Oh friends this isn't my normal kind of post, but a lot of us are hurting or afraid right now.

There's been plenty of posts that have said it better but dear ones, lean into your community. Cultivate relationships with your neighbors, your local librarians, your churches and charitable organizations that help provide for others.

The hardest thing to do for a lot of us will be to leave the "us vs them" mentality the social media age has helped cultivate and see people as just that. People.

People with good ideas, people with bad ideas, but people who need community and who can change. Not all of us have the time or means to donate or volunteer, believe me I know. But dear ones, take the time to check on others and let yourself be taken care of too.

Communities are stronger together, and we all need that right now regardless of location.

Hold on dear ones, we get through this together.

Hey, so um that Kenobi's parents thing you wrote was super awesome and I adore it so much because I actually had something similar in mind and I thought that was amazing. So I was wondering if we could maybe have more of it? I'm sorry. It's just really cute.

there actually is more! On my blog, under the tag “Kenobi Family”, I wrote a fair amount of stuff with @arcticfoxbear and @i-lavabean . Stuff about Obi-wan’s four sisters, stuff about all the clones getting spontaneously adopted, and this  somewhat angsty thing

I was stuck for names, and I texted my brother-in-law and sister to ask for suggestions. Brother-in-law said "Radioactivepeasant."

I thought, "Y'know what, that is very unlikely to be already taken. Let's do it."

And I've been Radio ever since.

In which the Doctor and Rose get married (kinda)

It all started out normal enough. After Tinny’s sacrifice the Doctor had tried to take Rose to an alien world. Essentially Paris in space as he’d called it.  

Unfortunately in the time period they landed in, they were in the middle of a huge war. 

In order to end the war one of the princes pf the invaders said that he would take the girl he found the most beautiful to be his bride from the planet. Thus ending hostilities with their union. 

Of course with their luck..he chose Rose. 

Despite the Doctors best attempts, they grabbed her and the citizens of the planet said that they would kill and exile the Doctor if he interfered with the wedding. and yes it WOULD be in that order. This being the Doctor he took this very seriously and knocked out the groom, stole his suit *The invaders couldn't breathe any other air besides their own* and tired to find a different means of peace.  

Unfortunately for him, the kings of both planets both thought it was a good idea and refused any other idea.  Though the Doctor noted the big sword pressed to the neck of the “Space Paris” king. 

So the Doctor found himself unable to stop anything. In order to keep up the charade he might have sent the Prince on a one way ticket back home via an escape pod. 

When he saw Rose though, he had to admit that she was a vision. 

*Think this, except with golden wolves and roses embroidered, with gold bracelets* 

As they weren’t allowed to communicate much till on the way to the ceremony, Rose didn’t know it was the Doctor. As such she took every chance to spite the “prince” 

Using her gown she kept knocking him around and to the floor. She more than once “accidentally” stomped her boot-heels into his shoe. And oat once point tried opening his mask to terrify him. 

That was when she found out it was the Doctor. He was terrible at pretending he was choking. 

“So what is your plan?” She asked as they were shuttled to the ceremony. 

“I don;t have one.” 

“What?” 

“Here’s the funny thing Rose...I literally cannot find a way out of this.” 

“How is that funny?” 

“it’s not actually, but don’t worry there is a big chance we won’t be found out.” 

“A chance, what did you do knock out the Prince and toss him out an airlock?” 

“Well no...well you’re half right.” 

“You killed him!?” 

“No, I stuffed him into an escape pod, I’m crazy Rose but I’m not cruel.” ” 

The tradition of the invaders stated that the groom would escort the bride to the alter. Their walk out the aisle would go down in history as the most awkward in the history of both worlds. 

The priest spoke in the traditional language of the invaders...which was almost unspeakable for either of them. The Doctor flubbed what he was supposed to say twice, and given how hard he was punched, might have insulted the priests mother. 

The priest wrapped up the ceremony and pronounced them husband and wife..right as the original prince showed up with an assortment of armed guards. The Priests and kings both tore off the Doctors space suit, reveling him to be a fraud. 

“Okay...now what?” Rose asked, taking the Doctors hand. 

“When I say run...we run.” 

“I can;t run, have you seen what I’m dressed in?” 

Rose did get be carried across the threshold multiple thresholds at that. As the Doctor went tearing across the planet carrying her in his arms, with the armies of both planets chasing them. 

They made it back to the TARDIS and left right as both sides were preparing to kill and exile them both. Doing a bit of research, the Doctor found that the war had ended. 

Because everyone involved devoted the rest of their lives to hunting him down. 

Rose ended up flopping down in her giant dress after they landed someplace safe as the Doctor joined her. It then finally dawned upon them that they;d signed the license..they’d gone through the ceremony.

They were married.

The first thing the Doctor had asked his new wife was-

“So...where do you want to go for the honeymoon?” 

Rose then proceeded to bean the Doctor with her bouquet.

I can't escape the realization that it would be so easy for the good, protective, unconditional love of a parent to be twisted by fear into something else. I think of what I would do if my world fell apart the way Bode's did, what would I do to keep my little beans safe?

This is absolutely a time to hold fast to each other and our communities.

I speak as a library employee who knows difficulties are ahead -- and were already happening before yesterday. I speak as a person who has to plan for how to take care of my family in all this. Reach out, and hold on tight. Don't let go of each other. Don't let fear separate and isolate us.

Like Mr. Rogers used to say, "Look for the helpers".
