So y'know how I was telling you about Abner and Nik's story and how they have that Pushing Daisies-style kiss in the bar?

I haven't actually seen Pushing Daisies (though I very much want to), I just know about it and I think the plastic wrap kiss is adorable. So I didn't realize that like... Lee Pace in that actually does look a little like David Dastmalchian, especially in that role. They're not doppelgangers by any means, but... there's some similarities

So now I'm just imagining Abner watching the show with his family and internally kind of seeing himself in the character (especially with the whole "I'm not normal but I really want someone to love me anyway" side of things), and holding that plastic wrap scene in his head as this romantic "someday" goal the same way people envision like... the upside-down Spider-Man kiss or the Notebook reunion in the rain or other things like that.

And it's just kinda simmering in the back of his mind in that escapist fantasy way, though he doesn't think he'll ever get the chance to act on it since it's kind of odd and specific and even if he had a romantic partner he'd be too awkward to ask. At least... not without reason to.

But if he's placed in the same position? If he has the opportunity, and the barrier isn't a romantic fantasy but a need, if he's not allowed to touch his partner directly?

Well, I've told you the story.

(and also I like to think that even after Nikoletta gets rid of the excess shadows and can touch him freely, she still will grab the plastic wrap sometimes, like when they're in the kitchen cooking dinner and it's close by, since she knows it's a bit of a fantasy for him)

Hello! I recently found another villain/heroine ship you might enjoy. The very first Wonder Woman movie came out in 1974 and starred Cathy Lee Crosby as Diana/WW. The movie is cute, but Diana has INCREDIBLE chemistry with the villain, Abner Smith (played by the very charming Ricardo Montalban). Pretty rare occurrence for a 1970s superhero film, but their flirtatious dynamic is explored - in fact, Diana's last line references her relationship with Abner. I thought I'd see if you knew of it :)

I've watched it two days ago with my boyfriend and the final scenes are really charming T_T

The movie itself didn't age well (girl spy movie screaming 70s is not my thing), but once Abner Smith interacts with Wonder Woman you feel the charm pouring out from the screen.

My boy is such a good loser when she beats him in the end, like he really likes her style

And when he asks for a cigarette just to hold her hand...

I didn't immediately realized the last line was about their relationship, but you're so right. Homegirl felt the chemistry too T_T

Chloe Hardbroom: A Brown Or A Pouncer?:

So...here's the General Story.

Back in the mid-to-late 1950's, an Ex-Codice wizard, Conrad Hardbroom (Christopher Lee/Gary Raymond) had met a classy young Midnight Folk witch named, Chloe (Rosemary Harris/Shirley Anne Field) when the ladder was wanting to erase her ties from the occult. With Conrad's help, Chloe would succeed in that goal through the Ex-Codice's Erasure Ritual. As a result, Chloe and Conrad's children would be Ex-Codice instead of Midnight Folk (by law, the "breed" of wizardry would fall on the mother unless she's a Muggle/Non-Magic).

Chloe and Conrad would marry and have two children. Their first, Constance Hardbroom (Kate Duchene) later (secretly) married the Imperium wizard, Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) and produced a son, Nick Hobbes (Bobby Barry) (and a daughter, Morrigan, much later but all that's a different story...).

Then there's the younger child, Clyde Hardbroom (Jason Carter) who'd go on to marry Claire Delune (Julia Sawalha) and have their own son, Artemis Hardbroom (Joe Prospero).

Now here's the dilemma;

While Chloe's family are from "The Box Of Delights" with her mother being Sylvia Daisy Pouncer (the abusive ex-governess of the protagonist played by Patricia Quinn), there's Chloe's father; Abner Brown (Robert Stephens who, oddly enough, was the ex-husband of Maggie Smith a.k.a Minerva "The Queen" McGonagall) or Foxy-Faced Charles (Geoffrey Larder, who's role the filmmakers wanted Alan Rickman for, but Rickman wanted to play Abner Brown...).

Abner Brown was the main villian of "The Box Of Delights" who would stop at nothing to get anything he desired be it power, treasure or the titular artifact. Even turning to Dark Magic to reach his goals. In between "The Midnight Folk" and "The Box Of Delights", he married his cohort, Pouncer whom he didn't seem to care for as he intended to leave her in the dust with his minions. In the end, Sylvia left Abner to his death when she left with Foxy-Faced Charles, Chubby Joe and a great deal of expensive jewlery. If Abner were to be Chloe's father, Chloe would be born in 1935. It would also explain where Constance (and Nick) got their dramatics from. Granted, Pouncer can be like that too but there's also Nick's megalomania...which Nick may've picked up from Snape (like a true Slytherin).

Then there's Foxy-Faced Charles, Abner's abused minion. As Chubby Joe's best friend, Charles is usually the one who keeps Joe on task. While Joe can turn into a wolf while Charles can turn into a fox at will. For some time, Charles and Sylvia have been having an affair before "The Box Of Delights". If Charles were to be Chloe's father, this would not only make Chloe a red-head but also a shape-shifter before the Erasure Ritual. She'd also be born a bit later in 1937-1938.

If you "casted" Doomsday, My Dear as a movie, who would play each character?

ok this is the last Lost Ask that's still relevant and I don't have answers for everyone but

at the time of asking I would've said Tom Holland for Abner. He's too old and famous now so maybe that kid from Shadow & Bone, this one

who I think is maybe also too old?? but he's got the babyface. it's fine.

Gwilym Lee (Grigor from The Great, if you've seen it) would be a perfect Cyril imo, he's got the right Face Angles and Shitbird Energy

I haven't watched Bridgerton and.... really don't plan to, but Ruby Barker would make a lovely Poe

and the last one I'm sure of is that Naveen Andrews would make a perfect Chet if you put his head on David Harbour's body, but that person doesn't exist so I would be all right with rewriting the character to be less Big McLargeHuge if it meant Naveen Andrews could play him. because that's likely. all of this is likely

Tim Hollis informed us of the recent passing of Linda Lou Crosby, daughter of Lum and Abner announcer Lou Crosby and actress Linda Hayes.Linda Lou and her sister Cathy Lee Crosby were celebrity guests at our 1996 National Lum and Abner Society Convention. Philstar: A year since 'Bloody Sunday' raids: 34 cops face murder raps, harassment of activists continues

Human rights and labor groups called for swift action on the complaints filed against state forces involved in the “Bloody Sunday” raids that killed nine activists in Calabarzon.

A year after activists were killed as police and military personal executed search warrants on March 7, 2021, rights watchdog Karapatan and labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno said that attacks against and red-tagging of human rights defenders and unionists continue.

Union leader Manny Asuncion, and fisherfolk leaders Ariel Evangelista and Chai Lemita-Evangelista, housing rights activists Melvin Dasigao and Mark Lee Bacasno, indigenous Dumagat farmers Puroy and Randy Dela Cruz, and banana farmers Edward and Abner Esto were killed during simultaneous police and military operations in Batangas, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal. Authorities also arrested several others during the raids.

"Instead of immediately acting on the complaints filed against state forces involved in the massacre and arrests, what the Duterte administration did was to use 'Bloody Sunday' as a threat to workers tirelessly fighting for just wages, job security, and respect for labor rights," said KMU chairperson and senatorial candidate Elmer “Bong” Labog said.

The raids came two days after President Rodrigo Duterte told security forces they could kill communist rebels and “ignore human rights.”

"Even when they pleaded for their lives, they were mercilessly murdered while illegal weapons were planted in their homes to further the ‘nanlaban’ narrative and justify these killings, as the Duterte administration has repeatedly done in its sham and brutal drug war," [Labog] added.

In 2020, UN rights chief Michelle Bachelet said the Philippine government needs to revoke policies and rhetoric that result in killings and other human rights violations.
