It would seem that bento is just a lunch that you can take with you, right? No. A bento is a dinner (or any other meal) that looks equally attractive to both a tooth and an eye 👀 — like everything else in Japanese cuisine. We have collected some basic products for you that should get into your bento 🍱.  ⠀⠀ 🍚 Rice is one of the main ingredients. Even the most seemingly ordinary rice can be cooked in many ways. For the Japanese, the following options are considered traditional: ⠀⠀ 🍙 Hakumai – that we all know. Plain white rice without additives. 🍙 Genmai – more exotic brown rice. 🍙 Sekihan – added red beans. 🍙 Zakkokumai – mixed with seeds and grains. 🍙 Noriben – as we saw in our article on the history of bento – the nori is added here. 🍙 Wakame gohan – seaweed. ⠀⠀ 🌅 Umeboshi (or 梅干, or ume – dried Japanese plums) – literally salted and sour apricot. Yellow or greenish-yellow, the taste is strongly sour-salty. Very useful if eating before a meal. The Japanese themselves consider it indispensable in diseases of the heart, throat and with banal fatigue. ⠀⠀ 🍅 Salads – add seasonal vegetables and salad. ⠀⠀ 🍳 Tamagoyaki – Japanese rolled omelet with a characteristic sweetish taste. Used as a side dish or breakfast. For cooking use eggs, nori, daikon radish, soy sauce. ⠀⠀ 🍤 Agemono – deep-fried food. Usually fried chicken, fish (marinated separately), octopus, pork and other meats, vegetables, tofu. ⠀⠀ 🍖 Gyudon – literally, a plate of beef. Usually, it is stewed with onion and soy sauce beef which is placed on top of the rice. Sometimes with the addition of raw eggs. ⠀⠀ 🍣 Sushi is a well-known Japanese dish consisting of a ball of rice on which a piece of raw fish is put. ⠀⠀ What good ingredients for bento do you know? 🍱 Lunch boxes can save you a lot of money when compared to food in cafes or restaurants 🍴. We will show you some tips on how to choose the right lunchbox for you. ⠀⠀ 🙋 CHOOSE YOUR FOOD Think for yourself: one thing is soups, another is yogurt or sandwiches. A single-tier box with sections is well suited for sandwiches, for lovers of dairy – a container with a cooler, children who have a whole day painted by the minute – a heated box. ⠀⠀ 😲 SIZE IS IMPORTANT Size matters. A large lunch box – a hearty lunch, a small – quick snack. But no one bothers you to take a lunch bag with you and put lunch and dinner at once if your work requires it. ⠀⠀ 👀 THE INTERIOR OF THE CONTAINER Is there any separation into sections and compartments? Do you need a single or two- or three-tier box for food? ⠀⠀ 💦 LEAKPROOF Of course, one of the most important factors is leakproof. Your soup or yogurt should stay inside and not run away. Over time, these rubber layers become useless after which they need to be replaced or to acquire new meal storage. ⠀⠀ ⌚ DURATION OF THE DAY If you are working for a long time or are planning a long journey, the size of the container and the time for keeping it warm must be appropriate. ⠀⠀ 🌿 ECO-FRIENDLY The lunchbox must be made of food-grade plastic that does not contain harmful chemicals, such as bisphenol A (BPA-Free). ⠀⠀ 🔥 MICROWAVE-READY Another nuance: is it possible to heat food in a container? On the box, there is usually a mark that it can be used in a microwave oven. ⠀⠀ 💧 DISHWASHER-SAFE Well, if the lunchbox can be washed in the dishwasher. Wash it immediately after use so that the plastic does not absorb odors. ⠀⠀ 👍 Advantages to your container will add: * Carrying handle, extra space for fruit or cookies. * Isothermal coating in bags where lunchboxes lie (neoprene is a good choice). * Plastic cutlery set (spoon, fork, and knife). ⠀⠀ Eat deliciously! All above showed features of lunch boxes available on our shop. There are many very different styles of bento 🍱. Almost every region has its own traditions for its preparation and design. The following are just some of the fairly well-known variations 👍. ⠀⠀ 🍘CHUKA. Filled with chinese food. Often used as an appetizer or a daytime snack. ⠀⠀ 🍘KAMAMESHI. Sold at railway stations in heated clay pots. The pot itself can then be left as a souvenir. ⠀⠀ 🍘MAKUNOUCHI BENTO. Descendant of containers from the 19th century. Nowadays rice, ume (pickled plum, umeboshi), fish and hard-boiled eggs are added to it. ⠀⠀ 🍘 NORIBEN. From the name can be distinguished nori, which indicates the presence of a leaf of algae. As a rule, the minimum this storage consists of rice, covered with a leaf of nori. ⠀⠀ 🍘 SAKE BENTO. Standard version with rice and grilled salmon. ⠀⠀ 🍘 TORI. Chicken meat is added instead of traditional fish. ⠀⠀ 🍘 KYARABEN. This is a stronghold for the creativity of mothers of Japanese schoolchildren since here they try to visually arrange all the food in the favorite anime or movie of the child’s character. ⠀⠀ 🍘 EKIBEN. Also a tribute to history. An ancient type of lunch container, which was sold at railway stations. ⠀⠀ 🍘 HINOMARU BENTO. Storage, which appeared during the Second World War and carried a patriotic attitude. It consisted of only two components – rice and one pickled plum (ume). ⠀⠀ 🍘 SHIKAESHIBEN. This is a bento of insult or revenge. Often the wife, offended by the act of her husband, prepares such a lunchbox for him and writes her claims there, makes an offensive drawing or makes the entire container inedible. ⠀⠀ 🍘 SOBORO. Shredded chicken, meat, fish, shrimp or eggs help transform an ordinary white rice dish into a vibrant color mosaic that looks seductive and has a pleasant taste. ⠀⠀ Are we missed something or wrote incorrectly 🙅? We will be glad to hear your opinion in the comments 👇. . . . . . #mealprepdaily #lunchboxlove #mealprepideas #bentolunchbox #mealpreplife #mealpreps #mealdiary #bento #mealpreparation #mealplanner #obento #mealoftheday #healthymealplan #lbxsl_post #lunchboxdotsale https://www.instagram.com/lunchboxsale/p/BwAQKX8hQiP/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rt47q4q0fl1m

Bringing food for lunch from home is good for a variety of reasons: lunch is cheap, guaranteed to your taste and made from quality products. But all these advantages can erase a few mistakes ⛔ that we make while preparing lunch-box 🍱. ⠀⠀ 😷 MISTAKE #1. Sometimes at lunchtime, the office is filled with such aromas that you want to immediately run away from the office and never return there. Among the most fragrant dinners are dishes with fish, exotic sauces, cauliflower, and many products fried in oil. ⠀⠀ There are two ways out: exclude these products from your office menu or change the way they are cooked. Since their smell is enhanced by heating, make something that can be eaten cold: salads, spring rolls, etc. Moreover, if you want a hot dish, take a classic with you: steamed vegetables and meat. ⠀⠀ 🔥 MISTAKE #2. When choosing your container is worth seeing whether it is suitable for heating in microwave ovens. If the container is not intended for this, then it can be deformed or release substances that will be absorbed in food and adversely affect your health. ⠀⠀ 🙅 MISTAKE #3. Wrong lunch box storage. Not in the fridge. In this form, not all dishes can fully survive before the lunch break. ⠀⠀ 🍝 MISTAKE #4. Don`t take what`s left from supper. If in the evening you baked meat in the oven, then you can take it with you. The same applies to yesterday’s soups. But the side dish, especially vegetable, it is better to cook in the morning, so that the loss of vitamins was minimal. Also make notice, that some microorganisms can grow at low temperatures – + 4-5 ° С. ⠀⠀ 🍱 MISTAKE #5. Put the necessary amount of food in your usual plate at home, and then move lunch to a container. So you save yourself from overeating. It will also be useful to pre-calculate the caloric content of the food that is placed in the lunch box. ⠀⠀ Do not be lazy to take food to the office and make your own menu, which will suit your taste. Did you make these mistakes?
