EYE 2 (VPMF 5011) This First Thursday, June 6, at D.C.’s Tavern in Hoboken will be a run of genres set from Punk to Funk and wherever else we can go. I love doing sets like this because if you don’t like what you hear, just wait a few minutes for something different. From the very first time I heard this amazing blast of melodic, Damned inspired, Punk I thought these guys were from the UK. Every time I heard this I would obsess over trying to remember who it was. I don’t write a lot down, which forces me to remember both the visuals and the sound. For some reason I never searched for info but when I purchased the Soul Jazz Records Punk 45 Vol 1 comp, I was surprised to learn that they are from New Orleans. Weirdly, that made them even cooler to me. Recently, @CollectorScum mentioned he may have a copy for sale and I jumped, leaped… exploded at the opportunity. So good!
