you couldnât complain.Â
A movement outside the window sent a chill down your spine. You hadnât made a sound all morning. How could it have found you? You crept to the other side of the room and crouched down behind the counter, breathing as silently as you could. You felt a presence beside you and you closed your eyes, awaiting the final strike. But a hand lightly touched your shoulder and when you opened your eyes, it was your husband.Â
You sighed with relief and stood, taking him in your arms, the terror of the moment washing away. He looked down at you and gave you a small smile.Â
âCome with me.â
-
Your feet had grown used to the ache of walking through the forest barefoot. Your skin was tough and you hardly noticed when you stepped on a stone or twig. Leeâs hand grasped yours as he lead you up the stream until you came to a large waterfall. You looked at Lee with awe and dipped your hand into the cool water.Â
âBeautiful, isnât it?â Lee said softly. A shocked expression took over your face, but he just chuckled. âIt drowns out most of the sound around it.â He explained. âWeâre safe.â You laughed, feeling like the weight youâd been carrying for the past year was finally lifted. You hadnât heard your husbands voice since the creatures came it was like music. âIâve missed your laugh.â Lee pulled you into his arms, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.Â
âThis is incredible.â You gasped, almost shocked to hear your own voice. Youâd nearly forgotten what you sounded like.Â
âI thought we could both take a moment to⌠remember.â He shrugged, sitting down in the grass, encouraging you to sit with him.Â
âRemember what?â His expression saddened.Â
âWho we are.â You laid your head on his shoulder and for a while, you just sat there, listening to the water crash against the pond. You took a deep breath and stood, pulling a small device out of your pocket. You took Leeâs hand, leading him to stand with you, pulling him close handing him one of the headphones. He gave you a curious look and put it in, a smile creeping onto his lips as he listened to the song youâd chosen. It was the song you danced to on your wedding.Â
Neither of you said a word as you swayed slowly to the melody, the rest of the terrifying world disappearing. All you could see, all you could feel was Lee. His hands found your waist as your arms draped around his neck, your foreheads pressed together as he softly sang the words to you.Â
The years turned back and you felt like that happy woman you once were. You could see your family and friends toasting their glasses and beaming like the lights above you. You tried not to think about how all of them would likely be dead by now. You tried not to think about the sounds of their screams as the creatures tore them apart. So you focused on the music.Â
Lee held onto you, fear gripping his heart and clouding his eyes with tears. He didnât know how much longer the two of you would be able to keep this up. More and more lights in the distance had vanished, signaling the deaths of nearby survivors. A tear finally escaped down his cheek and you lifted your eyes to meet his.Â
âHey,â You whispered, wiping it away gently with your finger. âWeâre going to be okay.â You werenât sure if you even believed it, but you knew you had to try. âThose things can take our voices and they can take our lives⌠but they can never take this.â You kept your hand on his cheek and pulled his lips down to yours. Leeâs arms tightened around you and you continued to dance beside the water.Â
No matter what happened, you would always have that moment. You would always have him.
