Letra
you closed all the doors for me
but left a window open, hoping I would come slithering
Yeah, yeah
(Yeah, Yeah)
Like moths flying in the shadows
Trying to find a light to guide them
Yeah, yeah
(Yeah, yeah)
When you dream at night, I know whats your fantasy
I am the one you see, I am the one you see
I set the scene, and you don't make a move
You the dreamer and I'm the muse, oh yeah
(I am the muse of nightmares, baby)
Your needy eyes are my suckerpunch
And I aint giving what you want
(I am the muse of nightmares, baby)
I am the muse of nightmares, baby...
I screamed my heart out to the night
When you walked out of my life, didnt I?
(didnt I?)
Funny now how you did the same
On your knees, calling my name
Didnt you?
(Didnt you?)
When you dream at night, I know whats your fantasy
I am the one you see, I am the one you see
I set the scene, and you don't make a move
You the dreamer and I'm the muse, oh yeah
(I am the muse of nightmares, baby)
Your needy eyes are my suckerpunch
And I aint giving what you want
(I am the muse of nightmares, baby)
Oh, you took the best of me thinking that wouldnt coust a thing?
(I am..the...muse of...nightmares, baby)
Now you doomed to dream of me, night by night,
Never will be free
Cause I am the muse of nightmares, baby
(I am..the...muse of...nightmares, baby, I am..the...muse of...nightmares, baby)
Oh, you took the best of me thinking that wouldnt coust a thing?
(I am..the...muse of...nightmares, baby)
Oh, you took the best of me thinking that wouldnt coust a thing?

Yoko-Zuna share new single ‘Yours’ featuring Miloux
For the last half decade, Auckland-based jazz/prog-fusion four piece Yoko-Zuna have in a no-nonsense manner, built themselves a rock solid local reputation as a compelling, performance-focused live act, studio project, and top-tier backing band option for Aotearoa New Zealand’s hip-hop, RnB and soul music communities.
After releasing their expansive second album Voyager last year, and following it up with some superbly realised multimedia live shows, they’re currently gearing up for, in celebration of their first five years together as a band, the release of Voyager: B-Sides & Remixes collection.
Our first window into this collection is ‘Yours’, a collaboration with fellow Auckland-based vocalist and producer Miloux. Much like Yoko-Zuna, Miloux has spent the last few years building herself a multi-faceted reputation through releasing her own neo-soul, jazz and downbeat infused material collaborating with a range of Australian and New Zealand electronica artists, and producing for Dubai-based singer Layla Kardan.
On ‘Yours’ Miloux lends a refined, heartsick elegance to the spacious cosmic soul backdrop Yoko-Zuna dreamed up for her, matching a vocal cadence straight out of late 90s/early 2000s Soulquarian era neo-soul with jazzy percussion and warm sweeping synths, all building to a crescendo around her repeated refrain of “I would be.” Three minutes of listening time well spent.
You can stream or purchase ‘Yours’ through Spotify or Bandcamp.
