This was on the way back from Mangan. Now imagine the same stretch, at night, with rain and slush. That's how it was when we climbed up to Mangan a few nights ago. I think we managed better in the night as we couldn't see where we would go if we slide off the sides of the road. The day time was a different ball game. I have taken a liking to this local beverage, Tongba. The best part is you just add hot water and it ready for another round. It gives you a happy high. Tongba is a millet based alcoholic beverage and it is the traditional and indigenous drink of the tribal people of Sikkim the Limboo. Tongba is culturally and religiously important to the Limboo people. Offering tongba is a symbol of respect to a guest among the Limboo people and also an important drink for special occasions and festivals.
