along with the evening sun came the winter cold, and ruggie shrugs his coat and scarf on as he makes his way back to the dorm, the rays of the sun giving way to the moon and the night sky faster than he could anticipate. stuffing his hands in his pockets, ruggie shuffles through the crowd ploughing through the mirrors as some of the savanaclaw first years greet him.

"hey ruggie! agatha's waitin' for you in your room. said she was gonna wait for you." they say by way of greeting before scurrying off to the cafeteria and ruggie rushes to his room, and though he tries to stop his heart from thudding in his chest so hard his ribs could crack, he cannot, and as he reaches his door, he finds his heart in his throat, ready to burst. but he opens the door anyway, gentle and soft, uncharacteristic of him.

and ruggie bucchi smiles when fluffy red hair greets him in the safety of his room. "'ey, 'gatha. missed ya." he murmurs as he takes off his coat and scarf, and truly gets to see her, all drowsy in the light of the desert night. "ya shouldn't have waited up for me. i was gonna be working late tonight, remember?"

"it's not all that late," agatha murmurs back, and ruggie's eyes crinkle- this is what love feels like; warm and kind, like the scarf wrapped around him to protect him from the night. "i wanted to spend some time with you."

"meu precioso, meu ganancioso." my prescious, my greedy. is it greedy to want this kind of love? "eu amarei cada parte de você para sempre." i'll love every part of you forever.

tentative timeline!!

december 2024 - applications open! january 10 2025 - work starts, everyone has joined the server february 10-14 - check in #1 march 10-14 - check in #2 april 10-14 - check in #3 may 10-15 - final submissions the zine should be released latest by the end of june!

rules of the fanzine!!

the fanzine is 13+ and will be featured in A4 size :) writers must write between 700-2000 words, and artists must make either landscape/portait art in A4 (3508 x 2480 and 2480 x 3508 pixels) or a 2 page spread art in A3 size (4960 x 3508 pixels). the pixel sizes are to ensure everything is fine when printed by the contributors!! along with the creators, we may also feature digital merch that can be printed out in small quantities by anyone, so merch artists are also welcome!! please note that the zine is free!

Second art trade! Written by the wonderful @le-monchou ^^ thank you for doing this art trade with me. Your writing is gorgeous and so whimsy, I keep going back to this cause finally the scenarios in my head was created by a writer😭😭

Reunion of old friends

I sense power, but no shape. The nature of your soul is unclear to me. Soundless. Colorless. Shapeless. Therefore, no dorm would be appropriate. 

If there was ever a way to be utterly humiliated, but at the same time, not, this would be the perfect way to start. Stand oneself in front of cocky, growing mages, and have the one who reads one’s soul say that you were not a fit for the institution that chose you. Truly, there is no way better or worse— however, despite everything, one must stay as calm and composed as they can. In times of uncertainty, moving with the river shall surely drown you. 

As Stolas walks past the other groups of students sorted into their own dorms, he sees a mop of familiar hair standing in the distance. His first thought is to run, pretend he did not see him in the crowd— but that is nigh impossible given his stature and the colours in his hair, and his peering eyes, which would surely see through his attempt to ignore him. But one does not always get to do what one likes, and shying away from a well-loved and respected elder? An old friend? Never— it is a discourtesy of the highest order. 

“Stolas! It has been a long time. Have you been well?” Lilia smiles at him, and though the smile is weary, like the weight of being a father and a mentor to the prince himself has shaped him in a way Stolas might never understand, Stolas smiles back, a slight smile, with his eyes crinkling. “It is a shame you were not placed in Diasomnia— though it is no fault of yours, I assure you.” 

“Many students attending whisper that the mirror has a mind of its own, and often they do not understand what it means, but keep your chin up! This dorm you are part of now has a history of its own.” Stolas levels a look at Lilia as Lilia finishes, a slight breath taken before he poses the question. “Are you… perhaps disappointed that I was not selected for Diasomnia, Lilia?” 

“Disappointed?” Stolas nods. “No, never. I could never be. Regardless of the reason you could not attend or the fact that you were not placed in any dorm at all, which is truly odd, you simply could not, and thus, there is no reason for me to be disappointed. But it would have been nice for Malleus and you to be with each other— the two of you complement each other well, and he would not have been as lonely as he is now.”

“And anyway, Ramshackle, though it is called that now, was one of the very first dorms of this college, for the best of the best.” Lilia adds, his ceremonial robes billowing around him as a light wind passes through the corridor. “It is a lesson to be learnt regardless, about the passage of time. Those of us who live long… we do not keep in mind the passage of the years. The days are long, but the years are small, and eventually, friends and lovers shall all be left or leave you behind.” 

“Well, I had some health complications and well… the complications, they were… being handled.” Stolas starts with an unsure tone, and Lilia nods, though his eyes widen. “They were severe enough, but now, they have been mostly remedied, so I am free to attend.”

The room around him was blurry, and his head hurt. At the moment, those were the only two things he could note, throat dry and thoughts hazy, like his vision through the smoke. Stolas tried his best to inhale, but something, somewhere hurt, and he felt like he was drowning in the depths of the pain. 

“Stolas? Stolas?!” he hears somewhere above him, and he opens his eyes wearily to see his mother standing above him. “Oh, my dear. Yes, yes, you will heal soon.” A tired hand cups his cheek, and for a minute, he feels small again— small enough to fit snugly on her lap. “Stolas, my dear, keep fighting. Do not stop.” she whispers as the peace shatters, and he starts heaving and coughing again, rolling to the side to maybe throw something out of his body. But the question is— what exactly is his body fighting against? “We need some more potions here! Hurry, we don’t have time!” is all Stolas hears as his vision turns black once again.

“Stolas? Stolas?” he hears ahead of him, and he shakes his head gently. “My sincerest apologies, Lilia. I seemed to have drifted out of our conversation. You were saying?” 

“I am sorry for all the pain you went through.” The expression on his face remained unreadable, though Stolas believed there was a mixture of understanding and pity. “No one should ever go through such pain. You are extremely brave, and I admire you intently.” 

“You should not.” Stolas replies smoothly. “I have done nothing for you to admire me so.”

“I think this is enough. Do you not?” Lilia whispers gently as he sees Silver and Sebek behind Stolas, raising a gloved hand to greet them. “Silver! Sebek! Look who’s here— it’s been a while, hasn’t it?” 

“Stolas! It has, it has— how have you been?” Silver interjects before Sebek yells and attracts attention to them again— his mishap at following the housewarden of Scarabia to his dorm was already enough mishaps for the day.

“I have been well, recently. It is good to see you all after a long time.” Stolas smiles, warm and inviting. “To see Malleus would have been the best for this unforetold reunion— not just as a prince or as your housewarden, but merely as a friend.” Lilia chuckles and starts walking towards the Hall of Mirrors, and Silver, Sebek, and Stolas follow, the wind of the conversation not having died down. 

“Ramshackle is technically Malleus’ hunting grounds, so I’m sure you’ll see him around as you settle into the dorm.” Lilia starts as he hums a little. “And I’m sure you’ll also join a club soon, so you’ll get a chance to explore everything further. I’ll see you around then, Stolas.” he finishes, waving goodbye as his back disappears through the mirror, Silver and Sebek also waving goodbye and following suit. 

I’m sure you’ll see him around as you settle into the dorm. “That’s odd, though.” Stolas muses as he turns around and heads to the dorm Crowley had so kindly gifted him. “Is he not a housewarden? Then where was he?”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEMIIIII

I hope you have a fun birthday and spend it in the way that makes you happiest 💖Thank you for being a really solid friend, and I hope I get to know you even better as time carries on. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this drabble in the Android Leona AU!

"Stop moving. You can't even feel what I'm doing."

Nemi's voice grew increasingly annoyed as the android seemed to take delight in his frustration. Leona mocked him with a simulated yawn, holding it's arm out as instructed but rolling it's upper body onto the workbench, not unlike a cat - or a bored toddler.

"How would you know? Maybe I can."

It's tail flicked in amusement, an almost smug smile on it's face as Nemi grumbled, but to it's dismay, there was nothing more to his reaction.

The slight whirr of his fans picked up as if to more openly express his annoyance, getting impatient as Nemi soldered some servo for what felt like the upteenth time in the last hour or so. They wanted the upgrade. Leona had only agreed because he thought it was going to be quick.

It drummed it's fingers idly with it's free hand against the table, mocking the mechanic with a long sigh. It's optics shifted just enough to see if it had warranted any response, but was disappointed once again when Nemi seemed too invested in his upgrading to care.

Leona studied him a little more closely. His gloves old, dirty and worn from work had left a small smear of grease on his cheek earlier when he had brushed away a stray hair. His focus remained fixated on Leona's arm, a homemade magnifying glass-bracelet gadget fitted to his wrist only served to amplify the inherent charm of man's ingenuity. Even with what few supplies he had, he was doing everything in his power to make Leona's existence easier. Why, Leona was unsure it would ever understand, but it was appreciated. It's optics took in everything like it was the first time again - the furrowed brow, the intensity of their eyes, their slight pout.

Leona's tail flicked playfully again, as a grin tugged at the corner of his "mouth".

"You look pretty cute like that y'kn-"

A resounding clang was heard as Nemi near unthinkingly bopped it over the head - not hard, just enough to make it shut up.

"Ow...what was that for?" Leona feigned injury, rubbing the top of it's head a bit where Nemi had struck it.

Nemi, caught up between emotions, nearly apologized, before realizing he wasn't entirely sure if that was Leona simply wanting to get a reaction out of him, or if it had been a genuine compliment. He cleared his throat and waved his hand dismissively.

"You said maybe you could feel things. I was just hoping one of them was pain, because you clearly have no shame!"
