Thank yooou, using this to further my "Obi-Wan is evil in the morning" agenda. This is GFFA, established relationship. [prompt list]

Anakin wakes up warm and safe, his head tucked firmly under Obi-Wan’s chin. They’re crammed into a narrow bunk on the Negotiator, still halfway dressed. Anakin’s feet are practically hanging off the end of the thin mattress.

He’s never been more comfortable in his life.

He pulls away just slightly, setting his head on the pillow and admiring Obi-Wan’s sleeping face. Like this, he looks less tense. Less tired. More like the man Anakin knew before the war.

Although, he supposes, the war has afforded him an entirely new view of Obi-Wan. He’s no longer just Anakin’s Master. He’s Anakin’s love, Anakin’s other half.

Anakin traces Obi-Wan’s features with delicate fingers.

A strong nose down to full lips and a beautiful beard.

The bob of his throat.

A hickey on his collar, just low enough to be hidden by his tunic.

The soft curl of chest hair that Anakin can never quite get enough of.

When the chronometer goes off, he watches the way Obi-Wan’s brow furrows. The way his lips twist into a frown as he slaps blindly at the device in an attempt to shut it off.

Unbidden, Anakin laughs.

He props himself up on one elbow and reaches past Obi-Wan to silence the alarm himself. Then he swoops down to give him a kiss, quick and close-mouthed.

“Good morning, Master.”

Obi-Wan opens his eyes with a bleary, disgruntled expression. “No morning is a good morning,” he grumbles. “Specially not before noon.”

“Technically,” Anakin points out, just to be contrary, “once it’s noon, it’s not morning anymore.”

Obi-Wan’s eyes narrow. This early, his Master can never come up with smart retorts. It’s not worth it, he says, before his first cup of caf.

Anakin— who has always loved the quiet hours when the Temple is still sleeping— can’t relate.

“You could’ve woken me up yourself instead of waiting for that damned chronometer, you know. I swear I have nightmares about that thing.”

“I wanted to let you sleep.” Anakin pouts as Obi-Wan pushes him back, standing up to fetch a new set of clothes.

“A shame,” Obi-Wan says casually, with just a hint of mischief. “If I’d been up, we’d have had more time for good-morning kisses.”

“Wait, does that mean we can’t have those?”

Anakin stands up, but Obi-Wan is already slipping away to the fresher, laughing in delight.

“Master, come back! Master!”

He pounds on the fresher door, still gaping in disbelief.

“Obi-Wan, come back here and kiss me again!”
