Hiya Neptune! l'm so glad your asks are open.
I'd like to ask, do you have other F/O's aside from Hans and Honest John? Because they're the only two I actively see most of the time on your blog.

Volo of the Ginkgo Guild
(Part 3 of The Outsider, Chapter 4/4, 3442 words)
Tumblr media
Volo sat, somewhat awkwardly, as the professor took his place across the table. “You look exhausted,” he observed. “I’m fine,” Volo automatically replied. The professor narrowed his eyes, then stood again. A few moments of silence later, he returned with two cups of black tea. “Here,” he said, sliding a cup across the table. “I’m fine,” Volo repeated, keeping his hands in his lap. “Very well,” said the professor, apparently unbothered by the rejection. “Now, would you care to explain your reappearance in Galaxy Hall?” Volo sighed. This was it—he would have to grovel, beg, demean himself to appease these cruel and foolish people, all so he could do what he’d always done in their service. “First,” Volo said carefully, “I would like to apologize for my conduct during my interview. I was… nervous.” The professor nodded. “Entirely understandable, my boy.” Volo narrowed his eyes. To use the outsider’s more modern vernacular: Is this guy for real?
Read the full chapter on ao3 or under the cut:
Volo could not sleep, and therefore was not awakened by Giratina’s foreboding presence.
He sighed at the dark shadows creeping beneath the outsider’s front door and held up his pointer finger—One moment, please. Volo kissed the outsider on the forehead and gently removed himself from the bed, pleased that she was still very much asleep. Very quietly he stepped towards the door, before pausing to release Togekiss from her pokéball.
“Look after her,” he whispered, glancing in the outsider’s direction. He did not want her to awaken alone and assume that he had abandoned her.
Togekiss chirped quietly and spun around in the air, apparently delighted to have some time to cuddle. Volo smiled and kissed her feathery forehead as well, then made his way to the front door.
Outside the dorm, Giratina was nowhere to be seen. Naturally, it did not want to appear in the center of a sleeping—but still occupied—public square. Volo walked over to the pastures and farm, finding a place at the edge of town obscured by foliage. This, he decided, would have to suffice.
Volo removed the ghost plate from the pocket of his new trousers and awaited the distortion god’s arrival. The muted call of “bishaan” signaled Giratina’s ominous presence.
It was only a silhouette in this limited form, which was how Volo had always encountered Arceus’s rejected child. Someday he hoped to see Giratina in its full glory, but in this moment he appreciated the convenience of its hiding in the shadows.
Two blood-red eyes pierced through the darkness, staring Volo down. He crossed his arms over his chest.
“We have not spoken in some time,” Volo told Giratina, slightly annoyed by the god’s cold shoulder. “I was beginning to worry that you had abandoned me.”
I have done no such thing.
Giratina did not speak with words, but was somehow capable of delivering its messages to Volo through psychic means. This strange supernatural communication had been the thing to draw the former merchant to Giratina in the first place, two years into his Hisuian residency. After being rejected by Cogita for his conflicting interpretations of Celestican values, and continuously ignored by Arceus, Volo had been forced to seek other allies in his quest to create a better world. Giratina had shared many of his values, and had offered powerful relics and knowledge that Volo could not have otherwise acquired. It had made perfect sense to ally with Giratina then, and Volo knew that maintaining that alliance was especially important now.
It was you, human, who abandoned Me.
Volo noticed the way Giratina emphasized its own title, in the way only a god could. Would Volo do that himself?
“I have done no such thing,” Volo echoed, putting a hand on his hip. “Our plans have simply evolved. It did not seem practical to consult you directly, given my consistent company.”
Arceus’s chosen.
“She has a name.”
What, now, are your plans?
“At first I thought we could meet the Almighty Arceus without taking the plates from her,” Volo explained, “because it promised its champion an audience once she sought all pokémon. She offered to let me accompany her in exchange for my assistance, even after learning that I had caused the rift that brought her here.”
Is she fully aware of our intentions?
Volo shook his head. “No. And she cannot be.”
Giratina blinked, almost thoughtfully.
“Unfortunately,” Volo continued, “my employment with the merchant’s guild has been terminated. Therefore, we cannot complete the Pokédex as originally intended. And I am slated to be removed from the island of Hisui entirely.”
Surely with your many qualifications, you could find alternate employment in Hisui. Perhaps there is a position that would allow you to accomplish your goal more expediently than before.
Volo scowled at Giratina. It was one thing for the outsider or the Commander or even Togekiss to point out the obvious, but an actual eldritch god?!
“I do not want to work for the Galaxy Team,” Volo repeated for what felt like the millionth time. “My companion and I will retreat to the wilds tomorrow, and once we have sought all pokémon we will summon and confront the Almighty Creator.” Volo paused, carefully selecting his next words. “But in order to survive in the wilds without assistance from the people of Hisui, we will need your help.”
My help?
“You are a god,” Volo reminded Giratina. “Protect us when necessary, and I promise that we will make it worth your while.”
We? I do not see Arceus’s chosen here. You speak so confidently on her behalf, yet you are unwilling to tell her the truth.
Volo narrowed his eyes. “What, exactly, are you implying?”
In some part of his brain, he knew that he ought to refer to the actual god with far more deference. But it had been a long day, and Volo was tired of showing deference where it was undue. He had a great deal of respect for Giratina’s power, of course, but ultimately knew that the distortion god was a means to his own ends. They were not a partnership, as Volo and the outsider were. He was an employee, and Giratina was his divine supervisor.
This was a sour revelation, indeed. Volo tried to focus on the matter at hand.
“I do not want her to hate me,” Volo heard himself say. Pathetically.
Her cooperation is not required beyond allowing you entrance to Arceus’ domain, whether by surrendering the plates or seeking all pokémon by your side. But once you have succeeded and ascended to godhood, you will possess the power to influence her thoughts and actions as you please.
“No.” Volo’s chest tightened at the notion. Of course he had considered this, in moments both shameful and relieving, but—just, no.
You do not seem to know what you are doing.
Volo glared at the Distortion God.
If you wish to return to our original agreement, then you will return to Mount Coronet immediately and use the eighteen plates. I will protect you during your travels, just as I have in the past.
“But what about—”
I will protect her as well. But I expect you to use force to acquire the plates, if necessary.
“It’ll definitely be necessary,” Volo muttered, “if you’re forcing me to do this as soon as possible.”
Are you not satisfied by My conditions? I am trying to make this simple.
Volo pulled at his own hair, pacing back and forth “It’s not—I just think that if you force me to betray her now, she is certainly going to resist, but if I just had more time...”
He had only considered the notion once before, atop Mount Coronet in an uncharacteristically impulsive moment. Inspired by the outsider’s bravery in admitting her own truths, Volo had plainly asked her to help him dethrone God. There had been no nuance, no explanation, and everything after that initial interaction had essentially just been damage control.
Withdrawing from the full truth had been the correct choice at the time. It would have been too much at once, to explain his role in the outsider’s presence in Hisui and his intention to recreate it entirely. But after what he had witnessed today, the outsider’s spite towards the people of Jubilife Village and surprising devotion to Volo himself, he couldn’t help but wonder…
“Suppose I had more time,” Volo told Giratina. “And in that time, I was able to convince her to cooperate with our plans.”
Was that not always your intention, when you decided to sabotage your own plans on Mount Coronet?
Volo looked pointedly at the ground. “I…”
I will grant you protection in the wild under My stated conditions, if that is what you desire. But do be aware, human, that there is another option.
Volo met Giratina’s eyes again, bewildered.
“Do you… want me to convince her?”
You are referring to the blessed champion of the Almighty Creator, who rejected and damned Me to the world of distortion. Is it so unfathomable that I would take pleasure in her corruption?
Something about the choice of words tugged at Volo. It would not be corruption, for the outsider to ultimately choose his—their—new and better world. It would mean peace and belonging for them both, entitlements they hadn’t been offered in this one.
But if Giratina’s investment in such an outcome afforded Volo time, and therefore an actual chance…
“If I choose the less simple course of action,” Volo said slowly, “am I to understand that you will not intervene?”
There would be no reason to intervene. We are both invested in the same outcome.
And as much as it troubled Volo to admit it, he knew that they were.
“Fine,” he decided, clasping his hands behind his back. “I will join the Survey Corps and seek Arceus through the completion of the Pokédex.”
Giratina eyed him expectantly. Volo sighed.
“And during the time it takes to reach those ends, I will persuade Arceus’s chosen… to choose otherwise.”
Very well. You seem to know what you are doing.
“Not really,” Volo admitted, inappropriately casual in his delivery. “I still need to figure out how to ingratiate myself to the Galaxy Team after that terrible interview.”
That is your job, not mine.
“Right.”
And what a fool Volo had been, to think that he would ever work truly unsupervised.
─────────────────
Volo had half-expected Galaxy Hall to be empty at this time of night, but at least one member of the Survey Corps remained hard at work.
“Professor,” Volo greeted, leaning against the doorframe of the lab. He crossed his arms over his chest, unwilling and unable to summon his friendly mercantile persona.
The professor looked up from the scattered papers on a table, surrounded by evidence of his studies. The middle-aged man smiled sadly when he recognized his company. “Ah, Volo.”
Volo did not enter the room. He didn’t know what he wanted—an invitation, or an apology, or something else entirely. So he stayed in place instead, avoiding the other man’s curious gaze.
“To what do I owe the pleasure?” the professor asked, causing Volo to scoff. Pleasure.
The professor sighed, pulling out a chair from his table. “Sit down. Please.”
The invitation sufficed. Volo stepped fully into the lab, scanning over the strange equipment and writings. Notes about pokémon, the ecology of Hisui, battle strategies… all things Volo admittedly studied himself.
“Now, would you care to explain your reappearance in Galaxy Hall?”
Volo sighed. This was it—he would have to grovel, beg, demean himself to appease these cruel and foolish people, all so he could do what he’d always done in their service.
“First,” Volo said carefully, “I would like to apologize for my conduct during my interview. I was… nervous.”
The professor nodded. “Entirely understandable, my boy.”
Volo narrowed his eyes. To use the outsider’s more modern vernacular: Is this guy for real?
“Furthermore,” he continued, “I apologize on behalf of our mutual acquaintance, and humbly request that the Galaxy Team reconsider her expulsion.”
The professor had the gall to look confused. “Expulsion?”
“She said it herself,” Volo reminded him, trying and failing to conceal his own annoyance. “If I leave Hisui, then so will she. The decision regarding my status seems to have been made. Therefore, so has hers.”
The professor studied Volo, allowing some intelligence to show through his easygoing demeanor. “Yet here you are now.”
Volo nodded. “I do not want to deny her purpose or community. And so, per her ultimatum, I hope to stay as well.”
It had been one thing to decide in his head—speaking his decision aloud was another matter entirely. Volo had expected to feel far more humiliated by the admission, but instead he mostly felt relieved. Why that was, he did not currently have the energy or focus to consider. Not when he had a job to do.
The professor sighed, but not from exasperation. “I must also apologize,” he said, “on behalf of Commander Kamado. I do wish he had spoken with more consideration towards our mutual friend, especially after her unfortunate banishment.”
“Unfortunate,” Volo repeated.
“Cruel,” the professor corrected himself. “And undue. Thank you, Volo, for supporting her when we could not.”
Volo blinked.
“You appear surprised,” the professor chuckled, shaking his head slightly. “I do not blame you. I am ashamed to this day of my failure to advocate for her beyond my means. I would like to say that, in time, I would have been able to sway Commander Kamado’s favor… but we have both witnessed how stubborn he can be.”
Volo would not beg.
“I will not make the same mistake twice,” the professor said, glancing upwards. “Regardless of employment status, I will not allow the Commander to banish you from this island.” He stirred his tea with a smile verging on mischievous. “If I may take a page from our friend’s book… I don’t suppose that there are many other professors willing to uproot their lives and work in this dangerous new settlement. If my position were to be emptied, I think the Commander would find it rather challenging to find a proper replacement.”
Volo took a moment to process the professor’s response. “Regardless of employment status?”
“I have no interest in forcing you to work for the Survey Corps,” he said with a knowing expression. “In my experience, it is torturous to commit oneself to a purpose that does not align with one’s desires. And I am not in the business of torture.”
This was a far better result than Volo had expected—he could stay in Hisui and help the outsider complete the Pokédex, without having to join the Galaxy Team at all! He took a sip of tea, allowing the corner of his mouth to curl upwards.
“Thank you, Professor,” he said, and meant it. Clearly this man was ridden with guilt for his failure to protect the outsider, and saw his redemption in Volo. That was fine—they were both using each other as means to their own ends. As it so often went.
“I do believe you would fare well here, though,” the professor continued. Which made no sense, because he’d already gotten what he wanted—Volo’s amnesty ensured that the most skilled member of the Survey Corps would stay. What did he have to gain, from insisting that Volo join as well?
“I followed a strange path to this profession myself, you know. I hail from the region of Galar—have you heard of it?”
Dumbfounded by the unnecessary disclosure, Volo nodded.
The professor smiled. “A charming place for a boy to grow up,” he said. “Much like the mainland here. But eventually I found myself growing restless, and ever so curious about the world beyond my home. Years ago, I decided to study pokémon elsewhere—a newly-discovered land, previously home to a disappeared indigenous people known for their closeness to the divine. Does that not intrigue you?”
They both knew the answer to that question.
“I may find myself occasionally frustrated by individuals within the Galaxy Team, said the professor, “and there are certainly differences of opinion. But I know that we, within the Survey Corps, all share a common desire.”
“Order?” Volo asked, thinking of Kamado’s previous statement.
The professor shook his head. “Knowledge.”
He was not hiding his intelligence in the slightest, now. He regarded Volo as if he understood him better than Volo understood himself.
Volo… could see why the outsider found such comfort in his presence.
Among other qualities she saw in the Galaxy Team Survey Corps.
“Would—” Volo cleared his throat. “Would you possibly consider—”
“The job is yours if you desire it, my boy.”
Volo did not have to do this. Not for the outsider, not for Giratina, not for the professor or Commander. Not even for his eventual apotheosis, after which nothing would matter at all.
“I wield a level 68 Togekiss,” Volo said bluntly, placing the pokéball on the table. “Would that allow me free rein of the region?”
The professor smiled. “I believe that can be arranged.”
“And I would earn a salary?”
“In both currency and potato mochi, yes.”
“And I could work with—”
“I would not dream of separating the two of you,” the professor reassured Volo. “From what I can see, you make quite the powerful team.”
Volo preened at that. “Yes, we most certainly do.”
The professor seemed to have more sentiments to offer, but Volo found himself overwhelmed by the urge to return to the outsider. “Thank you,” he repeated, standing and shaking the other man’s hand. “Professor Laventon.”
“You are very welcome, Volo. Please do return tomorrow morning, and we will settle details with Captain Cyllene.”
Volo nodded, took a final sip of tea, and left to deliver the good news.
─────────────────
She was awake when he returned.
“Volo,” the outsider said, sitting up in bed where Togekiss had laid herself over her lap. Her expression was unusually difficult to read. “I thought you’d left, but then…” She glanced down towards Togekiss, who chirped contentedly.
Volo sat down beside her. “I’m still here,” he said, taking her hand in his own. “How are you feeling?”
“Like an idiot,” she groaned, putting her head in her other hand. “I fucked up.”
Volo nodded, unsurprised. “What was that you said, about burning bridges?”
“I don’t want to leave the village,” the outsider admitted, avoiding his gaze. If she simply looked at him, she would realize that he was amused rather than concerned. “My work with the Corps, my pokémon… Volo, it would break my heart.” She closed her eyes as a tear rolled down her cheek. “But I’ve already ruined it for myself. And they’re going to make you leave.”
Something tugged at Volo as he heard himself ask, “And would you still come? With me?”
She opened her eyes, then narrowed them. “‘Would?’ I think you mean ‘will.’”
Answer the question, Volo wanted to insist, so I know that I’m doing the right thing.
He shook his head instead. “I mean ‘would.’ I spoke with Professor Laventon this evening, and he has granted me amnesty. You will not need to choose.” Yet.
The outsider’s eyes widened again, but this time her reaction was clear as day. She threw her arms around him, disrupting Togekiss in the process, and clung tight as she held him close.
“How’d you do it?” she asked, her voice slightly muffled but unmistakably pleased.
Volo smiled almost conspiratorially at Togekiss, who regarded them both with mild confusion. “I considered my options.”
“Vague, but okay.” She pulled back, looking into his eyes. “And the Corps…?”
“Your employment is entirely secure. The professor apologizes on the Commander’s behalf.”
She rolled her eyes. “Best I’m gonna get from Kamado, probably. I’m glad he’s not directly a part of the Corps.”
“So am I,” Volo agreed, “seeing as I’m to be a member myself.”
The outsider inhaled sharply. “You—”
“Not just because you wanted me to,” Volo interrupted, and it was technically not untrue. He had several reasons for taking the job—some of which he understood, some of which he did not. None of which he could explain at this moment in time, because he very much still had an agenda of his own.
“We’re going to have so much fun together,” the outsider said, beaming. “Way more fun than you had in the Ginkgo Guild.”
Volo rolled his eyes with a smile of his own. “Yes, well, I would expect so. I am selling out to do something I love, after all.”
The outsider kissed him on the lips. “You won’t regret it. Probably.”
“Good enough for me,” Volo responded, and for now it was. He would explore this cruel world alongside its few worthy inhabitants, taking stock of every reason it could not ultimately be redeemed.
And then he would present his case. And she would understand. And they would create a new and better world from the ashes of this one, predicated on the values and desires they shared.
But for now, this was right.
One must cross a bridge before letting it burn.

and yes, the sun will set. and then rise again OCxCanon week 2024 Day 3: out in nature Pairing type: familial Canon Character: Professor Laventon OC: Maitiu (trainersona) Fandom: pokemon Wordcount: 1401
AO3 link
CWS: none
Synopsis: Laventon visits the Obsidian Fieldlands in search of both fresh air and the boy he considers to be something like a son.
Kunal Laventon stretched his arms out as wide as they could go, feeling a satisfying pull in his shoulders as he breathed in the fresh air and looked out across the Fieldlands from the top of Aspiration Hill.
It was really a lovely day. And it had been far too long since he’d left the village; he’d been spending so long cooped up inside his study, tweaking drawings, and text for the pokedex, so it was nice to get out for a change.
He’d meant to be out here with both his kids, but Akari had been called away to help Mai of the Diamond Clan with something or other, and Maitiu had gone on ahead.
Judging by how the boy’s luxray, Clementine, was sitting just a few meters down the hill, boredly cleaning her front paw, he likely wasn’t too far away. Clementine was very protective, after all.
Laventon hurried down the hill to meet the feline, who purred upon seeing him, and rubbed her massive face into his torso in greeting. He was still a bit nervous at such a huge- and sharp-toothed- pokemon being so close, but Clementine was so friendly and sweet he didn’t mind too much.
“Is he around, then?” Laventon asked the cat, and a little chirrup was the given answer, “I trust that’s a yes.”
With a swoosh of her ropelike tail, Clementine turned and bounded down the hill, stopping every few paces to give Laventon a chance to catch up. She led him around the right of the hill, baring her teeth at any wild pokemon that even considered attacking as she guided Laventon through the fields.
There, after a rather winding path, Maitiu was sitting at the edge of a field of gracidea flowers, dangling a bit of string just out of reach of his sylveon, Sunny. Since she was so small, Maitiu didn’t have to hold the string too high for her to be leaping up at it energetically, clearly having a blast.
Clementine meowed to alert Maitiu of her- and Laventon’s- arrival, and the boy turned, giving Sunny the opportunity to snatch the string from his hands and shake it around in her jaws like it was a bit of prey.
“Hiya, Clemmy.” He said, reaching his hand up to pet her as she came closer, and then looked up, “Alright, Professor. Nice to see you outside.”
“It’s nice to be outside,” Laventon smiled, and carefully lowered himself to sit on the ground too; he’d pay for that with a sore back later, but his posture was so bad that his back was constantly aching, so what did it matter? “How are you faring, my boy?”
Maitiu hummed noncommittally, and, with some effort, managed to steal the string back from Sunny. She meowed loudly in indignation until he dangled it in front of her again.
“Alright...” He said eventually, “It’s nice ‘n quiet out here.”
“That it is,” Laventon agreed, appreciating the way the sunlight warmed his face through the trees, “I do feel like I’ve not seen you in a long while, though. When did you last return home?”
“Um…” Maitiu paused for a moment, moving his mouth slightly as he counted in a whisper, “…I don’t remember.”
Laventon sighed.
His boy had been more and more reclusive recently, spending practically all of his time out in the wilds, researching or just… avoiding the village. Laventon understood why, but it still was saddening.
He knew Maitiu had forgiven all the folks who’d used him as a scapegoat, knew the boy understood what had been going on- and was somehow far more accepting of his own fate than Laventon ever had been- but it was clear the experience had left him fearful and unsure of his position in the village.
The exile had lasted nearly three months- the seasons had shifted by the time the world had been returned to normal- and it seemed those three months, though they were over a year ago now, had let the wilderness claim Maitiu for its own.
As long as the boy was happy, Laventon couldn’t exactly complain. But he so clearly wasn’t. And on top of that, Laventon missed the boy he considered something of his son. And he knew Akari missed her surrogate brother. They were a ragtag little family of outsiders, and while they were accepted in the village, nobody really understood the isolation of being an Other like they did. They had to stick together.
“Why don’t you stop by tonight?” Laventon offered, trying to hide the hopefulness in his voice, “I think Adaman’s in town this evening, helping out at the Wallflower. We could ask him to sort us some supper, and Akari can tell us all about what she’s been up to today.”
“Maybe…” The boy pulled his knees up to his chest, and picked up Sunny, who happily squeezed her way inside his jacket, purring like a steam engine, “I haven’t seen Akari in a bit.”
“She misses you,” Laventon said, and held his tongue on the unspoken, but very much heard, As do I.
Guilt washed over Laventon as he watched Maitiu bury his face in his hands for a minute.
“I’m sorry,” the boy said, “I miss you both, too. Very much. It’s just…”
He sighed. Clearly struggling to find the words. Sunny reached one of her ribbon-feelers up and pressed it against his face. He leaned down and pressed a little kiss to her forehead.
“I don’t know.” He said quietly, “I do want to come. I’m just… nervous, I guess. I know I’m just imagining it, but I still feel like people are looking at me weirdly.”
His whole posture seemed to sink in defeat.
Laventon tentatively reached his arm out, and when the boy didn’t move away, he pulled him into a one-armed hug.
“We could picnic, instead? Maybe out here, or on Prelude beach? Would that be easier for you?”
“The beach?” Maitiu perked up then, immediately looking a little bit less like a kicked yamper, “That sounds nice.”
“We could even camp out there, if you’d like. Sleeping under the stars, talking over a campfire… listening to the waves…”
“Is that a good idea?” Maitiu looked sceptical,  but there was a mischievous glint in his eyes- so rarely seen anymore- “Sleeping on the ground, in the cold… I mean, with your back…”
Laventon gasped dramatically, “How rude!”
He made sure he was smiling as he exaggeratedly turned his head up and away from Maitiu, who he could hear giggling, “How old do you take me for, hm?”
“I know, sorry, sorry,” the boy grinned, wicked as a banette, and Laventon found himself not caring in the slightest, “It’s wrong for me to disrespect the elderly.”
“You troublesome little fiend,” Laventon shook his head, smiling, “Perhaps I will un-extend the invitation.”
“Nooo!” Maitiu leaned over and lay down in the grass, “Sunny, bite him!”
The little sylveon obediently leapt from Maitiu’s jacket and onto Laventon’s shoulder, where she bit at his coat a few times without any real force behind it.
“Ah, a wild beast!” he exclaimed, and carefully lowered himself into the grass, too, “Alas… I have been mortally wounded… I now shall breathe my last…”
Sunny curled up on top of his chest, purring triumphantly. Clementine watched from within the flower-field, one eye closed as she attempted to nap with little success.
It really was nice out here. It wasn’t too cold today- though Laventon kept his knitted hat on- and the breeze was gentle, the air was fresh… He could understand why his boy was so intent on staying out here, even without all the memories- both new and old- that kept him out of the village. He’d have to make time to come out and explore the wilds more often, even if it was hard on his back.
But for now, he was having a lovely, relaxing lie down by some gorgeous flowers, guarded by his boy’s diligent pokemon, with the boy himself only a couple of feet away. And with the promise of a family picnic in the evening, the certainty of spending time with both of his beloved children, laughing and talking over food and the sound of ocean waves, Laventon found himself feeling more relaxed than he had in a long while.
Yes. He really would have to visit the wilds more often.

Physical Memories
Based on @bellafragolina fic where her oc Renee is sent to Hisui.
When I read the fic I just knew!!! I needed to draw it, because I also tend to be a lil emotional over having physical photos and a tiny album about the people I love. I just hope I got everyone character correct haha
love you strabby!! u3u but also forgive my wonkiness in some part of the comic I tried my best!

I've been having fun with pla :)
[image id: a digitally drawn sketch page with numerous drawings on it, all centering around pokemon legends arceus. The main character that shows up is Day, an oc who wears an altered version of the survey corps uniform. The pokemon on their team are a rowlet, a luxray, a shellos, and an alpha rapidash. Going roughly left to right, top to bottom:
Sol points excitedly at a medicinal leek. "Golly gee, another leek!" They exclaim, none the wiser about the alpha luxio looming in the background behind them.
Akari glares at Day, visibly disgusted, while Day smiles cheerfully, completely oblivious to how much she hates them.
A wurmple facing left.
A drawing of Day's shellos, staring out at the viewer and smiling in a very silly manner. Text above her reads "never separate an e girl and her scrunchie."
Day digs in their satchel, listing out the many pokemon they found to a horrified Professor Laventon.
Day holds out a gun, very distressed and violent. It's pointed at a paras. The paras points an even bigger gun back at Day.
Another wurmple, crawling to the right.
A rowlet writing up a spreadsheet, followed by that rowlet sitting politely.
A somewhat dramatic drawing of Day holding a pokeball. They seem detached and cold, ready to fight, eyes hidden by their glasses and by shadow.
A luxray stands, front legs bent down and back legs straight up, as if playing or perhaps readying to sprint.
A four panel comic. Day asks, "what if you wanted an alpha," the comic cutting to a screenshot of an alpha rapidash, "but god said ohko." The final panel has a very crunched flattened png of a rapidash, X's over its eyes as the shellos looks back at Day as if to ask "are you proud?"
Another wurmple, staring upwards very sillily and more than a little mischievous.
The alpha rapidash stares down at Day with big, emoji eyes emphasizing how hard it's staring at them. Day is comically small before it. In the next drawing, Day is rubbing their hands together and grinning manically. "You're perfect" they laugh. The rapidash continues to stare at them.
A wurmple running in circles at high speeds. End id]

Actually you know what fuck it I think I do wanna elaborate on Sylvia/Cyllene. Extensive, dubiously coherent yapping about OC x canon under the cut so be warned
First of all, a bit of background on the context behind Sylvia's PLA AU: Sylvia gets isekai'd to Hisui while she's still halfway through her travels in Sinnoh, which is roughly a year after her challenge to the Unova Pokemon League and the whole debacle at N's castle. Which is to say, she's already a pretty experienced Trainer at this point and her experiences with Team Plasma have greatly influenced the way she approaches her relationship with Pokemon (I could write a whole other essay on this topic but basically she's extremely careful about abiding by her Pokemon's wishes and always puts all Pokemon before herself regardless of whether they're hers or not).
With that laid out, let me explain why I'm really drawn to Sylvia/Cyllene as a ship (SteadfastHeartShipping, as I've dubbed it) and why it's genuinely one of my favorite Sylvia shippings I've ever had.
On the surface, Cyllene comes across as distant, detached, and even unnecessarily harsh at points, such as when she very bluntly tells Sylvia that should she fail to pass her initial trial to enter the Survey Corps, she will be left out in the wilderness to whatever fate has in store for her—probably death, all things considered. Her demeanor is emblematic of the frigidity of Hisui itself, and I often think about how it's very likely a coping mechanism to deal with how ruthless and unforgiving a region it is, in an era predating the coexistence of humans and Pokemon. The weather is cold and often unpredictable, resources are scarce, and Pokemon are incredibly dangerous and (somewhat rightfully) considered terrifying by most people. To put it simply, death lurks around every corner in the land of Hisui—and Cyllene has likely lost so many comrades within the Galaxy Team that she's found it's easier for her to manage if she simply shuts herself off emotionally. After all, there's no point in getting attached to someone when you can lose them all too easily, which we know for a fact she has—even disregarding the possibility of losing someone to disease or injury, there's a Diamond Clan member who mentions that Clover of the Miss Fortune sisters was once a member of the Survey Corps before she became fed up with the Galaxy Team and left to live as a bandit instead. With all this in mind, her cold mannerisms are the only way she knows how to survive without disrupting the delicate emotional balance in her heart. And she cannot allow herself to bare weakness—because that poses the risk of succumbing to despair, which would further compromise her ability to protect what small amount of people she has remaining.
Enter Sylvia: a woman who, by all appearances, is entirely Cyllene's opposite—clearly visibly nervous from suddenly finding herself in an unfamiliar land and needing to adapt to its people and culture, but nonetheless bright, cheerful, and eager to make herself useful to the Galaxy Team. She's friendly and adaptable, and seems to hold nothing but love for the world around her—a love she displays wholly and openly, and extends to both people and Pokemon. On top of that, her knowledge of Pokemon rivals that of Professor Laventon and she proves herself to be incredibly adept at handling and surveying them. In all respects, she's truly a godsend to the Survey Corps, but Cyllene can't help but find it baffling that she can wear her heart on her sleeve in such a way despite her position as a stranger from the space-time rift, who could well be sent back to her own era at any time, for all she knows. Of course, what she won't admit to herself is that Sylvia's loving nature reminds her of what she's deprived herself of for so long, but nonetheless, watching her care so deeply makes her heart ache—in a way she can't ignore no matter how much she tries. Her defensiveness of how she's chosen to cope with her loss notwithstanding, it also makes her worry that someday this young woman will suffer the cruel bite of reality one day whether she's prepared for it or not, a fate all too likely in Hisui. It takes time, but she eventually realizes that Sylvia's open love is a source of strength for her, and she comes to admire her for that quality, different though it may be from her more reserved way of showing it.
What Cyllene doesn't realize until much later, however, is that Sylvia is not nearly as naive or emotionally straightforward as she originally perceived her to be.
Sylvia is all too familiar with loss and emptiness herself—she's never known her father, she had an uncle seemingly vanish from her life without a word, she was once betrayed by someone she considered her companion and friend (even if she eventually helped him see reason in the end), and now, she's completely cut off from her family, friends and Pokemon across time and space, wholly uncertain if she'll ever find a way to return to them, or even see them again. Sylvia does her best to come across as kind, approachable and dependable, and while it is motivated by a genuine desire to do good in the world, it is also a facade to cover up the fact that she feels like an outsider in Jubilife Village. That she feels alone. But she, much like Cyllene, doesn't start in a position where she feels safe to express that kind of vulnerability to others, because for all she's willing to extend a helping hand to others when they need it, she'll only ever do so from a safe distance—a distance she's gotten frighteningly good at disguising behind a friendly smile and a gentle laugh. She won't let anyone in on her grief, because in her mind they've already been burdened with having to accept her despite her status as an outsider, and because she doesn't feel like she's earned the right to be cared for in that way (which again, is a whole other conversation on its own but if I go on that tangent now I will never stop so. Another time unfortunately). As for her thoughts on Cyllene specifically, she's initially a bit intimidated by her (as well as most of Galaxy's leadership in general—she's more uptight around them due to her aforementioned anxieties about fitting in, and fears that one wrong word or action could compromise her standing with them), but she's emotionally intelligent enough to recognize that she has the best interests of the Survey Corps at heart, and her actions speak louder than her words in that regard. She admires her work ethic and commitment to studying Pokemon, and even finds herself appreciating her blunt remarks in the sense that she has high regard for her ability to be brutally honest in a way that she could never bring herself to be.
Her exile from Jubilife Village during the calamity on Mount Coronet is very tumultuous for Sylvia and Cyllene both, as the event further solidifies the former's insecurities about whether there's truly a place for her in Hisui, and the latter finds herself terrified for Sylvia's safety to a degree she hasn't felt with anyone in a long time. Her worst fears are confirmed when her Abra, having picked up on its partner’s worrying, teleports away for a moment only to bring back a critically injured Sylvia from the Temple of Sinnoh after her battle against the Pokemon from the space-time rift. Thankfully the Medical Corps is right next door to patch her up—though they’re not entirely sure whether she’ll make it at first, in the end she comes out alive mostly thanks to Abra bringing her to safety before she could lose too much blood from her injuries. Of course, she doesn’t leave the ordeal unscarred—her memory of the past few days’ events is hazy, but she remembers clearly the despair she felt from her exile and it’s at this point Cyllene finally starts to see her crack. She visits her injured subordinate at her bedside in the Medical Corps office, and Sylvia tearfully asks her why she and many others went to such lengths to help her regain her position, and why she’s even worthy of being saved when she's an outsider who fell from the very source of the calamities plaguing Hisui. In a rare moment of complete emotional sincerity, Cyllene gently takes her hand and affirms that she is no longer an outsider—that she believes in the woman who's been instrumental in bringing the people and Pokemon of Hisui closer together. The woman who she's seen do good for the Galaxy Team over and over again. The woman who helped her realize that there is strength to be found through daring to express love and compassion in the face of death and strife. And hearing those words from her captain of all people—the same woman who once told her to her face that she'd be willing to let her die out in the wilds, but now has garnered enough respect for her to the point that she would openly defy her superior's orders for her sake, and whose Pokemon is now the very reason she's even alive at all after she narrowly carried out the order that she was also entrusted with by her? To stay it stirred something deep within her soul is a massive understatement.
As for how they eventually end up a couple? To put it simply...they're very messy and I love it to pieces. Cyllene finally admits to herself she's in love with Sylvia not long after the events at the Temple of Sinnoh, but as much as her feelings are starting to reach a boiling point, getting over her fear of emotional vulnerability isn't something that's going to happen overnight. Sylvia, meanwhile, is blessed with the hilarious but also dreadful trait of being frightfully perceptive about the romantic inclinations of literally everyone except herself and whoever she's attracted to in the moment—in which case her intuition is roughly akin to that of a brick. As such, it takes quite a lot for her to even realize she's in love most of the time, and unfortunately for Cyllene, this time is no different (and honestly even if she wasn't Like That she probably wouldn't have the guts to confess to her superior anyway). Cyllene also has to contend with the fact that Sylvia is, at the end of the day, not from her era—there's always a possibility she could be sent back through the space-time rift without warning, and she has to consider whether it's worth it to pursue a relationship with someone who could very easily be taken away from her at any moment. Which ultimately makes her decision to finally act on her feelings all the more impactful, in my opinion—even if she has extremely Disaster Lesbian methods of going about it lmao. Basically she kicks everyone out of her office one night to write multiple letter drafts that almost all end up in the trash. Sylvia, having been out all day on a survey, walks in on her writing one of them and she has to quickly put it away and shoo her off, her face burning all the while. When she finally finishes something she's somewhat happy with she stares at it for a solid 30 minutes before Abra takes matters into its own hands again and snatches it from her desk before teleporting to Sylvia's quarters to give it to her. Sylvia is THOROUGHLY shocked by the contents and spends the next few hours pacing said quarters, trying to figure out why her breathing is so unsteady and her heart is beating out of her chest before she meets her captain at Prelude Beach at midnight as the letter requested (she figured it out at about 11:30 and spent most of the time before the meeting with her hands over her face covering a smile that did not fade until after she had fallen asleep that night).
Long story short, their relationship is very wholesome and sweet—Sylvia brings out a very affectionate side of Cyllene that's unexpected at first but not at all unwelcome, and Cyllene in turn helps Sylvia grow more assertive when she needs to be—which benefits her quite a lot as she eventually gets promoted to Captain of the Survey Corps herself after Cyllene takes over as the Galaxy Team's commander. As much as I think they're perfect for each other to the point that I genuinely hesitated to canonize Sylvia returning to her own era after she sought out all Pokemon as Arceus had asked of her (because it made me too sad), in recent days I've started to think it would be a very fitting ending for their respective arcs. Cyllene's development from someone who swore to herself she would no longer be done in by the burden of allowing herself to care for those she would only end up losing, to someone who found a person so special to her that she willingly chose to love her even though she was the one most at risk of being lost—and someone who vowed that she would follow her example and continue to love in the same way she did, even after she was gone? Paired together with Sylvia learning that she will always find a home for herself wherever she goes among the people and Pokemon that she holds dear, and someone seeing through the invisible walls she's put up isn't such a bad thing after all? That it serves to further deepen the bonds she's put so much care into fostering (with this likewise being a lesson she learned from the woman she loved and one she swears to maintain even after they were separated)? Heartbreaking though it may be, it's simply too good to pass up.
TLDR: the core of Sylvia and Cyllene's relationship is how it moves from "she is everything I'm not and I'm into that" to "she's actually a lot more like me than I thought and it only makes me love her more." And I'm obsessed with it.

Introduction Post
————
I’M A BAD BITCH YOU CAN’T KILL ME!
hiya! name's Blake. you might recognize me, you might not. rotomblr is confusing with all the multiverse stuff. basically, I'm an ex-champion who's kinda just doing my own thing now. saved the world a few times. met a few gods. y'know, the usual. I even died once! technically. oh, and I’m a university student at Blueberry Academy! mostly here to post about my Pokémon- but my friends Hop and Auberi have access to this blog too, so you might see them on here occasionally.
also!! I have a wonderful partner here’s his blog: @thunderblessedhero I love him sm
that's pretty much all you need to know, I think! signing out!
-Blake

Auberi Bellerose- 21, they/them, demisexual/greyromantic
Hop Laventon- 20, he/him, asexual/biromantic

OOC:
Pelipper Mail/Variants: ON (ex. Pelipper Malice, Musharna Mail, etc.)
Union Circle: ON (for short visits, it’s fine, but if it’ll be a lengthier visit to Blake’s universe I would like to discuss beforehand)
Magic Anons: ON (within reason, nothing permanent)

Warnings: mentions of past trauma will be brought up occasionally on this blog, and will be tagged accordingly. mod is also an adult, so there could potentially be suggestive content from time to time- but I’ll try to avoid anything explicit.
Boundaries: not super strict rules on who can interact! eebies, legendaries, sapient ‘mons, etc. I might be a little more iffy towards crossover blogs, I’m sorry ;w; nothing wrong with them, it’s just a personal boundary of mine. I’ll try to make a post as some point elaborating further
flirty and/or suggestive interactions from adult muses WITH adult muns are fine towards Blake and Auberi. I do not feel comfortable with anyone attempting those kinds of interactions with Hop. and while flirting is fine, I would prefer if you got in touch with me and asked for my thoughts before having your character pursue any kind of romantic relationship with them.
also, in character hate is allowed! just yknow, don’t go too overboard with it.
Info about my OC:
basically Blake is my protag in several pkmn games, specifically SW/SH, X/Y, and B/W! the timeline of those games’ stories are in that specific order in my OCverse. (Pretty much any semblance of a canon timeline in the games is destroyed in my OCverse, except for any games w/ sequels like Gen1/Gen2 or BW/BW2. I’ll probably put together a proper timeline eventually, but essentially it’s just in the order I played all the games. Rn that order is FRLG -> HGSS -> SM -> ORAS -> SWSH -> XY -> DPPT/BDSP -> BW -> PLA -> SV -> BW2)
Bio: Blake was born in Nuvema Town, where they lived until they were around seven before moving to Aspertia City. They lived there until they were about thirteen, before moving to Postwick in the Galar region with their mother. There, they met one of their best friends, Hop. At the time, Blake was super closed off and shy, as their social anxiety made making friends difficult. The only one they’ve ever really let their guard down with was Hop. Watching Leon’s matches on TV with Hop was what inspired them to become a trainer, though for many years they didn’t actually think it’d be possible for them- considering they came from a family who didn’t really like Pokemon, therefore they had nowhere near as much experience with them like Hop did. They feared their social anxiety would get in the way, too.
Once they were 16, they unexpectedly got their first Pokemon from Leon- a Sobble named Kappa. After getting endorsed by Leon and some encouragement from Hop, they agreed to sign up for the Gym Challenge. They had a rocky start- losing battles pretty frequently was putting a huge dent in their already low self-esteem, and it was impacting Kappa as well. But over time they learned the ropes of being a trainer and was quickly becoming a rising star amongst the Gym Challengers. They went on to stop the Darkest Day along with Hop, catch Eternatus, become champion, and earn the trust of Zacian.
During their reign as champion, they trained at the Isle of Armor and explored the Crown Tundra. These small adventures slowly helped them realize just how much pressure their title was putting on them- and finally caused them to slip up during the final match of the next year’s Gym Challenge.
After losing their title, they decided to look for a new path- which lead them to Kalos, where they helped in putting a stop to Team Flare’s plan and caught Yveltal, and eventually back to Unova, where they fought against Team Plasma alongside Reshiram. Following the defeat of Plasma, they’ve enrolled as a college student at Blueberry Academy- and have done quite a lot in the past two years, such as visiting the Paldea region and catching more Pokémon. Now, they’ve returned to Unova, and are resting after having helped in the fight against Kyurem.
Blake is also the main character in my comics, Adventures in Kalos (on my instagram @/xgolden_latiasx) and Unova Fates (on Tumblr, insta, and webtoon). this blog will probably contain spoilers for those comics!

More rules/info/explanations/etc.:
all three of these characters are friends with multiple legendaries, so if they seem overpowered to you… sorry? I’m just having fun over here. they don’t really use any of them for battle that often, though they might threaten to sic their legendary on someone as a joke (but they won’t actually). but as of right now the only legendary that’s actively with the group is Reshiram, he’s the only one who’ll get involved in whatever shenanigans/event the gang finds themselves in. (Unless I’m participating in an event from another person and they say they don’t want Reshiram involved.)
I’m relatively willing to join in on high stakes stuff as long as I feel up to it, but please ask me first if you want one of my characters to actively participate somehow.
also, this blog runs with the idea that Rotomblr is a weird site that links other universes together. So for example say if… Kalos is blowing up or something on another person’s blog and someone tries to get Auberi involved, I’m just going to say it’s happening in a different universe. Or if a different SWSH/XY/BW/PLA protag character tries to interact.
please please please also understand that I have realllllly bad social anxiety and awkwardness. I apologize if it takes me a while to respond to something, or if my replies seem short and uninterested (I promise I’m interested in the conversation I’m just bad at words). or long and ramble-y. please tell me to shut the fuck up if you need me to

@anaoryx commission for an OC X Canon
Thank you so much for commissioning me and I hope you enjoy this and thank you for being so patient!!
OC Zoey x Alec in...
We will be reunited
Tumblr media
Sfw cut for length
Zoey begged and pleaded for Kamado to open the gates to the village.
He stood on the watchtower, arms crossed, glaring down at her as she tried to explain what she had been through. Holding up the red chain in her hands. With this material, she needs better tools to craft a poké Ball with, and only one person can do so.
On the other side, Alec, a friend she had known for a long time now, someone very dear to her. Heard her voice from the other side of the wall. Alec, His heart pounding hearing that familiar voice, looked up at his boss.
Alec knew Zoey's innocence, And she was only trying to help the village even now. But Kamado did not trust her; since she did not belong here, he thought that she was the sole cause of not only the time-space distortions, but the reason why the pokémon were going crazy.
Somehow, She got through to him.
"Open the gates!" His voice booms, ordering the galactic members to turn the cranks. The wooden gate creaks as it opens. His eyes widened at Kamado's decision. He wanted to run towards Zoey and tackle her in a hug. But Kamado had already separated the two as the red-haired heroine approached.
The red chain in her hand, she presented it to Kamado.
"Please, there's a way to fix this, Commander-!" Zoey sounded weak and tired; she hadn't had a good night's sleep in so long.
"Do not call me Commander outsider."
Zoey knew Kamado's disdain for her, but it still hurt after everything she did. She saw the town as a family!
Kamado glanced back, glaring at Alec. Alec, not wanting to make an enemy of the commander, stood down. He knew that Zoey wouldn't want him to get in trouble, even though it hurt him to see her like this. She was being treated like a dangerous animal rather than a human being.
Zoey took a while to speak; She was shaking, whether it be from rage or being scared, Alec could tell.
"Com-Kamado, I need to see Professor Laventon; I need him to turn this red chain into a Pokeball. Please, He's the only one who can do this."
Kamado snatches the red chain from her hand. "I will give this to him. It will be done by tomorrow, but you are not allowed in the village. I'll find someone to hand it over to you, and you will get out of my sight. Is that clear?"
Zoey stayed silent, only nodding her head.
With that, Kamado leaves, signaling the people to close the gates. The last thing she saw was Alec with a look of worry on his face. As the gates close behind her, Kamado drags the red chain to the ground, demanding Alec to his side.
Zoey slept in the forest just outside the village. She still had some supplies for camping out after just a tent. She was stoking the makeshift fire. Flygon was by her side. She had noticed the sadness of her dear trainer and rubbed against her to comfort her.
Zoey smiled, patting the dragon-type pokémon on the head. Flygon trilled at the attention, licking her trainer's cheek. Zoey giggled, wrapping her arms around her pokémon partner.
"Thank you for cheering me up, bud. I'm okay. I just want this all to be over."
Flygon chirped in agreement.
Suddenly, her head perked up, hearing The bushes that surrounded their humble camp rushling. Flygon, ready to protect her friend, bears her teeth snarling at the unknown sound. A Braviary hopped out of the bushes, playfully tackling the ground-type pokémon to the ground. Flygon, with a sniff, immediately knew who it was growling happily, her tail thumping the ground. Zoey noticed her pokémon's reaction confused because, to her knowledge, they'd never met this pokémon before.
"Braviary! Come back!" A familiar voice!
Appearing out from the bushes was a person, brandishing his Zoroark mask.
Zoey immediately knew that mask. Before Alec could even take off the mask, Zoey tackled him. The masked man let out a laugh, holding Zoey in his arms. "I knew you'd be here!"
She carefully held the wooden Zoroark mask, lifting it, uncovering his face. It has been so long since she had seen those eyes. Shimmering purple.
"How did you find me? I thought the gates to the village closed." Zoey asked.
Alec smiled and nodded his head over at his newly evolved bird pokémon.
"So Rufflet evolved! I almost didn't recognize him; He was so small and cute before. Now look at him!" Zoey gushed at Braviary, who was now play-wrestling with Flygon. To the dragon pokémon's surprise, the bird pokémon had gotten significantly stronger now and was putting up a good fight.
"I'm sorry, Zoey, I should have been with you," Alec said.
Without Zoey, The village is quiet, almost dead. Professor Laventon, Rei, and Akari were worried sick; not just them but everyone in Team Galaxy was concerned. Nearly questioning the commander's decisions because of how much she helped them. But, of course, Commander Kamado banned anyone from speaking about Zoey. If anyone were to speak anything about her and her weird green dragon bug, their job would be on the line.
However, unbeknownst to Alec, since Zoey's banishment, no one has changed more than Alec himself; he would always stare off into space whenever the commander was not around, and the only thing that would come out of his mouth was Zoey 'Was she okay? Where is she? Can I find her?' And they can't blame him. Their feelings for each other were very noticeable. Kamado especially knew how attached he was to Zoey, so he kept an extra eye on him.
Zoey shook her head. "No, Alec, I wanted you to stay. I needed you to protect the village. Since that day when the sky got weird, pokémon have been acting more violent; I've seen it for myself!"
Zoey had been okay with the help of Cogita and Volo, as well as behind the scenes help from Iridia, Adaman, and Cyllene. She was OK. But of course, every day for the last couple of months, she missed Alec terribly. Oh, how she wanted to fly back to the village, scream at Kamado, and run back into Alec's arms.
Hearing that Zoey needed him made his heart flutter; as much as he was so worried about her, he trusted her. "So…what have you been doing? Everyone else in the Galaxy Team has been worried sick."
The red-haired trainer had no idea where to start! With the riddles and the lake trio. The violent alpha guardian standing in her way. And the more frequent time-space portals.
But now that she finally had someone to talk to!
"There's a way to fix this!" Zoey said with a bright smile.
But when Alec gave her a happy yet confused look. Zoey giggled, apologized, and started from the beginning.
Alec, in awe, listened when Zoey told him about the red chain, as foretold in ancient scriptures about its power to control The God Almighty Sinnoh.
The spirits of the lake, and they're puzzling riddles with their alpha guardians protecting them.
How the God Sinnoh was neither Palkia or Dialga, as they spoke and announced themselves in the heads of the two clan leaders. That shocked Alec the most. If the Lord of Space and the Lord of Time weren't Almighty Sinnoh, then who was?! When was it possible Almighty Sinnoh was something even higher than them, a god that even those two must answer to?
This was all…a lot, and Zoey was doing this all alone…
A thought that Alec could not stand.
While Zoey was risking her life for all of Hisui, Alec was under house arrest.
Alec, or any of The Galaxy team that were on Zoey's side, couldn't go on excursions out of fear that they would try to reach out to her or find her…and all for what? The Commander's ego?
Alec grabbed Zoey's hands, making the trainer flush.
"Take me with you…tomorrow when you get that red chain Pokeball. Please take me with you!"
To distort what the commander says or what the commander does to him, being by her side was all that mattered. Doing what was right and saving the world was all that mattered! Zoey was more important to him than the skewed code of honor and ethics that the commander followed.
Zoey stared into Alec's determined eyes; she did not want Alec to lose his position in the Galaxy team. But, She didn't want to be alone again. And now that she is sure that she had found a way to stop this and save all of Hisui. She needed all the help she could get!
Zoey's pondering face turned into a confident one; that confident smile he fell in love with.
Alec smiled, letting go of her hands. He crawled out of her tent.
"All right, I have to go home- I'll meet you here tomorrow try and get some-"
"W-wait!” Zoey shouted, cutting him off. Her cheeks burned red, summoning the courage to ask him as Alec stood there waiting for her to respond.
"C-can you stay? J-just for the night, I mean."
Alec inhaled, his heart beating thumping fast, hard in his chest, His eyes widening. How could he say no? He would be a fool if he did!
Without a word, he crawled back into the tent, and the two stayed together that night.
The morning came upon the pair slowly.
The two could not sleep last night. All they did was talk- Small talk, silly things- Anything to distract them from the looming threat of facing whatever lies beyond. All they had to do was summon the red chain and stand face-to-face to whatever lies beyond. It could be Almighty Sinnoh…or it could be something else, something far beyond their imaginations.
But one thing was sure: they were going to do it together.
Packing up camp silently, they headed back to the village only for Laventon to come running out of the giant wooden gates as they loudly creaked open.
The professor was a wreck, eye bags with no sleep, possibly for working on the origin ball with the red chain bunched up in his hand. He yelled out, looking for Alec.
And when he saw Zoey, his eyes widened in disbelief
"ALEC!" The professor screamed before smiling at Zoey ."Good morning. He's-"
"Have you seen Commander Kamado?!"
Alec shook his head. "I've been with Zoey all night."
Laventon gave him a concerned look before continuing, "I was looking for the Commander to deliver the red chain and the ball to you, Zoey! Commander Kamado never leaves his office, but to my surprise,e I couldn't find him anywhere, and when I tried to ask, the Galaxy team would not give me a straight answer…"
The two trainers just looked at each other. Zoey broke the silence.
"You don't think…"
Their answer was confirmed when a galaxy member rushed up to the three, out of breath. "Sorry, the commander threatened us not to tell you, but He made a rant about taking matters into his own hands, and when we asked him, he told us that he was going to deal with the threat by himself without in his words 'Zoey's stupid rocks'"
Her eyes widened, putting her palms into her hands. "Over the love of…The commander doesn't know what he's doing. He's going to get himself killed!"
There was no time to waste; Laventon put the ball and the red chain in Zoey's hands. "Talk to Cyllene before you leave. She wanted to see you soon after Kamado rushed out."
They walked to the village. The village people stared at Zoey as they made their way to the Galaxy building. Cyllene at her desk, pinching the bridge of her nose. When she sees the red-haired trainer, she turns her chair. Zoey could almost make out the faintest hint of a smile. Before the lady sighs, "After what you've been through, we have no right to ask you for help again, but please—kicking you out was not a unanimous decision. But please, the commander was a fool. Go up there and stop that idiot from riling up whatever the hell you saw." Her voice shook. Cyllene normally was a calm woman, but now, as our colleague and boss makes a rash decision, potentially getting himself and everyone else killed, She could not stay calm.
Even though the past few months have been hell, she lived out in the ancient retreat alone. Zoey could not abandon those in danger even though they treated her like outsiders. She loved the Pokémon and the villagers she had made friends with.
"I'll do it, Captain Cyllene."
The Captain smiled. She knew Kamado would blow his top over her decision, but she'd handle him. She was sure the stubborn commander would change his mind. I ife red-haired outsider saved his life.

ALTERNATIVELY
This is the age of OC X Canon, so let us post cringe, my dears! Have a blanked out face for a wedding photograph for Reader Insert vibes. The second pic is Professor Laventon and my OC, Petunia Elm. (Oh, yeah, I went there.) She is an ancestor of Professor Elm, though not directly. It's her big brother that passes on the genes to Elm himself later down the line. Petunia (or Tunie), meanwhile, is a member of the Construction Corps. Ugh, I always feel so weird posting things like this, which is why I prefaced it with a Cyllene one X'D.
