Laxana Family Headcanons

wow it’s been a HOT minute since I wrote any form of headcanons, so I’m really sorry if I’m a bit rusty. I was originally going to do a longer work, but life simply got in the way. I definitely thought doing something was better than doing nothing. So here it goes! I hope you enjoy!! @lightningstud

For starters, Cana never meets Ivan. The closest she got to meeting him was at the Grand Magic Games, but neither were formally introduced. Laxus is adamant that it would be a cold day in hell before his beloved Cana ever stepped near his disappointment of a father.

It was a bit weird for Laxus to “meet” Gildarts as Cana’s boyfriend, especially since Gildarts was almost a pseudo-father figure to Laxus as well.

It was a really strange interaction too. Gildarts kept switching from joking with Laxus like old times to putting up the “don’t you dare hurt my daughter” persona. (Cana was very annoyed by the latter.)

Obviously, Gildarts supports the relationship. He wants nothing more than to see his daughter happy.

Laxus and Cana don’t actively start to try a family on their own. They’re quite literally the worst two people in the guild at planning...well, anything. So the first baby is definitely a surprise.

Regardless of how long the pair had been together before she finds out, Cana is absolutely terrified.

Her doubts also tend to get the best of her. She continues to think back to all her mother had to do as a single mother, and then her many many years of loneliness as she watched Gildarts from afar.

The second Laxus finds out about these, he’s quick to prove her doubts wrong.

However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a few of his own.

The last thing that Laxus wants to be is a father like his own dad was to him. It’s the fear that looms over his head the most.

However, just as Laxus prove Cana’s fears wrong, she is able to reassure him with a few simple words.

You are not your father.

They spend the rest of Cana’s pregnancy actually preparing (even if Mirajane is the one pulling this couple through the pregnancy).

Somehow, though neither saw this pregnancy coming, they each begin to actually look forward to it- and their new child.

Freed may or may not have cried tears of joy when he heard they were having a baby.

Bickslow made some weird yet endearing comment that Laxus was sure was supposed to be a congratulations when he’d heard the news.

Evergreen remarked how she was just thankful that it wasn’t herself and Elfman (...this time ;)).

If the baby is a girl, there’s not doubt in my mind they name this child Cornelia Alberona-Dreyar.

If the baby is a boy, I’m not so sure. Though I’m sure the name would have something to do with either Makarov or Gildarts. More than likely Makakrov.

This couple makes sure to name their children after important people in their lives.

It’s important to both of them that their children carry each of their last names. Together, they made the child. Together, they will raise them. Together, they will love them.

I’m not too sure if they’ll have many kids after the one- at least, biologically.

Maybe they’ll have another “surprise” or even two (because as much as I love them, they’re each a bit stubborn and irresponsible).

However, these two will 100% help raise children who come into the guild.

Sure, they may not legally adopt them, but Cana wants to make sure that no child ever feels the way she felt she had to for so many years as she sat in the Fairy Tail Guild Hall.

Overall, their family becomes unexpectedly large. It wasn’t how these two really envisioned their lives going.

However, they’re happy with how it turned out- extremely happy.

There’s no other place these two would rather be than with each other and with their family.

How long will they last? - As long as they possibly can.

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Neither of them would really be able to pinpoint when their feelings for each other evolved from "friendship" to "crushing" to "love."

How was their first kiss? - Soft and hesitant, but quickly changes into something deeper and more passionate.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - Cana. She'd totally throw out a casual proposal one day, really annoying Laxus, who'd have been spending weeks trying to figure out the best way to propose.

Who is the best man/men? - Natsu. (Laxus would get really sick of listening to Bickslow and Freed bickering over which of them should be his best man, and he'd finally decide on Natsu to get them both to shut up.)

Who is the bride’s maid(s)? - Lucy.

Who did the most planning? - Laxus. (Cana'd have zero interest in planning some big shindig, she'd honestly prefer to just elope, but Laxus would be aware that Gildarts would kill him if his little girl didn't get her special day.)

Who stressed the most? - Cana. She'd just want all of this to be over already.

How fancy was the ceremony? -  Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - Ivan, obviously.

Children:

How many children will they have naturally? - As many as they have. I don't see either of them sitting down and planning out exactly how many kids they'd want and when they'd want to have them. Probably somewhere between two and six.

How many children will they adopt? - One or two.

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Probably about even?

Who is the stricter parent? - Laxus, maybe? But not by much.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Not sure. Maaaaybe Cana?

Who is the more loved parent? - None of their kids would ever admit to having a favorite parent. Much more practical to plead with whichever parent is most likely to give them what they want in a given circumstance.

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - Cana. (Until she'd politely be asked to stop coming.)

Who cried the most at graduation? - Cana. (Don't tell anyone.)

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Honestly, both of them.

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - Laxus. He's actually a pretty good cook.

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Laxus can be a little picky at times, but not extremely so.

Who does the grocery shopping? - Cana.

How often do they bake desserts? - Not too often. Neither of them have much of a sweet tooth. (Once in a while, Cana'd whip up a batch of delicious chocolate chip cookies.)

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Meat.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Hmmm...... Laxus, maybe?

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Cana.

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? - Cana. (It was one time!)

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - They're both pretty good about cleaning up after themselves.

Who is really against chores? - Neither of them loves them, but they'll do what's needed.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Considering it'd be Cana's idea to get the dog, she'd probably get stuck with the clean-up.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Laxus.

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Neither. (Unless the guest in question is Gildarts, in which case Laxus would likely have a mild freak out beforehand.)

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Laxus.

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Cana. It'd be a daily struggle for Laxus to even get into the bathroom.

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Cana.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Sometimes? When they remember?

What are their goals for the relationship? - To just be there for each other.

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Both of them.

Who plays the most pranks? - Cana.

En Retard August 31: Family

August 31: Family

Le bar de la guilde était assez calme. Gajeel jetait depuis plusieurs minutes quelques regards à une table derrière lui. La journée était pour une fois calme à Fairytail et il n'y avait que ses pensées pour être bruyante. Cana ne buvait pas au bar pour une fois, préféré s’asseoir avec Lucy. Mirajane et Lisana discutaient avec le maître, les deux sœurs nettoyant des verres touts en discutant gaîment.

Et Luxus était là, buvant en discutant à une table avec Evergreen et Bixslow. Cela devais être étrange de revoir un ami après si longtemps pensa Gajeel, se doutant que si jamais Juvia ou Levy disparaissait soudainement, il aurait beaucoup de temps à rattrapé et plus d’un tonneau d’alcool a vidé. Il doutait tout de même que Levy soit du genre à boire de la bière et il craignait de voir la mage aquatique complètement saoul.

Gajeel soupira en se tournant, observant un instant le plat devant lui. Il attrapait machinalement une poignée de boulots dans son assiette, réfléchissant sur le retour de l'île. Avant  l’île tenro il n’aurait jamais eu à se faire aussi mal au cou, observant la table derrière lui en espérant être assez discret.

Sept étaient passés, quelques petites choses avaient changés, comme Luxus qui était de retour. Il ne l'avait pas revue depuis son exile, et il ne comprenait pas vraiment pourquoi il s'en souciait. Ce n'était pas ses affaires, et il n’avais jamais prit attention avant aux autres membres de la guilde, hormis quelques rares amis.

Il soupira, avalant une nouvelle vice métallique. Gajeel devait reconnaître que le blond avait fait un bon adversaire, bien plus que la salamandre. Il ressentait encore l'excitation et le frisson du combat rien qu'en y repensant. Il n’avais pas affronté depuis d’autre chasseur de dragon, ou mage assez fort pour avoir le sentiment palpitant d’un combat cruciale et désespéré.

Cela serait tentant de l'affronter de nouveau, mais il n'était pas comme Natsu à harcelé les gens pour des combats. Il n’allait faire comme la tête brûler et supplier d’avoir un peu d’action. Même si son sang bouillonnait à l'idée d'un nouveau combat. Ils étaient tout les deux plus puissants qu'avant après tout. Peut être que les résultats changerais, peut être que Gajeel se prendrait la défaite la plus douloureuse mais palpitante de sa vie ? Ou bien il réussirait à gagner.

Il aimerais refaire un combat en duo, mais pas avec Natsu. Surtout pas avec la salamandre de nouveau pensa avec humour l’homme.

En parlant de Natsu, la salamandre était la quand il tourna de nouveau la tête vers la table de l’unité Rajin. Il harcelait le blond, et le résultat de cette affrontement ne fut pas surprenant. Le mage enflammé vola au-dessus des tables, tombant non loin de Gray et Erza.

C'était à se demander comment le jeune homme avait réussi à battre Luxus une première fois. Gajeel ne penser pas que son aide avait fait une grande différence.

"La place est libre?" Demanda poliment quelqu'un a coté de lui.

Il fut surpris de découvrir Fried, lui qui d'habitude préférait rester avec son équipe et Luxus. Gajeel fronça les sourcilles mais accepta, espérant que le mage runique n’avais rien en tête. Il n’avait jamais vraiment parler à l’autre homme mais il avait suffisamment parler avec Mirajane pour comprendre qu’il n’y avait pas qu’un seul démon à Fairytail. Mais peut être voulait-il seulement boire au calme, loin de ses amis agiter depuis leur retour sur le continent et la découvert de sept ans d’absence.

Le mage runique lui sourit et prit place à côté de lui, posant avec soins sa tasse de thé sur le bar. Il eu quelque instant de silence, avant que Gajeel soit de nouveau sortie de ses pensées. Le chasseur de dragon avait presque oublier la présence à coté de lui, observant pensif son assiette.

"Tu devrais lui parler." Dit-Fried de manière désintéresser, et Gajeel comprit tout de suite de quoi il parlait.

Voilà pourquoi Fried avait prit place à côté de lui. L'homme ne faisait rien par hasard, Gajeel n'aurait pas dû en douter. "Je ne pense pas. Cela serait ridicule."

Même lui voyait comment les choses ne se passerait pas bien, avec leur caractère chaotique et surtout ils étaient presque des inconnues.

"Depuis quelques temps tout semble ridicule." Répondit Fried en prenant une gorgée de son thé. "La peur de mourir donne envie de se mettre les choses à nue de peur d’avoir à regretté notre silence. Je n’aurais pas cru passer se premier mois ainsi mais maintenant je suis avec Bixslow, j’ai vu Cana s’enfermait avec Lucy dans la réserve et je ne serais pas surprit de voir Natsu tenter à son tour quelques chose de ridicule."

Gajeel se refrongnat mais ne dit rien. Il n'y avait dans cette guilde que deux personnes qu'il ne comprendrait jamais, et qui semblaient particulièrement surprenant et la quintessence même de la bizarrerie à ses yeux, Bixslow était l'un deux. L'autre étant bien sûr la bunny-girl.

."Et pourquoi pense tu que je devrais aller le voir ? Je n'ai clairement aucune chance."

" L'unité Rajin fut ma première famille, avant que je considère la guilde comme ma famille." Commença Fried. "J’était enfant unique, sans la moindre attache depuis des semaines puis soudainement je me retrouver à devoir m’occuper et vivre avec d’autres personne, et lentement j’avais l’impression d’avoir retrouver un nouveau grand frère et une sœur." Chacun avait eu une histoire tragique avait Fairy Tail. "J'ai grandit avec eux et je suis bien placé pour savoir que Luxus et comme Bixslow."

"Des idiots ? " Proposa le chasseur de dragon, et Fried acquiesça

"Ils faut sans cesse les pousser, à croire qu'ils sont timides. J'ai dit prendre plus d'une fois les choses en main." Confirma Fried. Cela en était pénible à force, mais après autant de temps avec eux, Fried était habituer.

"Tu veux dire que ...?"

"Tu pensais vraiment qu'il me l'avait demandé de lui-même ?" Rit-il. Le silence de Gajeel lui suffit

Le chasseur de dragon avait pensé, comme beaucoup que c'était une initiative du mage celtique, une lobby comme tant d'autres et une autre bizarrerie.

"Je dut, grossièrement le chauffer. C'était au début fastidieux mais cela a fini par payer." Dit Fried en reprenant une gorgée de son thé, comme si le mage parlait d’un sujet complètement anecdotique. "Evergreen m'en veux encore mais j'avais besoins d'utiliser les gros moyens."

Le mage aurait préféré se passer de cet étape. L'homme était quelqu'un de calme et de pudique. Mais cela était assez amusant de voir l'autre homme réagir à chaque fois. Cela avait quelques chose de flatteur sans doute qui avait vite fait oublier son inconfort en devant se présenté sans chemise et parfois plus.

"Je ne vais pas me balader en caleçon dans la guilde." Marmonna Gajeel gênais, faisant rire Fried.

"Non, bien sûr que non." Rassura l'homme . "Mais parle lui. Cela résoudra bien des problèmes pour nous et pour toi."

"Pourquoi tu veux à se point que je couche avec Luxus." Pourquoi veux-tu que je soit avec cet homme alors qu’il serait plus facile pour Fried de le laisser dans sa misère.

"Luxus est comme le frère que j’avais perdu. Je ferait tout pour lui, comme je ferait tout pour Evergreen ou Bixslow. Si cela le rend plus heureux d’être avec toi, et je serait prêt à t’attacher et te livrer devant sa porte." Dit calmement Fried, la menace à peine contenue malgré sa voix polie et professionnel. Gajeel supposait qu’il ferait pareil pour Juvia. "Si tu veux nous éviter tout ses ennuies, je pense que tu devrais t’y rendre de toi-même se soir. Je te promet que tout se passera pour le mieux."

Gajeel ne semblait pas encore convaincu, alors que Fried terminait de boire son thé. Après il n’avais rien à perdre, mise à part un perdre peu d’ego et sans doute son image. Il pourrait toujours évité Luxus plus tard, ou partir pour une longue mission le temps que l’histoire se tasse. Il n’y aurait que lui et Freed en courant de ça de toute manière.

Il n’était pas encore convaincu, du moins pas complètement, même devant la porte de la maison que se partager l’unité Rajin. Mais une fois que la porte s’ouvrit il était trop tard pour reculé, et il devait reconnaître maintenant qu’il était dans le lit du seul occupant de la maison que cela faisait du bien d’avoir mit les choses sur la table.

Il avait eu en plus la meilleur baise de sa vie.

Behold a fic. This was written for Laxus Rarepair Week 2021 (@lightningstud) and features Laxus/Gray as the main pairing. The premise is that Gray pretends to date Laxus to shake her off, accidentally falling for him for real in the process. Juvia's reactions to all of this serve as a fix-up for her character as well.

This was constrained to the five (5) chapters I originally planned for it but as you can tell by the word count, it ballooned as I went and now it's a beast. I hope you enjoy!

"Tu part comme un voleur ?" Demanda Erik, ou Cobra comme il se faisait appeler maintenant. Cela semblait toujours étrange, mais Luxus avait l’habitude de voir des hommes changer de noms sur la route, fuyant un passé criminelle, une vie de famille tumultueuse ou un manque de liberté quelconque. Ce qui était surprenant c’était de voir le voir réveillé.

La chambre était plongé dans l’obscurité, le motel respirant le bas prix avec ses murs unis jaunes et abîmés par le temps, le simple lit qu’ils avaient dut partager et une chaise et la télévision accrocher au mur. Tout respirait les bas de gammes flagrants. Les deux hommes avaient l’habitude de se genre de chambre, voyageant à travers le pays sur leur moto et errant presque au hasard sur les routes.

Cobra était allonger nue dans le lit, son œil valide s’ouvrant pour observait le blond encore nu lui aussi. Le roux ne manquait pas d’observer se qui lui été présenté, nullement gêner par se genre de chose. Ce n’était pas la première fois des deux hommes, et sur la route on prenait le plaisir là ou il était. La pudeur n’y avait pas vraiment sa place.

Luxus haussa les épaules, attrapant ses vêtements qui avait été jeter négligemment sur le sol. "Cela ne sert a rien de faire durer inutilement la chose." Répondis le blond, laissant Cobra l’observait un instant avant de se laisser tomber contre le matelas de mauvaise qualité.

"Même pas un au-revoir après tout se qu’on a traversé ?" Plaisanta le roux, voyant l’ombre d’un sourire orné les traits de Luxus.

"Tu en as bien eu assez, laisse ça à des sentimentaliste au lieu de m’emmerder avec ça." Dit-il en finissant d’enfiler sa chemise , il ne restait à Luxus que de prendre les clés de sa moto et il allait partir sans laisser de trace de sa présence dans la chambre mise à part l’odeur de sexe toujours persistante. C’était néanmoins dommage de devoir se contenter d’une seule fois avec le blond continua de penser Cobra.

Ce n’était pas leur première rencontre mais le roux préféré profiter vraiment de la présence de l’autre quand il en avait l’occasion. Mais Cobra savais que cela ne servait à rien de tenter d’arrêter l’autre homme quand il avait  une idée en tête. Ils se verront bien assez vite sur une route hasardeuse pour recommencer là ou ils s’étaient arrêter. Il devrais suivre les conseilles de la bande qui accompagner le blond et l’attacher.

Peut être qu’avec des menottes les choses seraient plus piquante, et Cobra serait sur d’avoir un deuxième round le matin ainsi. Il allait songé à ça.

La journée avait été assez mauvaise. Il n’arrêtait pas de pleuvoir, noyant la ville sous d’épais nuages gris foncer et un temps si horrible que la guilde fut vide une bonne partie de la journée. Cela laissait le hall presque sinistre, mais Cana avait un désagréable sentiment de vide que même l’alcool ne pouvait chasser qui semblait élargir un trou en elle.

Elle avait tenté en vain de l’ignorer, discutant avec Mirajane ou Lucy une bonne partie de la journée.  Tout semblant empirer quand quelques nuages noirs se glissèrent entre le gris de la journée, l’orage grondant et menaçant quiconque d’assez fou pour être dehors. La plupart des mages partirent , comprenant que le temps était une invitation à rester chez eux, au sec et dans le confort de lit ou de canapé.

Cana hésitait à partir elle aussi, observant accouder au mur le temps dégénéré dehors. Sa chope de bière était vide depuis un moment quand le premier éclaire tomba, brisant le silence de la pluie et agitant le ciel d’un immense flash. Cana frissonna, se rendant compte qu’elle n’était pas assez couverte pour être dehors en plein orage.

Pourtant elle ne trouvait pas la force de partir, car chaque éclaire qui tomber dans un bruit assourdissant lui serrait la poitrine. Elle ne serait jamais cru aussi sentimentaliste. Elle en rit, souriant à personne mise à part à l’orage et les éclaires qui éclairé le ciel. Peut être qu’elle avait l’alcool triste aujourd’hui ?

Il lui manqué, mais ce n’était pourtant pas la première fois qu’il partait en mission. Luxus aimait les longues missions, et Cana ne quitté pratiquement jamais le hall de la guilde. C’était voué à l’échec selon certain, pour d’autre cela ne serait pas forcement facile. Cana avait tenu bon pendant presque un mois. Mais il semblait qu’aujourd’hui la brune était d’humeur maussade, observant le ciel recouvert de nuage.

Peut être que la journée et son temps morne lui avait rendu l’alcool triste. Dans tout les cas elle ne pouvait qu’attendre son retours.

The rarepair week's almost over--do you have anything else planned to do with FT or Laxus? Will you be participating in other events?

Laxus Rarepair Week is technically over, but submissions will still be open for the next few weeks so that those of us who haven't had a chance to get them done (including yours truly, who's spent the past week so busy with IRL stuff that I haven't had a chance to finish the fics for the four separate Laxus ships I'm writing) can.

Even after that, this blog will continue to reblog Laxus rarepair content, so be sure to tag @lightningstud in your posts if you want to make sure that they're seen here.

Not sure if this week will be run again next year-- will probably run an interest check around June or so.

In the meantime, I've recently joined the team over at @ftguildevents, and we have LOTS of fun events planned for the next year. First up is going to be Slayers Week (an event focused on the various dragon, god, and demon slayers of Fairy Tail, including Laxus), which will be running from October 24th to October 30th, so go follow that blog for more on that.
