What are you looking at?
I find my inspiration in people and structures. I am the kind of guy who can sit in an outdoor cafe and look at people for hours. Therefore I also find my passion in capturing people and their expression.  It is often incorporated into a scenery of interest. That’s my drive. And it’s essential to find that fascination with a subject or a style to find the joy of photography. Forcing yourself to…

How to keep the sensor clean.
If you never change the lens, then the sensor will stay clean for a long time.
And if you do change the lens, make sure to change the lens at a clean place with no dust and all and change the lens with clean hands.

I’ve been practicing photography again lately. The difference is that now I kinda know what am I doing when it comes to the measurements and all that. But I guess it took me long enough.
A very close relative is a professional photographer, and she gave me the first (digital) camera she ever used for me to practice. To her dismay, I soon stopped taking pics with it because I didn’t understand what was I doing, but my stubborn ass was bent on using the manual mode anyway. Try as she may, I was not really grasping what all those numbers meant. My self-imposed frustration made me put the camera away. However, I always liked photography, so I never really stopped trying to snap some good photos on my phone.
I recently got my hands on a very simple yet effective photography handbook. And, what do you know, it actually worked! I also learnt that Manual mode is not the end-all and be-all.
I still need to work on my composition and other technical stuff (50mm f/1.8 I’m looking at you). But, for however long this hobby lasts, at least I’ll have an excuse to go out and find beauty around me.
Have a happy Saturday, everyone!

For long exposure object photography, it's important no shakings will hit the camera or the object. And it's important that the light will not be blocked.

“Affection”
First post, Woohoo! (Finally back on tumblr!)
Like so many of you out there 2020 has been a tough year for me, and although it’s been rough I’ve been able to do a lot of self reflection (while trying to stay sane at home.) I realized that a lot of the “loves” (like photography) I had in my younger years were never explored, so I bit the bullet and got myself a camera!
If you’ve read this far, thank you.  This will serve as a diary of sorts as I try reteaching myself what I learned in my high school photo classes, and pick up some new skills along the way.
Strap in, because I’d love to have you along for the ride. <3
Love,
Mark
