Throwback Saturday to 10years ago, my audience in the picture were 99.8% Chinese. As it happened to be a Chinese party. What aided my performance then was the popular saying; "music is a universal language." I had to perform a solo and sing with no accompaniment. Just vocals. The least of my worries were the accompaniment. As my major concern was how I would convey my message to my audience so they could easily relate and understand. After my introduction, as soon as i picked up the microphone the whole room became so silent. And for a moment, as I looked at their faces smiling, I was able to translate their silence to mean sensitivity. I knew every little thing I do counts. From my movement, my facial expression, my posture & gestures. I decided to be deliberate in my delivery.
