I think egghead will not end well for the crew
#if we look at all the fights that started this arc#law vs blackbeard#coby/marines vs hachinosu island#kid vs shanks#sabo vs imu#the overall trend is defeat/being forced to escape#i think the crew may get separated#some will go to elbaf (USOPP NATION RISE UP) some may get captured by the elders#idk i don't think luffy can beat all 5 elders rn like i though he could take 1 but all 5?#seems too much#idk maybe he can who am i to doubt luffy#but i think egggead could be like sabaody was to impel down + marineford

My take on Sir Crocodile's past, including the possibility of the CrocoParent theory
(Because I can't help thinking about it, in the midst of Kuma and Bonney's heart-wrenching flashback...)
Crocodile is one of the few Warlords we still hardly know anything about, but we're bound to know about his past at some point (same for Mihawk with whom he's currently working, as well as Moria who stole like half (?) of the Rocks Pirates' corpses), starting with the panel that launched all the theories, back in Impel Down :

Thanks to Kuma's flashback, we know Ivankov used to be a slave to the Celestial Dragons up until God's Valley. As for what happened at God's Valley, we don't know the full story yet but what we know is that...
...the Rocks Pirates were defeated and disbanded by the alliance between Garp and Roger. Some (?) of them were cloned by MADS (like Stussy for a still unknown reason) and Roger then became the next biggest threat of piracy.
Their leader's name was Xebec and other people have already explained that it possibly is related to Sebek/Sobek, an ancient Egyptian deity represented either in its form or as a human with a crocodile head. And, as we all know thanks to the Alabasta arc, Sir Crocodile is strongly associated with Sobek/Sebek too.
From there, it's not a stretch to imagine that Sir Crocodile is Rocks D. Xebec's child and was also present on God's Valley, which is how Crocodile and Ivankov possibly first "met". Ivankov witnessed Rocks' defeat as well as his child's survival...
...probably thanks to Whitebeard. Because, considering how the government tracked Ace and Luffy because of their dads, it's clear that any child of Xebec would be hunted by the government just as much and, like he did for Ace, Whitebeard probably saved and offered shelter to Xebec's kid for a while.
Whitebeard saving Croc as a child on God's Valley could be the reason why Croc seemingly hated Whitebeard so much : Whitebeard saving him instead of avenging Rocks, his captain, on God's Valley and then later probably defeated Crocodile, when Croc decided to become a pirate and went after the One Piece, could explain the animosity that we saw during Marineford.

Anyway, because of God's Valley, this could be the secret Iva knows about Croc: he's the surviving child of Rocks D. Xebec, thanks to Whitebeard.
Whitebeard choosing to save him rather than his Captain and then later defeating him could also explain why Croc has strong issues when it comes to trusting others :
Another hint that Croc is related to Rocks is Blackbeard. A popular theory/understanding in the fandom is that, while Luffy inherited Roger's Will, Blackbeard inherited Rocks' (leading to the idea that Rocks vs Garp & Roger will be paralleled with Blackbeard vs Luffy & Koby). This is especially interesting, considering that Blackbeard replaced Croc as a Warlord after he was defeated and sent to Impel Down, which is when they met :
Crocodile also has a lot of "mannerisms" hinting he's a D. He's strongly interested in the Void Century, poneglyphs and the ancient weapons.
Additionally, upon learning during Marineford about Ace's and Luffy's being hunted by the Government because of their fathers, he intervened to protect them...

These acts, outside of the CrocoParent theory (see below), can be explained by Croc's own experience of being hunted because of who his father was, but also by what Ivankov said to Law, who's also a D :
To conclude, I'm a strong advocate that Sir Crocodile is actually Rocks D. Crocodile and he obviously couldn't keep his father's name, in order to avoid being hunted during his entire life by the Government.
But what about the CrocoParent theory?

Well, as much as I'm an immense and dedicated fan of this theory (full explanation here), a part of me doesn't trust Oda to be brave enough to go down that road, even if I'm also eagerly waiting for him to. :D
Whether Croc was afab or amab though, the theory that he's Rocks' kid still applies. The only difference is that, if Croc was afab, then on top of knowing about who his father was, Iva also helped Croc with transitioning, thanks to their devil fruit.
Of course, it's probably through meeting Iva that Croc then came to meet some members of the Revolutionary Army, like Dragon. He gave birth to Luffy, transitioned afterwards with Iva's help and his actions at Marineford (protecting both Ace and Luffy) are not only because he used to be hunted as Rocks' kid, but also because he just learnt that Luffy is Dragon's son and thus his own child. :))
After all, to quote Dragon in the latest chapter of Kuma's flashback...
... "a child is their parents' weak spot" seems to ring to the same bell as Croc's "if you want to protect something, do it right" (like giving up on raising Luffy and leaving him in a remote village of East Blue, to avoid him being hunted by the World Government).
Anyway, long post, sorry about it! I hope we'll know soon about Croc's past. Let me know if I missed some hints ! :D

The Rocky Port incident... (2)
was trending in Japan last night, so here's a post magazine release follow-up.
I was looking forward to hearing japanese readers' thoughts, but the source text itself is pretty vague which didn't help them either.
At least now the JP version is available, so I tried my hand on translating it as literally as possible.
Here's a simplified summary from Japanese user @manganouA (x) :
Just a clarification that "Hachinosu" and "Pirate Island", "Wang Zhi" and "Ochoku" are used interchangeably.
A common interpretational agreement is that Law definitely got onboard the wrong ship, and very likely the ship wasn't even going to Hachinosu. Artur's translation was incorrect, Law didn't board the smuggling ship. Pew's team updated their translation with Artur's version, even though their initial interpretation was right.
Law gained information that a smuggling ship heading to Hachinosu used a specific Kingdom's flag as their cover, and mistakenly hopped onboard a REAL ship belonging to that Kingdom- full of passengers and the King himself. The level of catastrophic clumsiness you'd expect from Luffy...
Man scratch that. it was clumsy even for Luffy's standard 😔
Another point to note, the term used to describe Law-Koby-BB combo was "共闘する形", so a combative pact is more appropriate than an alliance (同盟) - which was used for Law's pact with Luffy, and later Kidd (vs Big Mom). Nothing unexpected though.
My entire timeline is people cracking jokes about Law's blunder so I'm cherry picking a few of them.

Law: Crap, I blew it up... This is the wrong ship isn't it? (Cora ghost: Gee, Law... you're also the clumsy type aren't you?)
Zen (@GOKUJOUNOMAGURO) (x). (x)
Blackbeard arrives on luxurious Saber of Xebec, Koby arrives on a naval ship, and Trafalgar Law is somehow on a passenger's ship.
No matter how big of a mistake I make in future, I might be able to console myself thinking, "well, even Law kun got on a wrong ship."

Koby: Misunderstanding? What do you mean? No matter how you look at it, it's an act of terrorism against a Kingdom!
Law: How annoying... I'm in a state of confusion myself! I've no time to deal with the marines.
I got onboard a wrong ship!!!
Koby (after having Alvida flashback): I see. What a disaster, my heart goes out to you. Let's call it a temporary truce and defeat Ochoku first.
Law: You're convinced?!
.
My favorite has to be this low - effort comic summarizing their understanding:

"Rocky Port spinoff" was another buzzing keyword last night, I hope Shueisha is taking notes.
#@y'all who HC law on crack pre timeskip - maybe you were onto something#he gave up on crack after this incident#btw what does oda mean law “hijacked the ship” and also “hid himself” - because you either lurk or you hijack?#I wasn't sure if it was just me but I've seen japanese twt wondering the same#also#maybe it's just my timeline but I haven't seen any discussion about law's quest for poneglyph#priorities...#one piece#trafalgar law#trafalgar d. water law#one piece koby#monkey d. luffy#one piece translations#stray translations#mine#donquixote rosinante#one piece Bepo#heart pirates#one piece meta

The One Piece World Timezones [Fixed]
Okay, so I did a big WHOOPS. I thought the Grand Line is the equator. Someone in the notes pointed out that no, the Grand Line is not the equator and honestly, yeah, my fault for not going a bit deeper into my research.
Here is how the globe is and how the Grand Line goes. The blue thingy is I suspect the actual equator.
The reasons I thought the Grand Line is on the equator is:
1) weather
2) natural occurences
3) map on the One Piece Wiki
Crazy shit happens in the equator in our world.
Here is how the Grand Line is positioned as told by Law.

(source)
Now, let's fix the mistake. (Sighs)
And... ROTATE THE MAP.
Here it is. I sighed many sighs while rotating this and maybe I cried a bit at getting everything 3 hours wrong and then cried some more that Dressrosa & Hawaii aren't in the same timezone bcs goddamn it, that fit, as did Mariejois.
But FINE. I'm doing this for all the Doffy x Reader writers, all the One Piece x Reader writers, all the One Piece fanfic writers, full stop. I REFUSE TO ALLOW MY MISTAKE TO BE A CURSE. I'll also edit the OG post and put this pic there so both posts have the correct one.
Okay, one more time, 100% correct this time:
Paradise:
Reverse Mountain [UTC -1]
Cape Valley [UTC 0]
Cactus Island [UTC 0]
Little Garden [UTC +1]
Drum Island [UTC +2]
Alabasta [UTC +3]
Island where Luffy Kicked Bellamy's Ass Vol 1 Jaya [UTC+4]
Skypiea [UTC +4]
The Arc I Skipped After Seeing It Became Filler Ring Long Island [UTC +5]
Water 7 [UTC +5]
I'm so sorry, Snail 😭
Ennies Lobby [UTC +6]
Florian Triangle [UTC +6]
Sabaody Archipelago [UTC +7]
Amazon Lily [UTC +7]
Impel Down [UTC +8]
Marineford [UTC +8]
Holy Land of Mariejois [UTC+8]
All the thematic representation of it being UTC +12, splash into the water 😭😭😭
Fishman Island [UTC +9]
New World:
New Marineford [UTC -8]
Punk Hazard [UTC -8]
Dressrosa [UTC -7]
Totto Land [UTC -5]
Wano [UTC -4]
Law vs Blackbeard Island [UTC -3]
Elbaf [UTC -3]
Weird that it's Elbaf that's Northeast, since shouldn't Law have gone there as his route? Maybe Kid lied and went there still after Law said Northeast is the quickest path, while Law took a detour onto Winner Island to fight Blackbeard.
Hachinosu (Pirate Island, Blackbeard's HQ) [UTC -3]
Egghead [UTC -3]
Even though Egghead's not shown on the map, Luffy went directly south from Wano, and by the line, the Sunny would have entered the UTC -3 zone.
Lodestar Island [UTC -2]
Calculating Guide:
From East to West
- if it's 17:00 (5 pm) in Marineford (UTC +8) and you want to know what time it is in Dressrosa, this is what you do:
1) (Current time in Marineford) - (UTC time number of Marineford) which is
17 (5pm) - 8 = 9 am (UTC 0)
2) now that you have UTC 0, you put another minus, this one from Dressrosa's UTC, which is UTC -7, so it goes
9 am - 7 = 2 am
So it's 2 am in Dressrosa, while it's 5 pm in Marineford!
From West to East
Say it's 22:00 (10 pm) on Saturday in Dressrosa, what time is it in Holy Land? Here are the steps.
1) (Dressrosa current time) + (Dressrosa's Timezone Number) = time at UTC 0
So that's:
10 pm + 7 = 5 am Sunday (UTC 0)
2) UTC 0 time + Holy Land Time Number
So: 5 am + 8 = 13:00 (1 pm) Sunday
So while it's 10 pm Saturday in Dressrosa and Doflamingo is conducting business with the Paradise part of the Grand Line, in the Holy Land, the ugly Celestials are eating lunch on Sunday or napping bcs they are freeloading cu- (censored) unlike Doflamingo who's actually working!
(looks at the maps of my previous timezone post) Okay. It's fine. I only missed Dressrosa by 3 hours. IT'S FINE.
(it's not fine, I'm crying, it's not FINE, my favourite island and I couldn't even get it right the first time, if Doffy turns me into a toy I deserve it)
I'll go climb the Red Line and jump off it. This is the greatest shame as a scientist. Wrong numbers.
A/N: Of course, if what the pic above said is true, it might as well could be that the original tinezone map I made is semi- correct and the entire territory up until Wano has a timezone from UTC -12 to UTC -9 if it's only the first third of the New World, as those are the "thirds" of the west timezones. I don't read the manga, but I'm caught up with the anime and if the manga does reveal a map, actual map like that curved one in the picture with Law or Oda finally makes one, I give the manga readers full permission to send it to me in an ask and I will update the posts again. For now, this is the most "official" map we have, and the most recent one. Also, the Grand Line being in the shape of a rollercoaster is fitting, haha.

Do you think its more valuable for translations to be direct, or for them to change the exact wording to get the same effect across? Like beehive island vs fullalead island.
it's truly one of those things where there is never one correct answer, because whatever word you choose will never have all the same meanings and connotations and uses as the original word. you're trying to approximate as best you can.
for example, both meanings of hachinosu (the literal 'nest of wasps' and the metaphorical 'full of bullet holes') have been referenced in spoken dialogue. blackbeard says to make whitebeard hachinosu ('full of bullet holes') at marineford; later, garp says sasuga, hachinosu ('naturally, for a wasps' nest!') regarding the seemingly endless stream of enemies on hachinosu. and there's no way to really reconcile those two meanings in a single english translation of the word.
however, on the whole, i do think it's probably better to try to convey the original sense and meaning of the line as best one can, rather than the literal words. this is the same reason i tend to favor 'traffy' as the translation of luffy's nickname for law over the more literal 'tra-guy' or whatever, because it feels much more natural for how an english speaker would actually nickname someone.

Law vs Blackbeard reaction 4 of 4
Like I said in the first of these posts, I already knew that Law would get defeated in this fight and that the Polar Tang would get destroyed. Some things are just impossible to avoid seeing. I'm glad I was prepared so I wouldn't have to take that emotional hit. Turns out there were even bigger emotions waiting.
So Law is on the ground bleeding, clearly having been through a long difficult fight, not having any more to give. I was very satisfied to see that Blackbeard seemed to be worn out and in pain too and that Law didn't go out easy. But we learn that his ship has been sunk and his crew is scattered, dying or already dead.
But Bepo is nearby.
And of course I start to cry immediately. I can't take Bepo laying well out of reach, desperate to save his captain but barely being able to move. All while a pack of genuinely horrifying men are about to kill Law and take his powers.
And then there's a flashback of Chopper giving Bepo a mysterious bag of medicine and my heart rate picks up so fast. I felt robbed of Sulong-Bepo in Wano when all the other minks got to transform but this, this was certainly the time to save that moment for.
I get shivers just looking at this screenshot. I can't properly explain how intensely I silent-screamed my way through this entire scene.
FERAL BEPO!!!!!!!
KICKING BLACKBEARD'S UGLY ASS!!!!
Until he's all out of feral T__T
But he's not out of regular Bepo love and ohmygoddddd he's such a hero >__< So he manages to grab his captain and his sword and escapes out into the ocean with Law on his back.
Law who tells him to go back again, because of the crew.
Because Law can't leave his friends behind.
And this is where I start clawing at my own face because of course he can't! He loves his friends! He cares about them so so much he'd die for each and every one of them, even the ones he doesn't know very well, and it's been kinda obvious since way back, even though the very word friend seems to offend him. Except now he's using it so easy and I'm chewing on electrical chords.
Law says to go back for the crew, but Bepo says: "No I won't! Trust them, Captain! From the extremely cold port of the north till now… we've always survived! So… none of us will die here! We've overcome so much together! So, Captain! Don't die!"
And then they get swept under the surface
And I'm crying my fucking eyes out because BEPO and because the North Blue and the significance of the day and the place where they met and all the things they've been through since then, and their ship and BEPO!
And all that hit me a lot harder than I thought it would, considering I knew what would happen. I didn't know about the Bepo rescue and the whole fiercely protective polar bear friend hit me right in the childhood.
So I went to get Vitis, my own protective polar bear:
Since I've brought him up several times I felt I should introduce him properly. I also really needed a polar bear hug after that episode <3
Now I will calm down, have some tea, process all of this and eventually write some kind of wrap-up post about my overall One Piece experience. It has been intense.
#long post#so many pictures#so many feels#trafalgar law live reaction#op bepo#one piece#one piece spoilers#also Vitis reveal#Vitis means white ice if you want it to sound cool#but it's really just the swedish equivalent of something like “Whitey”#the amount of times I imagined he could grow huge to protect me against dangers as a kid though#loved to see my childhood fantasy play out with characters I love ^_^ now I hope there aren't any sharks

Hi there! I’m the anon that asked for yan!kizaru, and you more than delivered with it!! Your yan!one piece blog is a breath of fresh air, bc from i’ve noticed there aren’t many, if not any such blogs now. The amount of details you include in your posts is just *mwah* *chef’s kiss*. I really love that banana man 😔. Reminds me to some extent of the man with the yellow hat from curious george 😭💀. Anyways, thanks again for it, it was a really great post!
So I’m back for more, if you don’t mind, while you’re at it do you think you could do a romantic yan!kuzan (feel free to decide whether it’s during or after the marines) hcs for reader both sfw and nsfw? Also, would his yandereness be any different when he’s a marine vs not?
-------------
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for the kind words! 😄 They truly mean a lot to me. I'm really glad I can bring something fresh to the fandom. I've noticed the recent lack of posts like this too, so it's nice to hear it's appreciated!
Of course I don’t mind you coming back for more. Feel free to bombard me with the admirals anytime. 😉🤣
This post will focus on the pre-timeskip era, and I believe his yandere tendencies would be quite different during that period. It really depends on when, where, and how he meets his obsession. For instance, if that meeting had happened during his time as an admiral; or shortly after, he might not have even ended up joining Blackbeard’s crew at all.
If you're curious about how I’d interpret him in such moments, feel free to request that too! Or when he's in said crew, of course.

Warning!: NSFW Below!
Kuzan Aokiji

SFW
* Kuzan first met you during a seemingly routine Marine check on a lawless island you were exploring. Despite the tension and professional setting, he made a shockingly bold suggestion near the end of the conversation, eyes half-lidded and voice low: "You know... You're just the kind of woman I'd freeze the whole sea for just to keep under me." The sheer audacity of it, delivered so lazily it almost felt like a dream, stunned the other marines nearby. You laughed it off, unsure if it was actually a joke. But from that moment, his gaze never left you.
* Your strength, autonomy and refusal to be categorized by Marine standards captivated Kuzan. He couldn't help but keep tabs on you under the guise of surveillance. He'd say that it's because you are too dangerous to be left unchecked. But the truth was far more personal. Your unpredictability and independence sparked something obsessive in him.
* Using Marine intel as cover, he monitored your every move. Not because he was ordered to, but because he needed to know where you were at all times. Being near you became part of his routine.
* Whenever he ran into you (by chance, of course), he'd offer vague, almost cryptic warnings. Remarks about how certain islands weren't "safe" or how you should "stick to more civilized places." You found them confusing, especially since you weren’t breaking any laws. But that was the point. Kuzan wasn’t warning you for your safety or for legal reasons. He was trying to subtly manipulate your course, steering you toward more populated islands where he'd have an easier time monitoring you... Or isolating you. Beneath the lazy charm was a calculated attempt to keep you within reach. Not as a Marine, but as a man quietly staking his claim.
* One night, you found yourself cornered by a group of pirates who thought you'd be easy prey. Before you could draw your weapon, a frozen path spiraled around you, trapping them all in blocks of ice. Kuzan stepped out from the shadows with a casual question if you were ok. That was the first time you suspected he might be watching you more closely than he should.
* You weren’t breaking any laws, but Kuzan still found himself at odds with his responsibilities. He hated how often his duties pulled him away from monitoring you, from subtly inserting himself into your life, from doing what he felt was necessary to secure his place in your world. Each time a mission demanded his attention elsewhere, it infuriated him in a way he barely understood. He started resenting the very uniform he wore, not because of what it stood for, but because it distracted him from you. And when he sensed you pulling away emotionally, when you grew distant or wary, he began delaying assignments and pulling strings. Not out of laziness, but to buy himself more time. Time to handle you delicately, to avoid driving you too far. He needed just enough leniency to keep you from slipping through his fingers and he would manipulate the system however he had to.
* Kuzan never raised his voice, but his words often held a chill if he felt like you drifted too far off. Especially when you began actively resisting his advances. It was only then, when your distance became more than just emotional, that he let a hint of something darker slip: "I’d hate to see you become an enemy. Then I’d have to stop you. And I don’t want to freeze something in place that I... like." His tone was flat, almost bored. But the weight behind it was unmistakable. It wasn’t a warning for what you'd become. It was a desperate assertion of what he still wanted you to be. His.
* Whenever you spoke with another man; even a local guide, Kuzan would show up shortly after, coincidentally patrolling the area. He never acted outwardly jealous, but you'd notice the frost creeping over nearby surfaces and the shift in his normally placid expression.
* Once, when he was summoned back to Marineford, he said with a simple, low and terrifying calmness: "If you disappear, I'll find you. Even if I have to freeze over every ocean to do it." He wasn’t threatening you. He was promising you.
NSFW
* When you finally gave yourself to him, Kuzan’s usual lethargy melted away. His hands, cold at first, trailed over your skin with reverence and hunger. He made sure you felt every differentiation. The chill of his fingertips and the heat pooling where he touched. Every movement was slow, deliberate and even a bit worshipful.
* Kuzan takes his time. He’s patient, thorough and completely focused on you. He knows exactly what he's doing and enjoys drawing every reaction out of you, especially when you try to maintain control. It’s the only time he abandons his lazy tone. Because when it comes to you, he's anything but passive.
* During intimacy, he speaks quietly and intimately. Low murmurs against your skin about how long he waited for this, how he knew you’d come to him eventually. His voice is a blend of calm and possession, calling you "mine" more than once, as if saying it aloud makes it permanent.
* Sometimes, he uses his Devil Fruit ability to carefully cool parts of your body during sex just so he can warm them up again with his mouth. He gets off on the contrast; the control, the sensation and the way your breath catches from the shock before melting back into pleasure.
* Afterwards, he’s wrapped around you like a glacier that doesn’t let go. He’s endlessly affectionate in a way that borders on obsessive. Holding you almost too tightly, murmuring about how he won’t let you out of his sight again. He watches your face, your breathing, your pulse… Everything. As if memorizing the moment in case it ever slips away.
* He still carries that slouched, sleepy air in public. But behind closed doors, he becomes intense, insatiable and deeply focused. You’re the only one who gets to see this version of him. The one who gives and takes without restraint, as though proving every time why you were right to choose him.
* Kuzan never threatens you after you’ve accepted him, no matter the circumstance. But there’s always that edge in the way he holds you, kisses you, touches you like he’s reminding you there’s no going back. He loves you far too much to ever let you go. And now that you’re his? You never will.
